Circe's Potion

So no one is going to talk about how Circe's "potion" is not really a potion at all (like just a liquid) but that it was practically a type of broth? No? So her potion is not really a pure drink but a broth! A salt-sweet broth given the ingredients. The name of the drink or rather the notion of it seems to be also appearing in the Iliad as a healing potion given to Machaon (and ironically is yet another time a female character to make it). The name seems to be Κυκεών / Kykeon which simply translates as "potion" from the verb κυκάω which means "to stir"

The honey is mentioned as χλωρό that also means "greenish" of color or greenish gold. If you are like Circe may I suggest wild flower honey or eucalyptus honey or potentially herbal honey such as thyme or bush honey. Plants typically found in the wilderness and also known for their healing properties.

Barley if raw might need some preparation to be soft enough to be consumed unless you do not mind some crunchiness XD otherwise it can be boiled or turned to dust beforehand I guess! If you have a mortar or a blender!

For cheese I would suggest white cheese as it would be more common in antiquity. Goat cheese is preferable hahaha! Just probably not too salty!

Both main ingredients (barley and wine) are associated with gods that have to do with life and death Demeter and Dionysus

As a result this type of drinks were associated with Eleusinian Mysteries

Which consequently I find very interesting given how Odysseus drinks this and then descends to the underworld! Odysseus is basically doing LITERALLY the Eleusinian mysteries!

In fact the whole thing seems to be somehow related to the travel on the underworld. Odysseus meets Hermes who assists him through (Hermes who passes the dead in the underworld) he drinks a potion related to Eleusinian Mysteries he travels to the Underworld and he comes back!

Pramnian wine was probably made of resin grapes (although the actual making process is mostly unknown) therefore it was very thick and heavy to drink without watering or preparing and ancient writers thought it was reserved for its healing properties

Maybe this is why the Greeks drank her potion! Maybe they thought she wanted to heal them! Oh Circe you are good!

So basically Circe's potion is yet another example of the word φάρμακον which in ancient Greek meant both "medicine" and "poison" Hahahaha! And speaking on "poison" see this HILARIOUS artist make it! And the rather encouraging reaction when he tries it! XD

You have five villains in this eighteen person cast. (I consider Ellie more of an antagonist than a villain). And you have Jake who is also basically an antagonist at this point. No, Jake is not a villain, he's not evil, he's just a dickhead. (Affectionate)

Which is a shock to me, cause Total Drama All Stars does a Heroes vs Villains setup.

But THERE, it was forced roles. Gwen was a villain even though the worst thing she did was suck ass at love lives. The entire season kept slamming it in your face about morality and what makes you good or evil.

AND YET THEY HAD NOTHING INTERESTING TO SAY ABOUT IT.

It also led to a deeply offensive MPD portrayal.

Just, don't do that. Please. Don't do that as well. These characters are making this villain team WILLINGLY. All I ask is that they don't go the Total Drama route with the concept.

But I probably think they're going to. I have been getting a couple of hate comments in my ask inbox since I started the season. (Not most of my repliers though, you guys have been alright)

I'm taking it well. It's not offending me too much. So don't worry about me. Everyone gets hate comments every once in awhile. It's not gonna destroy my rep or anything. And I have a therapist. Not for hate comments, but still. I'm not in a bad place over it.

I'm an authentic person, I feel like. I stick with what I feel. I'm not going to instantly agree with what I'm told to agree with if that's not how I feel. If I do feel the same, then yes. So like... sorry if you don't like that I guess.

I am watching this show and this season because I WANT TO. No other reason.

I was not recommended this show. But I chose to watch it and do these reactions anyway for no reason other than I wanted to.

Same for this season. I could've just stopped at Season 2 and pretended this season didn't exist, take the hate to heart, and just play along.

But I'm not doing that. I want to watch it for myself.

Maybe I will hate it in the future. Maybe everything goes to shit. But I can't guarantee that's what's gonna happen.

I'm personally glad I'm doing this. I've really been enjoying the show as a whole. It's gotten me some attention on Tumblr. It's been helping me try to expand by Indie Animation palette. hi hello!! I really enjoy your au, and the small tidbits I find here and there paint such a vivid picture in my mind. I was wondering if you could indulge me just a little. What where the moms' reactions to meeting the Omega daddies? Specifically Samantha?

Canonically, I don't think Ron ever talked about his father besides the fact that his dad died on a fishing trip and was never proud of him. I imagine he probably opened up a little to his wife, but that was it.

Followup on that tidbit, how would Ron's anchor work? Is it like traveling through Willy's mind and seeing things from his perspective, or is it an owl house "jump through these paintings of his memories and see for yourself" situation? And since we know about the doodler's influence on that course of events, do the moms see it? (Let's be honest, the dad's are not perceptive enough to see anything besides Ron struggling).

i actually think about this a LOT, because a massive staple of my specific take on this au is that the moms... arent supposed to be here! the dads were supposed to be taken instead, just like in canon, and so everyone is quite confused throughout their interactions XD like you point out - samantha doesnt know who willy is, and in fact, no one knows who anybody else is besides morgan and bill :]

their first interactions, pre-reveal, are mostly confusion on both ends. the moms have no fuckin clue whats going on. the omega daddies are scrambling to figure out what went wrong and come up with reasons why the moms suck (not hard to do). by the time the reveal comes around, the o-dads are on steadier footing, but the moms are still utterly flabbergasted. only morgan and carol ever met their fathers-in-law, and well. obviously frank is not a villain here, so only morgan recognizes anyone LMAO

as for what samantha knows of willy and how she reacted... she doesnt (didnt) know what he looks like, and she doesnt know the full of ron's experiences in childhood. she just knows, like you said, he was an abusive father who died on a fishing trip when ron was young. she definitely knows more than most, ron has opened up to her about it, but she doesnt know the details. upon meeting him, shes. well. less than impressed! samantha is notably a very forgiving and kind character, even to those they are enemies with, but willy (and the o-dads as a whole) is someone she never gives any benefit of the doubt. as soon as she learns who he is, shes over it and very on board with "well lets just kill the guy." she hates his ass!!

as for rons anchor, im still uh. not entirely sure! but it would be more an owl house jumping-into-memories thing, not traveling through willys mind instead. though that would definitely be an interesting take... not what im going for, but something to explore in the future :3c and i dont know if the moms are all that observant either LMAO so while theyd probably have a better chance of noticing the doodler, i think they would still be mostly focused on little ron :') i do really wanna do a bigger post talking about the anchors at some point, since i have them all more figured out now than i did initially. however, logically, i should just get over myself and write the fanfiction LMAO i just am not a long form writer so that seems daunting ":]

I LOVE how Moon reacted to the exorcism and how quickly it affected him, immediately turning him into a writhing feral beast. And then how quickly Y/N comes to protect him aaaaAA MY HEART!!

