"the first casualty, when war comes, is truth"
i wish i wasn't writing this.
i wish i didn't have to caveat this whole statement with "by the way, i strongly condemn the killing of innocent civilians in any circumstance whatsoever" because i am a muslim and obviously every muslim voice represents all 1.8 billion of us, right? but your faves can go on instagram and loudly proclaim there is no two sides to this - i stand with the apartheid state bombing and starving children! with no consequences whatsoever. right.
i wish i didn't have to filter every bit of information i saw because of rampant lies and misinformation boosted across social media, especially when it shrouds the actual atrocities happening. it's still unconfirmed whether 40 babies were murdered by hamas militants - if true, it is an awful, awful act done by the lowest of the low. but as we speak, 447 children have been confirmed to be killed - murdered - in gaza just in the last few days.
i wish i didn't see videos of those murders. i wish i could wipe away the horrific wailing of a father as he clawed his daughter's lifeless body out of rubble, falling to his knees as he cried for her to wake. i wish i didn't see mothers clutching small, bloodied bundles in their hands, screaming and screaming and screaming. i wish i could forget that i have been seeing iterations of these videos coming out of palestine from 2021, 2014, 2009, 2006 - oh, basically anytime israel decided to launch an offensive on gaza.
i wish children didn't make up 47% of gaza's 2 million population, of which 4 out of 5 were living with PTSD and depression as per a report from last year (aka before this latest shitstorm started), because living in an open air prison under constant threat of bombing really helps make those childhood memories extra special. i wish these children were considered as human as those across the border, their lives as important and meaningful.
i wish that literal war crimes were not taking place in gaza right now. this includes the war crimes by hamas of taking innocent hostages - hamas, may i remind the reader, is a palestinian terrorist organisation but not all palestinians are hamas - and also the war crimes of the israeli government by literally ordering a siege of gaza with "no electricity, no food, and no fuel." this is to ensure that the children who aren't already dead are well on their way, i guess.
i wish we weren't watching an ethnic cleansing literally taking place in front of our eyes.
i wish i didn't feel so helpless. i wish i could console my friends who are on the daily losing multitudes of relatives, and who now have no way of finding out who else they've lost until the electricity comes back on. i wish my words didn't feel so hollow.
i wish i could wave a palestinian flag in solidarity but i may get arrested for it here, in the uk, so better not.
i wish. i wish. i wish.

I know some dickheads have now decided that Judaism is the "bad, violent, terrorist religion" and Islam is the "good, peaceful" one, which is only to be expected of white people, but how much of an issue is it currently? Like I've seen some USAmericans sharing how the Islamic faith shapes Gazans values and perseverance (good) except with that distinct white hippie "I'm about to imprint on this like the world's most racist duck" vibe (bad), but I didn't think they're already turning on Judaism in numbers.
Do they realize that Christianity is also the same kind of comfort to Christian minorities in Asia and Africa? That it was Buddhists that genocided the Rohingyas in Myanmar and Tamils in Sri Lanka? That Hindu fundamentalists are even now trying to ethnically cleanse Muslims in India? How Hindus and Christians are terrorized and persecuted in Pakistan? That Muslims have a history of persecuting and ethnically cleansing Jews too?
Really tired of asking y'all to be normal about people's religions man. There's no religion that's inherently violent or exceptionally peaceful. It's just like any other ideology that becomes a weapon in the hands of ethnic power. Interrogate power, not religion, and respect people's belief systems insofar as they aren't in your business.
Edit: I've amended the "long history" of Muslim persecution of Jews because it might be misleading in the current political climate. Zionism and antisemitic Arab nationalism are twin births resulting directly from Christian colonization, and Islamic empires tended to actually be more tolerant of other religions compared to Christianity, especially Judaism, which was considered a sibling religion. Antisemitism wasn't ideologically entrenched in Islamic tradition. It's simply that ethno-religious power will lead to ethno religious domination and intermittent cleansing of minorities, and Islam is no exception. Humans be humaning always.
#Edit: please boost the edit#why can't white people just be fuckin normal for once#tbh this site was so weird about Judaism that it felt almost culty#I had several crises about whether I was being antisemitic before I realized no I'm just reacting to the idealization-demonization binary#that seems to be all western leftists know how to do#white queers are the worst about this#and now some of the asks I've been getting gives me the impression that the west thinks ''Islamist'' is some kind of dangerous cryptid#y'all attach insane levels of importance to people's choice of headgear#the only common denominator of all the Muslims I know is their fixation on biriyani idk#a lot of white lefties just want to use religion to distance yourself from your white privilege#same reason as why communism is so attractive to you#y'all want to share in a legacy of oppression because it's easier than self-reflection and unlearning#antisemitism#anti Zionism#Islamphobia#philosemitism#white queers#western leftists#racism#religious fundamentalism#genocide#religious violence#knee of huss

I think the top tweet is a bad faith interpretation of this sign. These protestors aren't telling Jewish people they should be in hell. They're talking to the Israeli invading force. The soldiers that have been bombing them.
I disagree. All Jews, even ones you don’t like, are indigenous to the Levant.
IDF soldiers don’t deserve antisemitism for being “bad.”
No Jews deserve antisemitism for being “bad.”
Muslims don’t deserve Islamophobia for being “bad.”
Hamas terrorists don’t deserve Islamophobia or anti-Arab hatred for for being “bad.”
People of any marginalized group do not deserve to face bigoted discrimination for being “bad.”
When you criticize people who you dislike from a marginalized group while weaponizing that group’s identity against them, then you are insulting all members of that group. Not just the ones you don’t like.
Bigotry is not ok. Ever. Period.

