quick personal update -- i've been in chinaaaa for the past few weeks! plus a few days of layover in tokyo, so i got to visit japan for the first time! good experiences good food all around \(^_^)/

now that i'm officially back, i can share some of the soulsilver i've been stockpiling since march..... and since i'm too lazy to make multiple posts, you guys get the full dump. warning! there are a few!

Was engaging in my favorite hobby of Curating Lists (specifically in this case of the states I have visited and the ones I have yet to visit) and was wondering…which state would you all most like to visit that you haven’t been to yet and what city/area/site would you want to go there for?

#my top states I haven’t been to are probably Louisiana South Carolina and maybe West Virginia #oh and Tennessee! I want to go to NOLA and Charleston both for history and food reasons #and then I want to do more outdoorsy trips after I had so much fun in Utah and I need to do more research on that #but lot of beautiful nature in WV #and then in TN you have smoky mountains and Cumberland gap national parks plus Memphis and Nashville #I would also love to go back out west bc the badlands road trip my family did as a kid and my Utah trip were both incredible in terms of #scenery but I think the western states I have NOT been to like Idaho are less appealing than my missing states in other regions

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #symphony of sorcery #scenery #my gif #i originally planned on splitting this set in two and wanted to create separate posts for both sides of this world #but i was surprised that i struggled with that and many of my shots didn't feel distinct enough when i put them all together #dunno how i messed that up so bad since this world has so much going for it #so i had to scrap a good chunk of what i made but i actually think it looks better this way so maybe it's not such a bad thing #sora's side is on the left (except for the last gif) and riku's is on the right #it gives you a better feel for how varied and different these magical realms are #and yeah that's what they're called #anyways i'm so glad this world exists because it's so experimental and different #everything from the visuals to the music and how sora and riku's battle sounds are instead replaced by more music #as if they're composing it themselves #which of course ties into how they must find and collect their sound ideas #it's all so incredible and works perfectly for a game centering around dreams #i hope we can see more unique worlds like it in future games too

#because I just think they're so terribly underrated!#srmthfg #srmthfg!#super robot monkey team hyperforce go!#scenery #background #cartoon #art #looking through these screencaps i just thought how incredibly beautiful they are even if they are not that well detailed #they manage to set the mood for each episode perfectly #like i just noticed how in the last one with them going to the macro-cosmos #the background universe looks like a web; almost like cellular structures #it gives the impression of everything being part of something bigger; of a tissue organ or body #i really like that it's very eery #the colors are also so masterfully utilized #they literally have the skittles squad as main characters and they always find away to integrate their colors into the scenery #idk if it's the nostalgia speaking but the beautiful backgrounds and color palettes in this show really tickled the right spot of my brain #long post #pictures
