mha rant# ua is bad school and people need to acknowledge it
Ua is supposed to be the best hero school right. Well about that, there are a few bad eggs in it. Aizawa 'expulsion trigger' shots, who worships bakugo(then again hori and the fandom already do this), recovery girl who denies medical treatment, midnight who flirts with anything that has legs, and nezu, who is supposed to be smart, yet somehow makes the worlds dumbest decisions. Seriously the fact no has died here is a miracle in and of itself. Like seriously the fact that All might, a newbie teacher is a better teacher than them, who have been at the school longer than him is just sad.

lurker here, I just gotta ask, since ua is a point of extreme criticism in your bnha stories, what are your full opinions on both aizawa and nedzu (ik they're not the only 2, but their actions are a lot more influential at how ua runs things) since I believe those two are the reasons why ua is why it is in both canon and fanon stuff ive seen?
Isn't that a loaded question?
To get this out of the way I do not think Aizawa is a bad hero. He is shown to be a skilled combatant, has mastery over his quirk, and generally knows what he is doing on the field.
However, he is a dogshit teacher.
He routinely ignores his class in favor of sleep, he can't recognize signs of abuse and bullying among his students, he expels entire classrooms of students (more on that later), he shows at least an extent of favoritism because if we are to believe his expulsion record then why else is Bakugou and Mineta still enrolled, his logical ruses are pointless at best and cause trust issues at worth, and to be honest his teaching methods are shit judging by his admittance that Vlad King is a better teacher during the Joint-Training Arc.
Back to the expulsion point, is Aizawa aware that by his expulsion of entire classrooms of students he is effectively ruining their lives?
Japan places high values on education as both a country and a society. It is one of the most influential factors in a citizen's life as it affects both employment and socioeconomic growth.
Upon expelling a student, Aizawa has effectively left a black mark on their record. From a normal school, this could put them a minimum wage job for the rest of their life. From an elite hero school, this could make them jobless for the rest of their life. The idea that Aizawa expelled them only to re-enroll them later and for them to be grateful for it is either a disgustingly ignorant or intentionally malicious choice on Horikoshi's part.
While Aizawa may eventually remove that mark, he is still controlling students through fear by threatening them with essentially poverty.
That isn't even taking into account how many current or former students of him have mutant quirks, have darker skin, are LGBTQIA+ in some way, or other factors that would feed into societal discrimination.
Once again, he essentially threatens them with death for what? Not understanding what they're getting into when it comes to training to be a hero? No one knows what they are getting into becoming a hero or the sacrifices they'll have to make from physical strain, social exposure, and mental exhaustion.
He ultimately suffers from what most BNHA characters suffer from, misunderstanding what makes certain tropes work. He is supposed to be another closed off but secretly caring anime teacher, but what makes those characters work is the fact they aren't teaching in a classroom but rather outside of one in non-school circumstances.
As for Nezu, it is more complicated because we don't see as much as him or know as much about him as we do with Aizawa. What we do know is that he doesn't like humans and judging by UA and his actions as a principal he really seems hellbent on destroying the hero career and the humans within his care (the robots for the simulations and entrance exam, having teachers go all out for final exams, the crowding them all into dorms, the shit security towards the beginning). For him it is more a question of how he can be the principal.

Quirk: Found Family - Unconsciously, Izuku constantly emits a low-level psychic field that, when someone gets caught in, makes that person want to adopt Izuku as their son/nephew/brother/etc. When in distress, the psychic field strengthens, forcing all those who have "adopted" Izuku to become murderous towards whoever or whatever distressed Izuku. Curiously, the only ones immune to this quirk are those with shitty/douchey personalities (e.g. Bakugou, Mineta, Endeavor, etc).

The, “I’m not here to make friends squad” (shinsou and Shouto) both become besties with izuku (shinsou loves him, I don’t care what anyone says. After izuku tells everyone about ofa and rants about how great shinsou’s quirk is? Shinsou pledges his soul to this green demon.
Aizawa tries to resist for the longest time, but soon comes to realize that he would do anything for his son, Problem Child
Present mic accepts that he has a son within the first four days of knowing izuku. Izuku asks if mic could teach him JSL, he already started to learn because he’s hard of hearing (thanks, bakugou), but he figures that Mic would be able to help more than YouTube.
Midnight finds izuku’s hero analysis blog online and raves about it to the other teachers she reblogs from him and screen shots it to every social media she has and proudly proclaims that this is her student, and that he’s going to be a great hero
All might starts sometimes taking him out for ice cream after training him a few months before ua
Uraraka is the first of the UA students to be affected by his quirk. He helps her out during the entrance exam, and she promptly declares herself president of the Izuku Protection Squad/Club, Iida soon becomes treasurer
Kirishima one day asks bakugou why he’s such an asshole to the literal embodiment of heroism and sunshine, and bakugou just goes on a highly rude and offensive rant about how useless izuku is, which is like,,, #1 way to find yourself with a bunch of people angry at you. Kirishima stands up for izuku though :)
I don’t care who you ship izuku with, they will get SO many shovel talks. Not just by the adults, but by izuku’s friends too
The most terrifying one to give the suitor The Talk tm is Inko. That’s her baby, and she trusts his judgement on who he chooses to date, and by all means, she knows that he can take care of himself (can he though @ the vigilante arc), but she’ll be damned if there isn’t the added factor of, “hurt my child and face my quirk that can tear you apart atom from atom”
Big brother izuku and his little sister Eri. They are adorable. They could kill you and you would thank them because, honestly, if they decided to do so, there is a good reason for it.
Izuku is Eri’s favorite person, and he is literally overjoyed when she tells him this. She finds him when she has nightmares, and he is always ready to comfort her and assure her that everything is, and will be, okay
Izuku stands up for Kaminari after people start making fun of him when he short circuits. He makes sure that he’s okay, and protects him from any harm that could befall him. After that, Kaminari too, pledges his soul to the green demon
Monoma tries to hide the fact that he does care for izuku, but after izuku fucks off for his vigilante arc, Monoma has a mild breakdown along with most people who have interacted with Izuku in recent months. Where is the class a bastard? Why is he not here? Why did he think this was a good idea? Why didn’t he ask for help? Why is he putting himself in so much danger? If he had asked literally 90% of UA would be at his side in an instant
Mei decides that Mr. 1 million is great after he helps her with her babies and helps her tests them. She decides that he’s even more reckless than she is after his solo mission where he goes off the grid for a while and tries to hunt down the worst super villain known to man. But hey, who is she to judge? She’ll support this mad man and help make all the tech he needs as long as he partners with hatsume industries, and she knows he will, because he’s great and definitely meets her crazy
Momo realizes how great Izuku is after he helps reassure her after she lost her fight at the sports festival. He finds her and talks about how great her quirk is and how smart she is. They are paired up for a project one time, and completely dominate. They help build each other’s confidence so much. I literally love these two so much, they’re both smart and insecure as shit. Momo loves listening to izuku’s analysis and makes comments every now and then too, and izuku just dies inside because he’s not being told to shut up or being called weird
Jirou always walks into the dorms on Saturday mornings asking for song recs. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, izuku makes her a playlist of some rare songs that she might not have heard yet, and Jirou promises that she would burst eardrums for this dude
Speaking of the dorms, when they are set up, the quirk becomes so much more powerful. Like, everyone already loved izuku, but now? He is their son/brother/cousin/nephew/crush/whatever the fuck, they care about him.
One time, he got to talking with toga, and soon enough, she’s spilling her tragic backstory Shouto style. *another one bites the dust plays in the distance* izuku has a new sister. Congratulations, everyone, a new member of the Izuku Protection Squad/Club has been found (I know this probably wouldn’t happen in Canon, but I love toga so much and if given proper quirk counseling and/or caring parents, she would have found her way into the izucrew. I stand by this and my mind will not be changed.)
Mina teachers izuku how to deal with his curly hair. She was appalled when she found out how he used to take care of them and makes it her mission to fix this tragedy. But she also really helps with his confidence. I love this duo so much, the chaos that they reign on UA is great.
Izuku is one of the first people to treat dark shadow like their own individual entity, and Tokoyami is shook. Sometimes, dark shadow, Tokoyami, and izuku hang out at night when they can’t sleep. So does anyone who wakes up from nightmares and can’t go back to sleep
Now. Aizawa was terrified of Nezu getting his hands on izuku’s analysis notebooks. He still has nightmares about how it happened, honestly. But one day, izuku was called out of class by Nezu and Aizawa honestly wondered if he should hand in his resignation. It took mic to convince him not to, but mic was also terrified of what would befall the world after Nezu got his hands on either izuku or momo (which we’ll get to in a moment). After a very long and interesting conversation with izuku, Nezu requests that he be shown all of izuku’s notebooks.
His laughs can be heard echoing across the school. Shivers go down spines. The sun hides behind the clouds.
Izuku tells Nezu that sometimes momo will do analysis with him, and that she’s a really great strategist, just lacks confidence.
Again, Aizawa feels his world tip on its axis as momo yaoyorozu is called into the principle’s office.
Soon, they are both appointed as nezu’s personal students, meeting up twice a week.
No one knows what goes on during those meetings and no one has the Gaul to ask.
Except Mina. But she doesn’t get a real answer from either of the students.
Koda loves that izuku is the first student of UA that he can comfortably communicate with through JSL, other students start learning after a few weeks though after learning that it’ll be easier to communicate with izuku, koda, and present mic if they can, and they don’t want anyone to feel excluded!
Sero loves pre-quirk era superhero movies, and overhears izuku talking about them one day. Immediately runs over and asks if he knows spider-man. He does. They need out about it for hours. Izuku overheard someone saying that Sero is, “plain looking” and stands up for him,. Sero is sinfkwnfitjsjks. Izuku tells izuku that people say the same thing about him, which Sero honestly cannot understand, because this boy is obviously precious and deserves the world. Yes, he could easily destroy said world, but if he decided to do so, he’d definitely have a reason and sero would support him
Izuku is not sure how he went from having one (1) person (his mother) care about him, to having a whole fleet of people who have his back 1000%, and he honestly struggles to accept that people genuinely care about him. Shouto theorizes that it’s a quirk first. He blatantly says that izuku has a quirk that makes people want to adopt him in some way, shape, or form bur shouto’s conspiracy theories are never taken very seriously by most people. He will never let them go though. He’s right. He knows it.

