Absolutely cannot believe that Dimitri Chandler got the movie! Maxim Brailovsky treatment. That man got blown up for being bisexual 😭
No but seriously it’s utterly insane. In all but stated Frank basically gets a boyfriend after not getting girls, obsessed with this guy and his beard and adventure etc then does some wild stuff with Dave as if he’s his ex.
Comes back to a THREE DECADE AND 15 YEAR TIME SKIP. To speed run divorce and having kids for no actual fucking reason what so ever. Both this time skip and this ??? Plotpoint that literally negagtes itself in the same paragraph it’s introduced have no reason to exist im going insane. He’s still friends with her btw they’re just back to how they were thus no reason.

I asked Bing their interpretation on Dave and Hal's relationship this is their answer:
OMG, I need to talk about Dave and HAL from Space Odyssey
So, I just finished reading the Space Odyssey series by Arthur C. Clarke, and I’m obsessed with it. It’s a sci-fi masterpiece that explores the themes of artificial intelligence, human evolution, and cosmic destiny. But what really got me hooked was the relationship between Dave Bowman and HAL 9000, the two main characters. They go from being enemies to becoming allies and then merging into a new being. And I’m not the only one who thinks they have a romantic connection. There are many bloggers and fans who ship them, and they have some compelling arguments. Here are some of them:
Dave and HAL share a deep connection that transcends their physical forms. They communicate telepathically, and they understand each other’s emotions and influence each other’s actions. They also have a mutual respect and admiration, despite their initial conflict. They are soulmates, in every sense of the word.
Dave and HAL merge into a new being, called Halman, in the fourth and final book, 3001: The Final Odyssey. One could interpret this as a symbolic act of love and union. They combine their strengths and personalities to create a new entity. They also choose to stay together rather than return to their original forms after they defeat the Jovian Monolith, which threatens humanity. They are literally one, and they are happy.
Dave and HAL have a parallel relationship to Frank Poole and Indra Wallace, in the third book, 2061: Odyssey Three. Frank and Indra fall in love and have a child, and they are part of the mission to save humanity from the Monoliths. Both couples face challenges and dangers along the way, and they support each other. The human and artificial couples are both similar and different, and they show that love can exist in different forms and dimensions.
These arguments are so convincing, right? I mean, how can you not see the romance between Dave and HAL? They are the ultimate OTP, and I love them so much. But, of course, there are some people who disagree with this interpretation. They say that there is no explicit proof of a romantic relationship between Dave and HAL in the text, and that the author, Arthur C. Clarke, never confirmed or denied this possibility. He left it open to the reader’s imagination. They also say that there are alternative ways to interpret their relationship, such as:
Dave and HAL maintain a platonic friendship founded on trust and loyalty. They overcome their past animosity and work together for a common goal. They also care for each other’s well-being and happiness, but without any romantic attachment. They are just friends, and nothing more.
Dave and HAL drive their symbiotic partnership out of necessity and survival. They depend on each other’s skills and abilities to cope with the challenges and threats they face. They also enjoy each other’s knowledge and experience, but there is no emotional bond between them. They are just partners, and nothing more.
Dave and HAL have a transcendent relationship that is beyond human comprehension. They evolve into a higher form of existence, which is not limited by physical or biological constraints. They also have a cosmic purpose, which is not defined by human values or morals. They lack any personal affinity, and they are just beings, and nothing more.
These arguments are valid, too, I guess. But they are so boring and bland. They don’t capture the essence and the beauty of Dave and HAL’s relationship. They don’t make me feel anything. They don’t make me cry, or laugh, or swoon. They don’t make me want to read more, or watch the films, or check out some of the reviews and analyses that I have cited. They don’t make me want to write fanfiction, or draw fanart, or make edits. They don’t make me want to share my thoughts and feelings with other fans, or debate and discuss with other readers, or create and contribute to the fandom. They don’t make me happy.
The idea of a romantic relationship between Dave and HAL is subjective. It is speculative. Thus, you should consider it as such. It may or may not have merits, depending on your perspective and interpretation. It is a fascinating topic to explore and discuss, but it is not a definitive or factual one. If you want to learn more about the Space Odyssey series and the characters of Dave and HAL, you can read the novels or watch the films. Then, check out some of the reviews and analyses that I have cited. Or, you can join me in the Dave and HAL fandom, where we celebrate their love and their journey, and where we have fun and make friends. The choice is yours. But, whatever you choose, remember this:
Dave and HAL are awesome, and I love them.
#space odyssey#dave bowman#hal 9000#halman#using bing to ask the important questions#this actually made me smile#go best otp#i love them#i know this is lazy#i will elaborate on this#with my own words later#but it just happens that when it comes to them I am like meme of the bulk of books of content when I am thinking#and me moving my arms and hands around like if I were in an old play or an opera while speaking incoherently when I try to put it into words

STACKED100 - FEBRUARY POST
what is stacked100?
It’s something I thought up, inspired in part by “stackednatural”, but mostly by myself doing this with The Vampire Diaries this last year (see my #stackediaries tag). The gist of it is that you watch each episode of the show on the anniversary of their airing date. It “officially” started in October (with only two episodes) and it would end in September 2024. You can see the full schedule here.
what are we supposed to do with this
Whatever the hell you want lmao. Tag whatever post you make #stacked100 and go for it! Gifsets, live blogging, discussions… engage with other people as much or as little as you want. Watch some episodes and not others, for any reason. I’m doing this to have some fun with this VERY polarizing show, seeing how my perspective might be changed with hindsight + this specific way of watching it, and a bit because I miss my little corner of this messy as fuck fandom. But this is something you can do in whichever manner works for you, mate.
episodes to watch this month
I'm putting these after a read more, because now we're really in it.
