Okay so yesterday last night I watched The Last Unicorn and of course cried my little eyes out soo... Overwatch characters and how each of them felt after watching The Last Unicorn!

Could I get some of the older Overwatch members (Ana, Reinhardt, Soldier) just comforting reader because they need to know they aren’t a terrible person. Please. <3

She watches as you rest your head on her shoulder, a heavy sigh escaping your throat.

"Take it easy." She reassures, hand grasping yours, thumb gently circling your knuckles.

"Am I a bad person?"

Her movements freeze, her mind reeling with thoughts on how to answer. "A bad person?" She repeats. "Of course not, sweetie. One mistake doesn't make you a bad person."

"But after-"

"Shush. You are not a bad person. I do not want to keep telling you that." She brings her hand to wrap around your shoulder. "Mistakes are a part of life and one small one doesn't mean jack. You may feel deep down that you are, but I, along with many others, can tell you that you're not."

"Ana..."

"My dear, you are one of the bravest people out there. Despite all the odds against you, you are still pushing. You're still going forward. You are still strong." She presses a kiss to your head, hand rubbing up and down your arm. "Don't let one thing change how you feel about yourself. You are worthy of being loved."

Large arms encase you, your tears already soaking through his shirt. No matter what you would say, he wouldn't let go, he wouldn't let you free yourself. Effectively, you were trapped in a tight embrace.

His heart thumps heavy, calmly soothing you from the onslaught of tears.

"There, there." He coos, hands rubbing up and down your back. The warmth was almost suffocating.

"I just want to believe I'm not a terrible person."

Reinhardt chuckles, chest rumbling against your cheeks. "You are far from it, my dear. Why, you are just the greatest."

You can tell he's trying, though consoling isn't exactly his strong suit.

"Just the other day you were so bubbly, so full of life! Just because one insignificant issue occurs does mean you should hate yourself." He loosens his grip, hand coming to your chin to lift your head up to face him. "You have never been a terrible person, at least, not to me!"

He watches the smile creep onto your face as he brushes away a tear.

Reinhardt hums softly. "You must love yourself against all odds otherwise I will just have to love you twice as hard."

He sits across from you, the meeting not yet begun. It was just the two of you in the room, a tension swirling in the air.

"What's up, kid?" Jack finally breaks the awkward silence, watching as you look up and then to the side. "The mission went as well as it could've done."

"I hurt them..."

"No, you were doing your job." He straightens in his chair. "If it weren't for you, things would've gotten ugly."

"That doesn't change how terrible I feel-"

"Kid. Listen to me." He leans forward, hand reaching for yours. You pull back, not wanting the physical contact. His heart aches at the sight. "Do not let this get to you otherwise you will bury yourself under it and you do not want that." He takes a breath, watching you. "It will hurt for a while but know that it's over now."

You muster a nod, looking down at your hands clasped together on the table.

"It's over. You're still here. That says a lot. Trust me, kid, we need you."

Overwatch Self-aware au

This post is part of a larger post I have on my blog about how cool Self Aware Au is. It includes an Overwatch fic rec and other fandoms such as; Linked Unviese/Legend of Zelda, Mortal Kombat and Love and Deepspace. In that post, I mention ideas I have for my own fics and this is the post!

Important note: this idea is at the somewhat beginning of the process. As I have the plot form and the scene below is a rough draft from chapter 2(?). My work could change and this is still a rough draft. Please, be kind and enjoy!

Pairing: Hanzo x Reader - original, the idea is to have it as a reverse harem but I love Hanzo. So I'm still unsure of having a reverse harem with Hanzo being the true paring or solely focusing on him. Idk yet

Plot: Important note, this isn't a proper self-aware fic. It's more of the reader somehow getting into the word of overwatch, in a classic fanfic trope. But the idea I have is wanting to have the line of reality in each world to be very blurred, similar to Virtual Reality fic.

With how the reader existed in both words, with all the characters having memories of reader and it's acknowledged that the reader has a history/ a past. So when the 'you' reader, the cool gamer, falls into overwatch. It creates this mystery element of how you got there, who this other 'overwatch you' is and where is this 'overwatch you' currently. But also, how do you get back home?

(NOT A YANDERE PLOT…unless? jkjk)

Anyway, Reader will learn slowly that they've always been apart of overwatch and are a highly ranked solider. Only appearing as a hologram due to a 'injury' and not because you're home playing behind a screen. As some reports of past battles are erriely familiar to some game plays/states you got from past games in OG Overwatch.

The plot will then follow the overwatch 2 game flow and comics(?) as reader adjusts to now having to physically be in the battle field and actually talking to the characters and with them talking back to you. Instead of the reader just reacting to voice lines.  As some of the games' voice lines are what they said to the reader. Along with some of what the reader says word to word is what the characters hear. Or what the reader says will be translated differently to what the characters hear. again, blurring the line.

