LEGACY HISTORY CHALLENGE - THE SIMS 4 - PREHISTORIC AGE (PALEOLITHIC, MESOLITHIC AND NEOLITHIC)

*Translation Note: English isn't my mother language and I’m not an expert in idiomatic expression. So if you find any errors or something weird, please forgive me and let me know on “ask me” if you want.

INTRODUCTION

The prehistory of humanity is a period that ranges from around 35000 years BC to until the invention of writing around 3500 BC. It is divided into at least three phases, characterized by the production technique: Paleolithic or Old Stone Age (until approximately 10000 BC), Mesolithic (13000 BC - 9000 BC) and Neolithic or New Stone Age, (10000 BC - writing/civilization). The Upper Paleolithic corresponds to the glacial period, when men inhabited caves and were hunter-gatherers. The Mesolithic is a transition phase with the end of the last glaciation and the Neolithic, the phase in which agriculture emerged. Characteristics of the Mesolithic and Late Neolithic vary from region to region, so these periods overlap, sometimes in terms of dates.

*I am considering only Cro-Magnons (ancestors of modern humans Homo Sapiens Sapiens), excluding Neanderthals and other more primitive hominid species.

In this new version of the Legacy History Challenge, I divided the Prehistoric Age gameplay into three phases: Paleolithic (Ice Age), Mesolithic (Stone Age) and Neolithic (Agricultural Age). I created general rules that apply to all phases such as Death Rolls, Special Events and specific rules for each phase. The Prehistoric Age begins in the Paleolithic with the Founder Sim as the Legacy Matriarch. After you complete your matriarch's life cycle and other specified requirements, the next heir must be chosen from among the descendants and lead his own clan in the Mesolithic. After this heir completes the life cycle, you will begin the Neolithic Revolution by discovering agriculture. You can also play longer than allotted for each level if you want. The gameplay time and the number of generations at this time when there is no writing is completely free.

GENERAL RULES FOR PREHISTORY

1 - Clans, Loving Relationships, Heirs and Offspring Creation:

1.1 - To start, together with your Founder Sim, create some Sims to populate the world. They can be divided into small groups and will be the other clans. Prehistoric packs were small, 8 to 15 people should suffice. You can let them breed through the MC Command Center or neighborhood stories. I usually create a settlement for each pack and have the Sims in the pack divided into lots in the same neighborhood. (Using the MC CC for pregnancy is a bit annoying because it doesn't limit by neighborhood and sometimes I have to delete babies or unpregnate Sims from different packs. A good tip is to invite the Sim to your lot with MC Cheats and change her pregnancy partner to someone from her pack.)

1.2 - Polygamy prevails (although male Sims can fight each other over female Sims, winning against the strongest). If you have “The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle” expansion pack uses the “Free Love” action plan.

1.3 - No prejudice about homo affective relationships, which must occur naturally..

1.4 - Polemic: Prehistoric sims should not follow the same moral rules as modern societies, so we probably had incestuous relationships, even because this practice existed in ancient societies after the stone age, as we see relationships between brothers and sisters in the pharaonic dynasty and in Sumerian, Biblical-Abrahamic and Greco-Roman myths. As this topic can make people uncomfortable, feel free to ignore this rule.

1.5 - To decide “Try for Baby'' with a Sim, follow the most basic instincts of heteronormativity, prioritize physical strength in men and fertility (curvy body characteristics) and youth in women. If you use Wicked Whims or Wonderful Whims make your sims attracted to these body features.

1.6 - If you use MC Woohoo keep the woohoo risky at 40% for teens, 35% for young adults, 20% for adults and 5% for elders. ( I don't know if the elder option refers to women, but in any case I hope this is the fertility rate of elder men.) IIf you use Wicked Whims, keep your menstrual cycle activated, your fertility rate in “boosted” mode, pregnancy chances in 80% and avoid all contraceptive methods. (It is more difficult to have children with the menstrual cycle than with MC Woohoo.) If not using any mods, Sims can only “Try for Baby”.

1.7 - Panda Sama's Child Birth mod is now allowed for this and all future Ages.

1.8 - All babies must be born at home. Pregnant Sims can’t go to the hospital.

1.9 - Newborn babies and infants should be breastfed. Don’t use bottles.

1.10 - Every Sim born in this Age must have the “Hot-Headed” trait, as they are a Cave Sim. Use common sense for the other traits and avoid those that don't match the Age.

1.11 - You can adopt child Sims that you find around the world, moving to your family/group, but you cannot adopt through the traditional way on the computer. However, the heir to the legacy must be of your blood. Genealogical legacy, remember?

1.12 - A Sim who is born into your pack, even if not of your blood, must be accepted and cared for by everyone. Example: if your male Sim is partnered with a woman who is pregnant by another, even if they are from a rival pack, this baby is your Sim’s child. He is just not eligible as an heir because of rule 1.11. To be clear: you cannot continue the legacy from his children, but your Sim has to accept him as a child. Here you cannot use the excuse of wild basic instinct and male territoriality and abandon this child because motherhood is associated with life. And life meant everything at this stage when the species was struggling to survive. (Don't take it to the modern issue of motherhood related to abortion and social impositions on women. Remember the statues of prehistoric Venus and the hypothesis of their association with fertility by some researchers.)

1.13 - In Prehistory, the heir could be male or female. You can choose to make your clan fully matriarchal (historians’ hypothesis) or follow the idea that Cave Sims were brutes who kidnapped women. Or both.

1.14 - In future generations if your Sim is male you must choose your heir by physical characteristics, as there was no DNA test at that time. You know who your children are from the game’s family tree, but the Sims don’t.

1.15 - Men are usually hunters and women gatherers. Men go out hunting and leave women to take care of the offspring, but you can also have female hunters.

1.16 - Children and teenagers cannot go to school. If you have the MC Command Center, disable the schools.

1.17 - Child Sims should help with fishing, collecting plants and digging, for example.

1.18 - Teen Sims are considered young adults and can have children. ( Ignoring EA's life expectancy which will be covered in topic 2 and only taking into account the Sim's appearance, which is almost adult height.)

1.19 - Adult Sims are considered old. Adult women aren’t as eligible to have babies.

1.20 - Elder Sims are considered wise. Few should reach that age.

2 - Birthdays, Deaths and Illnesses:

The Lifespan of Sims in default normal mode is not equivalent to that of a human being since each day of pregnancy represents a trimester and gestation takes 4 days (1 day without pregnancy detection + 3 days of gestation equivalent to the first, second and third trimester), at age 25 your Sim would be an elder person and die around age 33.

Also note that the life stage of the adult Sim is disproportionate to that of the child and baby Sim in EA’s default. However, as life expectancy was low in that Age, it is estimated that at age 30 cavemen were already considered elderly. Add to that the fact that there was no calendar and that part of the challenge covers a period of about 35,000 years or more, you can play in normal mode for now. You can also choose to double the adult life stage if you want, rejuvenating your Sim to an adult when they reach the elderly stage. ( You will have to use cheats or MC Command Center for this.)

2.1 - It is not allowed to grow the Sim before the birthday.

2.2 - Birthday cakes are not allowed. Let the Sim grow up naturally. (You can remove the negative buffs with a cheat or use No Sad Moddlet on Birthday mod. You can also age the Sim manually in "Cheat Sim info" by pressing shift + left mouse button on the Sim.)

