i think sqh does paperwork naked when its hot af or he knows the workload is about to get messy, but for some mysterious reason no one ever shows up when he does it. the answer is that mbj is too awkward to come out of the shadows because holy hell his mans ass is out and he cant stop LOOKING and as for everyone else on the peak he was too focused and someone walked in, saw collarbone, walked directly back out. they knock now. if there's no answer then they don't go in.

Random confession but: A very specific and (relatively) small pet peeve I have is that for some reason most fics exaggerate sqq's obliviousness to a ridiculous point (in canon he isn't as bad as in fics, albeit still oblivious) while at the same time making sqh super insightful??? Bro, sqh was just as surprised that lbh was into sqq. Bingqiu already had their happily ever after going on while moshang was still deep in the misunderstandings territory 😭

anon that is actually a pet peeve of mine too hahaha qwq one of the many, many reason i can't read fics anymore, except for a selected few fandom does have a tendency to either hyperbolize or reduce character traits that don't typically fit the mold or known archetypes.

as you said, sqq is quite smart; his problem was that he didn't expect there to be almost zero homophobia in the pidw world, or that lbh would, of all things, fall in love with him. i mean, WHO expects that??? we as readers know because we have an omniscient pov and we came into the novel knowing the endgame, but the characters don't know!!! it's true that sqq can misunderstand some things, but more than a reflection of his intelligence, it showcases how he views himself in the eyes of others, and that is something that evolves through the novel. like, you have book 2 sqq thinking that self-detonating won't cause pain to lbh at all, and then in book three he threatens lbh with bashing his own skull if lbh surrenders to tianlang-jun (absolutely based of him lmao)

I've already talked a lot about sqq's intelligence so I won't go into it here (also i should go back to work haha qwq) but yes, he is smart and resourceful, but if he lacks information he makes mistakes, and that's just normal. and YES sqh is even more oblivious than him, mainly because he's as traumatized as lbh, and because he didn't expect mbj, a demon, to court him...with demon courting rituals. because sqh doesn't expect anyone to love him or care for him.

SQH is part of an adventuring guild, as are all of cang qiong peak

an ding’s role in the guild isn’t that different from in svsss honestly. they catalogue and organize monster parts, they deliver important materials, perform various labor tasks, and compile all the adventurers’ notes, especially the ones about monster types

there’s an important distinction between adventurer and monster hunter. cang qiong is primarily adventurers. they will always first try to communicate with any monster they find, and only fight them if necessary.

MBJ is, obviously, an ice dragon. he has a full dragon form as well as a half dragon form

Binghe is a werewolf because it just makes sense to me. SQQ spends full moons “managing” his husband. they are already married at the start of the fic. i might write a fic about them in this universe eventually

in the end SQH basically becomes a part of MBJ’s hoard. he visits cang qiong guild sometimes, and he still helps out with an ding related jobs, but MBJ always gets cranky when SQH is gone too long.

MBJ never says it outright but SQH is the most important part of his hoard. obviously.

MBJ and Binghe do know each other prior to the fic, but it’s not super important to the plot

That's not all though.

I'm considering getting back into writing some fanfiction for my current addiction. I have a few ideas, but I would love to hear your favorite ship, crackship, headcanons and so forth!

I'm heavily debating on a few fic ideas:

SY and SJ shenanigans : Disciples? Estranged Siblings? (LBH Sobbing in the bg)

SY as a rogue cultivator, successfully avoiding LBH for most of the plot. (Switch between LBH and SY pov?)

Modern SVSSS, College!! (SJ the prettiest and pettiest of college professors, he doesn't get paid enough for this. Why is his student flirting with him? Why is his student flirting with his brother? SJ might consider homicide as justifiable.)

Modern SVSSS, SY and SQH wake up from their strange dream. Find out Cucumber and Airplane know each other in rl. Ensue chaotic best friend behavior. (In the bg cue, MBJ and LBH handling this with nothing but poise and grace. I'm lying. They're doing the exact opposite. Don't worry, I'm not a monster. LBH and MBJ find their wives, eventually, probably.)

