#NO BUT I CAN TOTALLY SEE TSUMUGI BEING ONE OF THOSE GUYS TO BE SUPER SWEET TOWARDS BUGS

I would just like to say that I headcanon that Tsumugi is not scared of bugs at all. My reasoning for this is that he ate anything he could get his hands on as a kid because poor and starving and if i remember correctly he joked about how leather boots could taste good and that means he probably ate a shoe? and if that is the case I believe that he would of eaten bugs as a little kid and thus is very chill around them. he eats a bug and then natsume hits him for being gross :p
HELP I CAN DEFINITELY SEE THAT THOUGH. especially considering how when he was a kid hed suck on azalea nectar when he got hungry, who knows what other stuff that kid ended up putting in his mouth. a child phased by nothing. He would eat live bugs
but who knows, this current story is telling us how the war caused tsumugi to finally learn to feel, and hes mentioned natsume "teaching him pain, and everything else" Whos to say that "everything else" doesnt also include a fear of bugs

A Break: IDOLiSH7 Third BEAT! Ep 10 Review
I can’t say that I have wasted a single second not fangirling them...
[Contains detailed spoilers of the episode below. If you don’t want to get spoiled, please refrain from going under the cut. Otherwise, dive right in, and make sure to watch the episode whenever you get the time!]
Also, please enjoy the spam of content I am going to provide and my blabberings.
Check the masterlist- here
Tumblr media
(The fun has started!)
This episode washed all the week’s fatigue away.
IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, and Re:vale get to do a special programme on the occasion of Friends Day. Well, each group thinks it’s a good chance, but at the same time, some worry about their decline in popularity since 2 other opposing groups are going to be there.
What Iori reasoned out for his thinking was justified. They were the most recent group that had risen to popularity, so it was expected for him to think that their popularity could waver, if they did a variety show with their rivals. The same thinking can be seen in the President of Yaotome Productions too.
Tumblr media
(He has such a mature personality... One can’t help but admire him...)
We got to hear a little bit of Tsumugi’s voice! I know, she is not a main character anymore, but at least mere sentences from her are worthwhile to hear.
Tumblr media
(Umm, can the guys and Tsumugi be provided with some new clothes? I have been seeing this since S1, haha ^^;)
Just as the meeting of the show ends, the camera starts rolling. And from here only, I can’t express how every scene made me laugh like crazy. I mean, they are hilarious!
I will just provide a gist here. They go to Atami for their show, and are given the challenge of writing a song within 24 hours. Although they are shocked, gradual banters are chatters help them to handle this task too.
And we know, when situation like this shows up, what older guys are going to do.
Tumblr media
(That was scheduled for the wrap up, but oh well.)
Regarding the ratio I talked about in the previous review, it’s the number of members sitting with their legs folded and those who aren’t! Well, their persona reflects through this one picture.
Poor Iori, these guys seem to not hear his instructions and discuss whatever they want.
I pitied the managers so much. Protecting their stars at each scene, haha. It’s well said that alcohol can bring out the truth. Not some moments after, and these guys started to talk about dicey subjects, totally tossing out the main task in hand. This only stops after the show gives instruction.
Ahem. Tenn was the star of this episode, in my opinion.
Tumblr media
(My heart... >///<)
Tumblr media
(Look at the two in the background knowing his double sided face, heh. And then there’s Riku.)
Jokes apart, what I said is actually true. We can see his improvement in personality when he has a conversation with Riku. It was not rash, but was formal, which is a good sign of the repairing of their tangled relationship.
The younger guys playing statue was soo cute!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ヾ(≧ ▽ ≦)ゝ)
RIKU. BOY. He can SEE GHOSTS. I literally squealed when he calmly mentioned how the ghost that the ‘shopping’ group brought home wants to play with them. And darn, the other two members of ‘courage test’ group didn’t even falter.
Oh. Let me tell you the splitting of groups.
Cooking group- Nagi, Tamaki and Momo.
Washing group- Gaku and Iori.
Courage test group- Riku, Ryu and Sogo.
BGM group- Tenn (he was given to take requests, pftt...)
Shopping group- Mitsuki, Yuki and Yamato.
Since only Riku could see the ghost, he conveyed her each message to them. And this was true that he was not hallucinating. Because when he said that the ghost is going to bathroom to practice scaring the members with them, the result is the proof-
Tumblr media
(Aw.)
Tamaki... The extent to which he was scared when the term ‘ghost’ popped up, and using Tenn to hide, was adorable.
Tumblr media
(How is one supposed to stop screaming when these scenes are shown??!! >.<)
The Tamaki-Tenn dynamics here made me to replay the scenes again and again, and yet again.
Tumblr media
(Darn, he is super kind...)
But again, Tenn, he also didn’t get scared. These two brothers surely are something, huh.
The courage test. OH GOD. It was the best part of the whole episode. Ahaha, whether it’s Mitsuki being a ghost, or Yuki, or Sogo... I was SCARED so much!!
You have been warned. The photos below may cause your heart to skip a beat, OR SCARE YOU THE MOST.
.
.
.
.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Nice one, Mitsuki.)
Tumblr media
(A-argh!!!!)
Tumblr media
(So-sogo?!)
Tumblr media
(Why is he hanging upside down, ahhh!!! Tamaki, I have the exact reaction as you.)
Haha, anyways, Tenn even suggests Riku to ask the ghost to return to her own world, and even sings ‘Dis One’ by Zero for her, as she was a Zero fan.
Tumblr media
(That smile is everything.)
What Riku says at last makes sense. Even though they ended up filming for a same show, they are still different and have their own goals to achieve.
Yeah, so that wraps up the review. I think this is the best episode of the whole season till now, as we saw the guys enjoying, without any tension. But you all know what this means.
We are all going to get some serious matters in the next episode. So buckle up! Apparently, this was also hinted in this episode as Momo found out how some staff from Tsukumo have stepped down from the show. Which means the only person he is sure of has started pulling the strings.
I hope not any guy gets hurt now...

See you next week~

Fragments Of Love CD Bonus Rabbit Chat Part 1: MEZZO"'s Missions
Part 2
Tsumugi: Hello, Sogo-san and Tamaki-san!
Tsumugi: As we previously discussed, it's time for "Finding MEZZO"'s fragments", a chat meeting that'll help  MEZZO" be reborn!
Tsumugi: Are you ready?
Tamaki: Yup
Sogo: I'm ready. So, why does this meeting have an official title?
Tsumugi: Mitsuki-san came up with it. It's based on your new song, Fragments of Love. The others also helped!
Sogo: I'm feeling  half excited and half scared right now. I   don’t like making the  guys worry.
Tamaki: We're not making 'em worry. And what do you even mean by MEZZO" being reborn?
Choices/outcomes:
1. You'll be closer friends!
Tamaki: We're friends already. We barely even fight these days. I think.
2. You'll understand each other more!
Sogo: Understand each other... Now that you mention it, I guess there are times when we have no idea what the other's thinking.
3. You'll have more fun together!
Tamaki: We can try, but I'm pretty sure we'll never end up like Re:vale.
Tsumugi: Please, just do your best! Both of you..!
Tsumugi: Did you arrive at the hotel yet?
Sogo: We just got into our rooms. Thank you for booking us two singles, by the way.
Tsumugi: No problem. We wouldn't have this sort of financial leeway without your help!
Tamaki: I don't wanna be in a single room
Sogo: I for one think it's all thanks to you and the rest  of the staff.
Tamaki: I don't wanna be in a single room
Tsumugi: Well then, let's begin our meeting!
Tsumugi: Are you alright, Tamaki-san?
Tamaki: If I close the curtains it gets super dark
Tamaki: I can't sleep alone
Sogo: We're in neighboring rooms. If anything happens, I'll come running.
Tamaki: No
Sogo: There's no ghosts here. I'm sure they've exorcised any rooms where suicides or violent crimes may have happened.
Tamaki: You're doing this on purpose!!!!!!
Sogo: You're the one who didn't want to room with me, because you thought it'd be m
Tsumugi: Sogo-san?
Tsumugi: M?
Tsumugi: Hello, are the two of you still there?
Tamaki: Yup
Tamaki: So-chan's asking them to change our rooms
Tsumugi: I see. I'm sorry, I should've asked you first..!
Tamaki: I'm underage
Tamaki: You can't put me in a single room until I turn 20
Tsumugi: I'll keep that in mind! ><
Sogo: Sorry for the wait. We switched rooms.
Tsumugi: Welcome back! I'm sorry for reserving you those rooms without asking...
Sogo: I'm sorry, too. To continue where I got cut off, he said it'd be "more chill" if I was not rooming with him.
Tsumugi: Thank you for the clarification! ><
Tsumugi: Let's begin. It's time for you to open your hearts and let everything out!
Tamaki: Let everything out? When we're in the same room?
Tsumugi: Is that a problem?
Tamaki: Well duh
Sogo: So you hate rooming alone, but you also hate rooming with me. What will it take for you to finally be happy?
Tamaki: I don't mind being in the same room, but talking about personal stuff like this is way too embarrassing
Sogo: I-I guess you have a point... It would be kind of awkward...
Tsumugi: Let's begin!
Tamaki: You're making us do it anyway!?
Tsumugi: Finding MEZZO"'s fragments: Mission 1!
Tsumugi: "You'll only give forced answers if we ask you to say something you like about each other, so how about this: tell us the nicest thing your partner's done for you so far!"
Tsumugi: This is from Mitsuki-san!
Tamaki: Uuuggghhhhhhhh
Tamaki: I don't wanna do this... It's just as embarrassing as I thought...
Sogo: This is why I wanted us to be in separate rooms...
Tsumugi: Your reactions tell me that you already have an answer in mind! Out with it!
Tamaki: You go first, So-chan
Sogo: Huh?
Sogo: Uh, okay. He's done plenty of nice things for me, but... I guess what made me the happiest was when he stayed by my bedside after I collapsed from exhaustion.
Tsumugi: Why is that?
Sogo: Because it confirmed my suspicions: That he's a kind boy who'll help me if I'm ever in trouble.
Tamaki: Why do you gotta tell her that, too...
Sogo: I didn't exactly have a choice...
Tsumugi: Tamaki-san was so worried that he practically looked after you 24/7. I felt a deep sense of affection just from watching you two!
Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Tamaki: Uuuurgh
Tamaki: I can't do this
Tamaki: Lemme out
Sogo: Can you stop rolling around already..?
Tamaki: I'm sweating...
Sogo: You and me both...
Tsumugi: Tamaki-san, it's your turn!
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Sogo: You don't have to keep sighing, you know...
Tamaki: When the other guys got mad but you defended me from them
Sogo: Which time?
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Tamaki: I'm DONE
Tsumugi: H-hold on! I remember that incident! It was after that reunion TV show!
Tamaki: Yeah
Sogo: Ah, that time. His initial answer was too vague for me to remember.
Tsumugi: Why did it make you happy?
Tamaki: Because when I punched my old man, I thought So-chan would be the angriest
Tamaki: But then he caught me totally off guard by standing up for me
Sogo: And that made you happy?
Tamaki: Why weren't you mad at me?
Sogo: I think I probably would've reacted in a similar way if I was in that position.
Sogo: I knew you were hurt by what happened, so I didn't want to make you feel even worse.
Tamaki: Hmmm
Sogo: I-is that a bad answer..?
Tamaki: It's fine
Tsumugi: That means you understood how Tamaki-san was feeling. And he wasn't the only one at fault for what happened... but I'm glad that incident brought you closer..!
Sogo: Thank you.
Tamaki: This meeting is super exhausting
Sogo: It does require more stamina than I expected...
Tsumugi: Finding MEZZO"'s fragments: Mission 2!
Tamaki: We're only at the second one...
Sogo: We're only at the second one...
Tamaki: We haven't even looked each other in the eye this whole time
Tsumugi: What!? lol
Tsumugi: In that case, this'll be the perfect mission for you!
Tsumugi: "What expression do you like to see on your partner's face? For the record, I like Sogo-san's gentle smile, and Tamaki's mischievous smile!"
Tsumugi: This is from Riku-san!
Tamaki: Huuuuuhh????
Sogo: His happy face, his bashful smiling face, the cool face he makes when he nails a dance move, and the tearful face he makes before apologizing, I guess?
Tamaki: Wait
Tamaki: How did you answer just like that
Sogo: Because I've been keeping a proper eye on you. Your provocative smile in our new MV is pretty cool, too.
Tsumugi: I can feel how much you care, Sogo-san! What about you, Tamaki-san?
Tamaki: So-chan's face...
Sogo: Please don't stare...
Tamaki: Anything except his angry face, I guess...
Tsumugi: Right!
Tamaki: Hmm. I don't really like the face he makes when he says he's fine but he's really not
Tamaki: No wait It's not his face, it's just when he says it.
Tamaki: His face is fine.
Sogo: Thank you...
Tsumugi: I don't see what's so embarrassing about this! lol
Tamaki: It's super embarrassing!!!  Watch out or I'm gonna make you and your dad do this, too!
Tsumugi: Ah... That would be tough... I-I'm sorry...
Tamaki: Right!?
Tamaki: I'm gonna open the window now! I need air!
Sogo: I'll go to the store for a bit. I can keep chatting while I'm there.
Tsumugi: Was it really that bad!?
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Tamaki: So-chan left
Sogo: I did.
Tsumugi: I-I suppose I'll have to give you the missions that aren't as embarrassing next!

Note
may i request,,soff hugcanons for itaru, misumi, tsumugi and azuma after they havent seen reader for awhile (sorry if thats too much its fine if u wanna shorten it thank u 💕)
np!! i got everything for u right here <3
Itaru, Misumi, Tsumugi, Azuma: They Miss You
Tumblr media
He doesn't like showing it, but he's one of the needy types when you two haven't seen each other for a long time. Either because of work or because your schedules overlap, Itaru gets quite frustrated when he doesn't see you every two or three days.
He starts cursing under his breath more and runs his fingers through his hair, and you two normally don't text because he's always playing a game on his phone and can't afford to be interrupted during it.
At times, when he feels that he's had enough of this separation, he'll text you late at night when he has nothing else to do: 'Yo. Let's meet at the convenience store or smth."
And then he'll don his usual tracksuit combo, but sub the jacket with his bomber. U know the one.
He breathes a huge sigh of relief when he sees you waiting for him at the front of the store with your hands in your pockets and your cap on low. You almost look like a sketchy stranger, but Itaru knows better
"You look creepy like that, Dummy." He'd tease you and flip your cap off your head with a cheesy grin. You'd scurry after him when he enters the store, cap on his head as he bites into a lollipop he had saved in his pocket earlier.
He buys whatever snacks you're craving for and adds an energy drink for himself. When you've got all your supplies, the both of you share a seat outside, with you curled up in his lap.
You're feeding both him and yourself as he plays a game on his phone, wrapped up in his jacket and arms as the cool night breeze rustles your hair.
This becomes the usual routine whenever you guys are stuck with a heavy schedule during the day.
Tumblr media
Surprisingly, Misumi is someone who doesn't show he misses you until he actually bumps into you.
It's almost like he completely forgot LOL
Okay, but fr, when he bumps into you he gasps.
"Ah!!! I missed you!!!" He exclaims and launches himself at you with a laugh. It's so all of a sudden that it makes both of you nearly topple over, but he saves you with his quick reflexes.
He's been so busy looking for triangles (and sleeping) that he almost totally forgot about you. No offense, really, but his mind is so taken up with triangles, acting, and onigiri that he'll temporarily forget about anything else.
When he does see you, you take up all of the space in his head!!!! He's basically got tunnel vision on and he can only focus on you!
"Where have you been?" He'd ask curiously. I don't think he has a phone (unless it's canon) so it's pretty difficult to contact Misumi at all. Most of the time you get updates from Kazunari since he's closer in age with Misumi than the other troupe members, but they're all weird messages lol
You explain why you have been so busy lately, but Misumi waves it off since it's not really a bother. Literally he couldn't care less, he just wants to talk. Idk why he asked pft I'm writing this shit
He takes you on a walk since whenever he goes out, the weather is always super nice! Not too hot, not too cold, but just right!
He's always holding your hand; he's a bit worried he'll lose you if he doesn't.
You go eat snacks with him at some point and he babbles on and on about how he was thinking of you and was trying to figure out a way to track you down.
You cough,,, Ahem . . . Bebs u don't have a phone....
You actually offer to give him one of ur old phones so you can talk through a messaging app but he quickly makes an X with his arms to decline.
"It's fun when I talk to you with Kazu!" He beams and you don't have the heart to say anything but....
Kazunari had the same idea as you though so the very next day you actually receive a message from Misumi himself LOL
'There's triangles!!!!! ∆∆∆☆'
Tumblr media
He gets fidgety when you're not around; doing things like fiddling with the watch on his wrist, readjusting his sleeves, or tapping a pen on his leg. He got real used to you being in his arms most of the time, and he doesn't know what to do when he's not doing it.
Tasuku ends up noticing right away and he rolls his eyes, suggests that Tsumugi make the move first and see you at whatever place you're chilling at.
Tsumugi gets flustered when he's caught thinking about you, and he shakes his head and slaps the back of his neck with an awkward smile as he claims that he doesn't want to disturb you.
"Look. I don't really know much about dating, but if you want to see them just say something."
So with what little skills he has with technology, manages to call you! And even manages to set a time and place to meet the next day!
His heart flutters when he sees you at your designated meeting place and immediately starts to walk faster to greet you!!!
He brought a couple of flowers too because he passed by a flower shop on his way to you.
You jump up when you see him come inside and both of you immediately latch onto each other for a hug. It's a warm, very tight hug that smells like vanilla and cherry blossoms and you're getting happy just because of it.
You're both giggling excitedly when you pull away, and Tsumugi cups your cheeks in his hands to give your widdle nose a kiss!
"I missed you." He pouts and you pout back at him, motioning for him to sit in the seat that was across from yours.
His energy never dissipates as you both talk about how your week has been going, and you know he's listening in earnest when he brushes his thumb along the back of your hand while staring at you with wide, sparkling eyes.
You guys definitely have the best dates when you haven't seen each other in a while.
Tumblr media
Azuma's emotions are really difficult to pinpoint. Not many can tell when he's missing you other than Sakyo, who spends the most time with him out of all of the dorm members.
He tends to stare off into space when he's thinking about you, and it looks really poetic when he has a mug in his hand because he traces the rim with his index finger as he looks lost in thought.
The corners of his mouth will be tilted upward as his mind races with images of you laughing and smiling, and he slumps forward in his seat as he cups his mug in his palms. He really loves it when you look at him like that.
Sakyo gets a little disgusted sometimes and tells him straight away that Azuma needs to go and see you or something.
Only thing is that Azuma isn't fond of going out during the day because of the sun (it's canon don't @ me) so you two actually have a bit of trouble seeing each other considering you don't find it safe to venture outside at night.
BUT!!!!!!!! Azuma drives! :o
It'll take him some time to find the location you send him on his phone, but he . . . . . gets there
His smile is all coy when you enter the car, but the 'I've missed you.' that falls from his lips is unmistakable.
You two go out and eat at one of those nice cafes that are open late at night as bars aren't in question anymore. He used to go and drink with clients, but it wasn't something he wanted to do with you. He felt you deserved more than just a couple lousy drinks at some stinky place.
And once you guys find a nice seat at the window, he's all over you <3 He wraps his arm around your shoulders first and scoots your chairs closer so that they're touching. He waits for you to lean into his side on your own, and when you're relaxing, his other arm comes, a hand resting on your thigh as you tuck your head against the spot between his neck and shoulder.
It's very chill, and you two talk idly about what has been going on lately as you take sips from your drinks.
You two end up staying very late at the cafe... ;; Haha