2.3 - Roll de dice for deaths. Your Sims are exposed to weather, hunger, disease, and the wild. They are literally struggling to survive and reproduce the species. So deaths are common and only the strongest survive. You must roll the dice at each life stage to see if the Sim survives to the next one. If the Sim gets sick, they must also roll the dice. Come up with a time-appropriate excuse for the deaths.

2.4 - Exception to rule 2.3: If you have any mods that add illnesses to the game, you can choose to only roll the dice when your Sim gets sick, rather than at every age change, in case these mods make your Sim sick all the time.

2.5 - Only the Matriarch is exempt from roll the dice. After all, if she dies you lose the challenge. So she is the only Sim that can die only from “natural” causes (deaths that exist in The Sims 4), without player interference.

Dice roll sugestion:

Observation: You can find another suggestion of dice rolls perhaps more realistic (in prehistory there was no writing, any life expectancy is an assumption on the part of historians) in the Legacy Eras Challenge by Marina Montenegro. Note that, playing The Sims in normal mode and with the Wicked Whims or Wonderful Whims menstrual cycle, even boosted in a short period, the fertility rate is very low. So with such severe rolls it's likely that few Sims will survive. Try to have as many babies as possible.

If your Sim rolls any of the specified dice for each life stage in the table above, it means they must die in that life stage. Death in childbirth, newborn and elderly can occur on the same day you roll the dice, the day the Sim is born or grows up. For the Infant, Toddler, Child, Teen, Young Adult, and Adult stages you must roll the dice again or use the roulette wheel to decide when the Sim should die. That way the unlucky Sims don't all die on their birthday. For example: An infant who rolls 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20 when growing to a toddler will die as a toddler. Toddlers live for 7 days, so the number you roll on a D7 is the number of days your Sim can live before dying. So he doesn't die the same day he grew up. For longer stages you can use D100 and divide by the number of days, roll two dice and add the days, ignoring days more than the life stage or use roulette.

2.6 - At birth, roll a 20-sided dice, D20. If the mother is a teenager or an adult and rolls a 1, 10, or 20, the mother must die in childbirth. If the mother is a young adult, childbirth is considered to be a little easier and she dies if she rolls a 1 or a 20.

2.7 - For twins, triplets, or more babies, the mother must roll a D20 dice for each baby.

2.8 - If the mother dies in childbirth and there is no other Sim who is pregnant or has a child of nursing age to care for the baby (newborn or infant stages), the baby must die. There are no goats or domestic cattle to feed the baby.

2.9 - There is a chance that your pregnant Sim will have a “complicated pregnancy” if she roll a 5. In that case, she won't die during childbirth, but will be very sick. You must roll a D20 for the mother again until the next day. If you roll 1, 10, or 20 for teenagers and adults and 1 or 20 for young adults, the mother must die. If she survives, she will not be able to have any more children. Check the option in the CAS so that she cannot get pregnant again. ( If you use the Child Birth mod, there is already a birth complication option and you can ignore it when you roll a 5, but if you receive a birth complication notification, you must roll the second dice to see if the mother survives.)

2.10 - If for some reason you break rule 2.9 and your Sim gets pregnant again, it's a death sentence. She will not survive this birth.

2.11 - For the newborn, roll a D20 die. If you roll a 1, 5, 7, 10, 15, 17 or 20, the baby must die immediately. (Click with the left button and shift press on the bassinet and choose the option to starve. The baby will be taken away by foster care and Sims will be saddened by his loss.)

2.12 - When growing a newborn to infant, roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 2, 6, 10, 14 or 18, the infant must die. Roll a dice again or the roulette wheel to decide how many days he/she can live in the infant phase.

2.13 - When growing an infant to toddler roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20, the toddler must die. Roll a dice again or the roulette wheel to decide how many days the Sim can live in the toddler stage.

2.14 - When growing a toddler to child, roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 2, 6, 12 or 16, the child must die. Roll a dice again or the roulette wheel to decide how many days the Sim can live as a child.

2.15 - When growing the child to teenager, roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 3, 7, 13 or 17, the teenager must die. Roll a dice again or roll the roulette wheel to decide how many days the Sim can live as a teen.

2.16 - When a Sim grows to the age of a teenager you must also roll a 100-sided dice, D100. If the Sim is unlucky and rolls a 1, it means he/she is sterile. Change the option on Cas so he/she can never have children.

2.17 - When growing the teenager to young adult, roll a D20 dice. If you roll an 4, 8, 14 or 18, the young adult must die. Roll a dice again or the roulette wheel to decide how many days he/she can live in the young adult stage. Male Sims must do the rite of passage. See rule 2.3.3. A bad roll could mean he failed during this rite.

2.18 - When growing the young adult to adult, roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 1, 9, 11 or 19, the adult must die. Roll a dice again or roulette to decide how many days he/she can live in the adult stage.

2.19 - If you choose to double the adult life stage, roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 3, 10, 13 or 20 the adult must die. Roll a dice again or a roulette wheel to decide how many days he/she can live as an adult.

2.20 - When growing the adult to an elder, roll a D20 dice. If you roll a 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 or 19, the adult doesn’t grow to an elder and must die. If he rolls another number, roll a dice again or roulette wheel to decide how many days the Sim can live in the elder stage. If you roll a number above the default established by EA for the duration of this life stage, you can let the Sim die “naturally”, without your intervention.

2.21 - When a fight occurs with Sims outside the pack, the Sim who loses must roll the dice corresponding to his life stage. For example, if a Young Adult Sim loses the fight and rolls an 4, 8, 14 or 18 on D20, he must die.

2.22 - If you have “The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle”, use the “Roughhousing Encouraged” action plan to make the game more exciting.

2.23 - If you have a Speellcaster visiting your lot at the time of death, you can ask the Grim Reaper to spare your Sim. Otherwise, you should not interact with the Grim Reaper.

2.24 - If you have the expansion pack “The Sims 4 Life & Death” you can be reborn, but you should not play with Ghost Sims. You must choose a family that already has a baby of newborn age, delete this Sim and replace it with your Sim. (I recommend that you use MC Cas from MC Command Center to copy the appearance of the Sim you replace and paste it onto your Sim. This way, your reincarnated Sim will have the genetic characteristics of the new family.)

2.25 - Don't forget to cover your Sim's tombstone or urn with rocks.

The above rules are for Sims in your family/group and descendants removed from the main lot. As for the other Sims in the world, you can choose to leave the death neighborhood changes settings enabled and use the events in item 3 to cause deaths. You can use the dice rolls suggestion above for all Sims in the world if you want too.

3 - Rite of Passage, Great Hunt, Tribal War, Wild Animal Attacks, Plagues and Natural Disaters:

The rules below correspond to possible historical events designed to decrease the world's population, especially when you reach peaks of 80 Sims or more. You can delete most of the ghosts in the next Age to lighten the game. Only items 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 are mandatory. The use of the other events is optional. However, keep in mind that the more you use it, the harder it will be to survive in the Prehistoric Age.I suggest that at least one of them be created in each Prehistoric Age phase in your gameplay. If your Sim was unlucky on the dice rolls when changing he life stage, you can use hunts or rites of passage as an excuse for his death, in addition to these other events.

3.1 - You must perform a Great Hunt every Sunday. All male Sims in your world (except children and elders) must participate. Young Adult and Adult Sims should go hunting and Teen Sims should go as helpers to observe and learn. Create the “Great Hunt” holiday on Sundays with the “Attend Holiday Ceremony” tradition. Requires “The Sims 4 Seasons” expansion. (You can take the negative buff off women or use the No more No more Awful Holiday Sad Modlet. mod.)

