Mr. Terrific

He a character I hope they use more. Come to find out he's a legacy character too. But never really saw the first one just this one. I mean he is a more intresting character then the first in my oppinion.

One of the smartest people in the world

They did him so scandlous in the tv show Arrow.

I'd say cartoon shows did him justice.

Justice Leaque Unlimted/Justice Leaque Action

Injustice the movie: The movie really wasn't that good felt like cliffnotes. They replaced him with Flash & had him debate with Superman in chess. They seem to forget that they could have used his expereince with the lost of his wife & child just like Superman. Have him connect with Superman on a level.

Ways I think JL members could be introduced/referenced in season three.

Personally I think this one would be the most likely because he's big in popularity and isn't overdone like batman. Barry Allen's Flash, I also feel like his personality would fit the show the best and would compliment their version of Clark very well. I think for him there would be two options one instead of having him in the show directly they have Iris come for an episode to be a rival interviewer to Lois much like Vicki Vale and during some scene in the episode she mentions her boyfriend AKA Barry, or Barry actually comes with her to Metropolis and the episode is Barry and Clark trying to hide their powers from each other and being dorks while their girlfriends compete to be the better journalist.

The second most likely just because he is who he is, is Batman let's be real there's many ways he could be referenced or just put in there

Next is a Wonder Woman where I think they could have a fun little episode of either Vicky or Cat challenging lois to interview her. not as Wonder Woman but as either an ambassador or Museum archivist whichever route they go for Diana. they might not even show her but might just reference it as a reason why Lois isn't in an episode

I'm not too sure if the Green Lanterns do exist because of the scenes with Brainiac so if we don't get him as a Green Lantern they could have Hal Jordan be the pilot that replaces Hank Henshaw since he "died" or at least they could just reference him as a viable possibility but say he's mia (taken by the ring to train if they are still around.)

Martian Manhunter could be in the show already and we just never know so I'll be putting him on my list but I wouldn't be surprised that if he ever does appear he'll just be an already existing character and it's just a big reveal that he's been Martian Manhunter this whole time.

I think the two that are least likely would be Aquaman and Shazam as they already have kid characters so they might not want to have Shazam to make it seem like there's too many kid characters and Aquaman just doesn't appear in Superman media as much

Another fun possibility to introduce several of the Richer characters could be an episode focused on Lex and Slade running Lex Corp where Lex just has meetings with other billionaires and Tech groups (Oliver Queen, Bruce Wayne, Carol Ferris, Ted Cord, Maxwell lord and Mr.Terrific all being people Lex could meet with) in hopes to gain their favor that way he becomes global rather than just stationed in Metropolis. The writers could even have a throw away conversation between Slade and oliver/bruce as foreshadowing for their Dynamics in the future.

Do you know about that one panel where Green Arrow died and Bruce and another hero (Mr.Terrific?) were about to (or did?) cut his corpse open to do an autopsy in the Batcave?

Firstly, I don't know how close Bruce and Oliver are/were but that's fucked up. Secondly, that can't have been the first time he did that (generally, I mean, and not doing an autopsy on a hero specifically). So!

Where and when did Bruce cut his first body open? From who did he learn? An actual pathologist or someone who did that illegally for their own reasons? Did Bruce have to compromise with his morals to even start his study, either because, again, this could be done by someone privately or because he would have to pretty much sit around and wait for someone to die of mysterious circumstances just so he could learn. (His guilt complex for this must have eaten him alive). How prepared was he the first time and did it get easier for him? Had he been in such a dark place at first that he blocked out the horror of what he was doing and seeing and just did it automatically like a robot, only years later recognising how terrible that really was? If it was during his training years (had to be, right?), who the hell let him do this as a teenager? Or did Bruce intentionally lie about his age and got the job because he lucked out and looked older than he was?

And, MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL (to me), did he train his kids in this occupation? I don't mean this in a "Bruce Wayne is a monster" way, but a "Bruce Wayne wants them to be the best of the best and survive an apocalypse and for that to be possible, they'll have to do things like an autopsy" and a "Another thing Bruce Wayne agonizes over: What skill can he teach them with a good conscience and what decision will make him question and doubt himself for the rest of his life and beyond?" way.

(Did someone ever walk in on Bruce leaning over a cut open corpse, slowly reteating, thinking Bruce finally snapped and killed some perp.)

