This is from the end of the Bad Ending. Sullivan has seen what happens if they keep trying to go the way they're going, and he's pissed.

"Arthur, stop. This isn't gonna work. I… what you've done is very clever, and very brave, and… I do not want you taken over by whatever it is they're about to summon. You know what happens. I do not want you to give birth to a... a god, or a god-spirit, or the end of the world, or whatever it is they're doin' in there. I do not want anything to ever take you from me again, do you understand? Not… not the Hustons, or Buck not bein' able to keep his mouth shut, or this place. A court martial. Anything. And you—" Exhaustion and emotion, not burst blood vessels, reddened Sullivan's eyes as seized Hofer by the front of his coat. I had to lay on the floor after I wrote this chapter. It felt like he was breaking the fourth wall and dressing me down, not his bestie. And then Royston shot him in the fucking heart in the next chapter. I love love.

I'm re-reading Dear Mr. Lightwood because I was missing Alec and David shenanigans. They are my favorite comedy duo.

I absolutely love how everyone is just straight up lying to each other. Except Rafe. Poor guy is just trying to simp after his beautiful wife in peace.

DML was just pure chaos. I remember writing it after I watched the Bullet Train and wanting to write something that was out of pocket WE NEED MORE STORIES LIKE THIS.

Amaterasu then gave the cookies to those she considers her friends, including Tsukuyomi. Except for Zero, as it doesn’t have a mouth.

In response, Zero possessed Kirby because he’s the most willing host. It thought they tasted nice. Kirby did too.

Well, Elfilin is second, but he lost to Kirby to a rock paper scissors match, so…

There were only a couple of cookies she could give, so in the end, she gave them to Tsukuyomi, Kirby, Bandana Dee, Elfilin, Zero, Sammy the awoofy and his waddle dee friend.

Archangel Michael

I thought I'd finally draw Archangel Michael who first appeared in the Devilman Lady manga, not much was shown about Michael aside from him being a willing lackey to God and manipulating events from behind the scenes and being the twin brother of Satan. But I thought it'd be fun to make my own version of Archangel Michael in how he relates to my Devilman fic (Love before its too late) since he will show up in the later chapters. Instead of the full golden armor he wore at the end of the DML manga, I thought I'd give the classic blue and red outfit Archangel Michael tends to have in the old paintings, since I felt like it showed his closer connection to humanity in my verse. Also in my verse Michael's and Satan's hair used to be longer and wavier like how Satan's hair was in Crybaby since it kind of reminds me of a Lion's mane, since in Gnosticism how the Demi Urge in has a Lion's head https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lion-faced_deity.jpg and Go Nagai was clearly inspired by Gnosticism when he made DML (maybe even as early as Devilman or VJ but that's another topic for another day lol) But in my verse when Lucifer turned against his father's orders to destroy the demons, he was captured and punished horribly and Michael cut off his wavy locks since he was jealous of how often his father would go on and on about his twin's beauty. For a brief time Michael became his father's new favorite until in the big battle that ended with the angels withdrawing and the demons winning, Satan got his revenge on Michael by cutting off his hair and scarring his twin's neck with his own flaming sword. Michael was blamed for the failed battle by God and was greatly humbled by the experience, vowing that the next time he fought Lucifer he would not be so cocky next time... that's all I'll say about Michael for now lol, there is more going on with him and you might be able to guess it if you listen to this playlist I made for Michael too cause again the brainrot was really strong XD

the music of wakanda forever

while the entire movie is spectacular and probably my most favorite MCU movie of all time, i just wanted to talk about the soundtrack.

the soundtrack contains of numerous amazing musical and lyrical masterpieces that really pertain to the movie. but let's talk about one of my favorite songs - Coming Back For You by Fireboy DML.

The lyrics goes:

Well, I pray that the universe

Wakanda's culture and traditions have always been dependent on Gods and ancestors, like Bast and Bashenga. Then their is the famous ancestral plane which only Black Panthers have access to. They've always been superstitious - which means praying to gods, ancestors, to the universe itself is something they would do to bless someone.

Gives you way more than you deserve

This lyric, I would say, pertains to Shuri. Shuri, who has lost her father to an explosion. Shuri, who has lost her brother to an illness. Shuri, who has lost her mother to war. She does not know what did she do to deserve such unfortune and suffering, which means the prayer to the universe is for her, that the universe be good to her.

And when your tears fall like shooting stars

The movie is all dramatic and sad. Especially with the deaths of two main characters - and Shuri's family. This movie has shown Shuri crying more often than not. She cried when she could not save T'Challa. She cried when remembering her brother. She cried when she talked about not being able to save him. She cried when her mother died. She was tearing up when she heard her mother's voice. She cried when she was burning her funeral clothes. This movie was about grief. Tears come along with grief.

Remember who you are

This line was shown during the fight of Namor and Shuri in the beach. Shuri heard the words, to show them who she is. That vengeance should not consume her at all, that she is merciful and that she wants peace. Who she is, depended right at that moment. If she would let vengeance consume her or not.

