🇵🇸 … September 4 — true reality in a far away land!!
By: Abdelrzaq Al-Rababah, Dynamic Business Specialist, Export Strategies, from LinkedIn …
“In one year, Israel has killed well over 41,500 Palestinians in Gaza, including mothers, fathers, children, doctors, nurses, aid workers, first responders, journalists, disabled Palestinians, and elderly Palestinians.
Israel has dropped US-made, 2000-lb bombs on apartment blocks and refugee camps alike, killing entire families at once. Israel has violently invaded hospitals and schools, killing Palestinians in their only places of refuge. And Israel has subjected all 2+ million Palestinians in Gaza to an entire year of forced starvation and deprivation from basic necessities, like clean water, cleaning supplies, and medicine.
As Israel continues to kill countless Palestinians daily, its destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure and healthcare system have made it impossible for Palestinians to count their dead.
Medical professionals and UN officials warn that the official death toll of 41,500 represents a severe undercount and 96,359 injured in Israeli attacks since October.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to bomb entire apartment blocks in Lebanon, killing over 1,000 people in the past week alone.
Palestinian and Lebanese people shouldn’t have to endure another day of this. It’s past time for Biden to end US weapons to Israel.” … 🇵🇸

Calling ICC prosecutor “antisemitic” unacceptable – Borrell
Labelling the ICC prosecutor as an “antisemitic” is unacceptable, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell declared on Monday.
We have to respect the work of this institution and let the court without intimidation decide what they think about this initiative… I think that the accusation of antisemitism against the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is completely not acceptable.
ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan asked the court to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on May 20. He argued that they are criminally responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
In response, Netanyahu said the arrest warrant application was “a new form of antisemitism moving from university campuses to the ICC.”
Borrell argued that the international community should “ask for the implementation” of the judgement of the International Court of Justice.
What we have seen in the immediate hours is that Israel continues the military action that has been asked to stop… This morning, … more than 30 people have been killed in a refugee camp in an attack. This is really a dilemma.
The chief diplomat added that he would propose “to relaunch our civilian border system mission” in Rafah during the Brussels meeting.
We have been asked to activate this mission … and we need to have an agreement with everybody involved. We will not go there without a strong commitment from the Palestinian Authority.

and they can't deny that it's an apartheid 💀 the ICJ ruling and ICC ruling is proof enough as it is, like come ON. bffr.
respect to the people that are carrying the palestine flags and the genocide Olympic flags though
this is what the IOC chief said :
“the situation between Israel and Palestine is completely different.”
and he (Thomas Bach) was talking about Russia and Israel.
sources:
dude is dumb as fuck, let's see: Israel is committing a genocide and russia is invading a country... hmmm
man this is hard! but then again, a genocide is TOTALLY normal!! /sar
south africa was banned in the olympics in 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 & 1992. a total of 8 times. for 28 years they didn't set foot in the olympics. you know why? apartheid. apparently the olympics disagreed with the apartheid regime in south africa. russia & belarus aren't allowed to take part in the olympics this year. you know why? because of their involvement in the war in ukraine. several countries throughout history haven't been allowed to participate in the olympics because of various reason from their involvement in war to human rights abuses. now if the olympics aren't blind to all that... why in the world are they blind to what israel has been doing to gaza for the past 10 months? why is a genocidal apartheid nation allowed to participate in the olympics when any other country in its place would've been banned?

I need you all to understand what the ICJ (international court of justice) is. What it is not is the ICC (international criminal court).
The ICC has limited powers and ways to enforce law at the best of time. The ICJ is basically the equivalent of an international civil court, it has far less power. If you’ve ever had/known any civil court ruling, you know that enforcement can be hard.
I am not saying this ruling doesn’t matter, I hope it will further help shift attitudes in politics and ‘centred/neutral’ zionists, but please keep your expectations in reality. The ICJ can’t really do anything.