Any thoughts on the second Mr.Terrific?

I like him quite a bit. I'm not super well read on the guy but he feels like a character Jonathan Hickman would have made a star out of by now if he worked for DC, or at least an extremely Hickman-esque set of ingredients. He is not just an omnicapable genius Great Man of science and technology with spiritual or emotional or moral blindspots, but an omnicapable-yet-compromised Great Man who defines himself around an ideal and statement of intent that can clash with the practical reality around him. He quite literally wears on his sleeve his own arc words to be repeated for emphasis.

And there is a bit of a tension in his composition also in that, he wears the most straightforward possible motto taken straight from a Golden Age guy, he's defined one of the purest distilled ideals a superhero can wear ever put on paper, and has an origin about him taking up superhero work as a newfound and sole meaning in his life, but he is not a traditional superhero, he is a Doc Savage kind of guy modeled after the heroes of the bastardverse across the street. Much of his origin is defined around the fact that he is just not operating on the same wavelength everyone else is. He is very much not a bastard, it is important that he isn't, but still, Batman would not get invited to the Illuminati, where as Michael might. He helped form a rip-off of it, even.

But to me he also feels like a character who still needs some work put into him to reach something really great. He's a guy with a killer design and a pretty good origin and sometimes occasionally a cool personality and generally is very useful to have around as a handyman gluing plots together, but who always seems to sit at a weird middleground between Reed Richards, Tony Stark, and Not-Batman that keeps him rather undefined. In his present state he is a plug-and-play character to explain plots as they happen, rather than the center of uniquely interesting things himself. He sits at a middleground now where he is too big to be street level, but he's not powerful or big enough to save the world on his own, so he's forced to fill out the stuff in between usually in mediocre spy or tech guy roles.

On the other hand, that malleability can also be a strong point to him, the fact that you can insert him anywhere from detective stories to scaled all the way up to managing a Justice League. He has legacy baggage but he is not a guy you really need to explain, you can put him in the big leagues and big stories and he explains himself as is. And it seems that people kinda get that he should be a bigger deal than he actually is, that he is open to bigger and better and more interesting things to be done with him, but there needs to be more put into it. He needs his own set-ups. He is a cool design and a cool guy and within those, really cool ideas waiting to happen.

I have been really loving the set photos that have been coming out of James Gunn's Superman and particularly the ones with Mr.Terrific, it's making him click with me a bit more and I think the movie might be what pushes me to outright love him. Given Gunn's statement comparing Holt and the other heroes to workplace buddies, he just makes intuitive sense as a guy who does things with Superman at the weird sci-fi superhero job which they both have whether it's to knock asteroids out of orbit together or deal with runaway super dogs. There is a pretty lovely World's Finest kind of symmetry to them that I really hope to see expanded on.

The Truth about Injustice

I sat upon my Throne, one leg over an armrest. As I stare at the images, shown within the small glass ball in my hand. I can’t stop myself from smiling maliciously. I begin to laugh, and laugh, and laugh before I truly destroy everything around me, I slowly get control of my emotions.

I rise from my Throne and head towards a rack with other similar glass balls. Each one focused on a particular person. Today I have much work to do. A show to put on and people to meet. Just before I head out I start to create my false personality. One that’s weaker and focused daddy dearest’s plans.

Oh! How hilarious it is to me that everyone thinks that Superman becoming a Tyrant was because of Lois and their baby dying. When really it was it was my doing.

I remember that day. As a powerful Empath, how could I possibly forget? I remember the pure joy Joker felt as he succeeded in his plans. I remember the deaths and the pain of the injured. I remember the shock and agony as realization hit everyone. Lastly I remember the feeling of my humanity crumbling. My compassion gone like dust on the wind and my morals no longer standing in the way.

So much had happened that day. Not even my “friends” had come out of it whole. I take moment to remember my so called “friends”. Starfire in particular makes me clench my fists so hard, I begin to bleed. It still boggles my mind to this day. She thought I crumbled because Beast Boy had died. Me?! The one who childishly summoned her own father. Causing the complete and utter annihilation of her entire planet. I felt there deaths! I felt my mother’s death! I was brought to my father’s hellish realm. I was 10! I am a powerful empath and I was 10 years old! It took me 4 years to escape that realm. Knowing and accepting that I would have to deal with my father for the rest of my existence. Did she truly believe that the death of Beast Boy would be the only thing to break me? How dare she! How dare that BITCH believe me to be so pathetic and weak as to crumble so easily. When someone dies around me it’s like losing a friend, each and every time. That day, I didn’t lose one person. I lost millions… I lost Lois too…

The mere thought of everyone believing that I broke over one man. Hurts my demonic pride like nothing else would. Was I truly so pathetic in everyone’s eyes? In Starfire’s? Damn you Starfire! I will break you!!!

