Unused "death from electrocution" animation found in the files of the Nintendo Switch version of Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Note that one of the poses Mario assumes is his "victory sign" pose.

As electricity has the effect of involuntarily moving a person's muscles, it is likely that this was intended to be interpreted as Mario making the sign involuntarily rather than being particularly excited or happy about dying.

I watched a YouTuber play this cuz I wasn’t paying 60 for that, but I really liked the cutscenes and the mini Marios to make a little something. I know that dk, Luigi, peach, and Pauline get their own toys in a later game but I like to make up in-game realities so what can I say

30 Years of Donkey Kong ‘94 (1994 to 2024)

I really wish this game was talked about (or even referenced) more often because it’s literally the best classic era Donkey Kong game ever that brings all the elements together into a clever little Action puzzle game!

I miss Junior a lot, I wish they told us his whereabouts since he’s Cranky’s son & the current DK’s father! Just some new artwork of them for memory’s sake will even do! But anyways, I hope you enjoy the art I made as tribute! ✨

There are! There's a sequel game called "Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars" which pretty much has the entire cast in toy form!

Luigi included, of course...

Do you think in the Mario universe that there is someone that Mario won't forgive?

Probably not a character we’ve seen in any game thus far. Mario’s forgiving nature is one of the most consistent and staunch parts of his character. While Mario is often seen putting his differences aside with Bowser or making amends with one of the Donkey Kongs, I would say Mario would likely even have been willing to forgive characters like Fawful or Olly.

That’s not to say that an “unforgivable” character couldn’t exist, one that Mario wouldn’t be willing to see attempt to change or redeem themselves, but I think that it would take a level of evilness or perhaps personal stakes that we haven’t seen demonstrated yet within the games. It’s certainly something I’d be interested in seeing explored in later titles!

In the Nintendo Switch version of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, if the players receive a Game Over during two-player mode, the Game Over screen will show Mario and Toad sitting on the ground in despair.

However, if one of the players then quits and the mode is changed back to single-player during the Game Over screen, then upon continuing only Mario will cheer up and run off, leaving Toad alone as the screen fades out.

Fact: Pauline is Mario’s ex-girlfriend. She was kidnapped by Cranky Kong and, later, by the modern Donkey Kong on several occasions.

She is now the beloved mayor of New Donk City, known for her singing. Although Mario broke up with her, they remain good friends.
