There's a part of me that will always hold the complicated SBI family dynamic AUs, but I will always find it funny because realistically, the canon divergence would start at the beginning of the Independence War.

When I say "c!Puffychu deserved more" I don't mean they deserved to have the wedding.

I mean they deserved to have angst moments. I mean other characters deserved to know about this relationship forming and how their conflicts got in the way of that. They deserved to reconcile but take things slow because they were both still healing.

I mean they deserved to have a falling out over each others actions during and after Doomsday, and no I'm not just talking about Niki trying to kill Tommy. From Puffy's perspective, Niki ghosted her and everyone, never contacting her until the Red Banquet. From Niki's perspective, this protective but positive woman she fell for has become increasingly angry, betrayed by her closest friends, and worn down by this ongoing war with a cult.

And through all of that, they deserved to remain engaged and that never changing. Still wearing the engagement rings through everything.

They deserved to have a complex relationship that was shown, not just said or in between the lines. c!Puffychu deserved more.

Ok so I actually haven't started drafting this fic yet since I haven't even started writing the DSMP!Tommy in Empires S1 yet, but since I'm on the topic of polls for my fics, a may as well do this.

When I came up with the idea for DSMP!Tommy ending up in Empires SMP S1 I knew I wanted to do an Empires S2 fic along the same lines, just not with dsmp!Tommy. Initially I wanted to do Origins SMP cause that made the most sense but then realised that you could make an interesting story with Business Bay Tommy and SCU!Tommy. So now, once again, and to no ones surprise, I'm conflicted again.

So here's the story ideas for all of them;

Origins SMP Tommy

o!Tommy would either be banished from Origins for starting a cult (Ninjology) or it it just take place after Origins SMP fizzled out and ended up in empires. His empire would be places in the snow-capped peaks biome right above fWhips. I'm playing with the idea of going into how server admins are usually treated as gods or have a godly counterpart, so god in training Tommy? I will also go into the fact that o!Tommy is canonically a father, having Hetta and Unnamed One.

Business Bay/SMP Earth Tommy

bb!Tommy would travel to empires after SMP Earth ended, he would still be in contact with the other Business Bay members and seeing as Business Bay was kind of still standing at the end of SMP Earth I could see this being an attempt to expand Business Bay. He would be placed in a Dark Oak Forest, honestly story wise I don't know what I'd do since bb!Tommy is more of a Fallen Hero type of character, so either he goes on a little redemption or he goes full villain.

Charlie Cinematic Universe Tommy

scu!Tommy would be sent to Empires after scu!Charlie killed him in the 100 days video, he arrives in Empires cured of the infection, disorientated and with amnesia. He would basically only remember up to when Condi sent him to another world the first time so he just thinks this is the world he was sent to. After he doesn't go back in the designated time he starts making a base. When the Sculk Saga hits is when Tommy starts remembering his past and what actually happened in the previous world. He would have a lab focused base along with being placed in a Mushroom Fields biome.

Alright, since I'm doing a timeline poll for this fic I may as well do a hybrid/backstory fic as well.

Mainly hybrid cause I have no idea what to make this version of c!Tommy cause I have many interchanging HC for c!Tommy's past.

So let's get into it;

Was grown in a lab, clone variety. He's a clone of Phil, has the wings and everything. They were damaged after his first life, though he manages to fix them when he gets to Empires. Phil has no idea that Tommy is his clone cause Wil never told him.

Was grown in a lab, perfect boy and hell variety. Tommy was grown in a lab but the reasoning was simplified to being the "perfect boy" but in reality he was made to track the response magic had on the body and his to build immunity, hence his immunity to the Egg. The lab was destroyed but he was found by Eryn's family. This version would be human with a few unnatural features.

Tommy is an orphaned raccoon hybrid who looked after himself until Wilbur found him. This more focuses on the canon fact that we know about Tommy's backstory, along with separate HC's I have like Tommy helping raise Fundy.

Child of Phin Redza. Listen this is mainly me coping with SBI not being canon to the DSMP but also I find it funny and it makes sense that the colorza that is referred to as "gremlin-like" was the one to raise the gremlin child. This is a Devilinnit hc.

Ok so I'm drafting up a canon divergence fic where c!Tommy ends up in Empires SMP S1 and gets to create his own Empire but I'm conflicted on when this should take place. I've narrowed it down to 4 options;

Immediately post exile where Tommy jumps into the ocean instead of a pond and gets swept away by the current.

Some other time during the server that leads to him getting stranded in Empires, like going through a nether portal and ending up in the wrong server.

Somewhere in between the ending of the DSMP and the Epilogue Ending Tommy ends up discovering Empires and is pulled into making his own empire through shenanigans.

Right after the Epilogue Ending Tommy discovers Empires and decides he needs to physically talk to people other then his sheep and the occasional Tubbo visit, so he starts making his own Empire.

All of them have cirtain aspects I want to write about so I'm genuinely conflicted on how Tommy ends up in Empires. Help!

Remember the election that Tubbo planned to do during the New L'Manburg era? The one we never got to see because of the Doomsday stuff?

I don't remember perfectly on who the parties were, just that Niki & Ranboo were the Coconut2021 party and that Quackity wanted run against Tubbo, so forgive me if there's a missing party or if I got the members wrong.

