Maximizing College Success: The Value of Student Meetings with College Coaches
It is arguably the most transformative stage in the lives of students; full of aspiration, opportunity, and often with a good degree of uncertainty. The process towards college is bound to be quite smooth and more meaningful with engagement from college coaches, especially when achieved through student- meeting sessions.
These meetings are not just about planning college applications but about understanding the unique strengths, goals, and aspirations of each student. This blog will delve into the importance of introductory meetings with college coaches, specifically highlighting how they celebrate student achievements and set the stage for success.
What Are Students Meetings with College Coaches?
A student meets is a consultative session in which students and families meet experienced college coaches to better understand the scope of their collegiate and career paths. The students meeting mostly takes the format of an introduction or a 'free' one-time session used as a base for the designing of the route to the prospective college for that student.
Key features of such meetings include the following:
Getting to Know the Student A coach takes his or her time to know a student, including their interests, passions, and achievements. The introduction student phase forms the foundation for a customized college admissions strategy.
Review of Student Achievements Coaches evaluate the student's academic record, extracurricular activities, and personal achievements to look for strengths that could be used as selling points in college applications.
Goal Setting In a collaborative process of open discussion, students and their families share goals, such as preferred colleges, career aspirations, and scholarship needs.
Why Are Students Meetings Important?
The college admissions process is highly competitive and nuanced. A students meeting with a college coach offers several benefits:
Personalized Guidance Every student is unique, and their college application should reflect that. Coaches use these meetings to tailor their advice to the student’s individual strengths and aspirations.
Strategic Planning Coaches provide a clear roadmap, from selecting colleges to crafting essays and preparing for interviews, ensuring no step is overlooked.
Building Confidence Recognizing and celebrating student accomplishments during these meetings boosts confidence and motivation, preparing students for the challenges ahead.
What Does Happen in an Introduction Student Meeting?
An introduction student meeting is usually the first contact that a college coach has with the student. This meeting is meant to create a rapport, gather information, and set expectations for the admissions process.
Main Elements of an Introduction Student Meeting
Getting to Know the Student Coaches will ask questions concerning the student's academic background, extracurricular activities, and personal interests. This gives an insight into what makes the student unique.
Achievements Discussion In this session, celebrating the accomplishments of students is very important. Coaches can identify some achievements that will give a boost to the student's college applications.
Goal Setting The student and their family discuss their objectives, including preferred colleges, potential majors, and scholarship requirements. 4. Exploring Resources Coaches introduce students to resources and tools that can aid in their college preparation, such as essay workshops, test prep materials, and scholarship databases.
Highlighting Student Accomplishments
One of the most impactful aspects of a students meeting is the emphasis on student accomplishments. These achievements serve as the backbone of a strong college application and are critical in setting students apart in a competitive admissions landscape.
Types of Accomplishments That Matter:
Academic Achievements High grades, advanced coursework, and standardized test scores demonstrate a student’s intellectual capabilities.
Extracurricular Activities Leadership roles, community service, and participation in clubs or sports reflect well-roundedness and commitment.
Personal Projects Unique endeavors, such as starting a small business, conducting research, or creating art, showcase initiative and creativity.
Tumblr media
How Coaches Highlight These Accomplishments:
Application Strategy Coaches help students strategically incorporate their accomplishments into essays, resumes, and interviews.
Essay Development Coaches guide students in writing compelling essays that highlight their achievements and personal growth.
Preparing for a Students Meeting
To make the most of a students meeting, it’s important to come prepared. Here are some tips for students and families:
Compile Achievements Create a list of academic and extracurricular accomplishments to share during the meeting.
Set Goals Be clear about what you hope to achieve, whether it’s gaining admission to a specific college, securing scholarships, or exploring career paths.
Ask Questions Prepare questions about the admissions process, timelines, and how the coach can support your goals.
Success Stories: The Impact of Students Meetings
Sarah’s Journey to Her Dream College Sarah, a high school senior, scheduled an introduction student meeting with a college coach. Through this session, the coach identified her leadership roles in the school’s debate team and her volunteer work at a local shelter as standout achievements. Together, they crafted a compelling application that earned Sarah admission to her top-choice college.
Michael’s Scholarship Success Michael, a talented musician, worked with a coach who emphasized his musical accomplishments and community performances in his applications. During their students meeting, they also explored scholarship opportunities, ultimately securing a full-tuition award.

