Yeah it's here!!!! My masterpiece!!! I'm so proud of this, I could actually shed a tear *snif*

So, a couple pointers:

1- Thank you for your patience, this actually took way longer than I expected and the fact that I got suddenly swamped with work did *not* help-but it's here now!! Hope you like it :D

2- If you remember the original piece I posted (the sketch) you'll notice quite the differences here and there. Can you spot them all?

3- One of the reasons this took so long is that the candies were supposed to be all generic when I suddenly remembered there were canonically halloween arcana candies I simply could *not* exclude and keep my self respect. Or the five years of my life I'll never get back from having to edit them in. *Sigh*

4-The costumes are based on the Arcana Halloween Charms. All you Lucio stans I hope you can understand that I simply couldn't in good conscience give kid Lucio the original outfit that his adult counterpart wore. His new outfit is based in his Devil-sona from Muriel's route, hope it suffices.

5- For a moment I was a little bummed about how accidentally overproduced Nadia's pumpkin was but honestly that's such a Nadia thing to happen that I can't help feeling that it fits perfectly.

6- This was very fun to make but I also kinda felt like my soul had been given in sacrifice to the digital art Gods. I'm freeeeeeeee

7-If anyone wants to repost remember to credit/tag me!!! Also if you want to edit your own Mc too just dm and i can give you the clear version with room for them.

Edit: Some stuff I forgot to mention:

8: there's a hidden devil's chocolate in Nadia's pumpkin as a reference to her reversed ending (give those players a reference. Players love 'em references. I know cause I'm a player)

9: Lucio's pumpkin is the only one that isn't super loyal to the original, that's bc at first I drew them all from scratch before learning how to properly reproduce them. I was planning on changing it too but I realized that I accidentally made it look like the ( ͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °) emoji which i personally find hilarious so I kept it.

10: Julian was suppossed to have a pumpkin like the rest but I thought "Julian is totally that drama queen club kid that is COMITTED to the aesthetic and would totally use a bag instead of a bucket since that's what a pirate would use...completely disregarding the fact that they tear easily and lose like half his candy on the way home" (don't worry, Portia made sure to point it out and they Hanzel and Gretel'd their way back to rescuing his pirate loot)

11-Asra got Muriel his costume since he didn't want to come wear one at first

12- Asra's bucket has licorice that both resemble's faust and his parent's snakes. He also got him bread from the baker (everyone else had 2 themed candies and I felt bad for Muriel who only got one)

13- Both Julian and Portia get Mazelinka taffies

14- Mc's bucket has all 6 themed candies that directly reference the love interests- yaaayyy references son

Ok, watched the interview and holy shit does it give a lot of context. It gives both a lot of context with how the seasons and mythics are made along with just the lore in general.

So for those who are not willing to watch the interview here are some thinsg that were revealed lore wise;

Lifeweaver is most likely the leader of Vishkar and MW!Vishkar is a military organization, having to goal of healing the world at all costs. It's also confirmed that MW!Lucio would be working for Vishkar.

It was also revealed in this interview that they played with the idea of Symm switching places with Lucio, which leads me to now having the HC that MW!Sym listens to music a lot of the time and especially while she's working.

Baptiste and Sojourn skins are actually not Mirrorwatch skins but are in the firm ground of "they may as well be". Also it is confirmed that no matter the universe, Sojourn would never join Talon, it's also somewhat implied that MW!Baptiste would just be a version of him that never left Talon.

Winston would be a Junker, specifically a Tinker.

MW!Angela is usually called Vengence and has a negative reaction to being called Angela.

Talon and Overwatch's goals as a whole are still the same but idevidually characters goals has changed, an exmple used in the interview was Doomfists morals being changed to a "the strong protect the weak".

It was also confirmed that yes, Soldier 76 would be Talon and Reaper would be Overwatch, but I still stand by my HC that Jack founded Talon and then retired.

Honestly this interview was such a good watch and not just because I'm obsessed with Overwatch lore. It's also because as a creative myself, a creative actively studying to go into this field of work, it was so interesting to hear about OW's art teams creative process. Not only that but to hear that it was similar to my own was fantastic.

Hi, sorry if this is a weird ask, ans you don't have to answer it if you don't want to. But I've been wanting to write Arcana fics for a while, do you have any tips? Thank you :)

Oh my goodness, I'm honored that you'd ask, anon!

Truth be told, in my case, it's come down to learning how to balance character analysis with personal interpretation and writing style:

For character analysis, I find that doing research and trying to stay fresh on canon content really helps! I usually do that by replaying routes, reading back through all the old ask arcana posts from when the devs were still on the project, and studying up on character profiles. (For example, when I want to do something a little more in depth that involves weaknesses or fears, reading up on their MBTI types to help inform how they process information and emotions.)

It can be really tricky to hold together a character's personality type with their lived experience (a common example I see is Asra's casual relational nature vs. their total commitment to MC) and sometimes it just comes down to what dynamics and moods you want to explore! (Do want some angst around a partner that's never where you're looking for them, or some fluff about a partner that's always there when you need them?)

That leads more into personal writing styles and character interpretations. In my case, I enjoy writing stuff that focuses around growth, healing, humor, fluff, and healthy hurt/comfort, and that's going to heavily influence how I write the characters. (For example, the extent to which Lucio changes as a person post-upright ending and his motives in doing that.) There's no such thing as a perfect person, which means you can stay completely canon to who a character is and still show them as a total green or red flag depending on the situation they're in and which instinct they choose to listen to when they respond. (Like Julian when he's upset - is he going to give you a dramatic monologue about it? Or self-destruct?)

In the end, the best part of being a fan author is that you can write whatever you want to! This is just what I've found personally helpful, so hopefully there's one or two suggestions in here that sparked interest. I also love getting to talk to new people and my DMs are always open so please feel free to reach out if you want to!!