3.2 - Hunts shouldn't be easy. Sometimes when a group got together to hunt a mammoth, some would get hurt. Roll the dice once to see which Sims (young adults and adults) will come back hurt, and roll again to decide who should die or heal.

3.3 - A teen hunter (usually a male Sim) close to young adult age must take a Rite of Passage that will make them a Great Hunter. It must be an event of great danger, such as facing a wild animal alone or getting into a fight with someone stronger. The Sim must be victorious to prove their courage and gain the respect of the pack.

3.4 - Prehistoric packs usually hunted together, but they could also create rivalries and war with each other. Every time a war occurs, roll a dice for each Sim involved. Even number Sim lives, odd number he dies.

3.5 - Generally Sims that war or attack other gangs are male and females should be spared to generate more offspring. Roll the dice from time to time for pregnant women from other packs. Thus, few will survive to the age of old.

3.6 - Wild animals may attack settlements from time to time. Roll the life stage-related dice for all group members.

3.7 - Mountain slides, storms, earthquakes and other natural disasters can also happen, killing your Sims. Roll the dice to decide who survives. These types of events are more likely to occur when there is a blizzard. Requires “The Sims 4 Seasons”.

3.8 - Pests and diseases would not have been uncommon in prehistory. Roll the dice once to decide who gets sick and again to see which sick people die.

Dice roll suggestion for special events to occur:

4 - Create a Sim Items:

4.1 - In the Paleolithic, prioritize features such as dark skin and light eyes for the Cro-Magnons and red hair, light skin, large nose and robust body for the descendants of Neanderthals. Mesolithic Sims must have Eastern Central Asian or African ethnic characteristics.

Cro-Magnon had dark skin and light eyes.

4.2 - If you use personalized content for hair, prioritize those that look natural, tribal, scruffy or without modern hairstyles and cuts.

4.3 - Use beards and prioritize long hair in men, although teenagers can be beardless or have a slight down.

4.4 - Don't forget about body hair on women.

4.5 - Tattoos are allowed as long as modern tattoos are avoided. See my mod for tattoos that match the in-game face paint colors.

4.6 - If possible, use custom content consistent with the Age. Skins for clothes and bones for accessories.

4.7 - Don't use anything metallic or that looks like fabric.

4.8 - Prioritize cold weather clothes in the Paleolithic and cold and hot clothes in the Mesolithic.

4.9 - Polemic: Prehistoric Sims shouldn't have the same pudency as modern Sims, so your Sim might prefer to live more freely in hot climates without being covered in heavy fur. Free, as it came into the world.

4.10 - Optional: If your Sims reach old age they are around 30 years old. If you double the adult life stage, it's 40 years old. So you don't need to give them gray hair or a very aged look.

5 - Worlds and Lots:

5.1 - You must delete all lots from the world where you live or adapt them for the challenge.

5.2 - Create a secluded lot where you can't see the roads and stay away from them as there were no roads at that time. You can use the T.o.o.l. to cover roads and modern items with stones.

5.3 - Use the “Off the Grid” and “Simple Life” lot challenges. Requires “The Sims 4 Cottage Living” expansion pack.

5.4 - The starting lot can have a settlement with items of your choice, or you can choose to start on empty land.

5.5 - When your sim migrates, they must leave their building items behind. Only inventory items can be taken, as a Sim could theoretically carry them without assistance from wagons or pack animals. You can take the bonfire and the tent, for example.

6 - Money and Bills:

6.1 - There was no currency in Prehistory, only barter, so your Sim doesn't have to worry about money for now. Use the starting money to equip the lot with caves (custom content), rocks, bushes and trees.

6.2 - You can use motherlode or any money cheat.

6.3 - Sims cannot have a job.

6.4 - You can use cheats to pay the bills as there is no tax at this time. If you use the MC Command Center, you can activate the automatic bill pay option.

6.5 - If you win a gift from an NPC, you can keep it if it is consistent with the Age, otherwise delete it and exchange it for another one of your choice and similar value.

7 - Construction Mode Objects and Custom Content Items:

7.1 - You cannot build a house. Just sleep outdoors, have fur shelters, caves or thatched game roofs.

7.2 - Electronics, instruments or items that do not match the Age aren’t allowed. No woodworking table (in the Paleolithic and Mesolithic), flower arranging table, yoga mat, etc…

7.3 - Again, you cannot have a yoga mat, nor meditate. It’s Prehistory, okay? Come back to reality, your Sim is struggling to survive and needs shelter and food, not zen.

7.4 - If you have the “The Sims 4 Laundry Day” stuff, forget that it exists. What? Do you really think they washed those skins?

7.5 - You cannot use electric lighting or candles, only the campfire. Sims must remain in the dark when the campfire lights up. Requires “The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat” game pack.

7.6 - You can’t have a toilet. However, your Sim is out in the wild, so they might have lots of bushes to use for the bathroom. Feel free to use the T.o.o.l. and spread bushes across the world. Requires “The Sims 4 Get Together” expansion pack.

7.7 - Initially without a grill, stove or fridge. The Sim must eat what they harvest and fish and only use the “Fire Rocks” campfire for cooking (requires “The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat” game pack). Custom content stove or grill can only be used if the Sim has cooking level 10. (I don't know if EA has already fixed the bug, but the campfire broke after “The Sims 4 Cottage Living” expansion pack and the option to roast fish did not appear. I needed the MAL22_OR_CampfireSimpleLivingFix mod to make it work.)

7.8 - You can’t have a bath or shower. You can wash the babies in the sink.

Note: The exception to Rules 7.6, 7.7 and 7.8 is seasonally custom content. If you use personalized content you have a small advantage. So don't abuse these items, your Sim must go through difficulties and be exposed to nature.

7.9 - You are in the Stone Age, not the Metal Age. Custom content objects must be stone, leather, or roughly carved wood. Objects that have nails or iron parts are not allowed. Example: Chairs, beds, tables, cupboards with nailed connections are not allowed.

7.10 - To have an object you need to spend time and work as if you were making it.

Work suggestion to be able to have an object:

- Campfire "Rocks of Fire" (requires The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat game pack) - find 5 items by digging or breaking rocks + harvesting or see 5 plants. If you use the cutting down tree mod you can spread trees around the world or put the sticks and trunks in your inventory after observing the plants.

- Sulani Volcanic BBQ Searer (The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle) - dig 10 items + harvesting or see 5 plants.

- Stone Sink - Find 10 items by digging ground or rocks.

- Stone Bathtub - Find 30 items by digging ground or rocks.

- Stone refrigerator - only in the Paleolithic (Ice Age) or winter. Summer and hot days there is no way to preserve food, so let it spoil.

- Stove and grill - find 20 items + have Level 10 cooking. Campfire increases cooking skill. (Some custom content doesn’t work “Off the Grid”, in which case it is allowed to take the lot challenge due to a game logic failure to interpret any stove as electric.)

- Cave shelters are unlocked when your Sim moves to a new lot. The lot must be set up before playing on it, and these items can’t be moved or removed. Once you place the cave in a certain location, it should stay there until the Industrial Age or the invention of demolition machines. If you really need to use this lot, as there are few game packs, you should at least keep the cave in the place it was placed throughout the Prehistoric Age.

- Fur shelters (tents) - 20 hunts. Can be taken in inventory.

- Shelter made of thatched roof from the game - harvest or see 30 weeds. It can’t be taken to another lot when you moving.

- Fur rugs - 1 hunt.