I'm Christian, and I've never really understood why Christians hate Jews, either. Like, yeah, they killed Jesus, the early apostles, and many in the early church, but that wasn't the JEWS as much as it was the SANHEDRIN. The ELITE.
More Christians were killed by the ROMANS, the GERMANICS, the SCANDINAVIANS, the GAELS - note none of these were Jewish, but they were other white people. The MUSLIMS. More CHRISTIANS have killed other Christians than Jews have killed us. The 30 Years War remains one of the most devastating wars in recorded history when scaled.
Like, yeah, it's kinda weird that some of the most evil people are Jewish (Marx, Lenín, Soros, Rothschild), but just as many evil people AREN'T Jewish (Hirohito - who ironically did let Jews take refuge in Japan when OTHER people [*cough FDR cough*] didnt, Mao, Guevara, Hitler - who from what I've gathered, there's no solid evidence that he had Jewish ancestry).
Perhaps the reason they're evil is because of a person issue and not their race? But idk, I'm just a dumb conservative Christian.
Also, the thing about the Jews who happen to be evil is that it's not their Jewish beliefs that make them do evil things. In the case of Marx and Lenin, they did most of their evil after rejecting their Jewish heritage. Meanwhile, every Islamist terrorist commits their evil actions because of and for their religion.

Truly wild that lefties can grasp that not all Muslims are terrorists and that all Muslims aren't inherently associated with the governments of Iran, Iraq, etc, but the minute you tell them that all Jews aren't responsible for any atrocities committed by Israel's current government, they call us racist and throw a tantrum, and by wild I mean I am so tired of this crap I'm not even shocked I'm just tired

Daily update post:
This morning, 15 minutes after the break in fighting was supposed to begin, Hamas fired two rocket barrages into southern Israel. This is what we mean when we say that Hamas has broken every ceasefire ever. The only reason why this didn't lead to the hostage deal falling apart, is because Israel chose to "contain" Hamas' violent rocket attack. But remember this when we explain why we can't accept Hamas' existence anymore.
Israel confirmed that the 13 hostages being released have arrived in Egypt, and there are already Israelis there, taking care of them. IDK when we'll get their names, and images of them safe back in Israel, but as you can imagine, everyone here is holding its breath for that. Still, their well being comes first, they're being taken to a hospital first, to see their families, and only then (and based on whatever they prefer) will there be anything more public. There will not be interviews, however, 'coz something they say might risk the other groups of hostages meant to be released in the upcoming days.
Hamas is also releasing some of the Thai nationals they've kidnapped (I heard 12 of the 23 taken hostage), which are being let go of unconditionally. Before anyone tries to make out this shows Hamas is humane, I'll just point out that Hamas terrorists murdered at least 33 Thais on Oct 7.
Some of my fave commentators recently on what's going on here since Hamas' massacre aren't Jewish, or even Israeli. Here's a few of their tweets:
Regarding the last one, I just wanna say that most Israelis will continue to trust most Arabs. That's just how we have always lived, despite the on going terror attacks. The day after Oct 7, I mentioned that I went to my hospital treatment. The guard there is an Arab guy. He carries a gun. I couldn't help but think about it. And then I did what I always do, I thanked him for his work (being a guard is difficult), and wished him a good day. He smiled big and wished me the same. He's lovely. What Hamas did on Oct 7 is not his fault. But the mistrust of survivors, and some of those who care about them, is also very human and understandable, as much as I'll continue to call on everyone not to generalize about Arabs, or any group.
Especially when some of Hamas' victims are themselves Arabs. Here's a young Israeli Muslim Bedouin woman, who has been speaking up on behalf of her friend, 17 years old Aisha al Ziadna, who was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct 7.
A Sky News reporter was particularly shameful the other day. She tried to use Israel's willingness to release 3 convicted terrorist per just 1 innocent civilian hostage to vilify Israel. Here's the reply she got:
Just a reminder, once again, that when you listen to western media, which is supposed to be objective, these are often their info sources on this conflict:
Speaking of lack of objectivity, an Israeli newspaper found out that the International Criminal Court has appointed a Danish lawyer to investigate the Israel-Hamas war, and it's a man (I'm not sure I'm transcribing his name from Hebrew correctly, but it should be something like Andreas Laursen) who has worked in the past for a Palestinian "human rights organization" which has been outlawed in 2021 for having ties to terrorist organizations, who was involved in 2018 in trying to make the case that Israel had committed war crimes, who has lived in the Palestinian city of Ramallah, and who is married to a Palestinian woman. This Israeli newspaper has contacted the ICC, asking why the person appointed to this investigation isn't someone who would at least appear to be unbiased. The answer was (I'm translating from the Hebrew article): "We maintain confidentiality about anything that pertains to specific subjects that are related to our employees. Every personal decision made by the head prosecutor fits the policy and relevant procedures that oversee the court's human resources matters."
Because there are still people denying the Hamas rapes:
instagram
I've spoken before about Liel, and how long it took to identify her body, but this tweet kind of broke me all over again.

Hey, just letting you know Jack Black isn't a Zionist, Zionism is the belief of Jewish self determination in a Jewish state. Unless he's said anything specifically about that, saying no civilians should be hurt and that Jewish people are afraid right now (true, antisemitic hate crimes have sharply risen) isn't Zionism, and equating that too Zionism is antisemitic and part of the justification for the harassment Jewish people are facing right now even if they aren't talking about what's going on.
It's good to talk about what's going on, but a lot of stuff is drifting hard into antisemitic dogwhistles and conspiracies and Jack Black should definitely be called out for his support of Autism Speaks, but not for saying Jewish people don't deserve hate and expressing concerns about all the civilians and the hostages. It might be helpful to talk to some Jewish folks about it too, even if you don't agree with them.
