you all aren't going to make me dislike CIRIE'S season of big brother just because they are back dooring a guy who won three competitions in two weeks and who speaks down to everyone he talks to. the cardinal rule of pre-jury big brother is to not win too many competitions. the writing was on the wall i fear. sure it's looking like this could be a Cirie steam roll but she sure isn't making it a boring one!
#bb25#idk like the cast is kinda goated#aside from jared tate luke and red#izzy felicia meme cory and america have got to be some of the best casting choices in awhile#you might not see the vision for america yet but i do

i always wondered if they knew when they casted that sam had this dark future ahead of him and that they needed an actor who could do both, being a cute little brother but then beef up and have that scary menacing look in the eyes and i wonder if they saw it in jared the first time
#i mean i think j2 were the only ones to show up for audition so there wasn't really any choice#but still#what a coincidence he was able to pull it off so well#it reminds me of what george lucas said about casting anakin#it had to be an actor who had that dark presence peaking through#i'm rambling again sorry guys#musings#jared padalecki

I really need to find other Jared people who are Walker antis because man oh man I don’t like that show (yes, I’ve seen every episode. Yes, it is bad. I watch it because I miss Jared and because I want to support the sea-change he’s encouraging within the industry in re working conditions. That doesn’t make the writing not suck nor the acting choices not make my skin crawl.)
I feel like the entire fandom has been trying to gaslight me into thinking that the show is somehow ~incredible television~ for the past three years and uhhhhhhhhhhh. You all don’t really believe that, do you? Honestly, in your heart of hearts? I mean, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it. Hell, I enjoy The Amazing Race which is a total waste of time and lying garbage. You can enjoy bad tv, just don’t try to sell me that it’s something it ain’t.
#anti Walker#pro Jared Padalecki#anti Jared Padalecki's acting choices in Walker#Cordell is a nothing character and it bums me out#it's perfectly serviceable for the CW#but I don't understand how you can't watch it AND Walker: Independence and not see the MARKED DIFFERENCE in quality of the writing???#Walker has lasted as long as it has because 1) Jared is the lead and 2) the cast is extremely likable#the trajectory of the show itself is YIKES#ridiculous

The C(r)ozier Cowl (with pattern!)
I FINALLY DID IT, and I'm so incredibly pleased with how it turned out (it's also maybe the warmest scarf I've ever knit, the Terror costume design people knew what they were doing)
Details and pattern below the cut, along with more pics!
Details:
This infinite loop cowl is a knit recreation of the scarf/cowl worn by Captain Francis Crozier in the first season of the tv show The Terror (2018).
The choice of yarn is, in my opinion, very important to the accuracy of the result. The pattern is quite simple, so getting the right yarn makes a big impact. My suggested yarn is below.
This is knitted in seed stitch at a very tight gauge, using a worsted weight yarn on size 4 needles. This produces a gauge consistent with the scarf from the show (did I measure Jared Harris’ eye and use it to calculate gauge from a photo of Crozier wearing the scarf? MAYBE SO). It makes the knitting a little hard on the hands, but the resulting fabric is DELIGHTFUL—super dense, and since the cowl is knit as a tube it's double thick and, in my experience, nearly entirely windproof. THIS IS A VERY WARM COWL!
After looking at too many screenshots, I ultimately determined that the article in the show is in fact a scarf (you can see the edge VERY briefly in one shot). However, I have designed my version as a tube cowl, as it more easily reproduces the look of the article as worn in the show (doubled over and in a continuous loop around the neck with no edges visible). You could produce a scarf instead by knitting this flat instead of in the round—cast on the same number of stitches with a long tail cast on, and then only knit/repeat row 1 (consider adding a seldvege edge).
If you have questions or want tips, or just want to show me what you made, hit me up!! I’d love to chat.
Materials:
3 skeins (approx. 660 yards) Cascade 220 Heathers in color 2445 Shire (google it to find purchasing options, or ask your local yarn store to order it!)
Size 4 needles; either 16 inch circulars or double-pointed
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
Instructions:
Provisional CO 72 stitches on size 4 16-inch circular (or double pointed) needles to work in the round. Place marker.
Row 1: k1 p1
Row 2: p1 k1
Repeat until cowl measures approximately 54 inches (4.5 feet; 137 cm) or desired length.
Unpick provisional cast-on, placing live stitches on any spare circular needles or dpns. Kitchener stitch ends together (tutorial for doing so in pattern here).
Wear as a single or double loop.
Now go have some glorious homoerotic tension with your second in command!
#the terror#knitting#francis crozier#my knitting#knitting pattern#I have been wearing this scarf constantly since i finished it#it's incredibly warm and i also love the extremely subtle nod to the show#it makes me feel like an undercover super fan every time i step outside

★ A3! 8th Anniversary | MANKAI Company’s Second Special Performance - “The Blessing of Le Cadeau”
They were given two endings—eternity or momentary pain.
Summary
In the great sea lays a small island, protected by four great countries and a sacred island. Because many writers have lived there since ancient times and countless works have been produced there, the island has come to be known as "the island where stories are born." It is there that stories are created constantly.
In order to preserve and pass on the stories, an academy was founded to train librarians—Le Cadeau Academy.
This year, twelve new students will arrive at this traditional and prestigious academy. With one unfinished book given to them as proof of admission and their own aspirations, they take the first step toward becoming librarians.
However, there is a "secret" hidden within the school. A secret that gives them choices and determines the ending of the story. Now, is the ending it spells out a happy one? Or...
Cast
Aubrey played by Sakuma Sakuya / Tenma Sumeragi
"Come on, let's go! To stories yet to be seen—."
The youngest. His origin is that his grandmother read picture books to him when he was a child. He's honest, charming, and people around him always want to take care of him in any way they can.
Kieran played by Tsumugi Tsukioka / Banri Settsu
"I plan to be a great hero by the time I graduate from here!"