Because I got asked by more than one person regarding the ICJ case, where South Africa was libeling Israel, then asking for (and getting denied) an extension to find evidence for its libel. They just submitted their case, it's apparently 750 pages long (but just because they talk a lot doesn't mean they're filing anything of substance. We saw the kind of misquotes of what non-policy makers said South Africa has presented as evidence before). Israel has until July 2025 to respond. I doubt we'll have any kind of ruling until 2026...
Tumblr media
But that's kind of the point. It takes two seconds to wrongfully accuse someone of a crime they didn't commit, it takes years to prove it wasn't committed by them, and in the meantime, the very discussion of the case in a court can be used to create the impression that the crime was indeed committed. It takes two seconds to destroy and a lifetime to fix and rebuild, and South Africa's current government, which had been accused of corruption and incompetence, has been hellbent on destroying Israel to divert attention away from its own failings. Just like the ICC's chief prosecutor, who suddenly asked for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders exactly when it turns out he needed attention away from allegations against him for sexual misconduct.
Tell me you're wrongfully accusing Jews of heinous crimes, and I'll know you've got an unclean conscience.
Oh, and this is your periodical reminder that the UN is complicit.
In fact, since I mentioned that... you know how the world is raging about the UN's "peacekeeping" force in Lebanon, UNIFIL?
Yeah, they're complicit, too. And I say this from firsthand experience. I served on the border of Lebanon. The complicity was well known.
To give you just one example, UNIFIL soldiers would regularly touch the border fence on its Lebanese side "accidentally" (it happened way too often and too regularly to be an accident). It was pretty obvious that they were doing this because they knew IDF regulations stipulated that Israeli soldiers HAD to respond in person to every such incident, no matter what. Middle of the night? Doesn't matter, we had to get out of bed and respond. A storm's raging outside? Doesn't matter, we had to go out there. We knew it was UNIFIL, and not terrorists? Still, for the sake of Israeli citizens' security, we had to go respond to each incident as if we didn't know that. It was evident that UNIFIL was at best using this little trick to harass the soldiers of the Jewish state. After all, when roughly a quarter of the adult global population is antisemitic, and the "peacekeepers" of UNIFIL came from all over the world, that antisemitism would be expressed in how members of UNIFIL would act. However, it was pretty clear to most of us that this was the best case scenario, but that most likely, it didn't end there, and that UNIFIL was doing this because it provided Hezbollah with valuable info on IDF procedures and alertness. How long did it take us to respond? How many soldiers would arrive on the scene? How would they arrive? Was this influenced by any external conditions, such as the weather? And so on... Keep in mind that Hezbollah has managed to kill and kidnap Israeli soldiers on this border more than once. This was the info that allowed those crimes.
This is just a sliver of my personal account, there are undoubtedly many articles out there on the complicity of UNIFIL. For example, as the war with Hezbollah moved into a ground operation in Lebanon, the IDF has exposed Hezbollah tunnels and command centers built right under the "watchful eye" of UNIFIL, the organization that was supposed to keep that antisemitic terrorist organization in check. (vid below is from Israeli journalist Itay Blumental, of Kann News)
Because the UN is complicit. It is rotten to the core, it is infected with antisemitism, so every single one of its branches dealing with the Jewish state is infected, too.