Jack Black is using the language of Zionists and that is worth criticizing.
1. Calls a literal GENOCIDE “nuanced and hard to understand” which is used by Zionists across the world (including my own country, which supplies Israel with tank ammunition) as an excuse to not call for a ceasefire.
2. Only talks about the images of kidnapped Israelis and attacks by Hamas, not a peep about the *well documented genocide* (doesn’t even use the word).
3. Calls Hamas terrorists - completely ignoring the 75 year long occupation, displacement, imprisonment and murder of the Palestinian people. (It’s ok when white people fight back against oppressors, but not when it’s Arabs)
4. Talks about the rise in antisemitism, but not the continued unaddressed and actively deadly Islamophobia.
These type of posts never focus on the deaths of the Palestinians and heavily criticize Hamas instead of Israel, despite Israel being the aggressor for decades. Yes, rising antisemitism is absolutely a problem and yes it’s the Israeli government that is to blame, not Jewish people. We know that. However that’s no excuse to be this incredibly one-sided and tone-deaf. Not when the Palestinians have been facing ethnical cleansing by an apartheid regime and are now on the brink of obliteration by both starvation and unimaginable amounts of violence, all while the world watches and supports it. Jewish people and Israelis aren’t the only victims here. Ignoring that is simply unacceptable. Jack Black is downplaying Palestinian suffering.
And I know what Jewish people think about this "war". I know Jewish people see this and call it an inexcusable genocide - that Israel started this long before October 7. You know how I know? Because they come to protests and make their stances clear. They aren’t afraid to speak up. This isn’t a Jew vs Muslim war, it never was.

How to be a good ally for Jews as a Christian.
I need to preface this that I’m writing this as a non-denominational Christian, and I’m not a church pastor or a scholar in Christian and Judaism theology. This essay is compiled from a variety of sources, including through discussions with Jewish friends and mutuals on Tumblr, and is written towards Christians as a whole, regardless of sect.
I have to thank @jewishlivesmatter for inspiring me to write this, and @cree-n-jewish-thoughts and @chicocabs for looking through this piece.
It's a fact that a majority of Christians support Israel. Especially the American Evangelicals and self-proclaimed "Christian Zionists". It's likely that you, like me, have been raised to support Israel as an integral part of the Christian faith. Your church would have at some point claimed that Christians have a deep "spiritual and cultural" connection to the Holy Land, and hence we have a moral obligation to support Israel. But, unfortunately, being a supporter for Israel doesn't necessarily mean being an ally for the Jews.
Why do you support Israel?
First, question yourselves: why do you support Israel? Is it because:
"you want the Jews to all be in their ancestral homeland to facilitate the final holy war where they die in the rapture" or
"Jews deserve to be able to live safely in their ancestral homeland and the sole Jewish state"?
If your reason is the latter, then congrats! But it's only the first step to being an ally.
The former reasoning is particularly very concerning and likely drummed into you during your Christian upbringing. You probably heard of “a holy war to end all wars”, and only the Jews and others who accept Jesus as their savior will survive. In fact, it's likely you heard of these from the teachings of Revelation and the end of days.
That is actually core to the ideology of "Christian Zionism", which, by the way, is very different from "Zionism". Despite what others are now saying about Zionism, Zionism is a movement by the Jews to establish and support a homeland (Israel) in historical Judea, or today's Palestinian region. On the other hand, Christian Zionism is basically a duty to support the State of Israel because of its supposed role in the end times – Jesus’ return to Earth, a bloody final battle at the end of days, and Jesus ruling the world from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. And all of that would come at the expense of many Jews (and Muslims) in that “holy war”. In this scenario, war is not something to be avoided, but something inevitable, desired by God, and celebratory. In return, those who support Israel would be blessed by God.
Doesn't that sound very familiar? It's very much like how some Islamist “Jihadists”, like Hamas, Taliban and Al-Qaeda, would call for a "global holy war" against "infidels". But this time, it's on the opposite end of this "holy war", as the Republican Party of America and their evangelical supporters rally to support Israel out of mere political and religious duty. Given the way how many right-wing evangelists acted and justified their actions "in the name of God", it's no wonder you might have heard criticisms of how they're no different from the terrorists the US fights against.
I'm not saying you are a right-wing Christian fundamentalist like the evangelicals. But you need to look into yourself and question why you support Israel. So, if you support Israel because it would facilitate a holy war and the return of Christ, then you aren't a Jewish ally. You only see the Jews (and Muslims) as pawns and sacrificial lambs.
Antisemitism in Christianity
You would be surprised, but yes, antisemitism exists in Christianity. The next step to being an ally for the Jews is recognising the antisemitism that remains inherent in the teachings of Christianity. No, I'm not saying you should renounce the Christian faith to be an ally. Being a Christian doesn’t make you inherently antisemitic. But it's important to discuss and acknowledge the antisemitism exist in Christianity, and what to do about it. So, let me discuss the two common antisemitic tropes in Christianity: Jewish deicide and Christian supersessionism.
Jewish deicide
Jewish deicide is the theological position that the Jews are collectively responsible for the killing of Jesus (i.e. "the Jews are Christ killers!"). Thankfully, this is no longer in the doctrine of many mainstream sects I know. However, I need to address the root of it, how it came about, and how Christians used it to justify massacring Jews throughout history.
You probably have read the Gospel of Matthew, which, while serving as a bridge between the Old and New Testaments by tying references to many Jewish traditions, was very critical of the Pharisees and often highlighted the conflict between the Jewish community and Jesus and the Apostles. At the end, we know Jesus was betrayed by Judas (one of his disciples), hauled to the religious courts and condemned to death for blasphemy.