Modern Cultivators! SY and SJ didn't think they would ever run into an actual demon, demons are rare these days. They often face ghosts and spirits. Cue SY accidently waking up a good old Blackened/Sealed Lou Bing-ge. Cue (dun dun duhhh) chaos.

Demon SY? Cultivator SY? Dunno yet, SY in the Abyss. (I read an unfinished fic about SY in the abyss, and I'm obsessed with the idea of SY just absolutely trying to get LBG to speedrun the Abyss, and LBG deciding "Nuh. I'm staying here, with you". I was also considering entire Abyss ancient civilizations because I'm unhinged, and the idea of what used to be sprawling demonic kingdoms in the abyss is beautiful.)

Have you ever accidently married the emperor of the 3 realms? SY did. Now, SJ has to ask YQ for help to save his brother. (Subsequently: You ever accidently end up with a husband? LBG was surprised, too, but he has a system, a way these things work. Just because SY is a man doesn't change anything. LBH now has to make sure his frail husband doesn't die and doesn't get kidnapped by pesky cultivators.) Three povs???? SJ (trying to save his brother and getting pettier by the minute), LBG (thwarting SJ's plans, spying on his husband, general court affiar), SY (fangirling over everything, getting himself into trouble, falling into every wife plot under the sun).

These are just some ideas, some of my favorites that I've been clinging to. Free game, take em, write em if you want. The more fanfiction and content we have, the better!

I've rambled. Oh god. Lemme know your favorite, I'll probably boost it to the front of my list.

Nie Huaisang, Lan Xichen, Jin Guangyao, and Nie Mingjue all reincarnate together into PIDW, and become disciples around the same time as Luo Binghe.

The drama of this is of course enhanced by the facts that NMJ & JGY died "early," but NHS & LXC lived to the end of their natural lives as cultivators, and so some of their perspectives and opinions on events have naturally changed with age. (tfw the passage of time renders you unfamiliar to your once-loved ones)

Eventually they talk about their feelings and reconcile and such, and this ends up derailing the plot of PIDW severely as the rest of the PIDW characters confusedly observe quite possibly the weirdest disciples Cang Qiong's ever seen

NMJ on Bai Zhan, with no clue what's going on because he died first and NHS & LXC haven't told him anything

NHS on An Ding, thoroughly enjoying what's pretty much a vacation to him at this point and possibly running an interpeak illicit goods market (definitely not to distract himself from any of the emotions having NMJ & JGY alive and nearby would be causing him, Everything Is Fine) I haven't decided if he'd get involved with the whole og!SQH and MBJ situation tho

LXC on Qiong Ding, because I feel like he'd see himself in Yue Qingyuan and lowkey hate him for it and I think that could be interesting

JGY on Qing Jing, because he's the objectively the funniest/most interesting character to throw into the mess that is SJ and LBH. The way I imagine it, he's doing the most direct derailing of the plot, because he mostly accidentally gets right in the middle of the thing that is going on between those two

I feel like as I wrote this it became more serious than I originally intended so just know that I'm mentally picturing this like a fic that's interspersed with outsider POV of the 4 of them being completely deranged about eachother

(Also I'd feel bad taking away LXC's brother so LWJ and WWX + friends are busy doing hot girl shit being rogue cultivators. I think WWX should be a half demon so he gets to keep the cultivation and steal some of LBH's protagonist energy. If this was a fic then the rest of the Untamed gang would be perfect to use for side characters during off-peak missions)

Nie Huaisang is having too much fun waiting the two idiots called his shizun and shizun's poorly kept secret of a boyfriend go flailing around on these terribly unromantic dates BUT THE TWO WERE TRYING SO HARD that it was cute. He wonders if he should do something to help the poor idiots out... Should he?

Maybe he should...

(Watch Shang Qinghua and Mobei Jun suddenly have a number of sex pollen accidents over the next few months....)

