Ork mecha are the pinnacle of engineering
Killa Kans and Deff Dreads? Incredible. Iconic. Make your most disposable into a killing machine twice the size of a Terminator.
Gorkanauts and Morkanauts and Stompas? Immovable. Can't tip em over. Gork and Mork are proud. Knights could never since their god is dead on a big gold toilet
The Ork Temple Gargant? Possibly the greatest machine invention to ever exist. Unsurpassed technological innovation. 10,000 Arby's car parks attached to wheels the size of Luxembourg.

Played a little 40k game against a buddy. Me Orks, he rolling Custodes.
I had the worst, worst rolling. Like, fuck.
Despite that, still didn't lose that badly - was something like 64 to 53 in the end. Mostly this was down to me getting very lucky and my (still-unfinished) Morkanaut killing his Telemon (which was also his warlord) and getting two secondaries in one turn.
The Morkanaut survived the game on one wound, and about six of those it had inflicted on itself. It was kept company by a Mega Armoured Warboss and one Meganob. Literally everything else I brought was dead. That's, like, forty-plus dudes.
Still! Fun times.
Taktikal Brigade would probably work better if I'd brought, you know, some units that were actually intended to be used with it, but I ain't made my Stormboyz yet, so...

The new Ork rules seem fun. I haven't been keeping up with everything about 10th edition so I don't know what all the keywords mean but I'm mostly liking all the changes. Here are a few standouts that I like.
Nearly all the vehicles have at least a 6+ invul.
Killa Kans have a chance to start attacking nearby Orks (lol)
Squigasaur is still great but now I think the Beastboss on foot is super killy on his own.
Transport capacity for the Gorka/Morkanaut got increased to 12 which is fantastic.
Flash Git shooting got worse, but I like Kaptain Badrukk's new rules (they gave is radioactive gun an Aura lol) so I'm probably gonna take a unit of them.
Big Mek in Mega Armor can heal dead Meganobz!!!
Deffdreads are still good n stompy
Mek Gunz seem pretty good, especially if you have them behind a Mek Workshop and babysit them with some Mekboyz for +1 to hit.
Overall I'm very happy with what we're getting. I definitely want to try out a lot more units and start fielding more infantry again.

And here we are, the best Bad Moons Morkanaut that teef can buy. I'm really happy with this; the level grit, grime and rust is much further along than all my previous attempt. But my goodness, the amount of time I watched paint dry was ridiculous. All the chipping, the oil and enamel paints needed longer dry times. Not to mention all the coats of varnish to keep the various levels of paint protected from each other.

Here’s the next project.
This month’s paint competition on DakkaDakka is ‘Suns Out, Guns Out’. Hopefully, this guy is close enough.

Gorkanaut/Morkanaut mystery
Hello, I have a mystery I think that needs to be solved.
So I recently started to build my Gorkanaut and before I put on the head I saw that there was a weird slot on the back of the head.
Tumblr media
Looking at the instructions, there is nothing that says why it's there and looking further into the model I found that the same slot is actually on the chest.
Tumblr media
There are 2 little slots by the hole that the weapons/light was maybe going to be fixed in place but changed at some point so they could be rotated.
Tumblr media
The weapons/light that slot in the chest can also be put in the head maybe an idea they had before but scrapped it and left it on the model.
Tumblr media
Would like to know your thoughts and ideas about this.

The GROTANAUT - Complete
Behold the might and the majesty, as my custom Grot army gets a massive power boost in this walking behemoth.
Its the correct height and footprint for either a Morkanaut or a Gorkanaut, and its intended to stand in as either, depending on what I feel like using at the time. The main bulk of the body is a large Kinder Surprise......(what is the correct term for the plastic thing inside a Kinder Surprise?)......thing. From there, every weapon is custom made from plasticard, except for the missiles in the rear rack which come from an Ork Fighta-Bomba. I think. Dug them out of a friend’s bits box.
The side guns still swivel which is nice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not sure if it comes across, but I deliberately made it look like the thing had a drill on its underside, so with the legs as they are is can be used to bore small holes in the ground. At least, thats whay the vehicle was for before a Grot got their hands on it....
Your thoughts?