What’s happening in Gaza is not genocide, US president says
US president Joe Biden on Monday sought to reassure Jewish voters that he stands firmly on Israel’s side, calling for the complete defeat of Hamas and condemning the International Criminal Court’s assertion that Israeli leaders are guilty of war crimes in the Gaza campaign, POLITICO reports.
Biden said during a speech in the Rose Garden:
“What’s happening is not genocide. We reject that.”
Pledging to continue working “around the clock” to free the remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas, the president avoided criticising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to launch a larger invasion of Rafah, emphasising instead his continued support for Israel. Biden also added:
“I will always ensure Israel has everything it needs to defend itself against Hamas and all their enemies. We stand with Israel to take out [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar and the rest of the butchers of Hamas. We want Hamas defeated; we will work with Israel to make that happen.”
The speech in honour of Jewish Heritage Month marked a clear attempt to mend the increasingly strained relationship between the president and the Jewish community. For months, the president has tried to navigate the complex domestic politics of the war between Israel and Hamas, offending progressives with his staunch support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then angering pro-Israel Democrats by refusing to deliver heavy bombs that he believes will only exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
This latest decision, which coincided with invitations to Monday’s meeting, created an unfavourable backdrop for the event, with Jewish Democrat leaders, donors and strategists expressing disappointment that Biden chose to announce his threat to withdraw specific aid from Israel less than a day after his Holocaust remembrance speech, when he declared his unwavering support for the country and condemned a “ferocious upsurge” in anti-Semitism.

An illegal toxic dump site in Croatia, the theft of water from a major aquifer in southern Spain, illegal trading of ozone-depleting refrigerants in France: This is just a sampling of the environmental crimes that European countries are struggling to stop. The lack of accountability for these acts stems in part from the European Union’s legal code, which experts say is riddled with vague definitions and gaps in enforcement. That’s about to change.
Last week, EU lawmakers voted in a new directive that criminalizes cases of environmental damage “comparable to ecocide,” a term broadly defined as the severe, widespread, and long-term destruction of the natural world. Advocates called the move “revolutionary,” both because it sets strict penalties for violators, including up to a decade in jail, and because it marks the first time that an international body has created a legal pathway for the prosecution of ecocide.
“This decision marks the end of impunity for environmental criminals and could usher in a new age of environmental litigation in Europe,” wrote Marie Toussaint, a French lawyer and EU parliamentarian for the Greens/European Free Alliance group, on X...
The new directive uses the term “ecocide” in its preamble, but does not criminalize the act by laying out a legal definition (the most widely accepted definition of ecocide was developed by an international panel of experts in 2021). Instead, it works by providing a list of “qualified offenses,” or crimes that fall within its purview. These include pollution from ships, the introduction of invasive species, and ozone depletion...
The new law holds people liable for environmental destruction if they acted with knowledge of the damage their actions would cause. This aspect of the law is important, experts said, because it means that a permit is no longer enough for a company to avoid culpability.
“If new information shows that behavior is causing irreversible damage to health and nature – you will have to stop,” a member of the European Parliament from the Netherlands, Antonius Manders, told Euronews.
Advocates like Mehta hope that the EU’s move will have influence beyond Europe’s borders. The principal goal of the Stop Ecocide campaign is for the International Criminal Court to designate ecocide as the fifth international crime that it prosecutes, after crimes against humanity, war crimes, crimes of aggression, and genocide. At the moment, environmental destruction can only be prosecuted as a war crime at the ICC, and limitations in the law make this extremely difficult to do...
Kate Mackintosh, the executive director of the Netherlands-based UCLA Law Promise Institute Europe, told Grist that the ICC is unlikely to adopt an ecocide law if other countries do not do so first.
“It’s not something you can just pull out of thin air,” she said, adding that any international legal doctrine has to have a precedent on the national level. “That’s the way states are going to accept it.”
The EU’s 27 member states will have two years to adapt the new legislation into their penal codes. Afterwards, their implementation must be reviewed and updated at least once every five years using a “risk-analysis based approach,” to account for advancements in experts’ understanding of what might constitute an environmental crime. Mehta said that despite its omission of some important offenses, the law sets an important example for other countries. Several days before the EU vote, Belgium adapted its criminal code to include the directive, making it the first country in Europe to recognize ecocide as a crime.
The ruling “shows leadership and compassion,” Mehta said. “It will establish a clear moral as well as legal ‘red line’, creating an essential steer for European industry leaders and policy-makers going forward.”
-via Grist, March 6, 2024