What's the end plot? IDK I barely have chapters 1 and 2 done ;-;

Scene: the moment you realise it's not a dream

“Now with that out of the way,” Ana shifts the topic, turning to look at you with a nod. You give her a soft smile, relief flows through you. Why dream such a stressful moment when you’re in the perfect set up in a dream? (hanging out with Jack, Ana and now Cassidy) Now, we can get this show started!

A sudden yet swift painful smack to the back of the head effectively stuns you. As your mouth drops open in pain, you can faintly hear Jack’s and Cole’s surprise protest at Ana’s actions. You bring a hand to the back of your head and the moment you make eye contact with Ana, she lifts a finger to signal your silence. A motherly disappointment radients her that pauses any complaints you have.

“Enough with calling me mommy or Milf!” She scolds you, her voice firm and steady. 

You’re shocked frozen. Eyes widen in an innocent naive that matches a child being punished when they believe to be untouchable. There’s no way. Faint memories of you calling Ana that, especially with her Captain Amari skin when playing Overwatch float by until they get smacked out of your head by another hit. This time, more gentle. 

“Same with daddy.” Jack gruff voice adds, turning away from you. His words earn a disappointed sigh from Ana while Cole struggles to contain his laughter

“Honestly, (Y/n), your flirtatious nature knows no limit.” Ana softly scolds but this time, it holds no sternness. She’s not covering her amusement as she chuckles at your still shellshock expression. She looks at you with a nostalgia fondness, it’s so good to finally see you in person. After so many years of working together and the painful silence that stretches in between when the communication system connecting you to Overwatch shut down with Overwatches recall. Many nights have she ponded on your status if you have made contact with the others or with Pharah. If you ever healed from your injuries.

But now seeing you, witnessing the conversation flows as old friends reuniting. Feeling touch by your actions of bring Jack to his sense. There's no doubt that Ana feels grateful to having you here. She is almost amused of finally getting to teach the flirt of the team a lesson. It was harmless and she won't deny that she was secretly amused by the name-calling when she was younger. But now it’s time to put a stop to it. 

“It's alright sweet pea. You can call me whatever you like.” Cole drawls out as he places his arm over your shoulders, bringing you into a very comforting side hug. As flattering as the hold is, you’re completely blank towards them. Mind still processing that you feel pain and still standing before the three heroes. Meaning that you’re very much awake. 

Holy shit I'm awake. What? Why?! And how did they hear me simp while playing the game?! 

Struggling to accept that you are here. Truly and without a doubt, outside and far away from home. Stuck with characters that somehow know and heard your voice simp over them!

You’re not sure on how to react. The feeling of nervous bubbling in your chest and the need for a private room to break down builds of your rapidly shifting oertective on whats real. But also...the need to find a nice hole to climb into and die from embarrassment. Because not one, but two people ask you to stop simping at them! 

You let out a weak groan as you lean against Cole, said man simply laughs at your expression. You nod your head in shame yet accept the request. Apologise and promise to not call Ana or Jack that as your little group begins to walk towards the plane. Looks like it’s die of embarrassment now, external crisis and mental breakdown later.

To be honest when Jack first saw you he was a bit concerned by your reckless attitude

He really only liked you because their teammates seemed to enjoy your company

He kept his distance though

Jack felt weird about you but he couldn't place his finger on what made him feel off

Y / N asked Winston to run some DNA tests to find his family

Jack hadn't known about it until Winston told him the results

He was taken aback to say the least

You on the other hand really didn't seem to care. You we're really only looking for your parents and siblings if you had any

Jack was at first confused about this whole mess. Was it luck or was it someone playing a trick on him? Trying to makw him go soft?

Seeing Jack was ex - military and his relationship with TALON he felt off and was more distant than before

He avoided you like the plague

After the denial of everything he started to accept very slowly

Acceptance came with anger

'How could anyone do that to a child?' He'd asked Winston and Tracer multiple times

Slowly his anger did end up fading into nothing but loving dad energy

If you couldn't have a good dad he'd tried to fill the spot

Once Jack finally opened up to you and tried to have a relationship instead of just being a complete bitch and avoiding you and anything to deal with you he promises to protect you with his life

Jack lets you have the childhood you wished you could have had as a older teen / adult

He may be a little bit of a helicopter parent due to your dumbassary but he's trying to just be good enough

Once you do have a stronger bond he's very cheesy when you're alone or around teammates

He'd tease you about anyone you dare look at

Jack would also spoil you rotten

Anything you wanted, he was going to get you

Over all, he grows to love you like a son and supports you through everything

Okay so on TikTok I've been hearing the sound of Courage the cowardly dog which is the "Untitled sad song" So it got me thinking...which Overwatch heroes would watch Courage. Since I know damn well me being small kid made me scared/love that show so much. Which also taught me life lessons because of Courage...Love that pink lil dog TvT