A childhood friend of Jared. He's a young man brimming with curiosity. He's fascinated by the kinds of heroes you see in stories. He's come to confirm the rumor that "librarians never age."
Kenneth played by Tsuzuru Minagi / Kazunari Miyoshi
"I can't believe I've been spotted by royalty of all people. Haha, my school life is over, huh?"
The class president. He had the misfortune of being nominated as class president, even though he had planned to graduate unnoticed. He's diligent to his core and tries his best to do the work that is asked of him properly.
Amalia played by Yuki Rurikawa / Azuma Yukishiro
"There's a book I'm looking for. Ever since before I even stepped foot in this place. All I remember is it's binding."
A woman with a thoughtful personality who always takes a step back and surveys her surroundings. She'll never forget a book she once came across in a small bookstore that she went to when she was little. She was going to save up to buy it, but the book becomes no longer available when the bookstore closes. She's been looking for that book ever since.
Leroy played by Muku Sakisaka / Citron
"I started writing stories... because I wanted a chance to get to know my older brother."
Gordon's gentle younger brother who's a friend to everyone. He feels more than a little indebted to his older brother, and as a result, he has the personality of someone who is more concerned about his surroundings. He is often attentive and keeps his balance in the moment. He began writing stories in the hope that they would help him restore his relationship with his brother, but he has yet to show him any of his works.
Gordon played by Kumon Hyodo / Omi Fushimi
"...Do you enjoy sharing with others? It's so strange, I've never had a conversation like this with someone before."
Leroy's older brother. Once Leroy was born, their parents stopped caring about him, and he used books to fill his loneliness. Because of that, he's somewhat introverted and not very talkative. At best, he's a hassle-free boy. He's puzzled inside, not understanding why his younger brother, who has so many friends, came to the academy with him. (He isn't aware of it, but he's worried that Leroy will take the story away from him, just as he took their parents away from him.)
Joachim played by Juza Hyodo / Sakyo Furuichi
"I've memorized all of your faces. Prepare yourselves for the year ahead."
Royalty. The third prince of the Kingdom of Le Cadeau, which oversees the academy. He enrolls to fulfill his royal duties in other ways, as he will not inherit the throne due to where he stands in the hierarchy. He was hit somewhat hard by Kenneth, who thought that since Joachim had the highest status among the students at the academy, he'd naturally be the one chosen as the class president.
Henrick played by Taichi Nanao / Guy
"All people need is a single story."
There is just one story he'll never forget. He has an aspiration to have as many people as possible encounter books such as he did. He's somewhat narrow-minded and self-righteous. He hopes to encounter only one book in his lifetime that will change his life. He and Meredith tend to clash with one another due to their different values.
Meredith played by Masumi Usui / Chikage Utsuki
"I just love each and every story that's been born into this world."
He loves all stories. The same holds true for how he feels about people. For that reason, Henrick thinks of him as being shallow, and they clash about everything.
Jared played by Azami Izumida / Homare Arisugawa
"It's too ominous to have a black cat pass right in front of you just as you're about to enter school... This must be a warning. This better not unravel some kind of mystery..."
A childhood friend of Kieran's. A gloomy young man. He enrolls after Kieran gets involved. Because he's afraid of librarians not aging, he doesn't want to get involved with them. He tends to think negatively.
Vance played by Tasuku Takato / Misumi Ikaruga
"You wanted to see me? Sure thing. This is gonna be a fun school year."
The student council vice president. He loves mischief and loves having fun. Thinks being vice president sounds fun, so he agrees to do it without any real consideration. He saw a librarian using magic when he was a kid and thought that life would be more fun if he could learn to do it, so he enrolled at the academy.
Abel played by Hisoka Mikage / Itaru Chigasaki
"I don't like being left behind."
He enrolled for one purpose. He gets good grades and is sociable. He behaves as a problem-free student and is trusted by both students and teachers.

Tracey rambles about Tron Ares again
Tron Ares fills me with so much dread, each passing day is like a countdown to the death of a franchise I care so much about.
The producer, title & main character, is literally Joker Morbius alleged pedophile since the early 2000s himself Jared Leto. That alone ruins the movie for me, and yet every following bullet point makes everything about and around it so much worse.
-Premise is explicitly "What if the Grid came to the real world".
NO, the interesting part of the series is THE GRID, where all of the deeply meditative commentary about our world and visually interesting splendor is supposed to be! Yes we had the lingering plot thread of Quorra coming to our world, however;
-Nothing directly tied to Tron Legacy is specifically being followed up
So no seeing where Sam Flynn could have taken Encom, no Quorra adjusting to our world, No Edward Dillinger Jr scheming with the resurrected MCP; But most disrespectfully of all, they didn't even bother to get Bruce Boxleitnter back, THE GUY WHO PLAYS TRON (and Alan Bradly & Rinzler). The one guy who actively loved this series and campaigned for a Third Tron film for over a decade, and previously Tron Legacy for even longer. But you know who they are bringing back?
-Kevin Flynn is back
THE GUY WHO FUCKING DIED IN THE LAST MOVIE. Undermining the noble sacrifice that was integral to the core themes of the film.
And just today we got this:
This is so far from an advancement design wise of the Light Cycle from either film. None of the simple shape language of the original. None of the sleek visual melding of human & technology of Legacy. While the light cycle was always cool for being a futuristic video game-ass motorcycle, its was just one of the multitude of visual elements that served the thematic purposes of Tron flawlessly.
Meanwhile, this not only physically separates the driver from the cycle, they further emphasize it through all the little gaps where there were none on either prior design. They so easily could've had the red line on Ares connect into the obviously aligned part of the bike.
Even if this is meant to show the separation of the programs from the grid for some thematic element we're unaware of at the moment, we're already going to be getting a lot of that considering the movie takes place in an average ass city.
Also, to be truly nitpicky, it looks really uncomfortable to sit in & I don't like all the added greebles.
