How did it make spirk anymore canon than it already was?

It didn't, it established what we already know and feel about those characters. The great, awesome thing this short film had achieved is showing us once again that their love, in whatever way you want to interpret it, was bigger than words, a love that can cross time and universes. And I think that's beautiful. And I also think, in a way, that that decision was even better than making their romantic love canon with a kiss or whatever. This truly feels like a high budget fan film, and I mean that as a compliment.

My only note is that I wanted Bones to be there as well

But I need to know what is up with people writing bones calling Kirk kid? I’m not like super upset about it but it is strange.
