Satanic Wedding

Here's another Amon OVA style wedding picture this time of the Evil version of my ot3! XD I was just going to do the normal version of my ot3 but I've missed drawing the evil version of them a lot, so here's a extra! The colour scheme and look of this piece is based on this promo for the Amon OVA

and a little of this one too that I found recently

I really love finding these promos for the Amon OVA, and thought I'd try to create something that looked similar and something the original artist could've created if they loved Akira x Miki x Ryo as much as I do! This took like ten and half hours to make and I'm pretty proud of how it came out. Stay tuned for the next wedding picture, I haven't decided if its going to be just the normal version of the ot3 or another Amon OVA ship yet XD

Dawn Wedding

Here's another wedding picture, this time of Akira and Ryo getting married at Dawn while both of them wear wedding dresses! What can I say besides the fact I love wedding dresses so much and also I wanted to pump up the queerness here too!

The colour palette is based on the pinkish tones of the ending scene of the Amon OVA when the missiles are firing off in the distance and Akira and Ryo are bathed in the pinkish glow of the destruction of humanity. But here I thought it would make a nice colour scheme for a much nicer outcome! :3

I also added the sun and moon symbolism for Akira and Ryo since I do think its very fitting for them both.

Night Wedding

Andd here's another shipping wedding piece! Again keeping with the Amon OVA theme, I thought I was have a go at the desaturated colour scheme the nighttime scenes it had. I normally play a lot with bright colours in my art so this was quite different to work with but I had a lot of fun playing with this palette, and in a way it gives this piece a nice soft feel to it. The flower in Miki's hair is a lotus since I thought the meanings it has for it make sense for this situation where despite all of the hardships Miki and Ryo/Satan found love and peace together! https://symbolismandmetaphor.com/flowers-that-symbolize-peace/

Bloody Wedding

After finishing my Sunset Wedding Akira/Miki piece I thought I'd make a wedding piece for Satan/Zennon! This is also based on the Amon OVA and the Fewture Figure of Zennon, which is where I got the colour scheme and the skull head and skull necklace from, its a pretty metal design and I'm so salty Zennon never showed up in the Amon OVA, I would've loved to have seen him!

The background is based on the ruined church tower Satan was staying when Amon confronts him, and I did my best to capture the vibe and feel of it the best I could. This piece took nearly ten hours to make XDD it was kind of challenging to get Satan's pose right and Zennon's design look as close as possible to the Fewture figure https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/devilman-zenon-12in-pvc-figure-statue-fewture and of course do the shading as close as possible to the Amon OVA's. It was a lot of fun though like the sunset wedding piece, I would like to keep playing around with this style of colouring again in another piece.

Sunset Wedding

So after finishing my latest pictures I thought I'd put up a poll to see what to draw next and the option for drawing shippy art won and once it did I knew exactly what I wanted to draw!

I've been meaning to make more Akira/Miki art but lots of things got in the way especially given that I had wanted to catch up on working on the Devilman inktober prompts! XD And now I have gotten the chance to make this piece, I wanted to try to play around with my style more by making this piece look as close as possible to the Amon OVA in terms of style and colours of the Sunset scenes in that ova, since they are the most beautiful parts of it and some of my personal fave scenes. And also I've been listening to Beautiful Things by Benson Boone a lot lately and honestly it really fits Akira's mindset if everything with Miki is going well and his possible fears of losing her.

But for now everything is beautiful and peaceful and Akira and Miki are slow dancing in the sunset after tying the knot! 💖💖💖

DVMNIMKTOBER Day 13 Cyborg 009 vs Devilman

Day Thirteen is Cyborg 009 vs Devilman and oh boy this was quite the undertaking to make! XD I knew I wanted to do something big for this prompt and include as much characters I could! Despite the difficulty I had making this piece, it was a lot of fun especially when I was making the background and drawing Joe's and Francoise's long as heck scarves, they have a swooshiness that I find very compelling to draw.

As for my thoughts on Cyborg 009 vs Devilman, I had a lot of fun watching the mini series, the animation was very nicely done and had some pretty badass moments, the villains had great designs and the crossover between the two series work well despite the different tones Cyborg 009 and Devilman have, for one Cyborg 009 ends far happier than Devilman does! XD While it was fun to learn about a series I hadn't heard of, I did feel like the Cyborg 009 plotline and characters did overtake the Devilman side of things but I suppose the mini series was about reintroducing Cyborg 009 and Devilman to a newer audience and both series did get a new adaption after this, from what I heard.

