Also, I may be posting two versions of Chapter 12 later this week, once I figure out the logistics of how best to do it. If you've been following for a while, you may remember the encounter with the MC's ancestor at Pleasant House. I rewrote that scene from the ground up about a year ago now, BUT it did significantly alter the course of Chapters 13 and 14 as a result.

I may treat it like I did with the reworked prologue and post both the original version and the rewrite, along with a poll. I'm genuinely torn, as I feel the rewrite makes for more of a climatic build-up (which I got in my head about for a while, hence how it came to be), but now that I'm revisiting this stretch, I quite like the original and it's slower, more mysterious tone.

Just a heads up to stay tuned, though no promises.

See, i dont think there's one specific version of "Were" Pokemon, and i truly believe it's based on the Regional Dog or the most common ones that can get out of hand.

Arcanine seems to be the most common in Kanto

Mightyena for Hoenn

Unova would get Stoutland

Kalos would get Furfrou

Alola would have *Midnight Lycanroc

Galar would have Boltund

But Justice! I hear you say. Why does each region have a different pokemon when some of them overlap? Why is it all dog pokemon? And Why these guys? Why aren't they more intimidating pokemon?

Were-*Wolf* you said, not a Lycanwere or any other. Wolf. And yes, not all of these pokemon are wolf, but there isnt many /wolf/ pokemon and dogs are the next best things! This, this and i do see dog pokemon biting more humans than any other species

Not all of these dogs are intimidating. Well, to us yeah. But in universe they're bound to be more feral and a lot more dangerous than the average werewolf. Not to mention, they dont outright TURN into wolves, its an almalgamation of wolf/Human that is distorted into a monster. Hence why, the intimidation of the dog itself doesn't matter. But how the warped Were looks while still identifying as the main species.

And yes! Some of the dogs overlap other regions, and to that i say that the interlacing species is fine! Those weres DO appear there, but the most common ones are the ones naturally residing there or have a higher population count.

The legendaries of were's gets a bit perverted throughout the regions. Some of them reign them as demons, and others reign them as some sort of good omen. It's very uncommon that you'll get the same meaning of the werewolves and how to cure them.

The only common thing is that they get bit in the full moon.

*Midnight Lycanroc is specific because Werewolves are known to shift during a full moon only, whoch takes out Midday and Dusk form Lycanroc. Thus also perpetuating Midnight Lycanrocs already terrible reputation.