From Matthew 27:24–25, the Roman governor Pilate, when he gave the approval for Jesus' cruxification (given according to the gospels, the religious leaders could not execute Jesus without the Romans' approval), he washed "washed his hands in front of the crowd" and claim Jesus' death was the responsibility of the Jewish mob. This then became the foundation of the "Jewish deicide".
There is an entire debate among historians whether or not the Jews even had any involvement with Jesus’ death, particularly because Jesus was cruificed, which was exclusively a political punishment by the Romans ruling over Judea at the time. Even if the Jews were marginally involved with Jesus’ death, he would have just been stoned based on religious charges alone. In fact, the Pharisees and the religious leaders were shown bringing to Jesus an adulteress and asked Him whether to stone her in John 8:1–11 (where Jesus proclaimed: “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”). If they didn’t have political power to execute people for religious crimes, why would they still bring her to Jesus and challenge Him about it? But it’s not my place to further debate, and I shall link Rootsmetals’ blog essay on her perspective: https://www.rootsmetals.com/blogs/news/no-the-jews-did-not-kill-jesus
Of course, you might say, we aren't now blaming Jews as a whole for killing Jesus! It doesn’t matter who killed Jesus! It's part of God's plan for Jesus to die! Still, claiming or emphasising that the Jews had any degree of responsibility for Jesus’ death was the excuse used by various church denominations and communities to seek revenge against Jews as a whole. And that began a long history of Christianity antisemitism, from the crusades to the spread of blood libel against Judaism, and it was only very recently when many churches reformed their attitudes towards Jews. Heck, it was only in the 1960s when the Catholic Church rescinded the teaching of Jewish deicide.
We need to realize the depth or history of the deicide libel and the impact inflicted upon Jewish life and history. In honesty, it wasn't any better to even pin any blame on the selected few Jewish religious leaders at the time. It's still an element of Jewish deicide that the Jewish leaders forced Pilate and the Romans to have Jesus crucified, painting another antisemitic narrative of Jews being corrupt, "hypocritical" and "stiff-necked" religious leaders. This wasn't unique to just the Gospel of Matthew, by the way, but generally how the Jewish religious leaders were described at the time in the New Testament, which shaped our negative perceptions towards Jews and Judaism as a whole.
Christian supersessionism
This brings me to the topic of Christian supersessionism. To begin with, I suppose you all heard of the Prince of Egypt, right? Of the Exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt. Now, many people would say the movie is based on a Christian story. Unfortunately, if you think that, you are wrong. It's still first and foremost still a Jewish story. In fact, to the Jews, the exodus took place thousands of years before Jesus was even a thought. Yes, yes, we know the Old Testament is part of the Bible and hence they are also an essential part of our narrative.
But hold your horses and take a moment to understand the Jewish perspective of Christianity. To them, we misappropriated and rewrote their texts (the Tanakh, or what we call the Old Testament) to line up with our unauthorized sequel (the New Testament) and universalised bits of Judaism to preach our religion to everyone else. We all love to pat ourselves on the back, to think we are enlightened and earned our way to Salvation through Christ, while the Jews remain in their "backward Kosher ways" because they didn't believe Jesus was the Messiah.
In fact, as a whole, Christianity is supersessionism. We claim ourselves to have superseded the Jewish people and assumed their role as "God's covenanted people". That we, Christians, are now people of God and replaced the Jews as their chosen people. This, by the way, has been used to try convert Jews by force en masse to Christianity, especially what the Catholic Church did to Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. We have seen such sidelining of Jews even in literature, like Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, when Shylock the Jewish banker was eventually forced to convert. And there are also a great deal of theological jokes which are inherently antisemitic.
This is despite the fact that even Jesus claimed he came not to abolish the Law but to fulfil it. In fact, Jesus as a Jew continues to commend those who teach the Law accurately and hold it in reverence: “Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:19). We Christians consider that Jesus came to embody the Word and to fully accomplish all that was written. Through his fulfiment of the Word, Jesus obtained our eternal salvation. That doesn’t necessarily render Judaism and the Old Testament as no longer valid.
It still remains a debate in Christian theological circles whether the Mosaic Laws still apply to us, which parts of it, and so on. Paul’s letters have not been very helpful as he doubled down on Christian supersessionism, saying that a believer in Christ is no longer under the Law. It has also been argued that if the Law is still binding on us today, then it has not yet accomplished its purpose – it has not yet been fulfilled.
But in the end, as far as the Jews were concerned, the Tanakh was written as a historical record of their people, and was never intended to be used outside of its intended cultural and tribal context. On the other hand, we had rewritten and misappropriated their texts and practices for our own purposes (as you can also read from the Gospel of Matthew). The Jews did not consider Jesus as the Messiah for a variety of reasons, and to them, as Christ has not come, the Law has not been fulfilled and is still in effect. To us, we might not consider the Law as applicable to us under the new convenant by Jesus.
I suppose, however, we put the theological debate to a stop here, and recognise we have differing perspectives on whether Christ has come. We still need to recognise the idea that Judaism has had its entire belief system misappropriated by us, and then Jews have been punished over and over for daring to adher to Judaism and claim their history as their own, and we treat them as fools for refusing to submit to our religion.
So, what can we do?
If you managed to reach to this part, then I say you have made another step to learn about the inherent antisemitic biasedness in Christianity. Again, however, this essay is not for you to disavow Christianity and that we should all convert to Judaism to be an ally, but to recognise and reconcile with the fact that not only have Christianity long been (mis)used to harm Jews, but that antisemitism exists in Christian religious texts.