And also fun fact Go Nagai was once an assistant to the Cyborg 009 creator Shotaro Ishinomori which is pretty cool and I think a reason this crossover series was made too!

Dvmninktober Day 15 Grimoire

Day fifteen is Grimoire, Devilman Grimoire is a Devilman AU where is its basically a updated version of the 72 anime with elements from the Devilman manga and the different spin offs and sequels Devilman has had over the years. The character designs and the artwork is really amazing, and I can't deny that it is inspiring and I do like the fact the manga does have Miki be more of a badass in the fact she's a witch and later becomes a Devilman.

In fact that's what's inspired Lady Zennon from my Evil AU, I loved the idea of Satan merging Miki with a demon. Though in Grimoire it wasn't to help Miki gain power to make her lose to a demon and hurt Amon/Devilman deeply. Luckily, Miki manages to become a Devilman and fights alongside Amon to kill Satan and becomes quite the powerhouse throughout the series.

Now here's the thing, I haven't actually read Grimoire but I have seen bits and pieces of it and have heard how the plot goes, I don't have the desire to read it myself for a lot of reasons. It honestly sounds like a huge mess despite all of the neat ideas it has, and also I'm too much of a Ryo/Satan lover to be happy how dirty Satan was done in Grimoire...

And like I've said there are a whole host of problems in Grimoire that also put me off XD

But enough negativity about that and more talk about the picture! I had a lot of fun making this picture, I played around with different inking styles and shading for this one, and honestly it was very refreshing to play around and again I added some colour despite this being an inktober but I can't help it, colour is my thing XD and I always enjoy drawing Miki being powerful and badass!

DVMNINKTOBER Day 14 Neo Devilman

Day fourteen is Neo Devilman, a collection of one shot stories by different creators set in the devilman universe, with a couple stories being done by Go Nagai himself. The stories are usually beautifully drawn and have a range of styles and subjects that make it quite fun to look through, honestly its pretty cool seeing other's take on the Devilman series. Some of the stories are hit and miss, some of them really big misses in my opinion! But the first story done by Hagiwara Lazy (or Lazy Hagiwara) is one of my personal faves of the collection and honestly I think is the best one aside from the Go Nagai story of the final battle between Akira and Ryo/Satan.

My picture kind of spoils the ending of that story but I think its worth the read, especially if you have some knowledge of the bible and the different stories in it and some of the word usage it has. There are a lot of layers in that short story that scratch at my brain in a good way once I had learned what some of the things Ryo/Satan was saying meant in context to the bible.

I decided to play around with a different inking brush for this picture as I tried to capture the inking style in the short. I also tried to keep the shading as simple as possible to let the inking speak for itself more. Over all this was a pretty fun piece to make and I'm going to continue to try playing around more with my inking brushes in my future artwork.

The Morning Star's Beloved Priest

Phew! After nearly a month away, I'm finally getting around to post again! I'm sorry for being away for so long, I have been again very busy and only recently been able to work on more art again! It feels nice to be back to making art again as I have very much missed it.

So the first piece I had completed this month is another piece to do with my Chosen of the Morning Star AU, and its my first Ryokira picture of the year too! I had wanted to play around with colour a lot more this time round and honestly making art for this AU is the perfect excuse for that.

Here Ryo/Satan is slowly shifting into his human form as he helps to cloth Akira after a huge fight with some demons. As a priest in this AU, Akira deals with a lot of guilt with finding enjoyment in the power being a Devilman gives him, and often fears of losing his humanity. But fortunately Satan never lets Akira forget his gentle side and always helps him feel human again and that's what make it hard for Akira to deny he does deeply desires and loves his best friend so much. As much he wants to serve God's will, the longer he is spends fighting demons as Devilman and spends time with Ryo and Miki, the more little doubts creep in… did he make the right to become a priest and was he actually serving God's will?

The answers he finds only raise more questions…

A peaceful day in Kakariko Village

I've finally gotten this picture done that I've been making likely since October! XD I've been so busy with other things and well, my back hurting and all, but its here and finally finished!

