#Neo Swords for Smash!

If Ayumi joins Smash she should have a set of conversations similar to Snake’s codex and Palutena’s guidance where she talks to Robin, her crew chief from Blue Storm. Add in the other fighters I want in Smash and she can find it really interesting that Wake can walk on water and wonder whether Robert is her distant descendant. Plus I’m sure she finds Squirtle adorable and Greninja cool (alongside anyone else associated with water) and Robin can warn her about some of the more dangerous fighters (including the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords). And maybe she’s also really interested in seeing if Falcon really is a better racer than her. And since I haven’t mentioned her yet, maybe she’s interested in meeting the Mach Rider (bonus points if she mistakes the Mach Rider for being from the F-Zero Universe because presumably someone’s gotta make that mistake)

Pyrrha and Cinder were running blindly, hand in hand, through the dark forests of Mistral. Everything was going to plan at Haven. They were close to the second relic and Pyrrha was poised to steal the Spring Maiden's powers. Her former peers where no match for her team, and they would have soon eliminated their meddling if not for... him and her.

She could still see his eyes, shining like moonlight off the ocean. The door had been smashed inward and everything stopped when he appeared. It was apparent that her former peers had not seen Jaune in some time, as they were just as shocked as they were.

"Found you." was all he said as he drew his sword.

Even the memory of those words sent a shiver down her spine.

Then she also appeared. The sound of shattering glass, from the top of the stairs announcing her arrival. The only other figure besides Jaune, that Cinder and Pyrrha dreaded seeing. Neo was on the move a second later, snarling her teeth bared as she went straight for Cinder. Jaune made his own charge a fraction of a second later.

Mercury and Emerald instantly moved to counter the attacks. It was a mistake. Neo and Jaune were not Ruby and the others. They weren't out to defeat Pyrrha, Cinder and their allies. They were out for blood. Blood that translated to death.

Cinder!" Pyrrha screamed at her lover, as two very one sided battles, began and ended just as quickly. Mercury tried to be cocky, making a show of throwing a deadly kick. Jaune didn't even flinch as he drove his shoulder into the grey haired young man. Mercury gasped as the breath was knocked from his lungs, and grunted as he impacted the floor back first.

Jaune didn't hesitate, and drove his sword downward with a two handed thrust, impaling the would-be assassin through the chest. The blow punched straight through his aura, as easily as it did his flesh and bone. Pyrrha grabbed Cinder about the wrist and pulled her backwards away from the monster she had created.

Without pause, or a second thought, Jaune twisted his blade and ripped it free of the soon to be corpse. A pool of dark crimson spreading rapidly from underneath him. Emerald had not faired any better though her demise could be considered more humane. With her hands pressed to her throat, she took a stumbling step towards Cinder and Pyrrha, before collapsing face first to the blood slick floor beneath her.

Her former friends stood in shocked silence as Jaune and Neo closed. It was only do to Hazel's interference that saved the pair. Giving them a chance to flee. Pyrrha knew Cinder was also holding out hope that Hazel would overcome the murderous pair, but the longer and further they fled without word from him, the less and less they believed those feelings.

"Stop." Cinder gasped out. "Stop."

"We can't'" Pyrrha countered. "We need to get away. I need you safe!"

"You are safe." came a voice they thought they would never hear again. "At least for now."

"Hazel!" Pyrrha called out. Yet, when the mountain of a man stepped out of the shadows into the moonlight it was clear he had paid a high price for their freedom. "Is?"

"No. They both still live." Hazel answered as he took a few stumbling steps towards them. If it was not for his semblance he have succumbed long ago. HIs left arm was gone. Sheared off just above the elbow. His right eye was gone. a ragged vicious gash from his forehead to his chin, bisecting it completely. "Watts will be here soon to return us to our Queen."

Pyrrha nodded, and with Cinder's help they assisted Hazel deeper into the forest. To the location of their rendezvous with Arthur Watts.

It was during that flight through the night skies, with Cinder asleep, her head in Pyrrha's lap, that regret truly took hold of the former champion's heart. She had seen Jaune's strength, even through his lack of training. His strength of resolve, prior to the final fall of Beacon. His unadulterated will that allowed him to always move forward.

"Now that is all turned upon me..." she whispered to no one but herself. "I created a monster..."

Hiiiii, I’m curious about your Ultraman collection. Care to give me an info dump about all your cool stuff?

I'd love to! Here's a very brief overview of the collection thus far.