A (Staged) Confession
A/N: okay so, after I saw one of @little-ideas‘s headcanons about how Tasuku, Sakyo and Tsumugi would only confess to their crush if it was for a play, this idea just wouldn’t leave my head. Granted, it’s more cheesy than funny in comparision to the original post but I still wanted to give credit because the idea made me laugh a lot. Hope you enjoy it~
Character: Tasuku Takato x Reader
Pronouns: gender neutral. They/them during the first half and then switches to second person.
Tumblr media
“No, I won’t let it end. Not like this.” Mizu shook his head, a deep frown set on his face.
“It is not your choice to make.” Tsuki’s eyes were downcast, but their voice carried their conviction. “I have a duty to-”
“Duty? Honor? Who cares about any of that?,” he interrupted them swiftly, the composed look of detachment that graced their features was the last straw for him and his patience. “Your life is more important!”
They didn’t flinch in response to his booming voice, but their eyes refused to meet his as they answered. “My life is of no importance in the great scheme of things. If giving it away can help-”
“But it is unfair! Why should you have to sacrifice yourself for the people who shunned you in the first place?!”
“Because it is the right thing to do.” Their response was calm, collected, their voice didn’t waver in the slightest and for Mizu it was like a punch to the gut. This was not the Tsuki he knew, his companion, his friend, someone who had unexpectedly wormed their way into his heart. He had always been able to read them like a book and he used to tease them about it. However, he later came to learn that the way they wore their heart on their sleeve was a sign of strength. For them, there was no shame to be found in boisterous laughter and there was always dignity to be found in tears. But now…now there was a mask of cold indifference in the place where his friend’s expressive face had once been. And he hated it. He hated it and he just wanted to reach out and shake them by the shoulders and beg them to bring his Tsuki back.
So he did.
He gripped their forearms and brought them closer to him. They jumped slightly, clearly startled by his actions but they still refused to meet his gaze. His grip tightened.
“Please,” he breathed out, trying to find a way to communicate how he was feeling. “You don’t have to do this-”
“Yes, I do, I need to-”
“No, you do not need to. We can find another way! We can work this o-”
“Why do you care so much?!” Tsuki snapped back, finally lifting their gaze and with emotion seeping into their voice. And maybe it was the pain and confusion that painted their features or maybe it was his own desperation, but whatever the reason was, it made him blurt out what he had been pushing down for so long.
“Because I love you!”
For a moment that seemed to stretch, neither of them spoke. The only thing he could see was the surprise that shone in Tsuki’s wide eyes and the only sounds he could hear were those of their breathing and the thrumming of his own heart in his ears. He realised that he was shaking, but even then he couldn’t stop looking into their eyes, the windows to their soul, the windows that had always let him know how they felt, no matter how much they tried to hide it from him. And there he saw it, how the surprise gave way to disbelief, then to uncertainty and finally, to hope.
“You…you do?” their voice was tiny, no more than a whisper, but being so close meant he could hear it loud and clear. Their posture was still guarded, uncertain, but it was such an improvement from their previous attitude that it almost made him sigh with relief because this meant that they had finally discarded the mask they had been wearing.
“I-” he began but then he caught some movement from the corner of his eye.
It was Miyoshi and Nanao on one of the stage wings. A part of Tasuku’s brain was wondering when the hell had they entered the theatre and how had neither of you noticed it but another part, a bigger part, was trying to process what the small sign they were holding that read ‘THIS IS NOT AN ACT!” and the shit-eating grins on their faces meant. A beat of silence passed and it was only broken when a small voice called out to him. Your voice.
“Mizu…?” his gaze immediately landed back on you and the concerned look in your eyes. One of your arms broke free from his grip and you moved it to place your right hand on his cheek. It was a delicate touch, tentative and unsure. You were still in character. “Do you really mean it?”
Right, he has to deliver his next line ‘I don’t remember a time when I didn’t love you’; it was a soft confession, spoken with a fondness that reflected the feelings Mizu had been hiding deep down for years. And he tried to open his mouth and restart, but he couldn’t. Because his flow had broken, he wasn’t Mizu anymore and you weren’t Tsuki. You were (Y/N), you were one of his dearest friends and colleagues and this confession hit too close to home for him to say it without wanting to run away and don’t look back. He belatedly realized he took too long because he could see you broke character as well when he noticed the silent question that grew in your eyes in response to his silence.
He couldn’t speak, his brain had made the switch back to regular Tasuku and regular Tasuku did not know how to convey his feelings for you. He didn’t even know if he wanted to, that’s why he had kept trying to ignore them for so long. His mouth felt dry and he quickly averted his eyes. He was not a man of many words, and whatever words did came out of his mouth tended to be curt and to the point, without a lot of emotion packed into them. But he knew that confessions were important; they should be heartfelt, they should leave no room for doubt as to the nature of your feelings. He of all people should know that well, considering all the ‘princely’ roles he’s had to play in the past. But looking into your eyes he could only feel his heart in his throat and the warmth of your palm that was still resting on his cheek.
He didn’t know what you saw in his eyes at that moment but your confusion suddenly morphed into determination and before he knew it your other hand had grabbed the front of his shirt to make him lean down closer to your face. His eyes widened and he was sure his confusion was clearly written all over his features. Why were you doing this, were you ad-libbing, were you still in character, did he forget a scene from the script; his mind was racing with all these thoughts but when you stopped just a short breath away from his face and whispered “Tasuku….can I?” his brain almost crashed like an old computer.
His brain to speech link still wasn’t working but it turned out that it didn’t matter because his body seemed to have a mind of its own as he wasted no time leaning forward and capturing your lips with his own. If you were to ask him later to describe the feeling, he would say that it wasn’t spectacular like they portrayed in books and movies, his heart didn’t explode and fireworks didn’t go off behind his eyelids. But as his hands came alive to grab your waist and bring your bodies closer together, he felt warm all over; there was a pleasant tingle on his lips and his mind felt more at peace than it had been in a long time. He deepened the kiss, trying his damndest to convey what his heart was screaming and what his words had failed to say. The hand on his face was now on top of his head, and as your nails lightly scratched his scalp and he felt you smile into the kiss when you felt the shiver that ran through him, he couldn’t stop the thought of how much he wanted to bite your lip to wipe that cheeky grin off your face. Before he could do just that, though, the sound of cheering and obnoxious whistling reached his ears.
Both of you pulled apart and looked over at one of the wings, and there were Nanao and Miyoshi where he had last seen them. They had ridiculous smiles on their faces and they looked way too pleased with themselves for Tasuku’s liking. He was about to go shout at them to demand an explanation (even if their meddling did end up helping in the end) but you beated him to the punch.
“Thank you, guys, great job!” you laughed and, when the pair gave you thumbs up in return, Tasuku almost sprained his neck with how fast he twisted his head to look at you.
“You knew they were there?” his tone rose to match his disbelief but your smile just widened as you nodded.
“I overheard them scheming one day when I was visiting the dorms,” you began. “Well, they weren’t being very discreet so maybe ‘scheming’ isn’t the right word, but anyway. I heard what they wanted to do, and I thought that it would be a good way to check for myself whether they were right about your feelings or not, so I told them to count me in.”
He blinked once. Twice. Three times. He honestly didn’t know what was stronger, his fondness for you or the exasperation he felt at that very moment because all of you decided that this was a normal and acceptable way to get him to make a move on you.
“C’mon, Tax, don’t be mad. Y’know that you wouldn’t have done it if we hadn’t given you a little nudge in the right direction,” Miyoshi chimed in. “And besides, you ended up with a super adorbs gf as a result, so this really is a total win-win.” He winked and Nanao nodded furiously in agreement with a silly grin on his face.
Tasuku let out a long sigh and shook his head. “That’s true enough,” he conceded. Both of them high-fived and he sent a small smirk your way before turning back towards them. “But,” he interrupted their little celebration. “That doesn’t mean you’re getting away scot-free.”
“Aw, man, c’mon-”
“Yeah, Tasuku, please!”
He made a show of stretching his legs while staring right at them. “Run.”
And as he chased after the two he couldn’t help the grin that crept up on his face because over their pleas, he could also hear your laughter resonating from the stage.

I sure do!!
Well then, I shall divulge.
So, in my talentswap Kiyo is the protagonist as he is the ultimate detective. Originally this was just because I thought it fit but I definitely have more of a definite reason as to why I chose him for the ultimate detective. So a big thing I wanna do with this au, is to give more of the unpopular characters a spotlight, this can be seen with the main central group of the game, Kiyo as the ultimate detective, Tenko as the ultimate astronaut, and Angie as the ultimate child caretaker/assassin. (Which, yeah, It's kinda funny how these three ended up being the main trio considering what happened with them in canon) And when I played v3 I always thought Kiyo was super interesting, not only his talent but also his entire personality. It was so unlike what you would expect from the typical dr cast, I mean the creepy guy of the cast isn't the main antagonist? It was so different and it drew me towards his character, and I even indulged in a few of his free times which were always super fun just because I learned something new with each one.
And then, well, chapter 3 happened. I don't believe I have to explain what happened with that. I remember being kinda bummed out, I mean, the creepy weirdo just ended up being a creepy weirdo, a creepy weirdo who was abused by his shitty sister, but a creepy weirdo nonetheless. Didn't help that I have a brother that I'm decently close with; the entire thing just made me very uncomfortable. So I figured it would be super interesting to go through a story with Kiyo's lenses, to understand why he believes the things that he does and to give him a second chance, in a way.
Also when I really sat down and thought about it, it made a lot of sense to me. Like, in this au I want to keep their backstories intact, (for the most part) and I also wanna keep the fact that they were originally pursuing their canon talents until an event happens that changes their mind. So originally Kiyo was still gonna go for the anthropolgy route, but on one of his vacations, he happened upon a murder case. In the beginning he planned to just observe how the scene would play out, but because he's so attuned with people, he ends up finding out the killer and has him arrested. After this he becomes fascinated with criminals, about their ideologies, their psychology, the history behind past criminals. And so he then redirects his path towards that of a detective, perhaps partially out of a sense of justice, but mainly out of a morbid curiosity to see, "how far the depths of humanity can go."
I also noticed how in the canon story Kiyo often likes to observe others and sorta likes to stay neutral on most topics and I feel this would really benefit him as a detective. But yeah! That's essentially the reason I decided to make him the ultimate detective but let's dive into more of his background and how he grows throughout the story.
So, let's just go ahead and get this out the way. The sister issue. Now, as I stated before, I have a brother I'm close with myself so the entire incestuous relationship with Kiyo and his sister makes me deeply uncomfortable. So I'm sorta divided on two options. 1. I could eradicate sister from Kiyo's story completely and pretend she never existed. Or 2. I keep sister but simply change the form of abuse she inflicts on Kiyo. I'm leaning more towards the second option as this way I'm not just neglecting the abuse Kiyo went through, but I also don't have to make myself uncomfortable by acknowledging the incest stuff.
Anyway! Moving on to the more exciting stuff. So, I still want to have Kiyo involved with the occult, or at least he used to be. See, possibly a year or two ago, (and possibly in regards to sister's death but I'm undecided on that) Kiyo performs a ritual that goes horribly wrong. And the result of this ritual enables Kiyo to see and hear the spirits of the departed. And while at first it was intriguing, it soon became annoying at best and mentally draining at worst. It's simply a fact of life he has to deal with, and due to this power he can see and hear the ghosts of his dead classmates throughout the story. Which is both a blessing and a curse.
Now, as for his development throughout the story, here's what I'm thinking. Now, Kiyo doesn't really have many confidence issues, he's proud in his line of work and he's unapologetic about his beliefs and such. And I wouldn't really wanna repeat Shuichi's storyline anyway. So, for this au, I think Kiyo's arc throughout the game will be learning to trust and gain acceptance amongst people he loves. Rather than the twisted perception of love that Kiyo gives off in canon, I'd want Kiyo's result from sister's abuse to be that no one loves him and no one ever will.
He then begins to believe that love doesn't exist, and not just romantic love, but any kind of love. But rather than grow depressed by this fact, Kiyo uses it as a way to uplift himself. Telling himself that he doesn't need love and that he's perfectly fine being alone. To put it bluntly he's basically just coping from the abuse, trying to use it as shield to protect himself when in reality it's just a sword pointed at himself. But then again, what reason would he have for not believing this? This very concept is what's made him such a great detective.
He doesn't take sides because he can't understand the reasoning behind either side, not in an emotional way anyway. And even though he's incredibly successful in his work, there's a part of him deep down that is terribly lonely. A part of him that longs for company, a part of him that wishes he knew why hatred always burns in the eyes of those he arrests. And it isn't until he's kidnapped and taken to the Ultimate Academy that he finally has to acknowledge this part of himself. This starts with his relationship with Tenko.
Which, as you might expect, doesn't start too well. Tenko of course still has her "degenerate male philosophy" (though after chapter 1 this part of her becomes severely toned down and we get to see what her actual character is like sorta like what canon should have done before chapter 3) but Tsumugi, (ultimate pianist) accompanies Kiyo for a lot of chapter 1 and this sort of slowly warms Tenko up to Kiyo. After chapter 1 tho, when Kiyo flawlessly solves the first case, Tenko sees how useful Kiyo is and grows a sort of begrudging respect for him. After the trial she congratulates him on a job well done and Kiyo appreciates the gesture, obviously being able to tell that it wasn't something she was particularly ecstatic to do. Chapter 2 comes around and if you read my ask about Maki (ultimate artist) , you know this is when she starts spreading the "rumor" that Angie is an assassin.
Kiyo initially doesn't buy this at all, because even though he's exceptionally good at reading people, Angie is a total blank for him, so he can't really confirm or deny the rumors. What he does notice, though, is that Tenko seems to he strangely angry at these rumors, growing visibily distressed whenever Maki brings them up. He doesn't really get it, seeing as though he's only seen the two talking a handful of times, but he brushes it off but he doesn't get involved with people's personal bis. Until Tenko comes to him. He's surprised to see her and even more surprised to see the angry expression on her face.
She tells him that they can't keep letting this go on. He asks what and she responds with the rumors. He agrees that the rumors have gotten out of hand but he asks her what she wants him to do about it. She tells him that he is the only one that the others will believe. And he's like, fair enough, but why do you care so much. And she responds saying, "Because I have her motive video." Kiyo is shocked by this info and asks why she can't just tell them herself. And she says that, "Well, because the rumors are true, she is the ultimate assassin."
Kiyo is again flabbergasted and asks Tenko if she intends on him lying and she says yes. He asks her why, in the most sincerest tone, truly not understanding why anyone would go this far to lie about someone they hardly know, Tenko responds. "Because something isn't right, Monokuma has to be playing some trick, there's no way Angie is capable of murder." Kiyo still doesn't understand, but seeing the fierce determination in her eyes, he knows he won't be able to refuse her offer. And so he agrees that tomorrow he will do his best to dispel the rumors about Angie and convince everyone that she isn't an assassin. And then, the very next day, another body is discovered.
Immediately the opportunity to clear the air is gone in the mass confusion. And it's not long after that everyone begins to pin their blame on Angie. So, Tenko approaches Kiyo again asking if she can accompany Kiyo on his investigation, but only on the basis of defending Angie. Kiyo, who isn't used to working with others, hesitantly agrees and the two form a reluctant partnership. Kiyo initially plans to work on his own but after Tenko finds a few vital pieces of evidence he grows more accustomed to her presence and the two actually bond quite a bit, although they don't admit it.
Eventually the investigation ends and the two head to the trial together, convinced that Angie isn't the killer. Of course the main lie of this trial is that Angie is not the ultimate assassin, the only real thing that was pinning her to this case. After that is cleared up, Kiyo, along with some help from Tenko, solve the case. All is well and good with the world it seems, until Maki speaks up. She asks Monokuma to show Angie's motive video, just to be 100% sure that she isn't the ultimate assassin.
Immediately Tenko retorts, saying that they already cleared up that she wasn't but Maki replies.
"Well, if you're so sure that Angie isn't an assassin, then you should have no problem with me showing this right?"
"Unless, you know something we don't?"
The others agree with Maki and demand that the motive video be shown. Tenko looks to Kiyo, demanding he do something but Kiyo shakes his head. "They're too far gone now." Tenko clenches her fists, but doesn't say another word. With a grin of pure malice, Maki tells Monokuma to show the video and he complies, if a bit reluctantly due to Maki's tone. The video plays and the truth is revealed, Angie is the ultimate assassin.
After the video the students erupt into an uproar, angrily turning towards Tenko and Kiyo and demanding why they lied. Tenko responds that if they hadn't lied, the rest of the students would have gotten them killed. They also turn on Kiyo, asking why a detective would lie. He responds saying it was the only way to get to the truth. He also adds that Angie being an assassin had nothing to with this case, they already determined the true killer.
But despite their statements many of the students are still outraged as they mount the elevator. They also notice Angie is not with them, as she seems to have disappeared during the chaos. Two individuals however observe the scene with twisted glee, Maki and Kiibo (ultimate supreme leader). After everyone gets off the elevator, Tenko approaches Kiyo. She thanks him for standing up for Angie, and this time she actually sounds genuine. She then admits that maybe he's different than the other degenerate males and that he's not so bad. Kiyo accepts the sort of compliment and Tenko walks off.
And for the first time Kiyo feels happy. Now he's felt satisfaction after a solved case and even sometimes felt contentment but, he can't remember the last time he felt happy. The last he felt like he belonged. And after this the two from a solid friendship, one that will carry them throughout the entire game and Angie joins the squad too and as much as I'd love to get into their relationship this post is far too long already and I wouldn't wanna waste anymore of your time. But! I hope this was enjoyable at the very least.
I really enjoy getting these asks because they always help me to flesh out the story and the characters and they're always super fun to write so if you ever wanna know about any of the other characters, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for the ask!

