I think one of the funniest things in mcyt is when they refer to armor as clothes. "I'm not wearing any clothes" "give me your pants" "I'm taking off my shirt" so much funnier than if they just talked about it normally

didn’t figure out i was autistic at all until my 30s. why? well in a funny twist of what some might call irony but probably isn’t: one of my main special interests since childhood... people. behavior. how folks feel vs how they behave, why they do things, what motivates them. i became a “peacemaker” type as a kid because i could observe an argument between two people and fairly accurately guess how each felt and was able to kind of... do some emotional translation for both of them to help them find an understanding. and BECAUSE of this, people were like “you’re wise/good with people/etc” and for years people also said “that means you’re not autistic, because autism means not being good at socializing”

but like. i’m not? i’m OKAY at socializing. but since childhood i’ve found a lot more success in just being the observer. WATCHING people, paying extremely close attention, that’s what i was good at. i learned early to never TELL people outright i was doing that, people get weird when you say you’re observant and have noticed their behavior/emotions/etc

I don’t regret this being a special interest of mine. It’s been an uphill battle since my 20s to figure out how to be a PART of all that socialization? (and i still feel like i constantly fuck it up, translating the neurotypical habits mid-conversation is much harder than observing it as an outsider and having more time to process it) But... I like that I’m an observer. I like that I can see the clear causes and effects of emotions that people have, their experiences, how it can all bleed together? I like it. I’m glad my childhood brain decided to latch onto the concept of People and humanity in general. It can get frustrating sometimes feeling like the only one in a group of people trying to be considerate of what the others are going through but... I still wouldn’t give that up. I’m glad I’m weird about humans. They’re pretty great actually.

A Gift, A Curse by @elemit - This updates daily most of the time, the author is getting busy IRL but it should be back on a daily update again soon I think. This is one of the darker theme of Ascendant Astarion "50 shades of 'FCKNG LITTLE TWAT' Ancunin" as one of the comment says haha some scenes are "traumatic" but the rollercoaster ride of emotions you'll get on this story is one for the books! ONGOING!

Fangs and Fractured Hearts - by @fangsandfracturedhearts - This one's one of the softer sides of the Ascendant, the dynamic of Tav and Astarion here is exquisite! The cliffhanger on this one just uggghhhhh. i love it!! ONGOING!

Hellish Rebuke by @bludazey this one's a classic! the details on this story is so genius I swear. Also I think a lot of Astarion fanfic writers got inspired with the Devil's dealing here. Also Tav here is effing smart and just chef's kiss! such a great heroine! ONGOING!

His Star - His Queen [Originally titled Across Stars and Time] by ARandomIntrovert - Now this a bit different, What if multiverse exists? Now there's two Astarions fighting over you, Spawn VS Ascendant, where do you think this would go? :)) Story's definitely amazing and unique! I easily got invested. haha ONGOING!

In Another Life by @locallegume - Definitely a softer side of the Ascendant but Tav and Astarion's dynamic here is one of my fave! <3 Tav here is not the overly good role model we usually read, she's troubled too and definitely has effed up issues. but sometimes you just need to find your own freak and be together forever. ONGOING!

Pieces Still Stuck In Your Teeth - by @howlsmovinglibrary / @wetcatspellcaster - The amount of Banter and D&D Lore on this one is superb! you have to watch out for the writer's notes! I love how I get to learn more D&D stuff and godssss how many times I almost got so swayed by the Ascendant here! good thing Tav's so good at bantering haha ONGOING!

Remember ye not the former things by @brabblesblog - THE SEQUEL!! It focuses more on the aftermath and them working out their relationship, a lot more TAV bg story but gods, Astarion here , I just want to smother him with cuddles and kisses, TAKE MEEEEE ONGOING!

It has a sequel!!! - that's how good it is! <3 also The Ascendant here is my favorite! The confrontations are just so real and so true I caaaaan't. He wrote the Ascendant so good I actually sided with him more than Tav! A lot of smut ngl but I got into the characters more that I should have. you're missing out if you haven't read this. COMPLETED!