I saw your answer for the ua sending kids to danger, especially war, and I raise you a different possibility (100% speculation on my part) "can we say for sure the others schools were asked the same thing but said no?"
Yes. We dont know anything about the others schools. Maybe they offer and Hori never show as we saw them entering in the war part 2: the eletrical bangaloo....but to be fair, it would be hard for them to sit in class and doing homework as war is literally in their grounds, streets and so forth.
But on part 1. We dont see the others students there. So again, my especulation, what if they had put feets down and said no?
But Nezu said yes? I can think of a few reasons for that. (Keep in mind I dont think Nezu is a smart as Hori and the fandom wants us to think)
1) could have been a power play of sort. "Only mys students can handle this" which well...could work as Nezu is not human and doesnt seem to care about the students on a whole (remmeber Mina and Kami vs Nezu? How fair was that?)
2) he genuinely thought his students would be an asset to the heroes and said ok. Which makes me believe even more he doesnt care for his students's safety.
3) he was forced. Ok, what could have made him agree to this? Blackmail comes to mind but what secret is si damn important you are willing to send kids to war?
Those are my top 3 reasons. And not sure if is canon this but I think the class A1 didnt know they were sent to a war...if this is true, then is anothet adult(non human) who failed Izu.
Like MHA is an accidental dystopia.
The thing is with Nezu is the age old standard of Int/Wis; Nezu is book smart, he has a lot of knowledge, facts, and ability to apply those facts to make a thing happen. That's Intelligence, the ability to use your mind, and he's probably only has even faintest hint of competition in his sheer Int score with Dr. Diabolus Ex Machina.
Wisdom, on the other hand, is when you go, 'But should I do this'?
At a memetically extreme example, a High Int, Low Wis character could find a door somewhere, decide to open it, and make a siege engine out of, I don't know, hamburgers and coat hangers to bust it open. This is certainly a thing they could do, and it'd work because they are, in fact, that spot.
Meanwhile, the character with higher (any) Wisdom would walk up to the door... and then try to open it like a normal person.
Intelligence is ability to use your mind, and Wisdom is what tells you how you should use your mind, and when you look at Nezu, you only really see Intelligence, and then no one in story ever seems to question his decisions, really, because he's really smart, but there's a real question if he uses his intelligence well? Because there are a lot of 'I can do this, but no one, including me, ever asked if I should do this' kinds of choices in UA, and if we're not just blaming it on bad writing, all of that comes down to Nezu, in the end. The literal cities they just... have? The robots that probably have killed people? The Sports Festival? All of those are thing with very questionable elements that UA does anyways, seemingly because they can and no one's ever stopped them from doing it.
That's looking at the question from the angle of 'Nezu, while well meaning, made a bad call'. There is, however, one other major option, and it starts with this: why does Nezu run a school? On a fundamental level, I'm not sure Nezu's goal in running UA is for the students, so much as he views the students as a step towards his goal.
Unironically, he's a sadist who enjoys low-key torturing human beings because of past trauma, which... before anything else, begs a question: is it just low-key torture he likes? Or is he just practical enough to realize than anything more would be more trouble than it's worth?
But, beyond that problem, let's look at his position: he's the head of UA, the biggest, bestest school for Heroes, which is a job that comes with a lot of publicity/power, which, inevitably, rolls back to him. His job allows him massive amounts of control over the development of the cutting edge of heroism, who by dint of their fame and success influence other heroes, all of which collectively influences Japanese society as a whole by a pretty significant degree.
Meanwhile, Nezu is: brilliant, deeply traumatized, likes torturing, and through that defacto controlling, humans. He's also not a human, and takes pains at times to point out that others are humans and he's not, while also having assumably inhuman instincts and priorities; almost certainly he has some level of anti-human bias.
There's... there's an obvious correlation here. Fundamentally, Nezu is a character who seems to be made to be complicated, imperfect, with dark depths to him. The way he's written, Hori clearly doesn't want him to be, but, well, he writes a lot of deeply flawed characters we're supposed to find no wrong with.
If you look at Nezu that way, where he views students more as an asset, or an investment, than as, well, students, or as people, then your point takes on a different light. Looking at it with cold logic, the students can contribute to the various conflicts; even if they die, for the greater good of society (which he lives in and benifits from), heroism as a career (which he is in a position to benefit from greatly, as well as influenced greatly), and quite frankly as a living being on Japan/Earth, that cost is more than worth the price if they help support the status quo; its not like there's not going to be more next year, right?
And that's the thing that really interests me; what the hell was Hori thinking when he made Nezu? With Bakugou and Endeavour, for example, you can see where they started off one way, and went another? Nezu though? His entire point as a character seems to be firmly as the 'nice but somewhat manipulative' principal, but it's a waste of his fundamental characteristics. Did he have a different role in the prototype? Because if I was writing Nezu as a character, here's what I'd write him as:
An enemy. Not evil, not a villain, but a obstacle for Izuku to surpass in UA; it's not that he's bigoted, like Aizawa is (or at least to the same extent), he just well and truly doesn't care about people and what they do as long as his bottom line is met. And Izuku isn't there to be a new hero, like Bakugou, about fame and wealth, he doesn't fit. Worse yet, if we're working off of the original, 'Quirkless Hero' framework? Fundamentally, he is a threat to the concept of heroes that is established, that makes people want to think outside the box, and the thing is? Nezu likes the box. He's one of the people who designed it; he'd like everyone to stay in the box, please and thank you.
There's this epic story we're never going to get of Izuku being a little revolutionary, fighting against the heroic establishment to change heroism for the better and for the rights of the Quirkless, and his first major enemies are: Bakugou, the bully, Aizawa, the biased teacher who enables Bakugou and attacks Izuku, and Nezu, who enables all of them, and barely gives a shit about Izuku at all but would absolutely murder him in a heartbeat if he thought he could get away with it, but is resigned to fact he can't just kill people because they mildly irk him.
To your last point, though, fundamentally MHA is exactly a dystopia, by design; it's dystopian nature is one of the main causes for almost all conflicts in the story, from the villains, to the heroes, to Izuku's core personality traits, but for some reason Hori got really scared to admit that so he covered all the bars and locks with confetti... only after he got all the ways he purposefully made it a dystopia looking all harmless and fun, he missed all the ways he accidently made it a dystopia. To this day, I'm still not sure if he designed the heroic pay system, what little of it we know, to be purposefully that fucked up, or he just did some basic work to support what happens in the story and missed how deeply disturbing those implications were.

I wasn't even keeping up with the MHA manga but I did read the last three chapters without context and I've already decided how to fix the ending for my Self Insert
#mha manga spoilers#bnha manga spoilers#The League is not dead first of all that's a really Fucked Up ending#Instead they all end up in Critical Condition and the Public is told they're dead#(Including my S/I who is currently in captivity for conspiring with the League)#Jump cut to months later All Might comes to visit me and says there's someone who wants to see me#So cuffed and blinded I ride in his car to a secure location#Said location turns out to be a spare dormitory on UA grounds#And inside- is the League!#They'd been waiting until they'd all woken up and been released for the Hospital before letting us all see eachother#We're all sat down (piled on one couch holding on however we can) and told the situation#The plan was change our names and ship us off to another country with dedicated surveillance#So we can have our second chance in piece#But rebuilding Japan is taking a LOT of resources so we all have to sit tight at UA until they have funds to spare again#Which will be a few years#In the meantime we get lots of visitors! The Todorokis come over every night to make dinner#All Might and Izuku come to sit and talk with Tomura an hour or so a day#Ochaco spends every spare moment between Rebuild work with Himiko either in the house or wandering school grounds#And after probably a full year or better of this life Nezu comes to me with a proposal of making the League official UA staff#They have a perspective that is very important to young heroes now a days and plenty of experience on the field#It's keep us under surveillance without forcing us to move away from the families we've just reconnected to#And that's how both Tomura and Izuku can be UA Teachers together <3