Nanase Riku: Wonderful Octave Rabbit Chat Part 2
Tsumugi: Everyone, thank you for gathering when you’re busy! I thought that I would collect requests for “RADIO STATION ‘Twelve Hits!’” here.
T: To manage the chat and check the contents, us managers will also participate. Please take care of us!
7: I’m looking forward to the requests from everyone! Please take care of me!
100: It’s worth thinking about the request if you say that~!
8: Eh? You’re thinking of it now?
100: I already thought of it tho. (ゝ∀・*)
1000: You already thought of it huh.
7: Momo-san’s requests are fun ones that always hype up the show! I always think they’re amazing!
100: Riku, you’re cute. (*>ω<)ω<*)
100: What kind of request would be good? Shall I ask for your order as an exception?!
1: Excuse me. Can you please not spoil our center?
9: Please do it as usual.
3: Denied by the guardians lolololol
2: They shut it out immediately (lol)
7: Iori and Tenn-nii, are you guys always going to treat me like a kid?!
7: [Angry Kinako Stamp]
100: I’ll go with the request I thought about properly lol
T: I’m looking forward to what requests there will be! Then, this time I will ask starting from the youngest again.
T: From Tamaki-san please!
4: Kay.
4: Tell us your unfailing funny stories.
7: That means the funny story which makes everyone laugh no matter who heard?
4: Yeah yeah. Your best one.
7: Got it! What should I talk about? I have a lot of funny stories!
6: Requesting for Riku to tell a funny story… Tamaki is a gambler huh.
3: When Riku says, “I have a funny story so listen!” sometimes it’s something we don’t really understand lol
7: Eh! That doesn’t happen right?!
4: Totally does.
1: It does.
7: Eeeeeh?!
1: Nanase-san, you laugh too easily sometimes.
2: Last time when you were talking about mishearing “ikura” and “okura,” you were talking like it was really fun right? Even we laughed infectiously too (lol)
10000: Since you talk with laughter, it’s fun to listen huh.
4: Rikkun talking passionately is funny and I like it!
7: I thought everyone laughed because the stories were funny...
7: And Sougo-san?! You think my stories are funny right!
5: Eh.
5: R-Right. It will be really catchy for some people!
7: Seeee!
3: Riku is positive huh! lololol
6: Sometimes, Sogo’s kindness is sharp as a knife.
T: Ikura and okura’s unfailing funny story amused me…!
T: Next is Iori-san please!
1: Yes. From me it’s “Try the request with all your might.”
1: There are a lot of fans who like to see an energetic and hardworking Nanase-san. I’m still  thinking about the request, but as a radio show, it will be something huge.
2: Oh, as expected. It’s a good request that can show Riku’s nice appeal.
9: It’s a wholesome, fresh request that’s suitable for teen male idols.
7: Your request huh. I wonder what it will be!
1: It would be nice if it’s something like playing musical instruments like we have done in “IDOLiSH Night!”
1: I just thought about it but for example, mimicking the voice of the bunny at the production office.
9: I feel like that’s totally different tho.
Anesagi: It is.
1000: Doesn’t that just mean you want to see that Riku-kun?
10: I see, I get it! Because Riku-kun copying the bunny would be cute huh!
1: Inot
1: It’s not like that.
1: It’s just an idea.
1: I just wrote it down the idea that listeners would like because I thought about it.
7: If Iori wants to see it, I’ll mimic Kinako!
7: Myu! Myu~!
1: I’m saying it’s not. (Mad) (Mad) (Mad)
T: There will be many things you can do, it will be hard to choose…! Is there anything that Riku-san wants to try?
*T: Like a super hard recipe?
7: Like making curry from spices? We could do a curry party with everyone after the on-air!
1: Isn’t that too hard to try over the radio?
7: Right! Cuz it has to be something that can be understood with just the sound huh.
8: I thought making soba would be good but it seems hard huh.
4: Making pudding?
7: Everything seems interesting!
3: It would be hard without any visuals. Let’s keep those ideas for “IDOLiSH Night!”
1: I’ll think of something short and that works with only the sound for “Twelve Hits!”.
7: Thanks, Iori! Copying Kinako is fine too!
T: Iori-san, thank you for the specific idea! Next is Riku-san’s request for yourself please.
7: Yes! My request is “I want to show what I like about IDOLiSH7!”
7: I want to hear what IDOLiSH7's good points are and what the members like and such!
6: It’s a wonderful request! :-) Please thoroughly talk about what kind of me you like :-)
3: We’re talking about everyone! lol
7: A point I like about Nagi is even though you are older than me, you’re sometimes acting spoiled; I have lots of others!
6: Thanks, Riku. To makes you happier, I will become Riku’s younger brother from today onwards. I’ll be spoiled as much as you want.
6: Riku-oniisan.
7: Waaah! I’m happy! Doesn’t Nagi being a younger brother sounds amazing?!
5: Just hearing how he called it, it’s more like a neighbor than an actual brother…?
4: Nagicchi, me too!
6: I will gladly call you. Tamaki-oniisan.
4: Oooh! Somehow good!
4: Nagicchi, you have a younger brother talent.
7: I get it!
6: :-)))))
7: How about Iori asks him?!
1: Please don’t play weird games.. I’m fine.
6: Don’t hold back. Iori-oniisan.
7: That’s great huh, Iori! That you’re a big brother!
4: Isn’t it great.
1: What is this conversation?!
3: Our kids are cute lololol
10: It’s lively and cute. It feels like I’m seeing my brothers in my hometown!
100: Being like a big family is nice huuh!
1000: Everyone wanna be our kid?
2: Hahahah. It’s an interesting joke huh.
100: Yamato’s face is straight isn’t it lol
6: If I have brothers like everyone, I won’t get bored everyday X-)))
T: A big i7 family seems fun! lol
T: So then, next can we hear the request from Kujou-san please?
9: From me, “I want to hear Nanase-san’s goal for now.”
7: Goal meaning as an idol right…?
9: Of course. How do you want to be as an idol from now on, I wanna hear from Riku.
100: Suddenly it’s serious!
8: Like Tenn, it’s a serious one huh.
10: Yeah. It’s something only Tenn would ask huh.
7: My goal as an idol huh…
7: I want Tenn-nii to hear me too. About how I feel when I’m on the stage and what I want to deliver to them when I’m singing!
7: I want Tenn-nii to understand my way.
7: I’ll definitely pull this request!
9: If you actually pull this request, I’ll listen to your determination seriously.
7: Expect a lot from me!
T: Kujou-san, thank you for the serious request!
T: Next how about a request from Nagi-san?
6: From me it’s “Please tell me what ice cream you like.”
7: Ice cream? It’s fine but, that’s your request?
6: It’s because I ate Riku’s wafer ice cream the other day. I’m sorry… For an apology, I’ll buy what Riku likes.
6: It was an unavoidable tragedy. Please complain about this to the summer heat.
7: It’s been really hot lately huh! Lol I thought I ate it without realizing cuz it was so hot!
2: It’s only Nagi who could bring this request in this serious atmosphere.
6: Wafer ice cream is godly. (∩´∀`)∩
8: And he’s not regretting at all (lol)
9: Even though Gaku did something similar recently.
8: I did? I don’t remember eating someone else’s ice cream.
9: It wasn’t ice cream. You didn’t remember so it means you don’t feel sorry after all.
10: Maybe, was it when Gaku mistook Tenn’s toothbrush and used it?
8: Huuh? It’s about that again? I noticed that right before I use it, it’s fine since I didn’t actually use it right?
9: Huh, now you shift to a defiant attitude?
10: Well well. We’ve written everyone’s names properly on them now so they won’t be mistaken anymore!
5: TRIGGER-san writes their names on their toothbrushes?!
7: Did he write “Tenn” on it…?
10: He wrote “TENN”!
9: Ryuu, you don’t have to say it.
7: Tenn-nii, it’s in English huh! So adult!
1: It’s more like a child though.
8: I wrote Yaotome.
10: I wrote Ryuu!
Okazaki: TRIGGER’s gap makes us feel their affinity!
Anesagi: You guys are not kindergarteners right... Please make now’s conversation off the record.
T: Y-Yes! I got it! Next is the request from Sougo-san please.
5: Yes. From me it’s “Let me hear a scary story.”
5: Since it’s summer, I thought a chilling request would be nice. Riku-kun has a sixth sense, so it seems like you have a lot of stories.
7: Feels summery! Please leave it to me!
4: I woooooon’t!!!!!!!!
3: This time it was canceled by Tamaki!
4: SO-CHAN WHY YOU DO A SCARY REQUEST?!!!!
5: I-Is that bad? I thought it’s seasonal and nice...
7: It’s fine, Tamaki. I won’t do that scary of a story! It’s not like ghosts are always doing scary things anyways.
7: Just last week, something interesting happened in the dorm bathrooms!
3: I said no bathrooms!!
2: No to the bathroom.
1: Bathroom is not good...
7: Eh, is that so? Then, I’ll talk about the bath!
3: That doesn’t really change it lololol
1: Um, Yotsuba-san froze like a rock...
7: Waah! Tamaki, I’m sorry! I didn’t intend to scare you..!
5: I’ll prepare earplugs so that Tamaki-kun doesn’t hear.
10: Sougo-kun, you think about your partner huh!
100: Is plugging your partner’s ears and continuing to talk about the horror stories thinking about them…? lolol
1000: The attitude of not changing the request is so rock, nice.
7: So that Tamaki won’t feel scared, I’ll tell a fun ghost story…!
10000: That’s not a horror story anymore lol
T: I’m a little interested in a fun ghost story... 3: But anyways, Tamaki seriously doesn’t move..!
6: Let’s wait for him to reboot :-)
5: I’m sorry. Can we take a little break?
5: After Tamaki-kun recovers, I’ll give him a presentation of the summer horror stories and demands as a radio show project. If it doesn’t work, I’ll think about different request.
7: Sougo-san, let’s give him a presentation together! Because it’s a request you thought up for me!
5: Thanks, Riku-kun.
T: So then, let’s take a little break!
7: I’ll contact you when we can start again!
V2:
T: There will be many things you can do, it will be hard to choose…! Is there anything that Riku-san wants to try?
T: How about a farming experience?
7: I think it would be super hard but I wanna try! Freshly harvested vegetables seem especially delicious!
1: Isn’t that too hard to try over the radio?
V3:
T: There will be many things you can do, it will be hard to choose…! Is there anything that Riku-san wants to try?
T: Tap-dancing Riku-san seems cool!
7: I-Is that so? Since you recommended it to me, maybe I’ll try it…!
1: Isn’t that too hard to try over the radio?

hello!! uwu i’m a Virgo, exactly five feet in height, straight waist-length brown hair, deep set dark brown eyes, and basically petite in general. i consider myself to be an ambivert since there are times i prefer solitude and other times excitement and fun. i’m also quite feminine to the point i find it hard to resist glittery, shiny and/or adorable things. i’m empathetic and sensitive as well so i cry rather easily over trivial things sometimes, which mostly leads me to depression. (1/3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’d match you with: Tsumugi Tsukioka
Tumblr media
➻ one; i feel like you are the exact replica of Tsumugi but with a little bit more glitter. it really wasn’t hard for you two to start a conversation because you basically share the same interests. honestly, when you said goodbye for the first time after sharing contact information with each other he couldn’t wait to see you again.
➻ two; Tsumugi is the type of person who understands that you need your alone time sometimes so whenever you prefer to solitude, he will give you the space you want. to be honest, he sometimes needs his alone time too. but whenever you feel excited or enthusiastic he will go along with you because let’s face it, this boy loves it when you smile but he also feels like his heart is shattering into pieces whenever you cry. luckily Tsumugi is known for his empathy and sensibility so whenever you cry about something he will be your shoulder to cry on. seriously though, when he gently embraces you and strokes your hair you instantly feel a lot better. also since he majored in psychology in university he will notice if your moods lead you to depression and do everything in his power to get you to feel better. listening to others is one of his strengths so if you want to talk with someone, he is your number one guy to go. as for you being a perfectionist, Tsumugi has a great need for harmony so he can relate but i don’t think he would be extreme about it. oh, but you hit the jackpot with being a hopeless romantic because even though he is a bit timid he is the sweetest person you will ever meet, a literal angel. he is the type of boyfriend who would gladly take you to a romance movie or a play for example. he also remembers every single anniversary or important dates such as your birthday and gets you things that he thinks you enjoy. he knows how your eyes sparkle whenever you see something adorable or shiny. his personal favorite gifts for you are necklaces because firstly, you look stunning in them and secondly, they fit in every criteria that you have, but don’t think you won’t get a bouquet of flowers as well. in fact, this boy will think about the type of flowers he wants to include in the bouquet for quite some time, carefully going over every flowers’ meaning in his head to select the perfect one for you.
➻ three; you like nature? perfect. because so does Tsumugi. well, i’m not saying he is the type of guy who would go camping or anything but we all know how much he loves flowers and gardening. since you are also interested in nature he would totally teach you what every flower means or how you can take care of every single one of them. you even catch him talking to flowers sometimes and it’s the cutest thing ever. “Grow biiiig, grow beautifuuul... Wah! Sorry, I got caught up in watering the plants and...” also i’m not sure what they are exactly called but do you know those social activities when a group of people come together and pick up the trashes in beaches or somewhere similar. i think Tsumugi is the kind of person who would join those activities if he has the time from time to time and i get the feeling you would too and then bam! it’s now your tradition to participate in those kind of social activities once a month or two. after a day of hard work, Tsumugi would take you to a cafe and get you your favorite sweets, with some coffee if you want, and then talk to you about anything, be it how good it feels to do something good for the nature or his excitement for a new play. speaking of, you like theater? then if you’re not participating in a social activity, then you are definitely catching a good play at least twice a month. you are also invited to every single troupe’s play but you will always get the best seat for the winter troupe’s. by the way, did i mention that Tsumugi finds it super calming whenever you play the piano or the violin? because he really does, like he gets that peaceful smile whenever he hears you play something. it makes him feel like he can do anything if you’re by his side and he cherishes that feeling a lot. sadly, Tsumugi doesn’t have much time to travel since he is busy with either rehearsals or his part-time job. but he is willing to surprise you with a short trip from time to time, i’m just saying.
➻ four; Tsumugi’s birthday is on december 28th which makes him a capricorn. when virgo and capricorn join together in a love match, theirs is a pragmatic, smart relationship. virgo and capricorn are a sweetly matched pair that can become wholly devoted to one another. neither wants a fly-by-night affair and will instantly pick up on the earthy depth as promising for a long-term relationship. both need the reassurance of respect. both find loyalty and enduring love a big draw. they intuit what the other likes/dislikes, and try to provide tangible, but understated signs of affection. both signs are highly rational, and both expect a lot of themselves and others. virgo adores capricorn’s dedication and intensity, while capricorn admires virgo’s intuition and attention to detail. together they form a solid union based firmly in reality. this relationship has a strong foundation that is based on material security and a realistic approach to life in general. these signs don’t let their emotions or impulses take over and you can count on both. virgo can help capricorn to relax a little and appreciate all they have worked to attain. capricorn can help virgo achieve goals and makes dreams a reality through initiation. they live a very comfortable life together.

