Hi! Are you stilling planning to release your RJ fanfic?
Yes!! It is still something I plan on releasing but right now I'm honestly too busy and I'm not in the write mindset to focus on something I don't have the energy for. That will likely change soon considering Uni is now done for the year so I can now focus on other projects, but it will likely still take a bit of time

Little fanfic thing I drew cause I have no self control.
Tumblr media
This is a Rosie the Sheep design for some fics I'm planning on writing (full explanation below).
Ok so, I write a lot of SBI centric fics, or at least I'm planning to, but with the whole biter situation and the things we are still learning about the fucker, I don't feel comfortable writing his character. As a result for fics that I feel like I need to have a c!Wilbur type character I will be using Rosie as a replacement for that role. Though I'm going to say now that though she is a replacement, she will still be a character in her own right.
I just don't feel comfortable with how closely linked the biter is to his character, especially considering his ending reveals that he was isekaied into the Minecraft world from our world. Combining that and how we know he acted in real life, it makes me feel gross to explore the character in depth in any way. This is honestly a boundary for me, if you write fics you do you with the characters. I've seen people continue to use him and I've seen people replace him, I don't care what you do as long as you don't support the bitch.
(There's also the fact I thought that replacing him with a pink sheep would be incredibly funny.)

Something I noticed when re-watching the 100-days video is that when Charlie pulls out Condi's sword, Tommy seems to recognize it?
He either says "That weapon doesn't fit me anymore" or "That weapon doesn't fear me anymore", both could be wrong since I don't have the greatest ears. Either way Tommy recognizes the sword, for the former it could mean that the sword was Tommy's at one point, likely being from before he was infected or when he broke out of the lab, or for the latter, Condi tried to kill Tommy with that sword in an attempt to stop Tommy from escaping.
Either way I find it interesting.

Was honestly also going to reply with a comment but also realized I had a lot to say on this topic. Also not going to lie, went down a rabbit whole of your content so I could respond to this properly, so hi from a new follower!
That's honestly really fair view of the timeline, I've honestly looked at the timeline as just inherently a mess (consequence of also being a FNAF fan) so I just kind of rolled with what was generally implied by the characters themselves. Especially since scheduling issues happened a lot with the DSMP causing plot threads to take longer or be shorter then they should have. Basically I had the timeline set to what made sense narratively in the vibes of the story. Though I will admit that the way you put the timeline is interesting and makes a lot more sense in the full schema of things, especially for Dreams character.
I will be the first to admit my inherent biases against Dream considering during the DSMP's hay day I was a full Tommy apologist up until the end of the server. Which actually started making me look into Dream's character more critically. Before that though me only watching Tommy's POV honestly informed my view of the timeline, it's been getting better since though since I've started looking at other POV's and the characters in general more critically.
So looking at the timeline through this lens does honestly put in perspective for me on character actions. Especially Dream and Tommy's. I was already going down the rabbit hole of realizing that Tommy's exile and c!discduo's dynamic in general was very situational to what happened during the Pogtopia era. So this will definitely help with my writing going forward, so thank you.

