In Matthew 25:21, we see these rewards described as praise from God, increased responsibility in the kingdom, and sharing in the joy of Christ. The Scriptures also speak of several crowns which God will give to those who have faithfully lived for Jesus rather than for themselves. The more obediently we have lived for the Savior, the greater will be our capacity to reflect His glory for all eternity.

Our greatest reward will be the Lord Himself. Our relationship with Him will be absolutely perfect, with no sin ever coming between us. As much as we enjoy the Lord on earth, communing with Him will prove even richer and more satisfying in heaven.

What we do in this life will determine, to a great degree, how God blesses us in the life to come. If we live for Him now, we’ll eventually have the privilege of laying our crowns at His feet. May we live each day on earth as an opportunity to invest for eternity.”

Serving Others As Jesus Did

Hi y’all, today we are going to discuss serving others like Jesus Christ did. Jesus is our mentor, so we should to take after Him, and ways of that is how he helped others selflessly<3 Serving others isn’t just about big acts, but about having a heart like Christ in everything we do. We are going to discuss 1. How Did Jesus Serve Others 2. How Can We Serve Like Jesus?

How Did Jesus Serve Others?:

1. With Humility: Jesus washed the feet of His disciples, showing that no act of service is too small (John 13:12-17). He didn’t do things out of getting something back, but instead He did everything to help and love others. We need to humble ourselves like Christ did by doing acts of kindness even if it feels random or scary.

2. By meeting People’s Needs: He fed the hungry, healed the sick, and comforted the brokenhearted (Matthew 14:13-21, Luke 4:40). If we see someone is sick, naked, hungry or homeless etc. let’s help them instead of walking past. These are God’s kids, that need just one person to help them for the rest of the day or week like with a burger or a tent! Whatever someone is needing today, that could be a friend feeling sad, help them to feel better with whatever feels right to you e.g. like a hug<3

3. With Compassion: Jesus noticed those who were overlooked by society and treated with love (Mark 1:40-42). Just have compassion for people going through hard times like depression or sickness. People need people, God created us for each other. Don’t be shy or nervous, talk to the people who are oppressed or ignored by society, they need people like you, even just for a conversation.

4. Through Teaching And Encouragement: He didn’t just heal physically; He also spoke words of life and truth (Matthew 5-7). Jesus healed so many people physically, but He also healed people with his words and teaching. Ministering is so important to speak and listen to those who need God and help. Minister with your heart and the Holy Spirit, instead of aggressive debating just to always be right, because that’s not the right way to minister, Jesus didn’t debate, He ministered from his kind, pure heart:)

5. By Sacrificing For Others: His ultimate act of service was giving His life for us (John 15:13). Sacrifice your needs time to time for the greater for others because Jesus was selfless. He didn’t do things to get things back but He did it for them. E.g. Instead of eating two extra slices of pizza that you don’t feel able to eat because you’re full, give it to the homeless or a person who is working late (at McDonalds etc.).

How Can We Serve Like Jesus?:

• Small Acts Of Kindness: Helping a neighbour, listening to a friend, or simply offering encouragement. Ways of doing this is e.g. hugging a loved one, giving advice to a confused friend, giving a bible to a lost person who seeks help.

• Volunteering: At church, in the community, or anywhere help is needed. If there’s any opportunities available to volunteer somewhere take it, Jesus always helped those who needed it. So help out in the church, pray for people, and just give an extra hand to people.

• Praying For Others: One of the greatest ways to serve is by interceding for someone in prayer. It could be— praying for someone’s physically or mental pain, accepting Jesus Christ into their life, or to forgive their sins. It’s a beautiful idea to ask to pray for people after you preached to them, and even if they say no, you can pray by yourself for them.