The self indulgent blurb
“Hey, hey! Aizawa!” Shouta paused to turn towards the voice calling. Walking down the hall was the form of Nezu’s secretary, Mathews Vic. A plus size, short person, they had randomly appeared one day blinking behind their glasses in Nezu’s office. Shouta never found out to much about them, given Nezu hoarded their information like a dragon but they'd settled in well as a secretary. “Shit yeah good to catch you!” Mathews beamed. They flicked their braid behind their head, the random pieces of bone in it clinking.
Shouta was ninety percent sure the whole ‘bone in hair’ thing was to mess with people. “Mathews,” Shouta said to them with a nod. They were at work and not in private. Hell, he was outside his classroom on the third day. Probably Mathews's own design on that. They once told Shouts that ‘eavesdropping is essential for a hero student and if they over hear shut they shouldn't it's on them to keep their mouths shut’. Though they did keep the really confidential stuff hidden.
“Glad I caught you! Wanted to talk about two of your students. Midoriya and Bakugou,” Mathews said. Shouta sighed. Of course, those two. Shouta’s first impression had been of a slacker and a kid who'd been told for years that he would end up a villain thanks to his Quirk. It hadn't changed just yet, but something was bugging him about them.
“Whats on your mind?” Shouta asked.
“Well for starters I met Bakugou before. It was a year back and I caught the kid threatening some other kids about ‘not applying to UA cause I'll kill you’. He actually had his Quirk popping in his hands. I stepped in, told him off and moved on. But that kinda thing sticks in your mind you know?” Mathews said. “So when I saw him I was like. Ah! Must look into! And I have for the last bit other than when the Rat God, May he have mercy on our souls, asks me to do other things.”
The cackle coming in from their earpieces, showing Nezu was listening, made Shouta shake his head. The joke kept on going, it was funny enough but Mathews took forever to get to their point like the rat did.
“Anyways so I did further research and looked into teacher comments on Bakugou. Did you?”
“No, I never look at them. Half the time they're garbage with either inflated praise or sabatoge. I look at other things like grades and skill scores.” Shouta said honestly. He'd like to talk to the person who started the rumour he didn't read the files. He wasn't stupid, he just skipped things that often ended up being faked.
“Smart smart, cause Midoriya has the worst load of horseshit I've ever seen. This kid is apparently the most disruptive and unintelligent child, meanwhile he's nearly broke a record on our entrance exam. 90%! Can you believe it?!” Mathews spread their arms out with a grin. Shouta had known that, but figured Mathews and Nezu were just absurdly pleased by a smart kid.
Shuffling came from the classroom they were in front of. Both ignored it as Mathews rambled on. “Bakugou though… that kid has nothing but praise and being called a delight in his files. I was instantly suspicious.”
Shouta was now to. That didn't make sense with his attitude so far. It should have been more like Midoriya’s records then not. Or it would be if he faced Quirk Discrimination like Shouta assumed.
“So I went digging. I know you thought he was a victim of discrimination cause his attitude matched yours as a kid, angry, bitter, willing to scream at people-” Mathews rambled as a loud bang echoed from the classroom before quieting.
We need to work on stealth, Shouta thought to himself.
“So I went back further and dug up some of the social media of their classmates and holy SHIT. Aizawa? That explosive kid is a narcissistic sociopath waiting to happen!” Mathews said in disbelief. “And no this isn't ‘oh Explosive Quirk? You're a villain in the making!’” the high pitched sing-song voice made Shouta shake his head at them. “This is me ACTUALLY wondering cause that kid had used his Quirk on Midoriya multiple times for stupid reasons. Including muttering. I saw DOZENS of videos Shouta, all untagged so we missed them!”
The fact Mathews used his name showed how serious this was. “Vic-” Shouts began but they waved him off.
“Not now. I'm angry. You know the whole ‘hey so this school gets all grades audited’ thing we discovered. It's not because of Bakugou like you thought. It's cause of Midoriya! Cause until the entrance exam he was Quirkless! And they treated him like SHIT FOR IT!” Mathews exploded. “I can't tell you how much shit I went through Shouta, how much BULLSHIT I saw spew from the mouths of students and teachers. And Bakugou was a driving force!” Mathews shook their head, turning away from Shouta to stare at the wall.
He looked at his classroom, wondering why it was so quiet. It felt like a tomb, staring at it.
It was better than thinking on Mathews's words. He didn't WANT to believe it. He didn't want to think that they'd let an bigoted bully into UA. But Mathews rarely lied.
“Fuck, we fucked up.”
“We caught it early,” Mathews said to him, turning away from the wall. “I poked at Midoriya’s file to and he was Quirkless. It changed a week after the exam.”
“False negative? With specific activation?” Shouta asked.
“One option. Some of the videos had the kid freaking scrawny. Makes sense he needed to put on muscle for that Quirk. But like… there's also three other options.” Mathews said. “One, he met someone who can give people Quirks-”
“Like the boogeyman?” Shouta rolled his eyes.
“I met the fuck six years back, he wanted my Quirk,” Mathews said dryly. “I set off a glitter bomb in answer. But you do know there are other people with similar Quirks right? Nothing is unique and I want to point while laughing at any idiot claiming otherwise. Hell there's one with the exact same Quirk in Taiwan. Nice lady, works for the government.” Mathews shrugged at Shouta’s look. “No Quirk is villainous. It's idiots who say so.”
“I know that. I just wonder how you keep meeting these people.” Shouta told them.
“Sheer dumb luck. And also me being nosy as fuck. But anyway, so that's an option except my friend charges big bucks for a Quirk unless you go through the government so she's out and I can't think of anyone else in Japan since Boogeyman either died or went underground… wonder if the glitter… no right back on track. Our second option if a force manifested Quirk.” Mathews looked very uncomfortable saying that. Shouta understood why.
Force manifested Quirks, or FMQ only came about in serious circumstances. The idea Midoriya had one was haunting.
But it explained so much. The darkness in his eyes, the lowered face, the quiet looks he gave. It explained so much.
“Entrance exam?” Shouta asked. Mathews fidgeted. “... Vic?”
“I umm… sent you some videos of the worst bullying and a signed statement from a kid who told me a lot of stuff about Bakugou. Apparently they were friends of a sort? And the kid had a wake up call? It’s not… pretty.” Mathews winced. “But it’s possible Midoriya… tried to take his own life before UA. I don’t know if he did but it’s not good.”
“Fuck,” Shouta covered his face. His classroom was still so silent. Why?

“...That’s a thing?” Shouta asked.
“Oh yeah I know like three heroes with one, and two non-heroes.” Mathews chriped as they motioned with their hands, trying to avoid the unpleasant conversation they just had. “It’s rareish, but it happens.”
“I see…” Shouta sighed. “Well, thanks for this. I now have to talk to my class who heard everything probably.”
“...Wait, wait… what… oh fuck,” Mathews paled dramatically. “I thought it was after school.”
“... did you forget AGAIN what times people leave school here?”

When it was announced that U.A. would be acquiring a new pro-hero teacher, Aizawa Shouta didn’t expect much, if anything to change. But when you walked through the conference room door with your hands fidgeting with your outfit, he couldn’t help but fan a spark of interest that ignited in his chest. Most teachers at U.A. had an abundance of confidence, bordering on arrogance. Rightfully so, considering they were working at the top Pro Hero Academy School in the World.
Yet, when you walked in with the confidence of a mouse surrounded by cats, he wondered if Nezu had lost his mind.
Shouta thought you were exactly what meets the eye, a nervous wreck, insecure about everything from your appearance to your abilities. The tired teacher was certain you wouldn’t last a full year teaching, succumbing to the pressures of being both a Pro Hero and a teacher at the same time.
So imagine his surprise when he heard you chewed out several of his students for making mistakes during a mock battle. From what his students relayed to him, you were downright terrifying, forcing them to fight again, and again until they succeeded without making any mistakes. Shouta was shocked. From what he deduced, you didn’t have the balls to even speak your mind during conference meetings, let alone lecture students. It also didn’t help that whenever he saw you, you looked happy just to be alive.
When he saw you idly chatting with Snipe in the teacher’s lounge with a bright smile on your face, his irritation grew. He couldn’t figure you out…and it was irksome, to say the least.
The instant Snipe walked away, presumably to his desk, Shouta walked up to you, hands shoved in his pocket while his face remained apathetic, and greeted you with a grunt that sounded a lot like your name.You subtly tensed at his sudden presence.
“Eraserhead.” You greeted all the same, a hint of a smile on your face although it looked more nervous than welcoming. His eyes roamed your face, taking note of every twitch in an attempt to solve what was going on through your mind.
“Heard you berated a few of my students,” The words came out of his mouth, cold and covered in discontentment. His eyes glanced towards the couch that called his name. “Wanna explain why?”
You’re timid nature almost melted off of you like wax from a wick, and was replaced by cool composure, “You want an explanation…?” There was something judgmental in your tone, the whisper of a smile on your face grew into a grin. “For my teaching methods?” As you narrowed your head and narrowed your enticing eyes, Shouta felt more puzzled than ever.
The tired teacher regretted confronting you the second you tilted your head. The sight was annoyingly endearing, even though he had a sneaking suspicion that it was a trick. A trap that he walked right into, and had no other option than to see it through. He nodded in confirmation to your clarification, lips lightly pursed as your phrasing made him realize how he sounded like a complete dick.
“They were sloppy,” You elaborated after a beat, a bored look in your eyes as they glanced to the side before making their way back to his tall form. “And lacked technique. If they fought on the field like they did today, they’d be dead within minutes.” The words were pointed at Shouta, holding an irritated edge to them as you clenched your jaw. Your hands tapped against your cup of coffee to an unknown rhythm.
The man standing opposite of you has a stern glare on his face at your criticism but he didn’t say anything. He knew you were right, they were sloppy and their technique wasn’t structured. That didn’t mean he liked how easily you saw their faults, and consequently his.
From the way you wordlessly started to wander away from him, it was apparent that you were done talking. His eyes followed you, noting how your hair bounced slightly with every movement. His mind worked overtime trying to decipher how you suddenly seemed so self-assured that it made him question if he read you all wrong.
Almost as if to taunt him, you turned around to face him once more, “And I would appreciate it if next time,” You slowly walked backward and took a sip of your coffee before continuing. “You bring your concerns to me in private.” You gave him a tight-lipped smile and walked further into the teacher’s lounge, leaving him alone to ponder why in the hell you’re so intriguing to him.

Present Mic: "You can't do things like that-" He's following you, lately it feels like he's always following you. "I'm not going to argue with you right now Hizashi." You hold your hand up, not even turning to face him. "What?" He sounds perturbed, "I'm not trying to argue with you!" "Oh perfect! I know I'm always wrong in your eyes but this time I'm glad to have screwed it up! So I guess that's solved, I'll see you tomorrow." If your mood had been even slightly more sour Aizawa poking his head out of his bedroom door and making a mocking angry feline sound at you would have made you deck him. Dorming as staff had created much more drama than anticipated, he was loving it. You had a feeling Nezu wasn't going to stick to this set up long. You weren't a teacher and didn't live in the dorms, however you were working closely with Hizashi and upon decided to come check on him after the fight you were instantly met with criticisms of your performance.
"Fuck off." Instead of decking him, you just push Aizawa by his forehead, away from you. "Why won't you listen to me?" Hizashi closes Aizawa's door as he walks by it, still chasing you. "Because you're not the boss of me!" You turn to face him, "I swear you think-" "I'm not telling you this because I think I'm the boss of you! I'm telling you this because I-" He furrows his eyebrows, "I'm telling you as a concerned friend, your lack of self preservation is-" "None of your concern!" You can hear Nemuri gasp at that, Aizawa must of alerted her to the brewing argument. It was your mistake for accidentally venting to him about Hizashi's sudden change in attitude. You forgot how much he enjoyed being a spectator to conflict. It had actually been Hizashi's fault for telling Nemuri the way he felt about you, even though he knew she thought misunderstandings were a spectator sport. "It is my concern!" Hizashi asserts, "please just hear me out, I'm begging you here!" He throws his hands up, "do you want me to get on my knees or something?!" "God I'm a masochist." you turn around. "Fine. Tell me how stupid you think I am, how I never think, how you would have done it better!" You jab his chest with an accusatory finger, "absolve yourself of all guilt when something happens to me, because you warned me so it's not your fault that they're just culling the weak-" "When did I ever say that?!" Hizashi sounds terrified, "is that what you think of me?" Your heart is pounding, your eyes are watering, "What?! No!" You leer back, "Hizashi I think the world of you! Ever since I came here I've just wanted to impress you! For you to tell me I did a good job, that you were glad to have me here, god anything!" You scoff, "instead you always tell me all the stupid things I did wrong!" Hizashi faulters at that he looks at you, your heaving chest and rising shoulders, he could practically hear your heart pounding. "What? I'm standing here, I'm listening, I'm hearing you out and you're just going to stare at me?" "I didn't realize you saw it that way." He holds his hands up, his hero outfit was discarded after the fight, his hands were bare of his usual gloves. "Of course you didn't." You laugh, "you can never do anything wrong, only me."

