Explaining my thoughts on Bedrock Bros is so hard because I can never figure out how to convey the similarities between them while also make the differences really clear

Because what kills me about them is how they were both simultaneously trying to use the other as a weapon and trying to form a genuine relationship, it's just that cTommy was primarily trying to form a relationship while incidentally to turning cTechno into his weapon, but cTechno was consciously trying to turn cTommy into a soldier/anarchist/terrorist while subconsciously trying to form a relationship

Because both had enemies they needed to destroy, for revenge and self defense (again, balanced in opposite amounts), but both were also desperately lonely and latching hard onto anyone who wasn't trying to hurt them

And to me, cTommy was doing it all in the way a scared child does, needing the nearest safest adult to protect them, while being a bit oblivious to the adult's needs (because that Should Not be a child's responsibility, but still leading to selfishnesses), and cTechno just doesn't understand the way children work or hold any extra patience for children (probably he wasn't given any as a child, and so just sees kids as smaller adults because that's how he was seen as a child, I would assume) so between that and all his own issues, being unable to be vulnerable with others, and also generally being unable to see himself as fallible or in the wrong to any degree when under any amount of stress or accusation (aka, he's deeply defensive, probably insecure about something), he just seem cTommy's actions as, well, a betrayal. And hold him responsible as he would an adult who knows what they're doing, rather than as a hurt and scared child with only so much understanding of cTechno's issues (because cTechno isn't communicating them, so how would cTommy know them?)

My favorite part of the BOBs being annoying is how they think it’s a “gotcha” to say bucktommy fans are “too old because they are over 30” when *checks notes* most of the characters are over 30.

Using this as my diary once again all I have to say is: Recently my brain went back to one of fixations called La Fea Mas Bella. I just finished once again, I already lost count of how many times I watched.

I know it's not the best soap opera out there. But something in the relationship between Lety and Fernando and especially my love for Fer always make me tear up in the end. I feel such a empty heart every time I finish it, enter such a state of melancholy, nostalgia and longing every time I play the last episode that I don't know what to do with myself.

I miss my teens. I miss being the girl who would go back to school ready to watch my soap opera and cry with Fer and Lety eating some homemade cake by my mom. I miss not knowing how it would end, wating it to be Fernando. This soap opera is super silly but it was such an important part of my life it is so important for me that I don't know how to explain.

I think the only other piece of media that had the same impact on me besides this soap opera was Jane Austen's books and David Bowie's Labyrinth. They always going to be my favorite things in the whole world and I don't care what anyone thinks.

They are my comfort in sad days. They remember me of old days and give hope to the future. Is such a strange feeling, you know? Feeling hopeful for the future and longing for the past.

All that but you know what surprised me the most? Spoiler ahead

NIKO FUCKING DYING! LIKE WHAT THE HELL! IVE NEVER BEEN SO HEARTBROKEN

Dead Boy Detectives was surprising.

It surprised me when, instead of Crystal dropping in and fracturing Charles and Edwin's thirty years of friendship, they went with Crystal sinking into the fold of Charles and Edwin's friendship and becoming an important and unique addition to the group.

It surprised me when, instead of Gay Boy Pining Over Straight Best Friend, they went with Gay Boy Realises Feelings For Straight Best Friend And Confesses Almost Immediately with a bonus of Straight Boy Accepts Confession With Surprising Grace And Nothing Changes, Not Really.

It surprised me when, instead of making the female characters repetitive and semi-rational and ultimately less powerful, they went with characters who are smart and selfish and kind and cruel and strong and flawed and oh, they happen to be female too.

It surprised me when Charles liking Crystal did not affect one bit of how much he loved Edwin.

It surprised me when Jenny talked about spinsters with cats and Niko did not bat an eye.

It surprised me with Edwin and Niko. It surprised me with, we have forever to figure the rest out. It surprised me with Crystal's kindness, Jenny's empathy, the casual and absolute, the good you do will come back around.

Dead Boy Detectives was surprising. One day, I hope I can sit back and watch another show and none of this has to be surprising anymore.

I haven’t seen anyone really talk about this detail, but I think it’s a really interesting choice of words for tommy to say “has anyone ever told you”, instead of what would be more commonly said like “I must say” when he said buck looks like a vision in a cone.

I think him saying “has anyone ever told you” says so much about his character and the relationship without over explaining that no one has ever said that to buck, because tommy is different than anyone else he’s ever dated and that he sees buck differently and knows how he enjoys being seen that way.