• Loving The Unloved: Reaching out to those who feel forgotten or rejected. This is, showing love to the sinners, the sick, the elderly, the poor and the outcasts. If you see someone alone in e.g. school, go join them. If you see an elder struggling to cross the road, then go help them cross. There’s so many people with hidden struggle, we may not see the crying at night, when we only see the funny person who makes us laugh, so let them know you love and hear them.

• Sharing The Gospel: Telling others about Jesus is the most important way for us to serve. So many people today are seeking comfort and happiness in sin, the think it will make them happy and fulfilled but “Jesus is the way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6 NIV). No wonder so many people feel like there’s a part of their heart missing, considering God made us to have a relationship with Him. We will always feel like a part of us Is missing, until we accept God into our life like it was suppose to be in the beginning.

“Understanding Jesus’ Sacrifice” by In Touch Ministries:

“In order to give us His righteousness, the perfect Savior willingly chose to bear the consequences of our sin.”

“In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus repeatedly prayed that “this cup” would pass from Him (Matt. 26:39-44). Christ was staring into a cup of wrath, sin, and judgment that must have made His soul recoil (Isaiah 51:17). According to Scripture, Jesus didn’t just die for our sin; He became our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). The holy, perfect Lamb of God took on Himself all that was vile and dark—and He understood the consequences of taking on our sin.

Jesus had always enjoyed perfect oneness with the Father. But God’s holiness was incompatible with the presence of sin, which is why Jesus felt “forsaken” on the cross (Matthew 27:46). There was never any question about whether He’d obey His Father’s will—the Son would become sin and experience the punishment for it if that’s what was required to save us. So, yes, in the garden, He pleaded for another route to our redemption. However, when the Father made clear there was no other way, Jesus obediently—and lovingly—gave Himself up for humanity.

Jesus Christ sacrificed more than His life. He exchanged perfection for punishment. Our Savior did this so we could be transformed into righteous men and women with an eternal future. No wonder all of heaven exalts Him. And we should as well!”

The Meaning and Purpose of Jesus' Temptations

The three temptations by Satan in the wilderness were not the only temptations our Lord ever suffered on Earth. We read in Luke 4:2 that He was tempted by the devil for forty days, but He was undoubtedly tempted at other times (Luke 4:13; Matthew 16:21–23; Luke 22:42), and yet in all this He was without sin or compromise. Although some have suggested that the Lord’s period of fasting compares with that of both Moses (Exodus 34:28) and Elijah (1 Kings 19:8), the main point is how the Lord deals with temptation in the light of His humanity.

It is because He is human, and made like us in every way, that He could do three vital things: 1) destroy the devil’s power and free those who were held in slavery by their fear of death (Hebrews 2:15); 2) become a merciful and faithful High Priest in service to God and atone for our sins (Hebrews 2:17); and 3) be the One who is able to sympathize with us in all our weaknesses and infirmities (Hebrews 4:15). Our Lord’s human nature enables Him to sympathize with our own weaknesses, because He was subjected to weakness, too. More importantly, we have a High Priest who is able to intercede on our behalf and provide the grace of forgiveness.

Jesus’ temptations follow three patterns that are common to all men. The first temptation concerns the lust of the flesh (Matthew 4:3–4). Our Lord is hungry, and the devil tempts Him to convert stones into bread, but He replies with Scripture, quoting Deuteronomy 8:3. The second temptation concerns the pride of life (Matthew 4:5–7), and here the devil uses a verse of Scripture (Psalm 91:11–12), but the Lord replies again with Scripture to the contrary (Deuteronomy 6:16), stating that it is wrong for Him to abuse His own powers. The third temptation concerns the lust of the eyes (Matthew 4:8–10), and if any quick route to the Messiahship could be attained, bypassing the passion and crucifixion for which He had originally come, this was the way. The devil already had control over the kingdoms of the world (Ephesians 2:2) but was now ready to give everything to Christ in return for His allegiance. But the mere thought almost causes the Lord’s divine nature to shudder at such a concept and He replies sharply, “You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only” (Deuteronomy 6:13).