To circle back around, what I really hate about the cast, besides the obvious one, is that there are a lot of actors who I think will work extremely well in the world of Tron. Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, Evan Peters? Inspired casting choices.
Meanwhile production wise we're literally taking David Fincher's collaborator trifecta. Jeff Cronenweth (Cinematographer), Tyler Nelson (Editor), and Trent Reznor (Composer, backed up by Nine Inch Nails) all worked on The Social Network, another one of my favorite films. Jeff is literally the son of Blade Runner's cinematographer, Nelson was co-editor on The Batman, a film with incredible pacing thanks to their hardwork, and while I'm not the most familiar with Reznor's full body of work, I've sincerely liked everything I've heard and think in conjunction with Jeff & Tyler he will make something fantastic and fitting for the tone of this film.
However, the screenplay is done by the writer of Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, and is being handled by the director of Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Choices that feel at odds with the prestige praise I was just handing out a paragraph ago.
Theres so many good elements that are eclipsed by its central glaring protagonist, seeming lack of the interesting setting/designs or integral thematic elements that I look for in Tron, and lack of expectation regarding the choice of director & writers.
Because my two greatest fears are not about if the movie is awful and destroys the franchise as I'm expecting it could, it's either:
What if the movie is genuinely good? Well acted and performed, somehow actually has the same level of philosophical inquiry that Legacy & Identity have? How am I gonna face that reality with the enormous horrific issue starring in it?
What if the movie is bad in everyway that I think it will be, but does financially and/or critically better than the first two? The franchise is not killed again, but revives and bases everything going forward around this awful outlier in the series?
Unless this movie fails so horrifically that Disney wants to scrub it from existence, as they tend to do, the future of any Tron media will undeniably be forced to cohere itself to the existence of Ares.
If you want something that actually expands on the musings and universe of Tron, play Tron Identity. A game so lovingly crafted for fans of those elements of Tron as a connected series. And I know this factually, as the writer of the game itself (who also created Thomas Was Alone) watched my twitch stream of it and confirmed my ramblings about the deep seeded lore and intent of design of the TREES that appear in the game. Only one example of the incredible attention to detail the game delivers on. Plus its also getting a sequel that unlike Ares, I'm awaiting with bated breath.

Mel audiodrama rec list!
I'm gay sad and picky, read into that how you may - in no real order - heed each show's TWs
RED VALLEY!! LOVE THIS SHOW TO DEATH. Great beginner audiodrama, such excellent audio and writing and chemistry and woayfhhtm. Cried a lot. A good amount of existential dread. Ough
Woe.begone: lots of wbg brainrot as of late. Genuinely the most scary podcast ever to me - but only if you think about it. Don't get too attached to the ARG format of the first season. Its long, a mind fuck, and not for everyone. It took me 2 tries over a year and a half to lock in properly. Best consumed in a binge as to keep the plot threads fresh in mind. Great discord server <3 cried a lot too
The Grotto: Wbg has great music but Grottos hits different. It makes me want to teeth. I adore the writing personally, but be OK with your pov character sort of being a toxic person. He's trying he really is. This show portrays nuances of grief and mental health issues so well imo. Also great discord server <3
The Kingmaker Histories: Very very charming writing and world building. The world building is alternate history in a way that the fantastical elements occur to you naturalistically as you listen. Lovely lovely cast. Self aware about its tropes and excellently uses em to their advantage. Acknowledges a lot of the darker facets of history in an almost satirical manner to its absolute benefit
The Bright Sessions: Was actually my first full audiodrama! Was obsessed with it for a while. A good comfort listen imo, it's character chemistry is definitely a strong suit; a very human look at fantastical people
Fawx & Stallion: Narm-y but so genuinely charming. I absolutely love the casting choices, I think they're all so perfect for the characters. I'd almost call it a satire played straight, where the main characters behave in nearly caricature levels of eccentricity, but their consequences are shockingly grounded. It's pleasant! Can't wait for the next season
Ethics Town: I'm a philosophy sociology student, legally cannot not recommend. It subverted my expectations for what the format of the story would be tbh! In a neutral way, it just took me by surprise the first time. The world building is very fun and relatively unique, it gets you attached in a way that can really make your stomach drop
The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality: SO GOOD AND SO SLEPT ON!! I loved this show so much, its one of those that leave you craving for something to hit you the same way it did. One of my favourite anthology shows, mainly because of how interlinked the over all plot is to all of it, all while keeping the stories so fresh and invigorating. Listen to it!!!
SCP: Find Us Alive: The characters and cast are excellent; and I like how strained and tense the relationships between them get! It's not necessarily comfortable to listen to, but it's investing and leaves you on edge just like the characters would be. I like their personal lives breaching the strict professionalism of their work gradually. No prior knowledge of SCP really necessary
Jar of Rebuke: Really poignant in the alienation it portrays. I love the way Jared experiences the world and himself; his understanding of his own gender, the way that his innate abilities don't correlate to those of others, the way that he never feels quite like he's saying the right thing, it's all such mfmfjdndmdm good show. Unfortunately audio does sometimes tick off my sensory issues
Neighborly: I LOVE GOTHIC HORROR SO MUCH OH MY GOD. I love the narrative structure and the domestic horror of this show. The ambiance and the dreamy story telling all excellent. The one issue I have is that listening to it with headphones REALLY fuck with my sensory issues :((
Blake Skye Private Eye: Really slept on imo! The exaggerated noir setting and pacing are great, unfortunately the audio leveling does mess with my sensory issues :( is someone willing to lend me a better auditory system
Shelterwood: As aforementioned I LOVE GOTHIC HORROR SO MUCH. THE SUBLIME. THE DOMESTIC SUSPENCE. LOVE THAT SHIT. I really love the sound design here. Characters are so so real. Love them. Can't wait for more
Keep it Steady: Fuck fuck fuck man. I cried most of the way through heart brockoken this is so good I love it cant wait for more.
