⋆ “you should’ve told me you were afraid of storms.”
⋆ “i can’t sleep either through it either. wanna talk?”
⋆ “calm down, i’m not leaving- i’m just going to grab another blanket.”
⋆ “seriously? you’ve lived here for how many years, and you still can’t find your way around without the lights on?”
⋆ “god, you’re freezing! come here, let me warm you up.”
⋆ “please forget every time i’ve ever been irate with you over your candle collection.”
⋆ “i don’t care if it’s red weather warning outside, if you try and warm your icy little feet on me one more time i’m kicking you out.”
⋆ "don't worry, i won't tell anyone that my big bad partner/roomate/xyz is afraid of a little thunder."
⋆ "shit, is the power out?"
⋆ "was that lightning?! that was definitely lightning, right?"
⋆ "come here, i'll keep you safe. swear."

headcanon that the reason sophie still has eyelashes to pull on the regular is that grady and edaline worked something out with the dizznees to get a tasteless formula to help eyelash growth specifically to put drops of in her bottles of youth. because there’s no way her ptsd-induced trichotillomania (oversimplified definition for those who aren’t familiar: hair pulling disorder) is gonna die down during the war, so they’re trying to make sure she doesn’t move from eyelashes to eyebrows or her Hair hair by giving her More Eyelashes

Talia al Ghul’s character and conflicting actions regarding her father and the league, Batman, and Damian are strongly explainable by the development of Borderline Personality Disorder in her early childhood as a way to survive her father’s psychopathy; leading to a pattern of mistrust, complete devotion, and the rampant self-destruction of her relationships to protect herself at the barest imagined slight. In this essay I will-

Glasses in whump.
Whumpee who has them taken away/broken early into its long captivity.
Caretaker brings whumpee to get a new prescription after it is rescued, and oh the unintentional trauma triggers there.
Blood pressure cuff. Velcros on and pumps tighter and tighter with every heartbeat-
Things near its eyes, both sticks and paddles to cover them, the lights are suddenly off with a flashlight in its face.
Cold metal devices it's expected to press its face against. Smells like chemicals. Orders given on where to look. To hold still.
Whumpee takes the question of "what's the lowest line you can read?" As a test, and becomes noticeabley distressed when it 'fails'
Eyedrops. Drugs that change its ability to see. Sticky. Lashes clumping together. Hands on its face.
Then in the waiting room, either before the appointment or after while getting the prescription filled, all the glasses on the walls looking looking, staring, eyes watching. Everyone can see whumpee, whumper knows where it is.
This feeling is magnified if video or pictures of its torture were passed around or sold. Everyone can see your pain, the glasses on the walls say. Everyone can see everything you're doing wrong, all the rules you're breaking.
Choosing frames. Paralyzing decision or a gift of choice?
Does whumpee think it deserves the gift of sight?
Everything is too bright after. The new glasses make the world even blurrier as it adjusts.
But in the end, it's all worth it.

ik we clown on sawyers sexism but we need to clown on jack as well bc hooo boy there's some covert misogyny happening there, especially regarding women he's romantically interested in (sarah, kate, juliet, ashara), where his saviour complex and protective syndrome WAY overshoots the line (re: stalking, obsessiveness, jealousy, not taking no for an answer when they won't tell him things, not letting them be capable etc). like with sawyer from his whole demeanour you'd expect it coming from him but with jack you wouldn't. until you're kate and he won't let you come on today's jungle trip even though he knows you're capable or when he corners ashara in her room and forces her to tattoo him. and of course this misogyny is soo tied up into his daddy issues & control issues etc. and i think he doesnt see himself as being sexist (not like sawyer is!!) and he'd probably be appalled if you told him.
anyway this isnt a well thought out analysis or smth it was just smth i've been thinking about the past few days and i wish the show had explored that aspect of it more...but to ask a 2000s american network tv show to meaningfully explore their male protagonist's sexism...i have to laugh.

There's so many layers to Ygraine s2e8.
Uther was Arthur's mother's killer, Arthur's father but also Arthur's de facto mother after Ygraine's death.
Meeting Ygraine is the first and only time Arthur gets to see Uther for what he really is - a father and a murderer rather than his whole parental unit wrapped up in one person. For the first and only time, Arthur gets to know his actual origins - he is a creature made of magic. It's what runs through his blood, making him closer to any Druid child massacred on a raid than the knights that he led. It's the first (and arguably the only) time Arthur recognizes he can break away from Uther - and tries to.
Not with a pithy "I am not you, father" or an angry argument on morality but with the rage of the son of a murdered mother - an abused child finally physically and psychologically capable of inflicting violence on their abuser.
To be clear - that's unbelievable and terrifying for anyone with a moderately healthy relationship with their parents.
Merlin sees Arthur's attack on Uther through that lens.
He also sees Arthur as the man who'll evolve into what he thinks the Once and Future King should be - just, kind, merciful, egalitarian, always seeking peace over war, returner of magic.
When Merlin says he didn't stop Arthur for Uther, what he means is he did it for Arthur and the Arthur he is certain will one day exist. Merlin is also more comfortable with lying than being honest. His whole identity has become wrapped up in serving and protecting Arthur - "I was born to be your servant."
Using magic to stop Arthur, an obvious option, would go against both his instinct to lie, save his own life (and protect his identity - which can't risk the ego death that would come from not being Arthur's servant, protector, friend. His unwillingness to alter his relationship with Arthur or see him hurt means in s2e8 Merlin has to cut Arthur's growth off at its knees - change requires some form of suffering and Merlin loves Arthur enough to die for him but not enough to risk the suffering of living without him.

