since the bbc aren’t much help, i’m here to say if you’re a fan of camp horror comedies you should definitely watch “wreck” on the bbc! it’s got mystery elements, lots of cool plot twists; it’s super funny and bloody and very very queer!! the main characters are a gay guy and a lesbian and their friendship is very important to the show!
series 1 is all on iplayer in the uk and is a super fun watch, and series 2 starts tonight!! 10pm on bbc 3!! tune in & hopefully it’ll be one of the few gay shows to be renewed instead of cancelled! 🪓🏳️‍🌈

Sooooo hopefully 911 Buck and Eddie for the 118th episode they become canon! Like think about it that would make the episode 1000x better. I love they are best friends and can be lovers. (Honestly best trope.) Just cuz they start dating doesn’t mean the friendship will end. Pleasseeee Ryan (Murphy aka creator), ABC, and I have a feeling Ryan (Guzman aka Eddie) and Oliver (Stark aka Buck) would be all for it like the actors for Tarlos (Rafael aka Carlos and Ronen aka TK.. on 911 Lone Star) … soooo pleasseeee???!!?!?

Tumblr media
Some more LGBTQIA+ media for you! There are so many great shows out there, here's a few to get you started if you're looking for some queer focused content! I'm currently rewatching Killing Eve but I'm also keen to watch the Interview with a Vampire series as I recently finished the first book.
Do you like any of these shows or have any other recommendations? I'd love to hear them so please let me know in the comments!

My favourite breed of characters is when the lgbtq character is played by a straight married actor, and when you find out the actor is straight after playing the lgbtq role, SO WELL. Almost convincing

I've been thinking about the Channel 4 TV series "Big Boys" quite a lot for its heartfelt plot, raunchy humour and beautiful representation of male friendships, especially between a gay boy and a straight boy, among many other things that this show does wonderfully. And I've been wondering if it was gonna get that second season. And then I caught wind of this article and got very excited and now I need you all to watch the first season of this incredible show to get excited with me!! 🩵

Young Royals (Final season)
Tumblr media
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
Young Royals (Final season, 2024, Sweden)
Creators: Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung & Camilla Holter
Directors: Julia Lindström, Jerry Carlsson & Linnéa Roxeheim
Mini-review:
We've finally reached the end of Young Royals, which has remained as enjoyable as always until its very last second. I must admit I felt like the show kept going in circles during these final episodes, and like maybe they took the angst a bit too far this time round. On top of that, sometimes subtlety went out the window when it came to handling certain social issues. But still, the finale itself was so f**king perfect and cathartic that it more than made up for any problems. I will definitely miss this show, cause these characters are so well-written and brilliantly-acted that you can't help but immerse yourself in their world.

KAKEGURUI RANT:
The presence of the patriarchy is so obvious, especially in film.
Tell me how: in Kakegurui Every. Single. Woman is just FANTASTICAL. They added to the plot even making it better. They have their own characterizations and are all easily loved by watchers. Every woman is simply BRILLIANT... but none of them are the main character(s)
The main character is this man:
Tumblr media
Do I know his name? Nope.
What does he do you ask?
He narrates everything that Yumeko and the other women of Hyakkaou academy are up to. He narrates the events of the gambles and comments on how he feels as he sits back and watches. He's only ever participated in 3 games out of the entirety of season 1 and even when he HAS he's just being told what to do, or following Yumeko's lead not knowing how to make a decision without her. He's only ever made ONE decision by himself in ONE game and even then Yumeko had to guide his hand, hyping him up.
Am I saying main characters have to be fantastical to be main characters? No. But I AM saying that a main character cannot be a main character if multiple fans of the media, don't even recognize that characters place in the show. I thought Yumeko was the main character since everything about her qualifies: every thing she does matters to the plot and characters interact with her constantly, We learn things about her in every episode, She's in every single episode and she's still an important character even in the episode when she was literally knocked out & slipping into a coma.
How is this amazing woman who takes up most of the screentime supposed to be seen as a side character to a random dude who no one can even remember the name of? Everything about him revolves around Yumeko. His thoughts/words, his character development and even his status in the shows setting- ppl in the school only see him as the boy who follows Yumeko. The President didn't even know his name, granted she doesn't know EVERY student's name but she doesn't even see him as a mere student, she called him Yumeko's "subject" he's not even his own person. Anytime ppl talk to him it's to ask him about Yumeko.
LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON HE COULD BE CHOSEN AS A MAIN CHARACTER DESPITE HIM NOT BEING IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO EVEN HAVE HIS OWN IDENTITY WOULD BE THAT HE'S JUST A MAN. HE'S THE ONLY MAN IN THE GROUP.
