John gets wreckless with urgency because he hears Meg kills Pastor Jim. He openly cries about it. i do really like when spn shows fucked up hunters in the early seasons, especially gordon walker types who shoot first ask and questions later. it's really interesting that the average hunter, especially when you talk about american hunters, has this idea of all monsters being irredeemably evil no matter what theyve done. because of course they think that. they get into hunting by losing someone they loved and live their whole lives in the community, never talking to outsiders, watching everyone they know get picked off on hunts one by one, looking over their backs every few minutes knowing that it'll be them on that funeral pyre one day too, probably sooner rather than later
