hair growth n length retention infodump xx
each hair follicle is connected to a blood supply. healthy blood flow is partially what stimulates hair growth. thatâs why there are so many hair-growth tips that involve increasing circulation to the follicle ( such as scalp massages, warm oil applied to the scalp, or turning ur head upside down ). i used to do the warm oil + scalp massage method n itâs tried + true ! just warm up an oil to a suitable temp, apply to the scalp as a pre-poo, then massage in for at least sixty seconds. but if u can go even longer, that works. do this at least once a day!
edit: i meant at least once a * week * lol but u can do more if u would like. iâd advise a daily massage, with once to twice a week, incorporating a warm oil. x
moisture n oil are key due to the way they keep the hair strands flexible n resistant!!! first of all⌠blk girls⌠idgaf what people say. wash ur hair once a week to once every two weeks!!! a proper shampoo n conditioning are one of the main ways we keep our hair n scalps from being too dry. and blk hair has a tendency to drying out due to the fact that blk people produce less sebum. n bc we tend to have curlier / coilier / kinkier / coarser / thicker hair, it takes more work for sebum to travel down the hair shaft. the drier the hair = the more likely u are to lose hair. so keep it washed n moisturized.
then combine w an oil. this can be ur bodyâs natural sebum production, creams, butters, or oils such as jojoba, coconut, peppermint, tea tree, n olive. đŤđĽĽ without stimulating the scalp, oil wonât necessarily promote hair growth but it does promote length retention ! âan inch retained is an inch grown.â most stagnancy in hair growth is due to the fact that hair is brittle / weak / split. gotta remember that hair is dead - so u gotta be gentle with it to keep it lively in spite of that.
what can help w dryness aside from moisture, deep conditions, n treatments is trimming !!! routine trims make the most difference in the growth of ur hair imo. sacrifice half of a centimeter to an inch in order to retain three inches of hair! itâs a very logical trade off. try to trim around once every 6 - 8 wks. donât gotta be a lot. just depends on ur goal
then ofc, what u consume has a correlation to hair growth. everyoneâs body works differently so figure out what works for u :p
astro vocab
blood flow n circulation is martian
skin ( scalp ) n hair is saturnian
hair loss is martian n solar, due to the bilious nature of those planets. there is a correlation between hair loss n bile production
hair loss is also correlated to saturn, due to saturn ruling over dryness ( dry skin + hair )
moisturization is the moon, and so is sebum
remedy mars n sun by eating foods that promote digestion as well as boosting a healthy liver !!! biotin ( vitamin b7 ) can def help with hair growth as well. abstain from alcoholism. this can help with the bilious nature of those planets
u can also remedy mars n sunâs bilious natures n promote healthy bile production by consuming â healthy fats. â fat is not bad for u !!! itâs actually very important. u just gotta know which fats. use spices. nd use acids ( such as acv ). u can remedy saturn by being vegetarian. if not vegetarian, at least plant-based n try to abstain from alcohol.
remedy moon by doing ur motherâs hair or a matriarchal figure, if the mother isnât present. and vice versa. remedy moon by also using familial hair care remedies - blk girls, that mean whip that blue magic grease n pink hair lotion out every now n then!! embrace tradition ( lol ).
make rice milk hair conditioner for a moon remedy as well - milk is ruled by the moon, and rice is a good moon offering. douse the head in it. fair warning tho, rice water can smell kinda crazy lol so maybe wash out with a good-smelling conditioner. do lunar remedies on a monday :p
trim during new moons. this astronomically promotes growth !!! i advise looking at the sign or aspects too - venus n moon, moon in taurus, moon in cancer, etc are great transits to trim under
i recommend making a rosemary oil. itâs quite simple: u mix essential carrier oils with rosemary - infused oil ( such as avocado ). i personally recommend making ur own hair care. itâs very ancestral n i think being hands on with greenery helps with remedying venus, moon, n saturn. đą
im restarting my hair growth journey - iâve been big chopping since 2019, only allowing my hair to grow long once since then. well, 5 / 6 years later, i quite miss my long hair, so im going to restart and really dedicate time into growing it out
both acts - shedding my hair and growing it back - are v spiritual. i wanted to share what helped me in the past for those who may be interested but also to remind myself how i cared for my scalp, hair, n head. plus, the indigenous urges to wear long ass braids is getting too strong
i last big chopped in august 2024. n i donât really have a picture of that day. but maybe iâll start posting pics of my hair growth. idk, we gon see lol xoxo thank u for reading
w sm love, hoodreader