And the next line is even more related because-

Just look up to the sky, you'll see

At the credits scene, Shuri is crying while looking at the vast sky and ocean. She is crying and mourning and in grief. In grief because she had lost her family. In grief because her wrath had almost lost herself, and that was probably the most troubling to her.

This song is a dedication to Shuri of Wakanda. And the bottomline of this theory I have is that - T'Challa is most definitely rooting for her from the ancestral plane. That he, along with their mother and father, is praying to the universe. That it should be nicer to Shuri. That he knows she is grieving, but he also knows that she is stronger and has become stronger after the whole ordeal.

I'm coming back for you

Even if Shuri did not see her brother or her mother or her father in the ancestral plane, they love her more than the universe provides. I just think that while it was dooming to see Killmonger in the ancestral plane, her family will always be there.

That they're never going to leave her, and that theyll see her someday. When she needs them.

Always be there for you.

[Just liked to think that this song could be a dedication to Shuri by her family but most of all, T'Challa. T'Challa, her brother, whom she has been the closest to. T'Challa, whose illness couldn't be treated even after all her gifts and prayers. T'Challa who loved his sister a lot. The sibling dynamics have always been there: bickering, fighting, joking around. Losing that person you are the most comfortable with, the person whom you trusted the most is the most devastating thing. So at most, this was a theory I personally wanted to share. And I just miss T'Challa real bad.]

3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?

That I discovered this year? That’s hard. I’m not sure I discovered much music this year that wasn’t new releases from bands I already liked or singular songs. My most listened album of the year was fob cause I’m specific and sm(f)s came out in like January. My song of the year for the second year in a row was one I discovered late last year and fell in love with. I’ve listened to all of 3 songs from the artist tho.

Jukebox the Ghost was probably last year or the year before when my partner introduced me. They’ve tried getting me into The Family Crest but it’s never been the right time for an adhd hyperfixation deep dive. I got back into Matt Maeson after seeing him live, but that was my second time seeing him so he’s not new. I got super into Sammy Rae and the Friends for a hot minute after seeing her live but I first found her during quarantine looking for songs for the moss playlist. If you’ve got a moment, listen to the song I’m gonna link. It’s good. Sammy Rae described it as for the girls and the gays.

I could maybe claim Sub-Radio after Stacey’s Dad went viral but I’ve had flashback in my Spotify likes for a while so connecting the dots was just what got me to listen to more and also follow them on YouTube. If I had to pick a single that isn’t from one of the artists I’ve listed it’d have to be Drink Water.

Maybe the obcr of Some Like It Hot counts? That came out this year. I’m only obsessed with it since I saw the show live right before Christmas last year and then had to wait months for the obcr to come out so idk if it counts.

Answered that one here with a lot of small joys I’m looking forward to repeating.

18. A memorable meal this year?

I’m trying to think of a meal that was worth remembering. A place that was worth going back to. My first instinct is my mom’s 60th. We splurged and she got reservations for the place up on Mount Washington. The one that overlooks the point. We weren’t close to the windows cause my grandmother can’t do steps and it was rainy but it was a lovely celebration.

Oh! God this is the dumbest fucking story but it’s certainly memorable. So like I’m sure you’re probably vaguely aware that I decided I wanted to be disappointed in new and interesting ways after the Pens let me down so thoroughly last spring that I decided to fuck around and become a Pirates fan. What you probably don’t know bc I didn’t do much lbing is I watched a stupid amount of Pirates games. What you’ve probably forgotten is the Buccs had a ridiculously hot start last season. 20-8 in the month of April. One of those games was actually two - rain reschedule meant it was a double header. My best friend spent the day taking his black belt test (I forgot if he’s second or third degree now but he passed!) and wanted to go out to celebrate. There’s a new-ish chain crab place in the waterfront where the TGIF used to be. The bestie isn’t a sports person at all but my sister and I are so we asked for the tv to be switched to the game. The second game of the double header was one where the Buccs scored 16 runs off the Nats for a final score of 16-1. Watching them light up basically every Nats pitcher who hadn’t pitched in the earlier game while systematically demolishing an order of crab legs was just an excellent experience. Was the food memorable? Eh the crab is fine for a chain. The meal itself was very very fun. Like exactly what you want when watching a game at a bar/restaurant. I won’t say platonic ideal but like the vibes were certainly right.

Royston's fondest memory of Sullivan is one he continuously asks for from Sullivan and annoys me to draw: one night Sullivan slammed him up against the wall, put his legs around his waist, and fucked him until they were both dizzy. This was canonically how New Year's Eve went until the sixth loop, and it's become such a meme that when I type the following three emojis, DMLS enjoyers know exactly what I'm talking about: 🤲🍑🥺

The things Sullivan had to do to get to a point where Royston would just lay still and cuddle with him... this is incredibly nonsexual and I apologize. I think it was the fifth loop when he realized he had autonomy despite the universe showing him over and over his actions were futile. Y'all saw this in the second October chapter but I'll c&p for the non DMLS enjoyers:

