While I like the idea of this bringing chaos I don't know if having the screen visible and frozen on the Go Home option would make Mobei loose it. Because I'm not sure if he would understand it? Like, we know what that means so to us it is obvious but MBJ doesn't so would he draw the correct conclusion? One of SQH'S eyes suddenly looks funny and there are floating letters following SQH, did someone curse him? What does it mean?

In any case, I like the idea that SQH is unable to see the effects the System left on him. Maybe even SQQ is unable to see that SQH'S eye looks like this, now that the System is broken. But everyone else is able to see this.

And the eye doesn't look just funny, but looking at it makes others either:

Have visions of their original fate in PIDW (not like, their whole life, but you do have a different vision everytime you stare)

Feel irrational fear/hopelessnes/horror (it's so strong that many can Qi deviate or pass out)

Know you are staring at the Creator (and whatever that knowledge entails for each person)

Know what the Creator thinks/feels about you (MANY are left with existential crisis because they now know they are only cannon fodder)

At first I thought this could be completely random, but then I realized that it is better if this depends of SQH'S mood and what he is thinking at that moment.

So if his inner monologue is about how they should respect him because he wrote the world then looking at his eye would make you experience 3 or 4. If he is angry and cursing at the person then 4. If he feels threatened or scared of his life then 2. If he is thinking about the original plot and how different the character he is interacting with is now then 1.

So now no one wants to hold eye contact with SQH now. Except MBJ.

MBJ gets to experience the first 3 once and then he only gets to experience number 4. Because once MBJ knows how SQH feels about him, that he wants to follow him for the rest of his life, that he is afraid of him but still considers him his only friend, that he is God's ideal man and SQH'S favorite person from both lifes, that SQH loves him and would do anything for him that he is obsessed with him and basically only sees him as a person and not just a character then MBJ finally gets his shit together and confesses his feelings/apologizes/kisses him/whatever problem resolution you can think of. And from then on everytime MBJ looks at SQH he only feels love.

Everyone else though is fucking scared of SQH.

Broken System

I love it when the System breaks and gets shut down permanently, but what if it left its marks on its main user? Shang Qinghua won't be able to get out of explaining this even if he really, really wanted to.

god i love mobei-jun's pov for moshang fics... specifically when he is devoted and somewhat baffled but very like idk stable? secure? trusting? makes me love him so much..... its just so comforting.. he's like.. like the lowkey devotion and trust and security is so nice, like.. he's steady, even when he is unsure abt sqh wanting him as a mate, he is just so.. sure of his own feelings i guess? u can count on mobei-jun!! ..i love when its just minor cultural misunderstandings where mbj is just like "well yeah he must see that im here and ready, i just gotta keep proving myself and wait for him to finally accept me back" bc of course sqh must know all this, he's the management and politics guy! authors who write his pov in this way, i would kiss u on da mouth!!

i think sqh does paperwork naked when its hot af or he knows the workload is about to get messy, but for some mysterious reason no one ever shows up when he does it. the answer is that mbj is too awkward to come out of the shadows because holy hell his mans ass is out and he cant stop LOOKING and as for everyone else on the peak he was too focused and someone walked in, saw collarbone, walked directly back out. they knock now. if there's no answer then they don't go in.

Oh, I haven’t read that but I have read other Tossawary fics where he uses that name! I‘ll probably read that one at some point but the word count is a bit daunting :)

I just did a word search in vol 4 and didn’t find Houhua anywhere, though (unless my search is broken haha). It’s a good name though!

I think it would be really funny if the reason we never learn Shang Qinhua’s birth name (as opposed to courtesy name) even in the flashbacks when he’s a disciple, is that he quite simply doesn’t remember it. He was born, gradually got his memories back, and went “ahhh fuck I transmigrated as Shang Qinghua” and that was it. he perceives himself as Shang Qinghua. Whenever someone calls him Shang ▉▉▉ he just kind of spaces out and then goes “wait- huh- that’s me!” Whenever someone asks his name, he stares at them blankly until someone else nearby offers it for him. When he finally gets his courtesy name he breathes a massive sigh of relief because oh god he kept almost saying Qinghua when people asked his name and that would have caused so many problems.

from qinghua's pov, killing is a thing that happens! firstly to survive (there's too many ways to die in that world) and secondly to put this mobei jun on his rightful throne ! he wrote him as the king of the north desert so he will be!! and as much as he might cry and whine about a lot of things i think he's actually a pretty ruthless and effective (he literaly runs the peak of logistic !!) guy who secretly get his hands dirty multiple times or at least second handly through various manipulation of characters and plot knowledge when he knew he had to.

meanwhile it's a pretty normal thing for a demon like mobei jun to kill and show how dangerous he is, it's culture! but he also grew up in a one of a kind family situation where showing weakness (and gods forbid emotions) was out of the question and he probably had to kill or else get killed by his relatives trickery quite early in the elaborate path to the throne.

and even after becoming king he probably faces off quite the number of assasination plots. he and qinghua actually, since the guy became a very public politic figure and basically run the northern kingdom (that and the blatant favoritism that mobei jun shows him which makes him a great target to get rid off) and when holding courts mobei jun definitely makes a blatant example of anyone stupid enough to sneer or look badly in qinghua's direction.

they both are killing people and any kind of creature that get in the way in order to get shit done and most importantly /protect/.