Vlad was standing at the end of the hall but quickly dissipated into the nearest room. You'd amassed a small but subtle crowd of teachers, poking the heads around corners and out of rooms. The only one who was in direct sight was Aizawa, probably wondering if you were going to punch Hizashi's teeth in. "I wish I never moved here." You scrub your face, "this was such a dumb idea." "Don't say that." Hizashi looks different than you'd ever seen him before, "don't be mean." He looks at a loss for words. It felt mean to say, even this small misunderstanding couldn't hold a candle to your relationship with Hizashi to this point, you became fast friends. He wsa your closest friend and confidant since moving to this side of the country, he met you on a patrol and showed you the ropes. It went beyond work, you had him over weekly, to talk about music, his teaching, American reality shows, whatever you wanted to talk about Hizashi proved a very attentive listener. It was easy to admire him, and even easier to fall in love with him. He was there for you always, when you were homesick, when you failed, and when you succeeded, to say you wish you never met him was a deep and intentional cut. "I'm sorry I didn't...tell you what you wanted to hear." His eyes scan his surroundings looking for something better to say. "Oh fuck you." You scoff, "fuck you so much Hizashi. What a shitty thing to say." You wish you had something to throw at him, "you're so fucking patronizing." "Stop! Why do you always assume the worst of me?" He holds his hand to his chest, "I don't even know what to say right now, I'm fucking grasping at straws here! I didn't know you felt this way, I wish you told me sooner!" "It's always my fault." I'm wrong again. You laugh, "god." "No! It's my fault!" Hizashi takes a step towards you, "it is completely my fault! I was stupid. I am stupid! I was so worried about keeping you safe I didn't let you do your job! I didn't want you to!" He shakes his head, "you're a great hero and that's what freaks me out!" "What?" You blink at him, leering back as his voice raises a bit. "When I saw you laying there, I fucking freaked out!" He gestures back to the courtyard where a villain had laid you out. "I wanted to keep you safe, so I picked you apart, I wanted to close every opening-" He's holding your shoulders, "you aren't weak!" He shakes you a little, "all this stupidness is my fault. I'm falling in love with you and I let it make me throw reason out the window-" He's going, he's still talking, you stopped listening. You're just staring up at him.
"Hizashi-" You're trying to cut him off, "Hizashi stop-" All you can think to do is pull him down into a kiss. It's confused, stiff for a moment until he leans into it. His hands hold onto your wrists by his jaw. "I'm sorry I....must have misunderstood-" For the first time since knowing him he whispers. "It's okay." You shake your head, "I'm sorry too..I didn't think you felt that way I assumed you were getting sick of me.." "I-" He falters, "no. God I, I'd lose it if anything happened to you, if you left me." Your eyes scan his face, his eyes, you knew he was genuine but still your stomach lurched with uncertainty. "I'd never.." You look down at your feet, "can we talk somewhere more...private?" Aizawa's surprised face reminds you of your lack of privacy. "Come with me?" You don't really do that much talking once you're in private. A few words are exchanged, mostly in disbelief, 'are you sure?' "you mean like...?' They're quiet, quieter than you thought he could be, though you figured you'd taken him by surprise.
Shota Aizawa: You felt taken advantage of. He must know how you felt about him, he would be stupid not to. He was your Achilles heel, he could get you to do whatever he wanted. He knew that. Everyone did. "Aizawa will be there." Nemuri would coax you into meetings, outings, whatever. "Do me this favor, please?" He'd look right through you when he said it. You would still do it. Press conferences, public speaking, all the things he hated. You were bent to him, he was a weakness that only you could feel, but everyone else could see. This had just been the last straw. Endeavor was not someone you felt fondly of, everyone knew it, yet you'd spent the whole fight being berated by him, just to "Do me this favor?" Maybe your quirks paired well, that didn't matter, did no one care how you felt? You were strong, you didn't upset easily and yet you felt like your resolve was being chipped away slowly, and today Endeavor had taken a jack hammer to it. Your stomach was a pit, of course you didn't feel like talking to him. You'd thought about it all, the countless failed dates, your desire to build a bridge and get over it. You can't see a future for yourself where you feel fulfilled, lavishing in free will and a heart that's 2 tons lighter. You worried he'd have this hold on you forever, never loving you at all. You were okay with that, which was most crushing of all.
Did your feelings push him away, had he only wanted someone to take under his wing, a friend and teammate but not a lover? Was this his idea of putting distance between you? "Hey." Aizawa holds a hand up to you, "I appreciate what you did today." When you don't stop it makes him tilt his head, he came all the way here to thank you and you couldn't even stop and give him a curt nod? "Hello?" He starts to follow you, he isn't sure why. "Yeah whatever, you're welcome. Thanks for trusting me." It's curt, it's fast and quiet and he barely caught it. "That's it?" He catches you as you wait for your elevator, you decide to take the stairs, "why are you running away from me?" "I'm not running I'm walking." These 8 flights were going to be painful, at least you wouldn't have to stand toe to toe with him in your elevator. "Stop it." "I don't want to talk right now." You shake your head, "Endeavor was too much today. You know I don't like him." "Let's get dinner," He's trying to catch up to you, "let's talk about it okay? I'll get you something to eat and we can talk about, talk about everything." "I'm not hungry." You turn the corner, your voice echoes through the cemented stairwell, making it impossible to mask the way it trembles. "Drinks then, come get a drink with me. Tell me why you're upset, please. We'll have drinks and I'll listen. Tell me what he said to you." "Why do you care?" You clutch the strap to your dufflebag, you didn't even bother to stop at UA to change out of your hero costume, the tight fabric making you feel exposed and silly. "I looked for you at the school and you weren't there. I figured you were upset." "So? I ask again, why do you care?" "Well-" He seems taken aback, "he has no right to make you upset or to be mean to you. I don't want to see you upset because of him. He's just an asshole, tell me what he said I can set the record straight with him. Let's go get drinks, you can tell me and you can cry if you want and say you were drunk and I won't hold it against you. I'll be nice all night and I'll say I was drunk too, so you can't hold it against me." You won't turn back to look at him, if you do your resolve would crack. "Right, only you can be mean to me. Only you get to make me upset." You're resisting the urge to bound up your stairs and lock yourself in your apartment. "What? No, I don't want to make you upset, have I upset you? Tell me what I did." "Why did you make me do this today?" You grit it out, "and everyday, the press conferences, the meetings, the stupid team ups-" "What?" He sounds lost. You slam into every door you come across, you wished they closed faster, slam in his face. "Why do you ask me to do it? Why, when you know I'll always say yes?" "I don't-" "You do!"
"Please," He sounds genuine, almost pleasing, "let's go get drinks, let's talk about it. Somewhere quiet, just me and you." "No I don't want to." You were so close to being there, how could you get a big enough lead to lock yourself up before he could stick a foot in the door? "I don't want to go out with you right now Shota." "Why not?" He's gaining on you, you hate the idea of looking at him right now, even his voice was chipping away at you. "I know you're used to always getting what you want from me but I just need to be by myself right now." "Getting what I want- what?" He sounds bewildered, lost and almost offended, "I'm not understanding you, please stop let's just talk, we don't have to get drinks or food, or even go up to your apartment if you don't want to! We can talk here in the stairs okay? I want to understand, help me understand." He reaches you, his hand is on your arm, "I don't want to upset you, that's the last thing I want. Tell me what I did, yell at me, be mad at me all you want, but tell me what I did so I won't do it again." "You're just always making me do things and everyone is and they just hang you over my head like I'm a dog or a little kid-" "What?" His hand falls off you once you stop in your tracks. "And it's embarrassing!" You shake your head, "I feel stupid, I feel like a fan not your colleague!" The tears are adding insult to injury and you urge them away. "It's always 'Shota needs this, Shota will be there, well think about Shota-' and you. 'Please do this for me' like I ever say no because you know!" "Know what?" He holds his hands up as you spin around. "Everything has been such a wreck since I met you." Your lip quivers, "and I'm so stupid, you could make me do anything and you know it and maybe you just wanted a friend but that's all you had to say!" "I think one of us is misunderstanding something-" "I know!" You drag your palm over the offending tears, "it's not a misunderstanding! I understand!" You're sniffling like a child, "at first it was just an admiration, infatuation, whatever. I'm sure you noticed, it would be impossible not to." You drop your bag too, the extra weight makes you want to crumble. "I didn't even have the resolve to ignore you for 8 flights of stairs. I thought it would go away! I went to see other guys, I met up with tons of guys, heroes, civilians, whoever!" "That's great, it's good that you're branching out I'm just not sure what-" "And there were romantic dates, lovely nights Shota, and- and...I was scared to death the whole time that I'd say your name instead. I was thinking about you, what you would order, what you like to drink, what kind of movies you like. Expensive, perfect dates, and I was thinking about hanging out with you in the teachers lounge." You push him back, he stumbles, he lets it happen. "And everyone is treating me like a fucking teenager about it, and you don't even have it in you to let me down!"
His normally brooding eyes look sympathetic, even when you shove him, "I think I misunderstood." "Misunderstood what? That I love you, and you treat me like a lovesick puppy to run your errands? I love you so much, I don't think I'll ever stop loving you. I'll love you more than anyone I ever meet! You could find me in fifty years when we are wrinkly and old and- and I have 40 grandkids and you could come to me, ask me to leave, to ruin my perfect, perfect life to be with you I would go. And it would be easy Shota." "I thought you were going on dates and branching out for your own..reasons, why would I assume you felt that way when you were going out once a month I didn't-" He looks at a loss, "of course I care about you. I didn't want to get in your way." "What?" You look at him in disbelief, "don't do this to me, don't hurt me Shota please this isn't a game-" "I know it's not- I'm not, I swear I wouldn't-" He sounds almost earnest, "I do care about you, I...enjoy all the time we spent together, and I wouldn't chase just anybody up 7 flights of stairs like this. And the others were..just trying to get us together, they were pushing me to say something to you, do something about the way I was feeling. At first I thought you were just infatuated with me sure, I wrote it off. But you stayed, you were genuine and kind and I liked having your help and I loved having you around, and I'm sorry I made you go out with Endeavor today. You're right, I know you always say yes to me, I should have been more mindful of the way you felt. I was never trying to take advantage of you. I would never want that, I do love you, I wanted you to come to it on your own but this all got so fucked up. So let's go now, okay? I don't want you to stand in this stairwell and cry, let's go get something to drink and we can talk about everything." His eyes never leave your face, "everybody adores you, especially me. I don't want you to think that's not the case-" You kiss him, you practically launch forward at him, like it was the easiest thing in the world. He accepts you just as easily, using the brief moments of reprieve to speak again, "or we could just go upstairs." "Let's just go upstairs."
Sekijiro Kan: "It's all-" you're shoving him, "your fault!" You shove him again, "you always do this!" Again, "why don't you trust me?!" Again, "I had it all under control!" He's nudged back but never off balance, letting you vent your frustrations into his chest, looking down at you a bit annoyed. "You were hurt, you were pushing yourself beyond your limits and I just stepped in-" He holds up his hands, "I do trust you." "I'm not hurt!" Your obvious injuries said otherwise, bruises and gashes scattered your arms, your nose was broken. The villian had gotten away when he stepped in to stop you, you would have broken your ribs or worse. "You were in pain you didn't have a clear head." "How do you know what was going on in my head?!" "I did know! It was nothing!" He finally snaps, "you get tunnel vision-" "So what?! I'm doing my job and who are you to call me dumb?" "I'm not calling you dumb-" "You are!" "Oh god." he rubs his eyes. "Sorry I'm just sooo much for you, it sucks you have to deal with me!" A dig at his choice of wording in the heat of the moment, Nemuri pointed out the struggle, wrapped up in her own, Kan had said he would "go deal with you." It was poor wording even he can admit that, he didn't know it would set you off. "Oh stop." He holds his hand up, "don't throw that back at me you know how I meant it." "I don't! I'm such a burden, I'm so stupid and weak and impulsive and I just want to help Vlad why can't you see I just wanna help?" "I know you do! But you're hurt, you did help! You got hurt though, you can't help anyone when you're out of commission! I was there, I had to stop it, we can catch that guy another time, I'll give it to you-" "you think this is about the arrest?" You leer back at him, "I don't care who arrests him, he's still out on the streets-" "But you're okay-" "It's my job to protect these people, and your's too!" "It's not so black and white." He warns you, "what was I supposed to do, let him kill you?" "Why do you think he would have? Why am I so weak to you? I'm sorry I'm smaller, I'm sorry I'm-" "That's not it, you would do the same for me!" "You're always butting in, always keeping an eye on me, like I'm a fucking chore to you!" "When did I ever say that?!" Sekijiro had been a good friend to you, you aren't sure why but you clicked, you liked the same foods and the same movies and you had the same idea of a good time, when you had a free moment to spare it was Sekijiro you were looking for. Everyone expected it, one day you'd be spotted together hand in hand, he'd mention you in a romantic way, you went together and the tension was palpable sometimes. Maybe you were a bit oblivious, or hot tempered with him at times, you knew about your flaws and you couldn't see a guy like him settling for someone with the issues you had. That being said, you still would chase your tail to impress him. "Please." He holds up his hands as you shove him again, "please be resonable. You know I don't feel that way about you. I don't want to fight I don't want to argue. I was worried about you, I'm sorry." "God now I'm the asshole, perfect."
"No!" He groans, "no I'm not trying to spin it like this. What's really the problem? I know you don't care about the villian, tell me what's the matter, please I can tell it's something else." He even sits down in a chair so he's looking up at you, "I don't want you to be mad at me like this, tell me why." "I just want to impress you! I want to be someone who is just as good as you are-" "You are! You're just as good as me! You're better than me, you're better than the best of us! You know that! Why do you think I don't feel that way?" "You're always jumping in, trying to save me to get me away from the fight to stop me from doing my job and you-I don't wanna be a chore to you!" "You are not a chore!" He sounds exasperated, not angry, "I love to watch you work, and to be around you I love seeing you do what you do and I love to help you, I'm sorry if that makes you think I see you as weak, I don't!" He even feigns crossing his heart. "I want to work with you, beside you because I think you're the best of us, really I do. I'm sorry I let the way I feel about you get in the way of your work." "What do you mean?" You look surprised at him, "what way do you feel?" "What?" "Sekijiro you just said the way you felt about me-" "I..." He looks like a deer in headlights, he furrows is eyebrows, "I guess..I just. I'm always on your case because I like to..be with you, and I can't even think about what I would do if something happened to you. Not because you're weak but because this work is dangerous and unpredictable. If it's too much I'll stop, I don't want to be in the way of your work, you do amazing work, I'm just enamored by it, by you." He shakes his head, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you in the right way." "I'm confused-" Your face is hot, "stop it this isn't funny.." "I'm not being funny, really I'm not. I'm sorry this got so out of hand. I didn't think you'd be so upset with me." "Of course I'm upset with you, why would I want you thinking I can't hold my own why I think so highly of you? When I feel the way I do?" "Are you saying you-" You laugh, "oh I'm sorry." You rub your face, "I'm sorry this is all a big misunderstanding." Your hands move to his shoulders, the side of his neck, "I didn't think you felt that way about me." "You couldn't tell I was falling in love with you? You're all I ever want to talk about." "I'm sorry I shoved you.. a lot." You rest a knee on the chair between his legs, "I'm sorry I got upset before you could explain, I'm thankful you're looking out for me." You don't let him reply before kissing him, he guides you into his lap, hands holding onto your waist. "I'm sorry I was hovering, I'm sorry I doubted you abilities-" "It's fine." You shush him, "We can make it up to each other I'm sure."