This is the henshin/transformation device shelf. Starting from the top left and working across, there's the Dark Z Riser (from Ultraman Z), Saki's Gyro (Ultraman R/B), D-Flasher (Ultraman Decker), the Sparklence (Ultraman Tiga), and the Reiflasher (Ultraman Dyna). Those last two are tv-prop quality.

The next shelf down is entirely Ultraman Trigger stuff, including the Ancient, Dark, and GUTS Spark Lenses, and a bunch of Hyper Keys.

Below that is the Orb Ring and the Orb Calibur (From Ultraman Orb), and then the Geed Rizer, Ultra Capsules, King Sword, and the Neo Zero Eye (from Ultraman Geed).

This is the old Ultra Monster Series shelf for figures 2012 and back. I have some vintage figures from the 70s mixed in there, all with the tags.

This is the new Ultra Monster Series shelf, holding all of the smaller, less detailed figures from the new UMS line starting in 2013.

Here is a big shot of the SH Figuarts shelves + the new and old Ultra Hero Series lines. The very top has New Gen DX-scale figures. The lower shelves have all the new Blazar stuff as well as some rarer boxed UHS figures.

This one is kinda messy, I have to work on reorganizing them soon!

Of Course Its Mr. X

I couldn't leave it there, like without explaining the coolest and most tragic things that happened in that session. I just can't write for very long at a time. Anymore.

So, in the hallway of Umbrella Corp we hear the familiar thud of unstoppable footsteps. I don't have to look to know that they are coming from a LARGE man in a normal sized hat, but the hat looks small because he's so big. It's Mr. X from Resident Evil and he can definitely kill any of us in 2 hits. We took off down the hallway, Rory covered our trail with some hearty skeletons that absorbed enough hits for us to get away. Well, get to the end of the hall, in a weird room with floor to ceiling windows and we're trapped. Les used his light field projector to create the illusion that the room extends several feet out farther than it does, and puts the image of us huddled in the dead center. Well, Mr. X took the bait and just fucking smashed through the plate glass window, Michael Myers style, and walked himself out the side of a 40-story drop. holy shit.

While we were half cheering and half crying about how we were going to get down from our towering skyscraper, Max showed up to talk shit. He got real self righteous and confrontational, and when Didi just started biting back at him, I don't know, it was funny, so I laughed. He seemed so powerless and futile, scrabbling with her like that, trading barbs like tough kids at a punk show, but fuck me i guess because when I lowered my chin back down, from throwing my head back in the laughter, he was looking at me with murder in his eyes. It wasn't an empty threat. He snapped his fingers and the mystical Probability Knight appeared in the hallway, lighting up the area behind JD with his hellish glow. I didn't even have time to scream, I saw in my peripheral vision as the giant sword came through the front of JD's chest, and his body collapsed onto the floor, because I couldn't tear my eyes away from Max. Who was that looking at me through his eyes? It felt like motivated hatred, and it really wanted to hurt all of us, but was it the boy I had left behind? I'm truly sorry for what happened to him, but I don't know how we could have left without him if he wasn't truly dead. What's even possible here?

I turned to Les and yelled "Do you have a phone," as he pulled a ringing black phone out of his pants pocket, looking more surprised than I was, really. "Yes.... OK," he said into the phone, and then looked at us. In the tone of a confident man, a trustworthy hero, he said, "Lets go," and jumped out the window. We all followed without hesitation.

On the street below us, in the middle of the day, was a giant inflated parade balloon to break our fall. No damage, just a gentle bounce and the gift of help from a stranger. I think the ballon was of Pikachu... or possibly another cartoon character, and at the bottom of the fall was a spunky Fool who goes by the alias DC. I know what it stands for, but I'm not telling. She took us into the sewer (gross) and led us to a vault with inches thick lead walls that no signals could penetrate. She was from another Paragon party, and she really struggled to give us any info about her long gone friends, but she did have the arm remnants of a Neo. Use it or lose the Faire gold, Les always says, so I suggested he plug some into the arm, and lo - now he has a blink teleporter! DC wouldn't give it up for free, in trade Les and Didi drew her a Transformers comic, based on the new movies that had come out since she'd been trapped. I don't think they were very good, but I also haven't seen them sober, so its impossible to say.

Didi and Les stepped out into the hall (aka the sewer) and Didi made a call to a British sounding ex-boyfriend. He's blonde and he's dangerous and its fucking Spike. Spike met us at the edge of the city with his whole gang of bikers, and we got a ride out of the hot zone. I can't really get into it now, but Didi's got some kids that Spike has been raising for her, or raising to eat her, its still unclear. Its gonna get weird and I'm sure they are dangerous.

Weiss is one of the strongest characters on Remnant and I'm tired of pretending she's not.