Most of these are still ongoing but I am updated w/ each, along with other Spawn Astarion fics :)) They are all good! some more soft than the others, some darker and evil :))

Don't be afraid to make your stuilly gross, heart-wrenching, nasty, toxic, bloody... etc. They are two pieces of shit (my beloved pieces of shit) and they are fucked up teens with SO many issues. Of course they are going to be hurtful to each other and that's okay !!! that's fun !!! that's cool !!! they can have their little soft moments with each other but that doesn't mean that there isn't beauty in their filth too. Arguments are fun, yelling at each other is fun, hurting each other is fun, doing dangerous shit to each other because they saw it in a movie is fun, breaking each other's heart is fun, destroying themselves is fun !!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE soft tender stuilly, don't get me wrong but uh. yeah. i love the misery. i want the gunplay, i want the knifeplay, i wanna see them spitting into each other's wounds. They're freaks and they're going to do freaky stuff. That's it. Sometimes it's sad to see how a ship with a HUGE potential to be extreme and dark it's so watered down most of the time. Like- Billy and Stu aren't the cutie patootie baby silly dumb "I dunno what i'm doing i'm murdering people because i'm so silly" type, they are BAD PEOPLE. They don't feel empathy when they kill people. They are aware of the harm they cause and they don't give a fuck about it!! They are killers !!! Ofc i like to scroll thru goofy memes sometimes and stuff like that but the levels of mischaracterization in this fandom are fucking insane.

Why is it so hard for aroace people to just get basic respect

The day Max finally decides to retire, I’m of course going to be upset but I’m genuinely going to be so excited for him. We all know how much he’s looking forward to it and he can finally be free from all the pile ons from media and fans. For the first time he can just do what HE wants, when he wants.

I can already picture it. Him sitting on a beach somewhere with a gin&tonic and probably his own kids running around (while his 100cats are waiting at home). No more diet plans or strict workout routines (which we know he hates) and just living a quiet life surrounded by his family and friends.

He’ll of course go on to probably drive WEC, Le Mans and focus most of his time and money into forging a pathway from sim racing to real life motorsports.

And don’t get me wrong, Max is very clearly passionate about F1 but he hates everything that comes with it- fame, PR, the show element, the exposure. I think when he’s finally ready to leave it behind he’s going to feel a sense of freedom and god damn does he deserve it after everything he’s gone through.

The reason I'm so disappointed with the movie 27 isn't because of the ship! I love kaishin very much but I was always aware that it would never be canon and that was never a real problem. What bothers me about this story is that making these two cousins is forced and breaks several moments and even lines from Gosho himself.

I'll be as brief as possible because I don't want to saturate this topic any longer. It saddens me to see people saying it was something obvious all this time but when you ask why it's always the same argument: they look alike. If it were any other anime this could actually be a clue, but we're talking about an anime everyone looks alike, so it's ridiculous to have just this argument as a basis. In old interviews Gosho when asked about the "similarity" of the kaishin, he said things like wanting to make the shinran a parallel to the kaiao and also said that the kaishin were connected by a strange bond, which was different from any other... I don't think that the bond between cousins ​​is something very different, is actually a pathetic cliché.

Long before this film was even announced, I had already noticed Gosho's disregard for the work and I was afraid that this film would confirm my suspicions (which ended up happening). Detective Conan is currently not as good as he used to be, because Gosho seems to no longer care about the direction of the story, he will only do what pleases the majority of the fandom and thus make money. One of the biggest evidences is the "development" of the main couple, which is horrible, boring and repetitive. It's been 30 years of manga and things are still the same, it's frustrating.

My anger comes from the fact that the more you REALLY look into this cousin kaishin fact, the more forced it seems. I liked Kaishin's unrelated relationship because it was something very unique, now it has become a banal business. I've seen some people saying that now Kaito can reveal his identity to Shinichi and so they can have moments together, which might be good in a way but it would also be so forced and would only prove more and more that Kaito's parents are disgusting.

I ended up saying more than I wanted to, so I'll stop here. At least I hope Kaito (Shinichi too) is really happy by the end of this story...

It is crazy to think that Robb's crown, a piece of jewelry he was meant to gain power from, was also his shroud in a sense, not just metaphorically but also literally.

Catelyn's very first thoughts about the crown is that it presses heavy on Robb's head and kingship, the very thing it represents, is indeed too heavy a burden for a fifteen year old boy to bear. But he wears it regardless, he has no choice, he will wear it even if it crushes him under its weight. It is iron and steel, stronger than gold and silver, Robb points out. But at the end of the day whether it be iron or gold the swords on the crown will not protect him, worse yet they will cut him, and when they do they will cut him deep, just as the iron throne cuts the one who sits on it.

Robb wears the crown for the rest of his short life. Robb is killed with the crown on his head, but it is not his last time wearing it. The last time Robb wears the crown is as it sits upon his corpse, nailed on the head of Grey Wind, sewn into his decapitated, dead body. It has at last become nothing short of his shroud.