How about Tokoyami and Aizawa relationship together? They don’t seem to interact very much but I feel like they would share the same vibe.
You know it’s funny you say that…I have a bit of a controversial opinion on that haha.
Look I love dadzawa content but fanon goes a little off the rails making him a caring and supportive father…this man is not that. He is cold and critical and purposefully discourages his students to weed them out. His actions show more than his words by doing everything in his power to saving them. He does care about them but he does not show it well. He purposely keeps a distance between himself and his students. While tokoyami and aizawa prioritizes rationality above all else that similarity actually strains their relationship more than anything else.
Because tokoyami is so strict on himself and doesn’t allow himself to feel emotional responses to anything the extra criticism from aizawa is encouraging these bad habits. Tokoyami is already so hard on himself for his failures and Aizawa just creates more pressure with his threats of expulsion or reminding him he will die if this is a real battle. Tokoyami already knows this and the stress is slowly breaking him.
This is why he gets along so well with hawks I think. Hawks is very free spirited and encourages a more emotional and even silly side from fumikage. Even if Tokoyami doesn’t realize the reason he feels better around hawks is because he’s actually being more open and emotional. At first hawks ignored him which is a sort of neutral stance but then after tokoyami decided to catch up to him on his own he became encouraging and inspiring. He took him flying, he said he has potential, he said “those who can fly, should fly” and totally flipped Tokoyami’s world view on his head. No one has ever believed in him before, no one ever encouraged him, it was ground breaking.
As far as UAs teachers go Tokoyami actually likes aizawa the least for this reason. A teacher should be someone who encourages you and also pushes you to be better. Aizawa is a “firm hand” and while that may work for other students tokoyami has had far too many of those hands strike him down to feel believed in or even safe around aizawa. He needs a gentle and kind teacher, someone he can feel safe enough to go to for advice and support. In case it wasn’t obvious toko has had lots of problems with teachers in the past and is slightly afraid of them. He has also had problems with heroes. He tries to be on his best behavior around adults in general.
The thing that obviously scares him most about aizawa is his quirk. He doesn’t like when shadow is erased, it makes him nervous and shadow is always a bit disoriented afterwards. He keeps thinking that if aizawa tried to attack him he wouldn’t be able to escape (even if that situation is very unlikely…unless shadow was in a rampage…). He feels bad for not being able to trust aizawa when the man has clearly shown he will do anything to protect his class. He just doesn’t believe Aizawa would protect him specifically :(
Shadow is also afraid of aizawa for the same reasons. No adults have ever listened to them before and Aizawa doesn’t seem very open minded (dark shadow is actually wrong about this assumption). Dark shadow tries to keep from talking in front of him as much as possible. It is inevitable that they would slip up eventually but aizawa seemed surprisingly cool about them being out when they’re not supposed to?? (Shadow you are wrong about him he is nice and understanding I promise). Maybe Aizawa talks to nezu about Dark Shadow and understands a bit better about what they need and how their training should look. Both birds are very surprised when he starts addressing shadow directly in training. It says something about shadows past treatment that even if aizawa is the teacher they don’t like the most that the man still treats shadow with common decency.
Regardless I think toko stays to the shadows of 1-a so to speak so aizawa doesn’t pay much individual interest in him for quite a while. Once shinso joins class 1-a (however you imagine that happening) he has more free time for one on one training so he offers tokoyami a chance for training at night. Tokoyami immediately refuses. Aizawa makes it obvious that it’s not actually a request but an order and tokoyami relents. After getting erased several times in a row shadow is very sluggish and disoriented, after a few more times toko is having trouble getting them to manifest or wake up at all. He doesn’t want aizawa to think he is making excuses so he keeps trying to train without saying anything. Eventually tokoyami also becomes disoriented and passes out and aizawa is very upset toko didn’t mention anything (not to mention worried because he doesn’t actually know what’s wrong).
Once they are feeling better aizawa immediately berates them on keeping their discomfort a secret. Something snaps in toko and he says “why would I tell you anything when I don’t even trust you.” They have to have a long talk about Tokoyami’s frustrations with Aizawa’s teaching style. Even if Aizawa doesn’t suddenly become a reliable and empathetic teacher he is more careful about beating toko down and no longer a direct hinderance to their progress. Maybe shadow even feels good enough to come out during his class~
(This doesn’t have to be the only scenario where a resolution occurs but what’s important is that toko will not say anything about his issues until he is prompted or his hand is forced)
Eventually tokoyami could be forced to talk about his fear openly with aizawa and could be reassured that aizawa would never hurt him. Once again Aizawa would need to be paying close attention to Tokoyami’s behavior and subdued behavior around him. Then he could truly become a reliable figure in tokos life which would be nice.
As far as aizawa’s opinion on tokoyami goes when nezu told him about toko’s…history he was expecting a problem child but toko didn’t seem to stand out at all and never caused any issues. A good but albeit confusing kid. He quickly learns dark shadow is the actual trouble maker and doles out specific punishment for them if they act out. I’m not sure if aizawa is fully aware of how bad it was when toko lost control at the training camp but he did place his room next to aoyama in the dorms so he probably knew something happened.
I just want a final result of aizawa giving him head pats (without him flinching) and shadow coming over to his desk to play with his stapler and capture scarf while toko is trying to take a test and needs to focus.
PS if anyone has any different hcs for aizawa and toko with good reasoning I’d love to hear it!