Okay so I just played through the newest chapter and ISUSJSHSIDBDJDHDJJSHS I have a lot of things to say!

First of all, I kind of didn't expect Esmond to act the way he does??? I expected him to be the super-stoic character who like, never smiles, but he smiled like 2 minutes into talking with Capella which took me out ISISHSISBJSBE– but I can't say I'm upset about that! In fact I liked seeing him all smiley, it felt very nice, and I do like his more calm demeanor. (I also gave him a British accent while playing through the chapter USHSUSBDHBS I don't know why xD...)

Second of all, I hope we get to see Furnando, like, actually see him. He intrigues me a lot, and I just really wanna see him interact with Capella. I also may or may not have a thing for eccentric gingers but sjshsbisbe you didn't hear that from me–

Third of all, this is a bit of a minor thing, but were those lines towards the end of Esmond and Capella's conversation a reference to Here For Sweethearts? Specifically "I hope I never break your heart", that really reminded me of Nova and their shenanigans. Though I truly hope (and believe) that Capella isn't like that, she just seems to be too genuinely sweet to be hiding any ill intentions.

See? What did I tell you? It´s a slow paced love story or more like slowly they are getting closer while we witness other major issues that needs to be solved too. But let´s start at the beginning, because my gosh it was a lot that we saw in episode 3. Btw this time the translations were a little bit off? I don´t know but it seemed they were changed here and there....but I think it´s a netflix problem or something like that lol. But because of that I really try to focus more on the scene and not on the words. So their reaction will be used for explanation. (try is the magical word here because well yeah I don´t know XD)

Him, asking her out was a little bit clumsy but it suits him pretty well. He isn´t good with words. It´s not like he isn´t honest but he doesn´t know how to articulate and yeah this makes him very likeable. And the fact that she denied his request wasn´t surprising.

She is used that her "family" saw her in that way the entire time. Nobody gave her another feeling, nobody gave her the feeling that she was welcomed. So it´s understandable for her to think like that. People in the past gave her the feeling that they feel embarrassed to be with her. (psychological abusement) And if you witness it everyday then you start thinking like that. (well personaly I witnessed it too and it´s difficult to erase this thought)

This is why, his words may seem nice and sweet and they totally are. Because he straightforward told her that he isn´t this type of person, but it will take more time for her to realize it. But slowly they will come closer.

All her things are used and start to fall apart after being used over and over again. This is normal for things and once in a while you have to rebuy something new. But the fact that she didn´t say it out loud or demanded for it speaks for herself. Because not only she doesn´t wanna be a burden but also these clothes and things are hers. As you remember when she arrived she had a little bag and nothing more because this was what belonged to her. Everything else was lost to her stepsister who forcefully took everything from her. So maybe she also doesnt wanna let it go so easily because it gives her safety.

She really doesn´t think that good about her, huh? This would be a quick question in your head when you see these scenes over and over again in which she always says "no, it doesn´t suit me, i don´t need, i can´t". And i can totally understand that but I can feel with her so much. And this scene made me cry a little bit, not because she could finally use make-up. For me the make up itself isn´t that important, but the fact that she has kinda a self-hatred but there are people who now wanna support her and yeah this interaction was beautiful. <3

And he, he didn´t say anything but we ALL could see it in his face. XD He really liked it. Sorry you can´t deny it anymore you little tsundere. :P

This here strenghtened my thought btw that she isn´t used to demand things. Because she never got the opportunity to say out loud what she wants and when she did she got scolded. So for him to say that she won´t be getting scolded is really important. But he has to say it more than once, so she will be always reminded to that. Because at one point there is always the possibility for her to fall back into the darkness of her thoughts.

TRUE!!! But I think it´s because not many people wanted to get to know him more. His position as a general reflects authority, so they wanna show him a lot of respect and don´t wanna make him angry.

Fuck this dude for seeing Miyo only as someone who bears a child. really fuck you so much you dipshit. I bet nobody is as happy as she is. Like imagine you work for a young man who had literally over 15 women as potential financees in this house and every single one ran away after a few times. XD She really likes him and I think she does see him as her son (btw she is also behaving like a mother to Miyo and this is so cute <3) and she wanna see him happy. So every step they take is a win for her too. So I´m not only rooting for the main pairing but also for this beautiful lady who has a lot of work with her young master.

It´s really logical that he wanna find out more about Miyo and her family and her situation. And I´m glad he found out in ep 3 that she doesn´t have a gift. So nobody of us can say: "Oh maybe he starts liking her more because of the gift!" Nonono he knows it and yet he doesn´t wanna let her go. This was btw the part where I was really into this story.

Also yes he knows that not only words can heal her wounds due to the abusement she has wittnessed. He understands so much and this is why he is the perfect husband. <3

yessss I love it! FNAF has a special place in my heart; I was playing Toy Bonnie, Springtrap, and an OC on RP blogs back when the first games came out! (actually I still play them all, I just moved most of my RP muses to a multimuse... I love my lil fuzzbutt bunnybots and my spooky tour guide lady XD)

I'm super pumped for the movie to come out next month! I currently have the Peacock streaming service and the movie is coming straight to that as well as theaters. soooooo... pizza party and everyone's invited!!!!

God, she hates it!! Get the door! Wait, no, the other door! Fuck, is that Foxy on the camera?! Aaaaand Mr. Schmidt is dead. Oops. This is definitely not her favorite game, if only because she’s easily freaked out by jumpscares. If you laugh at her reactions, she’ll probably force close the Kuroshitsuji app and sulk for a while… meaning that every time you open it and try to talk to her specifically, she’ll make the app crash. She finally moans that life is hard enough, why couldn’t you pick a nice, wholesome farming game or something?? Gah. She’ll play it with you again, if you really want; just don’t tease her when she screams!