And then the last time we see that crown is when we see Lady Stoneheart, who has been driven by nothing but a lust for revenge until now, holding the crown that crushed her son under its weight just as Cat had thought it would the very first time she saw it upon his head. She clutches it, she runs her fingers through the swords and for the first time we see her showing an emotion besides anger, "her eyes glimmered under the hood". It is the last relic of Robb, who she believed to be her last living son, her first and last son. And at the same time it is also the visual signifier of the thing that cost Cat her life, the thing that cost Cat her son.

Since I feel like the only thing I’ve done so far in regards to Bridgerton is rant about it and I do genuinely love it and I am excited for season three so I want to talk about some of my favorite scenes.

The first scene I want to talk about is the one in which I personally fell in love with Colin Bridgerton. In the very first episode, we very quickly see that Penelope is in love with Colin, but the love is unrequited. I feel like unrequited love is such a sticky trope and it’s so easy to mess up and make the object of desire pretty horrible. I actually think the choice to make Colin unaware of Penelope’s feelings is what makes him so endearing. It never feels like he’s taking advantage of her feelings or trying to use them.

You learn very quickly in this scene that Colin is quite fond of Penelope. He lights up when he sees her, even though he’s actually looking for Marina. They are interrupted by Cressida who tries to steal Colin away while also spilling a drink on Penelope.

Colin witnesses this and asks Penelope to dance with him instead. Colin is very sweet in this moment and you can understand why Penelope feels the way she does about him. when I watch the scene for the first time, I was completely unaware of the books and it very much told me that they were end game. While this is very much a moment where Colin is helping Penelope, the thing that is most striking to me is that he is genuinely enjoying himself.

I think this scene sets up their dynamic so well. Yes Colin does not have romantic feelings for Penelope, but it’s very clear that he genuinely cares for her and just enjoys her as a person.  that scene does not come across as him doing her a favor, or an obligation of any sort. It feels very organic and like they are just having fun together like they’ve done so many other times. obviously a lot of this is because of the chemistry between Nicola and Luke, which I can write entire essay about but it’s such a wonderful starting point, and I was completely invested in the relationship from the very first episode

I was looking back at how Kaito revealed himself in the 5th trial and a certain comment caught my interest.

Monokuma already had the hint that it could be Kaito in the Exisal. And the chance of Shuichi's lie actually working is a 50/50 chance but still low with the way Monokuma responded to Shuichi.

Kaito getting the hint that Monokuma was not fooled by Shuichi's lie completely took the bullet and the blame for Shuichi's mistake. And in a way there are players that blame Kaito for this, which is what Kaito wanted since he did say "I'll take full responsibility". Thankfully I've seen Let's Players actually understood that Shuichi's lie wasn't gonna work on Monokuma. It was all left to luck in hoping that Monokuma would get it wrong. And Kaito wasn't gonna gamble on everyone's lives.

So in a way Kaito did take responsibility for Shuichi's mistake here. Shuichi's mistake was revealing the truth and helping Monokuma without a second thought till it was already too late.

Kaito did put everything on Kokichi's plan, believing it could work out but he also knew Shuichi would foil the plan. Kaito still looked at the positive side for Shuichi to keep pushing forward, even though he was minutes away from dying. But the sad truth is that Shuichi did push Kaito to reveal the plan, as Shuichi said he cornered Kaito.

Remember Shuichi is terrified of revealing the truth and this trial could have 100% rebound Shuichi back to being how he was in Chapter 1.

But thankfully Kaito made Shuichi promise him to end the killing game. It paralleled Kaede's trial but showed Shuichi's development. Instead of the quiet meek teen he was in Chapter 1, he now back talks at Monokuma.

Shuichi talking back at Monokuma will always be my favorite, this is what Kaito wanted Shuichi to do in Chapter 1 instead of blaming himself.

I feel like I could write more but I just wanted to throw this little food for thought out there.

I like how Danganronpa V3 doesn't spoon feed to the players. There's just so much to analyze and interpret in the game.

The way Edwin tried to help Simon, the way he told Charles there is nothing they could do for the other souls, it got me thinking. How many times he had tried to save people in his first attempts of escaping hell?

How many times he saw souls who he thought deserved better? How many times the monsters following him caught up with him while he was trying till he finally learned it the hard way that he couldn't help anyone else?

And after what happened with Simon, I can't help but thinking about How many souls managed to forgive themselves after meeting him only to move on after Edwin had run or had been snatched away?

How many souls had Edwin Payne freed from hell without even knowing?