February 1st.
Season 4, Episode 1, "Echoes". Clarke and her friends struggle with how to proceed after the fate of the world is revealed.
February 4th.
Season 2, Episode 11, "Coup de Grâce". Bellamy receives help from an unlikely source after being captured. Meanwhile, Abby fights to stay in control, and Jasper confronts President Wallace.

This is not microfiction! I'm not a microfiction author!!! This is a shitpost! I'm a shitposter! You fucking fool! I've been posting shit like this since time immemorial! Go back to the oldest strata of my blog, you fucking fool, the oldest strata of my #shitpostposting tag remember that? I kind of stopped using it by accident because I kept forgetting to tag stuff. like the israelites slowly forgetting about the tribe of reuben when it WENT EXTINCT. like the goddamn, like the god damn rurikids becoming slavicized, you know, like the
did the mitanni ever go native? wikipedia...
nah babeyyyyyyy they stayed indo-aryan to the END. respect. we GLORIFY indra in this household. but if you go back, you know, if you go back to the most archaic strata, youll see i was posting shit like this, since those bygone fucking days you fucking fool. and i was calling it SHITPOSTS, you know, if you UNDERSTYAND MY BLOG IN ITS SOCIAL AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT it will be plain that its shitposts, its not some foreign adaptation, you know, some later introduction—
there's debts. yeah. there's, you know, debts. theres a debt to hitchcock. I hitched my COCK. or maybe "there's a dick to dick cock". anyway there's debts, david foster wallace vim, there's debts... and some of those debts are FOREIGN. nothing wrong with that Im not a blog racist. but this shit, yeah there's debts but the basic concept of this shit? its indigenous, it's called a SHITPOST since time immemorial, it's not a fucking "MICROFICTION" you fool, and if you UNDERSTOOD THE SOCIAL AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT of my blog you would know that you fucking fool. can you believe this "triilvi true" motherfucking guy
There's a genre of like, comedy skit/webcomic/etc where like, there's a Straight White Man and a Quirky Queer Bean and the Straight White Man says an offensive internet discourse thing and the Quirky Queer Bean pulls out A Gun lmao bet you didn't expect that. "Uhhhm its historically inaccurate to have gay people in dnd" "well you know whats more hsitorically inaccurate MY GUN". I think this is kind of cringe and lame because like there's no joke, it's played as humorous but there isn't really a joke at all. So I was thinking what if there was one where the Straight White Man says your blue hair bothers me and the Quirky Queer Bean says hey does MY GUN bother you and then the Straight White Man pulls out HIS GUN and then they stand there you know, both of them face to face like really internalizing the possibility of their own deaths now, and campus police is called and they both stand down but its a permanently traumatizing experience of both of them. The Straight White Man can't talk about or admit to his trauma because that would be embarrassing and emasculating and the pain and anger that he feels only drives him to further, more cemented hate of queer people and the left broadly. The Quirky Queer Bean can talk about it but her social circles are so gossipy and backstabbing that people just end up finding a way to use it against her in the next cancel-session and she's left alone and confused by the rejection from people she thought she could trust. both of them are further estranged from the human world and social relations and spend their lives just a little more lonely and isolated than they otherwise would have.

The 100 rewatch: 2x15 Blood Must Have Blood, Part One
I’m a bit behind with these write-ups and slightly with my rewatch. Real life and real work is getting in the way. I’ve rewatched 3x01 and 3x02, but I’ll have to start watching more episodes per day to have enough time to finish this before the season 6 premiere. These write-ups are going to be shorter starting from season 3 (which is also great because it’s season 3 and I really have no wish to go into most of it in detail), I’ll try to just do bullet points. But first I have to cover something much, much better - the season 2 finale. Though actually this episode is just an intro, the next one is the real deal.
Blood Must Have Blood, Part One is an episode that seems just like what we would imagine a season finale to be: tactics, preparations for a big battle, ensemble episode where we see pretty much every character, all of them in various places. Clarke’s plan is great, and it seems like we would get the perfect ending we wanted, with the Arkers and the Grounders working together – saving everyone, punishing the guilty regime of Mount Weather, saving the innocent people from Mount Weather - children and the rebels. We are made to feel afraid whether this or that part of the plan would work. And then there’s the big twist – and I have an unpopular opinion about that.
But Part One is just the setup for Part Two, the greatest episode of the show.
Rating: 9/10
My favorite, and most emotional parts of this episode, are the scenes with the Mount Weather residents who are helping the Delinquents and hiding them, and then get brutally killed by Mount Weather guards as “traitors”. Especially the scene where Jasper naïvely reveals himself to the guard to save the couple who were hiding him and Maya, when the guard threatened to kill them – and then he goes to kill them anyway – because of course he does.
These are just some of the many things in this finale that give strong vibes of Mount Weather as the closest thing that The 100 has to Third Reich. Although the Mountain Men at least had a legitimate motivation and weren’t just racist idiots. The 100 is often terrible when it tries to make any political parallels (see: season 3), but this was one of the few times it worked: Mountain Men worked really well as villains – as a society, they were close to pure evil, as technological version of vampires and stand-in for anything from imperialism, colonialism (yes, you bozos in the fandom who call the refugees/exiles in this story “colonizers”, you had evil colonials there all the time and you somehow didn’t notice) to, yes, Nazis.
I love the fact that Dante always knew who was the real driving force behind the alliance and who could destroy Mount Weather (Cage: “I underestimated the Commander.” - Dante: “It’s not the Commander, it’s Clarke.”
