is anyone else who has gravity falls on dvd just absolutely obsessed with the commentaries? they have them for every episode, it's the whole episode in the background with alex hirsch and at least one other person who worked on the show (sometimes voice actors, sometimes writers, sometimes artists, his twin sister one time, etc.) doing commentary over it and i dunno they're just so comforting to me, like i just watch them over and over again and will never get tired of doing so. and they're sooooo funny and you learn so much cool stuff about the show and they're great! and all of the people are just so great, like i'm way too attached to all of them lol
some personal highlights: (some might be paraphrases, i dunno)
- "i'm alex hirsch and i'm not rob renzetti" "i'm rob renzetti and i'm not matt chapman" "i'm matt chapman and i'm BOTH alex hirsch and rob renzetti" "whoa really?" (introductions at the beginning of commentary for Into the Bunker)
- "i'm matt chapman and i'm an ungodly monstrosity" "not JUST an ungodly monstrosity, the ungodly monstrosity who wrote this episode!"
- every single time alex says something as a character he plays (stan, soos, mcgucket, bill, quentin trembley, etc.) ("uh oh! gravity is a real problem in this town! i'm quentin trembley" - commentary for Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future; "this is what dates are like for Stan!" - commentary for Roadside Attraction; "yeah yknow, say whatever you want, then you won't see them again, other people don't have feelings" - commentary for Roadside Attraction) (ahhh they're so much less funny written out than they are when he actually says them i promise)
- jeff rowe wanting to be called stabby the boss cat (commentary for Blendin's Game)
- every time they mention how alex chews on pens
- "what if the love potion comes from cupid, and what if cupid is... mike rianda" (commentary for The Love God) (hmm I don't know if this is funny out of context for who mike is, well that's not my problem!)
- the whole thing about jason ritter getting a bit electrocuted by a ms. pacman video game when he was a kid (commentary for Fight Fighters)
i will probably add more as i rewatch more of them. but yeah the commentaries are the best!!!!!!

Still on the topic of Ford taking nutrient pills. I did watch the stream where Alex and Dana talk about it (thank you @jacky-rubou).
Like...it's not impossible, but a small single pill wouldn't be enough because of the amount of calories a grown human needs on the daily (like 500, I think). You're gonna need to take maybe as many as 20 pills (or perhaps as staggering as 125 pills at least) in order to have that calorie intake.
Nutrient/vitamin pills are essential to maintaining health, but not to fully replace food as a whole.
From the stream, Alex said that Ford prepares the pills...I question how and how it is any different from preparing actual meals if its to save time lol.
I will give some artistic license in that maybe Ford managed to find/create a type of pill that can cut down the numbers needed quite considerably and that his body has adapted to it to a degree.
...Still not ideal, (I can only imagine how small Ford's stomach is...or he doesn't have one anymore) so I like to headcanon that Ford is a bit undernourished and a bit underweight. (thank you for the angst fodder, Alex)
Something that Stan (with Maria Ramirez's help) plans to rectify. At least get him to eat a bit of bland food to go with the pills. (baby steps)
From some personal experience, I have a strange diet and because of it, I'm gonna have to take vitamin pills (...which I should be doing...). It's often recommended to take it with actual food. There are times where I forget to do that and just take the pill, only to experience some incredible nausea afterwards.
So...yeah. Fordsie, you gotta eat actual food, love.

AND SCENE!
Breaking news—the love interest role in Claire White's latest blockbuster finally has a star, and it's none other than Stella Castillo, pictured above, the youngest daughter of Hollywood moguls. Brace yourselves for a wild ride as Stella Castillo, usually seen in her parents' flicks, takes on a meatier role in one of next year's most hyped movies.
But hold the popcorn—whispers on the red carpet suggest Stella Castillo's previous filmography is more "meh" than marvellous.
Is this casting coup the pinnacle of Hollywood nepotism, or will Stella Castillo flip the script and prove she's a force to be reckoned with? Love her or hate her, one thing's for sure: this star-studded spectacle is about to kick off, and only time will spill the juiciest deets straight from the set.
So, grab your shades, folks, because this Hollywood rollercoaster is just getting warmed up and PinkCelebTea will report every step of the way—you know how it is!

NEXT UP: Our insiders spill the tea—Louis Alvarez ain't exactly doing cartwheels about acting alongside what they're dubbing an 'untalented and undeserving' co-star. Trouble behind the scenes already?
⠀actress ( nepo baby! ) -- "show the world what they're missing"
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ the youngest daughter of the castillo family, she made the decision to enter the acting industry in 2019. initially, she starred in her parents' films and, eventually, the tv show 'yellowjackets.' however, her performances faced more criticism than praise, prompting her to take a break from acting. she returned to the scene in mid-2022 with a role in 'the summer i turned pretty,' alongside actors lola tung and christopher briney. gradually, her acting skills began to receive more positive reviews, although some people remained hesitant due to her family connections and the previous projects she acted in. determined to prove herself beyond being "the castillo's daughter," she took on a role in claire white's latest film.

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⁰¹ despite being allergic to fur, stella takes pills to manage her allergies, fulfilling a promise she made to her mom to get a siamese cat for her 16th birthday.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⁰² in 'yellowjackets,' she portrayed gwen ramirez, one of the newest members of the girls' varsity soccer team. gwen's character was particularly close to jackie taylor, the captain of the yellowjackets.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⁰³ for her 18th birthday, stella got a small sun tattoo on her left shoulder, a shared experience with one of her closest childhood friends who opted for a moon tattoo on their right shoulder.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⁰⁴ her character in 'the summer i turned pretty' was harvey serrano, a childhood friend of the fisher and conklin families. harvey and conrad fisher, her character's childhood sweetheart, had been dating since they were 12 but eventually broke up two years prior to the events of the story.