OK. Bold statement I know but, in this post, I will prove why I think that at the very least. So, in the show we know that Weiss can one:

Summon enemies she killed in the past

Summon just parts of past enemies (Worthy)

Can change the size of her summons (Unforeseen Complications)

Her summons can teleport through her glyphs (Dread in the air)

Make platform glyphs

Augment her glyphs using dust (there are 12 kinds btw)

Can control and manipulate dust (Ice fist the tournament and Lighting the candles in Brunswick farm)

Can use her what seem to be base glyphs to hold things in place (End of White trailer)

Can use (what I call) “Moonshot” (End of White trailer)

Has excellent fencing and sword fighting skills

Can skate on her glyphs

Use time dilation

Tactical minded (wiki)

And based on what I can gather most likely has a lot of aura since apparently according to the wiki. Semblances use aura as a power source. With how semblance heavy Weiss’s fighting style is she should have something close to Jaune’s level

Also, it can be used as power source apparently (JLxRWBY P1)

With all of this I feel as though it really just takes a little bit of creativity and suddenly Weiss can best 95% of the characters in RWBY. But Weiss has low endurance and glyphs are breakable. Is what you might be saying and honestly that just straight up doesn’t make sense like, how many years has she trained in order to be a huntress.

Fencing is not easy to learn and having a good base of endurance is necessary in order to learn any weapon because how tiring it can be to hold a weapon. Now I’m not saying Myrtenaster is as heavy as Crescent Rose or something but even something that is lightweight can become insanely heavy when you have to use it for a long time.

Now getting into some interpretation territory, why would Weiss who comes off as a hardworking studier who seems to be a perfectionist not have a good base of endurance when she knows that Grimm isn't just going to wait for her to catch her breath real quick. Some arguments I’ve seen used for Weiss’s lack of endurance are the White Fang lieutenant smashing her head into the ground and trying to decapitate her and Nora hitting her into a concrete pillar.

This is horrible reasoning in my opinion as to why Weiss has low endurance. Do you really think that the other girls could have survived that hit on the train? Do you think Blake could’ve totally tanked that hit and been fine? Ruby? Hell Yang? Yang got taken out by a weaker hit in the same fight sequence.

In Yang and Neo’s fight, Yang misses all of her punches while Neo lands a couple of hits on Yang then throws Yang into the metal roof and knocks her out.

Weiss on the other hand lands all her attacks and was then grabbed out of the air and had her fucking head slammed into the metal floor then throw into the air and almost decapitated by a fucking chainsaw. Like what, who the fuck could’ve survived that hit cus it sure as shit isn’t Yang.

And the Nora food fight once again I ask could Blake survive that hit? Could Ruby? Sure, I think Yang could’ve but that doesn’t change the fact that just about anyone else couldn't. So, in conclusion I think Weiss is one of the strongest characters in RWBY.

Also here are some of my ideas of how cool but OP Weiss’s semblance can be.

Summon a Beowulf dual wielding great swords

Use water dust to recreate a dolphin uppercut paying homage to final fantasy

Have her use any kind of dust to make copies of her friends and make them move

Use wind and ice dust to mimic a voice box and copy others voices

Use time dilation at all

Use the “Moon shot” more as that was really cool

Have a sparring match with everyone else with no semblances being used as a rule

Use any other dust than just gravity, ice, fire and electric

Have Weiss cover the ground in ice and use her ice skating abilities to her advantage

Summon an army of small Grimm to crawl on her opponents to unnerve them

Summon a really big Grimm

Summon a small Grimm and recreate old kaiju movies like Godzilla

Use her summons as entertainment like a dinner and a show

Have a butler Beowulf that has a little bowtie

Have her kill steal new enemies so she can summon them later

Have her insist that she gets all final blows to be able summon it later

Go hunting with beowulfs and Atlesian knights

Have her crush a building by using gravity glyphs

Have her throw a building using gravity glyphs

Show Weiss sewing dust into her clothing

Show Weiss doing maintenance on Myrtenaster

Have Weiss be indignant about Myrtenaster being use a charger for everybody's scrolls

Have Weiss sleep with Myrtenaster right next to her on the bed like Ruby

With how rich Weiss is at the beginning of the story have her pay people to build robots and mechs with wild and wacky abilities and have her “fight” them so she can summon them

Have her ride her summons (beowulfs, griffons, nevermores, ect)