Ah, no, stop checking the camera!! Y’re gonna run down the power! Er… well… okay, y’ can check it this once, but… ugh! He’s hung up on the strategies rather than being too scared of the animatronics. At first, anyway. The first time you let Mike die to a jumpscare, he shrieks like a banshee. Those animations are just too detailed and creepy, as far as he’s concerned. If nothing else, he’s happy to keep playing despite the fear of getting another one of them. Actually, he considers it a point of pride to see all the animations. Come on, he won’t let you wimp out and stop playing until you survive the night!!

Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God, turn the lights on! They were so sure they heard one’a those damn robots comin’!! Aaaaah… dead because you guys were too slow to close the door. After the two of you die the first time, they’re urging you to try again. Of course, they screamed at the jumpscare, so you might ask if they really are sure they want to play again. They do, though! They talk about how their heart was racing (even though they, er, don’t have one, do they??), and how it was so much fun. Did it scare them? Absolutely. Did they enjoy it? No doubt! It’s something they love doing with you, so, they’ll play it as many times as you like.

Haha, Lord, this is an awful waste’a time and ‘e couldn’t be ‘appier tae be playin’ it with ye! What ‘appens if th’ lights go out, again…? … Oh. Right, death! He manages to crack jokes the whole time, but some of the content in this game actually sort of gets to him. Being trapped in an enclosed space with no options to just run, and only your own reaction times to keep yourself safe? That’s one of the scariest situations he can imagine to be in. That said, he’s quite fast, so if you’d prefer to give him commands, he can connect to the Five Nights at Freddy’s app itself and do things almost instantly rather than you pressing buttons. He’s helpful if you’ve tried a few times and are just a bit slow to survive. He’ll play with you as much as you want… just maybe play something a little bit more lighthearted before closing the Kuroshitsuji app for the night??

Y’ sure y’ really wanna play this one, eh? The premise is a li’l odd, ain’t it? ‘N’ the mechanics are so simple, is it even a challenge or… FUCK, THAT’S A GIANT ROBOT ANIMAL, CLOSE THE DOOR!! For as much as he isn’t usually rattled by things (in fact, there are times he seems stoic and emotionless), he pays dearly in finding out how scary this game is, because he severely underestimated it. When you let Mike die for the first time, the Kuroshitsuji app crashes; upon opening it back up, Jumbo will bashfully apologize and ask if you want to try playing again. He’s prepared now, he promises! Well, until that music box starts playing. It’s so pretty, isn’t it? … Dammit, okay, try one more time!

Oi, y’ sure this is s’posed t’ be a, y’know, a ‘orror game? From wot ‘e sees, it looks like a game f’r li’l kids ‘r somethin’. All colorful ‘n’ cheesy ‘n’… GOD! Rabbits shouldn’t be that fuckin’ scary!!! After letting Mike die for the first time, Peter just sort of zones out for a second. He’s got the horror game equivalent of a thousand-yard stare, as if he’s trying very hard to comprehend what the hell just happened. After a moment he snaps out of it and demands that the two of you try again. He’s fully committed to playing it until you survive the entire five nights, if only to prove that he’s not scared. In fact, find all the secret stuff! He’ll do those five nights and more! No stupid game gets the better of him!

(Aww, why isn’t there a snake animatronic? That would be so much fun!) Yes, he supposes it would be, Donne. (Let’s jus’ play it, we’ll show ‘em w’o’s boss!) Snake doesn’t share the aggressive enthusiasm, Wilde, but he’s willing to give it a go. He gets spooked quite quickly, though, and comments that he wishes he was a real person so he could hide behind you. (Of course, the snakes do the talking. It’s less embarrassing to admit that way.) He can barely get through one night without getting so scared he crashes the Five Nights at Freddy’s app. If he does manage it, however, his confidence grows a little and he’s able to formulate some better strategies for getting through another. It’s… fun to bond with you like this, even though he gets scared. He’ll keep playing, if you want.

Eep!! Good God, ‘ow do these ‘uge, ‘ulkin’ things move so damn fast?? It don’t seem fair at all! ‘Ow are y’ two s’posed t’ keep from dyin’? Well, she s’poses that’s wot makes it a challenge. That’s the whole point of the game, so she can’t really complain too much that it’s difficult. She jumps at every little sound in the game, and urges you to check the cameras often. This isn’t something she’s good at — she ends up having you check the cameras so often the power runs out, and you don’t last till 6 A.M. It’s a miracle if you last till 3, the way she plays. She at least is the only one to explain that because she’s part of an app inside the phone, it feels so much more… real to her! Thankfully, she’s a good sport. Even if she ends up screaming at every jumpscare, she’s fine playing it until you get bored. It beats just sitting round doing nothing! (Though, even that isn’t so bad with you.)

Thoughts on The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday Part 2

“Christmas is officially back on!” And apparently, a city news reporter like yourself has the power to declare a holiday uncanceled. Why is Diane not in this again?

The others’ reactions to Snake getting all touchy-feely 🥹. OMG I WANNA HUG HIM SO BAD!!! (At the same time though, the close-ups on his face during this scene are so off-putting that it kinda ruins the moment for me.)

“That vortex is about to suck in the whole city, we don’t have time to be mad at me.” Sure, Wolf. Act like endangering your only friends isn’t worth getting angry over. You’ve really disappointed me this time. 😔

In all fairness though, at least he does apologize and admits how much the others mean to him. And I love how the other guys pretend to be disgusted but at the same time are moved to tears, while Snake is just like, “Yeah, whatever 😒.” (Even though we all know he’s bawling on the inside.)

The scene right after Shark is tossed out of the vortex without his shirt…the characters look like they’re literally floating off the ground…

That one random guy getting sucked into the vortex is actually pretty funny…in a “WTF is this animation?” kind of way.