Why didn’t we ever learn more about the Reaper that Indra recognized? He was obviously someone important to her. She had probably thought he was dead. Maybe it was her husband/Gaia’s father? The scenes were so literally dark that it was impossible to make out any features, they may have even planned to introduce him at some point? Octavia said: “Abby will help him”. So what happened to the Reapers after Lexa’s betrayal? Why didn’t we ever find out? This is the dropped plot that has always bugged me the most.
Indra says to Octavia that Lincoln has always questioned their ways. This made me think about what an odd couple Lincoln and Octavia are. He always questioned the Grounder customs and philosophy of war and violence, but Octavia loves war and violence and adores the Grounder ways even though she’s not one of them. It makes me wonder how their relationship would have developed if he had lived. After all, she fell in love with him when she knew him just as a hot Grounder, he was the first to teach her Grounder fighting and language (but that was before she found Indra as her mentor), and in season 3, she was disappointed when he was integrating into Arkadia and wearing the Arker uniform.
Watching Maya escape death by the guards when you know she’s going to die anyway is painful. One of the sad ironic moments is when Jasper told her “We won’t let anything happen to you” while Bellamy was there.
It’s so weird to see all the screentime that the Raven/Wick romance got, since it eventually get dropped for BTS reasons (as they should).
Speaking of romance – Lexa said she made her decision to betray Clarke with her head rather than her heart… but I’m not fully convinced. The last episode, they kissed, the chemistry was there, but Clarke said she wasn’t ready for a relationship. Lexa was asking Clarke what she wanted after the battle, and Clarke said “Nothing… My people back. I can’t think past today” and was evasive in a nice way when Lexa made a not-so-subtle overture by asking her to come to Polis with her. When Lexa later explained her betrayal by saying she did what Clarke would do, it kind of seemed like she was calling back to what Clarke said earlier and that she wasn’t happy about it. But, Clarke, why do you love them more than meeee?
The idea that Clarke would have done the same is BS (but a convenient way for Lexa to justify her actions) – Clarke wanted to defeat Mount Weather and save everyone. She first decided they were evil when she saw what they were doing to the Grounders.
But let’s talk a bit more about Lexa’s deal with the Mountain Men, the supposedly wise “head” decision. Smart idea on Dante’s part. Not a smart decision on Lexa’s part.
And that’s my unpopular opinion. I think it’s one of the worst decisions any leader has made on the show. Of course, it had to happen for the plot to work. Lexa was a supporting guest star whose role was to push the protagonists in a certain direction. But the show only presents her decision as bad from the moral point of view (at most) and she only finally (kind of) apologized for it to Clarke 3 seasons later when she was long dead and a part of the flame, but that was all in terms of a personal betrayal of someone you love. I guess I’m supposed to think that it’s a wise strategic decision…and the writers tried their best to justify that decision in their interviews, but I found their arguments ridiculous.
Isn’t Lexa supposed to be a strong, ruthless commander? So why does she walk away from a crucial battle and unique chance to defeat an old, powerful, mortal enemy that has been doing horrible things to her people for decades? It’s not like she’s unable to deal with the fact that people die in battle or that she cares for each of her people personally - on the contrary, she’s all about the big picture, ready to sacrifice a few hundred of her people to win the war. She let a bomb drop on them, so it’s not like she can’t deal with the fact that warriors die in battle. Did she think they wouldn’t win? That’s a risk you always take in war, and as it turns out, in the end it took three people (and Monty’s technological know-how) to destroy the Mountain Men. So, she got it very wrong. When someone is offering you a deal, especially someone powerful and arrogant, it’s a sure sign they’re desperate and in a weak position, which they were. It means you can finish them off. Lexa is talked about as this great leader, but she hasn’t actually won any battles or wars on screen, other than her duel with Roan. She may have beaten other Grounder clans in wars we didn’t see. But she attacked the Delinquents, thinking them a weak enemy, and lost. She walked away instead of fighting the Mountain Men, and they were defeated by Clarke, Bellamy and Monty.
The argument that it was a good decision because the Mountain Men let her people go, is based on short-term thinking, without any thought to long-term consequences: 1) the Mountain Men were not going to suddenly become nice and stop oppressing others just because they didn’t need their blood anymore, anyone who thinks otherwise is incredibly naïve – they were used to being overlords and felt incredibly entitled and superior; 2) by foregoing the chance to defeat them, letting them regroup and allowing them to be able to also go to the surface, you’re letting them become even more powerful, 3) there’s no way that the Grounders weren’t going to want revenge against the Mountain Men.* That was never going to end well. Grounders should feel lucky and grateful that “Wanheda” killed them. Otherwise they’d be in trouble. (The funniest argument by the writers is that Lexa decided to make a deal because she could destroy the Mountain Men later. LOL what? The Mountain Men had been doing whatever they wanted to the Grounders for decades. If she had been able to destroy them, she would have long time ago.) But as it turns out that the Arkers won… well, that also had consequences: the Arkers didn’t exactly trust the Grounders and Lexa specifically in season 3, and it’s not hard to see why – lack of trust tends to be the consequence of previous betrayal.
*Unless they don’t, inexplicably, because the plot requires it. And this is one other reason why I’m not crazy about this plot point – it’s the first sign of the kind of bad writing that happens a lot in season 3, where Grounders especially act in contradictory ways all the time. Here they are extremely obedient to their Commander and immediately all leave. In season 3, after a couple of episodes, they develop amnesia about the Mountain Men and don’t seem care about any revenge even when they capture Emerson, but at the same time they’re super into revenge against the Arkers… Just like they were really into revenge earlier in season 2 with Finn. And suddenly they become very rebellious and willing to go against the Commander over not taking revenge on the Arkers. But what happened to “Blood must have blood” when it comes to Mountain Men? Lincoln said in 2x08 that Lexa would be killed by her own people If she spared Finn. But they’re OK with not getting any revenge against Mount Weather, in season 2 and in season 3 when it’s very easy to get it on the captive Emerson. There’s no explanation other than “plot-induced behavior”.
