I really love the story about Ayrton sleeping on the couch at Alain's house. It's so ridiculous, and I can only imagine Ayrton doing this:

way to make Marc feel like a cradle robber Fermin (he invited his teachers to the race and after Marc asked them if Fermin was a good student Fermin’s tail was wagging sooo hard)

Vale's motorhome being the designated VR46 Academy hangout (from an article on his retirement):
"For sure it will be strange to travel without my brother and not share the track or paddock with him," said younger brother Luca Marini. "Not meeting in his motorhome at night to look at practice or just watch another sport like a F1 race or Serie A [football] match will be strange. We will lose a key point of the paddock, a reference, because when we VR46 Academy riders want to find a place to see each other, every time we go in the motorhome of Vale. Also without asking him because now we know the entry code! So we live there during every free minute we have in the paddock.”

I'm always surprised that people don't see Damon Hill as the natural offspring of the Prosenna marriage. He was both their teammates, younger, eager, got really attached to Ayrton despite knowing him for not a long time. Baby was without his father too.
Like come on

His account is actually quite old and has been around since then. I have been digging them around for fun for a while. Nothing to do with him. Just want to see the general public's opinions back in the day (I wasn't there) and a journalist's Twitter mentions is the easiest source you could possibly get. This first one was from after Sepang.
So some VR supporters are telling me MM's crash was a dive. In other words that he threw himself onto the road on purpose. Weirdos
This is from Valencia
Just spoke to Josh Brookes, who believes MM stayed behind JL on purpose. So there you go. But he did say he's a big VR fan
Then a spoke to a former 500 world champ who said the same, that MM was JL's guardian angel
Then I spoke to Cal: "I know the Honda's weak points & strong points - MM had no acceleration grip out of turns to set up a pass."
Then I spoke to another Honda operative who said that MM's complete win bonus would've been in the region of £200,000
About 2 weeks later
The phone threats to MM are sickening. There are some real nutters out there. I think VR should say something to try & call the dogs
And ofc there is this legend of a tweet
All the VR is gay internet nonsense balances all the JL/MM are gay internet nonsense. Most important: it isn't an insult to call anyone gay!
And this.
The great think about Twitter is one moment people are accusing me of doing PR for VR, the next for MM.
There's a lot more but I realize this makes me seem a little creepy so I'm going to stop here lol
(About Mat Oxley and his pov on Marc on 2015)
Interesting, seems like he always tended to lean more towards Marc, but he is for sure a far more vocal supporter today. He was saying very very real things tho even when he was neutral so snaps to him
I remember him saying that in writing his book he has grown to appreciate Marc more so maybe that is why he is suuuuch a big Marc fan today
Thanks for hunting all of this down!!! Super super interesting and you def are not a creep lol it’s publicly available info from a figure in motorsports you are citing.

Saw that insta story from Damon where he says ‘ah, the good old days’ over that video of Senna arguing with Balestre, and it totally reminded me of when Nigel said something like: a regular briefing day was him walking in, Gerhard messing with someone, the drivers chatting, and Ayrton already fighting with someone from the FIA. Guess that was just a normal day for drivers in the 80s and 90s ☕

I think that podium with Alain, Lauda, and Senna at Zandvoort in ’85 is so cute. Senna was kind of left out of the celebrations because Prost and Lauda were on the same team and were all celebrating together, but when it came to the champagne, Lauda turned to joke around with Ayrton, and Ayrton quickly broke into a big smile.