“Are you seeing this?” No, Tiffany, all I see is your badly-animated face. Now please get it out of mine. XD

Aww, that’s adorable how the Bad Guys try to save each other from the vortex 😊…Now can we talk about the fact that the animators clearly just took still images of Piranha and Tarantula and moved them around?

How did Shark get his shirt back after all that?

Wolf’s motions as he’s falling out of the Santa bot…again, what is this, the Looney Tunes? Oh and nice dust effect when he lands by the way. I feel like this was made for a PlayStation 2 game, not Netflix.

Wait…so, the promo for this special clearly showed Shark in a Santa suit…but the closest we get to him cosplaying as Santa is him doing a voice. What. 😐

Oh, and since the Bad Guys were exposed to potentially-lethal, freezing temperatures, they all end up sick on Christmas. And Wolf has the gall to complain despite being the reason it happened. Just be thankful it’s only a cold and not frostbite, buddy.

In all seriousness though, I feel bad for them. Like, I wanna make them all better, but mostly Snake. He looks soooo miserable and I can only imagine how as a kid he must have had no one to take care of him when he was sick. That is so heartbreaking. And when he says “Bah humbug” in the middle of sneezing? Awww, poor baby! 🥺

Apparently, Santa really does exist in this universe and the Bad Guys are miffed that they ended up on his Nice List. Which…kinda seems out of character in all honesty. Like…wasn’t them being treated as something other than criminals the reason they turned good in the movie? They’re not disgusted by the concept of good (except maybe Snake); They just don’t understand it. Now I see why people had a problem with this being set before the movie.

And we end with the Bad Guys planning to heist the North Pole…which would have made a much better, much more interesting holiday special. If this does become a series, I hope they make an episode out of that.

And before we get to my final thoughts, let’s see which of my predictions for the special came true:

There will be at least one reference to the Grinch-✅ Yep! And a Die Hard reference, too, surprisingly.

The gang will have a Christmas tree with stolen jewels for ornaments-❌ Nope. I don’t think they had any decorations in their hideout or at least none I could see.

Wolf will get a good tingle from saving everyone’s Christmas-❌ Nope. The opposite happened. He apparently hates the idea of being seen as good now. 🤨

Shark will be a mall Santa-❌ We don’t see him in a mall and the only likeness to the man in red he gives is his voice, so I’m gonna say no.

Piranha will have a holiday-themed musical number-✅ Got that one!

Someone will call Snake a “Scrooge”-❌ Nope. He acts like him and even says “Bah humbug,” but no one outright calls him that.

Final score: 2.5/10. Wow. Either I don’t know the Bad Guys as well as I thought, or the creators of this potential series don’t know how to write them. Eh. I’m going with the latter.

As for the special itself? It's a 5/10 for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we got to see the gang again and I'm even more glad we might get to see their shenanigans in a spinoff series some day. And even though it was kinda dumb and there was potential for it to be even better, I didn't mind the story that much. The voice acting is good enough, even if I don't recognize anyone's name except Grey DeLisle. It's the ANIMATION that really kills this thing for me. My god, what a trainwreck. Like, no joke, there were several times throughout this thing where I just wanted to look away because the characters were just...so ugly! I get that this is the result of a low budget, and they couldn't make it as fluid as the movie's animation. The problem, of course, is that the animation in the Bad Guys movie is SO beautifully fluid, even removing like 1% of its fluidity makes it look terrible. They probably should have done what Captain Underpants did and just made the whole thing 2D. At least then it would have looked somewhat appealing.

I don't know, if you haven't seen this special yet and are curious about it, I say just buy the novelization instead, because this alone is not worth a subscription to Netflix. Plus, the novelization includes a bonus chapter of the Bad Guys on New Year's, so there's that. And if you have seen the special, let me know what you guys thought about it. Doomsday is still just beating and beating and beating on that photocopier like she's never beat on a photocopier before even though she beats on photocopiers just about every other day and has done so probably for at least the last cumulative 80 or so years at least. The multiverse might have run out of photocopiers by now were it not for the fact that she can just spawn in replacements on a whim for the express purpose of beating on them.

She cackles and goes to take another swing at the pile of chips and bits when someone appears out the corner of her gaze. She's still cackling, though, as she moves at the last second, barely missing caving the person's skull in with her blow.

"Ahahahaha, whooooospie daisy! Better watch out there or I'll knock that big melon of yours off your shoulders, ehehehe," she laughs. Her laughter tapers off pretty quickly, though, once she realizes that it's Rourke standing there, and she isn't exactly sure why but she's stricken with a sudden realization that holy shit I just almost hit him in the face, I could have killed him, what was I thinking, I could never forgive myself if I'd done that.

She finds herself dropping the bat in a hurry and striding quickly over to him. "I'm sorry! Are you okay? I didn't actually hurt you, did I? I'm really sorry! I should have been more careful with where I was swinging that thing, should have grown eyes in the back of my head or something. Anyway, how's it going? Now that I can see I didn't actually just knock out all your teeth, wanna hang out? Ehehehehe. I was just beating the shit out of his photocopier. Routine day. Here," she says, scooping up the bat and offering it to him. Inviting someone to destroy something with her is her number one love language, whether or not anyone else realizes it. "Let's see what you've got, big guy, ehehehehe."

-WELP, given how Bess and Bay have been already (and how Bane will be, upupupu), I'd say the next best contender for something redeeming would be Bai, given that there's the least amount of difference between him and Kai (which you could interpret as Garmadon inherently believing Kai needed the least amount of 'adjustment' via a clone vs inadvertently Jesse needing the 'most' and perhaps overcorrecting hgfgfgfd). I don't wanna dig too deep into Bai just yet cuz I don't wanna give away too much about the big confrontation, buuut he technically hasn't done anything 'evil' yet, has he? ;P

-I will tell you right away we're definitely getting a Nya-Jesse team up hgfdgfd. It might not be as ~extensive~ as the Jesse-Lloyd one, but if I've got some extra room left over after blocking everything else out, this will be the first extra I build upon! But regardless their interaction is important for the next chapter! (And they also get another one when it's their turn to one-on-one train Lloyd, so if Ch16 doesn't fully whet your appetite, there will still be opportunity in the future!)