Have her summon all of her fluffiest summons and cuddle them

Have her summon her paladin and manually wreck shop in it

Use her summons as recon in stealth situations

Use a fire glyph and platform glyph to cook food

Have her cuddle a boarbatusk to sleep

Hold an enemy in place using a gravity glyph and drown them using a water glyph

Use two gravity glyphs to break an enemy’s bones or collapse their organs

Use a gravity glyph to hold an enemy in place

Use a gravity glyph to rip the weapon out of an enemy's hand

Use a gravity glyph to shoot their bullet right back at them

Have her use platform glyphs in every picture so she the tallest one

Have her freeze tree bark so she can fix her appearance

Have use a plant glyph (yes that is a dust type) to make flower crowns for her team

Have her use a plant glyph to make poison plants appear

Have her use a plant glyph to get healing herbs

Have a gag wear she walks away and makes a rock house using a rock glyph

Have her cover the ground in rock glyphs and have them shoot up to attack

Have her mix gravity and lightning dust to make a magnet and steal peoples silverware when they're not looking

Have her blow dry her hair with a wind glyph

The battlefield was nothing but writhing shadows, a sea of Heartless clawing and shrieking as they surged forward, their gleaming yellow eyes hungry for the next heart to claim. But amidst the chaos, a different kind of monster stood, grinning ear to ear.

"You little freaks really think you stand a chance? C'mon, make me work for it!" he cackled, his golden eyes flashing with sick amusement.

Gripping the cloth wrapped around his massive cleaver of a sword, he whipped it forward with a vicious snap of his wrist. Deadly Darts. The blade whistled through the air like a reaper's scythe, carving through three Shadows before its trajectory curved unnaturally, slamming into a Neo Shadow just as it tried to leap away. A dark explosion of vanishing wisps marked its end.

But he wasn’t done.

With a sharp yank, the sword snapped back into his grasp, and before the next wave could lunge at him, Zangetsu threw his free hand forward—his fingers splayed, his palm glowing with raw, condensed power.

CERO.

BOOM! The crimson blast ripped through the air, smashing into a horde of Heartless and leaving nothing but dust and flickering embers in its wake. Zangetsu barely stopped to admire his work, already spinning on his heel, flinging his blade out once more, laughing all the while. This was a hunt, a slaughter, and he was loving every second of it.

And then—

Something changed.

A presence. A shift in the air made him pause mid-swing, his grin flickering just for a second.

Then, Zangetsu chuckled.

"Well, well... ain’t this interesting?" He dragged his blade over his shoulder, his grin splitting wider.

"You gonna try stoppin’ me, Keyboy?"

"Not unless you give me a reason to."

With unwavering resolve, a firm tone escapes the crestfallen lips of the keyblade wielder, Sora. His vivid, hybrid eyes—shimmering shades of blue and gold—lock onto the tempestuous gaze of Zangetsu, which flickers with an unsettling blend of black and yellow, a sight that eerily reminds him of a Heartless. As Sora stands amid the wreckage, his keen senses detect the acrid scent of devastation that permeates the air around him. The atmosphere thunders with the palpable energy surging from Ichigo's heart, a tumult of overwhelming power that seems to pulsate with every beat.

However, there is an even more relentless predator out here.

The Parasitic Darkness's smooth, velvety voice echoed hauntingly within Sora's mind, sending a shiver down his spine. Its presence was not just a threat but an impending danger that grew with each passing moment. Instinctively, he pressed his right hand over his heart, his fingertips digging into the fabric of his tattered shirt, which was marred with grime and sweat from the ongoing struggle.

A momentary calm washed over him as he released a heavy, drawn-out breath. In that fleeting pause, the only figure looming as a potential threat was the man whose likeness had become increasingly familiar, a face that belonged to someone he was beginning to understand on a deeper level. Though he had not yet summoned his Keyblade, Sora's fingers twitched slightly as if anticipating an attack from the other.

I think a few of the fighters I most want in Smash would have some interesting interactions with Mewtwo. Robert mistakes it for an alien and tells it to put some clothes on, the Mach Rider mistakes it for a Quadrunner and tries to kill it and while the Neo Swords don’t really have a strong opinion of Mewtwo, Mewtwo does not appreciate the idea of the three of them joining resulting in it no longer being the only Psychic-type in Smash

"Your soul is hollow." Came the icy voice of Weiss Schnee as she glared daggers at the still form of one Neopolitan whomst just stared at the broken sword, Crocea Mors as her and the rest of her team were held up in a shack waiting out the ongoing sandstorm.

"You should be rotting or still under that Cat's control, but no, Jaune just had to be a hero," Weiss smashed a wall to her left.

"Always the hero..." She muttered sadly, but Neo didn't acknowledge her. She just kept staring at the sword.

