Which, I am going to write now while I am having this fic idea (probably going to be a short one, but in the future I might make a revised expanded version or something. Who knows).

I actually have multiple Gravity Falls and GF TAU and Reverse Falls and etc. stuff that stems from this specific The Book of Bill thing.

Specifically stuff exploring Dipper's nightmares.

(I have some other ideas for the other dreams and/or nightmares too. Sometimes even in relation to Dipper's in some way).

I love my boy, and his nightmares hurt my heart.

But also because I love him, I want to explore even more of issues/trauma/suffering and/or to do Dipper angst. And etc.

Because I want both happiness and/or suffering for my faves/the characters I love very much.

Like Dipper.

So he is going to be getting even more of that from me, probably.

Because he is great and I love him.

Are you me??? I literally left a reply on someone's post about wanting to see Lucifer more in season 2 and being scared it's not gonna happen cuz he's so OP and the main character is charlie and she has to solve her own problems

and I just went in with a reply like "OKAY BUT WHAT IF HE GETS TO TRAIN HER???" That solves both problems???? We get to see more of him AND Charlie gets to problem solve without him needing to just OP his way through the story

I am obsessed with how narratively convenient Lark's divinatory abilities are. She's the only one of the protagonists who is both pragmatic and has a working sense of self-preservation, so having some internal impulse that is actually the guiding hand of the cosmos pushing her into doing the REALLY stupid shit is both necessary and really useful.

Like, I am the type of writer who kind of scoffs at the idea that characters are beyond the writer's control and will completely screw over your outline, because on one hand, a sensible outline will follow the characters' personalities and tendencies anyway. Obviously in an ensemble cast you will need to do some wrangling, but in theory your characters are responding to varying degrees of stimuli in order to maneuver them into the places you need them to be for things to all come together in the end.

But more importantly, "curse from god" is the funniest and easiest way to push any character to do things beyond the realm of reason when necessary, and frankly, what the fuck is the point of playing god if you don't embrace that?

The onesie

This was based on my post

Scully with William in tow has decided that she wants do some baby clothes shopping. She parallel parks in front of the store and goes to get the stroller and then William from her SUV.

“Jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine” she sings as she places William in the stroller.

She tucks William in “but I helped him drink his wine” she sings to him before headed towards to store’s entrance.

“Okay I can do this” she says to herself, already feeling the emotions of Mulder missing another moment in their lives.

She strolls through the store, picking up some socks, more bibs, and another baby beanie since cooler weather is approaching. She continues to distract herself from her emotions by continuing to hum the words to Jeremiah was a Bullfrog and then she hits the onesies section.

It's as if it was placed there just for her. The perfect onesies for the baby of Spooky Mulder. Holding back tears, she goes closer towards it. It is the cutest onesie she has ever seen. Baby blue with rockets, planets, stars, and a space satellite.

“Keep it together Dana” she thinks to herself as she takes the onesie off the rack. Her efforts to keep her emotions at bay are futile and she thinks about how Mulder would love it. Tears starts rolling down her cheeks as she realizes Mulder is missing out on another moment.

“William your father would love this” she says choking on tears bent over William’s stroller.

“Okay compose yourself” she thinks to herself as she heads to the checkout.

“Awe this is my favorite onesies” the clerk says as she is folding it up and placing it into a bag. “Yeah mine too” Scully says smiling, trying not to let the clerk see her emotions.

Scully places William in the car and puts the stroller up and heads back home fighting back more tears as she looks at William through the rear view mirror.

Orithyia's Eternal Youth potion quest, at one point, brings her to a place where one of the ingredients goes "blood of a nymph".

Orithyia pales (which is impressive considering what a pale bitch they are already). They stare from the bushes at the playing nymphs giggling and splashing water at each other. The knife trembles in Orithyia's hand. Is this necessary? For...powering up a potion...? Draw the blood of a helpless nymph? Does she have to do this? Can't they just...politely ask a nymph to give them a blood sample? No, that's out of the question. The nymphs would know that she is on the way of brewing something forbidden... They would refuse for sure. Or at the very least, they would tell Artemis about the mortal who dared to ask for something so morbid. And that would be the end of Orithyia's potion-making.

The only way, is by force. Orithyia's stomach twists. They can't use their brains to orchestrate some sort of accident either, or ask someone else to do it and stab a nymph - the ancient text of the recipe clearly states, that the magic will only work if the alchemist themselves draws the blood.

What you sow, you reap yourself.

Later, Orithyia manages to catch a wandering, lonely nymph. Hiding her face behind a cloak so the nymph can't recognize them, Orithyia grabs the nymph's arm from the bushes. Swift slash to the arm before she can turn into a pile of flowers. Not enough to hurt the nymph too much, but enough to draw some of that glimmering blood. And then, immediate retreat. The nymph screams in fear and pain, screams for her sisters. Orithyia is already gone. Running through the bushes frantically while tucking the bloody knife into their pocket. The leaves rustle as they run, and Orithyia is SURE that a god must have seen them.

But somehow, they manage to make it out of the forest. Dusk is falling. Orithyia has succeeded. They look at the bloody knife, and tremble.

Is this the price of immortal life? Hurting an innocent being?

Orithyia thinks of their old life back in Athens - feeling small and helpless, stuck between a stove and an arrogant prick of a husband, having no way to practice alchemy unless it was in secrecy, because "that's not a woman's thing to do"...

They think of the fear in the nymph's eyes. Even if she was not harmed beyond a small wound. Orithyia sees themselves in those eyes. They lean against a tree, feeling nauseous, taking fast breaths.

Is this worth it all? Is she doing a grave mistake? How low are they going to have to drop to achieve their goal...? She shudders, thinking of how this was only one of several ingredients.

It's all for Boreas... so she can be with him for eternity. So he won't lose Orithyia. A noble cause. For Boreas. For her dear Boreas, who saved her from the hellish life in Athens, who loves them despite all her flaws, who accepted being labelled by people of Athens as a "princess-kidnapping monster" JUST to keep Orithyia safe... who is always so gentle, loving and wonderful behind his mask of a cold cruel storm, who doesn't want to be alone again... Who Orithyia loves so, so much...

The least that Orithyia could do to show him their love and gratefulness, is this. And if it means they gets to stay by the side of the god they love, is any price too high?

Orithyia forces their heart to harden, their brows furrow, and they wipe the glimmering blood out of the knife, squeezing it to the little ingredient flask. Two ingredients, done. Eight more to go.