Speed round for podcasts I like to throw on for light hearted (to me) quick, queer fluff
- Love and Luck
- Kaleidotrope
- The Two Princes
- The Lavender Tavern
- Tales from the Low City
- Monstrous Agonies
#If you've got any to share PLEASE DO!!!#podcast recommendations#lgbtqia#Red Valley#woe.begone#the grotto podcast#the kingmaker histories#the bright sessions#fawx & stallion#ethics town#the mistholme museum of mystery morbidity and mortality#scp find us alive#jar of rebuke#neighborly#shelterwood#Blake skye private Eye#keep it steady

Hellers are, as ever, their own worst enemies.
They actively made the choice to pretend the only thing Jensen ever said about the finale was his commentary about initially having some reservations. They actively made the choice to wildly extrapolate that into him hating the finale and especially the barn scene which he is traumatized by because Dean was totally ~*suicidal*~ over Castiel ... despite everything else he's said and how fucking dumbass of a take that is. They actively made the choice to believe, apropos of nothing but their own hot air, that the only reason he wants to bring Dean Winchester back in a revival is to make their ship canon, because that is the actual tragedy of his death.
So whenever we have a weekend like this?
Where in one panel, on his own initiative, Jensen reiterates the barn scene is one of his favorite scenes that he (and Jared) got to add unscripted content to, allowing them to really dive into the emotion and make it theirs? Where in a completely different panel, Jensen brings up the finale as one of his favorite darkest episodes because of the contrast between Dean being in his happy place and then dying doing what he loves? Pointedly saying he thinks that makes for good tv? Where he only brings up Misha/Castiel to joke about being unable to remember his name (twice) and joke that 4x01 is another darkest episode because he joined the cast then? Where he and Jared are perfectly happy to do barn scene recreation ops yet again?
Of course they throw tantrums at the (inevitably temporary) intrusion of reality into their delusions. They could just enjoy their ship and be happy with all their fandom content, but nope! They'd rather lie to themselves and each other and play out this same absurd scenario time and time and time again.

Ryan Kopel as Evan Hansen is one of the most incredible casting choices made in the world of theatre, and I need to talk about it.
Before I start, I want to preface by saying that I understand that Evan is a complex autistic-coded character. That being said, though, I really do see parts of myself in his character ... and especially in Ryan's portrayal of him. As someone that also has pretty severe anxiety and is autistic, it was really refreshing to see someone similar to myself, and my struggles, on the stage played with so much care and delicacy.
Ryan's Evan stims, he walks on his toes, he struggles with eye contact, he stutters over his words, he doesn't pick up on Jared's jokes and he looks visibly lost whenever he can't think of the right thing to say (or anything to say). And the thing that I found most interesting about his portrayal was the mask that he gave Evan whenever he spoke to the Murphys. He forced himself to speak even when he was struggling, and his voice would change to a deeper, more socially acceptable tone. His posture would change entirely, his stimming would become more subtle (little tugs at his shirt or strokes of his fingers) and he'd appear more confident, even though we, as the audience, know that he isn't.
Masking is something that I rarely see portrayed right, but Ryan as Evan did it so well. And I cannot get over it. I will not get over it.
And then there's the overstimulation that we see Evan Hansen go through: he puts his hands up over his ears, with his eyes darting around the room for an escape while bouncing on his toes and flailing around. His 'Words Fail' was on a whole other planet - the desperation in his voice and the genuine pain as he screamed the words. Oh. My. God. I'm never recovering.
I think my favourite thing, and the most important message that I've taken away from the show, is that Evan Hansen doesn't mask in the final scenes. He's completely himself. And that's okay. That's absolutely okay. You don't have to lie or change yourself to live and you will always be found.
Anyway, thank you to Ryan Kopel for (once again) taking so much care with the characters that you play. It really did make me feel found.
#dear evan hansen#ryan kopel#uk tour#deh#you will be found#evan hansen#autistic#actually autistic#i know evan is a complex character#but i just really love seeing autistic coded characters on stage#it makes me feel so seen#and its so important#autistic evan hansen#if i had a nickel everytime ryan kopel played one of my favourite autistic characters id have two nickels#im still not over his davey jacobs#i never will be

Interview: Jared Padalecki on Walker Season 4, The Show’s Future & More
KSITETV’S CRAIG BYRNE: What can you tease about The Jackal, particularly in relation to his history with certain characters?
JARED PADALECKI: The Jackal is a serial killer who haunted then-Ranger James and Ranger Walker five years prior when they were partners, and before Ranger James became Captain James. The Jackal, and his choice of kills and the victims he left behind, really tortured and tormented James and he took it personally. We were never able to solve it, and the Jackal;s case went cold, and we have kind of assumed he had died or stopped or something. And then, as we found out during James’s wedding of all times, someone with a similar M.O. to the Jackal surfaced, and because of how dark it sent James five years prior, Trey and Walker decide to look into it low-key with Detective Luna from Corpus Christi, who Walker and James had worked with back in the day.
We find out in Season 4 that sure enough, the Jackal is back, And so, Walker finds himself stuck in a position. We’ve learned in the first three seasons that keeping secrets among Rangers is not a great idea, but Walker thinks he’s doing what’s best for James. He doesn’t want to him spiraling. James just went on his honeymoon, and he’s married, and he’s going well. Maybe it’s nothing. Maybe this is a coincidence. But we soon seem to settle that it is the original Jackal, and the Jackal is back. Walker takes it on himself to save James from that same torment that he went through five years ago., but the question is how much can Walker take on on James’ behalf, without falling prey to the same feelings himself?
Twitter made me ask you this: Is there any chance that The Jacckal might be played by an actor that you’ve referred to as “Jackles” before?
[LAUGHS] No. All But that’s a great question!
The readers of KSiteTV loved Walker Independence, and it’s great that hopefully we’ll be seeing more of Justin Johnson Cortez as Detective Luna. Is there any chance we might see more people from the show in new roles in the present day, or maybe another Hoyt flashback?
