it's mildly funny how we got seven seasons of cockroach talk about/from Murphy, who then had to go to hell and back every.single.season to survive
all while we also had Niylah, who simply stayed as low-key as possible for the entirety of the show and did no wild shit whatsoever and still managed to survive (and while it's absolutely irrelevant to the plot, it is kinda funny that these two are siblings irl)
and I mean, Murphy, man, seriously, you really took the hard road to survival for someone who originally wanted to put as little effort into this as possible while sis was living her best life (given the overall circumstances) right next to you

Femslash Friday: Couples That Never Were But Should Have Been Vol. 4
Mother Sappho can sure be cruel.
In the tv series The 100, we have a lady-lovin’ side character with an interesting background who is criminally underdeveloped and killed off too soon.
With the limited time we are graced with her presence, this side character is somewhat reduced to the role of the evasive love interest of a protagonist who spent half of their initial time together grieving her dead boyfriend. A dead boyfriend, mind you, who was gruesomely deaded on the lezzie side character's orders! I mean, Holy Jacob Black, does it get any worse than that?
Yes.
To top it all off, the attempted romance ends cheaply tragically before it even truly kicked off, casting this shadow of shallow placation over the whole tchotchke affair.
*begrudged index finger clap for on-screen same-sex love tho*
And then… *lights cigarette pinched between teeth*
Then there’s the staple character with several seasons’ worth of engaging, divisive, heart wrenching internal and interpersonal development, who is as intolerably sexy as she is strong, caring, and deeply flawed. The sugar, spice, and everything damaged that draws this angst-addicted, lovelorn moth (me, hullo) to the flames of everlasting love.
And this character, of course, is straight. No bi-no buts-no bends straight.
Octavia Blake, played by the magnetic Brunette Goddess Marie Avgeropoulos, is the sapphic sister we deserved but never had a chance in hell of getting.
She was a phantom on The Ark (illegal child hidden under the floor never to be seen or acknowledged by the world in which she lived), turned ace survivor in the new world, turned assassin, turned trauma-plagued warrior queen, and I lived for every gutting second.
She loved Lincoln with such fiery depth that her heart sank into some dark waters when he was torn from her. She never lost it completely (her heart), but trying times, like the increasingly intense circumstances of everyone's survival, didn't help her recover it any faster.
But new love could have. New love with someone worthy of it as a person and deserving of a greater story as a character.
The only thing that would’ve salvaged The 100 as a whole, to my viewing pleasure, was a slowbloom-to-true love romance between Octavia as Blodreina, the tormented Dark Queen of Wonkru, and her Right Hand Healer - the only woman who was still willing and able to see the heart of a tortured hero behind her blood-stained crown.
The potential of a perfectly squeetastic a.k.a. overtly romantic relationship between Octavia and Niylah sat in the room like an elephant in a tutu every time they were on screen together.
We’ve got Protector x Nurturer roles, Seme x Uke dynamics, reasoned heart-wrenching angst, and earned trust. Throw in some hurt/comfort scenarios with a little mortal danger or sexual intimidation directed at Niylah by the enemy, and Octavia losing her shit on the asshole who dared threaten/hurt her lover, and I would’ve given up all my earthly possessions to board this ship.
If Niylah had become Octavia’s second chance at true love in a hopeless place, I would be singing The 100’s praises ‘til the end of time as having one of the best sapphic love stories to grace the small screen. But she didn’t. Because she couldn’t. So, I don’t. But I can dream.

