Saphire Lobster Cookie, a ranger of immence potential.
Bonus+ content under the cut (i spent a lot of time working on things worth sharing)
Tumblr media
Soulstone description (Notes: She doesn't hold on to them in a bad light. She just thinks about it whenever she looks at the sea for long.)
Tumblr media
Saphire Lobster Cookie's younger looks. (Notes: I only drew her as a baby and 6/11 y/o because they're the only past appearances with a crucial piece of info that's important to her story. -- Her 11 y/o self is when after she started doing ballet.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Relationship charts. (Notes: Frilled Jellyfish Cookie is there for a reason, don't worry.)
Tumblr media
Moodboard (Notes: I want the moodboard of my crk ocs to have a story to tell with only a quote left as a vague key element. I'll leave it at that).

First Wet Beast Wednesday of the year! So without further ado…
All animals will behave as they would in the wild (or as close to for all extinct species) except that your defender(s) will not cause friendly fire. However, any attempt to attack and/or eat your defender(s) will cause them to turn on you.

Stingrays. (We got to pet 'em! We also got to pet sea stars and sturgeons, but I didn't get pictures.)
Moon Jellies.
Sea stars.
Potbellied seahorses.
It wasn't a rock—it was a Rock Lobster!
Weedy seadragons, my beloveds.
Turtles (tortoises?).

Decided to challenge myself by drawing every single TLK character out there, up until this point in time, and post it here. You can see the finished project on my main account, though I figured to post it on my tumblr just show I could proudly show off my work and a few of my head canons.
Here's all the cold-blooded creatures across TLK:
Starting off again with TLG we have Kinyonga(chameleon) the veiled chameleon, Nowyouseeme/Nyusi(eyebrows) the Fischer chameleon from "The Missing Monkey", though ironically lacking eyebrows, Flap-necked chameleon Rock'n'cha/Chacha(strong) from Operation Pridelands, and the Jackson's chameleon seen in the gorge during the Lion King Ulimu(tongue). Kinyonga has since used her talents for espionage and disguise as part of Zazu's crew of scouts and reporters. Nyusi is the leader of a group of chameleons at the Oasis, part of which Chacha was temporarily of after fleeing the Pridelands after Scar's reign, though he does frequently come back as he is known as a sort of party animal/popstar among creatures. Chacha is also my favorite design, love how his disco-fever look translated here. As for Ulimu, he's a spiteful little guy. During the stampede, he was witness to everything, from seeing Simba dangling on a branch to Scar knocking Zazu out and then overthrowing the head monarch into the wildebeest stampede off a cliff, and then seeing Simba rushing down to see his father's body, Scar's manipulation, and the order for the hyenas to hunt him down. Reason why he didn't spill the beans is because he was too upset at Simba practicing his roar on him and spooking him away, plus he didn't know it was the prince and he had stumbled upon a royal coup... would've been a pretty different story if he did tell his side of the story.
First up on the non-chameleon lizards we have our most famous villainous one; Ora/Oraib(keen-Arabic). Since we're sticking to Africa, no Komodo dragons, instead we have Nile monitors. While not as infamous, venomous, or large as those Indonesian reptiles, Nile monitors are still nothing to slack on, with powerful tail whips, aggressive demeanors, quick speed, and did I mention they also swim? Yeah Lumba-Lumba ain't getting away that easy, even when she's back in the water. He and his group of lizards are on an island that is inbound, but is part of a river that leads out to the sea where Lumba-Lumba lives. Due to some shenanigans, the guard ends up trapped on the island with Ora and his friends and have to avoid getting overtaken while also protecting their new dolphin friend. After that Ora decided to follow after Kion and crew, joining up with Makucha's army, however ends up getting severely injured in the final fight, eventually leaving Makucha's army soon after. And before anyone asks, I am accepting that he did spew blood out during "The Lake of Reflection" after biting Beshte, part from the hippo's bloodstream and part from a few of his teeth getting pulled out. Beshte did end up getting a nasty scar on his leg from that since monitor lizards do have very powerful bites.