JARED: Let’s say yes. We will be seeing some of our our Windy family. We loved the show as well.
And is there any chance we’ll see those classic characters again?
The answer, again, is yes.
Jensen [Ackles] and I used to have something funny during Supernatural. We did several seasons with 23 episodes, and we likened it to sports analogies. We’d be like “you know, if you’re going to shoot 23 three pointers during a game, you’re not going to make ’em all. If you’re gonna drive the lane 23 times, or go to bat 23 times, then you’re gonna put some air balls. You’re gonna strike out sometimes. But with 13 episodes, they’re all knockouts. They’re all home runs.
We didn’t waste any time this year [on Walker]. We have 13 episodes to make an amazing season of television. I’m on set right now shooting the finale, and I can say with confidence that this is our strongest season.
Are you feeling good about the possibility of a fifth season?
I am. I don’t know… I mean, even during Supernatural’s last season, something can always happen. There can be a strike. There can be COVID. There can be a merger. There can be something.
My career for the last 25 years has been based around not really knowing what’s going to happen. You know, “isGilmore Girls gonna go? Am I going to get an option to do it again? Oh, now it’s CW instead of Warner Brothers. Oh, now we have a new showrunner. Oh, now we have another showrunner! Now we’re changing nights. Now there’s COVID. Now there’s a strike.” [Last year’s strike] was the second strike I had been through in my career. So, all I can speak to is the quality of work we’re putting out, and there’s nothing I could change.
I will say that I have no reason to think that we we will not carry on. I intend to do the show for another 10 years, so hopefully the powers that be feel the same way. I know our cast and crew all hope for the same. We’re willing and able. Our writers are incredible, with the stories they come up with and the speed with which they can come up with great storylines and great arcs for each and every character… and our crew that makes it… if I was a network, then I would want this show to go as long as everybody who’s making the show would go.
I couldn’t be more proud of the work that we’re putting out there. I think we kind of stand alone, as far as new scripted hour-longs out there. We’re a great combination of heart and action, and trying to mimic reality as best as possible, which I think is needed and necessary. I’ve certainly heard from fans on the street and via social media and whatnot, how much they appreciate it and enjoy it. I’m very optimistic.
How are things with Cordell and Geri as we get into Season 4?
They’ve had five months together since Larry and Kelly’s wedding, snd things have been going well. Things have kind of cooled off; the Jackal’s trail went cold, and so maybe it was not a big deal. They’ve kind of been enjoying the summer with August and Stella and Bonham and Abeline, and they’ve had some time together.
There’s been work for Cordell and for Geri, obviously, but they’re on the same page. They’re living together, and they’re enjoying each other’s company, and they found a place.
Obviously, they both went through some hardships in their prior relationships. Luckily, I think with a lot of great relationships, when they become romantic, they start as friendships. Because Geri and Cordell started as a platonic relationship for many years, they’ve seen each other as friends, and they kind of know who each other’s hearts are. I think they’re enjoying that time and chance to breathe together, and just be with each other.
Is it hard for Cordell that Stella and August are both growing up, with Stella already off to school and August approaching senior year?
It’s very, very hard, and I think you’re more prescient than maybe you even realize; we kind get into that in Episode 2, and as the season goes on, of what it’s like to be to be preparing to be an empty nester, especially without your spouse. So we certainly do see that, and again, going back to what I said earlier about Walker’s storylines imitating life as best as we can, we certainly do see Walker going through that very real [situation].
At work, he is this big Texas Ranger who gets to go in and save the day and all as well, and then at home, he wants to be a Dad, but the clock is ticking. One of his kids is already gone, and the second is a senior in high school, and presumably soon to be spreading his wings. So what does that look like and feel like for this big tough dude?
Will we get to see Walker’s reaction to the situation that Stella got into at the end of last season?
Oh, yeah. And that storyline doesn’t stop, because it’s not all over. Obviously, months have passed and there have been investigations and there is conclusion of sorts, but as with most things in life, it brings about a whole new set of problems that we will deal with through the entire season.
Why should people check out the season premiere on Wednesday night?
I think a lot of us, myself included, have been dying to see what the whole Walker clan is up to. Not with the Walker clan with with the last name Walker. And we get a great catch up with a friend we haven’t talked to in a while. We have action. We have comedy, we have drama… but also, it feels like a dear friend that I haven’t caught up with in way too long, and I get all the ins and outs of what’s been going on their lives over the last period of time

Since you’re in casting, I’d love to pick your brain a little about selecting actors. I love that Jared is a constantly rising star, but in the most loving way possible, he really isn’t the best actor. 80% of the time when I’m watching him, it feels like I’m watching someone acting. He’s not the most natural Versus someone whose performance I get lost in. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to watch everything he does, and it kind of seems standard for cable network TV (for example, I feel the same ways about Nathan Fillion, David Boreanaz, Matthew Daddario - but it doesn’t make me like them any less). Honestly, the only network TV show they didn’t make me feel that was is Hannibal, and even that was only the leading actors.
I would have assumed that acting ability would be the most important part, but your page has made me realize it’s more than that, and let’s be honest, Vampire Diaries wouldn’t haven’t gotten that far if acting was the most important skill set needed. I’m guessing for the Jared’s and David’s their entire history counts most, but what about for someone just getting hired - the Jared getting the Gilmore Girl’s role or the David getting the Angel role. If they’re acting seems…stiff (wrong word?) what makes a casting director say, ‘you know what, let’s give it to them anyway.’
It’s just such a hard world to break into and I’m guessing there are auditions from people with a little more natural talent, so what makes that final decision?
(Asking as someone who is about to start the audition process)
I think what Jared (and Nathan, David, etc) has doing for him is he acts from his authentic truth. I'll expand on it later in this post. With that said, Jared is a character actor trapped in a leading man role, it's why he's not the "best actor" because people tend to believe that good character actors disappear into their roles by diminishing their screen presence, which you can't do when you're a leading man. You may be picking up on this conflicting issue. Think of Brad Pitt who works best as a supporting actor (X), and struggles a bit as a leading man so he has to throw out nuances and reply more on his raw charisma.
