finally finished kuroba's updated fujio rock design!! i ended up thinking about them a lot more than i expected and ended up fleshing out their au a lot more so they really needed a new look. and here's a short playlist for how i imagine their band's music / their vocals would sound!

rotten flower is a lolita vkei band aesthetics-wise, but they pull from a variety of genres for their music. a lot of their songs have instrumentation inspired by european folk and classical music ( a la kaoling or yucat. )

their band has multiple themes they play on — card suits, royalty, flowers, and urban decay being overtaken by nature.

kuroba's band persona plays into a cool prince archetype with a playful side, this really comes out on stage.

they've gained more popularity as of late and have gotten the chance to play at larger venues, but kuroba still prefers playing at smaller, underground venues. they think it makes for a more intimate, energized experience.

rather than being a plant nerd in this verse, kuroba is obsessed with instruments. it's not uncommon for them to dive down a rabbit hole of researching different ones and come out the other side with a wealth of knowledge + a new baby in their collection. they're very fond of stringed instruments.

kuroba themself loves a wide swath of music genres and is interested in making music in them, but many of them don't exactly fit their band's aesthetic well. they'd love to produce a bossa nova or city pop album at some point.

they were also an utatie back in college under the pseudonym, " tsumekusa. " their channel wasn't super popular, but they had a few dedicated fans that loved hearing their covers. they mostly covered songs from the 80's.

kuroba used to be tone death in this au like they are in canon, but thanks to their fellow club member's help and encouragement, they were able to train their voice to the level it's at now. their natural singing register is on the lower side, but they're able to sing in higher ranges as well, ( i imagine it to be like to the range showcased in the jun togawa song on the linked playlist. )

their beef and rivalry with kara seemingly came out of nowhere after they meeting for the first time in the au. kuroba tends to be kinda curt and playfully snarky towards him while kara is happy that at least someone recognizes his greatness enough to see him as a rival. also, he's just very clearly infatuated with them and wants this to be a rivals to lovers situation so fucking bad. ( he'll probably get that wish granted, we'll see. )

Kaitou 1412/Kuroba Touichi x Phantom Lady/Kuroba Chikage headcanons? The couple that does crime together stays together. She is the prized jewel in his jewellery box. I like the idea that she's using her old criminal ties to avenge her husband too, like Kaito is but more internationally.

Thanks for asking, I love you. I had that headcanon about Chikage investigating Toichi's enemies abroad too! I so agree with that. 1. Chikage has the motto "If you don't want to get shot, dodge!" and Toichi is like "Kaito don't listen to your mother, she's just joking!". 2. Every time Toichi went out (work, shopping, etc.) he would come back to find his wife lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The first few times, he was so worried and got really offended when Chikage started laughing because he was starting to cry. Chikage didn't find it funny when Kaito imitated her years later, Toichi made fun of her as revenge. 3. Toichi is much more dramatic than Chikage, when they fought, Chikage was the one offering flowers for Toichi to forgive her, when Toichi was the one asking for her forgiveness, he invited her on dates. 4. Chikage learned some basic magic tricks and some impressive ones from her husband, when Toichi died (YES, HE'S DEAD) she performed some tricks here and there to cheer Kaito up. 5. I like to think that despite how much Toichi had to practice to be a thief, Chikage corrected him and supported him in his criminal career. When necessary, she disguised herself as KID to cover him up. 6. As a thief, Toichi was more elegant and silent, while Chikage was stealthy and brutal. I can see her creating the most disturbing crime scene and at the end leaving a note saying "It's a joke!", the police couldn't stop thinking if it was a good thing that everything was fake or if it was so bad to know that she could really do something that horrible if she wanted to. She was a bad influence on Toichi in that regard! KID started to play some mischievous pranks in his later years. 7. Chikage was Toichi's makeup artist for his shows, and she usually did a great job, but one time, while she was doing her job, little 4-year-old Kaito came over to ask if he could help.

Toichi trusted Chikage to fix any damage, which ended with him on stage with his face painted like a clown.

Toichi learned that a thief like Phantom Lady would never lose her poker face. 8. The life quote Toichi shared with Kaito was "go big or do nothing," Chikage told him to preferably not apply it in a confession.

Kaito: But it worked for you, didn't it? Chikage: Yes, but I would have liked a longer romance! Toichi: Not for me, I saw you and knew I wanted to spend my whole life with you. Chikage: Aww, you're so sweet. Kaito: **Writing in a notebook** Chikage: What are you writing? Kaito: I'm taking references. Toichi: References? Kaito: When I like someone, I'll get a bunch of enemies and jump off the Eiffel Tower with them. That way they can't say no to me! Maybe I can even hire someone to pretend to be enemies! Toichi: Uuhh... Chikage: Remember to have an extra parachute. Kaito: That's a great idea, mom! Toichi: I don't think it's a good idea… Kaito: But it worked for you, in less than 5 minutes they said yes! Toichi: But it's not the same! Chikage: Leave it, I think it was very romantic! Toichi; No! I mean, yes! But-! Jii: I always knew that his mistakes would haunt him sooner or later, I told him, I invited her to dinner like a normal person, but noooo, "I want to be extravagant, one of a kind, I want to be the peacock that she chooses, the most exquisite jewel", bah.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

Ryuji did a karate demonstration where he broke 10 tiles (Session 1) and 15 tiles (Session 2).