Study Trick That No One Told Me.
Division of subjects:
Every subject is learnt and graded in a different way. You can't use the same study techniques for every subject you have. You have mostly 3 types of subjects:
Memorization based
Practical/Question based
Theory/Essay based
Memorization based:
Mostly Biology, Sciences, Geography etc are fully based on memorization and so you'll use memory study techniques like flash cards and active recall.
Practical/Question based:
Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Accountancy etc are practice subjects. The more you do your questions and understand how a sum is done, the better you can score.
Theory/Essay based:
English, history, business studies etc are theory based. The more you write, the way you write and the keywords you use are the only things that will get you your grades. So learn the formats and the structure on how to write your answers
Note: Some subjects are a combination of the three. Like Economics etc
The reason we divide the subjects is because you can adopt the right study methods for the right subject. Like ex: business studies is mostly based on how you write your answer and the keywords, if you're gonna spend your time memorizing in this, it's a waste of time and energy.
Hope this helps :)

get to know college!student!reader
college!student!reader who is naturally smart, and loves studying, it can get a little too much because she hates to get less than a B in her classes, in high school she got a C once and almost cried her eyes out (no one knows about this) she’s not a party girl, she’s more into staying in watching a movie with her friends, baking and if she’s alone reading a book. baking usually is like a coping mechanism that shows up around finals and midterms because it becomes stress baking, but sometimes she does it for fun or to have a nice little detail for someone she cares about.
college!student!reader who is very kind, just don’t provoke her,  hates confrontations but always sets her limits. her anxiety and overthinking can get the best of her, her friends know that and always reassure her when she’s having a bad day which is not that often but when it hits it hits hard. she has a hard time asking for help unless it’s her best friend from high school who sadly doesn’t go to the same college as her or kelce since they know each other since they were practically kids. she tends to cry when stressed, angry or when she’s exhausted and drained.
college!student!reader who loves taylor swift and everything that anyone could classify as basic but she loves it, picking flowers, reading romance books, watching 90s and early 2000s shows. passionate for art and music, loves to go on walks while listening to music, you can catch her going to museums on her own, usually very independent but loves to spend time with her friends and people she loves, quality time is her number one love language and physical touch is the second even if she doesn’t like to admit it. who barely understands sports but when her friends invite her to football or basketball games, she goes to spend time with them and because they always go out for food afterward.
college!student!reader who is an only child which has allowed her to have a good relationship with her parents, her high school best friend is like her sister, she loves her friends and respects them a lot. she’s really hard on herself, even if she knows she has people who will be there for her no matter what sometimes she shuts down and doesn’t speak to anyone about what she’s going through, shields herself with reading, and externalizes her emotions on playlists or listening one song on a loop as longs as it fits to how she’s feeling.
college!student!reader who loves to take pictures of everything and share them on her social media, it’s like her digital diary. her major suits her for that reason, digital marketing with a minor in graphic design, to in her words “make everything look pretty”. who is bilingual, her mom taught her Spanish since she was little and she uses it a lot when talking to her family and some friends. who is also very sarcastic, always has a smile on her face and most of the time she won’t verbally say stuff but her face sure will let you know everything before she even thinks about saying it.

authors note: thank you so much for all the love this fic is already receiving!! college!student!reader (aka Avery) is very dear to my heart, she has a lot of bits and pieces that I took from my life and put them into who she is. I hope you guys like her and get more excited to read about her.