I haven't seen Gilmore Girls but I read Jared was the 2nd or 3rd Dean. Dean was recast because the OG Deans' chemistry with Rory wasn't up to snuff. So that answer your "final decision" question, which is chemistry. David Boreanaz had good chemistry with Sarah Michelle Geller. His chemistry Emily Deschanel in Bones was fine, bordering on good, but it was more fun/odd couple vibe whereas his interaction with Michelle had depth. Whenever Jared and Jensen tell their chemistry audition story in front of the producers, I'm pretty sure they're leaving out that Jared likely had chemistry auditions with other various Dean actors.
My advice on auditions is walk into that room like you’re going to solve their problem.
Most casting directors talk about wanting auditioning actors to "make bold choices" because they believe it will get in touch with their authentic self and therefore, make them a captivating performer. My advice is adjust the text to your authentic emotion so that you're reacting to the events of the story from your internal truth. It doesn’t matter if the story is a sci-fi, comedy, or a period piece drama: if we don’t believe the actors, we won’t care what happens to them in the story. The audience is an incredible lie-detector: the average person has, for their entire life, been storing countless passive data on how normal people react to various situations, so you can’t fool them.
My CD used to say that it's easier to tell the truth on camera than it is to lie because once you believe in yourself, then you're not acting anymore. I don't 100% agree with her but that seems to be what most CDs think.
The more confidently you use yourself as a canvas and let the context of the scene speak through your own emotional repertoire and point of view, the more compelling and interesting you are to watch. The most interesting or captivating actor is the one whose next movement, facial expression, or line reading is unpredictable. That's the difference between Jeff Bridges (unpredictable) and Beu Bridges (reliable).

A Chance Encounter
Characters: Jared x Reader
Warnings: fluff, SMUT!, language, unprotected sex (cover it up guys)
A/N: Just a short story for a sweet friend, @deana1245. No disrespect to Jared or his family. This is fiction and does not depict real life.
All work is my own, please don’t take it or copy it. I wrote this fast, and edited it just as fast. Please overlook any errors, your girl is tired after the first week of school
Minors DNI 18+
Jared was not one for grocery shopping. The fluorescent lights, the constant hum of the fridge motors, and the overwhelming number of choices all conspired to make him feel claustrophobic. But today, he found himself wandering the aisles, picking up items he'd never bought before. His divorce had left him feeling adrift, and he'd decided to try and establish some semblance of normalcy in his life.
As he turned down an aisle he noticed you struggling to get an item off the top shelf. “Shit! Why am I so short?! Why do the shelves have to be so friggin tall?!” You mumbled. Jared walked over to you, “Need some help?”
You turned and didn’t expect to see Jared Padalecki standing beside you. Your mouth dropped and words wouldn’t come. “Oh, um, sure. Thank you.” You finally were able to get out.
As you took a step back you tripped and fell into Jared. "Sorry about that," you said, your voice soft and melodic. "No worries," Jared replied, returning your smile. "I should probably watch where I'm going."
The two of you chatted for a few minutes, and Jared was immediately drawn to you. You were intelligent, funny, and seemed completely unaffected by his awkwardness or his celebrity status. When the two of you reached the checkout line, he asked for your number. You hesitated for a moment, but then handed him your phone. He put his number in and sent himself a text.
“Nice to meet you, Y/N” Jared smiled at you as the two of you walked outside. “Nice to meet you too, Jared. I hope to hear from you soon.” You smiled and walked away.
About 5 minutes later your phone buzzed with a text.
Jared: Hey Y/N, are you up for lunch or dinner sometime?
You: Sure, when do you have in mind? I’m free whenever.
Jared: Great! How about tomorrow night? I’ll pick you up about 6.
You: Sounds good. I can’t wait.
Jared: Me either. 😀
The next night arrived faster than either of you expected. Jared was nervous so he called Jensen for advice. “Man what if I screw this up? I haven’t been on a date in decades.” “Jar, you’re going to be fine. Just be yourself and if all else fails, just give her the puppy eyes.” Jensen laughed. “Yeah, right. Thanks man.” “You’re welcome buddy, now go have fun. Let me know how it goes.” Jensen and Jared said their goodbyes and Jared hopped in his truck.
Jared: On my way. I can’t wait to see you.
You saw the text come through as you were finishing your hair. Your heart was pounding, you were so nervous. You’d been a fan of Jared’s for decades and you were still in shock he asked you out. When you heard he was getting a divorce you were sad for him. Now, you were elated and felt a little guilty you were happy at the demise of his marriage. You sent him a text back.
You: I can’t wait either, I’ll be waiting.
You finished your hair and pulled on your shoes. Just as you grabbed your purse you saw his truck pull up. You took a steading breath before you opened the door. He stepped out of his truck with jeans and a t-shirt on. Your breath hitched. He looked so amazing. “Hey, Y/N, ready to go?” You shook your head yes. Jared offered you his arm and walked you to his truck. “You look beautiful tonight.” He smiled at you. His hazel eyes looking almost as light as honey as the fading sunlight cast an orange glow over his face. You bit your lip, “Thank you. You look incredible.”
Over the next few weeks, Jared and you became inseparable. The two of you would spend hours talking on the phone, laughing until your sides ached. You were everything Jared had been looking for in a partner. You were kind, supportive, and made him feel like he could be himself without judgment or worry you were looking to advance your career. Jared was everything you’d been looking for too, he was humble, kind, genuine, and made you feel like you were the only woman on Earth.
One evening, about 2 months after you two started dating, the two of you sat on a blanket in a field outside Jared’s house watching the stars come out. Jared took your hand in his and held you tight. You looked over at him and smiled. The two of you leaned in and your lips met in a feverish kiss.
