But whatever I'm just lame and paranoid and hate fun . Or something
It's so hollow how people my age are obsessed with scrolling, it kindof stresses me out. Especially when people talk about how they can't pay attention anymore, like, are you listening to me? Or are you zoning out bc I've talked for too long? Are you reading what I write, or paying attention to what I draw? Or are you giving it a once-over and moving on? I feel like these are fair anxieties to have about my peers and the current state of social media, especially when it comes to the consumption-culture of visual art and writing. Doesn't help most artists exist on Tiktok and Instagram, two sites (apps) that force you to conform to restrictive formats and bar experimentation unless it is easily "consumed". It's bleak, and it's especially bleak that people who have fallen victim to these things are self aware about the trouble it causes them but can't pull themselves away from it for fear of "missing out" on some wider cultural fad that will disappear within a month.