Trioholders attend Izuku's parent teacher conference AU.
LOL poor Aizawa.
Just 12 hours until Three Weeks of Trioholders begins! And this is my final ask left to answer for the game.
1. Inko catches a cold and can't attend Izuku's parent-teacher conference. Of course Hisashi (cough AFO) is AWOL as usual. Aizawa is about to cancel when three ghosts show up instead. Yoichi figured that as Izuku's uncle, he's qualified to attend (he has not told Izuku about the uncle thing yet.)
2. Aizawa doesn't realize these three are ghosts. In his defense, people are so unusual in the BNHA world that someone with a glowy quirk seems more likely than a dead person showing up at the conference. This is a private conference for just the parents and teachers, so Izuku isn't around to correct the misunderstanding.
3. Yoichi spends the whole conference being the most obnoxiously doting uncle ever and praising Izuku excessively. Second has an attitude of "no one is allowed to criticize Ninth except me" so he disagrees with any critique Aizawa has to offer. Third is the only person doing what he should: listening to what Aizawa has to say, taking notes, and offering solutions for Izuku's frequent injuries.
3. PDA. So much PDA. Aizawa is about to have a mental breakdown from these three acting like teenagers in front of him.
4. Afterward Izuku goes to Aizawa to reschedule the conference when his mom can attend, Aizawa says his uncles already came, and Izuku is very confused because he has no uncles. U.A. has a freakout over a possible security breach.
5. The other vestiges are angry that the trio went without them, so they all show up at the next parent-teacher conference. Aizawa and Nezu are ready and attempt to capture the ghosts. Pandemonium ensues. Nezu recognizes some old heroes, figures it out, and calls off the chase, but Aizawa is still deeply confused about what is going on. Why did one of those intruders look like a misty version of All Might anyway? Shouto Todoroki would have a field day if he knew.

You seem to be having a jjk x KHR interest in the moment so I might as well tell the the crossover idea I've had for a while but be prepared it's a little bit of a crack (or a lot)

So Choso dies like in Canon (if you didn't know . This is JJK , half if not more of the cast are gonna die) . Except rather than go to the afterlife (to torment Gege Akutami in our name) he is instead transported to the KHR world more specifically before a young fresh out of coma 5 year old Tsuna that just wants warmth and hugs and just emotional support that his mom can't provide .
It goes as well as you might respect .
Meaning Tsuna crying and Choso questioning life and being panicked but having somewhat properly trained big brother instinct tries to comfort Tsuna .
It takes a while for things to calm down but it does leave both of them with a resolution . For Choso to be a big brother again , to make sure his new little brother is gonna be fine with everything he has . For Tsuna it's to protect his now big brother , because this right here is someone very important for him and he won't allow anymore important things to be taken away .
And yes the two of them harmonized . Choso is both Tsuna's Cloud and Lightning and will continue to be such for years to come but before that he is Tsuna's older brother .
And yes Choso starts to live in the Sawada house . It doesn't really matter for him if Nana cooks for him but he and Tsuna did have to learn how to cook because there have been a lot of instances of Nana forgetting to either make enough food or just forgetting to make food at all . She is treated more like a housemate rather than a parent .
While living in Namimori Choso mainly focuses on learning basic skills to exist in society like how to start a conversation or just common logic . Also Tsuna while not the Best student is actually really good at studying partially because he needs to explain some things to his brother or just the both of them trying to learn it . It's also helped Tsuna meet one of his future best friends and and boyfriend's Shoichi !
Also imagine how terrifying a parent-teacher conference is with Choso on the other side . The moment anyone says something negative about Tsuna they are getting thrown trow a wall . And I don't mean negative as in constructive criticism I mean as in Nezu situation negative aka bullying .
And the fact that people think that Kyoya is gonna give a fuck what the either of the omnivore siblings is on their tab . Unless they are breaking the rule unprovoked (which is never the case with them) he honestly doesn't give a fuck . They don't mess with his territory so he isn't gonna mess with theirs aka each other . Not to mention the older one is absolutely ready to commit murder and is not doing it only because it would set a bad role model for his younger brother . The younger brother on the other hand will murder you and even if there are somehow witnesses no one is gonna believe them , after all it will be their word against that of one of the school angels .
Needless to say it's terrifying .
And both of them continue to be such until Reborn got into town trying to be the biggest fish in it (he isn't but no one is gonna know for some time) . And Reborn being well Reborn tries to make himself anime tutor except Choso is an actual proper parent figure for his brother and doesn't allow that cursed baby lookalike anywhere near his brother and keeps him out of the house .
Reborn tries to do what he does in canon except it doesn't work because Tsuna is not gonna play to his flute . He also doesn't actually harmonize with anyone of the people Reborn picked in parts due to spite in parts due to incompatibility (this isn't canon all accepting pure sky ready to mold to fit Tsuna , this is very Cloudy Sky Tsuna that doesn't give a fuck for most of humanity other than the people he cares about) .
So things at least somewhat to canon until MafiaLand , more specifically until he met Skull and almost immediately bonded . It was somewhat enlightening for both of them . They did get to speak with no Reborn later and well Skull and Choso hit it of pretty well and seem to be getting along similarly to Tsuna and Skull .
Then the Varia arc happened and Tsuna had to use replacement for his element's because he isn't a full Sky or almost full like Xanxus . So they get a replacement Storm , Rain And Cloud . Thankfully they have them here and he even didn't need to bother his cloud. The Sun round was immediately given up however as Tsuna has no interest in his non-combatant boyfriend being dead . The lightning was the easiest ironically. They also got Hibari in as a compensation for using the city for the battle .
The Sky round was also when the future Vongola Decimo strongest and most loyal ally was made , that ally being Tsunayoshi . Tsunayoshi who proposed that since they are the only heirs to Vongola they either change the rings or just make it so Vongola no longer has rings . That was the moment a legendary cousin relationship was formed . They still beat the shit out of each other and got put into the mindscape ting and had a screaming match with all the previous bosses . It did not end pretty or fast but at least at the end both Giotto and Xanxus got what they wanted . And if someone tries to put Tsuna on the goddam Vongola seat he is gonna burn their corpse .
Then we have the future arc which is actually a parallel universe aka canon and just further solidifies that he doesn't want the seat of Vongola Boss and that he will kill Byakuya for even daring to hurt Skull .
Then the Simon arc and whatever happens happens .
And we finally (i tink) have the Arco arc . Tsuna and Choso hand the Varia and Vindice ass for even daring to go after Skull . And Tsuna and Choso beat some sense into everyone's head to fucking listen because he has a blueprints on how to build a machine capable of keeping the world alive with no sacrifices needed . The only reason this even exist is because his hyper intuition has always whispered in his ear to build something like this so his brother can live with him with no problems . It got implemented as soon as possible because he has like 4-5 clouds if not more ready to go into a rage at his command so everyone listens .
When Skull finally started looking like an adult Choso also finally understand his type . That type being an absurdly overpowered practically pacifists who love motorcycles and can probably take over if not just destroyed the planet . Also with everything happening they are more or less around the same age mentally .
And Tsuna all grown up goes on trips with his friends and family and just being free with his favorite people and being happy and healthy and he can't think of anything better .

I got a prompt for you! Prompt: Tired of the daily abuse he suffers, Izuku makes the choice to run away, hoping for his mother's life to get better once he's gone. Keep in mind this Izuku isn't blinded by the flashiness of heroics and gave up on it a long time ago.
So as Izuku wanders the streets alone, he meets up with some of the future LOV members such as Dabi, Toga, Spinner, Compress, ect.
Together they form a found family with a mission to work their way up to expose hero society and change it for the better (instead of whatever the hell the LOV were doing)
HELLO, I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG, SCHOOL AND MY BRAIN FUCKED ME OVER, BUT Y E S!!!!! I LOVE
Okay, imma be honest, a large part of this is going to involve toga, because I love her so much and she deserves so much better than she got, and she and izuku would’ve been such good friends if they had met earlier
Tw: for bullying and self esteem issues (a lot of self blaming) and as a general rule for my headcanons,,,,,, ✨angst✨
Kaachan and his ✨henchmen✨ had been getting worse lately. Well, ever since his “diagnosis,” it had been getting worse and worse, but izuku was about to reach is breaking point
Every day, he heard about how it was his fault that his father left, that no one loved or cared about him, that the world would be better off without him, that his mother would be better off without him.
He could see how tired she was, he could tell that the bills were starting to stack up, and that kaachan repeatedly busting his hearing aids was Not Helping.
Really, izuku knew they were right (they’re not, I’ll fight them). If he wasn’t such a burden on his mother, she’d probably be a lot happier. She’d probably smile more. Sing more. Hell, her husband wouldn’t have left her if it hadn’t been for him!
His mom worked long hours, so he’d often wander through the streets if he didn’t have too much homework. It was rather peaceful in the early hours of the morning when his mother had the night shift and izuku would find his only friends in the alley cats
That being said, izuku also knew it was rather dangerous in dark alleyways during nightfall. Especially for a quirkless kid. But, that had never stopped him before, and so, when he hears muttering from a few streets over, he silently, curiously, stupidly! Izuku, turn back now! The rational part of his brain reprimanded.
He didn’t listen
Eventually, he found a girl in one alley, only a few turns away from his, she seemed to be taking to herself?
Well. Izuku wasn’t one to judge. Especially when he did the same thing!
But she seemed to be in distress. Her muttering was getting louder, and seemed to be turning into a full on beat down of her own misgivings
Again, izuku could relate
He approached her, asking if she was okay. He made sure to stay several meters away, he might not have much self preservation, but he wasn’t stupid
She looked at him frantically. Oh kami, why did she have a knife?! (Please imagine the vine there) she was telling him to stay back, too
But again, when has izuku ever done what people tell him to?
He tells her his name and tries to reassure her that he’s not going to hurt her, that she’s safe
It takes a while, but she is eventually able to calm down a bit
It’s strange really, two kids who couldn’t have been out of middle school out in the middle of the night. But, they started to talk.
For the first time since he was 4, izuku had someone he could consider a friend? Well. Aside from the cats, of course!
Toga was so kind! And she was just as excitable as him! She really liked cute things, so he decided that he had to show her all the pictures of his alley cat friends!
She. Loved. Them.
He taught her how to get close with them! You just had to be a little patient! She wasn’t the best with that, but that was okay! She would do anything for a friend, and her new friend really liked these cats! So, she could totally be patient for them!!
It was worth it too! They were so cute, and izu-Chan looked even cuter holding them!! (Not an izutoga ship, she just loves cute things)
The two young teens (I imagine they’re like,,, 13 and 14 around now? Maybe 14 and 15? Toga runs away after she graduates middle school at 15, so like,,,, around there), as the weeks go on and they get to know each other, toga begins to open up about her family’s hatred and suppression of her quirk, and izuku tells her about his quirklessness, the bullying, and the stress he puts on his mother
She is incredibly protective of him. That’s her little brother/best friend/only person who cares about her/her person.
He’s the same with her, really, just shows it a bit differently. Has 1000000% written 100+ page PowerPoints on how once she is and that she can do anything she puts her mind to
She’s more action and physical based. She’s very affectionate, she hugs him as often as she can. They’re both touch starved, and she knows she’s not the best with words. So, she steals shit for him.
He doesn’t know that it’s stealing at first, when she shows up with a new notebook after kaachan burned another one. She doesn’t get why he’s so worried about her stealing at first. It’s only from big companies and corporations that could afford to lose a few notebooks every now and then. He just doesn’t want her to get caught though. But she’s safe! Really!!
They find Dabi a few months later. He’s older than them by 7 and 8 years respectively, and he’s kind of an asshole. But toga likes his spunk and disregard for the rules. And izuku likes that he doesn’t care about quirks
Dabi and toga shit talk katsuki and I will not be told otherwise. Izuku feels bad at first, but they kinda put it into perspective of like, “how would you feel if he was doing/saying this stuff to/about us?” And izuku just like >:0
Obviously it took a while, and he still doesn’t know that they made shirts with katsuki’s face in the 🚫 sign, but I like to imagine that they show up to pick izuku up from school wearing them and bakugku had a conniption
Toga and izuku don’t actually run away until toga’s graduation from middle school
Some of her classmates pulled a really asshole prank on her and she had a panic attack. She ran away from the ceremony thing and was later found by a frantic izuku and dabi (her brothers)
She told them that she couldn’t go back. That her parents were mad at, no, disgraced by her
Dabi was mad. “More bitch ass parents. The worlds just fucken’ full of them”