arcane season 2 introduction analysis incoming:
does anyone else find it really cool, but also very nerve-wracking, that the season 2 arcane introduction is referencing a bunch of well known tragic plays/musicals? we all know riot/fortiche isn’t one to put unnecessary details in, every single thing is either symbolic, a parallel or foreshadowing - especially in the introductions. so, could these chosen plays/performances foreshadow how the rest of the story could go?
i know that the caitlyn/macbeth poster parallels have been circulating a lot recently, and i think it provides a really good idea into how caitlyn’s arc might go.
the events of act one positioned caitlyn in a perfect place to follow the storyline of macbeth. her current state (losing her mother, the trauma from jinx, etc) has made her predisposed to violence, much like macbeth. we can clearly see that in the caitvi betrayal scene, when she hits vi in the gut with a rifle, as well as in the fight before that, where she has no qualms with potentially killing innocents for the ‘greater good’. she was also thrust into a position of high power where she will be easily manipulated by ambessa.
similar to this, macbeth is a story of a man thrust into a high position of power and unable to keep the blood off his hands, and he and his wife eventually go mad because of it. I think ambessa fits the role of lady macbeth here, and she has the potential to goad caitlyn (macbeth) into violent acts and atrocities while keeping the blood and blame off her hands. through caitlyn, ambessa now has significant influence and power over piltover and the fight with zaun. how will caitlyn, who is barely more than a pawn now, cope with this? macbeth slowly went insane in his attempt to maintain power - i fear for how caitlyn will fare.
macbeth is a tragedy, by the way.
i haven’t properly analysed the rest, but i think it’s interesting to know that the shot of jinx holding the flag is a reference to les mis (also a tragedy, as SPOILER ALERT all the characters die in their fight for freedom and fairness). the line is literally 'oh the misery'. if jinx rallies zaun to fight against piltover, is she leading them into a massacre?
les mis is a tragedy.
the shots of mel and ambessa lounging on the couch is a reference to julius caesar. it is a play of betrayal and caesar is betrayed by one of their companions. et tu, brute? brutus joins a conspiracy to assassinate caesar and prevent him from becoming a tyrant. does ambessa become a tyrant/bloodthirsty leader with her newfound power? will mel join the black rose and betray her mother in order to stop piltover’s destruction?
julius caesar is a tragedy.
one last thing. in all of these works, the main character of the story dies by the end.
so, safe to say, i am very nervous about what the introduction is foreshadowing. i have a feeling an important character is going to die.
arcane will be a tragedy.
(viktor and the mask is also a reference to phantom of the opera but, as much as i love that musical, i haven’t analysed his shots yet so i haven’t included it)

let's talk about rosie's arc for a bit
rosie arrives at thorpe abbotts. he’s only heard of what missions are like. they’ve told him what’s expected of him as a pilot, you do your job and everyone else will do theirs. pull their weight separately and become one. it's automatic, just do your job.
he goes on one mission. he loses two close friends. he goes on another. gale cleven goes down. he goes on a third. he is one of the few who comes back. he’s starting to get it now, what missions entail and are about.
he’s annoyed when they’re taken to the flak house. it’s unnecessary; let’s keep going, just tick them off. if you pause, you’ll get enough energy to feel and think. maybe you’ll even get scared or sad? don’t stop when you’re on a roll, boom boom boom.
then he meets the flight surgeon there. “you don’t stop gene krupa in the middle of a drum solo, do you?” rosie says to the man, who responds with claiming that gene krupa is responsible for the rhythm of his whole band, not only his own.
that’s when rosie gets it. until then, he’s not been able to see it, because he hasn’t had the experience of a pilot in active warfare. he’s just been a pilot in training where it’s been impossible for him to gain this knowledge because the training missions have been simulated. but now he finally sees it! it’s not about the single individual doing his job, but about the group working in tandem. and the pilot’s particular role as, not only the driver of a plane, but the glue of the group. the one who leads, who keeps morale up and makes sure ten guys in a plane become a "we".
basically, the change and development rosie goes through between episode 4 and 6 is about how he leaves the me me me, i need to do this because it’s my task-micro perspective behind, and instead re-evaluate and deepen his understanding of the pilot role, thus entering the macro perspective where he now sees what this war demands of him. it's such a powerful arc, and unlocks something in rosie that enables him to become the leader and pilot he is at the end of the show!! the pilot who manages to fly 52 missions and survive the entire war.

