I used to be scared of heights as a child, I got over it by reworking my brain. It's not the distance to the ground that's important, it's the distance to your ground. Maybe your ground is the swing your sitting on, the large playground equipment that's taller than you, the top of a slide. Maybe your ground is the top floor of an office, the seat of a commercial flight, the roof of a building.

So now imagine two characters, 1 being afraid of heights and 2 having wings. 1 is freaking out about the thought of being in the air before 2 reassures them, saying it's not the distance of the ground to be scared of. It's the distance to 2. 2 is their new ground. As long as 2 is right there, it's safe.

Something I think is cute is that - y’know how Raph’s eyes are more on the yellow side?

Well, you know who also has slightly yellowed eyes? Donnie.

While Raph’s are more yellow, I think it’s cute that this is something that they share and I don’t see it pointed out too often?

It’s also something they both share with Draxum and Splinter’s current form (though again, these two have much more yellow sclera than the boys do.)

But yeah, I like that there’s this little detail that ties Raph and Donnie together, even if it’s small.

I'm going to be so real I do not understand tim & steph shippers who feel that Steph dating Tim again would save her character. You can make an argument that giving Tim a more compelling love interest would be beneficial for him! And you can at least make an argument that the fujo mischaracterization of Steph would stop. However she'd still, inevitably, be treated as a prop character/extension for someone more popular 😭 it also wouldn't make her appear in more books! Tim doesn't have many frequent appearances at the moment either! You can just say you like the couple and want them back together without acting like you have some kind of moral stance

Something about how Ren makes up canon characters with distinct aesthetics and how fanon characterizes him as a "dramatic flirty theatre kid". Something about Ren having two popular king characters and how it gives something else for fanon to latch onto. Something about how Ren is a "theatre kid" so he can play any role in fanon and more often than not the non-Ren mains put him as the eye candy/ love interest/ narrative tool.

Quick question do you see Asgore as Undynes actual adoptive father or more as a mentor whom she views as a father-like figure?

More mentor figure than actually adopted but I like seeing him adopt her too. My personal view is that it turned from him trying to redirect her passion into being a teacher to her, to being a mentor and the into her boss, and now she's overly familiar with him because of just how long she's known him. He'd be more like an adult she could trust and if it was familial neither would realize or verbalize it. If asgore realized he saw her as a daughter I think asgore would still be too distraught over his past family that he would feel like he's projecting if he asks her and if she realized she saw him as a dad I don't think she would ask either because she also wouldn't want to encroach on that. She'd never call him 'dad' because she doesnt think of him that way but she would still get teased by the other royal guards saying he is because of just how close she is with him. And she would also be seen as the unofficial 'heir' by most other monsters because next to gerson she's the closest to him and has directly trained under him for years. So she still gets that royal heir pressure without actually being his daughter.

I like the idea of him meeting her when she's a little girl (if being attacked out of the blue count as a meeting) and then From there she ends up making him spend alot of time with her for 'training' which eventually turns into him sharing tea with her and her inviting herself over to the castle frequently to yap about her problems. Stray child 'adopts' local lonely king. Mainly she would bug him immensely about gerson and the war. I like to think little undyne would have been very similar to susie so her friendship with asgore is more akin to susie's dynamic with toriel. Could be familial if you want it to be but more of a stray kid finding an adult who actually cares about them and wants to see them do better.

sonic channel wallpaper for october has sage in it and ive noticed that the ending of the final horizon story had her in her blue and white colors and every piece of official art featuring her since then including this most recent one also used those colors . so is that just what she looks like now . or is it just a coincidence because i say every piece of official art but theres only been 3 so it definitely could be a coincidence. if its not a coincidence though thats kind of a shame because i like her black and red colors better and think that thats a more fitting color palette for a character so closely associated with eggman to have . but oh well im happy shes getting content at all because sega easily could have just dropped her immediately like theyve done with other new characters in the past