Danganronpa V3 Commentary: Part 6.9
Be aware that this is not a blind playthrough! This will contain spoilers for the entire game, regardless of the part of the game I’m commenting on. A major focus of this commentary is to talk about all of the hints and foreshadowing of events that are going to happen and facts that are going to be revealed in the future of the story. It is emphatically not intended for someone experiencing the game for their first time.
Last time as we got even deeper into the fiction reveals of trial 6, I tried probably too hard to justify the auditionees’ nonsensical ideas of how any of this even works, those assholes were nonetheless not the same people as our friends in here in any meaningful way, Tsumugi’s claim that she scripted Maki’s feelings for Kaito was total bullshit but still hit Maki right in the issues about being her own person, her similarly bullshit claim that Kaede and Kaito were never real hit Shuichi right in his own dependency issues, the audience completely stopped being even remotely believable human beings in their reactions to this, and Shuichi broke down and needs to reboot.
While we’re waiting for that to happen, we’ll have to make do with Keebo.
BAD END
Keebo:  “Is this the end? Please tell me. I’m asking you.”
I suppose we’re meant to believe that the Bad End message is something that Keebo sees? Which seems kind of odd. Or maybe it’s just something that the in-universe audience were shown through Keebo’s eyes.
But it also kind of reads as more of an out-universe thing, since we the players are the only ones playing this as an actual game that could potentially have bad endings. This kind of gives this the effect that Keebo is also speaking to us, the out-universe audience, and that we’ve been his inner voice this whole time. Which doesn’t actually make sense – if we’ve been anyone’s inner voice it’s been Shuichi’s, but that’s obviously not really an in-universe thing.
This is probably for the sake of trying to fool us into feeling like the in-universe audience is a force for good, just like Keebo is going to still naively believe for a while. Not sure how convincing that is after a proportion of the audience last time had absolutely zero empathy with Shuichi’s despair, though.
Keebo:  “Whenever I was in trouble, my inner voice would always guide me. That guidance is what brought me here. I don’t believe that’s a mistake.”
His inner voice’s guidance has done fuck all to bring him here. He’s here because he was lucky enough that nobody happened to try to murder him, and sensible enough not to kill anyone himself. I would like to give Keebo enough credit to think that he didn’t need his inner voice to talk him out of murder (…well, at least until this chapter, apparently). All the voice has done is make his actions a bit more proactive and optimistic, but that has meaningfully affected basically nothing of note that’s happened here.
Save this situation?
-      No
Remedy this situation?
-      Yes
It is perhaps a little confusing that you’re meant to say no to the first prompt, because one might have already realised that it’s not necessarily a literal save-the-game prompt and is instead talking about saving Keebo’s friends. This probably works better in Japanese, in which the first word is the English loanword “save”, which I don’t think has any meanings other than the save-the-game meaning, and then it changes to an actual Japanese word for save/rescue/ etc.
Keebo:  “My inner voice is telling me I need to… remedy this situation.”
Apparently this is very much not the same part of the audience that was just mindlessly and sadistically laughing about Shuichi’s despair last time. Since Keebo’s inner voice is an audience survey, it must be a majority that wants this instead, which means we have to assume that those comments we saw before were deliberately cherry-picked to be all the despair-loving ones.
At least this does a decent job of actually making the in-universe audience feel like the good guys, then, since they don’t want Shuichi and friends to be in despair. It makes them seem that way for now, at least.
Oh hey, here’s the music from Danganronpa 1 that was essentially Makoto’s “objection” theme. Of course that’s showing up in this game now. Keebo is basically supposed to be playing Makoto’s role, after all. (Emphasis on supposed.)
Keebo:  “We can’t give up. No matter what, hope is always within reach. We must keep our heads high and search for hope, even in the deepest despair.”
Aaaaaand it’s meaningless buzzword time! You can’t search for hope itself. The act of searching is hope, but only if you’re searching for something that will meaningfully, tangibly make your situation better!
Shuichi:  “Hope…?”
I wonder if Shuichi’s realising that what Keebo’s saying doesn’t mean anything and is wondering why he’s throwing this word around so eagerly for no reason. Nothing is going to give Shuichi hope without actually addressing the reason he’s in despair, encouraging him to believe that he’s not all just fictional and his friends weren’t just empty lies. Without that, Keebo is just spouting meaningless platitudes that won’t solve a thing.
Keebo:  “…You said so yourself – this killing game is the Ultimate Real Fiction. If this is both real and fiction, then logically it can’t all be fiction.”
This is an actually useful argument he’s making, at least. But he really shouldn’t need to use logical deduction from Tsumugi’s words to realise that obviously they’re still real in the sense that they exist and have physical bodies and will really die – and therefore that all of that applied to their friends who died, too.
Tsumugi:  “Oh, your inner voice? That’s the voice of the outside world.”
It should be a huge risk for her to be telling him this. Logically this should immediately lead to Keebo refusing to listen to anything his inner voice is saying to him. He won’t for a long while, though, because he’s apparently kind of an idiot. Or just very, very brainwashed. Or a bit of both.
Tsumugi:  “I know cuz I wrote your plotline, too.”
That’s not a “plotline”, that’s just a neat audience-participation feature. The actual plotline that Keebo would follow based on that is entirely up to the audience.
Tsumugi:  “You’re the audience surrogate.”
This might partly explain why Keebo’s character has always been rather vaguely defined and they never did much with all the interesting potential of him being a robot who’s trying his hardest to learn to be human: because he’s supposed to be a blank-slate self-insert for the in-universe audience to see themselves as. They’re obviously not going to be able to relate his thing of being a robot. Makoto and Hajime were both pretty ordinary guys without anything too overly distinctive about them because they were basically audience surrogates, too.
(And Kaede and Shuichi have far more distinct personalities and characters because they’re not audience surrogates like the previous two games’ protagonists were.)
“Hifumi”:  “That function exists to keep the audience entertained.”
Yes, because clearly they’d all have been super bored by this whole killing game if they hadn’t been giving Keebo meaningless nudges to be a little more optimistic from time to time. Nothing else about this game has been remotely entertaining without him, right!?
The hints earlier that Danganronpa might have been getting stale and on its last legs by now do support the idea that this is something they did to try and keep people interested, but Tsumugi is still giving herself way too much credit here.
“Chihiro”:  “It’s two-way communication that lets you participate in the program from home.”
Oh, boy, is this the line that’s supposed to justify how Shuichi will ultimately change the outside world by yelling at them a bunch – because he does it through Keebo’s nebulous “communication” feature? Yeah, because that’s totally so different from them simply listening to him because they’re watching this trial.
Tsumugi:  “The outside world has been watching from your eyes the whole time! It lets them feel like they’re really a part of the Danganronpa world!”
This cannot be the whole truth. For one thing, if they’ve only ever seen through Keebo’s eyes, then outside of trials, the audience must have been really, really bored? All of the interesting character interactions – all of the watching Shuichi grow and develop which was in-universely meant to be one of the main plotlines of this story – happened nowhere near Keebo. The audience should have been poking Keebo to hang out with more people, maybe get closer to Shuichi, so that they could actually see any of that.
(Although the fact that Keebo apparently spent more of his time with Miu than anyone else is… unfortunately probably quite an accurate representation of what an audience would do. I have seen way too many LPers of this game hang out with Miu for reasons that completely elude me because why would anyone ever want more of her than necessary unless they’re shallowly taken in by the fanservice. I feel very bad for the sensible minority watching through Keebo’s eyes who were fed up with her but didn’t have enough of a majority vote to do anything about it.)
But that collage of illustrations we had a while ago that Tsumugi presented as part of “Danganronpa V3” rather proves that Keebo’s camera is not the audience’s only viewing option. Why would they want to limit the viewers to just that when they have Nanokumas everywhere and could be giving them the choice to follow whichever character they want? And since the Nanokumas are so invisible and mobile that they can get any angle, watching via them would also make one feel as though they’re really in the Danganronpa world anyway, even if it’s not literally through a character’s eyes.
Tsumugi:  “That’s why I’m so glad you survived all the way through!”
What the hell were you planning to do if he didn’t? Did you not even have any kind of failsafe in place to try and make sure nobody happened to murder him?
“Junko”:  “If the audience surrogate falls into despair, then the audience does, too. By making you fall into despair, I can make the entire world fall into despair!”
That’s, uh, not how audience surrogates work. The audience only feels the same thing their surrogate characters feel through the power of empathy and imagination, but that’s not the same thing as actually being in despair when their character is. If anything, seeing Keebo fall into despair should just make the audience cheer more for him to not give up and keep having hope. You know, just like they should also be cheering for Shuichi and his friends to not despair right now, if they were a halfway reasonable and decent audience.
“Junko”:  “My despair will turn from fiction to fact and destroy reality itself.”
However, Tsumugi most likely knows that this doesn’t make sense and is really just saying this to try and pander to the audience and make them feel like this matters. While it’s kind of half her fault for practically telling them herself, the characters in this story have completely messed up her script by figuring out how fictional this all is. But hey! Never mind them (who cares about them anyway they’re not real, right), this is totally all about you guys in the audience! She’s trying to make everyone ignore the fact that her story has gone completely off the rails and is no longer remotely about what it’s supposed to be about by enticing them with the idea that it’s now the audience’s story. You’re the ones in danger now! You’re the ones who get to fight and defeat Junko! Isn’t that just so fun, you guys???
Which, A, doesn’t even make any sense in the first place and, B, is horrendously bad storytelling to suddenly abandon the characters this story was supposed to be about like they’re irrelevant. But it’s going to work on this audience, because apparently they never really gave a fuck about any of this story’s characters in the first place, even though that’s the exact opposite of how an audience should act!
Maki:  “Is that why… you want the world to fall into despair?”
Maki Roll, don’t fall for it! That’s not what she’s trying to do and she doesn’t care about any of that! Maki has always been the most subsceptible to manipulation, and it seems like that one Flashback Light that brainwashed them into thinking that “despair” is always bad and that they are symbols of “hope” who must always defeat despair is still affecting her in ways she doesn’t realise are manipulation.
Himiko:  “Th-That’s… messed up!”
Himiko also briefly comments on this here like she might be buying this. Shuichi does not. He’s just staying quiet and watching.
“Nekomaru”:  “The outside world wants to see horrible setups and payoffs!”
That should be the case, because those are the kind of things that make a good story. But suddenly yelling about despair taking over the world in a way that makes no sense and is unconnected to any of the setup we’ve had this whole time? Not a payoff for anything. Should not be something the audience wants. They should want actual payoff for the characters they’ve been watching all this time.
“Nagito”:  “What could be more horrible than a fictional despair eroding the real world?”
“Junko”:  “No one could’ve imagined an end this hopeless.”
Yes, look, you guys, this is totally a super awesome plotline she’s come up with and it’s one that lets all of you be the heroes! please keep watching don’t change the channel just because things have gone off-script help
Keebo:  “…No. I won’t give in to despair!”
Tsumugi:  “Huuuh?”
Tsumugi has a gleeful “oh, I’m so surprised!” face here. She is making it quite obvious that Keebo’s reaction is exactly what she was going for. Keebo, no.
Keebo:  “If that’s the voice of the outside world, then the outside world actually wants hope!”
At this point, now that Tsumugi’s veered things around to totally be about the audience’s despair because who even cares about these people who aren’t real, is Keebo even talking about “hope” for Shuichi and the others? Or is this just “hope” for the audience to protect them from the evil despair that’s totally going to be inflicted on them? Almost certainly the latter.
K1-B0 – Ultimate Hope Robot
This is so clearly trying to rip off the ending of DR1. Which the audience is going to lap up because they’re raging genwunners. But this doesn’t work anything like that, because that hope was used to inspire the rest of the characters that the story was actually about. This is very emphatically not going to be that.
“Junko”:  “What is this?”
Keebo:  “This is the power of hope!”
It’s really not. It’s one guy who doesn’t have a clue what’s really going on yelling a bunch of meaningless words.
“Makoto”:  “The final battle between hope and despair!”
It was never a fucking battle! But no, of course it was, that’s definitely always been what those two words are about.
“Nagito”:  “The class trial is in disarray because Monokuma broke a rule…”
Himiko:  “You’re the one who broke the rule…”
Hah, I like that someone calls her out on that. Tsumugi’s still running away from all responsibility, because of course she is.
(“Smiling, putting on a mask, never saying what you really think. That kind of cowardice is just like Monokuma!” Kaito was really talking about the mastermind hiding behind Monokuma rather than Monokuma himself when he said that – and now she’s putting on even more literal masks than ever before.)
“Sayaka”:  “How about we start over and have a special vote?”
Keebo:  “…A special vote? But you’re the one who broke the rules in the first place—”
Keebo is quite right to point out that Tsumugi does not have the right to do any kind of life-or-death vote now that she’s broken the rules and messed everything up. Tsumugi, of course, completely brushes off his protest and does it anyway… and the audience lets her.
Trial 5’s whole premise of “Monokuma can’t do what he likes once he’s provably broken the rules” only works because the audience was supposed to agree that it’s unfair and cry foul, but… it turns out the audience is actually a bunch of mindless idiots who are totally okay with a meaningless vote and meaningless deaths to get them their hope fix. So… Kaito’s attempted best-case outcome in trial 5, which he was going for in the hope of saving his friends’ lives and ending the killing game, would actually have saved no-one and ended nothing anyway??? And what Kaito did achieve – letting Shuichi know that Monokuma can’t get things wrong because of the audience, which is why Shuichi went into this trial to prove Kaede spotless in another attempt to end the killing game – is also meaningless? Kaito faked his death and lied to his friends for a whole trial for nothing?
Out-universe writers, no. Why would you ever think this is okay? How can you just completely undermine the best case of the game like this?
(They’re also clearly not trying to go for a deliberate gut-punch of making Kaito’s efforts pointless, because the narrative isn’t acknowledging this at all. Apparently the in-universe writers are not the only ones who have no idea what they’re doing here.)
“Kazuichi”:  “Let’s just do one last vote!”
Monokuma:  “Cuz that’s what Danganronpa’s all about!”
The fact that DR1 and DR2’s stories happened to work fairly well with a final vote does not mean that it should be taken as a necessary part of a Danganronpa storyline to the point of shoehorning one in even when it doesn’t work.
The final vote in DR2 worked because that wasn’t decided on by Junko and was just a result of the way the world had been programmed. And the final vote in DR1 may have been also forced through by Junko when she didn’t really have the right to do so any more – but she was never entertaining her audience, she was forcing them to watch in order to make a point. Her vote continued that theme, because it was essentially Junko making Makoto stake his life on the belief that his friends would agree with his philosophy of hope (in her attempt to prove that they wouldn’t). Only Makoto’s life was on the line in it, and it was for a reason that was relevant to what had been happening and what he’d been advocating, so it didn’t feel especially unfair, at least not more so than you’d expect Junko to be given she wanted lives to be at stake for everything.
The vote we’re about to be forced into here is almost nothing like that. Oh boy.
Tsumugi:  “Between Keebo and I… Which of us should get punished?”
If that was all, that’d be fairly analogous to the DR1 final vote, and fairly acceptable. Keebo and Tsumugi are (supposedly) having a clash of philosophies, so this would just be them staking their lives on that. If it was only their lives on the line.
Himiko:  “To end in hope…?”
Maki:  “To end in despair…?”
Shuichi:  “We decide…?”
Yeah, why should these three get to decide? I thought this story was suddenly all about the audience now, not them! They’re not even real people, right? Why should they get to determine which out of hope or despair the audience wants to see?
But the vote they’re about to have doesn’t have anything to do with this whole deal of “bringing despair to the outside world” or about which one the audience prefers. Because Tsumugi doesn’t have a goddamn clue what she’s doing with any of this nonsense and might as well have not even done that whole bit in the first place. I hope this is out-universely deliberate at least, but at this point my faith in the out-universe writers is slipping.
Tsumugi explains that the “Despair wins” choice will result in everyone except Keebo continuing to live in the school, technically continuing the killing game but presumably never actually killing each other any more now that they know all the motives will be lies.
Keebo:  “No! That’s no way to live! Imprisoned in this school, living lives of despair—”
How exactly would that be a life of “despair”, Keebo? They’d be stuck there, sure, but at least the three of them would be alive, and they’re friends (minus Tsumugi, who would hopefully fuck off and leave them alone), so they should be able to find some semblance of happiness in it. You’re only saying it’d be “despair” because Tsumugi has arbitrarily slapped that label on it and therefore it must be nothing but bad, because “hope” is always good and “despair” is always evil, right?
“Toko”:  “E-Even if you went outside, there’d be n-no point.”
“Byakuya”:  “As I said, all your memories are nothing but fiction.”
“Imposter Byakuya”:  “Your hometowns, your families, your friends… they never existed in the first place.”
Wow, Tsumugi, you sure are making the option where they get to escape look more despairing than the one where they stay inside here and never have to face any of that stuff.
…Which actually is kind of analogous to the first game in that they’d be going out into a hostile world where they’re going to struggle to find their feet, and they’ll have to hope that they’ll be okay in that world despite everything. If the narrative was going to present it that way and have Keebo encourage them to still try and live in that world even if it’s scary because it’s better than being boringly trapped in here forever, this’d be acceptably similar to DR1. But nope, that’s not remotely what we’re going to be doing here.
Himiko:  “Th-Then at least put us back how we were!”
No, Himiko! Admittedly we didn’t see Himiko’s audition so she didn’t see what she “used to be” like, but the auditions they did see should make it very clear to all of them that the people they “used to be” weren’t them. None of you want to go back to being those people, guys; you should be able to see that! The people that you are now would stop existing if you did that! For all intents and purposes, you’d die!
Tsumugi explains that that’s impossible because Flashback Lights don’t actually retrieve lost memories and can only overwrite existing memories with fake ones. But it being impossible should not be the point anyway. None of them should even want this in the first place.
Shuichi:  “So… we can’t go back to the way we were?”
Shuichi, you saw the person who used to live in your body! You can’t possibly want to be him! You’d forget everything about Kaito and Kaede and become someone who wants to get executed in a killing game!
Apparently Tsumugi’s insistence that they’re all entirely “fake” has got to them so much that, despite all the evidence, they’re just clinging to the idea that “real” has got to be better, and nooooooo, guys, snap out of it!
Buuut it’s the “hope wins” outcome of the vote that’s the really stupid part. Tsumugi is punished and they get to escape, except…
“Taka”:  “However, you must follow the rules! The game will continue until the final two!”
Tsumugi:  “So only two of you can graduate.”
And why, pray tell, the absolute fuck, is this remotely necessary? The only reason that two-person rule exists should be as a minimum, because it’s not possible to hold a class trial with only two people left. If it’s also a strict maximum, then that means that this game is designed to kill fourteen people no matter what, even if there aren’t enough in-game murders for that. The point of this killing game is supposed to be that the participants brought all the deaths upon themselves (even though that’s not really a fair assessment at all when they were manipulated into it). Executing more people anyway even when it’s not prompted by someone becoming blackened in the first place is arbitrarily cruel and not in the spirit of the game at all. This rule should have completely ceased to apply any more, now that we’re in “endgame” mode where clearly nobody is going to commit any more murders. Killing two of them at this point just to adhere to this pointless rule is meaningless as fuck.
Plus, what right does Tsumugi even have any more to insist that they adhere to the rules when she broke them first? Oh, right, because the audience are mindless morons who don’t actually care if she breaks them despite the entire point of trial 5. (Geez, even Kokichi expected better from the audience than this.)
So, the bottom line is that this “hope wins” ending is… two of them get to escape into an outside world that doesn’t even see them as real people, after watching two more of their friends get completely pointlessly and arbitrarily killed. Such hope! Such meaning! Such narrative!
(Okay, they won’t get killed, as we’ll learn later on, but still. It is no less arbitrary.)
Shuichi:  “… We got this far… and you’re telling us to sacrifice more of our friends?”
Shuichi is crying and I don’t blame him. Why? Why should he have to lose even more of his friends for no reason? This isn’t fair! At least Kaede and Kaito’s sacrifices happened because they tried to make a difference, but this would be nothing like that!
“Gundham”:  “However… even if you do escape to the outside world, you will find it most unwelcoming.”
Keebo:  “…No! As long as we never give up, there will always be hope!”
Keebo. Dude. If you were trying to reassure everyone to stay hopeful about things that actually mattered, namely the idea that the outside world wouldn’t welcome them, or the thought of losing more friends, then maybe this would kinda sorta work and be a bit like Makoto was in DR1. But you’re just spouting meaningless platitudes! Stop it!
Keebo:  “If it will bring hope to everyone and the outside world, I will gladly sacrifice myself.”
You dying for completely arbitrary reasons is not going to make your friends hope for anything, Keebo! And you especially shouldn’t give a fuck what the outside world that’s gleefully watched your friends die wants from you!
I don’t hold it against Keebo, because he is genuinely well-meaning and trying to do a good thing here, but he is so, so deluded and misled.
“Makoto”:  “In order for hope to win, there needs to be one more sacrifice.”
That sentence doesn’t make any sense! That’s not hope! In the real Makoto’s story, hope winning didn’t sacrifice anyone except the mastermind! Makoto himself would have called total bullshit on the idea that pointlessly sacrificing his friends would be for the sake of any kind of hope!
“Sonia”:  “Do you understand now? Even if you choose hope, you will still suffer.”
Okay, so, look, I’m not saying that hope doesn’t involve suffering. Remember when I talked about my first-time experience of Kaito’s trial and how the rekindled hope that he might be alive was utterly terrifying? Yeah, hope is scary. But real hope is scary because it’s uncertain, because of the constant possibility that you might not get what you’re hoping for and fall back into despair. Being forced to feel completely arbitrary separate pain that has nothing to do with what you’re hoping for (in this context, they’d be hoping they can fit in in an outside world that doesn’t see them as real people) is not part of the reason that hope itself is difficult and scary and is completely beside the fucking point.
Tsumugi using Sonia here is the beginning of a sequence of her cosplaying almost all of the female characters (plus Chihiro) and having them be all “won’t you stay here with us~? *blush*”. Which is obviously deliberate pandering.
But, like… who is this pandering to? Isn’t she supposed to be persuading Maki, Himiko and Shuichi right now? There’s no evidence that Maki and Himiko are into girls, and while Shuichi apparently is, why should he care about these people that are, to his fake memories, historical figures and nothing more? Why would he be that shallow just because they’re girls? And if this is for the audience, first of all, why, they can’t influence this outside of Keebo’s one vote, and second of all… does she not fucking realise that only about half of her audience is even going to be into girls, and only a proportion of those people should be shallow enough to be swayed by this? Female characters are more than just objects of fanservice and romantic fantasy! There are plenty of people who enjoy this franchise who aren’t here for that, you know! Tsumugi is a girl, she should have more respect for her own goddamn gender than this!
Really, if Tsumugi was properly trying to persuade Shuichi, Maki and Himiko, then the best (cruellest) move would be for her to suddenly start cosplaying Kaede, Tenko and Kaito and being all like “hey, if you stayed here I could be them for you!” (the cospox thing was dumb and there should be no reason she couldn’t do that). Which would of course make all three of them do an immediate huge revolted NOPE, a lot like the time Maki thought Exisal Kaito was Kokichi pretending to be him except worse – but it’d be an impactful moment, at least. Honestly, Tsumugi cosplaying the dead V3 characters here would make this whole part of the trial far more viscerally uncomfortable, like it’s clearly trying to be, than just seeing the DR1 and 2 characters be the face of the villain when they’re not a part of this actual story.
(Man, imagine her doing the part last time where she reminded Shuichi of Kaede and Kaito’s inspiring lines by actually cosplaying them and reciting those lines in their voices, that would be awful, I would hate it and love it at the same time. It’d hammer home the supposed idea that they were always just lies even more.)
Keebo:  “Despair won’t end this killing game! Only hope will!”
Keebo says this just before we get dragged into a Mass Panic Debate in which Keebo’s only available bullet is “Hope”. When the only weapon you have is hope, every problem’s got to be able to be solved with it, right? No, Keebo.
This Mass Panic Debate is the worst and the reason I equipped Librarian’s Glare at the beginning, because then all the loud voices get silenced automatically and all I have to focus on is firing. If you don’t hit every single statement’s worth of “despair” in one round, you have to do it all over again, and a bunch of them have loud voices getting in the way. It’s far, far more mechanically difficult than any other debate in the game, which is not at all deserved on a narrative level when what’s happening right now is such a ridiculous mess.
Story time: when I got to this Mass Panic Debate on my first time through, since I was watching not playing and therefore had a little break to let my thoughts flow without having to pay as much attention to what was happening… I was really upset. I had loved almost everything about this game up to this point, and I really wanted it to have a good ending worthy of the rest of it. But this was currently presenting itself as that ending, and this was just bad.
This is supposedly analogous to the part in DR1 where Makoto fired bullets of hope at all of his friends, and I liked that part. It was refreshing and inspiring after a whole game supposedly all about despair to realise that it was actually about hope as well. But here, first-time-me just felt vaguely insulted at the idea that I was supposed to like this as much as I did that. This is just a cheap imitation of that which completely misses the actual point.
The protagonist is supposed to be meaningfully inspiring his friends to not give up and to face the hostile outside world with the hope that things will work out okay. But this “hope” choice they’re being given here is arbitrarily cruel, and Keebo’s words are not even addressing his friends, let alone any of the actual problems that his friends are despairing over. He’s just shooting the “hope” at Tsumugi’s “despair” like this is some kind of good-versus-evil battle. This is exactly the kind of one-dimensional, meaningless hope the characters were filled with when they saw the Flashback Light in chapter 5 – empty platitudes that don’t even remotely address the actual reason for their despair and therefore don’t fix anything at all. And that reason for their despair right now isn’t just the thought of the outside world but also simply the notion that they’re not real, which was pretty compelling when it came up and first-time-me wanted them to get back to that and address that more and hated the fact that it’d apparently been completely forgotten like it didn’t matter.
Of course, I don’t hate this part nearly as much now, because this isn’t the real endpoint of this trial, and with that in mind, Keebo missing the point like this is very out-universely deliberate. This is showing the “battle between hope and despair” that the outside world apparently craves that is the reason they’ve been watching these killing games for fifty-three seasons. Shuichi is going to figure this out quite soon, and then things will get back on track with the characters we’ve actually grown to care about properly addressing the question of how real they are.
But I’m still not super happy with this. Keebo is so obviously failing at presenting any kind of actual hope or compelling story here that it’s a stretch to believe that a sensible in-universe audience would want this either. Shouldn’t they care about the characters they’ve been watching this whole time and be frustrated, like I was, when the story abruptly veers away from being about them into this empty nonsense? Shouldn’t they be calling bullshit on the arbitrary unfair sacrifices for the vote, especially after Tsumugi broke the rules and had no more right to even punish anyone at all? (That was literally supposed to be the point of trial 5, dammit! Kaito deserves better than this!) Heck, shouldn’t the characters be calling bullshit on the vote rather than accepting it? (I can let them off a bit more though, since they’re still mostly in despair and not quite thinking straight.)
This would work a lot better if it was still trying to be mostly about the characters, and Keebo was actually trying to inspire them with hope. Instead of shooting at Tsumugi’s despair, he should, like Makoto did, be shooting the hope at his friends and trying to reassure them that surely they’ll find a place in the outside world that’ll accept them, that surely whichever two of them survive will be able to overcome these last deaths as well and find happiness somehow. That would be a kind of hope that would be reasonably believable as making a satisfying if bittersweet ending. That way, it’d be a lot easier to believe that the audience wants this, and to therefore realise that this is why the killing game has gone on for so long and will still continue if they let this ending happen here.
The fact that this isn’t what happens when it easily could have been makes me wonder how much of this part’s one-dimensionality was deliberate, and how much is the out-universe writers not actually realising that the situation they’re presenting here isn’t “hope” in any meaningful or compelling way at all. My faith in them on this particular front is not very strong, I must admit.
“Keebo! Keebo!”
“Keebo’s on fire!”
“gooooo Keebo!”
The audience has been there in the background throughout all of this – probably as what Keebo’s hearing in his inner voice – but up until now they’ve just been saying “Hope” or “Despair”. As this debate finishes, they finally start saying something of more substance, most of them cheering Keebo on like so. It sure sounds like they care about him as a character, which is what you’d expect if they’d been experiencing this game through him as the protagonist. But they don’t; we’ll see that very clearly later. They only care about him representing their own voices and nothing else.
“i wanna see the color of shuichi’s blood <3”
Wow, fuck, geez, okay. That “fan” of Shuichi’s from before has gone from “somewhat realistic if rather creepy considering that he’s real” to “absolute sicko”. What the hell.
“Now this is Danganronpa.”
Apparently we really are supposed to believe that this kind of meaninglessness is what people have come to like from this show over the years. It so incredibly shouldn’t be, though. What about all the actual class trials before the endgame? The characters struggling with the pain of watching their friends die or realising that their friend killed someone? Isn’t that more compelling than just yelling about hope being better than despair? Apparently not to these idiots.