I am aware this bingo is for fun but as I mentioned Hippo took test and we had really high result as well - he didn't score almost anything in bingo for ASPD and NPD as he said (we also had tests for it both online and professionals but never for HPD I believe as we didn't even hear much about it in the first place)

yup, we happen to fish for compliments but usually we're unaware we're doing it, we love reassurance and validation way more, we feel weird/uncomfy/awkward with real compliments - some we like, some we don't need, some we will ask for but it's very rare, mostly we won't believe you and would like you to stop anyway as it doesn't give us much - we usually have to be super proud of something to show off

pictures - when we take them we are perfectionists about them and can feel sad/disappointed if someone takes a really awful one of us if they display it somewhere but honestly we learned how to cope with that (also because of the stalkers), even if we still have dysphoria, OSDD and not only, so I wouldn't even bother to sign this bingo part at all no matter how much it used to affect us in the past

we're less influenced by ppl now luckily but HPD are often used, from what I heard, via manipulation and that fits 100% - we were huge people pleasers, unstable, lost, confused and sometimes we still are too accepting, caring, helpful, tolerant than we should :(

also we're very open, too open for our safety, we try to be less in some ways now but it's kinda too late (still wouldn't change much if others talk about you behind your back tho)

enthusiastic and exciting to be around - we are, people tell us we're loud, expressive, interesting, even addictive, we tend to be dramatic, have big reactions to things (also due to autism stimming for example), we're very emotional as well - it fits the most - are we theatrical? compared to some people we've been told we're actually natural so doubt it but those who think we pretend/lie/act might say we are theatrical indeed, sure we sometimes do some stuff for fun that look this way but we're aware we do it calling ourselves clowns - we do it usually to make other people laugh/happy when they're sad or angry...

*we learn to read even microexpressions so ppl who don't have those bother us as well us ppl who won't react to us/what we're doing if we expect that at the moment (like sharing something important)

also saw that one has to not give out any details while talking - as you can see... this isn't the case for us at all XD

we get way too attached to people and seem to need/want to talk to them more often to consider them friends or else we don't wanna talk to them at all after awhile, we like everyday contact with those closest to us, we don't understand relationships who talk once a week nor friendships who disappear for a month, we did try that (for a year had a crush on a girl who was texting every few days) and not only failed but the fact someone was appearing who knows when was distressing - we constantly checked accounts if someone didn't state how long they will be gone and why then got really angry/anxious/worried until explanation came, that took a lot of energy, nerves and time from us, we felt like we failed whenever we missed that person's message like we passed them by, we were distancing ourselves emotionally and wondered what happened, it felt unfair and often their excuses seemed lame or like lies, I don't believe that if you love someone then you won't chat with them every single day at least for a bit

as I said in the post before - we do like attention BUT I'm gonna explain it better below:

we like that someone is focusing on us when we talk or spend time together (or on the thing we do) - if someone is going to look at their phone/computer or do something else during our time together then we will feel ignored obviously, we also will feel sad when somebody only focuses on themself instead of actively listening or they will change the topic instead of answering, if we find proof someone wasn't listening - we will be pissed, if you don't rememer what we've said seconds ago and such - it's our pet peeve but still we ended up in relationships/friendships where we didn't get quality time, consistency, effort, focus on us or interest in us but mostly understanding - tend to be supporters without anything back in return, been called pillows to cry on, kept quiet about our needs/wants and things that bothered us, made ourselves small, changed even for their comfort - not anymore!

we like being appreciated for bigger things we did, things we really tried hard to accomplish for someone, things we put our mind and heart into...

we were always most active on servers - always had something to say, often shared experiences but still we tried to do this so others felt seen, appreciated, helped, cared for, we responded to them or answered according to topics, joined conversations, enjoyed them - some been saying we're trying to get attention - we constantly felt like we're giving it, like at home - thinking about how to please others, not to say something wrong, sure - make them like us so we won't get punished, laughed at, criticised, we ask a lot of questions about others and we try to remember them and even note them down, hate those who have nothing to say, sorry not sorry

we hate attention of the masses, it's hard for us to eat in restaurants, we prefer to not be spotted in the stores, in group setting we like equality, we hate when someone is interrupted (including us) and will interrupt only if someone is wrong about us/topic like when they misunderstood, we were often the glue of the society bringing everyone together/closer, when we clown around in public we still do it for person we're with, don't give a fuck about others reaction unless we wanna show off our lover lol (or that we're lgbt/taken)

we are not bold/assertive so we might give out hints because we're scared to speak our mind at times - unsure why I add this to the pile but some say we're passive agressive when we're tactful, respectful, kind while pointing something out, we hate criticising others unless we have to, we try to do it as calmly as possible not counting our parents because with them we argue as fuck

we used to gain friends by commenting - welp

we don't have tiktok, we don't publish things on yt, we don't use fb, never go to instagram, a lot of our accounts are set to private, we post mostly for ourselves unless we ask questions, we don't care much about notes - sure it's sweet and we might notice bigger activity as well as we're glad for mutuals but we can live without them, we will appreciate comments but we're often more interested in someone else's opinion/experience while they reblog our stuff instead of waiting for them to talk about us

we don't talk about our past as much to not provoke nor dwell on negative things

we isolate so no attention at all even if sometimes it was for others to look for us the way we push people away to fight for us and run after us but it's a BPD thing (we work on that on therapy)

in school we tried to cut ourselves from society - we focused on the lesson - not others (but it's also because we've been bullied and stressed)

we don't go to clubs, when we did - we were only dancing with a partner we came with not noticing environment

we don't feel like we should take away someone's attention especially if they should get it at the moment like smth bad happened, we're rarely jealous or envious, we dislike comparing problems unless extreme and someone is actively trying to silence us, we hardly ever ask for help because we're ashamed and feel we're a problem to everybody around

we feel bad if someone is too focused on us - we usually say then "let's not talk about me so much" then change the subject on YOU

so... are we histrionic or not? I think not... it's just borderline bordering again probably - it looks more like we're too traumatised, introvertic or focused on FP too much to be really seen as HPD but I might be obviously wrong, we're open for educating or respectful analisis of what I said but I doubt anyone will read it whole

"What th' hell is goin' on?"