For months I've been watching my partner play The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, The Legend of Zelda ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and I've really enjoyed the hidden depths the games have in their lore and just the cosy hopepunkness of it all!

And Oot Link's story breaks my heart in so many ways, he really goes through it! So I wanted to draw a picture of him having a nice peaceful moment with Navi for once and enjoying drinking some nice milk while sitting on a rooftop in Kakariko village. :3

Day twelve if your fave AU and I had to pick one of the best Devilman AU comics I've ever read in this fandom, @diabolical-jinx Omens! https://www.deviantart.com/diabolicaljinx

I really adore Jinx's beautiful artwork and world building of Heaven, its angels, the Earth and the demons, its so well thought out and exciting to see how Lucifer navigates in the demon world and I'm so pumped to see how he learns to get on with Amon and the rest of the demons!

Jinx's designs are so beautifully done, I adore the thoughtful details she puts into them, for example I love that Lucifer's wrist wings also double as wrist blades, and they are so fun to draw! I can't wait to have a go at drawing Jinx's Amon, he's very cool looking!

And also DiabolicalJinx also plays with different mediums for Omens, and that includes animation! I'm excited to see what else Jinx has in store for this comic and what fun and twists we'll see along the way!

So I totally recommend to go over to DiabolicalJinx's DA page and website and give Omens a read!

The Morning Star sees an opportunity

First picture of the year!!! I hope you all are having a good start of the New Year and had a lot of fun during the holidays! :3I'm still working on looking for a job and trying to take care of my back better and not overwork myself when it comes to my art, I am trying to post a little more than I've done in the past few months by posting any art I've finished right away rather than post it in batches. I can't promise this means you'll be seeing my art more often as I am still going to be busy but I'll do my best!

As for this picture, I had made a poll of what I should draw next and another Nun!Miki AU piece won it! Which is great as I love working on this AU a lot!

As I've said before, Akira in this AU is a priest and while he is older and wiser than his canon counterpart, Akira still has his struggles, namely with religious guilt and the re-awaking desires he had thought he had long buried since merging with Amon plaguing him. Despite their faith and vows, Akira and Miki still hold strong feelings for each other even if they cannot admit them to each other or to themselves and that leaves them possibly vulnerable to the schemes of Satan!

Satan noticing their buried longings plots to plant seeds of doubt into Akira and Miki to not only to gain a small victory by corrupting the servants of his father but later on as his love for Akira and Miki grows, it becomes more about freeing them from their cages and allow them to truly flourish as they were meant to.

After all, a beautiful and pure love such as theirs should not be denied...

Unholy Duo

Andddd this is the last upload for the day! XD And this time its a picture for my Chosen of the Morning Star AU! I had a mutual mention this AU and I decided to finally make some art for it again. This time I wanted to show off Akira's role in this AU, he does still become Devilman, he and Miki hunt demons together, and they are quite effective!

Also as Miki's bond with Satan grows, her powers increase to the point she can shoot out beams of light like the angels do in the intro of Devilman|: The Birth though not as destructive as in the OVA, thankfully!

Also after having talked with Devilmanz666 about this AU and watching a friend play Faith: The Unholy Trinity again, I've decided to make Akira a priest in this AU too! I think it would add more to the temptation role Satan would play in this AU with Akira and Miki. down deeply because of their vows, and that causes them a terrible amount of mental anguish. When Akira becomes a Devilman, it gets harder and harder for him to ignore his desires for both Miki and Ryo. And slowly Satan will sow some seeds of doubts about their faith and the unfairness of how that they cannot be together due their vows without completely breaking it and thus acting selfishly.

But given that they are risking it all for the sake of the world, would it really be so bad to break their vows for the sake of giving themselves some happiness in this world?

I think at first Satan would view his corruption of Akira and Miki as a victory over his father in stealing his followers away and making them his own, but then Satan would start to truly want to help Akira and Miki since the way they live reminds him a little too much of his own former life with God…

I had a lot of fun making this piece, I really wanted to do more action scenes and it was nice to be working with colour again after doing so many black and white pieces. I hope to make more Nun!Miki AU art in the new year since I really do love this AU and want develop it more.
