BUT I HAVE TO MAKE IT.#for context when the lights change in a theater show its bc you go from say. cue 14 to cue 15 #but when you're feeling it out while putting the show together during tech rehearsals sometimes you (the lighting designer)#put a new moment in. and instead of reshuffling everything (bc other ppl are referencing the exact number of each cue)#you just add .5s lol #anyway. this is a 13-scene fic. - it's so nice to have just a straightforward 2d animated fairytale adaptation!!!!!!!

- it's doing its very best to be a disney renaissance princess movie without the necessary resources to be one. i commend the effort. the songs are tragically lackluster

- definitely a kids movie though. don't think i would recommend this to anyone in my age group unless they have a small kid or if they're some kind of weirdo with a particular interest in 2d animated movies or something,,

- when the hardingfele hits the soundtrack. that's the good shit

- the Heroine's Noble Oslo Accent vs The Evil Sorceress' Dubious Trønder Accent

- the backgrounds are sooo pretty

- ...valemon's human form looks A Lot like kenai brotherbear huh.

MORE norwegian fairytale adaptations #i had a point on my list about 'why do they have corn and coffee'#but i will be honest. im no longer sure they wouldn't have corn and coffee??? is this depicting a time with access to corn and coffee #the corn was only in there entirely for a popcorn joke. i don't need to be pedantic #also i love how norwegian animated movies and dubs implement a wide variety of accents even if it makes zero sense #for everyone in the same valley to speak different accents. now that's the real forced diversity (affectionate)#although the fact that trønder accent keeps being cast as the antagonistic accent. ever since someone pointed it out i cannot unhear it #welcome to my blog. here's a niche review nobody asked for

#the real best ending wouldve been the show getting picked up but im kind of not surprised it didnt #i was never super hopeful that such a niche show littered with hitler jokes for the first 56 episodes would get picked up by a studio #idek if its still able to be picked up now bc i have no idea how company shutdowns work #but im also just very cynical from years of every single cartoon ever that isnt the tv version of youtube content farms getting cancelled so #camp camp #i genuinely cant think of more than like 1 or 2 cartoons i liked in the past decade that didnt get cancelled or shortened #or somehow worse just silently pushed under the rug with the creators not even knowing if they'll ever make another season

No because there’s such good thought and reasoning behind this I just cannot for the life of me explain it without sounding insane or facing my fear of being completely wrong (and also insane)

Still blows my mind that Rolin and the CD and everyone got this kind of chemistry when they did chemistry reads with people thousands of miles apart. I guess the whole "let's see how they interact when they're not acting" thing really works. Or Rolin is a witch.