Stone beds:

- Double bed - find 20 items + 8 hunts.

- Single bed - find 10 items + 4 hunts.

- Toddler bed - find 8 items + 2 hunts.

- If a bed is made of wood or material that mimics interwoven vegetable fiber, use the same number of items above, but replace the action “digging stone” with “harvesting” or “see plants”.

7.11 - Avoid the magic hands. Let Sims clean up their own mess.

8 - Skills:

8.1 - Sims can develop cooking, fishing, fitness, charisma, mischief, pet training, singing and dancing skills.

8.2 - If you use custom content appropriate to the time, the Sim may have painting skills. Allowed paintings are only prehistoric. See my mod.

8.3 - If you have a bathtub, sink or custom content suitable for the time, you can replace it if it is broken, avoiding gaining the handiness skill. It doesn’t make much sense for a stone sink to break if it doesn’t have plumbing.

8.4 - The Sim can fish and hunt. Since there is no hunt action in the game, you can send the Sim to run. When performing this action it is allowed to use the option “roast marshmallows” on the fire pretending that it is frozen meat. You can also use the board from the mod Hunting & Foraging or olde cookbook kit v.03 which allows you to hunt. In this case, don’t forget to delete a piece of meat every time you use the “roast marshmallows” option.

8.5 - Roll the dice to decide if the Sim sent to hunt dies or not. You can leave the Sim exposed to the weather and enable temperature kills, as if it were due to unsuccessful hunting. Only the matriarch is exempt from this rule. If you use the mod Hunting & Foraging or olde cookbook kit v.03, roll the dice if the Sim comes back injured, attacked by a bear.

8.6 - Your Sim can only collect items near their current lot. If the hunters are going to travel, they should take a campfire and a tent and stay away for days.

8.7 - Your Sim can’t cook any modern cooking options like hamburgers or hot dogs. Just roast fish and marshmallows (rule 8.5) on the fire. Only recipes consistent with the Age can be cooked on stoves and barbecues. Note that with the “Simple Life” lot challenge your Sim will have a hard time cooking. Prepare to starve.

9 - Animals:

9.1 - If you have “The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs” Expansion Pack, the only animals allowed are wild-looking ones like raccoons, wolves, and foxes.

9.2 - Wild animals (cats and dogs) should have traits that remind them they are wild like "Aggressive", "Independent", "Stubborn", "Aloof", “Frisky”, ”Skittish”, "Free Spirit" and "Territorial".

9.3 - If your pet gets sick, wait a day and roll the d20 dice for it. On a roll of 5 or more, it must survive and acquire resistance to that disease. Watch the symptoms and the next time it has the same illness it won’t need to roll the dice. (Apparently the best way to cure animal sickness is with the wellness treats from the vet machine, which you can find in “Debug.” To kill the animal, grow to old first, as animals only die from old age.)

9.4 - If you have “The Sims 4 Cottage Living” expansion pack, you can’t have cows and llamas. These animals have not been domesticated yet.

9.5 - If you have “The Sims 4 Horse Ranch” expansion pack, you can’t have mini goats, mini sheep and horses. But you can have zebras, moose and other animals that look wild. Just don't ride them. Historically, these animals have not been domesticated. So, don't abuse it, okay? You can try to tame a donkey.

9.6 - Wild animals (horses) must have some trait that reminds you that they are wild. Mandatory traits: "Aggressive" and "Defiant". Third trait: “Independent”, “Energetic”, “Free Spirit” or “Fearful”.

10 - Occults:

10.1 - If you have “The Sims 4 Realm of Magic” game pack, you can create a Spellcaster Sim who will be the shaman and healer of the pack.

10.2 - Spellcasters roll the same dice as common Sims, but can roll twice if they have skill in magic or potions and save their Sim from death if they are on the lot.

10.3 - The religion is based on Mother Earth that provides fruits and hunting and/or on Shamanism and identification of Sims with power animals. The priests and healers were the shamans. Feel free to make constructions and stories accordingly.

PALEOLITHIC (ICE AGE) - SPECIFIC RULES

Your Founder Sim is a nomad with basic instincts. So, she is in search of food, safety and to reproduce.

11 - Founder Sim:

11.1 - Start Legacy with a female teen Sim (if you opted out of playing the previous era). This Sim will be the Matriarch of your legacy. (Let's consider the hypothesis that the culture was matriarchal in prehistory.)

11.2 - Start with the "Loner" and "Hot-Head" traits. “Loner” will make your Sim tense when seeing strangers, after all other Sims can be dangerous. "Hot-head" because she's a Cave Sim.

11.3 - The Matriarch must have the "Big Happy Family" aspiration and the aspiration reward trait "Matriarch" before dying. The first official marriage must be performed when the Matriarch is elderly and presided over by her. This way, your Sim can complete the aspiration. Suggestion: choose to carry out this marriage with someone important from another group, in order to create alliances. (It is allowed to use the “read to baby before bed” action to complete level 2 of the “Big and Happy Family” aspiration. Abstract by pretending that Sim is telling a story, because at that time there was no writing. After completing, delete the book.)

11.4 - The Matriarch must have the "Great Storyteller" reward before dying and must tell stories at a campfire to other Sims during the challenge.

11.5 - The Matriarch must obligatorily produce heirs.

11.6 - Have children with five different Sims.

11.7 - Start in winter in the Ice Age (Paleolithic). Requires “The Sims 4 Seasons”. expansion.

11.8 - The duration of the season must be at least 28 days. Throughout the Paleolithic period it must always have been winter. Whenever the year ends you change the season to winter in the mailbox. (You need MC Command Center installed to have this function or use testingcheats true. Press “shift+ctrl+c" on your keyboard. Type "testingcheats true" and press "Enter". Use the code “seasons.set_season 2” to make the season winter.)

11.9 - If the world doesn’t freeze in winter, then you should use cheats to make it snow and freeze rivers and lakes. Sulani, Tomarang, and Selvadorada are not allowed in Ice Age.

11.10 - In the Paleolithic you could choose to settle in a lot with caves and migrate from time to time due to the hostile climate.

11.11 - In Paleolithic times, Sims can harvest plants, but cannot plant crops.

11.12 - Complete the frog collection.

MESOLITHIC (STONE AGE) - SPECIFIC RULES

After the Matriarch completes the life cycle and dies, choose one of her descendants to be her next heir.

12 - Leader of the Pack:

12.1 - Change the length of seasons to 14 days. Now you can have four seasons and not just winter and experience the Stone Age with storms and scorching heat.

12.2 - The official heir of this phase must have the “Leader of the Pack” aspiration and move other Sims to your family/group, which will be your clan“ (requires “The Sims 4 Get Together” expansion pack). However, the leader should not be confused with a king, the band is a collective community, a big family, where resources and tasks are divided among all. The “Leader of the Pack” is a Sim that all other Sims trust and follow for their strength, skills, and courage.

12.3 - Physical strength predominates, so the “Leader of the Pack” must have a high fitness skill and win all the fights to defend the clan.

12.4 - The leadership of the “Leader of the Pack” can be questioned by another Sim in the clan. The dispute will be resolved through a fight interaction. You can decide whether the losing Sim should die, be exiled, or remain in the pack (least likely option).

12.5 - Another Sim descendant of the matriarch can enter into a dispute with the heir Sim for the Legacy. A fight must happen. The loser dies or is exiled. The winner must continue the tasks.

12.6 - In the Mesolithic, your Sim must be nomadic and constantly change lots in search of resources. Suggestion: migrate to Oasis Springs or any desert region.