He offers to kill them for her. Izuku tells him no :( shame.
Let’s just say that this is around the time bakugou says his infamous “swan dive” comment and the sludge villain incident (I know I think both toga running away and that whole deal would happen around the relative same few months, so let’s just push them together! Why not!)
And the three decide to pull a little disappearing act
Well. Mainly toga and izuku. Dabi pulled his disappearing stunt a while ago. He gives them pointers. Dramatic bitch
Let’s be real, the three of them are all dramatic bitches
Izuku leaves a letter to his mom, explaining that he’s sorry for putting her in such a difficult place, and that he hopes she can find happiness, and that he’ll miss her.

They end up crashing a couple towns away in an abandoned building. Not very safe, but. Abandoned. Sooo
Toga says that the building is just like them
Abandoned
Dabi tells her not to look too deeply into it, but izuku thinks about that statement a lot
Spinner and dabi both have like… 0 respect for heroes. -10 actually. But, spinner is quite interested by these three vagabond’s plan to expose corrupt heroes and make society a better place, so, he tags along.
Mr. Compress catches dabi trying to pick pocket someone.
It goes badly </3
Dabi’s slight of hand just needs a bit of practice, and who’s better to teach him than a world class thief?
No one. That’s who.
Mr. Compress cannot believe he’s going to have to parent these teens and young adults. Fuck man. Can he leave now? He didn’t ask for this, he just wanted to share some tricks to the next generation of thieves, now he’s listening to this green child explain their plot for world domination?!
Oh, what’s that? It’s not world domination? Fine. Guess he’s going to teach these four how to steal shit because he will not be caught dead with criminals who don’t know how to complete a heist
Obviously, they go after endeavor first.
They take great joy in destroying him.
What?? Just because they aren’t the league of villains doesn’t mean our vigilante crew doesn’t enjoy some sweet sweet revenge on those who have hurt their little make shift family!
Mr. Compress is not a dad. He’s just not.
Did he show izuku all his masks and listen to the boy nerd out about them and their different histories and design origins? Yes. Did he think it was adorable? Yes.
That means nothing though and you can’t prove anything!

Nezu has heard whispers of their little group, and is quite excited to see how everything plays out!

I think the key differences between FtE Aizawa and SnS Aizawa is laziness and the motivation and bias about Izuku. Both did not read the student profiles and had different circumstances in the past that led them to their conclusions. If I recalled, Nezu in both verse told him that he was not allowed to expel without due cause(or anyone in S&S at least).
FTE Aizawa was given critical information via Monoma that Izuku is a late bloomer. Likewise, due to the Star Heart incident happening in Japan and making Rescue Points required , Bakugo is not there thus there is less bias towards the kid with the perceived villainous Quirk of Explosion. Thus when Aizawa had to think about helping Izuku, he thinks about good ways of using other heroes and won’t expel him. This train of thought ends up helping him as Izuku more-or-less saved his life at the USJ, got control of his Quirk, and mostly avoided the wrath of lawyer Inko. He has no motivation to get rid of Izuku now and is glad that he never did it because of his laziness.
S&S Aizawa was motivated to get rid of Izuku because he believes that Izuku was lazy to train his Quirk. Tenya getting injured was an easy excuse to get rid of Izuku via public opinion since he was forbidden to expel anyone. It’s just that this time, his laziness backfires on him as people did not react the way he thinks and that UA’s and the HSPC’s report on the issue contradicts his and Tensei’s statements.
It's also, to be blunt, from a meta standpoint I needed one to be a plot device rather than a character (Sticks and Stone's verse Aizawa). That's why a lot of his worst traits are amplified (and well in the start of the year he did have a lot of issues that Hori has either smothered or downplayed as time went on [re: we went way, way too long before getting the 'oh yeah he immediately re-enrolls them' thing with 2-A and that's very clearly a retcon plus even with the girl's 'oh yeah this was helpeful!' claim her classmates clearly look at her like she's nuts]).
Yes he's indeed told in both universes he can't expel students the way he had in the past! Though I will note Nedzu would have approved an expulsion based on how Bakugou attacked Izuku during the QAT in S&S, that would have been a completely justifiable one. The 'wake up call' expulsion ran too many risks with the sort of students in the present 1-A (wealthy heiress, three successors of major legacies, etc). Like how do you think Endeavor at least would have reacted?
Number Two has one hell of a microphone after all.
But yes Aizawa in FtE, in light of the pre-story start events (Star Heart Incident) and the start of story events (the rescue point thing) mean in general he is going to have a somewhat more positive perspective even just going into dealing with a kid like Izuku. Again, they've just had a major demonstration of the danger of showboats (the gloryhog heroes) versus someone more focused on saving people (Legacy). Yes she was certainly focused on taking Star Heart down, but she was also willing to allow the distraction of rescuing civilians/trying to help everyone as well as trying to take down a villain she's been battling with anyway for the better part of twenty years. So Aizawa's already more willing to be open minded/is almost immediately made aware of the issue (the stockpile/Izuku's reaction making it clear his Quirk had only recently come in) versus allowing a bias to immediately build (making the assumption he hasn't bothered training his Quirk rather than it's just that Izuku only just got it).
There's a reason for the expression 'assume makes an ass out of you and me'.
Another fun thing with the S&S verse is it's also a good means of looking at how as an underground hero Aizawa's ability to get media manipulation just isn't as good as it would be if he was someone in the press all the time. He's more used to avoiding the media. Here he's also making bad guesses on how others would react (to some extent he was assuming All Might as a new teacher wouldn't want to deal with the stress of dealing with a student so clearly 'incapable' of using his Quirk and thought Nedzu would put trust in his judgement being perfect and guessed very wrong in both cases, along with wildly misjudging how people would react to Tensei's words)

A Talking To
Summary: Shinsou's homeroom teacher wants to talk to him about training for heroics. It doesn't go how anyone would expect.
Note: This was an exercise for me in trying to write a character I like (Shinsou) critically. It is Shinsou Critical and uses an OC to do so. It does not go as far as some fics do, but I had a good time trying this out.