"Tell me this.. was all of this worth it?" Weiss said as she stomped up to the dazed Neo.

"Was what you put Ruby through worth it?" Weiss said as she pointed toward the still sleeping Rose laying on her sisters shoulder, who looked non-to happy to be sharing a shack in the middle of a sandstorm. Blake had daggers on her as well.

"No, it wasn't, and now you paid the price, and in consequence, so did Jaune," Weiss said with such venom as Neo still said nothing and Weiss fumed.

"Don't just sit their and stare pathetically at that blade, trying to be a victim, don't think I don't know about YOU and him...and how you chose revenge over him" still nothing.

"It amazes me how selfish you have been, how incredibly fucking selfish you are and can still be!" Weiss said said as she pulled out her own weapon but Neo didn't budge.

"I should kill you...finish what the cat couldn't!" Weiss said as she brought her rapier close to the still form of Neo whomst still stayed fixated on the blade.

Weiss just clutched the blade tightly as tears began to well into her eyes.

"But you're lucky...it's not what he would have wanted...he for some reason beyond sanity see's good in you." Tired and frustrated at Neo's ignorance, Weiss grabbed Neo by her collar and pulled her up the sword clacking to the ground as Neo's head followed with it, she tried weakly to grab it but Weiss held her In a firm grip.

"You may have fooled him, but you don't fool me. You left him heartbroken, and he sat with that and still...still he tries to save get you off that path but nooo, " She said with distaste before shoving her back down to which Neo just plopped to the ground next to the broken blade.

"And now look at where it got us...where it got you" Weiss said as she looked at all present.

"Revenge is an idiots game," She said to Neo, whomst widened her eyes and looked shakily back up to Weiss.

"That what he always told me, he learned that after his suicidal crusade to kill Cinder-the actual fucking cause for your pain!" Weiss as she Neo just stared up at her eyes widened in surprise.

"You know what he told me in the EverAfter while you were busy sending your pet after all the inhabitants, he held on to hope," Weiss said she dropped her weapon before pointing a finger at her.

"He held onto the hope of seeing all of us... but most importantly, he held onto the hope of seeing YOU!" Neo let out what Weiss could only describe to be a gasp.

"And the one fucking time he see's you is when that bastard cat is taking over your body!" She said to her as she recalled the events back in the everafter.

"But if their was anything I knew about Jaune is that he had a tenacity to never give up and Jaune would find a way...he would always find a way," Weiss said as she bent down to pick up her weapon at the shaken Neo, who was on the verge of tears.

"Oh, please save your fucking tears, you have no right to cry for him" Weiss spat "not after every selfish thing you've done to him" She than began to walk away back to the other side of where her team rests as the wind and sand clattered the small hut.

"Roman would be so proud of you, I bet," Weiss said with nothing but mockery as Neo just could do nothing but accept the words that came her way as Weiss just sat back down and rubbed her eyes of tears as a comforting hand from Blake rested on her shoulder.

Neo just looked back at the before sword touching it oh so gently, almost as if she were afraid it would disappear before her as memories of times, Good and bad began to flow like a raging storm.

The "death"/rebirth cycle of the Ever After; it's chekhov's plot device now. Like it HAS to come into play, somehow. To that end, we have three characters that have forgotten their "purpose" aka identity crisis island.

Ruby: does NOT have it in her to fight. If she does, her heart won't be in it, and I can't see her fighting since she can barely look at crescent rose without a panic attack. She no longer considers herself a hunter. Her identity is eroding, and no one is any wiser. Honestly this is kinda scary, like this kiddo is keeping this depression to herself and she needs to ask for help, but she won't and everything comes out all at once in a Very Bad Way. Too close to real life.

That being said, ideally Ruby discovers that it's okay for her to have bad days, to ask people for help, and feel her emotions. Honestly she reminds me of Riley from Inside Out. She takes the "bad" parts, and makes them a proper part of her self. The spectre of Summer no longer haunts her and Salem's taunts lose their effectiveness. You can even say, her painful memories and emotions "temper" her resolve. 👀

Jaune: my baby boi is a mess right now I don't even know where to begin. Yeah he was doing so great for volume 7-8 but maybe that just means he had the furthest to fall (get it lol)? Like he finally feels okay with himself, he's the team healer. He's not the type of guy to think of a mercy kill as heroics and it's literally the opposite of a heal so that entire cornerstone of his personality has been smashed. He's regressed to a place of self doubt. Except this time the stakes have risen and it's not that he can't become a hero, it's that he briefly was a hero and failed miserably (in his eyes). God even his angst is mature.