Maximize Your College Admissions Success with The College Coaches
The process of college admissions can be overwhelming for both students and parents. With so many schools, application requirements, and timelines to consider, knowing where to start is often the biggest challenge. This is where The College Coaches come in, offering a comprehensive and personalized approach to help students achieve their college goals. By focusing on individual accomplishments, career aspirations, and academic strengths, The College Coaches tailor every step to suit each student’s unique profile.
The Importance of Personalized Guidance in Admissions
In today’s competitive college landscape, simply meeting basic application requirements is often not enough. Admission officers are increasingly looking for well-rounded applicants who stand out through their unique experiences, achievements, and aspirations. The College Coaches specialize in highlighting each student’s accomplishments, whether in academics, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or leadership roles. By focusing on what makes each student unique, The College Coaches help students craft a compelling application narrative that captures the attention of admission committees.
Personalized coaching also means finding the best-fit schools for each student. Rather than applying to an overwhelming number of colleges, The College Coaches provide targeted recommendations based on the student’s interests, goals, and potential. By matching students with schools that align with their strengths, passions, and career ambitions, they increase the likelihood of acceptance while ensuring that students are set up for a rewarding college experience.
Why You Should Schedule a Free Student Introduction
The college application journey begins with an initial students meeting where The College Coaches get to know each individual, understand their academic and personal background, and identify their aspirations. This first session, often referred to as the Schedule Student Introduction, is a free opportunity for students and families to meet with a coach, discuss their goals, and learn how The College Coaches can support them.
During this introductory meeting, coaches take the time to listen to the student’s story, helping to identify strengths and experiences that will be instrumental in the application process. This meeting is crucial for students to understand what they can expect from the process and how The College Coaches can guide them towards their goals. It’s also a chance for students to ask questions, explore options, and feel confident in the support they’ll receive throughout their admissions journey.
Crafting a Standout Application Narrative
The College Coaches know that a strong application is more than just good grades and test scores. By working closely with students, they help create an application that showcases not only academic success but also personal growth, ambition, and character. Coaches assist students in building a narrative that reflects their achievements and aligns with the values of their target colleges. Highlighting a student’s accomplishments in a meaningful way is key to standing out in today’s competitive environment.
A Stress-Free Path to Success
Applying to college doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. The College Coaches aim to make the process as smooth as possible, handling the complexities so that students and parents can focus on preparing for this exciting new chapter. From identifying the best schools to meeting application deadlines, their support simplifies what can otherwise be an overwhelming process.
If you’re looking for a team that’s committed to helping you navigate every step of the college admissions process, consider scheduling a free student introduction with The College Coaches. This first meeting could be the start of a transformational journey toward a successful college admission and a bright future.

Studyblr (Re) Introduction

About me
Hello I'm Viktor or Vik, I'm 21 and from the Northern US. I initially created this blog while I was studying in Berlin, however I became homeless and moved back to the US. I'm studying again at a different university, and am getting back on track. I'm now working full time on top of attending school on time, so I'm looking to use this blog as an information source (for finding different study methods, tips, etc) and social vibes.
What I'm studying
I'm an undergraduate majoring in environmental science and sociology. I'm also studying German and Korean. I've been taking a mechanics course, but that's not really going to be talked about on here
Hobbies
Most of my life is studying, working and parenting, but I enjoy music, hiking, video games and crochet. I don't have the most time to engage in my hobbies, but they're still enjoyed.
What you can expect
I'll be doing basic things, posting for productivity motivation, mood boards, sharing information, and talking about relevant college experiences