(And yes, I know you would be tempted to say: but Islam does it too! But it would be the case of ‘the pot calling the kettle black’. Every movement has its inherent antisemitism, and Christianity is no exception. This essay is more about how Christians can be genuine allies for the Jews.)
We need to recognise that we Christians are privileged. In fact, we are the largest religious group in the world (including Catholics and so on) at about 2.4 billion, which is about 30% of the world population. On the other hand, the Jews are a very tiny friction. Ever since our mass conversion attempts, pogroms and the Holocaust, they only stand about 15 million people, half of whom are in Israel. We also don’t speak for the Jews, nor should we speak over their concerns.
Nevertheless, even with numbers, we need to stop thinking of Christianity as the superior religion over Judaism, that we must convert all the Jews into Christianity so that ‘they would be saved’ like us. In fact, it would be greatly offensive, since it had been source of intergenerational pain and grievances among Jews towards Christianity as a whole. To proslethyise to the Jews is basically eroding their identity, like how we have done by taking their culture and practices for our own ends.
We also need to assume good faith when they express curiosity of the Christian faith and want to know more, but bear in mind the previous paragraph: the point is not to convince but for them to understand. Never come down their throats about how Judaism is "outdated" or debate about the Law or the Tanakh. In fact, this generally applies when talking with non-Christians about our faith. We should keep an open-mind and welcome questions about our theology. Even if we don't have all the answers (like the Trinity and the Holy Spirit), it’s fine to say we don't know.
Most importantly of all: Treat the Jews as fellow people worthy of respect. We shouldn’t be using Jews as vehicles and tokens for our own ends – that would be exploitative and dehumanizing. At the end of the day, if we believe their God to be our God, that means they are still God's chosen people and they must be respected. We shouldn't dismiss them and their religion which we claim to supersede.
I also recommend, if you have the time, to research further on Jewish culture, history and traditions. I suppose some of us would have acquired some basic knowledge because of the Passover and so on, but we also need to acknowledge and understand what we had taken from the Jews, and what those practices really mean to them.
Ultimately the main points are: acknowledge the inherent antisemitism within Christianity and treat the Jews as people to be respected, not as pawns of a holy war.

Hi, you are aware 99% of ppl condemning the colonizers are also condemning past colonization yes?
I condem the settler state of Israel. i conem them for what they have done to Palestine,i condem them for how they treat holocaust survivors.
I condem them for using the genocide of their ppl as a reason to cause genocide.
I condemn them for Bombing hospitals full of the sick elderly frail and young. Saying that a building AT OR BELOW SEA LEVEL can have tunnels. (Fun facts we all have “tunnels it’s called SEWWERS)
You know that they have indiscriminately killed off some of the oldest CHRISTIAN bloodlines yes? Because your savior, the prophet son of god, Jesus was a Palestinian. A middle eastern man. So Ofcourse his first followers, and their descendants would be living in Palestine.
Jews and Muslims and Christians lived and coexisted in PEACE for millennia. And then Israel was formed as a way to get rid of the Jews from Europe in a “humane” manor. As a way to put a western agenda in the Middle East.
I condemn what Jesus would condemn.
And this is not to say I’m gungho Hamas. But if you were constantly being curb stomed. Killed starved imprisoned. You too would get to a point where you would consider violence.
It's amazing how you guys manage to get literally every single fact wrong. It's ok not to know things or not even to know everything, but to know nothing about a cause you are advocating for? And more than that, every single claim you make is false? That's inexcusable.
"I condem the settler state of Israel."
They aren't a settler state. You don't know what a settler state is so you should not use that term until you can do so correctly.
"i conem them for what they have done to Palestine."
What have they done?
"i condem them for how they treat holocaust survivors"
How do you think they treat them?
"I condem them for using the genocide of their ppl as a reason to cause genocide"
You are a massive fucking hypocrite. You acknowledge their people are under threat of genocide without condemning Hamas for trying to genocide them and then you condemn Israel for a genocide they aren't even guilty of.
They are not causing genocide and you're pretty rotten to condemn them for a genocide that's not happening while you refuse to condemn the genocide that you admitted was being attempted.
But I guess you don't care when it's a genocide of Jews, huh?
"I condemn them for Bombing hospitals full of the sick elderly frail and young"
They didn't do that you moron. Hamas, the terrorists you simp for, LIED. That is a verifiable fact.
"Saying that a building AT OR BELOW SEA LEVEL can have tunnels"
lmao glad to see you condemn Israel for this but not Hamas for lying, attempting genocide or using children as human shields you ignorant little terrorist apologist.
"You know that they have indiscriminately killed off some of the oldest CHRISTIAN bloodlines yes."
Prove it.
"Because your savior, the prophet son of god, Jesus was a Palestinian. A middle eastern man. So Ofcourse his first followers, and their descendants would be living in Palestine."
Jesus wasn't Palestinian you ignoramus. Palestine didn't exist. Jesus was a Jew.
"Jews and Muslims and Christians lived and coexisted in PEACE for millennia"
That's bullshit. Muslims have been starting wars with Jews and Christians since they came into existence.
"And then Israel was formed as a way to get rid of the Jews from Europe in a “humane” manor. As a way to put a western agenda in the Middle East."
Again, that's bullshit.
"I condemn what Jesus would condemn."
You don't condemn what Jesus would condemn because you're lying about a country and people under attack and supporting their genocide and Jesus wouldn't do that. Don't use the name of Jesus to try and justify your filth and lies. That's blasphemy.
"And this is not to say I’m gungho Hamas. But if you were constantly being curb stomed. Killed starved imprisoned. You too would get to a point where you would consider violence."
