#Nasi Lemak Burger
buffetlicious · 1 year
Text
McDonald's Singapore first introduced this locally inspired burger to us in 2017 and wowed me with the truly iconic dish in burger form. It came back briefly in the menu in 2019 and never appeared again until now. Of course I had to go buy the Nasi Lemak Burger Feast (S$11.50) which comes with Potato Wedges, Cocoa-Nut Pie and a small gassy drink. Upgraded the carbonated drink to a small ice green tea (+S$0.75).

For the 2023 version of the Nasi Lemak Burger, McDonald's tweaked the sambal sauce from sweet to savoury while also make changes to the chicken patty. Taking a bite, I did feel that the sauce was spicier than before, after all the sambal sauce is made from belachan, curry paste, chilli, shrimp, anchovies and other spices. The chicken patty is both crispy and juicy, boasting stronger flavours. Overall, the burger paired with fragrant sautéed onions, crisp cucumber slices and a fried egg was a sedap (Malay word for delicious) eat. While I enjoyed the soft and fluffy Potato Wedges over shoestring fries anytime, I did wish the wedges were dusted with some forms of spice mixture to elevate the flavours.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now on to the Cocoa-nut Pie dessert. Breaking the pie into halves, all I see is the creamy coconut sauce with very little pieces of nata de coco inside, a far cry from the one I ate a few weeks ago. At least the pastry shell is still warm and crispy.

It's hard not to love a good burger. It's got all the things you like, because you're plebs. Nasi lemak or nasi kerabu has all the things I like because I like stuff that's great and not movies full of attractive failures who say deep shit like "Friend... do we really know, what it means to die?" and then maybe die or maybe not depending on how sleep-deprived the scriptwriter was.

5 Best Tips To Start Your Diet Meal Plan In Singapore
If you’ve repeatedly tried to be healthy or to start your diet-related meal plan in Singapore but haven’t succeeded, you’re not the only one. We don’t blame you. There are too many delicious food options available in Singapore and we have cravings of all sorts every day. Here are 5 suggestions to help you get started on your diet plan for Singapore today.
#1 Avoid Visiting Hawker Centers and Cafes This is absolutely necessary. To avoid getting enticed by local delights like laksa, nasi lemak or pasta, etc. It is essential to stay clear of these restaurants. The one easy and safe food item you are constantly telling yourself that you will never eat is the one that is constantly breaking your diet plan all the time. Additionally, you should also be aware of the need to stay away from fast food chains like the ones you love like McDonald, KFC, and Burger King chains, as well as high-carb and sugar-based foods.
#2 Locate a Keto-Friendly Store with a Large Selection of Foods Available At Keto Catering, we offer an extensive assortment of keto foods that allow you to cook up everything you can think of. Our food products are made from the finest ingredients available worldwide to satisfy Singaporean tastes.
Alternatively, you could visit your local store like Sheng Siong, Fair price, or Giant to purchase healthy, low-carb foods including chicken breast, vegetables as well as salmon fish, and many more. One of our favorite combinations would be broccoli with salmon meat. Be aware that you’ll be required to take note of the sauce that you are using to cook your fish. If you are able, study the nutritional information in the sauce, to make sure that it is low in carbohydrates.
Keto Catering offers a diverse selection of sauces that can enhance your meals so that your meals don’t need to be bland or boring to you. When you’re making your next pasta dinner, why not give the Slendier Keto Pasta Sauce – Basil (340g) which is guaranteed to provide you with the exact taste of your regular pasta. Simply because it’s healthy does not mean that it will not be tasty. This is because we’ve carefully selected the top keto foods from across the globe, which will please our Singaporean’s palates, and then imported them back to Singapore to make them available to you.
Healthy eating can cost a lot of money, which is why Tip #3 will show you how to save money while eating healthily.
#3 Packing for the Week If you prepare your meals to go for the week you’re implicitly requiring yourself to be committed to the entire week. If you don’t do it, all your budget and time used to prepare meals will go to waste. Imagine it as getting a gym membership. A six-month or one-year membership makes you exercise for a specific period of time to get the most value for your money. Actually, you benefit from a discount when you plan your meals for your entire week since the ingredients can be utilized when cooking in bulk, instead of eating a single dinner.
We are here at Keto Catering, we provide discounts when you buy several products. We believe that healthy eating shouldn’t cost a lot of money. We strive to ensure that keto products that are low in carbs are affordable to all our loyal customers.
Tips: purchase glass containers at Daiso for only $2 to make a meal container. They are airtight and can be stored in the refrigerator. Additionally, it’s easier to see what’s inside the glass container, so you don’t bring the wrong food.
#4 Be Tracking Your Progress Create a planner or journal in which you write down the meals you ate and the days when you consumed it. You might also want to keep track of the weight loss progress you have made to know the amount you’ve lost. When you’re done with your week, you’ll possibly identify the main factors that were right or wrong during the week and what might be the reason for the rise or loss of weight.
#5 Reward Yourself This is an extremely important tip. Do not overlook this suggestion since rewarding yourself is something people often overlook, and, as a result they lose motivation to keep going. Losing weight and eating a healthy diet is not an easy process and believe us when we claim that we frequently get discouraged after the first few days or so. “I’m having healthy meals, low carb food, yet I’m still not losing weight. Why?”
The truth is that even one month of a regimen will not result in you becoming slimmer or losing weight. Your body will need time to adapt to the changes and these changes are likely to take time. Also, these changes vary in each person, so don’t compare between your friends or family members since your body is different from theirs.
Conclusion We’ve given you five valuable guidelines you should be aware of before beginning your keto diet plan for Singapore. We are aware that it’s not quick and simple, but it will definitely be healthy and beneficial over the long term. Be aware that eating healthily does not mean you have to indulge in expensive meals. We are Singapore’s top Keto and Low-Carb Meals catering company. Keto Meals Catering creates 100 keto-approved menus and dishes. Shop online to learn more about the many varieties of keto keto-friendly and healthy products that we have available for you.