Following with the trend of villainous and Nile Monitor lizards, though not necessarily both, we have Kenge(monitor lizard) the rock monitor and Nile monitor Iggy/Igani(confession). Since Kenge is mention as being a friend of Ushari prior to his introduction, my notion for him is that Kenge is actually from the Pridelands and knew Ushari growing up. However, due to a combination of a severe Napoleon complex, a short temper and a venomous bite, he was exiled during the start of Simba's reign to prevent any difficulties during the rebuilding process. Kenge has a deep hatred for the Pridelanders and was more then willing to help Scar's army when his old friend Ushari reached out to help take down the ones who had made life hard for them. His character/design are pretty cool, so I've decided to keep him as is. Igani on the other hand is a deleted character from King of the Jungle, presumably a Nile monitor based off the small amount of scrap designs, and was meant to be a friend of Simba and co. In my verse he is a friend of Simba in the Oasis and actually moves to the Pridelands after Simba becomes king. In spite of his appearance and species' reputation, Iggy is an honest, relatively harmless soul. Sure he is still a predator and his swift moving can be terrifying for some, but as far as reptiles go, Iggy is a positive representation of reptiles living within the Circle of Life.
And continuing with positive lizard depictions we have William's dwarf gecko and honorary crocodile, Hodari(clever, smart). I was pretty surprised of how his cartoon design is actually what his real-world species looks like, but I ain't complaining. Well, I will about their critically endangered status, due to the illegal pet trade, though you came here for fun, not to feel bad about the world we live in. So donate or whatever if you want to, don't if you don't want to, no judging, just enjoy the designs and interpretations I have for you. And yes, I am including him twice, once with the crocodiles and now with this. His fascination for crocodiles and wanting to join their float come from an event where his and his siblings clutch were laid next to a crocodile nest. Despite the worry of getting crushed by mama croc, surprisingly she was rather chill about the neighboring egg clutch and even allowed safety and protection by her next, in exchange for Hodari's mama keeping an eye out for egg-eaters. After Hodari and his siblings were born, they were informed about their crocodile neighbor and her kind, strong good deed, thus beginning an interest in the much bigger lizard inside the young gecko, which turned into genuine desire to be like and join the crocodile floats.
Next up are the skinks, lead by Shupavu(tough), with her mate Njano(yellow), and fellow skinks Nyata(sneak along/stalk), Nyeusi(black), and Waza(assume), Chapa(mark), and Yara(wound). Yara and Chapa are my names given to the ones we never hear talk, though are shown in some scenes. I tried to do some research into skinks to find their species, and while I could narrow some down like Shupavu being a fire skink, Nyusi an African striped skink, and Chapa a sandfish skink, the rest they could be anything from an emerald tree skink to a Christmas island blue-tailed skink, none of which are native to Africa. In the end, like the vultures and hornbills, I've decided to just leave their designs mostly the way they are, mostly since I don't care to see if each skink has a real-world variant. Although, knowing some info on reptile pattern/coloring/study of animal coloration, there is a possibility each one's colors/patterns could exist in real life... hmm. Also I am curious whether or not these guys could lose their tails like many skinks do... that probably bE FuN FoR ThE KiDdIeS... and a nice snack for the carnivores. Anyways, considering skinks are opportunistic feeders, I have no doubt Kinyonga would've been skink food if the Lion Guard weren't hiding nearby. Anyways, I headcanon that Shupavu is, like Kenge, originally a Pridelanders, however seeing Kenge's exile and the strict laws on predators like crocodiles in the rebuilding Pridelands let her see the unfairness and bias towards predators, so she moved to the Outlands to avoid prejudice. There she also found several other skinks and they formed their own little group, however when Ushari found her and asked her to spy on the Pridelands for the Outlander army in exchange for a favorable outcome in the Pridelands, she and her group accepted. After the final battle, both her group and Kenge left the Outlands, unable to cope with the defeat and surrender, and instead work together as a pack/circulus/lounge. It is my humble opinion that they would've been a just as good or even better group of antagonists in Makucha's army instead of Ora, and when Ora does leave along with several other members from Makucha's army, Kenge and Shupavu's group are there to replace them and get revenge on Kion and his Tree of Life home.