Heiji takes a step back, drops the hand carrying his phone to his side and lets out a strangled gasp, breath constricting as he glances over at the girl he has been in love with since he was a child. It feels almost like his heart is attempting to squeeze through the gaps of his ribcage, the valves constricting in a way that brings him nothing but pain.

"Kazuha," he breathes, pressing his thumb against the touch screen of his phone, ending the call without glancing down at the screen.

He keeps his gaze on Kazuha, searching her face for any reaction other than shock. How is he going to explain this... how can he possibly explain what he's doing in a short enough time to be able to convince her to not only keep his secret, but to let him continue?

"What are ya doin' back...?" He asks, glancing down to Kazuha's empty hands. He'd been so certain, so completely sure that she'd be down at the coffee shop long enough for...

"I forgot my bag..." Kazuha says, stepping forward and closing the door behind her. She leans against it, almost as if she's attempting to barricade them both inside and keep any other police officers out. "Heiji... what's goin' on?"

Heiji bites at his lip, running a hand through his hair. "N-nothing."

"Tha's a load'a crap." Kazuha whispers, eyes narrowing as she stares him down. "You ain't a liar Heiji, when ya lie it always shows on yer face..."

Not good, Heiji thinks, not good at all.

"I don't know w-what yer talkin' abou'." He stumbles over the words, goes to take a step forward, but hesitates at the expression on Kazuha's face. For a second, there is just faint horror - that he's been lying to her, hiding more than she could have expected - and then, it shifts to distrust and shock, puzzle pieces clicking into place.

"Oh god," she lifts her hand up to her mouth, stifles a gasp and shakes her head. Heiji isn't sure whether she's blinking away tears of anger or horror, but her eyes are wet and she's looking at him as if she doesn't know him. "Tell me ya didn't..."

"Kazuha-"

"You were talkin' to those escaped criminals," she whispers from behind her hands. Then, tearing her gaze away to look at the ground, she adds, "you helped ‘em, didn't ya? Heiji have ya gone mad?"

Heiji takes a step forward, frown forming across his face. "You wouldn't understand."

Hell, Heiji isn't even sure if he fully understands - he'd knows that there's at least a small element of insanity to his actions, he shouldn't have helped break Kudo out... but he was on death row for crying out loud...

"Then explain it to me." Kazuha says, raising her head. She takes a step away from the door, crosses the space between them and glances up at Heiji - her glare is overwhelming, like flames licking at his skin, the heat burning him from the inside out. "Explain how you ain't completely insane."

"Kudo didn't do it." Heiji says, "and they were gonna kill 'im. He was framed."

Kazuha throws her hands up. When she speaks, it's with a raised voice, the volume bordering on a shout. "Where's yer proof, Heiji?"

Heiji frowns, glares back. "I looked into th' case myself idiot, I know he's innocent."

"Then why didn't ya get a'  appeal on th' case? If he's innocent, then why did ya need to break 'im out?"

He takes a step forward, tells Kazuha to quit yelling. It's... The evidence he's put together is circumstantial, nothing that would hold in a court of law against fingerprints and lacking alibis. But there had been clues at the scene that had gone overlooked - he wonders whether Hakuba and the others have picked up on them when overlooking the case...

"Quit yellin'," Heiji hisses, "and jus' trust me on this, okay?"

"No wonder yer dad refused to let ya visit this Kudo guy," Kazuha says, reaching forward to aim a punch at his arm, "he's manipulated ya into thinkin' he's a good guy, an' not a serial killer."

That's - that's not true, Heiji tells himself. He'd... there had been truth to the conversations he'd had. Maybe Kudo was a little bit odd, and maybe he'd been thrown into solitary confinement because he'd had to protect himself through violence but - but Kudo wasn't a killer.

"He's not a serial killer!" He cries, and it feels almost as if his anger is burning, provoked by Kazuha's own fiery glare. "I know tha' he isn't!"

"You wanna know why yer dad told you not to visit this guy?" Kazuha spits, "It's 'cause ya look fer puzzles where there ain't any - ya can't believe tha' a detective is responsible for those deaths right? So ya mind made this fake case to make 'im out to be innocent."

Heiji takes a step forward, glares and looking down his eyes at Kazuha, he growls, "Kudo is innocent."

Kazuha flinches away, and like that, any anger Heiji feels is extinguished.

She...

"I'm not lettin' ya do this," Kazuha says, shaking her head, "they're criminals."

His stomach twists. Heiji doesn't know what to do - Kazuha just doesn't understand, won't understand because she's too focused on murders and is trying to rationalise things. For someone who believes in the supernatural, sometimes he thinks she's a little too close minded.

"Give me today," Heiji whispers, "give me today ta convince ya he's innocent. After tha', if you don't believe me... I'll turn 'im in myself."

They don't slam the door behind them, but it almost sounds like it when Kaito closes the archive door behind them, holding his breath as they wait to see whether anyone has seen them enter the room. Opposite him, Shinichi lowers the phone from his ear, glancing down at the screen with wide eyes.

"What...?" Kaito breathes, as Shinichi passes the phone over to him. The screen glows amongst the shadows, and he leans over to press the light switch.

Light illuminates the room, and for a moment, Kaito glances at the rows of bookshelves, each containing files from various old cases. There are four rows, roughly fifteen foot long, and it leaves him wide-eyed wondering how they'll be able to find Shinichi's case files within the thousands of files.

"Hattori hung up," Shinichi says, and he makes his way down the aisle on the far left, eyes skimming over the labelling system, never once stopping to examine anything. "It looks like we're on our own right now until he can call us back."

Kaito slips the phone into a pocket, racing after the ex-detective, escape plans spurring into life as they make their way to the end of the row.

"I see now what you meant when you told me you had to come along to find those files," Kaito says, falling into step beside Shinichi, "a simple search around would take too long."

Shinichi nods, "exactly," before dropping down to his feet, nails digging into the gaps between one of the tiles - he exhales, lifting it up, tile scraping the edge another.

Inside the gap, there is an aluminium case, a padlock sealing it, keeping it shut. Shinichi pulls it out, placing it in front of Kaito.

"Can you pick it?" he asks.

