Like you said they don't care about continuity much which is just such a bad things to have as something natural when it comes to story telling

Sometimes I hate being the Boomerang expert because I have to listen to writers be so incredibly wrong about his characterization. Like... I'm sorry but being a mercenary just doesn't suite him.

I can understand. Im still like a newbie into this reading three of the Suicide Squads thus far I understand. I’m not sure where they pulled mercenary either. But as you touched on he’s becoming more seen with the squad and thus many believe that’s where he’s always been. I actually asked myself about his Rogue status cause if you go by issue 42 for 2016 he and Cold don’t (seem to) know each other.

But in terms of the not being a mercenary that doesn’t even fit in comic context cause Suicide Squad isn’t even mercenary work. But when he’s not out having to kill to live he’s stuck in a cell so they don’t really get to touch on him wanting to steal much. Not even a passing thought.

While it’s not relevant to the movie it probably doesn’t help that they’ve been adjusting his intelligence over the years.

I do intend to go back through all his issues of the series he’s been in and see how well I can learn him. I’m really not planning on becoming a DC person but I want to know more about him.