He also played games with the guests that revealed personal information about himself from his childhood.

Additionally, announcements were made for two new projects: his 4th photobook and "Sato Ryuji 'Ryu' 2025". Video previews for both projects were shown during the event.

This is an old ass post from a probably dead blog, but I wanted to share my thoughts after stumbling across this just in case someone from the future stumbles across it, too. In the first place, Mikazuki Munechika is never the same character across the spin-offs. Sometimes he’s more mysterious, sometimes he’s more silly and playful, sometimes he doesn’t act like how you’d expect Mikazuki to act at all. What is true Mikazuki is that, no matter how much better you think one portrayal is, neither the stage or musical portrayals are completely accurate representations of how Mikazuki Munechika actually is since both lean too far into portraying him a certain way and are ultimately how the writer envisions Mikazuki would/should act.

Browser game Mikazuki Munechika, which is the only completely true and accurate characterization of the character due to being the original one and the basis for all current and future versions of Mikazuki, is not the extremely mysterious and goofy yet tragic guy that Hiroki Suzuki portrays him as, nor is he the somewhat less mysterious, sometimes silly, and youthful guy Kuroba Mario portrays him as. Both portrayals are just the writer and directors’ interpretation of browser game Mikazuki, which is then expanded upon and molded to suit the medium Mikazuki appears in. It is, once again, not how or who Mikazuki Munechika actually is, and no one has officially gone on the record to make such a claim. In fact, official media accepts both portrayals of the character because.. well, they’re both official portrayals of the character. No one is superior to the other in that regard. They both just exist as the character and are recognized as different yet equal portrayals in alternate citadels.

I also think Both actors are perfectly cast for the medium they appear in as Mikazuki. Kuroba Mario suits the musical and that writers vision of Mikazuki, and Hiroki Suzuki suits the stage play and that writers vision of Mikazuki. I don’t doubt either of their acting ability, but I don’t think Kuroba Mario would be suited to portray a darker Mikazuki, and Hiroki Suzuki would definitely not suit the tone of the musicals, no matter how well anyone think he suits Mikazuki in the stage plays or how much more accurate anyone thinks his portrayal is. He would just not fit visually or acting wise. They’re just too different, as are the tones of the plays, and wouldn’t fit at all if they switched.

Anyway I think that’s all I have to. I’m tired of this Marichika vs Hirochika debate as if the obvious answer isn’t that they fit perfectly for the medium they’re cast in. Neither one is better or “more like Mikazuki” because neither are actually Mikazuki. They’re just a writers somewhat inaccurate and expanded upon version of them.

Meet, Mario Kuroba fellow cancer. He is an athletic boy, he plays basketball irl I watched his documentary about how he became an actor. But his sports passion is baseball, he commenced ACTORS LEAGUE back in 2021 consisting of all Japanese actors who play baseball including him because he associated with the program. He is known for his "heart Melting smile" cause the way he smiles will send you Melting like ice, he is sweet.

Additional, this is the reason why I love him he also played my beloved moon, Mikazuki Munechika from Touken Ranbu they have a musical and let me tell you, HIS VOICE IS ANGELIC.

I remember participating in a fan event to send letters to Mario he is the first Japanese actor I send regards of support and love to his career. I WONDER HOW HIS REACTION WHEN HE READS MY LETTER 😭💕

The Kurosute Memorial Pamphlet has a lot of theatrical production details and interviews that I find fascinating, so I'll be posting them bit by bit.

Some trivia from the Production Notes above (feel free to correct translation errors):

Asato Yuya (Kagami) initially auditioned for another role.

Onuma Shota (Aomine) was a bit of a method actor, in that during rehearsals, he distanced himself from the rest of the cast as they were getting to know each other. When the cast had basketball practice he was first to be in the gym and was last to leave.

The third stage play was already in pre-production as they were working on the second play.

Ayukawa Taiyou (Murasakibara) was apparently on the production's radar since The Encounter, and when he came to watch Over-Drive the other actors had fan-cast him as Murasakibara! (I vaguely remember from one of Ayu's live streams that he had wanted to join Kurosute earlier but had to wait a year)

Many actors auditioned for Akashi. Itokawa Yojiro won the role with his passion for the role, his confidence in playing Akashi, and… actual basketball! At the end of the audition he brought out a ball and wowed the team with his basketball skills. (Basketball is one of Itokawa's hobbies, and he's participated in the 2.5D games ACTORS☆LEAGUE for three years now. And he dyes his hair red every time??)

Just before the final show on the final day, Kuroba Mario (Kise) quoted Kise's lines from KNB Extra Game because there were no more lines to rehearse.

Because production wanted to keep working with the same main cast, they decided to finish the Kurosute run with the fourth stage play, condensing season three of the anime into Ultimate-Blaze.