IDOLiSH7 Part 1, Ch 1.5 side story
Side Story: Each of Their Thoughts
(other parts in the directory)
Translation under the break.
-
Tsumugi: Thank you all for auditioning. Please wait here. We'll be letting you know the results soon.
Riku: OK.
Riku: ………...
Riku: (.....This audition.... Will I make it? I want to make it in.....)
Riku: (I thought I could only be in the audience, but for the first time, she asked me if I want to be an idol....)
Riku: (I want to pass the audition, become an idol, and get closer to the place Tenn-nii is.)
Sogo: .....Riku-kun, are you alright? Do you want me to get you something to drink?
Riku: Ah..... I'm OK.....
Sogo: Don't worry about it. Everyone, what do you want to drink?
Yamato: I'll go buy drinks with you. What does everyone want?
Mitsuki: If they have a sports drink!
Iori: I'll go with the same.
Tamaki: Some juice.
Nagi: Mineral water, please.
Sogo: No problem. I'll be right back.
-
Yamato: Oh. I'm glad there's a machine right here.
Sogo: Yeah, that's great.
Sogo: ………...
Sogo: (......Riku-kun, even though he's so cheerful, he seemed really worried..... And, he looked really worn out when we were playing basketball....)
Sogo: (.....The audition..... I ran away from my home, so I don't have anywhere to go back to. If I don't pass, I'll lose everything....)
Sogo:
Yamato: You don't seem to be very competitive.
Sogo: What?
Yamato: Here, have some water. It's on me, Sou.
Sogo: Ah......... Thank you.
Yamato: I'm not good at it either, being competitive.
Sogo: Is that why you wanted to drop out of the audition?
Yamato: Ah, I guess so. They all seem like good guys.
Yamato: So I'd rather be the one that gets cut than have any of them cut.
Sogo: Yamato-san....
Yamato: (.....Even if I get in, I'll probably pass on the offer, and let someone else have it.)
Yamato: (I shouldn't have started with such a horrible reason. There are guys out there who are taking their dreams seriously....)
Yamato: (By chance, if I pass, the other members would become involved with my mess. I should end the charade here.)
Yamato: (They seem so great. I would have liked to do something with those guys.....)
-
Mitsuki: Haa........
Mitsuki: I'm going to the bathroom for a sec.
Tamaki: Me too.
Mitsuki: You wanna be bathroom buddies?
Tamaki: No. The results are so slow. I wanna go ask about 'em.
Mitsuki: No way! Just wait a bit!
Tamaki: It's really bothering me.
Mitsuki: We don't want to rush them. Come on, sit back down!
Tamaki: Fine......
Tamaki: Aren't you worried about the results, Mikki?
Mitsuki: I am, I'm super worried. But....... I'm kind of used to it.
Tamaki: Doing auditions? That's awesome. Really cool.
Mitsuki: Is it cool? I've gotten used to it, because I've failed so many of them.
Tamaki: Ah..... I see.
Mitsuki: That's just how it is. I'll be right back.
-
Mitsuki: (I'm used to failing. That doesn't mean I'm used to the shock of failing though......)
Mitsuki: (I've never auditioned for anything that I didn't want to fail.)
Mitsuki: (I can't help but compare my face in the mirror with me singing on the stage like Zero....)
Mitsuki: (My heart is pounding like it's going to break. Hoping for my dream, clenching my fists. God, please. )
Mitsuki: (I want today to be the day my dream comes true.)
-
Tamaki: Mikki......
Tamaki: ………...
Tamaki: (If I can get on TV, Aya could see me.)
Tamaki: (If she sees me, she will call me.)
Tamaki: (I want to be on TV. I don't care how I do it. Even if I have to do something uncool, even if it is hard to do, I have to.)
Tamaki: (I have to find her......)
Tamaki: (I miss you, Aya.)
Iori: ...........
Iori: (.......This isn't what he promised at all! He was pretending to be a good guy, but he's just a disrespectful and opportunistic old guy....!!)
Iori: (Just try to cut Nii-san like this. I'm going to file a thorough claim, ruin your reputation, and make sure to drive your business into the ground!)
Iori: (.....And, here I thought I was finally some use to Nii-san.) Iori: If you were going to betray me from the start, don't give me false hope.)
Iori: (Do you even know how much Nii-san has been suffering?)
Riku: .....Are you alright?
Iori: ............ What is it? I'm not nervous. If you're just looking for someone to talk to, then look elsewhere.
Riku: That's not what I mean. You're making a really scary face.
Iori: ………...
Riku: Iori, you and your brother are both shooting for the same thing.
Iori: Is there something wrong with that? Riku: No, there's nothing wrong with it! Geez! What's wrong is your mouth! You're really unreasonable!
Iori: ......I'm sorry.
Riku: ..... I just thought it was nice...... You and Mitsuki have the same dream together....
Riku: And you seem so close.... I thought it looked like it would be fun for brothers to be working together.
Riku: Haha. I was even a little jealous.
Iori: ………...
(Door opens)
Sogo: We're back. Yamato-san bought the drinks.
Yamato: It's no biggie. You don't have to tell everyone. I just bought some juice.
Tamaki: Yay!
Riku: Thank you!
Yamato: Here you go. Um, who was the mineral water....
Nagi: Thanks. That would be me.
Yamato: Whoa, don't get so close like that. You'll give me a heart attack, your face is too pretty.
Sogo: I totally get that..... You're really beautiful, Nagi-kun. Like nothing I've ever seen, even on TV or in movies....
Nagi: …………
Nagi: You're all very interesting (funny).
Sogo: Our faces?
Yamato: Our faces, right? For a good-looking guy like you, our faces must be pretty funny-looking.
Nagi: No, no! Everyone here is very beautiful.
Nagi: (....They're all marvelous people.)
Nagi: (In the audition, even though I am their enemy, with my unparalleled beauty that could shattered any man's ego.....)
Nagi: (None of them are giving me harsh sarcasm or envy.)
Nagi: (But, it's not like they are just trying to butter me up either. Maybe they aren't depending on others for validation, but they're trying to fight their own fights with their own strengths.)
Nagi: (How interesting. Actually, very interesting. Haruki, I really want to see them singing the songs you wrote.)
Nagi: (I wonder how far they can go. Will they become like Zero, like the man Haruki loved?)
Tsumugi: .........ahem, I'm sorry to have kept you all waiting! I have the audition results!
Riku: Ah......... Manager......
Mitsuki: ....... I'm ready for it! Just hit me with it!
Tamaki: Did I pass?
Yamato: Tama, you're too much.
Sogo: Three people are being chosen, right? Iori: Go ahead. Please tell us. After the results, I would like to have some words with the president.
Nagi: Please, my girl.
Tsumugi: OK, I will tell you!
Tsumugi: The results of our rigorous review! The ones who passed the audition are....

Trial 6 - My Will, Our Will (7)
Tumblr media
A new challenger has appeared!
Trial: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6
Tumblr media
Being on the other side of Shuichi’s glare and pointer finger is terrifying and now I’m understanding why all the culprits and others start freaking out so much. 8′D
Also, ooooh there it is, oh there’s Clair de Lune, i’mnotcryingyou’recrying
Tumblr media
WE’RE REALLY DOING CLAIR DE LUNE THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH AREN’T WE
OH NO
Tumblr media
A hope that requires two of their classmates to die... that’s the definition of ‘hope’ that was forced on them. K1-b0 is happy as long as he’s opposing despair - but Shuichi isn’t. I.... I think I understand what he’s saying.
Tumblr media
“S-Seriously Shuichi, I really don’t get a chance to be cool very often and you’re really stealing my thunder -”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You, uh, remember that my name is pronounced ‘Kii-bo’ too, right - ?”
“YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID!”
Tumblr media
The music is continuing?!?! We’re using Clair de Lune the whole way through?? Man this is making even more of an impact than them playing the opening music - because there’s no triumph to be found here.
Tumblr media
He seems so betrayed! S-Sweetcheeks, we really need to finish his last FTE when this is all over!
Tumblr media
Oh..... oh....... oooooooh -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shuichi why would you say something so controversial yet so brave -
Tumblr media
“SEE!!! I CAN DO THIS TOO SHUICHI!!!”
mmm also look at my sweet v-counter skills guys -
Tumblr media
It’s not some great overwhelming force of nature, or some grand enemy to be conquered, something that can be easily shoved into a defining box! It’s a feeling, like anything else! And sure, despair is considered ‘the dark side’, but are we just going to let them also define hope for us?
........
also. ALSO.
THESE COMMENTS. THESE COMMENTS. I-I can’t stop collecting them -
No, that’s wrong!
What are you saying, hat boy? i might steal ‘hat boy’ that’s really good
Can’t say anything now, scrub
He’s not wearing a hat anymore. THE COMMENTER CORRECTED THE OTHER ONE GFGH
What if Shuichi is the mastermind? girl where have you been for the last hour -
I wonder who’s going to live.
Hope always comes in waves.
You’re slipping up, detective.
hurry up and vote
Show me hope.
There’s hope because there’s despair.
Suck it, hope
Keebo’s not gonna lose!
Keebo is hope...
and hope lives on!
Shuichi is the cycle of despair?
Things are getting interesting.
The fight’s just started!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The endorphin rush they get when, despite all odds, the good guys win over the bad guys, reaffirming that ‘good’ always overcomes ‘evil’....
Tumblr media
Or worse yet, they revel in it, because to paraphrase a certain someone, ‘they’ll use these tragedies to shine even brighter.’ Watching someone rise above adversity and come out the other side even stronger is inspiring. For the same reason that we enjoy playing the games and cheering the survivors on when Junko or whoever is ultimately defeated in the end, this audience eats up every round of the killing game. They can enjoy that with the privilege granted by being able to observe it from the outside, just like us. But strip that layer away, and -
Tumblr media
I’m sorry, excuse me?
Tumblr media
YEAH SHUICHI IS ON A ROLL HERE DON’T STOP HIM NOW
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What’s with that look, Tsumugi? Is it because Shuichi wasn’t actually supposed to fight for despair? Or was the idea that he would be cheered on/convinced by K1-b0, the same way that Naegi convinced the others in the first game?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Th.... The music..... stopped....
Tumblr media
LAZY PARALLEL WORLD!!!
oh man maybe Tsumugi can hear the music cues. Maybe she realizes Shuichi is onto something. now I’m imagining every time the music shifts Tsumugi’s the only one aware of it, and she’s also the only one reacting appropriately to it ffhg
Also, I assumed that the punishment was execution... but was... was that the mental trap???
Tumblr media
Why wouldn’t there be?! They’re being ‘sacrificed’, aren’t they?!?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything would make sense -
Tumblr media
Oooh! Ooh - ! Is - is that what it is, then?!
Jeez, it’s super interesting to be in K1-b0′s POV for this - especially with Shuichi being the one asking us questions. Being in his POV before meant he never had the opportunity to really use leading questions like this, which really lends him an unexpected air of authority. Unexpected but earned, mind you...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HE’S DIRECTING QUESTIONS AT THE AUDIENCE NOW TOO?!?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You continue the cycle....
Oh, poor, poor Rantaro -
Tumblr media
Did he have the same options laid out for him? Or did he know that he would be choosing to repeat the game? He still had the determination to end the killing game.. so was that left over from his last game’s iteration? How many times has he repeated it? For that matter, how long has he been in holding while they gathered new people??? I swear that one commenter said they had waited 3 years, so???? Rantaro how old are you??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Was there only one person made into a sacrifice, or two like last game? .... side-eyes K1-b0 and Tsumugi -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does... that mean Tsumugi was the mastermind last game too, or....
Also Maki as the Ultimate Survivor would absolutely tear things up. They’d have to pull another stunt like they did with Rantaro if they wanted her out of the game. She definitely has the fitness and demeanour to survive, unless she snaps on someone like she did on Kokichi in Chapter 5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just like Kokichi did, Shuichi is going to try and attack the game itself. His name really hasn’t come up since the motive video reveal, but I’d like to think that this strategy was inspired by his Chapter 5 plan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What an interesting set of characters to represent despair winning. First we have Izuru, being all disdainful of their choice and mocking him with the word ‘boring’ - very much his thing, but also reminiscent of Kokichi. In fact, I suppose the despair option is very similar to the stalemate situation Kokichi installed when he was pretending to be the mastermind!
Tumblr media
Then Celestia. She’s not a people-pleasing person. So why her? Thinking back, she was one of the most desperate to escape, despite hiding it... so maybe this is Tsumugi ‘showing’, not telling, that she isn’t happy with them choosing the despair option?
Tumblr media
And then the hope fanboy... basically telling them that despair is the inferior option, but couching it in positive language. Passive-aggressively pushing them towards the actual answer (s)he wants - very on point for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is it really okay to pass the buck like that?
Tumblr media
In perpetuity...
Tumblr media
I..... I don’t have an answer for that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It does... sort of suck that he’s singling out those two in his speech, because it can feel like he’s being dismissive of everyone else - but I don’t think that’s true. He definitely appreciates the losses of everyone else, but those two were the ones that hit him hardest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
of course it’s bloody Komaeda over there having the time of his life during this speech
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all - how strange is it that there are only a few people who look like they aren’t in excruciating pain right now. Rantaro’s face can’t be seen, Angie, Ryoma and Tenko look like they’re sleeping, and Kaito is smiling....
And - ah, Kokichi can’t even be seen. But there ‘he’ is, with his own section in this collage - I guess that third ‘body discovery’ we had in chapter 3 was the closest we would ever get to something real, huh? Poor guy...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You said I’d be fighting the entire world, Tsumugi? Fine by me! Meet me behind the school after the trial!”
Tumblr media
“S-Shuichi that’s a lot of people -”
“AND I’M GOING TO FIGHT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!!”
Tumblr media
That’s... true. There is a mental barrier that is hard to cross, especially if they’ve all conditioned themselves to accept real people dying for their own entertainment.
Also there are new comments, which means I am obligated to transcribe them.  Most of them is the audience turning on Shuichi, damn. Okay, here it goes:
Forget about Shuichi
You’re in despair, right?
show me the despair ending
it’s okay to feel despair sometimes... THANK YOU ANON COMMENTER
Why have we been doing this...?
Hope doesn’t turn back!
The big reveal, at last
And it was just getting interesting.
We’re the mastermind.
Are they blaming us?
hurry up and refute it
C’mon, Keebo! Attack!
Force hope through.
something’s different right?
C’mon Keebo!
No, that’s wrong!
No, that’s wrong!
What’s going to happen?
mmm... Shuichi’s eyes ^q^ SWEETCHI97 STRIKES AGAIN
What are you saying, detective?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh!!! Oh shit!!! Shuichi you brilliant bastard!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Thank god - I mean, let’s be honest, we all knew this was coming - uh, I mean -”
Actually though, how depressing. So many times we’ve talked about ‘reasons to live’, and later on, reasons to die, and lo and behold here we are, at the end of everything...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shuichi’s learned from the best, Kokichi Ouma - sometimes, death is just a means to an end, and that end is usually flipping someone off.
Random thought - isn’t it interesting that Shuichi is the ‘lone man against everyone’ while Tsumugi, the final boss, is the one ‘acting on behalf of everyone’? When Naegi was trying to rally everyone on his side, they had known at that point that people had been fighting and dying to rescue them. For Hajime and the others, they had the defected Future Foundation members who had risked their own safety to come in and rescue them, and even had Nanami reach out to him. Shuichi, though... Shuichi came to this conclusion on his own, with everyone either against him or swept up in the narrative.
He told Kokichi at the end of Chapter 4 that ‘he was alone, and always would be’. But maybe... that’s not such a bad thing. Maybe Shuichi needed to be alone to have that clarity of thought, and to come up with a way to ‘end everything’. Anyway, it’s just an unexpected parallel I thought of - m-maybe I’m just inserting endgame Kokichi and Kaito thoughts here because the game didn’t. Whoops
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I AM LIVING FOR THE TOTAL REJECTION OF THE ‘HOPE’ AND ‘DESPAIR’ THEME
TAKE THAT!!!!
Tumblr media
It’s not your own will. 8c
Tumblr media
Can you fight it? Do you have the ability to fight it? The strength of will?
Tumblr media
I love Monokuma’s priorities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OH WE HAVEN’T HAD A DEBATE IN A WHILE
omg we only have hope as a bullet
And all the noise says hope
Also Shuichi is dominating it too, holy shit! This strength in his voice is super inspiring!
Tumblr media
thank you for bringing back angry Hanamura it’s still one of my favourite things from the second game
Tumblr media
Ohoho I see what you did there with that line ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i’m sorry I was just curious about the fluff text
Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHARACTER GROWTH
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT
K1-B0 LEARNED TO LIE!!!! I NEVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“That’s redundant btw - I can read the comments just like the rest of you, and they literally are not shutting up about how much they want hope to win.”
speaking of which
What are you doing, Keebo?
Don’t give up hope!
Hope! Hope! Hope!
Please side with hope.
1 vote for hope!
I bet the mastermind is shocked. lol
Hurry up and show me hope.
HOPE!
COME BACK HOOOPE
Hope counter!
show us maki roll! oh hey she has fans too!
it’s unanimous hope.
Hope hasn’t lost yet.
Defeat despair!
cmon it’s hope again! right?
I’m routing for despair so *shrugs*
I got 10 bucks riding on hope. that’s it? weak
I’m on the side of hope, so...
I wanna break Shuichi’s fingers <3 SWEETCHI97 WHO HURT YOU
Huh? It’s hope?
So... So wow, even most of the people talking about wanting despair really did want the hope ending in the end. Shuichi read them like open books.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HE CAN! HE CAN DEFY THE AUDIENCE!!!! I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU K1-B0!!!!
This - this is why you’re the Ultimate Robot. Forget the upgrades - the ability to learn, grow, adapt and choose your own path is another part of your strength!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WE.... WE’RE LOSING HIS POV..... We’re losing his POV?!?!
Tumblr media
Yeah??? You wanna expand on that???
T-Though I mean, they said they’re happy to let themselves die via no vote so exactly what can they do anyway? At the end of the day, they’re viewers, right? Relegated to an observational role. Powerful and untouchable.... but in turn, that separation of realities means what’s left of the class can’t be hurt by them, either.
Tumblr media
Tsumugi he literally said he’s fine with dying. Exactly what can you threaten him with here???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How is it that after all of this, Shuichi is still unable to fight for himself? Maybe I should amend what I said before - he is fighting for other people. They just... well, they don’t know it yet. He’s fighting to prevent future victims, and he’s trading his own life to protect them. I guess in a sense he is fighting something ‘greater than himself’ like Naegi did, but even he had ‘hope that he and his friends would survive with a happy ending’. This is... completely the opposite of that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
GOODBYE DANGANRONPA INDEED, DAMN
And we’re back in his POV!
Tumblr media
Oh man she is not happy about this. Not at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey? Hey Shuichi? What - what the fuck does that mean? You were going to end it all right then? Mid-trial? Excuse me what the hell did you take poison with you to the trial or something -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh - oh. I just realized. This... This was bloody foreshadowed, way back in Chapter 1 with the escape tunnel. With Kokichi’s speech to Kaede, about how she technically had the moral high ground when she was doing all the classic ‘we can’t give up here!’ encouragement, we got to see firsthand hope being weaponized against us. It was right there.
Tumblr media
Of course they have Naegi pleading for hope here
Tumblr media
He’s just talking over her omfg
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You trivialized their lives in the first place and now they’re supposed to consider them sacred?!
Tumblr media
It’s literally the only thing that still wholly belongs to them, so what other choice do they have???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait what is happening -
Tumblr media
I’M HIMIKO NOW??!?!?
i can’t believe she was a slytherin this whole time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m quietly relieved that she doesn’t ‘nyeh’ in her internal monologue
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE DARKEST EVIDENCE BULLET FOR ENDGAME DEAR LORD
this might be worse than nihilism - at least you weren’t able to use that
Tumblr media
How interesting to have him fighting us (along with Sakura and Peko for that matter, the former who literally threw away her life for her classmates and the latter who treated her life as a tool for Fuyuhiko). This was his philosophy and motive of his trial, but he also chose to be the killer and used his life as a means to save the rest of his class, right? Tsumugi, what are you trying to pull here?
Though I guess the whole point was that they were all trying to help the others survive, and Shuichi is getting the whole class to kamikaze themselves so...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damn, she didn’t take much convincing at all. It’s nice that she’s repping both Tenko and Angie here. 8′)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FUCK YEAH WE NAILED THIS HIMIKO! We work well together, who knew!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Himiko is so well-spoken here. And to think that she was the first to follow in Shuichi’s footsteps - I really thought it would be Maki. Good on you, Himiko.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lmao that segway - Alright, now it’s Maki time, right?
also Tsumugi why would you phrase it in a way to piss off Maki like damn seriously??
Tumblr media
“No seriously why would you just call me out like that.”
Tumblr media
........................
okay she has a point actually
Tumblr media
Never forget that we are in a class trial where almost all of the survivors are introverts who prefer their emotions on the inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
!!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DFJGDSKFL SHUICHI ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her... internal dialogue is so interesting and immediately comes off as different from Shuichi’s, Himiko’s and K1-b0′s. It seems... angrier, maybe. Is that it? Or maybe it’s all the red lines that makes it seem that way...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This whole line of her entire self being at the whim of someone else’s writing seems to be targeted at her more-so than the others because she’s already struggled with the idea that she’s had no choices in her life, and that she’s always been a weapon to be used by others. Actually, that’s probably why this hits so hard - she thought she was developing feelings on her own and making a choice to fight to defend him, and the idea of even that being taken away from her...
Tumblr media
“I have love, but more importantly SPITE ON MY SIDE!!!”
Tumblr media
AND ANOTHER ONE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hsdfjgh no don’t pan over the Kaito portrait w h y my heart