"Are you staying because you don't have a choice?" "I'm making one right now." "You made one already." "No, I mean… watch." With a deep breath before diving, the trooper grabbed the gambler by the back of his fool head, and took claim of his fool mouth, and kissed him like he didn't know what the hell he was doing, didn't have the experience but made up for it in enthusiasm, he hoped, he hoped this would be the way it happened every time, if it ever happened again. That he always got to kiss the gambler like it was his first proper kiss, their first proper kiss, and the gambler would always accept that he came here tonight because he wanted to be with him. This was much nicer than being seduced. As if privy to the trooper's thoughts, the gambler smiled around the kiss. That smile tasted like forever. And Sullivan was glad, so glad he could not recall the last time he was so glad, to have Royston lain down, in a bed, in his arms. All they did was kiss. All night. All he did was hold him. Cole Sullivan had never been this happy in his entire life. Not even the first time, when he did not know he could pull Arthur Royston off the path he was on, when he did not know this would happen again. This would never happen again.

I am criticizing modern gyaru who know nothing about the fashion or how fast fashion works who are going on TikTok and blaming the rise of jirai kei for their favorite brands “not selling gyaru.”

It is ahistorical and a complete rewrite of history.

Gyaru was *dying* when these brands started to shift. This was back in the mid 2010s. And they didn’t just start selling jirai kei over night, they slowly shifted to girly kei. which fun fact: gyaru magazines started also promoting girly kei at the time because Larme Magazine was extremely popular and that’s what girls wanted to look like. K-pop also became popular and women wanted the more simplistic look and not the huge lashes and long nails. Things just changed at that time.

When jirai kei became popular some brands already had the aesthetic (ma*rs for example always used pink and black almost exclusively) but some brands shifted harder into jirai kei more recently. It’s a very big fashion trend in Japan right now. Yes a trend, jirai kei is just a fashion these days not everyone participates in the lifestyle and I wish westerners would get over this.

What I was saying was that gyaru shouldn’t say “jirai kei is the reason why my favorite brand doesn’t sell 2010s era gyaru.” And make weird internet beef over the fashions.

Because for one (1) gyaru has evolved. It’s about staying on trend, so girly kei is not the opposite of gyaru. Besides there’s plenty of stores that have clothes that gyaru wear. People don’t know because they don’t buy gyaru magazines. For two (2) as another person mentioned Liz Lisa and DML still sell similar clothes or in LL’s case THE SAME clothes they just changed out the models. Three (3) gyaru girls wear girly fashion because it’s wildly popular and again gyaru is about being on trend. Dazzlin is very popular among gyaru and it’s a girly esque brand for example. Four (4) gyaru had very similar controversies to jirai kei. If you had blonde hair and a tan people thought you were a delinquent. Point blank. Even if you weren’t. Five (5) brands had to change or go under. When the ageha style died down MA*RS had no choice but to change otherwise they’d lose the store. They went for a swankiss style before settling on their current style (which they tag as ryousangata, girly, and landmine). Which is why I said “brands are not your friend” and “you weren’t around when MA*RS had the lingerie style”

I’m not shaming kids. But it’s frustrating when a 20 year old who was literally like 8 when MA*RS had its more “signature” style screaming about how jirai kei is the reason MA*RS changed. They weren’t around for it for one so I’m not sure why they’re so asshurt about it. “Agejo” doesn’t exist/changed, modern ageha girls wear Balmain and girly fashion these days, and the style started changing wayyy before the word “jirai kei” had any popularity.

Hope that clears it up. All I ask is that people not spread misinformation and actually learn the history of the style they claim to love.

Gyaru is kinda sad. A lot of resources were lost when the style lulled back in the day. You don’t have people like Mitzi who took staff snaps and updated you on gyaru trends. You don’t have ricoche to hang out. A lot of y’all have no idea what you’re talking about but will just spread misinfo.

No it’s not Jirai girls fault that ma*rs, ank rogue, and Liz Lisa stopped selling gyaru. Around that time gyaru was dying off. More interest was put into larme magazine and “larme kei” (which we know isn’t the name, it’s just girly kei). Those brands shifted to girly style because that’s what the average Japanese girl wanted to look like.

When jirai became popular in 2020 lot of those stores started making clothes that fit the aesthetic but if and when jirai dies they’ll quietly chase the next trend.

It’s fast fashion, not your best friend. They’re trying to cash in on what’s current.

And secondly you were a child when ma*rs and Liz Lisa actually sold gyaru. Shut the fuck up. You don’t remember it and you weren’t there.

Week 09.19.22

Monday: Great day I went to senior seminar, it is a graduate preparation class. We have to create presentations on the readings and critique one another. The Professor has not been happy with our performance so far. 😂

Tuesday: The morning started out productive. I finished my notes on Plato’s Gorgias. The rest of the day I was a potato 🥔

Wednesday: I I finished the next chapter of my reading for Senior seminar. Then clocked in for my 6 hour shift.

Thursday: Anxiety won. I was a potato 🥔

Friday: I went to work. I was too tired to study.

This week all in all was ok. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted. The possibility that is perfectionism talking is high. But a work in progress is a process.I learned how to make the Caramel Frappuccino at home. I have solved one problem to create another. I love it here.