I feel like his trauma is different from Ruby's trauma in the way that hers is very psychological and deals with things that have happened to her, and Jaune's trauma deals with the things he's DONE or not done.

Shout out to the weirdness of him being super old now, but aside from becoming grumpy has moved on/changed on the least of all the characters. Like just look at the guy, he's literally rusting, even his new armor! His hair is long and unkempt compared to his previous fresh cut, and his broken ass sword is still....a broken ass sword.

He needs to forgive himself. Accept that all he can do is his best and it might not always be enough, but the world would be worse off without him. Sometimes being a hero involves doing the really hard thing, so that other people won't have to suffer. Like, reminiscent of Ironwood minus the paranoia and bullheadedness. Maybe he learns that he truly did help Louis and Alyx. Perhaps even, the tree requires Jaune and Ruby's help in resetting itself and he learns the benefit of a figurative rebirth. That sometimes death is necessary. That last one is icky.

Neo: our little murder goblin. Her sense of self is harder to pinpoint since we know her less well, and it seems like most of her motivation is "do crimes" and "do crimes with Roman". So I'm going to treat her like a villain for the most part. I do think she'll get some kind of closure on how Roman died: that if you fuck around, you find out/get eaten by a Grimm. I do find it interesting that we haven't seen diddly of her since she landed, like she's almost disappeared. Her semblance is wack and even though semblance evolution is a thing, I get the feeling that something about the Ever After is doin it for her. I don't think she has a good shot at coming out of this alive tbh.

But back to her "losing herself", she doesn't seem well. Maybe she thought Cinder would be her new partner in crime and she's super not taking that well? That could solidify that Roman was her one and only person, and she'll never experience that again

She won't go out in a blaze of glory without her either becoming a cautionary tale for not letting go of someone, or realizing for herself that she and Roman only have themselves to thank for their fate. Either way, I think she goes down with the tree. As much as I ship her and Fox, she's way too Chaotic Evil. I feel like there should be more to her story, but I can't pin it down.

Calm, Cool and Collected 3…

Is not what Yuichi was feeling right now. If the banishment from Neo Edo and dealing with another invasion wasn't enough, the universe had to throw something in the way of his love life again. The first time it was the banishment, almost a month ago. Lord Kogane had organized this lavish ceremony, so lavish that the young rabbit decided that he must make it the venue to confess his love to the cat ninja, Chizu, who he had been friends with for at least a year. But before he could get the words out on stage, Lord Kogane had exclaimed, "Congratulations Usagi, in order to further spread the legacy of Miyamoto Usagi, you must be a traveling Ronin. So, I declare you banished from Neo Edo." 

"What!" Was the only word that came out from his whole friend group during the ceremony. Yuichi's friends had gotten established positions at the city, Gen, the rhino, got to be official Bounty hunter, Kitsune, the fox, got to be official community center organizer, and Chizu was assigned official bodyguard to the Shogun. All decisions made by Kogane. One could tell this is based on shallow assumptions but banishment was not something anybody could want, but fighting the Shogun would only make it worse. So he packed his bags, took Spot, and waited outside the city limits not knowing what to do, but before any of his friends could show up, as they were too caught up with the follow up press interview. The young rabbit found an interesting pair of Yokai.

"Huginn, look it's a rabbit Yokai!" Said the stubbier gargoyle. The one called Huginn responded, "Yeah Muninn, and he looks kind of sad."

"I am not a Yokai!" Cried out Yuichi, sending out some pent up anger before crouching back down to his curled up position he had earlier. "I fight Yokai." He sobbed. That's when Huginn said, "Know the place for you"

That's how he became a fighter in the Battle Nexus, letting Willow Branch, Miyamoto's sword, taste blood for the first time in over half a millennia. It was fairly easy as he was a bit of a yokai nerd. After his first match he overheard a fighter complain about someone named “Big Mama'' and that he should have stayed off her radar. “Hope I don’t ever cross paths with her.” Yuichi thought.

 Eventually he found a job at Hueso's to create a good cover up if anyone from Neo Edo managed to find him, he didn’t want Kogane to know about the battles should he change his mind about the banishment.

Now here he was, standing in front of the rabbit responsible for all his hardships in Neo Edo, the one known as the great betrayer, the one who was now the most worried he had ever seen him. It was obivous that the poor rabbit was in love but why did it have to be the dad of the guy Yuichi was interested in. Guess types pass down generations. This was his second chance at love and Yuichi knew that he shouldn't let Miyamoto ruin his shot, yet he said, "Go for it, Jiji, it's the 21st century, it's fine to like men. I like men and women and everything in between…" then the young rabbit rambled on a bit. Before the older rabbit stopped him and said, "I am not worried because he's a man, I like men as much as I like women. I am worried because I made the impression, in front of his family, that I wanted  to meet him at your place to have…"

"Whoa, I didn't need to hear that, and besides I have to go back to work." That's when the young rabbit made his leave into the store but before going back to waiting tables he texts Leo-kun, who gave him his phone number during their conversation.