@wildissylupus I hope it's okay if I respond to you in a post, I was going to comment back but it was getting too long (to no one's surprise) lol. :) <3
I mean yes and no, I’m pretty sure in canon there are far more references to the actual date and time than ccs saying otherwise, whether that’s Techno talking about spending three months in prison, Sam in Daedalus taking note of the days, Dream talking about being in prison for almost a year, or even Tommy and Tubbo talking about how it’d been a wild couple years in the finale. There are also the dates preset for the festivals and wars and such that are referenced in lore. Additionally, I am of the opinion that unless it is agreed upon by the majority of the ccs involved that the timeline is different, then it is not. So, it doesn't matter if cc!Tommy said Exile lasted longer, it's not recognized across the board. This is important because every character is affected from these things. It looks far different if your character doesn't make it to visit Tommy in his 11 day Exile than letting him stay exiled for weeks and not checking in. The same goes for age, as again I'd imagine you'd act different around a 13 year old or 40 year old rather than a 20 year old. Age changes dynamics in the same way that time does. George not visiting Dream in 11 months versus years of Dream being imprisoned is very different.
And you may be saying - well didn't you bring up age recently? - Yes, I did, [here] and the reason for this was two things, the first being limbo time dilation (that I was researching for my fic, Musical Chairs) which is confirmed canon by multiple events, and a poster I noticed recently in the Las Nevadas lore [seen here & here], for Quacktiy's 28th birthday, suggesting he is 7 years older than he is in real life. This is interesting because I believe it is the first time that in lore we have information about age vs ccs just saying things on the side. Begging the question whether we are to think everyone is 7 years older, only some characters are, or whether Quackity is just advertising to be older than he is. None of which are particularly satisfying conclusions to be honest.
Anyways, there really is no great reason to think that time was different, especially as it becomes problematic to other people's lore and events, and I don't remember an in canon reference to it being different, unlike Quackity's bday poster within his actual lore. However even if things like Exile were longer, than I think it's most reasonable to say everything is longer so the ratios and percentages I determined comparing the time frames would stay the same regardless. So for example: if Exile was a month long instead of 11 days, then Dream was in prison for 28.5 months or 856 days, or 2 years and 4.5 months, meaning Exile is still only 3.5% of Dream's incarceration.
(And yea, 11 days does seem pretty short but it really was just from December 5th to December 16th when he leaves. One of the reasons I think it might feel longer than it is, is perhaps because he streams everyday, so the influx of hours of content makes it seem longer.)

What I always found irritating and hypocritical of the exile arc is that immediately after c!Tommy was exiled c!Quackity, c!Tubbo and c!Fundy started making plans to straight up kill c!Techno. Like Tommy greifed George's house with no intention of taking a canon life, while the Butcher Army did have that intention.
Cause all three of them gave Tommy shit for provoking Dream by stealing from George and burning a couple blocks of his house. Which was fixed in the stream after in under 20 mins and Tommy was given the actual appropriate punishment of being greifed back. Then immediately after that punishment of exile is given they start making plans to kill Techno.
And while yes, Quackity and Fundy disagreed with the decision to exile Tommy, that doesn't negate the fact that they still gave Tommy shit for it. When at least Tommy had the knowledge and experience to know that Dream could be overpowered, there was no evidence of that with Techno and as we see with the Butcher Army, Techno can't be overpowered like Dream can. This is also something Tommy knew cause I distinctly remember him saying that he did want to go after Techno but could right now cause he knew they would loose (though I might be misremembering).
At the end of the day, do I think this would have mattered? Do I think the outcome would have changed if Tommy wasn't exiled? No, Tommy was likely already spiraling after Wilbur's death, and if Niki is any constellation on how New L'Manburg acted in that regard, I don't think anyone would have checked in on Tommy regardless of exile. Tommy's downward spiral was an inevitability no matter what happened with exile, Dream and exile just sped the process up. I also don't think Tommy's reluctance to immediately go after Techno would have changed that outcome either. It would have at best lead to Tommy not being informed of the situation and ending up in a similar situation to Ranboo, or at worst Tommy also being put under house arrest cause he tried to stop them from making a very obvious bad decision.
Though none of this is to say I hated this arc, in all honesty I think it's a good example of how the different perspectives of the characters affected them. Tubbo, Quackity and Fundy all had mainly negative interactions with Techno and Techno never got the chance to know them outside of L'Manburg's government up to that point like he did with Tommy. Honestly I may be of the opinion that a lot of things would have changed if the plot happened differently but Doomsday is one of the only circumstances that I think were unavoidable.
I just wish the hypocrisy of the Butcher Army happening right after Tommy was exiled was addressed at some point (If it was addressed though please tell me cause honestly don't think it ever was).