As an aside, I don’t know why Hagakure repeatedly showing up is so funny to me - I swear he’s been used more than the others? I-Is he secretly Tsumugi’s favourite character? is it because he’s also older than everyone else and she finds that thought comforting -

Analysis/Prediction for Danganronpa: Deadication
Hey guys! I know I barely post on tumblr at all but I just thought... I have something to talk about... That's incredibly long... And about Danganronpa...
So where else to go than tumblr?
I recently started following a fangan ( @dangandeadication ) called Danganronpa: Deadication. If I had to pick a reason why I liked it so much, it would have to be the character design and art. Their Discord community is pretty great and involved as well. I'm a busy boy so I can't be as active there as I'd like...
You can check out part one of the prologue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5krOHv_ls4
Anyways - what is this post about?
It's about my predictions for this Killing Game. I'm not one to simply pick randomly who lives and who dies, there's a method to my madness. I have this fancy shmancy way of making predictions for Danganronpa, and it's called the Elevator Prediction! We simply take a look at the picture of the students in the elevator before the first trial, and we cross off people based on their position. Any sane artist wouldn't group all the survivors next to each other, now... Would they?...
Wait... Deadication doesn't have one of these yet...
Oh, well. I'll just use my detective instincts to place these characters based on their talent, personality, and official Danganronpa games.
A few disclaimers before we begin:
There will be spoilers for DR1, SDR2, and DRV3
I'm explaining my thought pattern here along with each character and why I predicted what I did. I apologize if I sound overly critical - that's not my intention. I had fun thinking of these predictions and I'm looking forward to seeing how they pan out!
There's one more thing that I'd like to explain as well, and it will help contextualize some of my choices.
One of my favorite writers, Brandon Sanderson, writes some great books involving magic. I bring this up because a few ultimates here (Lucky Student, Psychic, Illusionist, Alchemist) are explicitly "magical". The extent of their abilities is unknown for the most part. Being a writer, Brandon Sanderson created rules about writing magic stories, and being a writer myself, I really took this one to heart. (reference: https://brandonsanderson.com/sandersons-first-law/)
"An author’s ability to solve conflict with magic is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to how well the reader understands said magic."
What does this mean? Basically - if the magic isn't explained - it feels like magic can solve any problem at any point without warning. There's no mystery to it at all - it just happens. Explaining magic systems is a really great way to actually add to a mystery - it gives the reader rules to follow when the theories start forming in their head. Now go replace the word MAGIC with ULTIMATE... And this creates a framework for working with ultimates in mysteries. It’s so much harder for readers to solve mysteries if it isn’t what can and cannot be done in the universe.
An example of this is Tsumugi's Cospox in DRV3. Her ability was cosplay, and with it, she could basically disguise herself as any character. It was inevitable that a murder would happen with her disguised as someone else, and there was no telling when, or how... Except that they immediately explained the extent of her powers in Chapter 1 after the first killing. This took that possibility off the table - and made all the future cases that much easier by focusing our minds on what was actually relevant instead of some gotcha that wasn't explained.
Again - this is only a guideline - it's not a hard-and-fast rule that everyone has to follow - so my predictions could be off because of this. It's all guesswork anyways, and I'm sure at least half my predictions, if not all of them, will be wrong. But that's the point, isn't it? XD
Without further ado, let's get started!
Yuuma - lucky student  Ok... He's lucky so he can't die right? We don't know how lucky he is, but if we base it off the first two games, then yes, he'd basically be unkillable. There are a couple ultimates here that could get around that... But that would be weird because those ultimates are magical and it seems that Danganronpa Luck is too big a barrier... Keep in mind we've had a survivor Lucky Student and a victim Lucky Student, so what's left? Verdict - CH1 blackened
Shu - bounty hunter Here's another babyface that basically screams "Don't fuck with me!". Considering the case of Fuyuhiko I'm not pinning him as someone who has a change of heart, and considering his profession I think he's not going to be a blackened. I think that would be too obvious. So what does that leave us with? A victim. Also I'm offing him in chapter 1 because if he's not killed early then he will be a suspect in every subsequent case. Which might be a good thing, but I wouldn't want to deal with that :P  But who could possibly kill someone trained to kill... Hmmm... Verdict - CH1 victim, failed attempt to kill Yuuma
Toru - filmmaker Everyone's always comparing him to the Actor and saying that there's some important story element here since their ultimates are so similar. I can't help but think the same. I don't think this dude is the Mastermind, since that would be too obvious in my eyes, however I feel he's involved in some way. If Deadication pulls the same thing that DRV3 did with Rantaro, then they can have some backstory for this guy while also having him dead, all while throwing the suspicion off him as being involved in this game due to him dying early. Verdict - CH2 Victim
Otoha - basketball Literally Akane and Tenko. One of them died and the other survived. Maybe she's a blackened? I don't have much else to say here honestly. I guess she's cute. Verdict - CH2 blackened
Kyusho - detective Alright this is such a clear reference to Kyoko that there might be something actually relevant here - maybe this is an AU where Aoi and Kyoko mashed their names together and adopted him? Maybe the real Danganronpa is going to be mentioned in this game? I doubt both these points but they're good to bring up. So we haven't seen an evil detective yet from the other games so I'm getting that vibe from him. Especially one that doesn't explicitly commit murder... Verdict - CH2 accomplice, CH3 victim
Ayuna - psychic Ok so Psychic means either two things (1) she's a complete airhead OR (2) she's a complete airhead but also Hagakure. Considering my stance on magic powers as explained earlier, I think her powers are going to be meaningless. Maybe she sees a vision that ends up getting her killed? Verdict - CH3 Victim
Sakumi - alchemist Alchemy means either two things (1) she's another complete airhead OR (2) there will be some poison case in this game. I'm honestly feeling the latter. Alchemy is another vague ultimate that has to be explained - and I can only see this being relevant to poisoning. There hasn't been a poison double murder yet and I'm assuming that Deadication will be keeping the same format of double murder since it's classic. But I could be 100% wrong since I'm a sucker for strict guidelines. PS: She's also cute. Verdict - CH3 blackened
Reika - ??? Hmmm I wonder what it could beeee... With this illusionist/alchemist/psychic/occultist quadrafecta I'm thinking she's along a similar vibe, maybe witch or something. We haven't had a ??? blackened yet... thinking-face-intensifies... I'm thinking their ability will be revealed as the cornerstone to this case. Verdict - CH4 blackened
Minoru - barista  Ace Attorney - Godot's theme plays in the background Wait what slot didn't I assign... Oh yeah that's right Verdict - CH4 victim
Iori - gardener I have no idea. He has a Kokichi Ouma face sprite but he's also very knowledgeable about plants. He's probably gonna be a Gonta type - a Hope Boy. Verdict - Survivor
Megumi - attorney Franziska Von Karma was best girl in Ace Attorney, and now Megumi is giving me that same vibe. Now here's someone who can talk her way in a trial... As I'm pinning Kyusho as chaotic, maybe Megumi will be the voice of reason throughout the game... Although I really am suspicious of everyone. There's always a survivor with a head on their shoulders (Kirigiri, Shuichi, Hajime) Verdict - Survivor
Haru - occultist I totally feel that Haru is going to play a big part in this, and have some sort of change-of-heart that makes them a better overall person. They're also cute as well so I can't just kill them off. If at any point in the story Naohiko dies, I fully expect Haru to take his place. They're the most main-character-like out of everyone else. They'd probably take the Byakuya or Fuyuhiko slot in the survivor list. Verdict - Survivor
Keiji - surgeon Come on now you wouldn't make such a large meme NOT a survivor... I feel he's going to be very much like the survivors Kazuichi or Hagakure or Himiko - thinks he's tough shit but he really can't do a darn thing. Verdict - Survivor
Luna - arctic explorer Um I don't have much to say about her except I like her and she's super cute and I want her to survive. She's the waifu survivor like Aoi and Sonia and Maki. She's also smart as well so her surviving would actually make sense. Verdict - Survivor
Ok guys! That's it! We're done with all the predictions for Dead-
WAIT! WHAT IS IT? I'M FORGETTING ABOUT TWO CHARACTERS?
Oh yeah you're right. Whoops.
Hitomi - illusionist Ah yes, the detective's sidekick, just like Kaito and Chiaki and Sayaka. She's overly optimistic, which makes me think she's evil, but there are two reasons why I don't think she is (1) I can't possibly envision any angry or distressed Hitomi sprites AND (2) With an ultimate like Illusionist, it would be too obvious that she's a killer. Based on the principles of magic as I explained earlier, her illusion abilities should come with some set of rules. And these rules weren't explained to us in the prologue - so I'm sort of throwing her ultimate to the curb for now and ignoring its effect on the story. Which is probably wrong, but ah, what the heck. I have a bigger prediction for Hitomi based on her relationship with Naohiko as opposed to her ultimate. Verdict - CH5 victim.
Naohiko - actor The man of the hour himself, the green haired protagonist. Before we begin - let's go over what happens to the protagonists in the first three games: Makoto - survives. Hajime - survives but his past self is the mastermind Kaede - is a blackened and dies in chapter 1 Considering Kaede's case - I'm doubting that there is a protagonist switch at all in this game. I'm pretty sure that they switched during Chapter 1 because of the Hope Fragments and the character development and attachment. As much as I loved Kaede, there wasn't a real reason to have her die in a later chapter. It just wasn't a good game design choice. Now Deadication isn't a game so this might be different but I'm tossing this aside for now. There's also the possibility of Naohiko dying, but I don't think he'd be the one to die in chapter 1. The main character actually has a relevant ultimate this time - actor. One that can be used as a blackened... and a mastermind... dun dun DUN... Technically this is different from SDR2 since Izuru is his own original character and not Hajime Hinata. What I'm going to propose is slightly similar to Hajime's case but it's different in the fact that Izuru had absolutely no effect on the Killing Game other than starting it. One more thing before I explain what I think will happen to Naohiko - let's take a look at the other masterminds' goals: Junko - Inflict Despair on everyone watching Izuru - Preserve Junko and the Remnants of Despair Tsumugi - Entertain everyone watching Now there's one thing that I think is clearly missing here... And that's a personal motive, one that isn't based on world domination or entertainment. Especially because this is a fangan that doesn't explicitly have to be tied to the main series - and it's getting increasingly difficult to do so anyways. So let's recap - A personal motive that isn't based on the Hope-Despair conflict, yet also requires Despair to work properly. This one really wracked my brain but here's my theory:  Naohiko is a schizophrenic just like Toko is. However, he does not know that he has this other, "evil" side to him. There are a few reasons for this: (1) If he noticed it, he would clearly get it treated. Which spelled doom for this evil persona. (2) He's the ultimate actor. Actors retake scenes often enough and they have so many fans that it's typical if he forgets something. This evil side - let's call it Hikonao because I'm boring - has been waiting for its chance to overtake the real Naohiko - and this killing game is just that. Bring Naohiko to Despair, and then his real side and his evil side will be one and the same. So Hikonao sends a letter to Toru stating something about working with Naohiko - only if he brings 14 other ultimates to this secluded area. The letter is signed H - which implicitly brings suspicion on other characters like Haru and Hitomi. Hikonao can be doing things at nighttime or during the day that Naohiko wouldn't remember - and that could clue the reader in to what is happening... (and it also could get us to suspect Hitomi's illusions instead...) Hikonao's plan is to bring the largest possible Despair onto Naohiko - and that would climax in killing his own beloved, Hitomi. In the chapter 5 trial, Naohiko realizes that he is the one that killed Hitomi - and we have to explicitly argue that he didn't kill her, knowing this - something that hasn't been done before in a game, even with Kaede. And then, just like in game 1, Naohiko isn't actually executed due to some ambiguous reason. And then they find the letter from H, find some more stuff, and the mastermind trial. This also brings up an important point - just like the Gonta case in DRV3. If someone else's consciousness kills someone, are you guilty? I have a feeling that Naohiko will end up expelling Hikonao and everything will end happily ever after... Verdict - CH5 blackened and mastermind. Oh and he's also a survivor too
Now I know that you guys think this is a crazy crackpot theory but it's based on writing principles! Even if I'm entirely wrong, I have become a better mystery writer because of it! The more you think about these things, the more you dive deep into how these games are put together and the best way to order and position the story and killings so that things make sense together.
To those of you who have read the entire thing, thank you so so much! I appreciate it, especially since I rambled at times. I'm really looking forward to this project and I know everyone will do a great job with Deadication!
That's it for now. Team Mike, signing off!