Now that we know what they use, what do you use as skincare nd everything?
Skincare: Cerave Acne Control Cleanser, Acure Brightening Facial Scrub, Fresh Rose Deep Oil Infused Serum (occasionally), and native sensitive moisturizer
Haircare: Aveeno ACV shampoo, Monday Conditioner (occasionally), and Olaplex No. 9 on my ends when my hair is still wet. I have 2c to 3a hair type naturally.
Good Smelly Stuffs: Body wash usually varies, but rn Iâm using up a Olay Fresh Outlast Rosewater I got for Christmas but my usual is Naturium Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash (it has no scent and lowkey smells bad but it smoothes out my skin lol) Frenshe Cashmere Vanilla Body Mist (I love it. Itâs my absolute favorite scent ever. I buy one every month bc I use it so much), The Sol De Janeiro no. 62, and my deodorant is either Native Coconut Vanilla when itâs colder months (because that shit donât last long AT ALL), or Old Spice Deep Sea and then I use Orange essential oils for my room đ¤đ

iâm usually a fandom girly but iâm also beauty lover so iâm gonna give yâall my best secrets
You donât need any kind of lash dry shampoo. a clear mascara does the exact same job (i use the one from essence and it is amazing)
If you donât want to have a lot of separate products, either for every day or travel, get these four things, a water based lip tint a really good waterproof mascara, smudge proof also works but waterproof is best, a good lip balm or thick lip gloss, and a light coverage tinted moisturizer. Use the water based lip tint as blush, and on your lips, even on your eyes if you want. use the smallest bit and blend quickly with your fingers, itâll last you forever. use the waterproof mascara as usual, but make sure to curl your lashes, it takes 20 seconds and it does make a difference. use the tinted moisturizer all over or as a concealer. iâll use it both ways. and use the lipgloss or lip balm to keep your lips from drying out, because no one wants that.
You can use the cheapest shampoo on the face of the earth, but get a good conditioner. Good does not mean expensive, it just means good. Monday or Love, Beauty and Planet are good.
Styling your hair, whether your heat styling it or styling your natural texture, doesnât have to take an hour. Curling your hair can take under ten minutes, it just takes practice. Donât fault yourself for not getting it ârightâ the first time. What works for someone elseâs hair might not work for yours, and thatâs okay. I use a metal kitchen sieve to dry my curls because diffusers donât work for my fine thick hair.
Learn to style your greasy hair. Not so you can oil train it or try to fix it. Learn to style your greasy hair because sometimes you donât feel like washing it, so know how to feel good about yourself without the help of your hair. slickback buns, ponytails and pigtails are the best for me.
you can follow for more big sister tips đ everyone is welcome here

i have quite a lot of hair breakage from going to bed with wet hair which i am trying to stop doing (i donât use heat), do you have any (preferably affordable) product recommendations that could help with this in the time being?
Yup! So with hair breakage, the big goals are to have a gentle wash routine and to deep condition the hair. In general, you want to avoid shampoos that contain sulfates and opt for products that are designed for damaged hair instead. You also want to make sure that you're shampooing just the scalp, not the mids and ends of the hair. Introducing a deep conditioning treatment and a leave-in conditioner into your routine will also help to deal with the breakage.
The best products for damaged hair tend to be from the Olaplex line, but those can get pricey. So instead, I would try the Monday Haircare Moisture Shampoo or Tresemme Keratin Repair Shampoo, Dove Hair Therapy Conditioner for Damaged Hair Breakage Remedy, Pantene Hair Mask Miracle Rescue Shots, or the tgin Miracle RepaiRx Anti-Breakage Serum, and the Sun Bum Revitalizing 3 In 1 Leave In Treatment.
Other things you might want to consider are:
Getting regular trims: trims can help get rid of split ends, preventing them from traveling up the hair shaft and causing more breakage.
Avoiding tight hairstyles: Styles like tight ponytails, braids, and buns can cause stress on the hair and lead to breakage. Go for looser hairstyles instead.
Being gentler while brushing: Use a wide-toothed comb or a brush with flexible bristles to avoid unnecessary tension on the hair. Start from the tips and work your way up to the roots. If you can, wait until your hair is dry to brush it.
Protecting your hair from the sun: UV rays can damage the hair cuticles, leading to breakage. Wear a hat or use hair products with UV protection (like the Sun Bum 3 in 1 treatment) when spending time in the sun.
Using a silk or satin pillowcase, or putting your hair up in a silk wrap before going to sleep: friction is one of the main reasons for manual damage that leads to split ends and breakage, and a silk or satin pillowcase can help to reduce that friction. This one is $10 on Amazon and has good reviews.
Finally, breakage can be a symptom of a larger problem, such as nutritional deficiencies or an underlying medical condition. If you're working to repair your hair but still noticing a lot of breakage, you may need to supplement biotin, vitamin D, or omega-3 fatty acids or speak with your doctor, especially if you're noticing other symptoms.