You are gungho Hamas. Everything you accuse Israel of doing to them they have done to Israel and you justify their unjustifiable violence and then lie about Israel. What Hamas does to Israel on the daily is magnitudes worse than anything Israel has ever done so shame on you for standing behind them and lying about Israel to justify the slaughter of Jews. Hamas is lucky to have a moron like you at their disposal to spread their lies and anti-semitism for them.
If Hitler was alive right now you'd be kissing his ass too.
You got nothing right. You are a liar. You are just a nasty, repulsive person who hates Jews and supports terrorism and genocide.
So, from the bottom of my heart, fuck you.

i'm tired i'm too tired to keep approaching people individually and i'm kinda done. i'm just gonna say this publicly once, please read this. the situation over here rn isn't about palestinians fighting for their human rights and freedom, if it were i would support it. the attacks on israel are by a terrorist organization named Hamas and you're more than welcome to look them up-their ideology is: number one that they see the muslim people as entitled to the land of israel/palestine (which i am not going to argue about, i don't agree nor disagree on that i quite literally don't care about that conversation), and number two that they need to kill jews. i'm not paraphrasing that's in their literal "covenant"- again, look it up- that they strive to kill all jewish people and see it as their obligation to do so. i hate this country and its government with every fiber of my being and the things israel has done (and still does) to palestinians are absolutely horrible and condemnable. with that said, the attacks rn aren't about that. they're not by palestinian citizens, they're by the terrorist group known as hamas. they do things that could not ever be done in the name of fighting for human rights or self-preservation. i am critical of israel but 1,100 innocent israeli civilians are dead since saturday. some are people i know and care about. so many were kidnapped and tortured. this IS complicated and you SHOULD educate yourself proparly on the matter before speaking and yes before reblogging random posts too. your opinion is your own but you must have the proper information before preaching it.
reblog this, don't reblog this, i don't really care anymore. but i had to say something.
#i swear to you you do not want to know what they are currently doing to israeli citizens. it is horrifying. if you do want to know you can-#-google it at your own discretion. or you can ask me and i'll tell you but it really is so so awful. i do not recommend it.#and mutuals: PLEASE AT LEAST TAG PALESTINE. THANK YOU.#israel#palestine#i love how in my introduction post i say that i don't speak politics. i didn't want to and i still don't want to. but-#-there is no escaping this.#i do think this is important information that a lot of people don't seem to have so i do think yall should reblog this. but do whatever-#-feels right to you obviously.#.....anyway#netalk

hi, since you asked genuine questions here's a few explanations:
on oct 7th, hamas broke into israel and murdered, tortured, raped, and kidnapped over a thousand people. it wasn't just a little event. it was the largest slaughter of jews since the holocaust. and it wasn't just jews that were killed, it was arab israelis and bedouins. if you want to learn more, I recommend watching "screams before silence" it's free on youtube BUT huge trigger warning for graphic descriptions of rape and torture. there aren't actual pictures/videos of the rapes in the documentary but there are many eyewitnesses and victims who share their stories.
https://www.screamsbeforesilence.com/
secondly, the term "zionism" doesn't mean what most non-jews think it means. it is a movement started by and for jews, and it is the belief that jews should have a nation in their ancestral homeland (israel). it doesn't mean that all palestinians should die, it doesn't mean that israel needs to solely be jewish (ethnostate). israel is extremely diverse with many different religions and ethnicities, it just has over 50% jews making it a jewish state in the same way that most countries are christian or muslim etc.
gaza, in contrast, has 0 jews since 2005 when israel left gaza.
hamas is a terrorist organization and has a very strict "education" system mostly consisting of teaching children how to become martyrs and shoot guns. palestinians learn from birth to hate jews and israel. hamas's entire ideology is built on jew hatred. for that reason, it is extremely hard to get a ceasefire because hamas keeps rejecting it. bibi netanyahu, who I don't personally like, has agreed to most ceasefire deals, but hamas hasn't. that's why the war is still going on. and let's not forget, hamas still holds many israeli hostages captive.
the reason jews don't feel safe in queer spaces is because currently leftist queers do not acknowledge these facts. they create "anti-zionist spaces" on campuses and in their own communities. 90% of jews are zionists, so when you're anti-zionist, you are inherently antisemitic. anti-zionists have vandalized synagogues, attacked synagogues, raped jews "for justice in palestine", stabbed random jews, and worse. people shout "globalize the intifada" which really just means "globalize genocide of jews".
the fact that so many queer people refuse to believe us when we say we are in danger, say we deserve it even, is why jews don't feel safe in queer spaces. most of us are fine with a state of palestine, but we don't want hamas as their leader because they are a terrorist organization with a goal of killing jews. jews have been a part of so many liberal movements (a black jew founded blm, many jews stood up for gays during the aids crisis, etc) and are still rejected because of backwards misinformation. our problem isn't with palestine or palestinians, our problem is with ignorance and hate that so many leftist spaces are now full of.
if you want to help jews feel safe in queer spaces, acknowledge their pain, acknowledge that hamas is bad, listen to jews when they talk about this conflict. so many queer and leftist ppl treat this conflict like a fandom, it's crazy and disgusting. most of them only learned about this conflict through social media a year ago. listen to jews and don't exclude us from your spaces just because you are too arrogant to look at the other side. that's literally all we're asking.
some instances of anti-zionism being violent and antisemitic:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-67145473
https://www.france24.com/en/france/20240619-french-teens-charged-with-anti-semitic-rape-in-attack-condemned-by-political-leaders
https://www.jns.org/anti-zionism-is-just-antisemitism-misspelled/
https://www.axios.com/2024/01/10/antisemitic-incidents-hamas-israel-attack-2023-adl
thank you for asking, and thank you for reading.