Most disliked arc (chapter)? Why?
The saltiest cracker you know is me, Bepsi!10. Most disliked arc (in this case, chapter)? Why?
I bet you saw this shit comin a mile away huh?
Chapter 2.
Now, it might surprise you, but Hoshi dying isn’t even the worst part of the chapter for me. That’s more emotionally gut punching me and my hopes and dreams that joke characters can live past chapter 3. Actually, Hoshi is without a doubt the BEST part of Chapter 2 even with his death, just because of how amazingly he’s written.
Sadly, even Hoshi cannot save this chapter from showing just how RUSHED and UNPOLISHED it is. Because holy jeEZ THERE’S A LOT WRONG (albeit it’s personal opinion for the most part). So while you may know them, or may learn something new from my opinion, that’s all cool! Under the cut as Chapter 2 is dissected and torn into to learn why it is sadly, my least fav of V3.
- RUSHED.
Now, this is really easy to see, and I’m sure many others have noticed it as well, but it bears a lot of repeating because it’s a problem. Chapter 2 was rushed to high heavens, in the sense that it mainly serves to push the plot along and nothing more. Things happen too quickly in the story at that point, and while the rest of the game is better off for it, this is the ONLY chapter that REALLY does it so blatantly, and it feels very choking as a result of it.- Tenko’s attachment to Himiko needed to happen, absolutely, but I feel like more should have been done in Chapter 1 to show Tenko trying to talk to her more? Maybe, “OOO maybe himiko wants to be my friend??” and more interactions that show that Tenko isn’t just attaching herself to Himiko b/c she’s “the creepy gay” character. - Toujou becoming the fucking supermaid. This one is the most obvious, but mmm. Everyone relying on her suddenly feels super forced, as characters like Shinguuji and Hoshi and even Maki herself, all ask Toujou to do something for them. It feels out of character for them, and the fact that THAT interaction is the MOST she gets in Chapter 2 before the trial is fucking trash and I’ll explain why in a later point, but you can just TELL that they needed SOMETHING to give her ANY story relevance, and it hurts her character a LOT. - Kaito suddenly wanting to help Maki’s super fucking weird. Maybe if it showed Kaito like “sorry Shuichi maybe later, I wanna try talking to Maki” more in this Chapter to really see that he wants to help her, or even just him going more like “hey Shuichi wanna include Maki in our training? I feel like she could use it.” or ANYTHING that mentions Kaito reaching out to Maki more. Because as it is now, it feels like he’s suddenly placing an all or nothing bet and it makes him, p unlikable at that point b/c Shuichi just goes with it for seemingly no reason because “yeah I guess i gotta progress the plot”. - Those are the main points. Maki is done surprisingly well, actually, she’s really good here. Being sus like that and actually not letting you do FTE’s was cool, and i liked it a lot. Angie’s slow buildup was also pretty good as well, but I think they coulda put Tsumugi in w/ Himiko at some point so it’s not ‘suddenly everyone’s brainwashed!’ in chapter 3, as a slower buildup would do it good! Or at least, more buildup, I should say.
- CLUNKY.
This one is a bit harder to explain, and it goes in hand with the pacing issue, but lemme try. Some of the events and dialogue in Chapter 2 just feel, really clunky? Like, Shuichi’s an emotional guy and I totally understand that, but I don’t think he’d just spill his feelings to the guy that punched him for showing weakness not even 2 days ago? I dunno, maybe it’s just me. It feels like a lot of Chapter 2 was glued into the story as requirements rather than actually to tell a story. It comes in a lot of ways, as previously mentioned a lot of relationships are just ‘suddenly there’ rather than actually built up, IE Kaito and Maki, Tenko and Himiko, etc... and it makes the entire Chapter feel like it’s meshed together with ideas that Kodaka REALLY wanted to be in the game or knew would happen later on, but just couldn’t fit them in, so he shoved them in an early chapter and hoped for the best.
- TOUJOU’S ABILITY TO DO JACK DIDDLY SHIT IN TERMS OF STORY.
Somehow, they managed to make one of the stars of this chapter barely active in it. Can you fucking believe that? Like, no really, if you work off of fan translations I want you to open the translation you have, hit CONTROL+F and search for Toujou and see like, the 30 lines she has before the trial. It’s so MINIMAL, it’s so BASIC, and in those 30 sentences she’s treated like a PLOT DEVICE rather than a CHARACTER. I’m sure a bit of the reason as to why Toujou isn’t as popular as most of the other girls is just how hard the Chapter hits her in terms of not giving her any character development (even in the bonus interaction she’s just “i do this for my job” for fucc sake). Like, even if it was played for a laugh that she’s just so constantly work-focused, or the writing took it as a bit of a punchline for some dry humor (”hey toujou what’re ya doin?” “working.” and just have awkward eye contact and the ‘WOW this is awkward’ thought in Shuichi’s head after a few “...” between the both of them as it happens. easy comedy. see???) it at least would make her seem somewhat important compared to the cast. Honestly, it’s like the Tsumugi Effect but in 2 chapters instead of 6. By doing nothing in terms of plot, she basically puts on this huge fucking sign that says “HEY GUYS IM NOT STORY RELEVANT BECAUSE NOTHING IS HAPPENING TO ME SO I WILL PROBABLY DIE AS A KILLER OR VICTIM” Her trial behavior is really hit or miss as well, because some might find her ruthlessness to be really cool and makes her actually fucking interesting at any point in the story, while others might find it unlikable, excessively cruel, or just out of character for Toujou no matter how desperate she may be. Let alone that her US demographic prolly tanked quite a lot w/ her story focusing on POLITICS of all things (one of the three no-no’s in any conversation), making her very very hard to like, besides on an aesthetic level. Let alone her FTE’s are the worst in the game, as you still barely learn anything about her outside of “im a maid and im good at my job” or other points that the main story already tells you (besides that she once coddled a man so hard he became dependent and that her only weakness is not cutting konjac right ever). It just makes her feel like a barren and incomplete character.
- TOUJOU’S ABILITY TO DO EVERYTHING SO WELL SHE CAN EVEN FUCK HERSELF OVER AMAZINGLY.
Everyone has heard me go on and on about this, but if it doesn’t get said no one will know it so I keep repeating it until the end of time.By making her plan so complex, she basically fucks herself. By making a crime that only someone as competent as her could accomplish, it fucks her because only she can do it. XD. Literally, who do you think would have been able to do all that shit in one night? Saihara’s too weak to drown Hoshi. Don’t fight me on this, because if you seriously believe the detective in training with little self defense training (he worked on infidelity and missing pet/kid cases for fuck sake, his life isn’t really on the line all that often so he prolly wouldn’t know or have to train all that much to protect himself) can take the tennis player that killed over 200 people and has been playing tennis basically all his life (enough to go INTERNATIONAL in MIDDLE SCHOOL) in a fight, we’re gunna need to have a talk.Gonta’s too heavy to use the ropeway.Kiibo’s too heavy to use the ropeway and too weak to carry Hoshi’s body.Himiko’s too weak to drown someone and attempt to shove them in the staircase (which I will touch on real soon here on why even attempting to frame her the way Toujou tried to was dumb as shit).Angie’s... lbr here, prolly missing a few too many tools in her toolbox to really think of a ropeway to kill Hoshi with.Shinguuji’s too weak (and before I get arguments on this, if u think this underweight twig of a man can take out Hoshi when Hoshi’s prolly faster than him and could just run ur wrong)Maki who was the Child Caregiver at the time would be seen as too weak to do anything to Hoshi too (even if she lifts kids, again, Hoshi is fucking rIPPED and has killer legs)Ouma’s too weak (i mean he’s underweight and looks like a twig)Kaito’s a fucking moron when it comes to master plans and wouldn’t have been able to plain something like a ropeway murder (let alone his idol complex wouldn’t have let him kill Hoshi most likely... unless it was a Mondo situation but that’s a later talk)Tenko’s also a fucking moron when it comes to long term planning let alone she wouldn’t touch a man unless to flip him to death, which makes the ropeway seem almost pointlessTsumugi’s too weak to (i mean... rlly. u rlly think she could take him down? under the assumption she isn’t the mastermind ofc at this point in the story, but even then sneak murdering all the kills seems kinda.... eh? too hard for her to do.) Miu’s also a fucking moron that wouldn’t think of using a ropeway (actually, she prolly woulda done the smarter option and just pushed Hoshi’s body out his fucking window since a ropeway would be too much effort)By process of COMMON SENSE, only Toujou would make something so NEEDLESSLY COMPLICATED in an attempt to murder a guy.
- THE DUMBEST PLAN ON EARTH AND HOW YOU COULD PLAN A SIMILAR MURDER AND GET AWAY WITH IT EASY.
Toujou’s plan is fucking dumb when you can think of SO many other ways to get Hoshi killed with more leeway as to who coulda done it. So I bring up the window in his lab, because literally you could just push him out of it and the fall would prolly splatter that midget cunt on the ground no problem. Hell, even handcuff him. Nearly anyone could have pushed Hoshi out of the window, meaning there’s a possibility that Maki or Kaito could have done it w/o that stupid fucking ropeway let alone anyone at night (or hell even during the DAY since time of death was obscured), and it wouldn’t LEAVE THE FUCKING GLOVE.MMMM OKAY RANT HERE REAL QUICK I MEAN IT THAT FUCKING TRASH BAG GLOVE IRRITATES ME. Like, hhh I know Kodaka wanted to make a case where something like the glove gets the killer caught, but HOLY SHIT was it poor to use in a case like this. It not only feels like it’s out of place for her not to just get it in the morning, but why the fuck would she use her gloves anyways?? Why not use Hoshi’s hat? Anyone could use Hoshi’s hat as hand protection down the moronic ropeway and since it’s a beanie it’s prolly made of more strong material than I guess whatever her shit gloves are made of, since they tore like fuckin trash when she went down the ropeway. As someone that wears cut and heat protection gloves because of my job, the gloves she uses are HORRIBLY inefficient (let alone if she’s cleaning before touching food w/ them on... like please don’t that can cause so many health problems) to try and stop ropeburn. She could have also just poisoned everyone, or killed them all in their sleep, to make her job easier on herself. Can’t have a trial if no one’s there after all right? No one would suspect Toujou working on her fuckin job to come and snap their necks during the night or w/e, or poison their food before the show. But also framing Himiko is really fucking dumb. Like, she expects me to believe that Himiko, who is only 2 more pounds than Hoshi mind you, managed to drown him and stuff him in that staircase, and pull him out during the show in under a minute. LOL no. Hoshi looks like he can break her arms like fucking toothpicks without even trying?? Let alone her laziness makes it look REALLY hard for her to have planned a fucking murder. The fact that like, the first hour of the trial wants me to believe Himiko could be the killer is asinine, just because of how basically fucking illogical it is.What Toujou could have done instead, was leave his body drowned in the sink. Yeah, it’d be harder because not everyone can drown Hoshi (ie. Himiko and Ouma and prolly a few others that are considered sticks or weak), but there are a lot of people who could, and drowning someone is a lot easier than the stupid ropeway piranha bullshit. OR PUSH HIM OUT HIS WINDOW. JUST KILL EVERYONE THAT WAY COME ON.Actually, she coulda killed two people easy. Just have someone gullible like Saihara come to meet her at night in the lab after she’s already pushed Hoshi out the window (or even just come running to his room with a bullshit excuse that she saw a shadow ‘running away’ and saw that something happened in the tennis lab) and push him out the window too. Boom, makes it look like a murder gone wrong, and the only alibi that’d be able to testify about the events is hers. Easy win, everyone else gets executed.I get it, in the end, it needs to be a solvable mystery in a mystery game, but it ends up making Toujou look like a complete moron as a result of it, which is unfortunate.
- MOTIVE VIDEOS ARE RIGGED AS SHIT.
Upon learning what hers and Hoshi’s are, it seems almost rigged that they would have to be the killer and victim respectively. Hoshi’s telling him to ‘kys’ and Toujou’s saying ‘lol go kill someone’ makes it like... even if everyone else saw theirs that they’d be like.. the only two to really act on theirs besides MAYBE Miu or POSSIBLY Angie. And then we also see Ouma’s?? And his is just actively “lol u don’t kill bitch but u should do it anyways” making it seem almost counter productive. Like, bitch it just said Ouma made a rule that no killing was a thing and u genuinely expect his ass to break that? ha. The odds were stacked against the two of them, which makes it only seem more forced in the long run. Which is great from a meta standpoint, but a story can be meta while still being fun, enjoyable, and flowing functionally and logically. Which this chapter isn’t really.
- THE SADLY NOT REDEEMING BUT STILL SUPER GOOD HOSHI FACTOR.
Now, the one thing that I can praise this chapter for really well despite all its shortcomings is Hoshi’s characterization and his story. For one chapter he really makes a hard hit at the time, and it’s easy to become engrossed in his little background story about him wanting to find a reason to live. The real cherry on top is his writing and his interactions with the few people he interacts with. with Kaito, it really shows the disposition that Kaito has against him and just how Hoshi is so understanding of others and like... nice. Even when he wants a goal that goes against everyone, he still respects them. “I won’t do something reckless to endanger everyone.”, and acknowledging that it’s an entirely selfish reason why he wants to find the videos and will still not hurt anyone to do it. He may have threatened to show Maki’s video to everyone in exchange for his own from her, but he never hits her or directly harms / threatens her w/ violence or anything extremely dirty. It’s respectable. Ohhh, and Saihara’s dynamic with him is just so sPOT ON HERE. Between the great advice and compliments in general he has for Saihara such as “the world can be bright for someone that’s looked down for so long, be careful” and “you’re confident compared to before, like a weight is lifted off your back. it’s a good look for you” and other such flattery, to Hoshi being a bit more open to Saihara about his feelings (feeling jealous about everyone else having a reason to live, wanting to find one himself, openly admitting he feels he has no purpose in his life and wants to find a reason to be happy like everyone else, etc.). But this dynamic goes both ways, as Saihara also can read Hoshi super fucking well. Like, seeing the Tennis Lab is a great example of it. When Hoshi states the past is behind him, Saihara thinks to himself ‘but then why are you looking at the court with such sad eyes Hoshi-kun?’ and it’s like, just really nice that Saihara’s not dense? Like, Hoshi expresses himself pretty poetically, with the way he talks and whatnot, acting like a wise sage type w/ endless wisdom all the time, so Saihara being able to read past all the flowery language to just hear “god i miss tennis” or “im depressed” is really REALLY refreshing, and a nice balance to see. If you do Hoshi’s FTE’s it personally makes it even better, but that’s not a requirement so moving on. Even just Saihara asking him things like “are you doing well?” or “Is this what you want?” or “or just the small but surprisingly deep talks they just seem to have with one another are tiny details that really complete the dynamic that they can both read each other and can react to one another super well. It feels balanced between the both of them, even in Chapter 1, and it’s a shame Hoshi had to die because I would have LOVED to see how far it could go and how much it could have been expanded on in the later chapters.
Sadly however, no matter how great Hoshi is, it can’t save Chappie 2 from it’s endless faults and gripes that I have with it, that ultimately make the story less entertaining as a result.

Momo Twelve Hits! Rabbit Chat Part 2: Request Hits 1
Part 1 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Tsumugi: Thank you for joining, everyone. We'll be accepting requests for Momo-san's RADIO STATION Twelve Hits! here.
Tsumugi: I'll be your moderator, just like I was for IDOLiSH7 and TRIGGER. I look forward to chatting with you!
Momo: Heya, guys! ヾ(*´∀)(∀`*)ノ゛
Rinto: Thank you for taking the time to come here. We look forward to your requests for Momo-kun!
Yuki: We sure are ^^
Tamaki: Yukirin's been interrogating us every time he sees us
Momo: Interrogating!?
Yuki: Tamaki-kun, I'll come bring you King Pudding after this
Tamaki: Yaaay
Tamaki:
Tumblr media
Banri: What an aggressive distraction tactic.
Kaoru: Literal bribery.
Momo: Wait, what do you mean by interrogating? I need to know!
Yuki: What do you want, Momo?
Momo: Bribery isn't gonna work on me!
Yuki: I'll take time so serenade you for a whole day
Yuki: With complementary fanservice
Momo: Your bribery is working on me~ ((ヾ(*>∀<*)ノ))
Tenn: Are you sure about this
Ryunosuke: I'm sure it'll be a great day!
Momo: I'm happier than anyone in the whole universe right now! d(`・ω´・+)
Yamato: By the way, his interrogations were constantly asking us if we'd decided on a request for Momo-san yet.
Riku: Yamato-san just went and revealed it..!
Gaku: Merciless..!
Yuki: You've betrayed me, Yamato-kun
Yamato: I don't remember ever being on your side in the first place.
Momo: Wait, you asked everyone that!?
Mitsuki: Every time we saw each other at work, lol
Nagi: He sent messages when he could not see us face to face.
Sogo: I could really feel how strongly the two of you feel about each other.
Momo: Aaaaaaaaaah I'm so sorry, guys! lolololol
Yuki: I was curious about what they were going to request from you
Yuki: So I kept asking them, completely unconsciously.
Iori: So you're saying those messages were all sent unconsciously...
Tsumugi: It's making this request chat even more intense..!
Tsumugi: Let's get right to it. As always, we'll start with Tamaki-san, the youngest of us!
Tamaki: Yup
Tamaki: Can you do a reverse version of Re:vale's married couple thing?
Momo: You mean something like me being the husband who asks Yuki "What's for dinner, honey"???
Mitsuki: That's some high level marriage acting, lol
Tamaki: I mean Yukirin calling you a hunk and stuff
Momo: Huh!?
Momo: No way, absolutely not! If a hunk like him calls me a hunk, we'll get stuck in a hunk loop where I keep telling him, "No, you're  a hunk!"
Rinto: The word "hunk" is starting to lose all meaning!
Yuki: Don't be silly. You're a hunk too, Momo.
Momo: You're such a hunk for complimenting me, Yuki..!
Gaku: So this is the hunk loop (lol)
Tamaki: lmao
Tsumugi: I'd love to see Re:vale's new (?) marriage routine..!
Tsumugi: Iori-san, you're next!
Iori: Right. I want Momo-san to woo the listeners with a phrase he thinks will make their hearts race.
Momo: Ah! Isn't that the request I came up with for your show!?
Iori: Yes. I thought I'd like to see you give it a try, as well.
Momo: Thanks for doing my request (・ω<)☆
Mitsuki: I know you said something about taking revenge on your show, but I'd totally forgotten about it..!
Momo: In other words, it's a challenge from you to me? I'm already itching to show off my skills, lol
Momo: You're gonna receive something that'll make you so flustered that you turn off the radio!
Momo: In short, my Heartthrob Cannon!
Gaku: Wait, what is it supposed to be short for!?
Ryunosuke: That sounds like a strong weapon from a shonen manga!
Nagi: You understand nothing, Tsunashi-shi. A Heartthrob Cannon is the kind of sweet technique magical girls use.
Iori: I'm going to receive some kind of nonsensical attack..?
Riku: I'll be checking whether or not your Heartthrob Cannon has an effect on Iori!
Momo: I'm counting on ya, Riku (゜▽^d)
Riku:
Tumblr media
Iori: Besides, I want you to woo the listeners, not me!
Tsumugi: I feel like if  anyone will find the words  to make even Iori-san's heart skip a beat, it's Momo-san..!
Tsumugi: Riku-san, it's time for your request.
Riku: Okay! Mine is to try out personality tests!
Riku: Have you done any before? It's really fun, you find out things you didn't even know about yourself!
Momo: Wow! I've played around with that kinda stuff, but never seriously. That sounds fun~!
Riku: There's this app for doing them, and I've been using it a lot. You can do them over short work breaks, or when you're on the move.
Yamato: Riku's personality was something like, "Rude and uncharming. Doesn't even care if you think he's cute or not~" (lol)
Momo: Are you sure that's accurate!?
Riku: I thought I should get rid of my spoiled emotions and become more honest..!
Iori: Please stop phrasing it in such a familiar way.
Momo: But you're super honest already, lolololol
Tenn: There's no way that test was accurate
Momo: That sounds like a fun app. I'm kinda curious to see what I'd get, lol
Momo: It'll be fun to challenge the app to see into my heart (*`ω´)
Riku: I'll tell you the name of the app later!
Ryunosuke: But if he checks it now, what will he do for his request corner!?
Riku: Aaaah! I forgot!
Momo: Riku, you're just the cutest~ (○´∀`)σ)д`○)♪
Tsumugi: Personality tests, now that sounds fun! Riku-san, tell me what app you're using later, too...
Tsumugi: Kujo-san, you're next!
Tenn: Right. Mine is to tell the fans something you want them to know.
Tenn: I felt that was one of the strengths of hosting a radio show by yourself during my Twelve Hits! broadcast.
Tenn: It lets you engage with your listeners properly. I think they'll be happy if you remind them how you feel about them
Momo: Great idea! I don't get to so solo radio shows often, and I do have a ton of stuff to tell my fans!
Gaku: You're pretty quick to tell the fans how much you appreciate them during lives, too.
Mitsuki: Yep! It always makes me think about how happy your fans must be that you love them so much!
Sogo: Same here. Because you respond positively to your fans' feelings of affection, it lets them know that they're allowed to like you.
Tamaki: Can't they  just like you anyway?
Sogo: Of course they  can. But doing that gives them a sense of security that makes them happier.
Tenn: That's important.
Ryunosuke: We should be more aware of that, too.
Gaku: Yeah!
Momo: Our job isn't to smile at our fans, it's to make them smile.
Momo: I know what kinds of miracles idols can make happen. So I just want to share the happiness I've received!
Yuki: I knew you were a hunk, Momo
Momo: No, that's you \(´д`;)ノ
Yamato: That started out nice, but you ended up going straight back to the married couple (?)  shtick again.
Tenn: I learn a lot from Re:vale's lives, too
Tsumugi: I think I understand why Momo-san makes people so happy a bit better now..!
Tsumugi: Nagi-san, you're next.
Nagi: I have a wonderful request for Mister Momo :-)
Nagi: He may ask anything he wants of me, and I will do it.
Momo: Wait, so it's a reverse request!?
Nagi: Precisely. Re:vale have been good senpais to IDOLiSH7, so I want to repay you somehow.
Nagi: It most certainly has nothing to do with me being unable to come up with a request.
Momo: You're so upfront about this, lolololol
Mitsuki: Nagi, you little...
Tenn: As always, your generosity only extends to members of IDOLiSH7.
Nagi: Whatever do you mean?
Momo: Your reasons aside, you're gonna fulfill my request properly, right?
Nagi: Of course. Whether it is an all-night Cocona marathon or merchandise hunting in Akihabara, I will help you with anything you want.
Iori: That's nothing but your own hobbies, Rokuya-san...
Momo: That sounds kinda fun! I don't really do either of those things, so it might help me find a new hobby!
Yuki: Another one?
Yuki: Make it  something you can do at home
Momo: Don't worry! I'll make sure not to even look at the TV if I'm watching the DVDs with you \(*´∀`)ノ
Banri: Yuki... Can't you at least let Momo-kun do what he wants in his free time?
Yuki: Momo's too busy
Momo: You're a hunk even when you sulk, Yuki~!!!
Nagi: Wait a second. Even if Cocona would forgive such an insincere way of appreciating her, I will not.
Nagi: You must devote every fiber of your being to watching her!
Momo: Your Cocona marathons must be pretty hardcore, lol
Momo: I'll think of something you can do for me~(・∀・)ゞ
Tsumugi: I'm excited to see Nagi-san's request get chosen!
Tsumugi: Sogo-san, you're next!
Sogo: Yes. Mine is to talk about something you're secretly proud of.
Sogo: It can be some kind of special skill, too. You've got a wide range of interests, so I thought you probably have many skills, as well. It'd be nice to know something completely new about you.
Momo: Huh!? I don't think I've got anything to brag about, lol I'm just an average guy, lol
Gaku: An average guy couldn't become a top idol!
Ryunosuke: You're setting a very high bar for what counts as average..!
Sogo: I won't mind if it's something really small, so could you please do it..?
Momo: I'm sure I've got some, but I'm not coming up with anything...
Tsumugi: What kind of secret skills could you have, I wonder..?
Choices/outcomes:
1. Maybe you're really good at cutting your own hair?
Momo: I cut it myself sometimes, back when we were really broke, lol I got pretty good at it. I even cut Yuki's hair a few times!
2. Maybe you can predict when your phone is about to ring?
Momo: I'd have to be psychic to do that, lol Though I like to think I've got a sharp sixth sense!
3. Maybe you can take a nap while making it look like you're still awake?
Momo: Back in school, I did that a lot in morning classes because I was tired from soccer practice, lol Don't you think Iori and Tamaki could pull it off, too?
Momo: Hmm... Sorry  for being so slow! I’ll  think of something by  the show!
Sogo: It's fine! I look forward to your broadcast.
Riku: Excuse me! Can we take a little break!?
Riku: Yamato-san's in kind of a bad shape..!
Momo: Huh!? Did something happen to him? Is he okay!?
Mitsuki: We don't know. He's getting hounded by Iori and Tamaki..!
Gaku: A fight..!
Sogo: It's not anything that serious...
Mitsuki: The geezer forgot a whoopee cushion in the living room, lol
Ryunosuke: As in, the thing that makes a fart noise when you sit on it?
Momo: Ah... Now I get what's going on, lol
Tsumugi: The message log has gotten so long that we may as well take a little break!
Rinto: Right. We'll resume in just a moment!