Lan Xichen would be an old man and a good voice of reason for Yue Qingyuan. Although he's head disciple and a very good one at that (if only because his Big Brother instincts can't be held back and he MUST interfere to help prevent history repeating once more), Lan Xichen has made it very clear that he would never accept becoming sect leader.

Also don't forget Liu Mingyan in the background writing about a 4 person sex orgy. At least, that's her personal theory for why there's so much UNRESOLVED TENSION between these four sus male disciples. And also, because it's fun.

It's even funner when you consider that Nie Mingjue is out of the loop of Cang Qiong stuff even on Bai Zhan because he tags along on so many of Liu Qingge's missions that he's probably spending like 8 months of the year outside of the sect.

(Nie Huaisang gets "assigned" to missions that happen to take place near Nie Mingjue's hunts.)

Meng Yao is Meng Yao and he still craves the approval of Male Authority Figures That Could be his dad. Also Meng Yao still likes to climb up the social hierarchy and power. AKA Luo Binghe growing mushrooms in the corner at seeing ANOTHER QING JING disciple THE SAME AGE AS HIM being given SO MUCH ATTENTION AND APPROVAL by shizun.

Luo Binghe develops a complex over Meng Yao of course.

(Shen Jiu approves of Meng Yao because he understands these characters very well and know how to manipulate (cough kill or injury them physically or mentally) them easily. Plus Meng Yao is actually competent.)

Fic thoughts (crack torture edition)

In my time for torture SY au (for context a fantasy very cracky au inspired by Sleepy princess in the demonic palace, and Princess, it’s time for torture!) it’s not really easy to see LBH’s reactions bc so far i’ve just written SY and MBJ’s povs, but as the author its so funny to imagine his internal reactions???

Like;

LBH looking at captive SQQ for the first time: oh shit he is hot, no Binghe concentrate, he is just another pretty face!

But then SQQ says so blissed out he is in love and LBH is like: oh fuck imso fucked i want to respond to that with im so in love too fuck no

And LBH can see that SQQ despite his state (prisoner) is sticking out for what he believes in, and is not comfortable but he somehow manages to keep looking like an elegant prince that you want to pledge your whole life to?? And he is rumored to be ruthless and unforgiving bit his eyes are so full of expression and his face does this micro gestures that LBH is starting to classify in his head!

LBH: this is so so bad that is good and im really truly….in love! -wistful sigh-

And then SQQ allegedly creates chaos (LBH scoffs, he doesn’t believe this, the man sleeps like an angel!) and goes to sleep for like day and a half, and leaves LBH missing him! He is the demon lord! He should not be watching the clock waiting for an appropriate hpur to ditch work and look at his peaceful face!

But then, he tries to actually woo the man, but he gets immersed in his kindness and his eyes and his soft soft hands and caring touch and his ‘are you sure you are alright?’ Even though LBH is supposed to be his torturer and SQQ should in theory care more for a cucumber and not be! Like! This!

LBH the first day: wel, shit, guess im in love

LBH the second third day: if i do not marry this man my whole life will be wasted and i will be forsaken forever, a shell of my former self and unable to rule, i am ruined for everyone but this man

LBH bu the end of the fic will probably throw a temper tantrum or something to make SY be like: aww this poor poor baby that must be soother with marriage! Or something like that, by this point he won’t even care if he loses the war 😂😂😂

The point is! LBH is here falling completely and utterly while SQQ is trying not to gorge himself on torture food and get a decent sleep schedule so he doesn’t wreck the demonic palace XDDDD

My birthday was this month, so I'm finally sharing this SQH POV version of my MBJ time travel fic, because it was fun to dust off this AU again! You don't have to have read "dreams that had never come true" to read this one, though MBJ's POV makes what's happening much clearer. There are no new plots or events revealed here for this AU, just a revisit to marvel at just how bad MBJ is at communicating, and how hot SQH is for him anyway.