"Hey it's Usagi, meet me at the fountain by 6🐰."

It was 6:10 and both the young turtle and rabbit sat next to each other. There was an awkward silence, both could feel the tension in the air before Leo broke the silence.

"So it's this a date or you-."

"My 'dad' wants to smash your dad" Said Yuichi woefully.

"Oh, but my 'mom' just passed away and I..." Leo-kun said. Again not wanting to explain time travel to a rabbit. But something in Yuichi snapped, something that had been buried down long ago. He a coin from the fountain and slamming it back into the down screaming, "My mom has been dead for years"

"It must be hard for you to see your dad move on especially after losing the other child he had with her." Leo, said guiltily, staring at the enraged rabbit.

"Jotaro's Mom wasn't even my mom. Jotaro's not my brother!" His expression shifted from aggression to fear, "Oh, no" He thought he exposed his lie however…

"It's ok Usagi," Leo said, and with a heavy sniff he too started to sob "I'm sorry it's my fault, the Kraang…” Both the turtle and rabbit broke down in ugly sobs. 

Later when they both have calmed down, Leo-kun asked “Are you sure about this,Usagi? Dating in secret, what about your dad?”

“What about him? The only thing that matters is us ok.” said Yuichi, wiping off the remaining tears off Leo-kun’s face. “Plus we don’t know if your dad’s into him.”

Do you ever feel like the emblems are a bit not thought through?

Like, these are generally like signatures, right? How do you reproduce them? Do you use them to sign official documents? Do you use stamps to create them, or do you draw it with pens and such? Are they just a personal decal for outfit design? What purpose do they actually have? Why do some of them have real world symbols (like Arslan and Neo) which don’t relate to them as characters? Why are some of them so overly complicated? Does someone like Sage have the time to painstakingly draw each wing and feather everytime he has to use his emblem? If Weiss is supposed to recreate her identity free from the SDC now that she isn’t the heiress (or so I assume), then why does she still have the SDC logo as her emblem? Why not just make Sun’s emblem a sun, or look like a sun? If Raven hates Ozpin now and has stopped being part of the Inner Circle then why does she still have a cog wheel in her emblem? Emblems just feel like yet another cool concept that has only surface level planning.

Here's my working theory: The people who originally made RWBY were playing Super Smash Bros, and decided they liked the little logos that would appear based on what games people were from, and they were like 'we want that for the new show we're working on, but like one for each character' and then just like the color naming rule and every weapon having a name, it just was harder to execute than they thought it'd be and they're so bad at putting that sort of thing into their worldbuilding that it really wound up failing.

Like you said, some of it makes no sense. How would they all be original? Are you assigned an emblem or do you make your own? Are you allowed to change it on a whim or is it like a name where you have to get it changed legally? And why is it that some people don't have their emblems on their clothes and other people do? See, a part of me thinks 'it's just fashion, it's like putting your first initial on your clothes,' but some of the emblems really make absolutely no sense at all. It's offensive to treat Faunus like nothing more than the animal they have traits of, so why is Sun's emblem literally just a monkey? If he made the emblem himself, why? And if it was chosen for him, wouldn't that be angering and upsetting? Why is Mercury's emblem a winged foot in the context of the world itself? Because obviously the Doylist reason is that he's meant to be Mercury/Hermes and the emblem is (outside of his name) the only thing that really connects him to his allusion, but the Watsonian reason is what?

Cinder's mark seems completely attached to being a Maiden and only appears when she steals power from Amber.

Why doesn't this exist for any other Maiden? What was her mark before this? Is it possible that this idea of emblems for everyone came from Maidens in universe? Why do Maidens get marks like this? What is this?

Here's a couple of other things: Several emblems are based on weapons, so.... Who did that? Because that means if Hunters ever decide to switch out their weapons, their emblems just look stupid. If Pyrrha ever decided she wanted to wield swords she'd have to change her emblem, do you know how annoying that'd be? And like, Ren's symbol might be important to him because of the connection to his family home and meanwhile Emerald's symbol is just a reference to her name and Penny's symbol is just her weapon, no real connection to them personally. Jaune must be bummed to just have two curved lines that every other person in his family also has. And Weiss really is super comfortable with having the brand of her billionaire family with a wide history of horrible deeds be her thing too, which is in line with her 'but I'd be a good billionaire, the only bad thing about this company is my dad' characterization, but is still incredibly annoying to me. And you're completely right about Raven, it doesn't make sense for her emblem to be the same as Qrow's but flipped and a different color, when the cogs in their emblems are a clear reference to Ozpin. And when did they get that emblem? Obviously after they joined Beacon, so what was their emblem before that and why didn't Raven go back to it after she left Ozpin?