Since I'm being dragged back into this fandom I have something I personally believe and want to share;
c!Tommy is a lot more of a ranger archetype then a rouge archetype (which is a common trope I see and even one I wrote myself) and I wish he was treated more as a survivalist by the fandom. Yes he has an affinity for stealing, but I personally argue that his affinity for nature and animals is a lot more important to his character.
(If anyone has any fic reconandations where Tommy is basically a ranger and is competent at being one, please send them to me)

The fact that most DSMP epilogue fan art depicts cTommy looking like cTechno and cPhil makes me so sad yet so happy, cause that is the best ending for him.
He was always expected to end up like cWilbur, then later there was the threat of him turning out like cDream. That was what the other characters expected, that's what other characters saw, but no. cTommy ended up like cPhil and cTechno.
And he's not happy, not yet anyway, but he's getting there.

One of the things that got me crying was the realisation that the reason c!Tommy visits c!Techno's house the most is likely because that's the only place he truly felt protected. Both Techno and c!Phil protected him from c!Dream when no one else would. Despite everything it's the one place on the main server he feels safe in, the one place he wants to remain untouched and protected.
And that really hit me with a fucking gut punch.

A rebooted DSMP finale in 2024 wasn't something I was expecting but God does it make me feel things....
The DSMP was a big part of my life and was a big comfort for me during lockdown. It will likely always hold a special place in my heart. It's the thing that got me back into reading with its fanfics, it made me so many friends that even if I'm not close with anymore, they will always be a part of me, and even altered the way I write my own stories on a fundamental level.
Even though I didn't have a big problem with the previous ending, I do prefer this ending. It leaves a lot open ended so the fanbase can continue, but is also fully final. The previous ending was made with a season 2 in mind and I think that hurt it, I understand why it was written that way. This ending was far better in my opinion and gave closure to a lot of people, including me.

Genji: That's fine, I'll just share with Angela
Reyes: Yeah it's fine, I have other things to worry about
Moira: Sell the commander

wouldn’t efi only be like 14 by now in the timeline? how did they allow her to join overwatch 💀
I believe Efi is 12-13 in Overwatch 2 since Orisa was made pretty quickly after Doomfist was broken out of prison.
As for her stance in Overwatch she's likely only going to be helping with the tech side of things, fixing things in the Watchpoint that are broken, setting up firewalls, stuff like that. I don't think they'd send a child that young onto the battle field. She will likely be an Oracle type character with Orisa being the one on the battlefield.
Also I do think that usually no one in Overwatch would allow her to join but considering Overwatch's state right now combined with the world's state, they are likely forced to make an exception with literally all of their technical experienced members being on the field.
It's also hard to argue when Efi created Orisa, something that is an actual threat to Doomfist by herself, actually beat Doomfist with Orisa, Lucio, and a drama class with no casualties or grievous injuries, and is single handedly defending Numbani with robots she made to be assistant robots in the matter of a few minutes.
But again, the world is basically in the process of ending so they kind of need all the help they can get.