12.7 - In the Mesolithic the Sim can harvest, dig, fish, hunt (run) and plant only one seedling of each species, but can’t have a garden or move the plant. The seedling must be born where it was planted, in a disorganized way. It’s like your Sim dropped the seeds on the ground, but still don’t have farming skills.

12.8 - The Sim cannot pull weeds or apply insecticide, sick plants cannot be cared for and must die.

12.9 - The Sim can have the cow plant.

12.10 - Catch all base game fish (except those from secret lots) and have level 10 in fishing (Mesolithic).

NEOLITHIC (AGRICULTURAL AGE) - SPECIFIC RULES

Choose the next heir after the Stone Age Sim completes the circle of life.

13 - Development of Agriculture

13.1 - Change the length of the seasons to 7 days by completing 1 year Sim, this will allow the development of agriculture and the creation of the Sim calendar in the future.

13.2 - The Sim remains nomadic, but can build simple shelters and spend more time on the same lot than in the Mesolithic. Suggestion: a simple square block with openings instead of doors and windows or just a hole in the floor. These shelters can be seasonal, that is, they can be used in a certain season and abandoned at the end of it until the same time in the next year.

13.3 - The heir can be a man or a woman.

13.4 - Your Heir Sim must have the Freelance Botanist aspiration and the “Super Green Thumb” reward trait to complete the Agricultural Age.

13.5 - Your Heir Sim must reach level 10 in Gardening skill.

13.6 - Complete the “Harvested Interest” achievement.

13.7 - Complete the base game's plant collection by collecting and grafting, except OFNI (Unidentified Fruit Object).

13.8 - Make a plantation with all the collectable plants in your world. It should not be an organized plantation. Just a bunch of plants that grow where you planted and can't be moved in construction mode.

13.9 - The harvest is for your own use. It cannot be sold.

13.10 - Plants with insects cannot be cared for and must die. No pesticides.

13.11 - It isn’t allowed to buy seeds by the Garden Planter Box. No buying on phone and computer too, please.

13.12 - Your Heir Sim must have Handiness Level 10 to purchase the Sales Table in the next Age.

13.13 - If your heir Sim dies without completing a specific task for this Age, the next Sim who takes over the Legacy must continue that task. The previous heir's skill progression does not count. If the heir dies with gardening level 9 and the new one only has 2, you will have all the skill progression effort again.

14 - Requirements to advance to the next Age (Early Simvilization):

14.1 - Complete the aspiration and life cycle of the Matriarch and her Mesolithic and Neolithic heirs.

14.2 - Complete the frog collection (Paleolithic).

14.3 - Catch all base game fish (except those from secret lots) and have level 10 in fishing (Mesolithic).

14.4 - If you have “The Sims 4 Horse Ranch” expansion pack, try taming a donkey.

Rules 14.2, 14.3 and 14.4 are equivalent to taming animals.

14.5 - Base game haverstables collection completed (Neolithic).

14.6 - Have level 10 in Handiness (Neolithic heir Sim only). It is equivalent to the technical skill of building a wheel.

15 - Expansions, Game Packs and Stuff Packs:

15.1 - The Sims 4 Seasons (essential) - Make it snow in the Paleolithic (Ice Age).

15.2 - The Sims 4 Get Together (essential) - Pack Leader Aspiration and bushes.

15.3 - The Sims 4 Cottage Living (optional) - “Simple life” batch challenge.

15.4 - The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle (optional) - Enable the “Roughhousing Encouraged” and “Free Love” Action Plans.

The teams forgetting their manager's birthday

Characters: Seijoh, Shiratorizawa, and Inarizaki

Warnings: none

Oh btw!! since the type of manager is not specified, I'll go with my default fem manager :D she's cute and sweet (like you, Anon-chan 😺😆💖) and the boys adore her a ton. She's also very capable, smart, and confident, and she loves being physical with the boys, which constantly flusters them!

Seijoh

The Seijoh boys would be so busy practicing for an upcoming match, they kinda forget everything that's happening around them.

Lots of focus. You smile fondly, because that's what makes them such a good team. Their ability to focus on their goals and eliminate all distractions.

Until one day, Yahaba is just scrolling through his phone's calendar when he sees “Manager Chan's birthday, 19th November.”

And he's just so shocked and guilty. He immediately calls the rest of the team and tells them what he just realized.

The team feels so guilty and disappointed in themselves. They're a day late to wish you, and they desperately want to make it up to you.

You're their precious manager after all, the one who bandages their injuries with a smile and who always gives them the motivation to do better.

How could they possibly forget such a precious human being's birthday?

That same day, they create a group chat excluding you, and begin to plan something special for you.

They break themselves up into teams with specific tasks of getting things ready for an impromptu birthday party for you.

Iwa-chan is in charge of ensuring everything runs smoothly, and he makes sure to do it with zeal, hoping to make it the best birthday ever for you, eventhough it's a bit late.

The next day, you walk into the gym, and it's absolutely quiet and dark. The boys aren't there yet, which is pretty odd, considering practice should've started a few minutes ago.

You stand in front of the gym and dial Oikawa's number, because he's always quick to respond to your calls, but the number goes straight to voicemail. You're confused, and a little curious as to where they are.

Suddenly, you feel someone's hands covering your eyes, and Oikawa's voice saying “y/n-chan, don't be scared. We have a surprise for you.”

You laugh, realisation washing over you that the boys probably planned something because they forgot it was your birthday yesterday, and follow Oikawa as he guides you inside.

When he finally uncovers your eyes, you see the boys holding a huge, slightly odd looking cake, lit with candles.

Oikawa hugs you from behind and you pull him closer to you, snuggling in his embrace.

You then blow out your candles and make a silent wish. I wish to always be by their side

Iwa-chan is already hitting Oikawa for hugging you before the rest, so you hug Iwa too, then Matsukawa, Hanamaki, Yahaba, Kunimi, and even Kyotani, albeit him being slightly rigid.

“thanks guys, this is an amazing surprise!” you say softly, as your eyes tear up. It's obvious that they made the cake themselves, and eventhough it wasn't perfect, your boys, made it for you.

Your heart squeezed as you cut slices for everyone, and handed it to them, as they sat on the bleachers to enjoy it.

You sit next to Yahaba and leaned on his shoulder. “Thanks for remembering” you said softly.

He blushed. “how did you know?” you explained that Kunimi told you, and he smiled at you and ruffled your hair.

“We're sorry for not remembering sooner, Y/n-san. Thanks for being the best manager ever” said Iwaizumi. He seemed to be nonchalant about it, but his eyes and smile betrayed him. He was fond of you, and genuinely glad that you enjoyed the small celebration they had prepared.

You smiled and kissed his cheek as acknowledgement, which caused him to blush and Oikawa to throw a small tantrum.

You laughed as you looked at them bantering with each other, Hanamaki and Matsukawa teasing Kyotani, and Yahaba and Kunimi next to you. You really did love these boys.

Shiratorizawa

So I'm pretty sure it's exam week, and these boys are just so studious and hardworking, they're totally immersing themselves in their studies and books.

Until it's their calculus exam and Tendou just suddenly remembers “Oh my God, it was Y/N's birthday two days ago!!” as his pencil flies across the room, much to the sensei's disapproval (haha, miracle boy is so cute)

He pulls the other third years aside after the exam, like Ushijima, and Semi, and tells them what he just remembers.

