At the end of it, Michael was lip-servicing destiny, desperate to get Sam away from that hole. As scripted, when it came down to it, Michael was reaching out to his brother.

He was trying to GRAB him.

Something so funny to me about supernatural is how literal so many of their problems are.

Like in your average show, you’ll have a character that struggles with feeling like God hates them or that their entire life was written to be doomed or that the devil is tempting them.

And in supernatural you have Team Free Will being like, yeah God literally hates us. He came over and told us to our face. He specifically wrote our story to be doomed in every universe. Lucifer uses us as meat suits sometimes.