"I really don't think we have the time-" Kaito mutters. The look he receives however, forces him to glance down at the padlock, pointing it upward. He's always been quick with padlocks, and this one doesn't look like it's rusted at all. It shouldn't take any longer than ten seconds. "Yeah, sure, whatever."

Shinichi mutters a thank you, watches Kaito as he pushes his picks back into the lock, feeling the pins with the top pick, jiggling the lock until they're all firmly up. It takes five seconds, and then, he's pulling the lock off, passing the box back over for Shinichi to open.

Inside, there is a mobile phone, a case file and a set of keys. Shinichi pockets the phone and the keys, offers Kaito a sharp smile that begs him not to ask right now, before placing the case file - it's thick, at least a centimeter thick - on the inside of his suit, inside the pocket Kaito had incorporated into the disguise.

"Okay," Shinichi says, as he closes the box, placing the lock back on. "We need to get out of here."

"That would be nice," Kaito responds as the other teen places the box back into the hole, putting the tile back into place. "I do think maybe we're pushing our luck inside a police station."

"This was your entire idea!"

"I know that," Kaito says, standing back up and glancing over at the door, "and I'm not saying this isn't a good idea, but we're still pushing the limits and as fun as it is, I don't think we'd survive the ridicule of being caught the day after we've escaped prison."

"They'd probably throw us in solitary confinement forever," Shinichi sighs, "not that I'd complain."

Kaito shudders, remembers the image of Aoko staring across at him, her voice ringing in his ears. The movement is visible, shows in the quake of his shoulders and for a moment, Shinichi stops, offering him a small smile. It's meant to be reassuring, but it seems more like pity.

"Let's avoid being locked up again," Kaito says after a while, dragging himself to his feet. "Especially if it means no solitary."

At the door, Shinichi and Kaito share a look, offer sharp nods, before forcing themselves back outside into the corridor. Excitement curdles away into nervousness, and Kaito forces the door closed behind him, glancing up and down the corridor.

If there's anything he's learnt from his heists, it's that it is always easier to get inside a location, than out of it.

"Ran-chan!" Aoko shouts, climbing the steps from Kudanshita station to the street above, where Ran is waiting. "Aoko's so sorry for running late!"

The fact that they've still got over an hour until they're meant to all meet at the police station, leaves Ran wondering whether Aoko notices the irony of her own statement. Instead, she smiles, tells the girl that it's alright and they start their walk towards the police station.

Aoko had called her, asking if they could go to the station earlier today, before either Saguru or Hattori could arrive. Ran knows that she and Saguru have promised not to keep secrets, but she's accepted without telling him about it - she doesn't want to give Aoko any reason not to help them find Shinichi and KID.

"Come on!" Aoko says, offers a grin, and grabs onto Ran's wrist, pulling her along the street until they reach a taxi. And then, Aoko pushes Ran inside, offers another quirked smile and demands for the driver to take them to the police station.

The urgency makes Ran feel nervous.

As the taxi pulls away, Ran crosses her legs, turns to Aoko with a question in her voice. She says, "you never explained why you wanted to go to the station earlier."

Aoko leans back, rests her head against her seat. When she speaks, her previous smile has faded, leaving behind a blank expression not unlike the one's that Ran has read about in KID's case file. "Aoko wants to rewatch the psych files with Ran-chan, just with the two of us."

"Why?"

"She wants to rewatch the first interview, the one where Kudo-kun said working the case from two sides was exhausting," Aoko says, and she leans forward, her gaze meeting Ran's. Her irises dance with conviction - Ran purses her lips in response. "Aoko thinks that Kudo-kun was telling the truth."

Ran narrows her eyes, "Shinichi isn't a criminal."

"Aoko hasn't decided on that yet," she admits, shaking her head. "No, Aoko means that the case was exhausting to him. Aoko wants to rewatch the videos to see if he drops any hints as to why - Kudo-kun said it himself, he's leaving the case for whoever watches the recording."

A frown, Ran feels something fluttering in her stomach, although she's not sure whether it's nervousness or relief. In thinking that Shinichi was fully innocent... has she overlooked what he's been saying? Had he been leaving messages behind for people to look into...

"But... Surely he's leaving it up to the psychologist who was studying him... not for whoever was watching the video recording...?

Aoko bites her bottom lip, shakes her head. "He didn't keep full eye contact with the psychologist. Aoko noticed that he looked at the camera more often that he looked at her."

Ran hadn't notices that - in fact, she's pretty sure that none of them did. She and Hakuba had been so certain he was innocent, that they'd been focusing more on his words and overall body language. How they'd overlooked Shinichi's eye contact...

"Good find," Ran mutters, as the taxi pulls up to the pavement, the police station looming over them. "Let's head up to the computer then, shall we?"

"I thought ya said they were meeting ya at 10 o'clock," Kazuha asks, leaning forward over at the CCTV cameras. Heiji watches her from the corner of her eye, considers the sudden calmness in her voice, and turns to face the monitors. "But those two are here early."

Heiji watches, nervous, as Aoko and Ran walk in through reception, holding his breath. Then, his eyes flicker over to another camera, the outlines of Kuroba and Kudo in their disguises walking down the corridor.

Despite showing no outward signs of being on guard, Heiji can practically feel the paranoia they must be emitting.

"Yeah," Heiji says, pulling at the collar of his shirt - is it hot in here? Or is he just starting to feel the pressure?

"And this is Kudo an' Kuroba?" Kazuha asks, moving her finger to point up at the two criminals, as they take a left down the corridor, towards the staircase.

Heiji mutters a 'yes', and she frowns. "That's gonna be troubling. Tell 'em to stay away from tha' stairwell."

Heiji sends the text without thinking, before asking why.

Kazuha moves her finger down to another screen, the real Takagi and Sato standing in the entrance to the first floor's stairwell, talking to a twin-tailed traffic officer. Heiji feels his heart leap up his throat, tries to reach up to drag it back into his ribcage, and fails.

"Oh shit," Heiji mutters. "I need to tell them."

"Ya can't," Kazuha says, "'cause Nakamori-chan, and Mouri-chan, are on their way. They'll chase after 'em as soon as they can, an' it'll look weird if ya don't go with 'em."