Let's dive into the secrets of using Monday Shampoo and Conditioner to achieve optimal results. How to Use Monday Shampoo and Conditioner for Optimal Results Now that you're well-versed in the science and benefits of Monday Shampoo and Conditioner, it's time to learn how to incorporate these exceptional products into your daily routine. This section will guide you through a step-by-step process to ensure you get the most out of Monday's hair care magic. Step-by-Step Guide to Washing and Conditioning Wet Your Hair: Start by thoroughly wetting your hair. Make sure it's saturated from root to tip. Apply Monday Shampoo: Take a small amount of Monday Shampoo and lather it in your hands. Gently massage it into your scalp, working up a luxurious lather. Ensure that you pay attention to areas prone to excess oil and product buildup. Rinse Thoroughly: After massaging, rinse your hair with warm water until all the shampoo is completely washed out. Make sure there's no residue left. Apply Monday Conditioner: Squeeze a small amount of Monday Conditioner into your palm. Apply it from mid-length to the tips of your hair, avoiding the roots. This will ensure your hair receives the perfect amount of moisture without becoming greasy. Detangle with Care: Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle your hair while the conditioner is still in. This helps to distribute the product evenly and prevent knots. Wait for a Few Minutes: Allow the conditioner to work its magic for a few minutes. You can use this time to complete other shower tasks, like shaving or exfoliating. Rinse Thoroughly, with Cool Water: Rinse your hair thoroughly, this time with cool water. The cool water will help to seal the hair's cuticles, leaving it smooth and shiny. Towel Dry Gently: After your shower, gently pat your hair with a clean, soft towel. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this can lead to damage and frizz. Tips for Maximizing the Benefits Now that you know the basic steps, here are some tips for making the most of Monday Shampoo and Conditioner: Consistency is Key: For the best results, make Monday a part of your regular hair care routine. Consistency will help maintain the health and beauty of your hair. Adjust
the Amount: The amount of shampoo and conditioner you need may vary depending on your hair length and type. Experiment to find the perfect balance. Avoid Hot Water: Hot water can strip your hair of essential oils. Stick to lukewarm or cool water for rinsing. Reduce Heat Styling: Whenever possible, minimize the use of heat styling tools. Monday's conditioning effects will help you embrace your natural texture. Maintenance and Long-Term Hair Health As with any beauty regimen, long-term maintenance is vital. Monday Shampoo and Conditioner provide ongoing benefits, but taking care of your hair in between washes is equally important: Trim Regularly: Trim your hair every 6-8 weeks to get rid of split ends and promote healthy growth. Protect from Heat: When heat styling is necessary, use a heat protectant spray to shield your hair from damage. Hydrate and Eat Well: A balanced diet and staying hydrated are crucial for the overall health of your hair. Monday Haircare Promises Luxury Results at an Affordable Price
Monday Hair Care is a brand of hair products that aims to deliver salon-quality results at an affordable price. The brand was founded by Jaimee Lupton, a New Zealand entrepreneur who wanted to create a line of hair products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens and SLS. Monday Hair Care offers four shampoo and conditioner formulas: Gentle, Moisture, Smooth, and Volume, each catering to different hair types and needs. The brandâs products come in sleek and minimalist pink bottles that have become an Instagram sensation since launching in the U.S. in January 2021.
But Monday shampoo review. How do the products perform on different hair types and concerns? And are they worth trying out? To find out, we turned to Editorialist, a website that specializes in fashion and beauty, where several reviewers have shared their honest opinions on Monday Hair Care products.
According to the Editorialist, Monday Hair Care products are effective, easy to use, and smell amazing. The reviewers praised the brand for its clean and simple ingredients, as well as its affordable price point. They also noted that the products left their hair feeling soft, smooth, shiny, and voluminous. Some of the reviewersâ favorite products include the Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, which are formulated with coconut oil, ginger root, and panthenol to boost fine and flat hair; the Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner, which are infused with shea butter, argan oil, and coconut oil to tame frizzy and unruly hair; and the Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, which are enriched with vitamin E, coconut oil, and hydrolyzed rice protein to hydrate dry and damaged hair.
However, not all reviewers were impressed by Monday Hair Care products. Some of them reported that the products did not work well for their hair type or concern, or that they did not see any noticeable difference after using them. Some of the reviewers also experienced some side effects such as scalp irritation, hair loss, or color fading. Some of the reviewersâ least favorite products include the Gentle Shampoo and Conditioner, which are designed for sensitive scalps and delicate hair; the Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, which some found too drying or stripping for their hair; and the Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner, which some found too heavy or greasy for their hair.

Two new members to take up room in my bathroom 𤪠Â
How is it Monday again already? I feel like August has flown by compared to the rest of the summer months! Iâve recently come back from my family holiday, and at a stop in Llandrindod Wells me and my mother snuck into Boots for a nose before heading home. Before I knew it, these two additions made their way into my shopping basket 𤍠I bring to you:
âŁď¸ Soap & Gloryâs Clean On Me Body Wash
âŁď¸ Maui Moistureâs Bamboo Fibers Conditioner for weak + brittle hair
I love everything Soap & Glory, so when my favourite body wash of theirs was ÂŁ4.33 instead of ÂŁ6.50 I was pleasantly surprised and thought Iâd make the most of this small saving for once. Its rose and bergamot fragrance just smells like the epitome of femininity, and I would shoot it into my veins if possible đ
Maui Moisture is probably my ultimate hero haircare brand, so finding their conditioner for ÂŁ4.50 instead of the usually more expensive ÂŁ8.99 I couldnât get it into my basket quick enough! Iâve also used this conditioner before, and my favourite thing about all their shampoos and conditioners is the fact that hydrating aloe vera juice is the top ingredient in their formulas. Perfect for my fine, curly hair! đ
Do you love a bargain? As a university student Iâm always on the lookout for cheaper deals, and Boots tends to have me covered there 𼳠Â