I like the idea of some characters having emblems as just little extra designs, but why does Neon Katt need an official symbol when as far as I know it isn't even on her outfit? Why does Sun need an official emblem? It's just stupid, it's like the naming every weapon all over again. When it works, great, but they try so hard to force these things like they're trying to be original and it never actually fits in with the world building (or lack thereof) very well.

I will say that I like Roman Torchwick's emblem though. It seems very much like him to put a jack o' lantern face on things.

i have fallen down the rabbit hole of game collecting and i own a good few systems now. i'm curious about getting a dreamcast but i've been putting it off because i kind of expect myself only to get the two Sonic Adventure games on it. (i have a Wii so i could always get their gamecube ports, even though sadx is quite bad)

do you think a dreamcast is worth the investment? i know i'm probably missing some obvious hits on the platform

I still think SA1 (obviously) and SA2 play best on the Dreamcast.

As for other Dreamcast games, hm. There are a handful of games that never really came to other platforms, including:

Cannon Spike, the home console port of Capcom's top down arcade shooter. You can play as Cammy and Mega Man. It's fun but not incredible (like all arcade games, there's about 20 minutes worth of content).

Chu Chu Rocket, which probably needs no introduction. It had a GBA port, which is also pretty good, but you can't beat the Dreamcast original.

If you ask me, Crazy Taxi also plays best on Dreamcast, unless you have access to an arcade machine with a wheel (though the Gamecube version is probably fine). And Crazy Taxi 2 has yet to see release on any other platform (unless you count Crazy Taxi 3 on Xbox, but that's a different beast).

Blue Stinger and Illbleed are sort of legendary games that never left Dreamcast. I think even fans of these two games would agree they're not very fun, but they are deeply interesting and very weird.

I think D2 was practically a launch title for the Dreamcast and one of the first multi-disc games. People talked about it a lot at release but don't anymore. I have no idea what it's like, outside of it being a horror game.

Floigan Bros. is absolutely miserable. Peter Moore said it was going to be Sega's "Super Mario Bros." I think. It's a point and click adventure game and was going to be episodic. Only one episode ever came out. But it's so bad it's worth owning.

Since I've already recommended games of questionable quality, I suppose it's worth pointing out that Sonic Shuffle has also never left the Dreamcast.

It came out on other platforms, but I think the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 is considered to be the best one. Other versions have weird changes or missing features, whereas the Dreamcast version is apparently the best of all worlds.

I think the Dreamcast is also home to the only console ports of Sega Rally 2 and Zombie Revenge. The latter is basically a House of the Dead Beat'em'up.

Metropolis Street Racer is also a Dreamcast exclusive, and while older racing sims aren't usually sought-after, I had fun when I revisited this last year.

Super Magnetic Neo is also unique and probably worth looking in to.

As is Super Runabout: San Francisco. Had fun with that one last year, too.

Which is to say nothing about Soulcalibur.

The Dreamcast version of Skies of Arcadia seems to have better visuals on Dreamcast, but a worse difficulty curve and less content. Pick your poison.

Games that may also be worth looking in to that I am not super familiar with: Cosmic Smash, Fighting Vipers 2, Headhunter, Maken X, PenPen Tri-Icelon, POD Speed Zone, Psychic Force, Stunt GP, Toy Commander, Sword of the Berserk, Confidential Mission, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 1 & 2, Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future, Fur Fighters

Don't forget unreleased games: Half-Life, Propeller Arena, and a Dreamcast prototype of Toejam & Earl III.

Other Great Dreamcast Ports: Dynamite Cop, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Capcom vs. SNK 1 & 2, Mark of the Wolves, Last Blade 2, Guilty Gear XX, Mr. Driller, Powerstone 1 & 2, Project Justice, any of Capcom's "For Matching Service" games, Dead or Alive 2, Ikaruga, and Bangai-O.

My only concern with collecting Dreamcast stuff is that the console has a tendency to burn itself out after enough time. The GD-ROM laser doesn't last forever (I know mine is on its last legs) and it is basically impossible to service. Most people seem to go the route of installing an SD card loader or something.