Thank you for the answers. I was worried people were going to call me ignorant, which I admit I am up until now, and is exactly why I want to learn more about something I never really looked into more deeply because of the various opinions on all sides making it hard to decypher anything objective. It's hard to believe how terribly queer spaces are treating jewish people. Which is not to say I don't believe you. Quite the opposite. I am just shocked. Thank you again

The insurgency of terrorism glorification on tiktok is quite disturbing to me. I've previously seen slideshows of jihadi john (mohammed emwazi) circulating again and I think that's crazy. This dude is a literal ISIS war criminal who beheaded christians on video for the public. Then again, terrorist groups are known to spread their agency online by making violence look appealing, even commercializing it.
But are we forgetting that these groups are the reason why many people in muslim communities suffer prejudice? They perpetuate stereotypes through rebranding concepts initially made for peace and re-introducing them as acts of hate, especially toward demographics like Americans who don't quite have the care to research about communities like islam.
Even those who aren't muslim but came from pre-dominantly muslim populated countries are also affected. jeez, I was even flat-out called a "terrorist" because I come from the UAE. During 6th grade, I couldn't count how many times my classmates would joke about terrorism, war, and bombings right in front of my face. It's always the "Allahuakbar!" shit. Do you even know what that means? That's a declaration of faith and thanksgiving, so tell me why you're saying it based on the context of violence?
I'm not even muslim, but at least I have the decency to be information literate and respect people. With your putrid substandard accent and lack of understanding beyond the context of mere violence because you do not have any care on researching about a community just because it does not concern you, your selfish agencies, and childish fun—better to just shut your mouth and never talk again.
Dude, even Jihad. That's the philosophy of struggling to defend Islam and achieve peace. The last resort is militaristic action, which is to PROTECT THEMSELVES. It's not about war. I hate how some see people like us who are from the Middle East, or are arab, or are muslim and immidiately relate us to war. We are not harbringers of destruction. That is merely a small fraction of a population that should not be confused as something that encapsulates and represents us as a whole. We're just like anyone else. We are normal people.
I hate how these terrorists destroy such a beautiful religion and the culture that comes with it and reason out by saying they're doing it to defend their beliefs. Really? Nah man, that's a distorted morbid reflection of your own ideologies at this point.

Y'all I'm scared
I'm not an adult, I am a minor. I can't vote, and my word practically means nothing. Please, if you're a young adult, don't vote for Trump. For starters, Trump will strip people of their careers, leaving many, many people without jobs, or he would change people's jobs to a 'better job' in his eyes (at least that's what i got from the article). Secondly, he's going to make the people that investigate the president work *for him*, and that federal employees have to pass a new civil service test he made (prove their loyalty? I dont know, i didnt see the test). He's going to make a travel ban on Muslim-majority countries to "keep out the terrorists", which not only is racism but if someone has family members in one of those countries, and those family members want to move to them, that'd be *impossible*. He's practically going to brain-wash immigrants to be all-good Americans, to not hate him, to basically call him the best. He's going to end birthright citizenship, so people born of illegal immigrants can not get a citizenship from federal agencies. He's going to end transgender rights, so no more surgeries, transferal hormones or hormone blockers. He's going to make project 2025 continue in it's tracks if he wins, and if that happens, civil servants will be sacked, giving Trump even more power, dismantling the Department of Education. I'm genuinely on the verge of tears right now. I wont lie to you, I'm really young. And that dismantling of the DE means that Trump is going to change the curriculum however he likes, which in turn means kids won't learn about important stuff, they're going to have to pay for their food, (which a lot of families, like mine, can't really afford). He's going to make abortion illegal in every state, and the women/people with female anatomy that have been S/A'd or R-worded won't be able to get rid of the outcome of that traumatizing, terrible situation. It's not good too, since nearly 70 PERCENT of those cases are against CHILDREN 17 AND UNDER. A CHILD BEING FORCED TO GIVE BIRTH COULD KILL THE CHILD. It's so horrible, it's vile. I am sure a whole group of you is nonplussed, and I am too, but I can tell that voting for trump obviously isn't going to end well. He's going to send MILITARY workers out on *PEACEFUL* Protests, which weren't endangering anybody. He said he LIKED WATERBOARDING (I'm assuming he's going to do that to secret agents, stuff like that) and thought that it *wasnt tough enough*, so he likes torture. He's going to make birth control so hard to get a hold of, which sometimes is used to help women with terrible periods that leave them bedridden, and he's wanting to end Planned Parenthood, which speaks for itself, since its not good at all.
That's not even all of it. (Read: https://apnews.com/article/trump-policies-agenda-election-2024-second-term-d656d8f08629a8da14a65c4075545e0f) Please, if this man wins he's going to make America terrible. A living hell for all of us, and he needs to lose. I'm scared; I can't do anything, basically, but I can say this. Don't vote for him, I beg you. He's not going to make America great, he's going to make it a borderline dictatorship. If you think these aren't enough reasons, that's because I didn't cover them all. You can watch videos on youtube, tiktok, anywhere, I think, and there are going to be so many reasons. From an American to another (if you are one or just live in the country), do not vote for trump. I live in a red state, and I am ashamed. I hope some of you will vote for the right person, AKA anybody but Trump.