You both decided to take your relationship slow. The most you two had done to this point was some heavy petting. You felt like it was time to take your relationship to the next level, but you didn’t want to push Jared. He felt it was time too, and of course he didn’t want to push you.
As the kiss turned more heated, Jared’s strong hands found their way up your shirt. You moaned into his mouth. He pulled back, “Is this okay?” “Yes, Jared. I’m ready if you are.” “Really?” You nodded your head yes.
Jared leaned up and pulled his shirt off his body with one hand. Revealing his perfectly tanned, toned chest. Your heart sped up, and your walls clenched around nothing. Biting your lip you took in his body.
You pulled your shirt off, revealing the green laced bra you were currently thanking god you decided to wear tonight. Jared’s breath hitched, “So beautiful.” He whispered as his lips trailed down your jaw, to your neck and down to your bra. His fingers quickly unhooked your bra, letting your breasts bounce freely.
You shivered as your breasts were exposed to the chilly Austin night air. Jared’s lips began kissing every inch of your breasts and taking your nipples in his mouth and between his fingers.
“So beautiful.” He whispered against your skin. A shiver went through your body as you felt the wetness pool between your thighs.
Jared kissed down your body, kissing every inch and committing your curves to memory. His long, strong fingers danced over your body delicately causing you to moan and arch your body into his touch.
As he worked his way down to your pants he stopped and looked up at you. You nodded yes and lifted your hips as he unbuttoned your jeans and pulled them down, taking your panties with them, exposing the rest of your body to him.
He leaned back “You’re so beautiful, Y/N. I can’t believe you’re mine.” Heat filled your cheeks as you blushed at Jared’s comment.
“I think one of us is overdressed” you playfully teased. Jared chuckled and began to remove his pants and boxers.
You could feel your arousal running out of your throbbing core. When Jared removed his clothes your breath caught in your throat at the sight of his hardened member. You bit your lip and quivered.
“Are you sure you’re ready, baby? If you’re not, it’s fine. We can stop.” You leaned up on your elbows, “Jared, I’m more than ready. I want to give you all of me and I want you. Please.”
Jared attacked your lips in a passionate kiss. Both of you moaning into each other’s mouth.
Jared pumped his length a few times and lined himself up with your dripping entrance. “Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle.” He looked in your eyes.
Jared was incredibly tall, and with that came a rather large penis. You’d never been with anyone as large as him and you were nervous but excited too.
As he pushed in you both let out a moan. You felt a wave of pleasure mixed with pain as he bottomed out. Your hands grabbed onto his broad shoulders as he lifted your legs and adjusted his angle.
Jared set a steady pace. The sounds of crickets, your moans of pleasure and skin hitting skin filled the air. “Fuck baby your pussy feels so good. So tight around my cock.” With each thrust you felt Jared’s cockhead hit your cervix. Each thrust was a euphoric experience you hoped would last forever.
Your core started to tighten as you felt your release building. Jared felt it too, as your walls clenched tightly around his engorged cock. “Jar..I’m..gonna..cum.” You panted out. Jared captured your lips as he thrust deep inside you, hitting that delicious spot, “Cum for me baby. Cum on my cock.” That’s all it took before you came undone. Your body convulsing and reacting to his touch.
“Oh Jared! Fuck!” Jared kept pushing in you and held your legs. Your body was convulsing and trying to squeeze him out. You hadn’t cum like that in a really long time. You thought to yourself, he did all that with just his cock, you can’t imagine what he could do with his mouth.
As you came down from your high, you took control and told Jared to get on his back. Without pulling out, Jared pulled you on top of him. You sank down on his cock, throwing your head back and pulling a moan from your lips.
Jared grabbed your hips to help steady you as you began to grind down on him. “Damn baby you feel incredible. Yes, just like that. Fuck!” Jared started panting as you bounced faster. He leaned up and took one breast in his mouth and the other in his hand. You leaned down and kissed him.
“Jared, you feel so good baby.” You moaned. Jared sat up holding onto your back. You placed your hands on his shoulders as you continued to ride him. “Baby, I want you on your back, please.” Jared pleaded.
You nodded and he laid you back. He pushed back in all the way and continued to thrust slowly. Your legs were relaxed down as he was taking you slowly. Jared wanted to savor every second he had with you.
The two of you locked eyes and in that moment you felt more love than you’d ever felt. Jared softly kissed your lips and when he pulled away a tear slipped out of your eye. He stopped and looked at you with concern, “Are you okay, baby?” “Yes, I…” You bit your lip, “I love you, Jared.”
Your mind was racing. You couldn’t believe you told him you loved him, but this moment felt perfect. It felt like the right time to confess your love for him. Jared looked you in your eyes and kissed your lips softly, “I love you too, Y/N. So much.” he wiped the tear away and continued making love to you.
Everything felt perfect. You knew Jared was close so you bucked your hips into him, encouraging him to move faster. He smirked and picked up the pace. He lifted your legs up onto his shoulders. Deepening the angle he was at.
As his pace picked up you grabbed his arms. “Oh Jared! Yes!” You screamed. “Oh shit! I’m gonna cum!” “Yes, Jar. Cum for me, fill me up!” With one last powerful thrust, Jared came, coating your walls with his hot seed. As he came his head dipped into the crook of your neck.
Breathless, both of you tried to steady your breathing as he let himself soften inside you. As he pulled out, some of his cum trickled out. He grabbed his shirt and cleaned you up and then himself.
You giggled. “What’s so funny?” He asked you. “I can’t believe you used your shirt to clean us up.” “Well, good thing I’m already at home, huh.” He laughed. You smiled and nodded.
He pulled you in his arms and wrapped part of the blanket around the two of you. He kissed your forehead, “I love you, Y/N.” “I love you too, Jared.” Both of you let out a contented sigh.
You knew this was only the beginning of an incredible life with him. You loved him and he loved you, and together you could tackle the world.