Note
I've had this in my head for a while, so I'm just gonna ask, from the winter troupe, who do you think are ummmm v i r g i n s (oh God I can't believe I am even asking this sorry omg) if you would like, you can also do the other troupes, i dunno why but I find it interesting in a way (obviously not muku or yuki if you decide to, and also, if you feel uncomfortable with this ask feel free to ignore it! you are the writer after all! take care!❤️❤️
np, anon! to those wondering, very strictly i will not include members who are 17 and under in the game here so please be mindful of that if you do not see a member you like in this post
All Troupes (no members 17 & under): Virgins?
SPRING
Sakuya
Definitely a virgin
You think he's ever held hands with someone in a romantic way??? He can't even ask someone out without quickly changing his mind before going back to ask again. Maybe when he's older and gets out of his cute baby thing, he'll get to bone, but not now. Maybe not ever? Keep him celibate.
Itaru
Definitely not a virgin.
He probably got tired of rejecting people's advances at some point and just cooly agreed to spend the night a few times. Very likely that he barely did any of the work, but still got them to orgasm; he's crazy good for no reason. Definitely really likes being the one receiving, but he's different around you though, and actually makes an effort lol
Tsuzuru
50/50. I have no idea. Most likely a virgin though.
He literally has like 3 younger brothers and juggled a lot of part time jobs along with school; I don't think he has ever had the time of day to pop a boner. His mind is so preoccupied with getting tasks done and finishing upcoming assignments that he's gonna be a virgin for a long while.
Citron
Literally no clue. Maybe not a virgin?
He's 22, and a lot of people tend to lose their virginity in their twenties so who knows with Citron?? He's awfully good at flirting with others and knows how to fluster people, but does he know how to Get Down & Dirty????? Again, no clue. Maybe he bones so well that his victims can't even say anything about it.
SUMMER
Kazunari
Not a virgin probs
Despite how well he socialises with other people, he's not one to just casually have a fling. He does think of other's feelings and how they feel about him, but it's rare for him to take initiative with someone he's interested in. Otherwise if it's the other way around, but he isn't attracted to the person that's coming onto him, he'll refuse and scurry off.
Misumi
Definitely a virgin!
He literally only thinks about triangles and food, there is no chance that he's had sex yet. Maybe if he had a character in the play that required him to be a playboy or something' he'll absolutely fool people into thinking he's been around, but his sunshine personality and tunnel vision towards certain things prevents him from having fun. Don't think he's interested in sex, really.
AUTUMN
Banri
VIRGIN
Mr. Tough Guy over here tries hard to let people know he's been around. Totally, not true. He always brags about having more girls liking him than Juza, and it may be true (since he doesn't seem as terrifying as him), but he has never gone that far with a girl. Sure, he has dated A LOT, has had plenty of girls sit in his lap and has definitely had his fair share of kisses, but he's a virgin. He dumps a girl before he even has the thought of boning.
Juza
VIRGIN
Absolutely no way could he have ever had sex. He's so self-deprecating sometimes, so that's one reason why he hasn't gotten that far with girls, plus he really loves sweets and food so that's probably the only thing occupying his mind. He hasn't even been in a relationship yet because he gets nervous around the people he likes and probably thinks he's not even worth dating anyway. He's probably a good boy though and will wait after marriage.
Omi
Surprisingly not a virgin
Shocking? Not to me, honestly, lol. Again, Omi is a people pleaser, and remember that phase in his life where he was a super tough guy ass kicker??? And rode motorcycles (from what I can remember)??? Of course this man is gonna be a chick magnet, and Of Course I am willing to let him choke me. So, yeah, he's probably fucked once or twice during that time in his life, but once he got into Mankai, abstinate.
Sakyo
Not a virgin, but he'll definitely fool you into thinking he is.
What do I mean? Why, I'll tell ya. He's got a stick so far up his ass sometimes that you can't help but wonder if he's sexually deprived. Like 31 years without getting your dick wet? Absolutely tragic. Anyways, nah, he definitely has a body count higher than 3. May have been quick flings considering he used to work a shady job and got high off the thrill, but he only focuses on Mankai now.
WINTER
Homare
Maybe
He did have a girlfriend at some point, but I don't know how far he would have gotten with her. It seemed like she was so annoyed with him and his lack of emotion that they probably didn't get too far. He is quite the notorious poet though, so maybe he used to have a few groupies??? Is that possible??? Do u think Rupi Kaur has groupies???
Hisoka
. . . Maybe
With his vague storyline about being a spy prior to his amnesia, the only reason I can give for him not being a virgin is solely because he had to have sex for a mission. Like how James Bond has sex with the enemy or something and then gets all the intel of the evil organisation he has to go against (never watched any of the movies). Otherwise, he's a virgin in his life as Hisoka.
Tasuku
VIRGIN
Doesn't care about men or women; too preoccupied with working out and acting that his dick never gets pulled out by someone else. Sure, maybe he'll tug one out because his body demands him to, but he never really was interested in relationships nor does he seem to be someone who finds physical attraction important.
Tsumugi
VIRGIN
Also focuses way too much on acting and working that he doesn't get the chance to. He was in a relationship before if I recall correctly, but he probably didn't have enough time for them considering he was so busy. He has also probably tugged a few out, but only because his body required him to do so. I'm not sure how he feels about sex tbh?
Azuma
NOPE
You can't tell me he's a virgin, it's just not possible. We don't even know this man's age!!!! He's probably a vampire!!!! He's probably been fucking for centuries!!!! And have you seen how well he can flirt? Super crazy. Pretty sure he's a sadist as well with how he always says he likes to be the one playing, plus he always manages to lure out the worst of the boys just for his amusement. Body Count: Out the Roof

A3! Voice Drama: Leaders Meeting
Tumblr media
An oldie but goodie included with the “MANKAI☆KAIKA SENGEN” single released back in February. The four leaders discuss the issues in each of their troupes, get a little personal about some of their members, and even do impressions of them!
Tenma: A3! Drama CD. Sakuya: Leaders Meeting. —— /running footsteps/ /door opening and closing/ Tenma: Sorry, got held up! Banri: Tenma, you’re friggin’ late. Tenma: Filming went over. Sakuya: Everyone’s here now, right? Tsumugi: With that, I call the 13th Leader Meeting to order. Tsumugi: I, Tsumugi Tsukioka, will be the moderator. Tsumugi: As for secretary— Sakuya, I’m counting on you. Sakuya: Please leave it to me! Banri: /game sounds/ Boom! Got that super rare~ Tsumugi: Banri! No games during the meeting. Banri: Woooord. But uh, what’re we doing this meeting? The director isn’t here, yeah? Tsumugi: That’s true… She said she’d leave it up to us, but… Tenma: Hey. Tsumugi: Tenma, go ahead. Tenma: How about “Regarding MANKAI Company’s Operations Strategy?” Banri: Could we even decide something like that with just us 4? Sakuya: Why not collect some of our opinions and make suggestions to the director? Tsumugi: Yeah, that sounds good, I think. I’d like to confirm the status of each troupe, too. Tenma: So we’re set, then. Banri: Roger that. Tsumugi: Alright, let’s jump right in from Spring Troupe, please. Sakuya: Okay! Sakuya: Spring Troupe is currently practicing toward a local tour. We’re thinking of several unique strategies to make something even better than our last in-house production. Banri: It’s been awhile since your last show— isn’t it tough trying to get a feel for the stage again? Sakuya: That is the case, yes. We do get a lot of practice from street acting, though. Tsumugi: Improv theater is a bit different though, isn’t it? Sakuya: Yes… And Itaru seems very busy lately. Tsumugi: He’s the only one working full-time after all, maybe he has lot on his plate? Banri: Ohhhh, haha. It’s ‘cuz there was that massive update. Tenma: Huh? Update? Banri: The expansion for this game he’s into. With leveling and logging in day and night— ‘course he’s got no time. Tenma: You mean he’s “busy” with a game?! Banri: Exactly. Sakuya: There’s Masumi, too. He’s hardly in the mood for practice whenever the director is working with other troupes. Tenma: Yeeaah… Tsumugi: I can see that. The director is his life, after all. Sakuya: Spring Troupe improves exponentially when we’re in a pinch, but we may have trouble with regular, routine improvement. Sakuya: If I could just apply my leadership more… Banri: Well, every troupe’s got their issues. Tenma: Summer Troupe has problems too. Tenma: Since Yuki spends all his time on costuming for other troupes, there’re times when he can’t even do normal practice. Banri: Our costume designer is always aimin’ high after all. Recently Taichi from Autumn’s been getting roped in too. Tenma: Plus, Kazunari is in charge of the website and is busy with the updates. Tsumugi: A number of Summer Troupe members work behind-the-scenes or have their own side jobs, so it’s natural for those kinds of problems to pop up, I guess. Sakuya: Does Autumn Troupe have these kinds of issues? Banri: Well, I think everyone’s pretty gung-ho about practice. Banri: But— we fight a lot. Tsumugi: I’d expect nothing less of MANKAI Company’s most trigger happy troupe. Banri: Hyodo’s friggin’ annoying. Banri: I swear— practice goes nowhere. Tenma: Your relationship’s the same as when you guys first auditioned, huh. Tenma: If we’re talking about getting derailed though, Misumi’s just as bad. Tenma: At the least, we have to make sure we don’t leave anything triangular lying around. Tsumugi: Misumi’s love for triangles is pretty extreme. Banri: He’s more a devout believer than a fan. Tenma: “Trianglicism,” huh? Sakuya: How fitting… Tenma: Also, everyone’s so pushy that we lack unity and calm. Tsumugi: Summer is the overall youngest and an energetic troupe, right? Tenma: “Energetic”? More like “noisy.” Tenma: Those guys totally don’t get I’m the “leader.” Tenma: They don’t respect me at all. Tenma: Seriously, who do they think I am?! Tenma: I’m the talented 15-plus-year veteran actor Tenma Sumeragi! Banri: So the pushiest of them all is actually the leader himself, amirite? Tenma: What?! /chair shuffling/ How am I— Sakuya: Easy, easy. Sakuya: How about Winter Troupe? Tsumugi: Hmm… Well, in short, we have a lot of people who go at their own pace. Banri: Oh yeah. Like a poet, and a hostess*, and someone who sleeps three-thirds of his life. Tenma: Wouldn’t he be asleep his whole life then? Tsumugi: Maybe it’s because our members are all on the older side, but our difficulties are in being impulsive, or rather, unable to concentrate on improving. Tenma: Everyone’s got something, huh. Tsumugi: Yeah… Banri: Can we really talk about “strategy” in this situation? Tenma: We’ve got more fundamental problems. Tsumugi: Mmm… Sakuya: Oh! Speaking of which, I read this in a book the other day. Apparently, a leader’s love for the members is essential to improving a group’s performance. Banri: “Love” for the members? Tsumugi: So complaining like this is no good, then? Tenma: I mean, it’s not like there’s no love at all in those. Banri: ’the heck do you mean by “love” anyway? Talk about embarrassing. Tsumugi: Maybe it’s like, how much you observe and think about the members. Tenma: Or like, how well you know them? Like that? Sakuya: Excuse me! In that case, I’m actually pretty confident. Sakuya: So I noticed this just recently, but when Masumi is sleepy, he always rubs his right eye— never, ever the left one! Banri: Damn that’s specific! Tsumugi: Oh, I see. Good eye. Sakuya: When you live together, you start to notice all kinds of things, right? Banri: I got one. On nights after he’s had gym class, Hyodo will absolutely grind his teeth. Friggin’ obnoxious. Sakuya: Really?! Tenma: Isn’t he just tired? Sakuya: Tsumugi, have you noticed anything about your troupe members? Tsumugi: Hmm… When Tasuku oversleeps, he’ll definitely have a cowlick on the left side of the back of his head— like that? Banri: Of course. Childhood friends of 10-years deep have tons of info. Tenma: Kinda stalker-y, though. Tsumugi: Also, the wheezing sounds Hisoka makes during REM sleep is a little different from the wheezing sounds he makes during non-REM sleep. Sakuya: So it has nothing to do with how long he’s known someone. Banri: Tsumugi is the real deal. Tenma: He’s definitely built to be a stalker. Sakuya: B-But, you can definitely feel his love for the members! Tenma: If we’re just talking about “observing,” I’m observing too! Tenma: Yuki’s always like, “So obnoxious. Crappy actor.” Sakuya: Wow! That sounded just like him! Tsumugi: That was surprisingly good! Banri: That’s just an impression! Sakuya: Well, you can’t do an impression of someone without observing them closely. Banri: Then I can do Hyodo impressions all day long. So sick and tired of him. Banri: “Get lost. Jerk.” Tenma: …How’s that different from your usual self? Tsumugi: It really isn’t… Banri: Hey, it’s totally different! Don’t lump me in with that guy! Sakuya: Okay, my turn! Sakuya: “A blowfish will strike ducks who smile, laugh, and grow fat.” Banri: Hahaha! Spot on! Tsumugi: Just like Citron. Tenma: “Good fortune will come to the homes of those who smile, laugh and grow fat,” right? Tenma: The nonsensical bit was very Citron. Banri: How ‘bout Winter Troupe? Tsumugi: I’m not too confident, but— Tsumugi: “I shall present my poetic secret weapon.” Tsumugi: “Distant montage / Continual décantage…” All: Hahaha! Banri: Hilariousss. Sakuya: That is just like Homare. Banri: “Not too confident”? You were totally into it! Tenma: Oh, me, me, me! Tenma: “Princes are so amazing~ Wish I could be one~” Sakuya: Haha! It’s Muku! Tsumugi: “Each and every spice is critical in curry. In other words, curry is like its own little world.” Banri: Here comes the director out of left field! Sakuya: That’s too real! Tenma: You’re good! /door opening and closing/ Sakuya: Ah, Director! Banri: Oh…Director… Tenma: N-No! We weren’t playing around! Tsumugi: We weren’t fooling around either! Banri: We weren’t practicing for an impression contest either! Sakuya: We were seriously having a meeting! Tenma: Honest! Banri: Yeah! Like, uh, how we express our love for our members? Kinda? Sakuya: Y-Yeah, yeah! Exactly! Tenma: Like, how much we think about our members! Banri: Well, that last bit was totally an impression contest, though… Sakuya: Hm? Uh… the…meeting? Banri: I mean…we were having a meeting… Tenma: About…MANKAI Company’s…future operations strategy… Tsumugi: Ehe…we got really off track, huh?
* From the brief research I’ve done, the term Banri uses here specifically refers to women (who do nightlife kind of jobs). I’m sure he’s cleverly referencing Azuma’s feminine appearance in addition to his previous occupation.
