this is to the people who find Jason's POVS boring, what exactly in his POVS do you find uninteresting? Is it his dialogues? This is a genuine question asked out of pure curiosity. I love character analysis sm, so im eager to read the responses this post gets.
Before I picked up Hoo, I was a little brainwashed by the whole Jason-is-boring thing by the fandom. BUT. Instead of getting turned off, I was only intrigued by how much hate the guy got, I even thought that he was the bad guy or smth, causing my interest to pique about his character, ultimately picking up the lost hero. It's a little ironic actually, that the more hate I saw about him, the more I actually started to like him MUCH before I even read the lost hero. I also over spoiled my self a little while looking his character up, so I found out that he died from the very beginning (huge mistake on my part)
And after I read the whole book, I just felt like the whole boring thing was a little too exaggerated by the fandom (imo!) bc I personally thought Jason's pov was great? Like his dry ass humour and stuff. Sure, NOT as great as Percy's of course, but still good nonetheless. Is it because people were disappointed that Percy wasn't the main character? Is it because I read it in an unbiased stance?
In retrospect, I found Jason and Reyna's povs a tad similar aswell, like the tone and the way they speak/think was eerily similar to me. Yet I don't really see any criticism on Reyna's povs? I personally enjoyed both of theirs.
So back to my original question, what do you guys dislike about his POVS? Why do you dislike it more, compared to the others in the 7?
I might get cancelled for saying this but, there were moments in SON where I found Frank's povs very dry/forgettable, that I was literally itching to get to Hazel's/Percy's, so how do you guys hate Jason's povs over Frank/Reyna/Piper etc?
What makes you like the other's povs compared to his (excluding Percy/annabeth since they're the ogs)

Another day, another question I'd like to throw out to the fellow Brokeback Mountain tag lurkers. This time, I wanna preface my question with a little background info:
When I first saw Brokeback Mountain I maintained the belief that, when Jack's father tells Ennis about how Jack's plans to bring a rancher up with him didn't "come to pass", it was because the rancher (who we can presume is Randall) backed out, and it was just one more disappointment in a string of failures that was Jack's life before he died. The final knife twist to the gut.
After reading a ton of fics and listening to a ton of podcast reviews abt the movie, though, I've come across a lot of different perspectives about the whole Randall thing. A popular idea amongst the Jack-was-murdered crowd is that Jack and Randall were somehow discovered and that is what led to Jack's death. Interestingly enough, there's actually an entire deleted scene of the film dedicated to this perspective—we don't have any footage of it, but as far as I could tell, the gist was that Jack and Randall were either coming back from or on their way to having one of their own "camping trips", when the camera focuses on a good ol' boy mechanic watching them very closely, foreshadowing the scene of Jack being beaten bloody that happens during Ennis' call with Lureen. This scene was deleted most likely because the filmmakers thought it was leading the audiences too much to a firm conclusion of Jack's death, and they wanted to maintain the tragedy of it's ambiguity from the short story.
Anyways, all this aside, I'm just kind of curious to know what others think went down with the whole Randall/Jack thing. What, exactly, did John Twist mean when he told Ennis that it didn't come to pass—was it actually a sure thing that they were going to move on up there, or was Jack putting his time and effort into another futile effort?
In relation to that, I'm also curious to know what y'all think about how the Ennis/Jack dynamic would have continued in the event that Jack didn't die? Like, if you think Randall and Jack were actually going to make a go of it, do you think that Jack would still sneak off to get his hits of Ennis twice a year while living at his parent's ranch with Randall? If he lived and still didn't get Randall, would Jack have moved on? After their last fight, would Ennis have heard from Jack ever again?

Royal AU x Locked in a Room
Keke I'm assuming you're asking for boy king au? 🤭🤭
I feel like they often get locked in rooms together because everyone is so done with their bickering. Like oh noooo we lost the key, you guys are gonna have to wait in there. Together. Alone. Unfortunately the locksmith lives across Vienna. Btw he’s scared of horse carriages. Oh no.
Don’t worry, Mark makes sure to lock them in a room with a notable lack of sharp objects. I think when they’re away from everyone else, away from their situation, they feel a lot more comfortable with each other. They’re stuck in a room for the foreseeable future with no one else watching, what is the real point of putting up a front anymore in this situation; this is the man they’re going to be stuck with forever after all, just not in the confines of this specific room. They are both a very specific breed of ultra competitive and devoted, so even though they’re having a perfectly “normal” conversation about literature they enjoyed(Fernando: Machiavelli’s The Prince, he says it's a very good, relatable and interesting guide. Seb: Don Quixote, he told Fernando it reminds him of a certain someone), to everyone outside, it’s like “oh god what is that muffled yelling, are they scuffling???”
When they’re not being scrutinized by the rest of the palace and court, I think they can have very calm constructive conversations about running the kingdom(no matter how seemingly competitive they sound.) Also even if Seb cares less about image than Fernando, I think he still definitely puts up a front, it’s just a lot less negative than Fernando; so this situation gives them a situation where they can be their most free and open selves. Yeah yeah they spend time alone together often, like in their bedchamber, but that still has a notable time limit most of the time, and technically one of them could just dip at any moment. So everytime they get conveniently stuck in a room, they come out of it a lot closer and a lot more aligned, and a lot more fond of each other. I say “come out of the room” but more often than not, they’re found passed out, cuddled together on some surface, the furniture and their clothes in disaray. I’ll leave it up to your imagination how they ended up there, and what their state of undress is 🤭

As a tentative thing in the wait to see if it eventually conflicts with Dain's business in Fontaine or not, I'm planning to establish a continuation from the Khvarena of Good and Evil questline to what concerns René and Jakob in Fontaine. It will make a good link by having his hands on René's notes and taking interest in what's written about corporal composition akin to the Abyss and the Harvisptokhm. This can open the door to a few new topics of interest that concern him too, specially as the Bough Keeper.