"Canon Clarke (I have theories)" may I ask 👀
Ok hear me out! I'm gonna try and explain this as best I can 😅
I believe that Clarke was extremely vocal in bed. If we look at the facts, Clarke has a big mouth and talks a lot. A lot. Often robustly, generally at inopportune times, and almost always out of turn. Girl just barely gave the tiniest of fucks at any given point in time. She did not shy away from saying exactly what she felt at any given time.
It's literally why we love her 🥺
And going off that you're not gonna tell me that didn't translate to the bedroom. How am I, a virgo lesbian with impeccable taste, meant to believe that that woman wasn't just as demonstrative in bed as she was outside of it? Just as vocal?
If you take into account the fact that after 307 everyone and their goddamn brother seemed to be aware of Clarke and Lexa's relationship, the logical question comes: How did they find out? How did literally everyone suddenly know about them without a doubt, to the point they felt comfortable speaking intimately about Lexa to Clarke? Yes Lexa wasn't subtle about her affections, but Clarke before them sleeping together was still very standoffish in her anger.
So what changed?
My theory: word of mouth.
I absolutely theorize that the guards/occupants of the surrounding tower floors quite literally heard Heda kom Body Glitter and Wanheda blowing each other's backs out, and then immediately started gossiping about it. Given the fact that their public interactions up until that point had been cloaked in so much pomp and ceremony, broken up with these strange, sporadic private moments of Clarke spending hours alone in the silence of Lexa's room as Lexa read and slept, to finally hear the sounds of them going full sapphic pauna on each other would've absolutely been something that any warrior would've gone on break and been like "biiiiiitch do you know what I just heard???" about immediately 🤷♀️
"Well what makes you think it was Clarke who was loud? Clarke was the one who fucked Lexa into a nap 🤨" you may ask.
To which I say: shut up and you're wrong.
Because, again, look at the facts. Lexa's love language was not only acts, but also she liiived for encouraging Clarke. Lexa was always Clarke biggest cheerleader. Her most ardent and vocal supporter. She was always the one stepping up and telling Clarke that she was capable and strong and everything else Clarke needed to hear in moments when she felt vulnerable. Do you honestly believe, after months of pining, when Lexa finally got the chance to make love to the woman who had stolen her heart and then spit in her face, that she wouldn't want to hear every single last sound of Clarke's pleasure? That she didn't encourage Clarke to completely lose herself in the pleasure of it? Do you honestly believe that when she rolled over and kissed Clarke, when she straddled her and made her writhe beneath her, when she licked through her folds and fucked her in her plush bed of furs, that she didn't ask Clarke if it felt good? If she liked this or that? That she didn't quietly beg into Clarke's ear for her to moan for her? Do you honestly believe that Lexa didn't pay attention to every twitch of Clarke's lips and gasp of her breath and use all those signals to make Clarke completely lose control? And that Clarke didn't give Lexa exactly what she wanted to hear? Willingly? Robustly? That she didn't want Lexa to hear exactly how much she made her feel? As far as either of them knew, this may be the only time they got to experience this intimacy together before their people pulled them apart. Do you really believe they didn't do exactly what they wanted to the fullest extent in those few hours they lay hidden from the world???
Clarke may not have been ready to tell Lexa that she loved her because of the anger and betrayal that lingered between them, but you're not going to ever make me believe that when she made love with Lexa she didn't do everything she could to show it
#sassymajesty#clexa#clarke Griffin#i also theorize that lexa was the only lover Clarke ever let herself be loud with#or felt the urge/ pleasure in being so#finn was the awkward rush of first love and sex#Niylah was comfort and solace#but Lexa? Lexa was love and passion#heartbreak and healing#yearning and fulfillment

SHIPS IN THE SPOTLIGHT : clexa edition lexa haunting clarke's narrative
#The 100#Clarke Griffin#Lexa kom Trikru#Clexa#the100edit#in the wake of the immense backlash the series received with Lexa's death#the only form of damage control they could depend on was to make it so Clarke would never fully move on from her#throughout the rest of series#Lexa was frequently referenced by other characters with her iconography becoming important set dressing#and while Clarke could be seen casually sleeping with characters like Niylah and Cillian#she would never be seen in something resembling an emotional commitment

