Ember had had the night of her life, and between the drinks, the weed, and the fun her mood had been incredibly high. Just knowing Lane was back alone had added to her exuberance, not to mention her date. None of that mattered, though, the moment she spotted Ivy there. Not only there at a party for her Dad, but wearing her mother's dress. Heels hitting the marble floor hard as she rushed up on the smaller blond, there was fire behind her eyes and a dangerous tightness to her jaw as she hissed her words at her.

"What the fuck are you going in my mother's dress?"

"Perspective." Sada turned the word over on her tongue, tasting it and mulling over how it fit the situation. Suppose that word sufficed. It didn't carry the weight of context, but it was suitable for someone maybe trying to hide from what news could have come with them? Ivy was always a hard one to read, a fact about her Sada had appreciated in their previous passing contact. That she appreciated even more now that the blond was cozying up to Tobias, frustrating as it was. Still, just because she couldn't see the shoot, doesn't mean the seeds hadn't been planted.

"I wonder if they'll be moving into the Penthouse as well."

it was wasteful. going through supplies of food and liquor that would not go bad. bowls of half eaten food and floors covered in drinks that could have been parsed out in conservation. when they all died in a year, they would remember this night. or not. it wouldn't be for her to decide, she hoped it wouldn't be remembered. as with most things sada said, she nodded along and kept her own opinion to herself. it wasn't passivity, it was objectivity.

"good." she'd always kept a quiet distance from lane. their working relationship overlapped only in a few moments, a transfer of care or something of the like. now, the information is appreciated, but there's little she can do with it and even less she can offer in return. it's simply enough time to process, it's enough to see past the night to the problems of the morning. "we needed someone with perspective."

Freezing altogether as her hand found it's way on top of his own, butterflies bursting to furious life in his stomach in a way he was so unfamiliar with, and for a moment time just sort of paused for a beat. Like it was buffering. Then all at once it came back to him as his eyes lifted once more to her own, and he finally opened his hand to let her take the key from her palm.

"I don't want anything from you, you know." Voice soft, like he thought the walls would hear, his hand fell away once the key was taken from it. Motioning her to unlock the door that opened up to the ballroom, he waited for her to step through before giving a gentle call of her name but not following her through it.

"It's just nice to make someone smile again... and you happen to be a bit of a challenge." Offering her a grin, crooked and playful, he reached for the knob and pulled the door closed behind him, letting her acclimate to her new surroundings in her own time.

what was the answer she was looking for? what would have made everything connect so that she stopped asking different variations of the same question. was it simply to rephrase what he'd already said, that he knew her better than she thought. or that he wanted to know her.

she was a deeply private person. she'd counted almost no one among her friends in the before, and in the after she'd done an even worse job of trying to hold onto anyone more meaningful. the lockmoores had cemented there was no way to get to north carolina that didn't involve fighting for her life, leaving only beau. leaving just this building.

"no." she reached for his hand with the awkwardness of someone who couldn't make claims on intimacy of any kind. it was the most vulnerable of gestures, and she almost immediately regretted her clumsiness of it. whatever he'd assumed he knew, how collected she was in every situation— except for this one. "i want this."

Hello, this is my first post!

Here are some things you should know:

1) This is a random melting pot of whatever I come up with. Expect random stuff I won't know how to organize.

2) Please expect me not to upload stuff much. I tend to forget that social media outside of Discord exists, and if I do remember, then I just lurk and don't post.

3) I have a big project, and I'm still storyboarding (because I don't have the things to bring it to reality YET), so please expect to see a ton of oc's. And I mean a TON.

Help, there are over 20 characters for this one project, and that's not even counting the protagonist or any side characters.

And last but not least (so far), #4:

I have no clue what I'm doing.

Please be a bit lenient with me, I'm just trying to figure this all out.

I'll add more when I think of more stuff, but yeah, this is it for now!

Because I wanted to, and I don't want to draw full comics underneath a post for a reply (I was also inspired by someone else's blog that I saw a while ago, but I can't remember the name of said blog), I'll give some of my OC's their own voice (i.e., different text colors and fonts = different characters).

Red is Ember

Dark blue is Sparky

Green is Ivy (🌿) and Vine(☘️)

And purple fancy cursive is Winter

I didn’t think I’d fall in love again, at least not for a while. I expected to be (Happy Valentines Day, 2:50). We started off at a crawl, we piqued each others interest but we needed to gauge a bit more. We shared stories of our past and present, we walked a lot, like a lot. We talked about our mutual love and respect for music. We love the same genres but in different ways, she likes the brighter more vibrant sounds while I gravitate towards the darker, earthier tones. We grew closer because of this. So close my own insecurities started to well up, I felt attached to her. I became protective and jealous. I started to really care about her in a rare way. We continued to take things close up until recently. We shared a movie, a kiss, and more. We shared our thoughts. We let everything spill out. She told me she loved me and (Ivy 0:02). I told her I loved her. I told her how I hid my feelings and a bit of myself, she told me she did the same. We went back and forth all night about how we’d felt and what was to come. We were sure, we were sure we were there, and would stay there for as long as we cared for one another. Now (IFHY 0:16), maybe those number are a bit inflated for me but they’re close. I told my mom about her. I told her about what we have in common, how we differ, and how we plan to keep going. I told my mom about how she’s helped me grow. If we don’t make it, it will hurt, but it won’t devastate like others have. I appreciate her for showing me how to properly communicate and care for a person. I appreciate her for showing me what I love in a human, what I love in her. Going into this new section of adult hood or grown-hood as I call it, my emotions have taken a seat. I handle shit. I get things taken care of. I know now (Solid Plan 1:11). She’s a part of that now, she doesn’t become an active player until later but she has a part in it. Until that time comes though, I’ll let my emotions stand up when it comes to her.