Talking with @thatsafuckeduptale about a UTY au/bad ending where Ceroba succeeds in taking Clover's soul to fuse with Kanako and we get a fucked up fmab style amalgam situation
Starlo is horrified and betrayed that his best friend did such a thing to innocent children. Kanako, whom he probably viewed as a nice, and his new human friend whom he had grown close to as well. He saw the tapes in the house like in pacifist, but he was just too late to get there and stop it from happening
Martlet is furious, Ceroba is inconsolable about the fact she's caused such suffering, to her own child no less, and now there's an unstable, dripping, shambling mass that's always in pain/on the verge of death but can't really die because there's like two human souls worth of determination in there. And Flowey can't reset either because he's not the one with the most DT in the underground anymore.
This is the "everyone is unhappy and fucked up forever" ending

The inherent tragedy in Wu and Lloyd unknowingly putting high expectations onto their first students because they experienced high expectations themselves and thought it was NORMAL.
The inherent tragedy in unknowingly pushing their kids away and making them think they’re not good enough i.e Lloyd saying Arin can be better and Wu believing that Morro is the green ninja
The inherent tragedy in them being GENUINE of these things because they don’t know how bad their kids feel. The fact that ‘you could be the green ninja’/ ‘you could be so much better’ stem from pride in their kids.
The tragedy in the fact that Lloyd and Wu genuinely believed their kids were the best and could be the best leading to their kids (maybe for Arin) downfall
Generational Trauma am I right guys…
Haha, no I’m not going crazy, Wdym
Tumblr media
(Just a lil side note I do hope people are more forgiving of Wu for his failings in Morro if they’re forgiving of Lloyd for maybe carrying out the same mistakes in the future in regards to Arin.)

Rereading RnS on vacation, and I noticed something I'd forgotten about.
Who was the Hels that Martyn and RK knew who stopped being and then became again but didn't remember anything or anyone?
Additionally, still caught off guard by how much they hate/dislike/can't be in each other's presence right now. And smirking at the begrudgingly assisting Helsknight like 'dude this small wet cat of a Hels is going to change the way you think forever stop looking like you want to pitch him out a window sometimes'
Skizz's helsmet is the one in question. He showed up first as Ender!Skizz, got taken by the universe, and then showed up again But Different. Helsknight also refers to him when Red has his botched intervention in chapter 9:
“Did you give this lecture to your pet enderman before he left?” Helsknight snapped, his voice an angry growl. “Don’t think he found much peace.”

Gonna be so honest....the entrapment comment from Colin is kinda valid.
Like he very much says it in hurt, and as hes lashing out to make her feel a fraction as bad as he does in the moment, and he regrets it, but also its not necessarily wrong. Penelope had a LOT of chances to tell him. She could have told him after they got engaged, after he told off Portia, she could have told him either before or after they got the queens announcement.
She makes the decision not too, she doesn't even think to tell him before she runs off to print again, an Colin finds out in literally the worst way. And not only that, he finds out Eloise knew and decided not to tell him because she didn't want to hurt him.
Think about all the things Whistledown has done? She bad mouthed Daphne, his little sister and the one closest to him. The Marina situation, while it may have saved him from a marriage built on lies, left him humiliated embarrassed and unsure of himself and his feelings towards people. Then another of his sisters is dragged through the mud, for reasons he doesn't know. Then when he's struggling with who he is, trying to fit in, he is also dragged through the mud for legitimately no reason. You can say "oh but what he said last season!" Or whatever argument you want, but really, its entirely because she was upset(rightfully so) about what happened at the ball, and Colin was an easy target.
You can spout about how much good Whistledown has done, but she has done just as much bad. Colin has been a victim multiple times, even if by way of collateral damage.
Colin GETS to be upset, hes allowed to lash out, and hes allowed to feel trapped by the woman who has lied to him for literal years. Hes not dramatic for not wanting to sleep with her on their wedding night, when he is someone who cares so much for intimacy, especially with Penelope.
He has been entirely honest with her their entire relationship, both as friends and as partners, and Penelope has been unable to offer him the same back. And, she faces such minimal consequences for it. The worst she gets is Colin being upset with her, for not even a month from the way its played out in the show.
In conclusion, Colin didn't do anything wrong, and I'm about to start biting people who think hes some horribly toxic villain for not liking that hes been lied to for 3 straight years.

I think Lunara would become worse if someone ever told them that they are the only known Lunar variant to be broken and reset over and over again until they hit their breaking point. I think it'd piss them off so bad like genuinely