Ushijima is just stoic, but internally he's like "how could I forget? I never forget important dates like these? Is something wrong with me?" And Semi's just so sad he wants to scoop you in his arms right away.

Tendou then proposes the idea of taking you somewhere after school to surprise you, and they agree, and run off to tell the rest of the team.

Goshiki is just close to tears he hates that he forgot his favourite senpai's birthday, especially when you remembered his (and the entire team's) and never failed to make it a special day for them.

So after school ends, you're getting ready to go back home, when Semi just scoops you into his arms and carries you to the rest of the team.

You're not all that shocked, since Semi does this pretty often, and so you let him. “where are we going?” you ask, and he just casually answers “to celebrate the end of exams”

You laugh silently. They're definitely planning more than that, but you decide to humour them, and smile at the team when Semi lets you down gently.

“let's go have udon” says Shirabu with a too-big smile. You and the team walk to an udon shop near the school, and enter quietly.

Goshiki sits next you, and he looks like he wants to say something, but can't, as he bites his lip. Ushijima sits in front of you, and rest of the team take their places and begin ordering.

You notice Tendou talking to the shop owner intently, with Shirabu next to him. Ushijima knows that you might suspect something, so he tries getting your attention by asking you about your exams.

Suddenly, Tendou brings a cake to the table and team begins singing happy birthday for you. You smile happily and wait for them to finish before making a wish and blowing off the candles.

You smile happily at the team and their hearts grow warm, seeing you so happy like that.

“We're sorry for not remembering sooner, y/n-senpai” says Goshiki in a sad voice. Your heart tugs at seeing him so sad, so you ruffle his hair and assure him that exams are tough on everyone, and that it was better to celebrate it after they ended anyways.

You and the team eat the cake after having udon, and talk about the week together. They start reminiscing about memories with you, as they talk about their first impressions, and cute memories with a soft smile on their faces.

Tendou retells the story of how you first came to the team and how much you've grown ever since then.

At some point, Semi sits in your place whilst you've gone to the ladies room, and pulls you to his lap when you come back.

The team laughs when they see you desperately refusing, worried that you'll be too heavy, whilst Semi reassures you that you won't.

Goshiki adoringly smiles at you, and Semi pulls you closer to him. Tendou feeds you small pieces of strawberry left from the cake, as Shirabu records everything, excitedly typing in a caption on his social media.

Meanwhile, Ushijima is just carefully adding in a small reminder in his phone calendar, so he'll never forget your birthday in the future ever again.

Inarizaki

My sweet little fox babies! I think they would be excitedly counting down for your birthday, you're their precious manager-chan after all (and I can't bring myself to say they forgot 😅😭) when Atsumu suddenly sees a friend of yours post a "happy birthday y/n!!" on their Instagram story.

Atsumu immediately jumps on his brother's bed and wakes him up, whilst texting your friend. “Isn't y/n's birthday five days from now?”

Your friend replies. “no haha, it's today!” which cause the twins to desperately call Aran, Suna, Ginjima, and of course, captain Kita!

The boys are hurriedly awoken a few minutes after midnight, and absolutely frazzled! They had all planned something special, but now they would have to change the date, and some things (like the cake and venue) weren't ready so soon.

Osamu groggily got out of bed and began taking out eggs, butter, flour, and other baking ingredients. Eventhough it was extremely late, and he had a tiring day, nothing could compare to his love for you. And so, he started mixing the ingredients at one a.m.

Kita tried to remain calm, but internally freaks out. He and Suna are trying to brainstorm ideas of places they could take you to make your day enjoyable.

Atsumu was busy wrapping the gifts they had all got. He got way too many papercuts and had a bit of trouble, but it was for you, and the thought alone of you smiling was enough to motivate him.

Aran and Ginjima made their own preparations in their own homes for the next day, and Aran even facetimed Osamu to keep him company throughout the baking process.

They were determined to make your birthday a happy one, and genuinely wanted to let you know they loved and cared for you so much.

The next day, six terribly sleep deprived boys arrived at school, with the needed arrangements set. The cake was safely secured with Osamu, and Suna took the bag of gifts from Atsumu.

Kita went to go find you, and he saw you waiting by the entrance of school. “Y/n-san, let's go.” said Kita with a mysterious smile.

You were a bit confused. School was the other way and he was dragging you away from it, but you trusted Kita and followed him.

He led you to the rest of the team, and gently places his hand on your back. “Let's go, y/n-san. We're going to the beach.”

You were super confused. “but school?”. Suna gives you a sleepy smile. “Kita and me have already handled that. We told your teachers you'd be absent today, now c'mon.”

Atsumu gently holds your small hand in his and you guys walks to the subway. As you dig for your subway card in your pocket, the boys get seated. There's one less seat, so Atsumu pulls you to his lap, much to the rest of the team's disapproval.

They're all so jealous, Atsumu laughs silently, and pulls an oblivious you closer. Osamu just rolls his eyes, but internally seethes.

Two stops later, the team motions to exit, and Aran shyly comes closer to you, taking your hand this time. You smile at him and make your way to the small beach you sometimes spend time in, with the rest of the team.

Kita finds an empty picnic table and everyone sits down, placing the items they had brought with them down, and looking at you expectantly.

“Happy Birthday, y/n-chan.” they chorused together. Suna ruffled your hair from the right side of you, and Osamu begins lighting up the candles on your left.

You gratefully thank them for going to the trouble of bringing you here, the fresh beach air and breeze immediately putting you in a cheerier mood.

They then start singing you a happy birthday as you blush silently and blow the candles out, making a wish. I wish to be able to love these boys forever.

You lean over and kiss Osamu's cheek. He blushes red immediately. “Thank you for going to the trouble of baking this, Samu'” if only you knew, he thought silently, as flashbacks of him almost falling asleep in front of the oven came to mind.

Kita cuts the cake and gives you the biggest slice, much to your happiness. The boys all eat their cake and joke around about all the memories they've made with you.

“I can remember when y/n-chan just came. She was so small and sweet, Osamu said she reminded him of a macaroon” said Aran.

Kita fondly smiles as he gives you a pack off green tea from his grandmother.

Ginjima gives you the gifts the entire team had picked and you begin tearing up, much to everyone's dismay. You're just so grateful to have them.

Suddenly Atsumu leans over and swipes frosting from the cake on your face. The mood is once again lifted, as Suna takes a ton of pictures, and contributes to the frosting on your face too.

“hey that's enough now” says Kita. He looks firm, but his eyes betray him. The slight sparkle shows that he thinks it adorably hilarious how the boys are annoying you.

The water seems to be calling you, so you pull Suna to the shore and lean down to the water.

The rest of the day is just filled with the boys and you doing random things by the beach, like eating popsicles, and finding seashells. You're unable to actually get into the water, due to your school uniforms, but seeing an excited you gush over the seashells and smile happily over ice cream is enough for the boys.

At the end of the day, you and the team watch the sunset together, and swear to work extra hard for the upcoming nationals.

As they see you looking up at the sunset adoringly, their hearts squeeze in their chest, so grateful to be a part of your life.

Summertime Happiness

(OM) Boys (excluding Simeon, Solomon) x GN!Reader

Synopsis: the beach episode

Note: it’s summer, and I miss the beach. I really want to go so I projected it here. I will say this is a part one bc I plan on writing smut for part two and you get to pick which ending you want. For example, you could pick to spend the night with Diavolo or you could choose Mammon. I’m challenging myself to write for each character so we’ll see how that goes.

“Beach! beach! Beach!” Mammon, Asmo, and Levi were chanting in the back of the car.