 Shinsou Hitoshi had been waiting for a few minutes when his homeroom teacher finally showed up to her office. Gas Attack, or GA-Sensei as most called her, looked at him apologetically. 
 “Sorry Shinsou, had to deal with some crap thanks to the internships coming up,” she said. The very tall and muscular woman opened her office to reveal a simple room with a desk and chairs. Gas Attack was one of the few teachers who had their own office, with most preferred the more traditional style of sharing. Hitoshi knew though that Gas Attack’s Quirk was behind her sole office. Poison Gas had her only ever breathing out deadly clouds, meaning for safety reasons she didn’t share an office so she could eat comfortably. 
 “I heard some heroes were offering internships to Gen Ed,” Hitoshi said as causally as he could. He hoped that was the reason for his meeting.
 “Second year students yeah.” Gas Attack said crushing his hope. The woman let him into her office, following after. She sat at her desk, removing her tank from her back so she didn’t have to sit uncomfortably. “Alright Shinsou. Do you know why I asked to meet with you?” 
 “No,” Hitoshi said. It had been sudden, her request, but he didn’t think it would be like that time with his teacher in middle school who wanted Hitoshi to mind control someone else. 
 “Shinsou… you’re aware you’re on wait list with the rest of your classmates correct?” Gas Attack asked. 
 Hitoshi scowled at the reminded he’d failed the entrance exam because the stupid exam was stacked against people like him. who had Quirks that didn’t work against robots. Only to stop. “Wait what?” the rest of his classmates?
 “… Shinsou, you do know class C is the class for students like yourself who applied for Gen Ed and heroics, and who got wait listed for the heroics program right?” Gas Attack asked. “I know Nezu and I both talked about it at the beginning of the year. Though I’ll admit that orientation got very long…”
 “I… no.” Hitoshi could admit he hadn’t been paying attention. To bitter. “How did Ito not get in?” He couldn’t help but ask, mentioning the girl with laser eyes.
 “Same way you didn’t. She failed the exam.” Gas Attack said. “I know you students seem to be fond of complaining about how unfair the exam is, and I’ll give you that it is biased towards flashy Quirks but we have an invisible student in 1A this year, and a student who just talks to animals. If you’re smart, cunning and skilled the exam can be passed.” 
 Hitoshi nearly flinched. His mom had posed a question to him after watching the sports festival, if he was so certain he’d failed the exam because of his Quirk being a bad match up, how did Hagakure get in. The boy hadn’t been able to answer. 
 “I suppose this actually explains a few things to…” Gas Attack muttered. 
 “What?” Hitoshi asked.
 “Shinsou, why haven’t you taken advantage of the gyms here? Why haven’t you approached me or any of your other teachers about advice for training?” Gas Attack asked. 
 “… what?” Hitoshi repeated, baffled.
 “Shinsou, it was all in your syllabus. Please tell me you didn’t just ignore it,” Gas Attack said in a very disappointed tone as Hitoshi squirmed. He’d thrown it out the first day, to angry at being denied a place in heroics. “This explains everything I wanted to ask at this meeting.” Gas Attack sighed. 
 “What was this meeting about?” Hitoshi asked. If she'd already made up her mind, something had to be going on.
 “There are three ways people can become a hero at this school. Start off in heroics, transfer in or receive specialized training to gain a recommendation for the licensing exams.” Gas Attack explain. “Also explained during orientation.”
 “You just said it was long,” Hitoshi said in embarrassment he'd missed that. “I doubt anyone else heard it.”
 “Six of your classmates approached me about gym time and training plans. Three asked about apprenticing with someone and one has already been offered special training,” Gas Attack said. “When I was asked about you I said I didn't think you were ready and so far nothing has proven me wrong.” 
 “What?!” Hitoshi jumped up. “How can you say that?! I got into the final round of the sports festival and it was just because of that monkey and perf-Quriked-”
 “Shinsou, do not use slurs in front of me!” Gas Attack said, her voice carrying. He froze, eyes widening when he realized what he'd just said in front of a teacher. Shit.
 “I… I didn't mean it. I was just angry.” he said quietly as he sat back down. He didn't mean it. It was just… easier to use those as descriptions. He didn't mean them meanly. 
 He wasn't a bad person. 
 “Don’t lie,” Gas Attack sighed. Hitoshi flinched. “I don't think you're actually anti-mutation like you just hinted but I do think you're pretty damn Quirkist Shinsou.”
“What?!” Hitoshi felt hurt by that. He wasn't Quirkist! How could his sensei say that?! He thought he had a teacher who understood him given the first day of classes she laid out who she was. Government Hero Gas Attack, part of the military and used as a last resort when death was the only remaining option. She was on a watch list because of the risk of her Quirk. He thought she understood.
 “Present Mic was muzzled for most of his childhood. He's talked about it openly yet last week I heard you talking about how he doesn't understand discrimination after he told you off for commenting on Ito’s complaints about her eyes.” Gas Attack said. Hitoshi remembered that. Ito complained about the stinging in her eyes which led to her complaining about how people reacted to her Quirk. He'd said she should shut up about Quirk issues. Then Present Mic and…
 Hitoshi had forgotten about that. That Present Mic was muzzled for a portion of his life. Because people didn't like his Quirk. 
 “You complained about Cementoss telling you off about using your Quirk on your teammates in the Calvary battle and said he doesn't understand how hard it is with your Quirk when he's been buried alive by classmates for his. All of this is public knowledge Shinsou. I know you know it.” Gas Attack said. Hitoshi remembered that to.
 Cementoss told him it wasn't heroic to brainwash people to work for him, that doing so showed a lack of teamwork. Hitoshi had been angry. What did the man know about having people refuse to work for him? It happened all the time. But… he forgot about the interview on why the man was scared of enclosed spaces. How his classmates hated him that much. 
 Yet that… that wasn't…
 “Its not the same!” Hitoshi said and it wasn't. They were treated like crap sure but it wasn't like how he'd been treated by people! They didn't understand how it was to have to face fellow students refusing to answer questions, teachers nudging people to make sure they weren't controlled or people trying to convince him to use his Quirk for their benefit! They didn't understand had it was for him.
 “What about me?” Gas Attack asked. “My parents abandoned me at age five and I bounced around the foster system which tormented me. I'm on a watch list just in case and I have to eat alone because of my Quirk. I have to routinely go in when murders happen around my place to show I didn't do it even as a hero. Do I not understand how it is with a Quirk people call villainous?” 
 “I never…” Hitoshi stopped. “I’m not Quirkist.”
 “Using a slur sure says you are and despite what you think? Perf-Quirk is a slur used against people who have traditionally attractive Quirks. Meanwhile you have no idea what goes on behind closed doors.” Gas Attack said. “I had an army friend who had a super strength Quirk. Flashy, cool. Her husband used to beat her and assault her every time he could. She killed him when he tried to hurt their son. Another friend of mine has a Quirk that let her sing perfectly. She was forced by her parents to be a teen idol where she faced sexual abuse as well as physical before she ran away to join the army.”
 “I…” it wasn't like that. Kids like Midoriya or that Bakugou asshole got everything in life while Hitoshi only ever got looks and people edging away. Sure, he'd never been physically harmed. His mom would murder anyone who did that, but he never had a comfortable childhood with lots of friends. His own dad got uncomfortable with his Quirk all the time. 
 “It's the same thing.” Gas Attack said. She learned forward in her desk. “I think you're a good kid with heroic potential. I also think you're a bit Quirkist and someone who needs to realize you can't just use your Quirk and expect results.” 
 “You think I can be a hero?” asked Hitoshi softly.
 “I do, expect you focus on that,” Gas Attack sighed. “I said a teacher asked if you were ready for specialized training. I said no due to my worries. They said I was wrong and I said I'd set up a meeting for this.” she motioned to the two of them. “I was actually hoping you'd prove me wrong, and that I could sign off on you receiving training. However Im not.” 
 “Please! I'll do anything to be a hero,” Hitoshi begged. She couldn't deny him this. He wanted to be a hero more then anything! He'd earned it! He got so far into the sports festival! Not like Ito and her stupid eyes or the dog faced… 
 Hitoshi froze, his mind realizing what he'd just done. Another Quirkist comment was made in his mind. What…
 Gas Attack couldn't be right. She couldn't be. She just couldn't. 
 “Therapy,” Gas Attack said. “We have ten therapists on staff, I arranged for a meeting with one of them.” she grabbed some paper from her desk. “Plus I want you to show me you're dedicated before I sign off on anything. So there's a training program for you. Follow it. We’ll talk more in the second semester.” she handed the papers to Hitoshi who clutched at them desperately. He wasn't Quirkist. He was a good person, better then so many others. He'd show her! He would!
 He had to.

 Gas Attack sighed as she entered the staff room. Aizawa was waiting like a vulture for her, Present Mic and Midnight sitting with him. 
 “Who was right? I was. Kid is nowhere near ready if he's calling a mutation kid names and saying shit like perf-Quirk.” she said to Aizawa who stared at her in shock.
 “Oh shiiiiit,” Mic muttered, though he didn't seem surprised. Kid’s comments to him were probably fresh in his mind. Kid just had to whine that Ito, who could go blind, didn't know anything about hard Quirks. 
 Teenagers, thinking they're the center of the world.  
 “That can be treated while training,” Aizawa said.
 “It can be if he'd showed dedication to training himself before,” Gas Attack went to sit down with the three. “He outright admitted he hadn't paid attention or read the syllabus. Kid was unaware that C is the waitlist class or anything.” 
 “Wow.” Midnight said. “I mean I think a lot of people don't but like shouldn't he try to pay attention if he wants to get into heroics?”
 “Youd think. Honestly, I think the kid will be a good hero. He's just in the bad habit of relying on his Quirk to much and having a victim complex. And he's pretty Quirkist against people he views as having acceptable Quirks. Hopefully he grows out of it.” Gas Attack shrugged.  “I was surprised you wanted to train him given how much you claim to hate people coasting by with their Quirks.”
 “Claim?” Aizawa asked, catching her word usage. Good.
 “Yes claim. After all, that Bakugou kid in your class may work out but he certainly seems to think having a strong Quirk is all you need as a hero.” Gas Attack said. “Hell Nezu sent me his file, shows how worried he is about it.”
 “… oh fuck,” Aizawa said, covering his face.
 “Whats wrong?”
 “I read the files during the second week so I don't have biases going in. Other then medical files I mean, I know about Kaminari’s ADHD and the such. But…”
 “Oh shit.” Gas Attack said. “Wondered why the kids haven’t been in extra lessons or something. Hell I was surprised Bakugou hasn't been put in my class for a wake up call while you go around claiming a mark is on his record to scare him.”
 “… I need to read those files.” Aizawa sighed.
 “Should have first week of class,” Gas Attack said blandly, causing the man to flip her off. She grinned in reply. 
 “You gotta be more on top of this shit Shou,” Mic sighed.
 “I know, I know,” Aizawa groaned. 
 “Do you?” Midnight asked sarcastically. “Cause it's every year.” 
 “Shut up,” Aizawa sighed. “GA, want me to try and see if Shinsou would go and get special training without permission?”
 “Now? Kid would, he's a dumbass teenager,” Gas Attack snorted. “Give it a few weeks, see if he's still desperate after a couple of sessions.”
 “Think he'd learn that fast?” Aizawa asked.  
 “Eh, maybe maybe not. If he doesn't it'll be second year before I even think about speaking of extra training.” Gas Attack shrugged. “We’ll have to see. But you need to read the files and look into the kids who want to be underground. Why the hell were you looking at Shinsou for that?” 
 “… can we blame lingering concussion?”
 “No.”

Notes:
 Shinsou does not fall for the trap and instead works his butt off. He gets the training with Aizawa who is also training Ashido, Shouji, Tokoyami and Midoriya! 
 Aizawa also does read the files and make his apologies to Izuku cause Holy shit he fucked up. Bakugou is watched closely and he fails the final exam for hitting Izuku (they were put together with Izuku’s permission). He then flunks the extra lessons for leaving the cabin to try and fight when they warned them all to stay inside. He's put into class C, and the empty spot in 1A is fought over by the ten students who were already trying. Shinsou doesn't get a spot just yet, but he does eventually much later.
-Gas Attack is an OC who was used because Japan usually has the homeroom teachers only do homeroom and because I wanted a character who has been heavily hurt by how society views their Quirk. Gas Attack is always being second guessed and only joined the military along with heroics in the words of Kaiden Alenko: ‘might as well get a paycheck for it’ because they're watching her anyways. She's been retconned slightly by me for reasons.
-One of my biggest pet peeves when reading Shinsou critical stuff is how they write him as a complete monster who'd use his Quirk on everyone for stupid reasons. He's a jerk, but hot damn are you doing exactly what you say his stans are doing which is making things up to make him seem a certain way. Sympathetic or monstrous. Either or. 
-It's hard for Shinsou to argue against him not working out so I had him mostly focus on the response of Quirkism. He's very stubborn but he does see where Gas Attack is coming from and hates it.
-I don’t think Shinsou would double down after this. Rather I think he'd be so determined to prove GA wrong he realizes she's right and tries to be a better person. 
-Aizawa isn't the center of this piece but I included him for more detail. He’s at least aware he fucked up even if it's because of his injuries. 
-I also retconned the kids actually having a mark on their record cause that’s just awful. They scare the kids with it which isn't much better but once they become better they tell the truth.