Just watched a playthrough of Rot in Paradise and holy shit. People have started coming to me for critiques on Australian characters (mainly overwatch), their writing and designs, and that is Australian rep done right!
Starting with the character designs, I have seen variations of all of those outfits on people here, not only that but the designs all communicate where the characters are actually from;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carmen, McCoy and Vonnie are all from an urban area, likely a city. The characters never change clothes during the game so I'm going to assume these are their swimming clothes. All three of them are actively wearing swimwear covered by things you would typically wear to the beach if you aren't planning to immediately change clothes afterwards. Not only that but they are wearing a lot nicer clothes then June and Ryan, they are clothes specifically bought for swimming. Not only that but you can tell the they are from different cities or at least different parts of the same city, Carmen is more inland, her coat is think and the way it falls communicates that it's not really made from beach safe material, it's also very obvious that her swimmers are underneath her clothes and are not just her outfit. Meanwhile with McCoy and Vonnie they live more costal, they're outfits are made for the beach, McCoy's actively being just his swimmers. Vonnie is a little more complicated but though she is wearing clothes over her swimmers, they aren't the same as Carmen's. Vonnie is wearing loose fitting clothes specifically designed for the beach something that can easily be tied on and off again.
Meanwhile Ryan and June are dressed more rurally. Ryan can't swim and is implied to be afraid of the ocean, which communicates to me that he's from somewhere that is pretty land locked. That and his clothes are something I've seen worn by Aussie farmers (Aka my dad) wear on their days off, that and his tan lines indicate that he's in the sun a lot, possibly in an old button up considering where his tan lines are. Not only that but his drinking habits and taste in beer are very rural Australian coded. While June is dressed more as a person who grew up rural but has moved into a city later in life, she's wearing old looking shorts with a belt on them which signifies that they're not going to be taken off to get in the water, while her top is an actual swimming top and she's wearing a beach top over that, both look in good condition and fairly new. There's also June's dyed hair which is honestly common for people who grew up rurally to do once that move to a city. Also Ryan still living in a more rural area would also explain why his hair does seemed dyed but is a lot more faded and less maintained. In all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if June and Ryan grew together considering the similar dye jobs and the way June greets Ryan at the beginning of the game.
Also THANK YOU studio investigrave for not making all the characters white, it's such a common problem when people are writing Australians or Australia in general that they make everyone white. It feels so gross to me when I see that.
Next up in the language used and holy shit was the dialogue well written, "mate" was used in the correct context, "bloody hell" and "dickhead" where the most used slang and that is fully correct, Ryan bringing an esky (cooler, as everyone else says) full of beer on a vacation is such a relatable experience to me. In general I felt seen by the way that characters talked and acted, which is rare when looking at Australian characters.
Also the story involving the environment as the horror, and the environment explored being the water is so important to me. Australia is dangerous, but when that is explored in media it's usually just the outback. Meanwhile the bush and our oceans are usually never touched on, despite them being just as dangerous. Not only that but they used the theme of isolation without using the outback too, which again, is very rare for me to see.
Anyway this game was great and is going up there as one of my favorite games.

I'm sorry, when was someone going to tell me this existed?! Where was this found?! Also thank you for writing out what the letter says cause holy shit I wouldn't have been able to read that otherwise, truly a life saver.
Anyway, Orisa and Efi are officially with Overwatch and are staying on watchpoint Gibraltar!
Tumblr media
To: Fola Oladele From: Efi Oladele Subject: Greetings from Watchpoint: Gibraltar! I can't believe we're really here! The dropship Sojourn sent for us was actually way scarier than anything I could imagine, but the watchpoint is… incredible - it looks just like the old holovids, and speaking of that team, I've met so many familiar faces: Reinhardt, Winston, Tracer… I was almost too nervous to introduce myself, but luckily Orisa had no such trouble. At first we weren't the only newcomers - a lot of really amazing people from all around the world gathered to join Overwatch after the Null Sector attacks. Oh, I almost forgot the best part. Lucio is here, Mama! You should have seen his face when Orisa and I walked in. I think he was even more [surprised?] than me! He gave me the some new albums to send home - he signed everything too. When you see Hasana and Naade, please share these with them. (You might want to wear earplugs, though - their screams could deafen even Sound Quake.) This is everything I've ever hoped for, Mama. With the Junies keeping Numbani safe, Orisa and I can […] everywhere we're needed (and judging by the […] Winston is running on this old base, I think my talents are very needed.) Maybe we won't solve every problem overnight, but I'm excited to help where I can. It's like you said: if Orisa and I can make the world just a little bit better, that will be enough. I have you and Dad to thank! I know I'll have lots of stories to share when I come home again. Love, Efi PS: Orisa says she [misses?] you too!

Ok so with Mirrorwatch Ana I know it's probably more likely that she's called Arch-Commandment because she's inner circle and incharge of a substantial group in MW!Talon, but I would honestly find it kind of funny if it was actually because it's poking fun and refencing that Ana was an Overwatch Strike Commander at some point in this universe.
Mainly cause everyone kind of says that Ana would have been a better Strike Commander then Jack, so if the universe where she was Strike Commander was also the universe where she turned evil would honestly be a little funny. The story itself would tragic as all hell don't get me wrong, but the concept is a little funny.