“Guys, we’re not even halfway there.” You groaned. They had been like that ever since you got to the human world. They then started squabbling about what to do. Mammon then tried to steal Levi’s tablet. Asmo seemed to ignore them completely.

“This would be our first human world beach! Of course, we’re excited. Just think of all the photos I could post.” Asmo was gleeful, the main person who suggested this trip.

“Well can you guys keep it down. I’ll turn this car around if you don’t!” They shut up, leaving you able to concentrate on the road, “You guys are lucky that Lucifer is in the other car.”

“I didn’t know you could drive MC.” Satan was in the front seat next to you.

“Of course! I’ve been driving since I was 16.”

“I’m sure you could teach Mammon how to drive safer.”

“Oi! Quit insulting me!”

“Honestly, why couldn’t Belphie be in my car. He’d just sleep.” You grumbled under your breath.

“I still don’t understand why Diavolo would want to come here when he has a beach of his own. Besides the beach is stupid.” Satan was now complaining. The choir in the back started up again, and you could feel the headache develop.

Instead of listening to them, you turned the music up to drown out the noise they were making.

That’s when Barbatos gave you a call. You answered it hands free, “hello?”

“MC, it seems the young lord would like to visit the nearest rest stop. He wants to see a human world gift shop.”

“There will be gift shops at the beach!”

“You don’t understand MC! I heard rest stop gift shops offer a wide variety of trinkets that the state offers.” Diavolo sounded too excited for you to say no.

“Also, Beel ran out of food, and we don’t want him to rampage in the car.” Lucifer sounded annoyed, probably because he got put in the back seat since Barbatos was driving.

“I’m hungry…” you could practically hear Beel’s stomach growl from the backseat as well.

“I suppose we need to fill the cars up with gas as well. There should be a rest stop at the next exit.”

“Understood. We’ll follow you to the rest stop of your choice.” Barbatos hung up. The music resumed. Hopefully, they didn’t hear the commotion from the back of your car.

You pulled off the next exit to arrive at a big gas station/truck stop. Parking your car at a pump, the others got out of the car to stretch their legs.

“You guys go ahead and get some snacks or drinks. Make sure to get me one too. The others should show up shortly.”

They walked into the shop thankfully not arguing. Barbatos shortly pulled in at the pump opposite of your car.

They also got out, and Diavolo practically ran to the shop with Beel following behind him.

“Lucifer, please don’t let them get into any trouble. That’s the last thing we need.” He nodded already looking annoyed. Upon inspecting their car, you could see Belphie peacefully sleeping in the back seat.

Barbatos walked over with a map consulting you on the best route to the beach. Their D.D.Ds didn’t have human world GPS, and of course, they didn’t have any human world phones to access it (and you weren’t planning on buying a new phone.) With a pen, you highlighted the route after consulting your GPS. You knew that Barbatos wouldn’t get lost behind you, but it was nice having this assurance.

Barbatos then turned around and excused himself from your discussion, heading towards the gas station shop. You tended to both of the cars, making sure that they were filled up and ready to go.

When you saw all of them come back to the car, Mammon was thrown over Barbatos’s shoulder.

“Put me down!”

“I’m sorry MC, but Mammon will be riding with us now.” You didn’t even want to know. Beel now was in your car, which solved part of the headache that was going on.

Lucifer simply texted you:

You knew that Mammon was going to be harshly punished in Barbatos’s car which he deserved. The last thing y’all needed was for the cops to come and arrest Mammon.

You noticed how many bags of souvenirs Diavolo was putting in the back of the car. It looked like he swept the store clean of everything. Same with Beel but with food.

“Beel, please make sure to not get food everywhere in my car. My parents would kill me if I ruined their seats.” He nodded and kept chowing down on the bag of chips he got.

Satan just shook his head and handed you a granola bar and a soda. Thankfully someone remembered to get what you asked for.

You all loaded the cars back up and set off once more. This time your car was quieter, and you were so thankful for that on the rest of the way to the beach.

“Finally! We’re here!” Asmo exclaimed when you parked the car at the condo y’all would be spending time at. Barbatos shortly pulled in next to you.

They got out of the car and met up with you, “We’ll need rolling carts for all of our luggage and supplies. They should be in the lobby’s office.”

Lucifer and Barbatos left to go fetch them and check in to the condo for you.

It was surprisingly easy to get all of the suitcases, beach supplies, and coolers up to the room. You made sure to get a big condo so everyone could get their own room (saved yourself the headache of who will be rooming with who.)

“Alright everyone, time to set up the ground rules!” You gathered everyone to the common room, “Make sure you all remember your human world names. Please do not stray too far from the others. We do have the beach for ourselves here, but the public beach isn’t too far from here. Please be careful to not wander that way. We have an itinerary for dinner and free times. Please do try to behave yourselves over the week we are here. Other than that, we’ll have fun!”

They all agreed and left to go unpack their stuff.

“I really hope we can get through this without any trouble. We’re spending too much money being here instead of being in Devildom.”

The sand was nice and warm. The sunlight danced over the waves, making the ocean sparkle. Lucifer and Barbatos already got the umbrellas and beach chairs prepared, so all the rest had to do was get into swimsuits.

Running out to settle down on a chair basking in the sunlight was your first objective.

“MC, you need to apply sunscreen before you sit out in the sun.” Barbatos walked over with the spray on sunscreen.

“Right. I forgot.”

“MC, I can help you put on your sunscreen!” Asmo ran over to you, “Then you can rub it all over my body.”

“Oi! If anyone is going to rub sunscreen on them, it’s going to be me. I’m their first so I have that right!” Mammon was quick to swoop in and grab the bottle out of Asmo’s hand.

“You can’t use that excuse every time. Especially since you’ll never admit how you feel.” Satan was the next one to take the bottle.

“I-I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Oh, you know you’re a simp.” Levi came up to y’all, “O-Of course I will apply sunscreen on you MC. Who am I kidding you’ll never pick me.” You could hear every mumble under Levi’s breath.

“What on earth are you all doing?” It was Lucifer, “they are perfectly capable of putting sunscreen on themselves.”

“But their back! They couldn’t possible read that part,” Asmo flirted, “and I’m the perfect person.”

Lucifer rolled his eyes and took the bottle out of Satan’s hands, “I’ll put on your sunscreen MC”

“No fair! How come you get to do it?” They started to whine. Honestly at this point you didn’t care who put it on you.

“Thank you, Lucifer,” you turned your back towards him so he could apply the lotion on you. Feeling his hand run up and down your skin did feel nice.

The others continued to bitch at Lucifer about it.

“Haha! Your brothers are lively as always.” Diavolo stood next to Lucifer, who only sighed at his comment.

“I’m afraid so.”

Now that everyone was prepared, Mammon, Asmo, Levi, and Beel ran towards the water. Belphie was already asleep on a beach chair. Satan sat next to him with a book in hand. Diavolo was forcing Lucifer to build a sandcastle with him, while Barbatos helped by carrying buckets of ocean water.

A smile grew on your face as you ran towards the ocean yourself with a floaty, finally able to relax and play with everyone there.

When entering the nice warm water, you’re immediately dunked in. Rising back up,

“Mammon! You ass!” You move your hair out of your face.

“It’s ok MC, he did the same to me. He has a death wish,” Asmo looked furious. Every time he’s swim close to Mammon, he would simply swim away.

“Didn’t peg you as a good swimmer.”