Clarke’s grip was firm on Niylah’s waist as she thrust into her, hard and relentless, each movement drawing out breathless moans from the omega. Niylah’s body rocked with every powerful snap of Clarke’s hips, her face buried in the pillow, knuckles white as she clung to the sheets. Clarke’s pace was almost brutal, her focus entirely on the physical, the slick heat between them driving her closer and closer to the edge.
Niylah whimpered as Clarke’s hand slipped around her waist, fingers brushing against her swollen, sensitive clit. "Clarke...!" she gasped, the sensation too much, sending her body trembling beneath the alpha’s relentless rhythm.
Clarke grunted in response, her breath hot against Niylah’s back as she slammed into her a final time, the tension in her body snapping as she came, hard, her release surging through her. She groaned, her hips jerking once more before going still. For a brief moment, their heavy breathing filled the room, Niylah still shuddering from the aftershocks of her own orgasm.
Without a word, Clarke pulled out and rolled off Niylah, exhaling sharply as she landed on her back, staring at the ceiling. There was no tenderness, just the quiet aftermath of sex. She didn’t seem to care about Niylah’s lingering warmth or the intimacy of the moment. Clarke was already mentally somewhere else.
Niylah turned her head slightly, watching Clarke with a soft look of confusion. “Clarke?” she said, her voice soft but tentative, like she didn’t want to break whatever spell they might’ve shared.
Clarke pushed herself up on her elbows, barely glancing at Niylah before swinging her legs over the side of the bed. “I’ve gotta go,” she said bluntly, running a hand through her messy hair. She was already reaching for her pants, clearly uninterested in lingering.
Niylah’s brow furrowed, disappointment flashing in her eyes. “You’re leaving? Already?”
Clarke snorted as she stood up, slipping on her jeans with a shrug. “Yeah, Niylah. What, you thought I was staying the night?” Her tone was sharp, almost dismissive, like the thought of sticking around hadn’t even crossed her mind.
Niylah pulled the sheet up to cover herself, her hurt now evident. “I just… I thought we could maybe talk? Or… something?”
Clarke let out a short laugh, grabbing her shirt from the floor and yanking it on. “Talk? Niylah, come on. This was just sex. I didn’t sign up for anything more.”
Niylah stared at her, the sting of Clarke’s words settling deep. “I didn’t realize you’d be like this.”
Clarke shrugged, unbothered as she buttoned her shirt. “Yeah, well, that’s the deal. You knew what this was when we started. I didn’t lie about it.” She zipped up her jeans and walked over to the door, her movements quick, like she couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
Niylah sat up fully now, her voice softer, almost pleading. “So, that’s it? You’re just gonna leave?”
Clarke paused at the door, turning to look at her, her expression unreadable. “Look, if you want to fuck again, you call me in a few days.” Her voice was cold, detached, as if the idea of intimacy didn’t interest her in the slightest. “But don’t expect anything more, okay?”
Niylah’s shoulders slumped slightly, the weight of Clarke’s words sinking in. She nodded, though it was clear the answer didn’t satisfy her.
Clarke didn’t wait for a response. She gave Niylah one last, fleeting look, then opened the door and walked out, leaving Niylah alone in the quiet, rumpled bed. The sound of the door clicking shut echoed in the room, the only reminder of Clarke’s presence now gone.

Clarke stands tall at Lexa's side as they declare the mountain defeated and as Lorelei Tsing is given Death by a Thousand Cuts. At first, the ambassadors balk at her black blood, but then Clarke explains the Skaikru serum to them, telling them that it was the only way for her to survive long enough for them to get their vengeance. With Lexa's reassurance that the woman is not a true natblida and her approval of the situation, they accept her explanation.
The announcement of the truce with the remaining mountain dwellers is met with protests of anger and disbelief, but once again, Lexa is able to get things under control. She assures the ambassadors that the Maunon will be kept under close watch by Trikru and also informs them that should any of the Maunon stray from Trikru's territory, they are fair game. This does a great deal for calming the ambassadors.
When Lexa commands her people to help clear out the mountain, Clarke is the one to lead them inside. All surviving Maunon have been told to stay in their dorms until she gives the all clear, so she doesn't worry too much about the possibility of an altercation happening. They sweep each level of the mountain, bringing bodies back to the surface to burn on hastily prepared pyres.
It takes them several hours to clear Mount Weather of the dead. When it's done, Lexa's guards escort the ambassadors out of the mountain and they depart to bring the news home to their people. Clarke takes Lexa to the dorms to meet the surviving Maunon. Anya looks menacing as ever as she walks with them, and Clarke wonders if it's such a good idea to put the other woman in a room full of the people who caused her such torture in another life. She doesn't question Anya’s decision to join them, but she does keep a close eye on the warrior.

I love how domestic dilf!Clarke, Madi, and Lexa are becoming during their family dinners
That line where that empty space was meant to be occupied by Lexa gave me the feels
☺️☺️☺️☺️
For so long Clarke feared finding someone else to love was going to be a betrayal towards Niylah that she pretty much self sabotaged any relationship that could happen. And it was always a Clarke problem but Niylah had made it clear before she passed she wanted Clarke to find someone to love - her only request was that that someone needed to love and respect Madi too. And now herr Lexa is. Someone who loves and respects Madi as well as loves Clarke the same way Niylah did: unconditionally.
They are different people with totally different personalities. They are nothing alike except where it matters. Lexa is not a replacement for Niylah. Clarke doesn't believe in soulmates, but if she did, she'd said she had two. Because both are so important to her. But Niylah is gone and while Lexa is not her replacement, the empty space Niylah left was meant for Lexa to occupy. And Lexa knows it. She is so thankful for Niylah for forming this little family. And by whatever line of faith, allow Lexa to be the one to take care of them from now on. Lexa isn't sat at Niylah's chair. They just added one more chair to the table.
#letter opened#au: dilf!clarke#everytime i think about the connection Lexa feels with Niylah and how thankful she is for her#for what she gave in life and for what she gave Lexa in death#it makes me absolutely emotional:')