I think another piece of this whole, "I hate her because she sucks, not because she's a woman 🙄 how dare you think this is related to misogyny at all" is that for plenty of characters, the issues they face and how they look at the world are deeply entwined with the fact that they are a woman. In something like ASoIaF, ALL of the women would have completely different relationships to themselves and the world around them if they were men, because power and opportunities would be afforded to them that they don't currently have. Catelyn wouldn't have to worry about her kids being passed over because Catelyn would be the head of the household. Cersei--a character so influenced by how trapped she feels in her womanhood--wouldn't make ANY of the choices she makes. Arya and Brienne wouldn't face the particular struggles they do (and react accordingly) because their more "masculine" qualities would be celebrated instead of disparaged. Sansa wouldn't keep being traded as a pawn (in a highly sexualized way) if she were a young man. Shae probably wouldn't be a sex worker at all. (I will stop here before I go through every single character, but I think you know what I'm getting at.)

And this isn't the only work where that's the case. Even like...BBC Irene. "Dominatrix" is very much seen as a Woman Profession. The idea of a woman being sexually active or a formidable threat is still pushed to the fringes of society. This character is able to play the protagonist so well because she is similarly "other-ed" by society to a similar degree which he is. That goes away if she were, in this particular work, a man. If Rebecca from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (which, thankfully, because of how small and niche this show is, I haven't actually seen A Ton Of Hate for this character) had been a man, there would be much less of an insistence from the world around her that all she has to do is find a Nice Opposite-Gender Partner To Settle Down With And Then All Her Problems Will Be Solved (which...this internalization of "solving your problems with romantic love" is A CORNERSTONE OF THE CHOICES SHE MAKES FOR A SIGNIFICANT CHUNK OF THE SHOW). The idea that you exist solely to be someone's Perfect Partner is pushed on women a lot more than it is on men. (And also, because of the cultural idea that women can't Actually Be Evil Or Threatening, Rebecca's machinations against Josh probably wouldn't have been able to fly under the radar for so long--Rebecca herself even brings this up after she starts routinely going to therapy, saying to Josh that if she were a man, she would not have gotten that far without being labeled as bad news). Rita from Doom Patrol having such a complex over her appearance and how it affected her acting career (and how both of those things affected her relationship with her mother) wouldn't have been nearly as much of an issue (if at all) if she had been a man, and this complex is a key part of understanding why she makes the choices she does.

So, yeah, maybe you don't hate this character because she's a woman, but in some cases, her being a woman (and not being a man), is why she feels some (or even a lot) of the significant things she feels and is deeply related to some (or, again, possibly even a lot) of the significant choices she makes. And when the outcome of those choices (war crimes, murder, bad parenting, being mean, withdrawing from society, being sexually promiscuous, being "annoying" or "cringe," etc.) is proven time and time again to not be a dealbreaker on its own considering how many well-loved male characters do things that result in those outcomes...considering that male characters do those things for reasons that are not tied in any way to them being women (because. they aren't women.), then in some of these cases...yeah, your hatred is still related to her being a woman.

In this specific route makes sense Hank being pissed about Connor "pretending to be his friend". I mean, dude def watched the news about Jericho being raided, the news about Cristina getting even more rough with androids and the leaders being wanted for death. Probably thought was his fault almost directly and went face Connor with gun in hand ready to kill the guy.

Also, it’s kinda funny that Marvel repeatedly acknowledges that CA:TWS is their best and most popular movie (bc it genuinely is, even the film bros regard it far higher than IW and EG) yet they have two of the main characters from that movie that they can expand on and make similar storylines with and they just……give them half baked arcs and messy scripts, or cut their screen time……

Like maybe, idk just a random thought, just a potential solution, but maybeeee it’d be easier to create that level of success again if you expanded on the characters that were in that movie to begin with….Like maybe you could recreate the effect of CA:TWS if you wrote a good script about the new Captain America and the former winter soldier….maybe you could give those two characters from the fan favorite movie the spotlight…..idk tho that might be a huge reach
