Alright, so, yesterday, I recorded every single POV in each chapter in The Lunar Chronicles like a normal person and that's what this blog post is about. decided to read the KH manga bc I ran out of games to watch (I even watched MoM), and two things:

it feels like a CRIME that I am allowed to read what Donald is saying clearly, I am so used to only really understanding 50-70% of what he says, what do you mean I can now understand everything

the fan translators let Donald swear and I think that's the best thing I've ever seen a fan translation do, Donald deserves to swear, as a treat

also this might just be an excuse to drool over more frames from this jaw dropping moment

so the one thing about this that absolutely wallops me is just how quickly rogneto's dance escalates into. well. more than just a dance (you know if i were there i'd be fucking hooting and hollering until my lungs burst. GET YOUR OLD MAN GIRL.)

LIKE. it starts off soooo polite. magneto's hand is at rogue's waist. they're ballroom dancing, with the hands in the usual positions. VERY RESPECTFUL. they even do a lil spin!

for real though I'm kind in love with?? how rogue seems to take the lead in this entire sequence?? she's the one that invites magneto to dance. she offers her hand to him first (much in the same way that happens in episode 2). he follows her as they rise further into the air and acts every bit the gentleman until she encourages him to take it further. and then of course when he sees the green light the shirt buttons come undone, he's pulling out allllllllllllll the moves he's probably thought about for years now.

anyways. I'm so normal over this scene. thank you x-men '97 for blessing me with a new fave comfort ship and media.

why do people think Yevgeny wasn't Mickey's son? in 3x06 there was clearly no condom used (not that Terry probably would have let Svetlana stop to get one), but there's no reason to think she wasn't using condoms with her regular clients. it's not Svetlana's fault that she was a tool used to rape Mickey—the sole blame for everything that happens in that entire situation belongs to Terry Milkovich and him alone—so why does it feel like it's just another way for people to shit on Svetlana for something that wasn't in her control? it's not as though she'd asked to get pregnant in the first place...

anyways, still deeply invested into my read of Ganondorf being an immense bully to children partially because, in a way, he rationalizes that putting children through the grinder is baaaasically kind of helping them to grow up faster, in a throwing you into the river to teach you how to swim kind of way, and if they can't handle the grinder, they were weak and it's on them and they can either suck it up and try harder, or get wrecked and die

and obviously that says absolutely nothing about how his own upbringing may have been handled, right twinrova, nor anything about how he may have buried a profound bitterness about the fact he was never really allowed a childhood of his own, and it's not fair others, especially hylians, get to spend their own carefree.

some reminders that i think this site could use:

-it is still not ok to be racist

-it is still not ok to be antisemitic

-not even if you really dislike someone

-not even if you really dislike their spouse

-bigotry is not bad because it's targeting the wrong people, it's bad no matter who it's targeting

-hating someone for something outside their control is still bad

-sweeping generalizations of large groups of people will inevitably include smaller marginalized groups within that larger group and if you forget about this they will accuse you of bigotry towards them and you will deserve it

-the above does not separate those marginalized peoples fully from the larger group, nor does it make bigotry towards them acceptable

and also

-someone having a different opinion from you does not make them automatically a bot or a psyop. it makes them a person who has a different opinion than you

-fallacies, propaganda techniques, and means of spreading mis/disinformation are not just things to watch out for from those you view as opposition, but also things to keep an eye out for concerning your perceived allies and yourself

-sometimes people just don't know things or know incorrect things. this is not a statement of their moral inferiority. not everyone is actively out to do harm, some people just have questions or are wrong about things