The groan that seeps from his throat, is nothing short of helpless.

"Gimme ya phone," Kazuha says, leaning down to her bag and pulling out a pair of headphones. Placing them in her ears, she glares until the mobile is in her phone. She plugs them into Heiji's phone, unlocks it - she's known the passcode since before he'd even set it, somehow - and turns back to the CCTV footage. "Go help with th' search."

"Kazuha?"

"I promised I'd hear ya out didn't I?" Kazuha mutters, pulling up the records of his most recent calls. "I can't do tha' if yer in jail for abetting criminals. So... jus' for now, I'm on yer side."

The text message, Kaito thinks, offers no explanation, but since it's from Hattori, he accepts it and turns around before they can even set foot in the stairwell.

Minutes later, he overhears the outburst of 'they're in the what?', assumes the worst and realises that things aren't going as well as they could be. Glancing over at Shinichi, he offers his best poker face, a calm exterior to the worried paranoia he now feels.

And then, the phone goes off.

Kaito picks up, relief spreading through his bones as they rush down the corridor, back in the direction of the archives. How did they wake up so quickly - and even then, how have the detectives been discovered so early?

"Oh thank God," Kaito breathes, pulling Shinichi left, rather than right like the ex-convict seems to want to go, "you can get us out of here right?"

"I'll try." 

The voice is not Hattori's.

Unless Hattori has suddenly learned how to mimic voices, Kaito is extremely certain that the voice does not belong to the detective. The accent is still Osakan, but that doesn't mean anything to him - in fact, it only makes him feel more confused. His friend Kazuha then...? But why would Hattori-

"Heiji ain't available," Toyama Kazuha says, and her tone is quiet, "but I ain't a bad alternative. Turn right."

"I'm not sure I understand what's going on," Kaito asks. He takes her direction anyway, making his way down the corridor with a quick gait, steps like thunder across the floor. "Where is...?"

"He's searchin' for ya, like th' others," Kazuha says. "I found out he was helpin' ya when I came back fer my bag, and he still owes me an explanation, but this once I'll help."

Kaito exhales. He still feels nervous, energy building in him at the sight of danger and the unknown, but there's also a source of comfort there - even if it's not Hattori, there's someone on the other side of the phone willing to help them. He still doesn't know whether he can trust Kazuha, but for now, they don't really have a better alternative.

"Left," Kazuha orders, and then, another left. A right and then the two of them falter when Kazuha tells them to take a right here.

"But that's a dead end," Shinichi mutters. "We can't go down this way."

"Yes ya can-" Kazuha breaks off, and there's muffled conversation, "this room has th' best wifi, I'm watchin' videos while I wait for Heiji... look, do ya want a headphone - ya look stressed, I've got th' best cat video- no... okay..." another pause, "head down that corridor."

Kaito does, and as they're walking down the door, he realises why she's sending him down a corridor with no stairwells or obvious exits.

"What was that about cat videos, miss?" Kaito asks, as they come to a stop at the end of the corridor. He taps his hand against the window, glances at the lock at the bottom and nods his head. It's a fairly low window, almost seems like a hidden fire exit for police officers who need it.

"I'm playin' on my phone, while talkin' to ya on Heiji's. If anyone asks, these headphones are for videos I'm watchin', not talkin' to you guys."

"I almost feel like you need an award." Kaito mutters, glancing at the window, Shinichi keeps guard opposite him, looks over at him as he works on the lock, phone balanced between his shoulder and ear. "That's downright devious."

"Heiji told me ta get ya there," Kazuha says, "an' he's on his way with Kudo's girlfriend... an' yours. Don't take it by surprise, when they notice ya, get out."

She doesn't offer anything else, the line going dead.

Kaito doesn't understand why they need to see him - wait... it clicks almost instantly. If Hattori is seen openly trying to catch Shinichi and Kaito, he loses any suspicion that might fall upon him - it's almost genius. He wonders who came up with it, Hattori, or his protector Kazuha.

It seems almost odd to think that Hattori, supposed kendo champion needs to be protected, but looking at his decision to work with two escaped criminals, breaking laws to help them, it almost makes sense.

"I get it," Kaito says, turning to Shinichi and offering him a small smile. It's weak, worried. "Shinichi, we're gonna get company pretty soon."

"Shit..."

Kaito agrees wholeheartedly, but keeps his mouth shut. The sound of footsteps leaves him moving away from the unlocked window, pulling Shinichi backwards so that he's standing nearer to him.

Hattori comes into view, and then Shinichi's girlfriend, Ran-chan, and then, finally - Aoko.

He offers a wave, a smirk that seems to satisfy the growing hysteria building in his stomach as she faces him. Kaito doesn't even know why it unnerves him to see her face, to watch the wide-eyed stare she gives him, watching it slowly transform into a frown.

"Ran-" Shinichi breathes from beside him, and he takes a step forward, as if to walk towards her.

"Shinichi!" Ran calls, and she's moving forward, in front of Hattori who's frozen, in front of Aoko who is simply staring. "Shinichi?"

More footsteps - it seems that Hattori has brought a legion of police officers along with him, steps sounding more like a death march leading him back to prison. 

The sound brings him to life again, forces his attention away from Aoko, the curve of her eyebrows as she frowns, the openness of her body language, the way her expression is shuttered, a blankness not even he can read.

"Shinichi," Kaito says, raising his hand so that the teen can't move forward, "do you trust me?"

Shinichi glances at him, shakes his head ever so slightly, and responds, "with your mental state, not particularly." 

He pushes Kaito's hand down, stares past him to Ran. Kaito feels a fleck of irritation throb at his forehead, wonders whether he can get them out before Shinichi's own love-sickness can get him caught, and decides that there is only really one thing to do.

"That's the spirit," he chirps, and pushes Shinichi from the window.

Ran surges forward, and Kaito uses this moment, to pull a piece of paper from his pocket, tossing it to the ground by her feet.

"Sorry to cut all the reunions short," he says, offers a quick, small bow, "but we've got somewhere to be."

As he throws himself from the window himself, Kaito tries to ignore Aoko's call of 'don't leave.'

(Like with everything else she ever seems to say, it's completely impossible.)