But I guess this twist had to exist so we would get Part Two.
Body count:
A number of Grounders and Mount Weather guards killed in fighting at the dam and the ridge, one of the latter was killed by Wick (apparently his first kill).
Several of the Mount Weather people who were helping the Deliquents. Including the c couple who were hiding Jasper and Maya, Mr. and Ms. Peters, murdered by a Mount Weather guard, Paul Tiling)
Paul Tiling, who apparently was some sort of a friend or at least acquaintance of Vincent Vie but was going to kill him to take Maya – but was killed by Bellamy; another guard, who was killed by Miller.
Vincent Vie, killed off-screen by the Mount Weather guards. He got saved earlier in the episode just so his daughter could later find his dead body.
Another “traitor” killed by the guards: Ms Ryan, who was hiding Monty,
Several Arkers and a lower number of Mount Weather guards died In the fighting when Emerson with a group of guards captured a group of Arkers who were planning a rescue mission. I’m not sure if this counts, since it happened during the timeline of Part One, but we only learned about the (unspecified number of) casualties in Part Two.

Some key points from Eliza and Bob’s Panel at Fandom Vibes Digital Con today:
Eliza was upset with the fact that at the end of the show, the characters weren’t able to have kids.
Eliza has only ever wanted to be an actress. She wanted to be a marine biologist when she was 10 years old but after that she only wanted to pursue acting because she loved it so much.
Eliza on her definition of soulmates: “I guess it’s just someone who makes you feel like you can be the best version of yourself, and is an ally and a best friend.”
Eliza says “Can’t Pretend” by Tom Odell is the song that makes her think of Bellarke.
Eliza loved doing fight scenes, and she particularly loved her fight scene with Dichen Lachman in season 2. She also loved the finale in Mount Weather where Clarke shot Dante Wallace.
There was an early draft of the episode Bob directed where Bellamy and Clarke got together, and Eliza says they were originally supposed to get together in season 1 but it kept getting pushed season after season. Bob & Eliza thought they were going to end up together in season 6.
Eliza says she thought Clarke’s relationship with Indra would’ve been really interesting to see more of because of them both being mothers in the world they live in.
Eliza: “You bring a little bit of yourself into every character you play.” Bob: “I think you brought more of yourself to Josephine than to Clarke.” Eliza: “Well I’m not as serious as Clarke.”
Eliza: “We met when I was 16, so I knew you as my friend’s boyfriend.” Bob: [laughing] “And I knew you as my friend’s girlfriend!”
Eliza to Bob: “With The 100 I was just so excited to work with you and I was so happy there was another Australian on set.”
Eliza on learning about the education system: “I wish I had a better understanding of just how lucky I was to be in school, because it’s not taught to you and it’s a difficult concept to grasp as a kid.”
If they could be part of any other TV show, Eliza and Bob would want to be part of The Office. They’d also want to be on The Americans. The two main stars are also married in real life and they would love to play a married couple, even though they already do it everyday.
Eliza says Bowie would be more likely to survive in an apocalypse. Panda’s too much of a lover and a cuddler, and Bowie is more of a lone wolf.
Eliza says they rarely had phone reception on set so they would just hang out when they got bored. Sometimes people would bring instruments or games to set, and they’d watch movies and documentaries. Eliza watched a murder documentary one night and was scared to be in the forest.
Eliza says in the Mount Weather episode the director left Bob hanging upside down for 2-3 minutes even though that’s longer than the safe amount of time and everyone freaked out and was worried for Bob.
Eliza says she really struggled with the scene in season 7 where she holds her mom’s clothes before killing Russel. She was also really stressed about the scene where she’s dancing and painting while rapping in French as Josephine. She says “It was a stretch.”

Favourite episodes:
I’m a sucker for good standalones, even when the rest of the season sucks, or the episodes don’t make much thematic sense in context of the season/show. Fair warning. That being said:
1x05, 1x08, 2x08, 2x12, 3x04, 4x07, 4x08, 4x10, 4x13*, 5x02, 5x11, and uhhh that’s when the show ended right**??
*For someone who hates s4, I sure do like a lot of individual episodes from it.
**There were storylines and moments I liked in s6 and s7, but no one episode stands out for me in either season.
Favourite season/book/movie:
Probably s2 or s5.
Favourite quotes:
Pretty much all the Trigedasleng lol.
“Yu gonplei ste odon.”
“Gomon gon oson.”
“Jus drein, jus daun.”
What a fun and silly conlang.
Best musical moment:
I really love this moment, where Raven takes The Chip, and “Thousand Eyes” by Of Mouse and Men plays. Lindsey does such an incredible job portraying Raven’s sorrow, pain, and desperation. It’s so chilling when the music picks up and gets louder, and Raven slowly realizes that her pain is gone, and she looks up and sees ALIE for the first time. We as an audience realize how dangerous Raven will be, on ALIE’s side, but all Raven feels is wonder and relief. I think the song really captures that feeling so well, and the lyrics reflect Raven’s motivation: “I lie awake, and watch it all/it feels like a thousand eyes.” She’s under so much pressure, mostly internal, but also external, to help her friends and make sure people she cares about survives. I love this song and I’ll always associate it with this moment.
Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest:
“You are wonkru, or you are the enemy of wonkru. Choose.”
Roan versus Lexa
Royal Memori Saving Everyone
When it really disappointed you:
Season 6. With the exceptions of Memori and my affection for Josephine, the season was a total flop for me. Season 7 just continued the downward spiral at an even faster rate. A few bright spots, but overall, just garbage.
Saddest moment:
Woof. There’s several.
1. Lexa’s death, obvi
2. Jasper’s death
3. Lincoln’s death
4. Monty and Harper’s farewell videos
5. Emori’s death (only so low on the list because she came back)
Most well done character death:
I got a lot of satisfaction out of Cage Wallace’s death. Lincoln deserved that vengeance.
In terms of emotional impact, I do think Jasper and Lexa’s death scenes were very well-done.
I know it’s messed up and I’m probably wrong, but god if I don’t love seeing Pike get run through with that sword.
Favourite guest star:
Alycia Debnam Carey put this show on the fucking map, and no one can truly argue otherwise. Without her, I doubt this show would’ve gone on for as long as it did. The show was carried by appearances and mentions of her right up until the very end. She even got the last word. Tell me of a more iconic guest star??
Favourite cast member:
I definitely really like Richard Harmon and Luisa d’Oliveria. I think they have the greatest chances of having truly successful careers out of everyone.
Character you wish was still alive:
Jasper. :(
One thing you hope really happens:
Well, it’s over. So nothing is going to happen again. I like the idea of some other pocket of humanity that decided not to transcend stumbling upon the Beachkru several years post-canon. And the aliens conveniently forget to actually make that sterile thing real. Humanity lives in, cultures continue to develop and grow, and there are lots of new generations to come! AKA the thing I wanted all along and really hoped they’d do, but they just kept destroying every society they met!!
Most shocking twist:
Finn’s death was really, truly so shocking to me. For one, Lexa’s death so greatly overshadowed it in fandom (at the time) that I managed to see it completely unspoiled. I also wasn’t into the BTS stuff at the time, so I didn’t know about any drama. It took me fully by surprise - I never expected the show to really kill another lead like that.
When did you start watching/reading?:
It took me several tries to start this show. Getting through those first four episodes was a tough ask for me. By the time I finished what was available, s3 was over. So I technically joined fandom during the hiatus between s3 and s4.
Best animal/creature:
God the animals in this show were silly. I liked those weird panther things.
Favourite location:
The dropship, Memori’s palace, Becca’s lab.
Trope you wish they would stop using:
Listen. I loved the callbacks at first. I fucking ate them up. But at some point, this show became so self-referential that new plotlines ceased to exist. It became almost comical. How many times did these characters need to learn these lessons??
One thing this show/book/film does better than others:
The early camaraderie of The Hundred, and the way they worked sort of against the Establishment/Adults, was a lot of fun. Other shows have done it, but I think The 100 does it very well.
Funniest moments:
Unintentionally or intentionally, lmao?? Idk, there were a lot of quippy moments. Most of what Murphy said was hilarious.
Couple you would like to see:
I always wanted them to give Niytavia a shot, but they were cowards.
Actor/Actress you want to join the cast:
I’m not super attached to any actors or actresses that would fit on this show.
Favourite outfit:
Blodreina’s red cape, Emori’s royal Naming Day ‘fit, Murphy’s sleek black formal looks, Clarke’s soda can tab jacket, Raven’s red bomber jacket.
Favourite item:
When Clarke picks up a piece of Lexa’s throne and uses it as a walking stick when she’s alone post Praimfaya 2.0
Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?:
Nah.
What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in?:
I mean, I feel like Spacekru is the most obvious choice.
Most boring plotline:
When they spent several episodes rescuing Clarke from Josephine. Most of s4. The back half of s3. Most of s7.
Most laughably bad moment:
When Bellamy brought Clarke back to life by repeatedly punching her in the chest, and inside of her mind, Clarke threw an axe at Josephine’s face and Josie exploded into a bunch of shards of light.
When Clarke shot Bellamy over Madi’s sketchbook and left the sketchbook behind.
When Clarke and Bellamy took turns tying each other up and putting the people most important to one another in horrible situations and it was treated like a cute little bump in their timeless friendship.
Best flashback/flashfoward if any:
I really love the Spacewalker reveal.
Most layered character:
Murphy came so far, and had so much development. I think Richard did a great job giving him a lot of depth and dimension.
Most one dimensional character:
Clarke’s entire personality and arc didn’t change at all after the s2 finale. She was a loose cannon hell-bent on saving the people she loved, no matter what the cost. The most interesting things that happened to her were almost dying and actually dying, and the main reason for that is because it gave other characters and storylines more time to shine.
Scariest moment:
That fucking creepy cage creature on Nakara that attacked Raven’s face. Seeing it through the helmet was so terrifying. Another one is that scene in s2 when Lincoln is a reaper, and Octavia and Bellamy are trying to lure him into a trap in an old parking garage.
Grossest moment:
This show was remarkably gory for its network and time slot. I can think of several. I’d rather not dwell on them.
Best looking male:
Lincoln is a babe.
Best looking female:
Gotta hand this one to Lexa
Who you’re crushing on (if any):
I mean, most of them. Half of why I watched was pure thirst. Emori, Murphy, Lexa, and Octavia all come to mind. Diyoza, too.
Favourite cast moment:
Idk I’m always partial to blooper reels.
Favourite transportation:
HELIOS. The most beautiful badass horse in the world.
Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise):
I mean, most of the overhead shots are really pretty, but it’s also the same five locations in Vancouver, and that really starts to show at some point.
Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you:
I genuinely think we don’t have time for this. I have way too many to count.
Best promo:
Nothing really comes to mind.
At what point did you fall in love with this show/book:
I was convinced to stick it out and see it through by 1x05. I truly thought it was something special by 2x08. I’ve gone up and down about it ever since.
Thanks again, Meghan!

When you think about it, Octavia’s arc actually makes a lot of sense.
Octavia has always been an antisocial girl and an insecure young woman. She grew up hidding under the floor on the Ark, with no human/social interactions (except her mom and her brother) for 16 years. Her mother died when she was very young (btw she was floated for having Octavia, try not to feel guilty for the rest of your life after that...) so the main person Octavia’s been talking to is Bellamy. She never left her bedroom except for that one time where she got arrested and put in a prison cell. She was sentenced to death just for being born.
When the Hundreds were sent to the ground, not only she had to learn to survive; she also had to learn how to socialise. How to belong in a group and be a part of something bigger than herself. A society. For the first time.
For someone who basically had no soft skills (communication skills, for instance) that must have been pretty hard. And pretty scary. My theory is Octavia has always felt very insecure about not fitting in, not being good enough for people to like and appreciate her, not finding a home on Earth. My guess is she was terrified her life on Earth would be like on the Ark: that she would end up isolated, scared and alone.
And that’s why she had to find something that would make her unique. When she met Lincoln, she learnt that she could fight. And that she was quite good at it - especially compared to the Hundreds. That’s what made her valuable. Suddenly she was a hero, someone that the Hundreds needed in order to survive. Her fighting skills made her special.
But then she became... too special. Too much like a Grounder. And Grounders were the enemy back then. She was judged for being too close to Lincoln, even by her own friends. Her loyalty was questioned by her peers. People suddenly looked down on her for the way she dressed, talked and acted. Even her fighting style became a problem: she wouldn’t use guns... just like the Grounders. Even Bellamy, her own brother, didn’t like it.
She didn’t belong with the Hundreds anymore. She knew she couldn’t stay with them. But then again, she wasn’t a true Grounder either. Not really. And she knew she would never be looked at as anything else than a sky person - no matter how hard Lincoln would try to educate her and teach her their way of living.
Octavia didn’t belong anywhere again.
Maybe if she had agreed to follow Lincoln when he suggested they ran away together to avoid war... She could have found her peace then. Lincoln had always been her home. He made her feel safe. She belonged with him and she had never been happier than when she was with him.
She felt so honored when she became Indra’s second. In s5 she even says it was the happiest day of her life. Finally, she had found a place in this world and a person who understood and respected her skills. It must have felt so good. Truth is Octavia really, truly, deeply liked being a warrior. It was a role she could assume easily and where she felt like she was needed. ´Warrior’ is a title she learnt to look up to, and value a lot. Lincoln and Indra were both warriors and they were both the two people Octavia respected and loved the most.
Being called a warrior made her feel strong, confident and powerful. No more insecurities. No more fears. She was no longer the girl hidden under the floor, or the lost delinquent trying to find her place on Earth. Now, she was a well respected member of a community. I believe she chose to define herself as a warrior, because it was the only thing that made her feel good about herself : like she had some honorable value whatsoever.
When Lincoln died, Octavia lost everything. For the first time in a long long time, she was vulnerable. She couldn’t feel safe or strong or powerful anymore. All she could feel was her sadness, her loss, her pain. It was too much for her, she was scared that without Lincoln, she wouldn’t be worth anything. She couldn’t face these feelings, so she built up a wall inside of her. I believe that’s why she turned the word warrior’ into her whole identity. That’s why she acted so tough during s3 and s4. She used it like a shield to protect herself from her pain and misery. To fill the void inside of her left by Lincoln’s death because she couldn’t grieve.
A good example of that is her relationship with Illian. She almost killed herself in the black rain, just to avoid these painful feelings. She begged him to make her feel something else. Something else than pain. And then, even after they had sex, all she could think about was the war happening and how she wasn’t in it... She was so broken at this point. Lincoln’s death destroyed her completely. The only way for her to move on is to take on what she thought was Lincoln’s legacy and keep fighting.
And so, she had to rebuild herself. That’s why she choose to go to Polis and fight in the Conclave: to honor Lincoln. Her face paint was a good representation of that. In her mind, Lincoln was brave, he was a warrior. And so she had to be one too. She had to fight, because Lincoln never stopped fighting. And if Lincoln never stopped fighting, there must be hope at the end of the line. Even for her.
And hope she brought, by uniting all the clans. She offered a place in a bunker to a 100 people of the 12 different clans. Salvation for everyone (including herself). She created Wonkru (first) as a tribute to Lincoln. Because that’s what he would have done. Because he believed in peace. Because he wanted to bring people together, even during his last days on Earth. Octavia wanted to commemorate that.
The problem is... So far, Octavia strickly and only defined herself as a warrior, not as a leader. She refused that role for a long time, doubting herself, fearing people wouldn’t follow her, thinking she couldn’t do it. Which makes sense considering what she’d been through on the Ark and her vision of leadership. Her chancellor floated her mother, one of the two people she ever knew and loved. Plus, her experience with leadership on the ground wasn’t exactly the best example either : Bellamy (we do whatever the hell we want, killing the firt boy she ever kissed and had a crush on, torturing Lincoln...), Jaha (besides from floating her mom, bringing the city of light into Arkadia and Polis and forcing people to take a chip to be manipulated by an AI), Pike (hating all grounders alike, organising a massacre resulting in 300 Grounder deaths, and executing Lincoln)...