Wrapping up the reptiles with the shelled species we have Kongwe(ancient, very old). Personally I am so glad they made her an African spurred tortoise and gave her such a large size, since those guys are the third largest tortoise species in the world and a personal favorite of mine, having gotten to 'walk' and feed these guys in real life. Their shells are pretty sensitive and they do love it when you scratch them, especially when they're itchy/shedding. And now for our adorable amphibians adorning our ancient... okay no more alliterations; here's  Chura(frog/toad) from the Lion Guard and Gozi/Ngozi(skin) from Operation Pridelands. Chura is a waterlily reed frog(instead of the frog the wiki says which doesn't make any sense to me, that is literally just a frog), a pretty common and tiny species. Kinda hoped for an Angolan reed frog or painted/marbled reed frog, but Chura is a good frog no matter what. Gozi is a Natal forest tree frog, a species that's threatened by habitat loss in both the real world and, in this universe, she is. Unlike most of the other animals in the game, Gozi is native to the Oasis, though when many animals from the Pridelands fled to the oasis for refuge, they unfortunately caused quite a bit of change in the ecosystem, affecting her home and forcing her to constantly move in order to avoid being squished. She unfortuanutely moved to an area she thought was safe and entered in a small period of hibernation* like most frogs, only to realize when she had woken up her spot had been encased around a termite mound, Though the termites provided her with some food, she needed help to get out, which is where Timon and Pumbaa came in and assisted, before taking back several of the animal that forced her to move out too.
Next is Sal Mander/Salama(safe) from the Timon & Pumbaa Show's episode "You Bet Your Tuhkus". In the episode he's a corrupt game show host that seemingly hates cheaters, but actually likes them for the show ratings, something which starts to get in between Timon and Pumbaa as they participate on the show. Here he's just a North African fire salamander.. that's it. Almost didn't include him until I did one last look over the wiki. At least we have three amphibians now... unless someone finds someone else.
Edit: So scrolling through the TLG wiki made me realize there were a few unnamed reptiles, frogs and cold-blooded sea-creatures I missed, so I decided to post-add them here. First off is one of the tree frogs from "Poa the Destroyer" seen chilling on Kion like that one photo of frogs chilling on the back of a swimming tiger. This one is named Mubiza(call) and they're an African tree frog. The male turtle she's standing on is the one seen during "Bunga the Wise". His name is Tofali(brick) and he's a ploughshare tortoise. I know the wiki says turtle, but the shell and feet are just so tortoise. So yeah, tortoise.
Next are a pair of rainbow agamas: Vinati(vinagrette-Yoruba) and Yakini(certain), seen in the Outlands during "The Travelling Baboon Show". This pair and a mouse witness Uroho's act after he and his troop are chased out of the Pridelands, but none of them are entertained and rudely hisses at him when he finishes. They then run away when Cheezi and Chungu arrive. My theory is that they're sisters and have very high performance standards.
Next we go into the sea and get our first official turtle, the green sea turtles from "Dragon Island", one of which I've named Teku(sea-Hausa). And since I love making these lists ridiculously hard and big, I've decided to add the other sea creatures we see in the episode; the mimic octopus, South African cold-water lobster, West African seahorses, Benguela compass jelly, African red crab, fish** and a shortfin devil ray on the side. I know jellyfish don't have blood, or even a circulatory system, but come on, they're most definitely cold-blooded. Also South African cold-water lobsters are apparently very delicious and also not naturally red, only turn red when boiled, hence why they're brown and mottled here.
Also I decided to sneak in two more sea life characters. First are the piranhas from the Timon and Pumbaa Show, now the much larger, much more fearsome goliath tiger fish/mbenga. A bit of a meh entry, though it was literally last on my list of wiki pages. Terrifying in real-life, considered the African equivalent for the piranha. Perhaps this is what Tantor was really thinking of when he was asking his mother about potential piranhas in the water. Also they're known as the "greatest freshwater gamefish in the world", and have also been recorded to attack and catch birds in flight, as well as attack humans. Also we have Bruce/Buraik(blessed) the crab, an African blue swimming crab from "Back Out in the Outback". Nit much to say about him, but I HC that he's a friend of Lumba-Lumba.

Mortality is stored in the spine.
Example 1:
Tumblr media
No spine and can’t die of old age
Example 2:
Tumblr media
No spine and, instead of dying of old age, reverts back to a teeny tiny polyp to go through the whole process of puberty again.
Therefore, mortality is stored in the spine. RIP, vertebrates. Live long and prosper, invertebrates
