Miko Peled is the son of a decorated Israeli general. His grandfather was one of 37 Israelis who signed Israel’s declaration of independence. His mother came from a wealthy family of “blue-blooded” Zionists, yet even though she has lived her whole life in support of Israel, she would lament to her son about the unfortunate ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Jerusalem in 1948.
Peled had his doubts about Israel’s occupation ever since its actions in Lebanon in 1982, but his eyes were fully opened after he did a tour of the occupied territories in the early 2000s. It was then clear to him that Israel was involved in what is now an “eight decades-long ethnic cleansing and genocide” of Palestinians. Peled believes that Israel will stop at nothing if given the opportunity to completely ethnically cleanse Gaza and the West Bank; it’s just a matter of when and how. The only thing that will stop Israel, he believes, is if the international community forces it to, by imposing "sanctions immediately".

This is literally magnificent. Miko Peled is a son of an IDF general, and yet, he not only acknowledges the truth, but also expresses it; openly and loudly. IDF - Israel Defense Forces

Max Blumenthal & Miko Peled : Where is the War in Gaza Going?
I have said it before and I say it again: Those two guys. Are. Just. Outstanding.
It's the first time that I see them together in the same room, and they animated here such a thrillingly rich debate. When I listen to this kind of admirable people I can only think of Mahmoud Darwich's lines:
"On this earth there is
Something worth living for"
And there absolutely is. It's Humanity.

Watch Miko Peled show who and what he really is. It isn't pretty. Yes, it's almost a half hour long, but it's a half hour well spent.

'Israeli society by and large stands behind the genocide. They've always stood behind the genocide...Israelis are certainly not the first racist and genocidal society, hopefully they'll be the last.' -