1717. The Golden Age of Piracy. Wealthy UnderRealm Grifter William (Montague) Widemouth set out to find adventure and renown on the high seas. Things did not go as planned... Our Flag Means Pasta: An OFMD x Pastamonsters/Creepypasta Crossover AU
v Characters and Lore Below v
Or, check out everything I have stored on this AU in the Miro Board I've created for it! I update it with time as I create more artwork, characters, and add to the storyline, and even make episode timelines!
Characters in this AU:
The 'Retribution' Crew
Mr. Widemouth (William Montague Widemouth) as Stede Bonnet / Ben Drowned (Benjamin Lawman) as Lucius Spriggs / Jeff the Killer (Jeffrey Sepulveda-Ramirez) as Black Pete / Homicidal Liu (Liu Sepulveda-Ramirez) as Jim Jimenez / Eyeless Jack as Oluwande Boodhari / Ticci Toby (Tobias 'Toby' Eren Rogers) as Frenchie / Seedeater (Eedie) as Wee John / Kagekao as the Swede / Dr. Smiley as Roach / The Rake as Buttons
The 'Queen Lucia' Crew
Grinny (Oscar Delgado-Reyes)* as Edward Teach / Shadowlurker as Izzy Hands / Masky** as Fang / Hoodie* as Ivan
*Grinny is an OC of @oakmovies , however, for this AU, he is essentially a nearly different character, as his lore and background are vastly different.
**Masky and Hoodie in this AU are NOT the same people as their versions in Marble Hornets, and are instead entirely different people with different backstories.
Other Characters
Smile Dog (Smilin' Sam Dogham) as Calico Jack / Nurse Ann as Spanish Jackie / Splendorman as Nigel Badminton / Slenderman as Chauncey Badminton / Ms. (Priscilla) Pencilneck (another OC of @oakmovies) as Mary Allamby / Nina the Killer (Nina Rodriguez-Hopkins) as Archie / Jane the Killer as Mary Read (Jane Tod Richardson) / Clockwork (Natalie Ouellette) as Anne Bonney / Pinkamena (Bi Qi/碧琪) as Zheng Yi Sao
Character Backgrounds:
In this AU, and in this given time frame, the UnderRealm aristocracy is made up entirely of either monsters or spirits who were born and raised in the UnderRealm. Anyone who comes to the UnderRealm from the Surface world (killers, cursed, undead, etc.) is considered other, an outsider, and of lesser status, and this gap created upholds the aristocratic monster class. People who are born half-human are also considered lesser, and unless they were born to a monster of already aristocratic standing, they have very limited options in life in the UR.
UnderRealm: Widemouth, Ben (see also Spirit), Seedeater, The Rake, Shadowlurker, Slenderman, Splendorman
Spirits: Ben (Human from UK, died, then UR as corporeal spirit), Kagekao (Demon; Japan)
Half-Human:
Grinny (Mother - Mixed Taino/Spanish / Father - (Lower-class) Monster)
Smile (Father - UK / Mother - Cave Hound)
Ms. P (Father - UK / Mother - (Upper-class) Monster)
'Killer' Humans: Jeff, Liu, Toby, Dr. Smiley, Masky, Hoodie, Nina, Jane, Clockwork
Cursed/Possessed/Undead/Cannibal 'Humans': EJ (possessed/cursed/cannibal), Nurse Ann (Undead), Pinkamena (Cursed/Cannibal)
Lore (What's Different from PM/OFMD?)
Grinny/Oscar - The child of a feline-monster from the UnderRealm, and a half Taino woman from Puerto Rico. His mother was dragged to the UnderRealm by his father when she was a young lady, and lived in an abusive situation with him, until Oscar kills his father when he's 12. He runs away from home after this, and joins the crew of Captain Doyle (Hornigold for this AU - I have yet to draw another version of him for this AU, so here's @oakmovies rendition of him on IG). There, he meets Sam and Shadowlurker, and after they mutiny Doyle, he goes on to make a reputation for himself as the feared monster pirate Captain Grinny.
Jeff and Liu - Since Black Pete and Jim Jimenez in OFMD are not at all blood siblings the way Jeff and Liu are, but I was already set on them being these characters, I've created this backstory for them:
Jeff and Liu grow up with their family on a blood orange farm in St. Augustine, when one Christmas night, a gang known as the Siete Búhos attacks and kills their entire family. Instead of killing the siblings as well, they mutilate them, and set Jeff, and the rest of the farm, on fire. The two siblings manage to run away from the burning farm, and are taken in by a Satanic Nun.
The Nun raises them to master the art of killing, but only for the purpose of revenge. Jeff, however, has a different idea, and uses his new skills to rob and kill people for money. The nun acts to kick Jeff out of the convent, but Liu refuses to be separated from their brother, and leaves with him. Eventually, they meet Eyeless Jack, who gets them a job with Spanish Ann.
However, they find out that one of her husbands is the leader of the Siete Búhos, so one night, they get him drunk enough to restrain, torture, and kill him. After Ann finds out about this, she puts a price on Liu's head, and Jack has to escape with the two siblings, where they then join Widemouth's crew among The Retribution.

The text of the letter and names of the celebrities that signed it under the cut.
"October 23, 2023
Dear President Biden,
We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity.
But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death. They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded.
Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza.
We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages.
We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home.
Sincerely,