Using my meditation techniques. I get my emotions under control again. I take a moment to look around and see the sheer destruction I had caused. Sighing, I take a few moments to repair and put everything back in place. Than I go back to what I was originally doing. Creating my fake personality and focusing on more amusing thoughts.

Once I was free of my humanity. I thought about just destroying everything as father would want, but decided I wanted some revenge and fun first. I mean it’s not like anyone here cares enough to realize what’s happened. Too focused on the explosion and poor little Superman. To ever register the type of suffering an explosion like that could cause an Empath. A quick death is too good for them.

It took a while and even now, I still have to be on my toes . Any mistakes could be the downfall of my plans. It first started with nudges on Superman and Wonder Woman. A nudge of emotion here. A altered memory there and a whispered thought at the right moment. Causing two people, who were originally inspirations. To being a Tyrant and a simpering woman in love. Wonder Woman was easy. Her great ability for Love became her greatest vulnerability. Superman was harder. Not only because of his experience in dealing with psychic’s but also because he was the centre of attention. Any changes done too much or too quickly and his closet friends would notice. As would people like Mr.Terrific and Martin Manhunter. It was also quite frustrating. Especially when I’d come back to find some of my work undone.

As time went on I moved from those two, outwards. Towards the rest of the League and others… Like the villains and civilians. Some like Batman and Nightwing were untouchable because they would have immediately noticed anything strange. So I had to go looking for someone more vulnerable like Damian. He was always an emotional person. Reverting him to his old childish self took some time but was an interesting experience. It ended up giving me a moment too precious to pass up. Causing Nightwing’s death and placing the blame on Damian was immensely rewarding. Especially when it lead to Damian turning on Batman. A “Friend” eliminated and a nuance focused elsewhere.

Thinking over all that I’ve done over the last few years makes me grin and the best part, was erasing Joker. Oh, people still remember the explosion. They even know Joker did it but they don’t remember Joker. It amuses me greatly when I told him what I did. Not everything. Just the erasing part. The look on his face was priceless. I even took a picture and have it hung on my wall.

Yes, it was tough and some would even say pointless but to me it’s well worth it. After all… who would ever believe that poor pathetic little Raven would ever be a real threat. Grinning I finish up and teleport to my next location. I have a show to put on… and a “friend” to deal with. Don’t worry Cyborg. I haven’t forgotten you…

omg okay I hope you don't mind me sending you an ask to explain this, but the terrifics came together after the dark nights: metal event of I remember correctly, and plastic man got stuck in the dark multiverse as an egg for a bit. anyways, mr terrific and metamorpho saved him and met phantom girl on the process, and then all stuck together because some matter from the dark multiverse was keeping them so that they literally couldn't be far away from each other, so they were a team out of necessity in the beginning. they fixed it eventually but stuck around as a team and had a few more adventures. the terrifics comic is actually one of my all time favorites and I'd definitely recommend it, they're the kind of team that gets on each other's nerves, but they do seem to actually care about each other <3

Oh neat!! I love that Phantom Girl is randomly in it??? Like how did she get there?? These all seem like soft-hearted and/or ditzy folks (depending on which canon), and theoretically, having Terrific as a leader is a good way to keep them grounded, focused and in reality.

Like Mr.Terrific is like THE most trustworthy and ethical guy in all of DC. All of them have some sort of trauma, so he's like a kind of positive mental health heat lamp that they can crowd around.

I really wanna read this series. Thank you!

Popeyes just debuted a new chicken sandwich and folks are saying it's BETTER than Chick-Fil-A's. Oh? Let the chicken sandwhich dragging war commence!

  One thing about the Internet is that once something takes off, it goes far and beyond. And folks are losing it over this sandwich and doing the absolute most.  Lines are longer than ever at Popeyes and the online reviews are hilar.

Questions and thoughts that popped in my head after the cast line up for YJ season 3 was revealed Where is Batgirl?? Is she Orcale now?
