So, yesterday was my birthday right and my friend asked what my bf did for me.

My friends threw a party for me even though I'm deeply traumatized by everything involving that day and yes I cried in the bathroom but that's not-

My friend told me how sweet it was for him to plan it but - he didn't. And I didn't have the heart to tell her that. But that also made me realize that even the "smallest" (my favourite actually) gifts I got were letters and I didn't get even that from him. Didn't really get a decent congratulations either..?

And when we got home and I was tired as hell he apologized to me for not getting me anything. Which being completely honest doesn't bother me. It's okay.

But my other friend says I should be upset. But I'm not. Why would I force myself to be?

She says at the very least he could write a letter too. Because he already did it before. Or maybe help planning. Or maybe helping with the food / drinks. Something. But he just showed up and then she asked me what would have happened in my birthday if I didn't have my friends?

I don't know. But that's kinda the point? I didn't want to do anything for my birthday because it'd suck. I'm glad it didn't for the first time ever. One of my friends even took me on a ride on his motorcycle - never even got in one before - and I bonked my helmet with his two times but ok. It was fun as hell.

Maybe I'm not upset because I wasn't expecting anything so. You can't be disappointed when you. Don't expect anything.