23 Sept 22 // Escape Room & Bukit Bintang
0915: Me arriving on that time at KL Sentral. From far, i saw her using nearby ATM try to get the money out from it.
I try to sneak out and make her surprise by my presence. While she wondering where i am, i was slowly coming from her behind and try to get close. Well, after a while she realised someone actually at her beside and immediately gasped at me 😂.
Her face like seeing some stranger try to rob her. So funny.
0930: We decided to breakfast at nearby McDonald. I bought some breakfast set and she bought nasi lemak. It was good but she can’t finish her nasi lemak but who i am kidding i can’t even finish the burger cus both of us really small eater. But hey, at least i can keep the burger in the bag.
While we waiting for escape room store to open we actually use massage chair to kill times. Such a good massage that my ass keep farting.

In the end, the game master help us to finish the escape room and showed us the way how to escape. So funny cus we figured lots of thing but late to execute.
+1100: We go to lunch and eat Nandos! Its first time experience for me. The food so good tho and can refill water but my boy the price really expensive.
+1200-1300: Spontaneous exploring Bukit Bintang! it’s nice experience but bad decision cus it’s so hot! We use monorail to get there and just wandered around and see popular malls around it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, we decided to go inside to Pavilion. It’s really nothing there except expensive brand store then we wanted go out and suddenly there was a seller giving out flower to her and its match with our outfit!

ITS TIME FOR NOVELTY BURGERS
Bought the McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger and Pulut Hitam (Black Sticky Rice) Pie last night because I had to suffer 3 hours’ sleep and head to the polls.
The pie was tasty but then you could attribute that to the palm sugar used to cook down the black sticky rice lol. I ate that first while it was still warm; burgers can wait for a bit. And I like testing them cold because it says a lot about their flavours.
Breakdown: Burger bun sprinkled with not very spicy chilli flakes, fried egg of meh, special sweet and pretty spicy sambal sauce, thinly sliced cucumbers, caramelised onions and a coconut milk marinated piece of fried chicken.
It’s pretty good, not mind-blowing but a solid novelty for almost RM15 ala carte.
I didn’t get the cendol soft serve because they cost almost 4 ringgit what???

Had two of the McDonald's Singapore Nasi Lemak Burgers yesterday, not too shabby for a burger. The sweet and mildly spicy chilli sauce coupled with sautéed onion and slices of cucumber on top of a piece of crispy coconut-flavoured juicy chicken thigh patty sandwiched between semolina buns was pretty sedap. Definitely put KFC’s Zinger Burger to shame now that their chicken cannot make it.

My headcanons on the characters' favorite foods and drinks
Balan: He'll eat and drink pretty much anything that's consumable. But if he had to pick, his favorite foods would be lasagna and blueberry pie. His favorite drinks would be either wine or sweetened black tea.
Lance: Like Balan, he's not picky on food or drinks. But he has an absolute favorite food: chocolate! Drink wise, he prefers tea of all kind to be unsweetened and decaffeinated.
Leo Craig: He is a lover for pizza and burgers. As for drinks, he loves ginger ale or regular coke. He does watch how much he eats, though.
Emma Cole: She is a strawberry lover. So she'll eat anything involving strawberries, whether it'd be just the fruit, strawberry-flavored yogurt, or strawberry pie. She also loves drinking strawberry milk.
Jose Gallard: He loves eating his fruits and vegetables. But he loves eating cornbread made by his wife. When it comes to drinks, he'll be fine with just a glass of water.
Fiona Demetria: Her favorite foods would be anything that's Greek cuisine, as long as there's no seafood in it. Drink wise, she loves smoothies of all kind.
Yuri Brand: She loves onigiri, which are rice balls wrapped in nori (dried seaweed). She also would love green tea with it, sweetened.
Haoyu Chang: Hands down, dumplings are his favorite food. Especially made by his mother. His favorite drink, if he had to choose, would be orange juice.
Sana Hudson: She is a vegetarian, so salads are her favorite food. She also loves fruit and veggie juices that she makes on her own.
Cass Milligan: She is a sweet lover! Lollipops are her favorite treat. She also loves milkshakes too. But she doesn't have sweets as often as one would assume.
Cal Suresh: He favors curry and rice, especially if he makes it himself. He also favors espresso.
Iben Bia: Her favorite foods include apricots and pancakes that her mother used to make. Drink wise, she loves coffee with milk and sugar.
Attilio Caccini: Spaghetti and ravioli are his absolute favorite dishes. He also loves drinking soda and milkshakes too.
Lucy Wong: She loves eating a dish called Nasi lemak, which is a dish that consists of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and served on a banana leaf. She also loves eating durian fruit. Her favorite drinks are anything with caffeine, such as coffee.
Eis Glover: He loves eating Knusperstangen, a twisted German baked good that's filled with cheese and onion and is topped with poppy seeds and sesame seeds. He prefers water over other drinks.
Bruce Stone: His favorite food would have to be tomato soup. When it comes to drinks, he'll enjoy either water, unsweetened iced tea, or lemonade.