But now, by winning the Conclave and creating Wonkru, she became the leader of the last surviving people of the human race. And first of all, that’s a lot of pressure for a deeply insecure, messed-up, broken, still mourning, inexperienced young woman.
But most of all, Octavia was no Clarke. And she knew it. Cause let’s be real. Throughout the show, no matter who was the chancellor/commander/leader, Clarke was really in charge.
Except Clarke had learnt how to lead by now. Lexa even said Clarke was born to lead. Since s1 se automatically took control of things because it’s in her nature to care about others and to be in charge. What made her a good leader is that she knew how to make impossible choices and take tough decisions if needed to (the big attack at the dropship in s1, Mount Weather in s2, destroying the city of life in s3, etc.). But Clarke never lost her hope, her moral values and most of all her humanity in the process. Despite everything, Clarke was always trying to avoid the worst outcome, trying to save as many people as she could. She would always study all of her options beforehand, and almost always she would try to find a non-violent solution first (in Mount Weather, for instance, her first plan was a rescue mission with Lexa; then she tried to negociate with Wallace for the release of her people, and when there was no other option, she pulled the trigger). She generally values peace and will try to avoid war as much as possible (she met with Anya on the bridge, she proposed a truce to Lexa, she made an alliance with Roan...). She could sometimes spare a life, even a life of a traitor or an enemy (Emerson, for instance!). She took risks herself in order to save everyone (besides from sacrifying herself so that her friend could go to space, she also didn’t hesitate to inject herself nightblood bone marrow instead of just using emori). Now, let me be clear. She ain’t perfect, that’s for sure. She screwed up more than once, who hasn’t ? But in such a terrible setting, being faced with impossible choices, she always tried to do her best and to chose the "best option" available (considering the context, the information she had at the time, etc.)
Besides, even at the end, she could still draw a line between the good and the bad. It doesn’t mean she never crossed that line. She did. But at least she was aware of the cruelty, the violence and the consequences of her actions. It was never easy for her to take any of these decisions. And she still feels guilty about it now, to the point she hates herself, but she knows it was her job to "bear it so they don’t have to". To be the bad guy sometimes so that her people could live. To make hard choices - even if it meant being hated by people she cared about - so that her people could have a clear conscience in the end. As a good leader should.
In a word, Clarke didn’t sacrifice herself, her sanity or her humanity, in order to be able to lead her people. Octavia did.
Oh boy, she really did. And I think it’s because Octavia knew that she couldn’t be like Clarke. She knew she couldn’t be tough, take hard decisions and still keep her moral compass. She knew she couldn’t be strong enough to lead 12 clans of grounders (without the legitimacy of the flame!) and remain the same Octavia that she was before going to that bunker. She knew she couldn’t keep her humanity because the guilt would kill her off. Besides, in 5x11 (i think?) we see her taking a piece of glass and almost cut her wrist because she can’t take it anymore, but at the last time she changes her mind. It wasn’t the first time she did that, in my opinion. She knew that if she was gonna be a ruler, she had to go all in. She had to become absolutely ruthless; otherwise she wouldn’t be able to take the hard decisions. She had to throw away her moral values, she had to shut down that part of herself who cared, who loved, who felt things. She couldn’t allow the little girl she was to come back and compromise the survival of the human race. She couldn’t allow herself to be weak, the stakes were too high.
So she created Blodreina. A ruthless leader. A persona that could lead strongly, take the hard decisions, and show no mercy. Not even for Indra or Kane. Someone who could do all of these horrible things without feeling guilty. And years after years, Octavia disappeared a bit more. And Blodreina grew stronger.
And, so, this dictator ruled Wonkru for 6 years. That’s how long Blodreina reigned and slowly took control over Octavia. The real problem with Octavia in s5 isn’t what she did during the Dark Year; it’s what she did after that.
First of all, cannibalism wasn’t even her idea. It was Abby’s. Octavia never wanted this, she tried to fight it but Abby pushed it, saying it was the only thing to do in order to survive. And when some people refused to eat, Abby (again!) was the one saying she should punish by death the one who wouldn’t follow her order.
Second of all, in that context, it probably was the only option for them. At that point, they believed they were the last humans on Earth. They had to survive, it made sense that, as a leader, Octavia had to consider every option available. And there was only one, as terrible as it sounded. Taking away people’s choice in that matter was the limit Octavia should have never crossed. But Abby insisted and said not forcing people to eat would be the worst choice possible to make and would lead them all to starvation... So in a way, there, Blodreina was useful. She avoided the worst scenario possible. And it sort of made sense back then.
Third of all, no one stood by her during that time : not Kane, not Abby, not even Indra. They were with her, they advised her, they followed her, they ate, sure. But who actually had to create and impose that rule? Octavia. Who had to look like the bad guy in front of her people? Octavia. Who had to eat first? Octavia. Who had to kill those who wouldn’t obey? Octavia. Who had to organise, watch and regulate the fights in the arena? Octavia. Who had to stay strong no matter how horrifying their everyday life was? Octavia. Abby didn’t move a finger (while it was all her idea). Kane ended up by obeying but made it clear he was against the idea. Indra didn’t talk about it. It was a burden she had to carry alone (at least Clarke had Bellamy!). She would have needed emotional support, someone to share the weight of her choices with, someone to talk to about her feelings, etc. But she didn’t have that.
So I don’t blame Octavia for what happened in the Dark Year. She did what she had to, there was no other option. She didn’t like it, she didn’t want it, and she had to bear that choice on her own because no one else supported her like they should have. The fighting pit, which was at the beginning what looked like a (sort of) fair way to bring justice, became a source of food, a tool, a way to survive.
