Ngl the Lenos and Hastra paralelisms didn't become all that apparent until the third book but now that it's much more on the nose... Yeah actually i see how that goes.

Shades of Magic has a strong theme of paralelisms, Holland and Kell, Athos & Astrid and King George IV, etcetera, and in those paralelisms the most important thing is that Each Of These Characters Could Have Been One Another. If the twins had been born in the grey london, Astrid and Athos COULD have been the aloof and magic wanting monarchs, if George had been born in the white london... wait no actually he'd be dead. But Kell COULD have been Holland, Holland COULD have been Kell. Back to Hastra and Lenos, Hastra could have been Lenos but Lenos could not have been Hastra. They both accompanied an Antari (Lenos with Lila, Hastra with Kell), they both were religious, etcetera, yes, but their difference relies in that Hastra doesn't want his Equilibrium, he doesn't want to work in the sanctuary, so had Hastra been in Lenos's place, Hastra could have been Lenos. However what fucks me up so badly is that Lenos couldn't have been Hastra, he himself says this, had he had some more Magic he could have been a monk in the sanctuary, but unlike Hastra he would have accepted it outright, unlike Hastra, Lenos wouldn't have gone out of his way for an adventure, Lenos is much more adept to religiousness, Lenos, if he had been in Hastra's place, wouldn't have gotten into the boat because he would never have that chance. In conclusion if Lenos was a tadbit smarter he wouldn't be fucking dead. Hastra would be tho that femboy monk really was that good at being a guard.

-When Kafka kisses you, it's like a big bear hug. You can't help but feel that warm sensation bubbling up inside you whenever he pulls you in to push a playful kiss to your cheek. He especially loves it if you have chubby or squishy cheeks for him to press his lips into.

-Leno kisses you almost shyly. You both might have been dating for months and he'll still kiss you as if he's shy that he's about to kiss you. As much as he loves you, he can't help but feel a little shy when he goes for a kiss still. It's almost as if he thinks you're out of his league with how attractive you are.

-Kisses from Iharu are always playful. He never lets a kiss seem half assed, he always will put his full effort into a kiss even if it's been years since you both got together. He loves to kiss you so why stop him?

-As much as Mina loves to kiss you, she doesn't do it very often. It's a quick peck here and there throughout the day and they don't last nearly as long as you'd like them to. She's a busy woman though and she'll be sure to repay you for your patience once you both are able to catch a day off.

-Hoshina can't help but tease you a little when you ask him for a kiss. You're asking the Vice Captain for a kiss? And you didn't even say please? Seems like you won't be getting what you want. That is... until you least expect it.

-He's so needy. Gen can't help but whine for your attention when you deny it from him. He always wants you to give him your attention and affection. He's one pathetic Captain when it comes to your kisses that you won't give to him!

“Yeah, [Alex Ovechkin] texted me earlier in the day and just asked if I wanted to get sushi once they landed,” Leonard said to the Capitals’ Mike Vogel.

Though, Leonard admitted the message came at a chaotic time.

“I read [the text] in the (Conte Arena) locker room,” Leonard noted, the actual location where he put pen to paper on his new deal. “All the guys were in there. It was probably five to 10 minutes before I actually signed.”

Leonard’s Eagles teammates urged caution when replying to the text, as it came from an unknown number with the sender purporting themselves to be Alex Ovechkin — one of the hockey’s greatest players who is five goals away from breaking the NHL goals record. Perhaps it could be a scam or an early April Fools’ joke.

“They were like, ‘What? I don’t know if you should respond to that,'” Leonard said. “I was like, ‘I kinda have to.’ It was pretty cool.”

Once Leonard was done making his NHL dream a reality, he made the 15-minute drive to meet the Capitals at a Boston-area sushi bar, trading stories and rubbing shoulders with players from the Eastern Conference’s best team.

“Just hanging out with those guys, it was pretty cool,” Leonard said.

But eating raw fish wasn’t all that was on the menu.

“Ovi wanted to see where I went to school, so (we) went there for probably 30 minutes to an hour, just to show him, and he loved it,” Leonard said.

You take him and the rest of the team to a bar where they drink and sing Bandz A Make Her Dance, and presumably enact some kind of buddy hijinks college comedy film scenario.

You're also supposed to start your first NHL game the next day.

Boyfriend headcanons kaiju no 8 boys

Reno

Whenever you both are outside training or near anyone, he does nothing more affectionate than holding your hand at most, but when you both are at home, he does not let go of you. Back hugging you and snuggling into you. It's his favorite thing to do.

He loves to be the little spoon while cuddling. He always wants to be in your embrace while sleeping, or else he cannot sleep all night. "Name, can we please cuddle? I had a rough day." He says in such an adorable voice that how could you deny him?

He is a great cook and always makes you mouth-watering dishes to eat all day. He just loves seeing you enjoy his dishes and eat them so cutely.

He loves at-home dates. He just loves watching any movies, shows, or anime you want to watch as he cuddles you. When you both had your anniversary and you were in the mood for something fancy, he decorated the living room with flowers, teddy bears, chocolates, and gifts to surprise you. 

Hoshina

He absolutely loves it when you pamper him with all your affection. Cupping his face. Giving him onslaught kisses, burying your head in his neck. Whenever he thinks about that, His day becomes one of the best.