I've thought about how to say this or if I should but I figured it might be nice to know you're not yelling into a void. I used to be your pretty standard left leaning anti-zionist. I used to always insist that Jewish people didn't need Israel to be a thing and "if they all moved to NYC tomorrow nobody would even notice" because I honestly thought that antisemitism was this ancient fossil that only edgy middle school boys and 4-channers throw around and if the US became home to all the world's jews they could be safe without the need for any further violence. Which was so horrifyingly naive (especially considering I myself was labeled as jewish by classmates for sobbing during documentary about the holocaust and having physical features they thought where jewish) that if I didn't have some pollyanna 'surely everyone is trying their best to be nice' instances in the past I would have thought I had a stroke or something. The antisemitism that I've seen in people I thought where otherwise good and kind individuals post the events of October has shaken the absolute hell out of me. It makes me feel sick to think they where just laying in wait for an excuse to be more public with their hate. I know now that Jewish people don't just need Israel, they deserve to have a place where they can know for sure they'll be safe and that absolute ghouls aren't going to jump out of no-where. Thank you for being so open about what you experience.
the past is the past. you see it now and you were brave enough to reach out, good for you. always happy to hear that non-jews are seeing the absolute bat shit bigotry against jews too.
speak up about it. antisemites keep gaslighting jews by saying we're making antisemitism up. you can make a huge difference just by pointing out things that are antisemitic to people around you irl. on the internet any neo nazi can pretend to be "just supporting" Palestine by sharing blood libel. pictures, flyers and slogans from the anti israel protests are pretty clearly antisemitic not just obviously genocidal about Israelis (jews, and any type of arab living there.) challenge your friends you know want to end bigotry to look for it.
you can start by looking at news paper head lines that are written to unfairly paint Israelis and jews as aggressors and liars compared with literal terrorist groups (especially the houthis and hezbollah who are literally slave traders, like actually kidnapping woman (including muslims and christians et all) and selling them into sex slavery.)

Update post:
During the night, a suspicious aerial object fell inside Israel, a little north of our most southern city, Eilat. At the same time, a senior in the Iran-funded Yemenite terrorist organization referred to as the Houthis, who have targeted Eilat before, posted on his Twitter account on Mar 15, in both Arabic and Hebrew, "month of Jihad." They're not officially taking responsibility for having fired a rocket at our civilians (on top of their on going attacks against global shipping), but they're doing the closest thing to this that they can.
On Saturday, the Jewish day of rest, a Palestinian terrorist had entered a Muslim cemetery in Hebron, and started shooting from it at the Jewish neighborhood of the city. The terrorist was eliminated. He turned out to be an Imam at a local mosque, and a member of Hamas. According to a TV reporter, the terrorist missed by just mere inches a boy who was passing on the street. During and after this terrorist attack, the Jewish residents (much like in other terrorist attacks on Jewish communities, including this recent attempted stabbing attack) were asked to lock themselves in until the IDF is done searching the area, to make sure there aren't additional terrorists still lurking about. The next time that you see anti-Israel propaganda posts about cemeteries, please remember that if Islamists don't respect their own burial sites and the Muslims buried there enough to avoid using these places as grounds for terrorist activity, Israelis certainly are not going to place those cemeteries above defending living Jews.
Following intel that Hamas terrorists have once again taken shelter in the Shifa hospital in Gaza City, and using it as a base for their opereations, IDF troops have entered it, killed several terrorists and arrested 80 others. Again, people who don't want hospitals raided by armed forces, shouldn't use those as a base for terrorist activity. And I have to point out (because I've seen this misconstrued) that hospitals do lose their protection under International Humanitarian Law (IHL) when they are used by militants: "The protection to which fixed medical establishments and mobile medical units are entitled shall not cease unless they are being used to commit acts, outside their humanitarian duties, that are harmful to the enemy." It IS a war crime for terrorists to use a hospital this way. It is NOT a war crime, for a defending army to raid a hospital being used by terrorists, in order to protect its own civilian population from those terrorists.
During the raid on the hospital, an Israeli soldier was killed, 20 years old Matan Vinogradov from Jerusalem. Matan is the 250th IDF soldier to be killed during the fighting in Gaza. May his and their memory be a blessing.
I found Hebrew journalistic sources with pics, reporting on a man who came on March 15 to a pro-Israel protest in Washington with a burner (an actual burner, not a disposable phone), used it to threaten the protesters, and was arrested. I can't find an online English source, because every search I tried to do, gets drowned in how many anti-Israel protesters have been arrested. I don't think I ever feel the gap between what Israelis hear and know, and what the rest of the world does, more than in moments like these, when I can't find a single English source for info that was all over the national news on TV here.
Another one that I can find only in Hebrew news tweets and articles: UNRWA's offices in Jerusalem are seeing a protest from dozens of Israeli demonstrators, who are accusing the UN agency for its complicity in the Hamas massacre. Zaka (whose body bags were used in this demonstration) is the NGO responsible for handling bodies and collecting body parts after Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israelis, including on Oct 7. The protesters said that even though UNRWA has been denounced, it still continues to "operate normally, with its employees continuing their work as they always do, in the building they got for free from the Israeli government."
Did the following vid, about an Iranian American (non-Jewish) artist making a joint mural for Jews, Israelis and Iranians as an inspiration and dedication to all Middle Eastern women, make me cry? Yes, it did. So I'm sharing it.
youtube
This is 20 years old Daniel Peretz.
He was born in South Africa (where most of the Jewish community is descended from Eastern European Jews, who were fleeing pogroms), and his family made aliyah when he was 13 years old. He loved sports and hiking, and people talked he would always happily lend others a helping hand. Yesterday, we got the news that the IDF has collected enough findings to determine that he had been murdered by Hamas on Oct 7, and his body is held hostage in Gaza. An IDF rabbi has determined that among the findings, there is enough to hold a funeral, so IDK for sure, but I can guess this means body parts. The funeral is scheduled for today. For those keeping track, what we currently know is that there are 134 Israelis kept captive in Gaza, and at most, 99 of them are still alive. May Daniel's memory be a blessing.
