Sunday Inspo 🙏 I have been working on my relationship with God/Jesus and myself a great deal lately (after allowing it to not be my priority for a while.) Which naturally always brings a declaration of war towards to devil. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. Surrender to Jesus and start trying to do better and watch every obstacle get thrown your way. Satan doesn't want to lose one soul and he will do everything in his power to hold you back and make it harder on you. You will also be tested by God to see how serious you are. So it isn't an easy walk but, it is certainly worth it. Anything worth having isn't going to be easy anyway. I have been working on my anger and unforgiveness. Sometimes you don't even realize how much anger and unforgiveness you have until you start working on being a more righteous person and doing what God asks of you. And, it just so happens that when we ask for things like patience/self control/forgiveness, they aren't just given to us, we are given opportunities to practice those qualities. So I have been getting tested left and right. I haven't been passing very often. But, I'm working on it. All I know is that I would rather please God than any human walking this earth. I would rather be on his side than any other side. I would rather stumble a thousand times, if it meant spending eternity with God. Those aren't just 90's lyrics to a Suzy Bogguss (Judy Collins) song. Definitely not the easiest way. But, I've never done things the easy way. I do things the right way. . . . As you get closer in your walk with God, Satan will do everything in his power to knock you off your path. It never fails. When I am wondering around mindelessly, my life is pretty easy and simple. I don't get the things I want and my heart is not at peace but, it just runs smoother. Smoother is not good enough. Smooth is not what I want. I want peace and happiness. I want all that I deserve. Still Needs to Be Said

Long ago, there was a homeless guy who hung out with prostitutes, terrorists, traitors, and day-laborers, and his family said he was crazy. He lived by couch-surfing with friendly people, donations from those who supported his work, and ate food he foraged sometimes. He said stuff that pissed off a lot of people.

Once, after a religious expert asked him who counted as a neighbor (and was deserving of being loved and treated as well as one's self) he told this story;

A guy was on a journey when he was jumped by robbers. They beat him and stole his clothes and left him naked in the road, too injured to move. A pastor walked by and saw the injured man, but he didn't stop. He actually crossed to the other side of the road. A deacon came along later, but he walked by too. Then a despised ethnic and religious minority guy came by and saw the injured man. He gave him first aid and bundled him into his car and took him to a hotel and made him comfortable. In the morning, he gave the hotel owner two days' wages worth of money and told him to put any expenses the injured man ran up on his tab.

Then the homeless man asked his audience which of the three men had been a neighbor to the injured man. The religious expert said, "The one who helped him" and the homeless man said that the religious expert should do the same.