More than willing to hear opinions lol. SQH does not know he's an incubus at this point in the story! (He doesn't learn about it until after he's outed as a spy).

Random confession but: A very specific and (relatively) small pet peeve I have is that for some reason most fics exaggerate sqq's obliviousness to a ridiculous point (in canon he isn't as bad as in fics, albeit still oblivious) while at the same time making sqh super insightful??? Bro, sqh was just as surprised that lbh was into sqq. Bingqiu already had their happily ever after going on while moshang was still deep in the misunderstandings territory 😭

anon that is actually a pet peeve of mine too hahaha qwq one of the many, many reason i can't read fics anymore, except for a selected few fandom does have a tendency to either hyperbolize or reduce character traits that don't typically fit the mold or known archetypes.

as you said, sqq is quite smart; his problem was that he didn't expect there to be almost zero homophobia in the pidw world, or that lbh would, of all things, fall in love with him. i mean, WHO expects that??? we as readers know because we have an omniscient pov and we came into the novel knowing the endgame, but the characters don't know!!! it's true that sqq can misunderstand some things, but more than a reflection of his intelligence, it showcases how he views himself in the eyes of others, and that is something that evolves through the novel. like, you have book 2 sqq thinking that self-detonating won't cause pain to lbh at all, and then in book three he threatens lbh with bashing his own skull if lbh surrenders to tianlang-jun (absolutely based of him lmao)

I've already talked a lot about sqq's intelligence so I won't go into it here (also i should go back to work haha qwq) but yes, he is smart and resourceful, but if he lacks information he makes mistakes, and that's just normal. and YES sqh is even more oblivious than him, mainly because he's as traumatized as lbh, and because he didn't expect mbj, a demon, to court him...with demon courting rituals. because sqh doesn't expect anyone to love him or care for him.

Hear me out, LQG wakes up in SQQ’s body, which, he’s understandably confused about as SQQ is married to LBH speaking of, SY wakes up in LBH’s body, but then that leaves the question-

Where is binghe?

Liu Qingge woke up and knew that something was deeply wrong. For one, his hair was out of its usual sleeping braid, for two, it was FAR too quiet. And lastly, (most importantly) he wasn't in his bed!

The situation is immediately made worse when he hears a deep, rumbling snore from his left. He snapped his eyes open. And was met with a face full of slumbering heavenly demon lord.

He threw himself off the bed with a startled shout, immediately getting tangled in the copious blankets he was wrapped in. The snores cut off into a grumbling yawn.

"Binghe?" the demon himself sat up, eyes squinting and rumpled from sleep. "What..." He yawned widely, showing off a truly impressive pair of fangs.

"What has you up so...." He trailed off finally looking over at the frozen Qingge on the floor.

"...what the fuck?"

Lui Qingge scowled fiercly. "explain yourself beast!!" He spat and watched as the color drained from Binghe's face.

"...no, wait, shen Qingqi?" He asked, pale. Liu qingge scowled harder, finally drawing himself upright

"No. Why would you think-" and then he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror... or rather, shen qingqi.

They have a whole freak out moment, cause shen yuan thinks that SJ just came back from the dead untill he realizes "Oh wait that's lqg,....wait who am I then?... WAIT WHERES MY HUSBAND?!?!??!"

They go to Bai Zhan peak looking for Qingge's body, only to find that it apparently got up in what looked like a blind rage, grabbed a sword and stormed off peak like a rampaging bull.

'Ah,' thinks SY. 'That's where binghe went.' They go to get help, I think SY absolutely takes the opportunity to scare the absolute STUFFING out of SQH.

SY binghe: *growling and being a horrifying demon* "your time is up author- how dare you write me this way you hack!"

SQH: *terrified screaming* "DONT HURT ME- wait hack? Cucumber bro?!?! ;n;"

And then they get MBJ to help look through the demon realms cause binghe isn't on either peak and SY dosent really know where else he'd go, they also presumably get YQY on the search and by default the other peak lords... but that's a last resort as neither SY or LQG want this like.. known.

But try as they might, binghe is unfound and... shen yuan is getting worried. Like actually worried!

At first: 'oh, he's the protagonist he'll be ok'

To: 'binghe??? My precious husband???? Alone??? Without his kisses?!??!? Unacceptable!!!'

Qingge meanwhile is going through perhaps every stage of grief and inventing a few new ones! I headcannon he has a crush on SY, but only like... surface level SY, like post Canon he starts being more himself and the feelings fade for LQG, he deeply values their friendship but at most wants a QPR now.

But he's content being SY's tsundere bestie! But now he's stuck in his body and feeling very.... uncomfy! Also later he finds that whatever caused the body switch is a soul mates thing and he bluescreens because that means he, sy, and BINGHE?! (In my au of this au he's thrilled at this!

However in this au... he's not thrilled, like, he's not horribly opposed but also, not really enthusiastic) sy mentions perhaps platonic soul mates and that eases him significantly
