HANDMADE BY GOD

Psalm 139

 

The TPT version of Psalm 139:14 says, “I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvellously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!”

You and I are custom-made, tailor-made, handmade by God, designed according to His specifications. We didn’t just evolve into what and who we are. You and I are priceless, fearfully and wonderfully handmade by God. We are all created and designed with a purpose. The blueprint of each person is unique—no two human beings are the same. I am unique—and so are you, as created by God according to Genesis 1:27.

God’s power is magnified in the development of human life before birth. Through the divinely designed period of pregnancy, God providentially watches over the development of the child while still in the mother’s womb. In the mysteriously wonderful process of gestation, God saw you and me even in the womb.

According to Jeremiah 1:5, God knew us before we were born. He designed, called, and sent us. Wow! God did not know you merely by His omniscience; He knows all men before their conception and birth, which is not only before their formation in the womb but before the foundation of the world, even from all eternity. The formation of the foetus is God’s act, and what an awesome piece of workmanship we all turned out to be. The formation of you and I is not just our parents coming together, but of God moulding us in His image and likeness.

Our DNA does not play a role in making us; the structure and texture of our bodies, the exact symmetry and proportion of all our parts, their position and usefulness—every bone, muscle, artery, nerve, and fibre—are nicely framed and placed to answer their designed functionality. Particularly the eyes and ears, the exquisite make of them for sight and sound, every part of the human body is full proof of the wisdom and knowledge of God.

The text gives an indication of our value from God’s perspective. He designed us with much care, creating each human being uniquely. No two human beings are the same, even identical twins are different. You are complete in God and an extension of God on earth. His breath flows in our bodies; we are connected to Him. We cannot function alone because all our tomorrows are only secure in God.

Verse 13 is why we should all care deeply about the protection of life in the womb (not to condone or advocate abortion), caring for those mistreated or undervalued by others in society according to Proverbs 31:8-9, and for the elderly and those with terminal illnesses.

Theodora was born on 9 June 1983 at St Mary's Hospital, London.She is the younger daughter and fourth of the five children of the Greek King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie Princess of Denmark.

On 20 October 1983, she was christened at the Saint Sophia Cathedral, London, her godparents being Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark (her maternal aunt), King Michael I of Romania and Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia.

Theodora attended the all-girls boarding institution, Woldingham School, situated in Surrey, England, between 1994 and 2001. After a gap year spent at St Philip's College in Alice Springs, Australia, Theodora attended Brown University where she received her Bachelor of Arts on 28 May 2006 in Theatre Arts, having also attended Northeastern University in Boston.Subsequently, she undertook graduate studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

GOD-KNITTED

Psalm 139:13-16

The TPT of Psalm 139:14 says “I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvellously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!

You and I are custom-made, tailor-made, hand-made designed by God and made according to the specifications for everyone.

We didn’t just evolve into who we are. We were created and designed with a purpose. And our blueprints are like other human beings but not the same. We are unique according to Genesis 1:27.

God’s power is magnified in the development of human life before birth, by the divinely designed period of pregnancy, God providentially watches over the development of the child while still in the mother’s womb; in the mysteriously wonderful process of gestation, God saw you and me even in the womb and according to Jeremiah 1:5, God knew us even before we were born, He designed, called, and sent us.

Wow! God did not know us merely by his omniscience, he knows all men before their conception and birth, which is not only before the formation in the womb but before the foundation of the world, even from all eternity. The formation of the foetus is God's act, and what an awesome piece of workmanship we all turned out to be. The formation of us is not our parents coming together but of God.

Our DNA does not play a role in making us, the structure and texture of our bodies, the exact symmetry and just proportion of all our parts, their position and usefulness, every bone, muscle, artery, nerve and fibre, are nicely framed and placed to answer their designed functionality, particularly the eyes and ears, the exquisite make of them for sight and sound, every part of the human body is a full proof of the wisdom and knowledge of God.

Our text gives an indication of our value from God's perspective. He designed us with much care taken in creating each human being, no two human beings are the same, and even identical twins are different. We are complete in God and an extension of God on earth, His breath flows in our bodies, we are connected to Him, and we cannot function alone because all our tomorrows are only secure in God.

Verse 13 is why we should all care deeply about the protection of life in the womb (not to condone and advocate abortion), caring for those mistreated or undervalued by others in society according to Proverbs 31:8-9, and for the elderly and those with terminal illnesses.

You are unique, beautiful, and wonderfully made like God, quit trying to be like everyone, God was deliberate and intentional in making you male or female, black, brown, or white, tall, or short, thin, or fat, it doesn’t matter to God. To God, you are a special, custom-made, hand-knitted and God-knitted being made for His pleasure. If God made each snowflake, raindrop, and lightning to be unique, and they please Him in all their splendour as described in Job 38, how much more would we please the Lord when we learn to glory in who we are in God not in whom we think or made ourselves into.

No one else can take the credit for creating every human. No one else knows us at the most intimate level. The same God who created the universe Genesis 1:1 also knows the number of hairs on our heads Matthew 10:30.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for knitted me so well according to your patent and glory. May my life always be a pleasure to you in Jesus’s name. Amen.