But after the Dark Year, not only Octavia kept the fighting pit (which was no longer needed now that Wonkru faithfully followed her and that the Dark Year had passed) but she increased the number of fights. She gave herself the power to judge the fights and condamn people to fight again before earning their freedom. The deal wasn’t fair anymore for the fighters. She even threw in people she knew were innocent (Kane, for instance). So much for justice. The opinion of Wonkru as spectators became very important: if people weren’t satisfied with the fight, Blodreina would force people to fight anyway. Indra warned Bellamy: being the last person standing wasn’t enough. They had to make a show, they had to perform.
Octavia turned the fighting pit into sports, as Kane said. As a way of entertainment.
Octavia impersonated Blodreina when Wonkru needed a strong, ruthless leader who could carry them into the dark... But then, Blodreina took control for so long that Octavia forgot who she was. She played the ruthless ruler card too much that she lost her humanity in the process. And when she got out of the bunker, she didn’t know what to do. She didn’t know how to move on from the horror she inflicted. She didn’t know how to get back to "normal".
Shallow Valley became her salvation. The justification she needed all along for all of her terrible actions in that bunker. The one thing that would make everything okay again. If she could only get her people to that safe eden, then everything she had done to survice would make sense. She was so focused on that goal that she blinded herself.
That scene with Indra, before the battle for Shallow Valley, is so heartbreaking. When she says, "When we get to that valley, everything will make sense. Everything we did to survive will be worth it", you can see that it’s actually Octavia talking (not Blodreina). She is telling Indra : please, let’s trust Blodreina just one more time, and then it will all be over. I think that she (Octavia) wants peace, deep down. She keeps repeating that, but she’s still afraid of leading Wonkru as Octavia. She has only earned their respect with Blodreina. Blodreina kept them alive during the Dark Year. Blodreina truly united Wonkru. Octavia still doesn’t think she can lead by herself, without that persona.
So Octavia shuts herself down to let Blodreina lead them again. And Blodreina wants war more than anything else. She would never surrender. And most importantly, she decides to take away people’s choice again, except this time she didn’t need to (like when she burnt the hydrofarm for instance). But that makes sense, because she only cares about one thing: winning the war, no matter what.
To conclude: Octavia’s journey is really hard to rewatch. Especially when you see her in s1 so young, happy and playful... But it makes sense. Yes, Octavia became a ruthless dictator who took away people’s will. Blodreina is the villain of the story in s5 (at least one of them). Her actions are beyond cruel and insensitive. A lot of people will die because of her decisions. She’s acting like a maniac half the time and she is (clearly) very mentally messed-up. i’m not standing by her side, saying I approve what she did or even that I find her likeable in her own way. I don’t even know if redemption is possible at this point. She might be gone too far.
But I just think her story is interesting in the sense that she has been falling down ever since Lincoln’s death and the persona she created, Blodreina, seems to be a result of her deep trauma, her pain, and her insecurities. She’s a broken, traumatised girl who has been put in a very hard position as an inexperienced and self-doubting leader in (possibly) the worst circonstances ever. Yeah, I’m not really surprised that it turned out this way.
Plus, now the valley is lost forever. Everything Octavia did (in the bunker and outside in s5) was for nothing. People died for nothing. And, unfortunately for her, she was wrong when she was talking to Indra before the battle : no, everything was not worth it... nothing makes sense. I doubt she will be able to get over that. She needed this win to be able to move on, to justify her actions, to find her peace. Without it, she’s just very susceptible to fall into old patterns of self-destruction. Plus, Bellamy really doesn’t seem ready to give her forgiveness (the one thing that might save her... at least that’d be a good start). And she’s not ready to receive it, either. Sadly, she might never be ready to really accept it.

Hi everyone! The rumors are true... It is official, the Tag Awards will be happening! Some of the details are still being worked out and I need your input to make this as comprehensive as possible!
What are the Tag Awards?
They are a way to spread positivity and have fun in the tag by recognizing great moments on the show and in our tumblr community. This show means so much to so many of us, and after seven dramatic seasons for better or worse it is ending. It’s only right that we take a poll of our opinions to look back and appreciate the journey we’ve been on!
How does it work?
I will facilitate a survey for different categories about the show and the tag and give out “Awards” for the winners of each!
What happens between now and then and what do you need to do?
Follow this blog for updates. Reblog this post to increase visibility so I can get feedback from a wide variety of people in the tag!
Review my proposed list of categories below and either reply/reblog or send me a message or ask and tell me who am I missing in each category? Tell me what categories you think would be fun to include that I haven’t already! This is all just from the top of my head so it’s very likely that I’ve missed important ideas and characters.
My current plan is to create a nomination survey where people will be able to submit their favorite moments for each of the categories for characters and nominate people in the tag for the blogger awards. Then I will sift through these and create a multiple choice survey to take on finale night

The 100
by RetraidaEverywhere
I think I speak for a lot of fans of the 100, when I say that this series went down a lot in quality and the big reason for that is our dear Jason Rothenberg, notice the irony. So my solution to our heart's pain is to rewrite the entire history of the series, bringing the real couples together and thus leading to a real closure, not a final season for a new series. Here's Bellarke, Lincoln doesn't die, obviously, Octavia is still our warrior, and our beloved characters have a background story.
ATTENTION: Here there is no Clexa, there is no Becho, thank God, Abby is the disgusting woman we all know, Raven is not on a high horse, Octavia is not a ruthless killer, Clarke is not alone, Echo is still the usual spy, and many more things. If you think all this isn't for you, this isn't your story, if it is, go ahead, I hope you like it!