Hoshina is an overly protective boyfriend. The moment he comes home, he checks your body for any wounds. Whenever he even sees you interact with one of the juniors, he makes sure the both of you don't talk for more than 3 minutes, or else the game is over. He makes sure you feel safe and protective.

Hoshina loves giving you a flower and chocolate every day. He always has a bundle of chocolates with him and goes to a local flower shop to get you any cute flower.

He loves picnic dates and afternoon dates. He loves to take you to a quiet park. Lay down a blanket and rest in your lap as you and him talk for hours and hours. Picnic dates are usually in the morning, as he likes to take you out on brunches too. 

Kafka

He is the most affectionate boyfriend. He gives you many warm hugs every day. He loves to kiss your temple as you relax on top of him.

He loves hearing you talk. Your voice is just so comforting. He brings you to his lap and burys his face in your neck as you talk about anything.

He does not show his jealous side, as he knows you are loyal to him, but one thing he makes sure of is that you have a healthy routine. If he does not know that you have eaten well, slept well, and are drinking plenty of water, he has to check up on you because his mind keeps thinking about you.

Even though he does not look like it. Kafka is a fancy man. He takes you out to fancy restaurants to eat at on dates. He always has a private reservation ready for you and him. After all, your happiness is Kafka's happiness.

Gen

Gen has made you obsessed with gaming too. After all, games are addicting. He got you all kinds of gaming consoles and game figures to play with him.

A lot, meaning everyone asks you. Why choose Gen? An irresponsible captain who has such an attitude and is careless, but what they haven't seen is Gen's soft side. He makes sure you are okay. He cannot focus on anything unless you are safe. Once on a Kaiju mission when you got injured. Gen stayed up all night. Not touching his games or electronics once, as he needed to take care of you and make sure you were safe. Not letting you go on a mission unless you are recovered.

Even if he is loyal. He is the most jealous person ever. He knows your beauty and your aura, which makes people gravitate towards you. So, he makes sure to have you near him at all times, not letting you even talk to a guy in peace.

He loves arcade dates and karaoke dates, but if you don't want to go there, He takes you to amusement parks and water parks. Gen loves an adventure.

Imagine being Kafka Hibino's younger sister. When he mentioned having a sister, you, to his coworkers, he might say he bitterly regrets it. It's not because he hates you or anything, but he just can't stop being irritated. His coworkers always ask, "Is she single?" "Give me her contact info." "How are you the brother of such a precious thing?" With his brotherly jealousy, Kafka can't stand the idea of you dating, especially not a colleague of his. He thinks you're not ready.

When Reno starts his internship at your brother’s workplace, he barely arrives before overhearing one of Kafka's coworkers say, "Hey Kafka! This is Reno, he wants to join the Defense Force!" Kafka might show a bit of surprise before getting angry at the next comment: "Reno, this is Kafka. He also dreamed of joining the Defense Force, but he gave up and now works here, unlike his sister."

"Kafka's beautiful sister works there!" Just mentioning you makes Kafka irritated. He gets annoyed because his coworkers won't stop talking about you, always trying to provoke him by talking about how they’d like to date you, maybe go out and hook up. "Keep my sister out of this!" Kafka mutters before turning to Reno, who looks at him confused.

"Now I understand what the cleaning staff was talking about," Kafka realizes his mistake. Now his friend Reno Ichikawa, who inspired him to try for the Defense Force and succeeded, is watching you present yourself. Kafka can only sigh in exhaustion, asking Reno to keep it a secret or just not point out that the leader of the third division squad is nothing more than Kafka's precious sister.

Although it’s already too late, now in the bath with his teammates, he not only mentions Mina but also you. This makes everyone extremely curious. But Kafka learned that if he opened his mouth, he’d be teased for having you as his little sister, so he avoids the subject, though he ends up talking about Mina, with his colleagues pressing him for more details.

But one thing Kafka can say is that he prefers a thousand times over for Reno Ichikawa, his friend, to date his precious sister rather than the vice-captain of the third division. He really didn’t know that Soshiro Hoshina had been eyeing you for a long time, only finding out when Soshiro openly mentioned it.

"So you're (name) (middle name) Hibino’s brother? What a strange way to meet my future brother-in-law," Soshiro said. Strange? Kafka felt not only anger but also surprise at that moment. "Future brother-in-law?!" As if that wasn't enough, Soshiro knew Kafka wanted to fight alongside his captain Mina Aspiro. It annoyed Kafka that Soshiro wanted to take his place as vice-captain, so it was a nice surprise to find out that the brother of his crush was here. He could not only tease the old man but also irritate him.

"By the way, your sister says hi," Soshiro's smile was enough to make Kafka mad.

“Reno,” Kafka said.

“Yes?”

“Know that you have my blessing.”

"W- what do you mean, Kafka?!!" Reno looked shocked and blushing at Kafka, who only had an expression of anger and seriousness. Kafka had just said he didn't mind if Reno dated his sister; he preferred that over the vice-captain.

“50 push-ups!” Kafka could only cry in sadness at his vice-captain’s remark. He knew Soshiro probably told Reno he preferred him over Soshiro dating you.

"Captain, have you noticed that the vice is acting really strange?" You ask Mina, and Mina can only sigh. If there’s one thing you and Kafka share, it’s the slowness in understanding others’ feelings, especially when they’re interested in you.