I bring you a 2.0 version of my fancast for the characters of a Supernatural gay porn parody for you to rate, and feel free to suggest changes or additions. I saw someone in your replies say Paul Pratt would be a good Sam, and while I can see that I’ll stick with my casting for now, but Paul can definitely audition for the role. Here’s the updated version: Dean Winchester - Griffin Barrows. Sam Winchester - Tayte Hanson or Paul Pratt. Castiel - Gino Mosca. John Winchester - Lawson James. Adam Milligan - Connor Maguire. Benny Lafitte - Brodie (from Sean Cody). Garth Fitzgerald IV - Tommy Dreams. Aaron Bass - Deviant Otter. Michael - Darius Ferdynand or Dom King. Lucifer - Marcus Mojo. The Chief - Ian Cage. Dominant truck driver that fucks Dean in a flashback (and then again when they meet randomly in the present at a gas station bathroom) - Brad Kalvo.
Dean Winchester - Griffin Barrows
He's very hot and I've seen him eating dicks, I know he would nail Dean perfectly.
Sam Winchester - Tayte Hanson or Paul Pratt
Going to be honnest, I'm as apathetic towards them as towards Sam/Jared, so good job I guess 😛
Castiel - Gino Mosca
I hate Cas, but who cares, Gino's hot af!
John Winchester - Lawson James
Of course.
Adam Milligan - Connor Maguire
Not sure he's an Adam, but Connor's really hot, approved!
Benny Lafitte - Brodie (from Sean Cody)
Mhhhh, he's very hot too, but he looks too young to be a Benny.
Garth Fitzgerald IV - Tommy Dreams
I don't know... why not.
Aaron Bass - Deviant Otter
I don't think a spn gay porn parody needs an Aaron tbh.
Michael - Darius Ferdynand or Dom King
They look good, but what the point of Michael if he's not using one of the Winchesters as his vessel.
Lucifer - Marcus Mojo.
I love Marcus, so yeah OK!
The Chief - Ian Cage
Not bad, but... who the fuck is the Chief lol
Dominant truck driver that fucks Dean in a flashback (and then again when they meet randomly in the present at a gas station bathroom) - Brad Kalvo
Oh nice!!! That's the kind of guy I picture fucking Dean in a nasty gas station bathroom.
Crowley - Paul Wagner
I love Paul, but I don't think he's a Crowley at all.
Alastair (the demon that tortured and later mentored Dean in hell, so there would be potential for some BDSM and other kinks in the porn parody) - Paddy O’Brian.
The torture scene was hot as hell and Paddy is very hot too. Love it!
Well, some really good choices, some meh. I can't say diversity wins, but that fits Supernatural I guess lol

24, alana & jared?
24. “Should I call my lawyer?”
Alana tracks him down during lunch in a dusty corner of the library. It was, Jared will admit, a tactical error to hide out here knowing it’s her go-to study spot as well as Connor Project HQ, but his English paper won’t finish itself in the next ninety minutes, and the drama classroom at lunchtime isn’t conducive to doing one’s homework even when one isn’t on the outs with half the drama club, and they took his key to the control booth when he quit tech for the fall play. Really, he had no choice.
“Jared,” Alana says. She looks tired. Sounds like it, too. “You’ve read the emails between Evan and Connor, right?”
Has he ever. “Skimmed ‘em,” Jared says. “Three out of five stars. Great pathos, but too repetitive. ‘Dear Evan Hansen, my parents just don’t understand me.’ ‘Dear Connor Murphy, look at this tree and you’ll feel better.’ Why, is there gonna be a pop quiz?”
Alana frowns. He wonders if she’s offended by his irreverence about the emails and expects him to quote them like Torah verses. Then she pulls out a chair and sits down, slowly, and he thinks there’s a fire drill happening before realizing it’s the alarm bells going off in his head.
“Was there anything in them that didn’t make sense to you?”
Fuck. “Like what?” Jared says, then kicks himself for not just saying no, not really and ending the conversation.
“Like…” Alana digs out her phone. “The emails from June say that’s when Evan broke his arm. He and Connor talk about it a lot. But Evan still had a cast in September.”
“So?”
“Broken arms only take two months to heal on average.”
Damn Evan and his inability to stick to a story. Jared had insisted they nail down a timeline somewhere around the tenth email to avoid exactly this, but he’s had a million chances to go off-script, at the Murphys’ house or Connor Project meetings or fucking Instagram. “So he’s not average. Maybe it was a really gnarly break that took three months to heal because he fell from thirty feet up. Or maybe he has brittle bone disease.”
“Jared, this is serious.”
“Osteogenesis imperfecta is very serious. Jodi Picoult —”
“Evan didn’t have a cast in June,” Alana bursts out. “I remember. We were still in school.”
Shit, fuck, and goddamn it. “Did you even know he was alive then?”
“Of course I did. I saw him all the time. And you were with him a lot.” Oh, this is bad. This is DEFCON 5 bad. Or DEFCON 1, whichever is the worst one. “Don’t you remember?”
“Is this an interrogation? Should I call my lawyer?” He’s depleted his arsenal of deflections and distractions. Only one weapon remains: bald-faced lies. “I don’t remember when he got a cast. I didn’t write those emails. I don’t know why you’re asking me about any of this when he’s still walking around.”
“I just…” Alana, amazingly, deflates, rather than pushing back even harder. “I was thinking about all the people watching us. Putting their faith in us. Trusting us with their money. I wanted to know if anyone else was seeing what I was seeing. And I really don’t want to be wrong.”
He won’t feel bad about this. He will not. “Well —”
“But you’re right.” Alana gets up. “I should have asked Evan. I will, the next chance I get.”
“Did I say that?” Jared asks — rhetorically, it turns out; she’s already walking away, braids swishing.
He hasn’t seen Evan since homecoming, hasn’t said a word to him, hasn’t wanted to, and Evan hasn’t tried to break that silence. Should he break it to warn Evan that Alana’s finding the holes in their story — Evan’s story — and headed his way to pry it open?
Really, does Evan deserve it?