Ok, can anyone tell me where Oswald came from? I have the DSMP world download and next to Tommy's house there's a tank with an axolotl named Oswald in it. Where did he come from? I know there was an Oswald on the OSMP but where did this one come from? I have a little feeling that he might have gotten it from Phil? Where did this boy come from?!

I love how people act like c!Puffy would have been the perfect therapist for c!Tommy when in actuality those therapy sessions would have turned out like this;

Those two had the exact same hero complex and the same trauma's with betrayal. They were the same type of hot mess just in different situations.

And on a completely separate note, if anyone has any fic recommendations-

I wasn't really on the Hannah side of things but God do I hate how Niki and Puffy's characters were, and honestly still are, treated. Either reduced to the caring mother or sister, or made to be "the bitch". Niki and Puffy were some of my favourite characters, hell Niki was the POV I usually went to after watching Tommy's.

I hate how often Niki is replaced and ignored as being a part of the Syndicate, despite it being so important to her character growth. I hate how Puffy's memory loss and family curse are ignored in favour of her being a mother and therapist. I hate how people ignored the fact that Niki and Puffy were engaged.

I didn't watch really long streams back then cause I was in highschool and didn't have an attention span but these two I made an exception for. If I had the patience I would watch the stream in full, if not I would just go to the lore part. I didn't do that with any other members of the DSMP, even with Tommy I didn't really watch his VODs at the time.

Sorry for the rant, I just really love Niki and Puffy's characters and hate that in most of the fics I read they're reduced to one dimensional characters.

Can I also say that often, the women of the DSMP would often get way more criticism than the male creators would get.

We had Hannah getting attacked for saying “sus” in her stream title because she was doing “cultural appropriation” when it had been an internet wide meme for months and many of the men on the server made the same exact jokes. Then when she got upset because she had just been trying to mess around on the server for a fun stream, people accused her of “using white women’s tears” … She got criticized for winning the elytra wings for I don’t even remember what reasoning.

We had Niki cut out of the main plot for months when Wilbur basically just forgot about her character and when she finally carved out her own niche in the story, her character got visceral hate for months because she was playing a role against Tommy and trying to help create conflict for the story. ALSO PEOPLE ARE LITERALLY STILL MISSPELLING HER NAME TO THIS DAY. HER NAME IS 4 LETTERS LONG AND WE ARE THE FANDOM THAT LEARNED HOW TO SPELL L’MANBURG

We had Puffy blowing up Tommy’s house because he took down L’Targay, and then people Freaked Out about it because a few lines had been said about her being his therapist and because his character was still in conflict with Dream, Puffy was being evil to him and apparently no one else was allowed to do any kind of conflict with Tommy because of it. Another time Tommy was stirring up some conflict and stole Puffy’s axe and of course because she didn’t just let him have the axe (which wouldn’t have been good content) she got criticized. Because she was a therapist, if she ever treated Tommy with anything but perfect kid gloves, she got actual hate. We’re not even talking about how her character was SO often just reduced to “caring motherly therapist” when if you watched her for any amount of time you knew that she was chaotic as all hell and nothing like that.

Dude I just wanted to get back into the DSMP cause I wanted to finish my fics, both published and drafted. Why am I back in the trenches? Why are we back in 2020, I don't want to be here.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong or just answer this question but did Tommy know the full context of what Quackity was doing for torture or did he just know Quackity was torturing Dream?

Cause I recently saw the clip where Dream went on the whole rant of "I'm going to make your life a living hell" and I saw that Tommy seemed confused at Dream mentioning that Quackity was torturing him? Less so about it happening and more so that it had an impact?

Like, torture is something that has happened on the server before, it's something that even Tommy himself has done, but it was more so treated as a bit usually. The only exception I can remember other then Dream is Connor. So did Tommy know or find out the full context?

Did he he know it was every day for months? Did he know it wasn't stuff like water boarding but with stuff like axes and shears? Did he know the full context or did he just know that torture was happening?

I don’t think it would have changed much story wise since after Wilbur was revived he didn't really get time to think about shit, if he did I think we would have had a revist to that "Wilbur is worse then Dream" comment Tommy made after he got out of prison. Along with the likely realisation that "Hey, Dreams manipulation in exile was eerily similar to what Wilbur did in Pogtopia", I was so close to getting that when Tommy compared the two during the Burger Van arc.

I know Tommy was aware of it, I distinctly remember Quackity told him, I just don't remember what was said. Did he know the full context, also what was his initial reaction in general cause I don't remember that either and for the life of me I can't find the damn clip.

(Also just for some context, the reason I'm asking this is because I'm writing a couple fics where Tommy's reaction to the full context of Dreams torture is important and I need to know if I need to go more canon divergent then I already am.)

SMPE!Tommy would have sided with c!Dream out of spite for c!Wilbur in the Independence War. SMPE!Tommy would have sided eyed c!Techno whenever he said he was an Anarchist because the Antarctic Empire was a dictatorship. SMPE!Tommy would have absolutely joined Manberg with no hesitation. SMPE!Tommy would have had straight up flash backs when c!Quackity threatened c!Techno's horse.

Buisness Bay could be canon to DSMP!Tommy. Deo, Bitzle and Luke could be canon to DSMP!Tommy. There is no way in hell that the entirety of SMPE!Tommy is the same person as him.

They're both chaotic little shits but SMPE!Tommy makes c!Tommy look like a saint.