“The great Mammon can do many things!” His laughter was infectious, and your anger fizzled out as you see the brothers chasing each other.

“Ugh, what normies.”

“What did you expect to do out here Levi?”

“Well you see I saw in this anime called A Trip to the Beach turns into a romance story and-“

“Forget I asked. I’m surprised that Mammon didn’t dunk you.”

“The water doesn’t scare me.”

“Makes sense. You do kind of control water. I guess this would be the best place to summon Lotan, besides the fact this is a human world beach.”

“Hahaha. I have no plans of doing that. My Ruri-Chan towel and bag would get soaked, and I don’t want that.”

“Right…”

You then heard eating sounds in your ear. Turning around, you see Beel mouth full of fish, “You can’t just eat the marine life here!”

“But I was hungry…”

“Then go to shore and grab some of the food we brought down here!”

Beel took you up on that offer as soon as he finished devouring the fish he caught with his bare hands. You just prayed he left something for the rest of you, lest you have to go back to the condo and get more.

Mammon quickly swam back and hid behind your back, practically using you as a shield.

“Don’t use MC to protect you!” Asmo was coming in hot. You dunked yourself under the water for Asmo to finally catch Mammon and push his head in the water.

Upon both of you returning to the surface, you shook your head to get the salt water out of your ears.

“You pushed too hard Asmo!” Mammon bitched.

“You brought this upon yourself!”

“Can you both shut up? I’m trying to fantasize about Ruri-Chan.”

“Stay out of this otaku!” They both shouted at the same time. Levi clammed up.

“Of course, they think I’m some weird gross shut in…”

“Oh Levi, that’s not true. Just let those two idiots fight and dunk each other under water. Let’s go back to shore and hunt for seashells!” He felt better from your words. Grabbing the floatie that seemed to be abandoned (you’re glad it didn’t float away into the sea), you both swam back and went to dry yourselves off.

Beel was devouring all of the food in the coolers you brought.

“Satan! Why didn’t you restrain him?”

“Huh, it’s not my job to keep Beel from eating everything. That’s Belphie’s.” You glanced to see that he was asleep basking in the summer sun.

“Of course.” You turned your attention back to Satan, “why don’t you come with Levi and I to hunt for seashells?”

“No.” It was immediate and caught you off guard, “I’m at the climax of this book, and I’ll do beach stuff when I’m done. Except go into the water.”

“Still don’t get it, but whatever.”

You grabbed the necessary supplies to gather seashells, and you made your way back to the shoreline with Levi by your side.

“Let’s see if we can find one that’s not broken! I’d love to get to a nice cone shaped one” Levi cheered up.

So far, you’ve only found broken sand dollars and pieces of broken corral, “well this isn’t great.”

“Oi! Why you hogging MC all to yourself?” Mammon always knew how to ruin a moment.

“Hey, Mammon~”

“Y-yeah?”

“You want a dollar?”

“Yes! Giving money to me is an investment-“

You simply placed a sand dollar in his hand causing Levi to practically die, howling about how you got him good.

Mammon just stood there looking like he could turn to dust at any moment. You couldn’t help but laugh.

Satisfied with your haul, you and Levi placed the bucket of shells back at the beach chairs.

“Still reading Satan?”

“Yes, and it’s getting good so leave me alone.” You roll your eyes in response. Levi said he would chill with Satan in the shade, something about getting his daily log on bonuses.

Shrugging, you turn on the group you hadn’t visited yet.

“Lucifer! Diavolo! How’s the sandcastle coming?”

“Well…I tried making a sand sculpture of Lucifer, but it doesn’t look anything like him.” Diavolo pouted. Upon looking at the pile of sand, you tried to hold back your laughter. If this was supposed to be Lucifer, then Asmo should really give him a makeover.

“The important thing is you tried Diavolo,” Lucifer tried to hide his annoyance, but of course he was bad at that (he would never admit it though.)

“Maybe we should take a break, my lord.”

“I guess so.” You felt bad and patted Diavolo on the back.

“You’ll get it right the next time you do it. Here why don’t I show you something humans do on the beach!”

Diavolo perked up, and the three of them followed you back to the shaded umbrella where their beach chairs were. You sauntered off and grabbed four bottles of beer and a bag of limes you cut up earlier (thankful that Beel didn’t eat them.)

You handed them the beer as well as a bottle opener, “Ok, so typically on the beach with this brand of beer, you push a lime into the neck of the bottle. It helps add flavor to the drink of the summer here.”

You demonstrated for them, even though Barbatos was a step ahead of you anyway. Diavolo looked at it all with wonder, taking a sip after preparing it, “Fascinating! Is this really what humans do?”

“Some. I like to do it when I go to the beach. It’s nice and relaxing. Plus, the advertising says to do this.”

“I do have to say, it does add a little aromatic flavor. However, I’ll have to decline drinking more than I already have.” Barbatos handed the bottle back to you. Even though you knew he had his reasons, it bummed you out a little.

“Well Lucifer! What do you think?” Diavolo turned towards his friend who was happily drinking his.

“Honestly, I needed some sort of break after being in the sun for so long.”

“Well, I’m glad I was able to help.” Lucifer smiled at your response, praising you about how you’re always a help to everyone.

You sat down next to them on the sand and just took in the calmness of the beach air, the smell of salty sea water filling your nose. It was enjoyable to have one moment of relaxation.

“Hey MC! Belphie’s awake! Help us throw him into the ocean!” You could hear Mammon from the other side of the beach.

“Your brothers are always so exciting, Lucifer,” Diavolo was laughing and was waiting for Lucifer to laugh along with him.

“More like a headache…”

“I’ll go over there so they don’t bother you three. Remember to get the relaxation you need. The three of you work way too hard, you deserve a break. That goes for you to Barbatos! You don’t have to be a butler here.”

He laughed at your comment, “So noted.”

Satisfied, you ran back over to the others.

“If you like to live, you’ll let go of me” Belphie was trying to fight, but with Mammon, Asmo, and Levi together, he didn’t stand a chance.

“Same for you Beel! Put me down so I can finish my book!”

“Nah, you can finish your book later. We’re at the beach. You should have fun with us!” Mammon had a death wish. They managed to pull Belphie and Satan into the water. Belphie at this point had already given up.

Satan, however, was like trying to bathe a cat. Extremely unhappy about it. He screamed profanities and was about to go apeshit, until you were by his side and holding his hand.

“It’s ok Satan. They just want you to have fun.” He huffed in response with a hint of blush developing on his face.

Finally, all of you were in the ocean, splashing water at each other, seeing who could hold their breath the longest, and float around letting the water massage your worries away.

The fun eventually was coming to a close. The sun started to set, and everyone went to pack everything up.

“Hold on!”

They turned to look at you who has a mischievous look on your face, holding up sparklers in their face, “They’re a lot of fun to have on the beach too.”

Everyone was about to decline until, “Ohhhh, that sounds like fun. I’ll do it with you MC.”

Diavolo started to take sparklers from your hand and went to get a lighter.

“Well, I guess I can do it too.” Mammon said.

“It does sound like fun. Plus, I can take all sorts of photos to post when we get back to Devildom.” Asmo ran to be by your side.

“Don’t eat the sparklers Beel,” Belphie said walking over with his twin.

“W-well it’s a normie thing to do, but if MC wants to do it then I will too.” Levi took a sparkler from the packet.

“As long as Lucifer isn’t going to participate then I will too.” Satan said.

“Too bad because Lucifer has to do this too!” Your words sounded very adamant, leaving Satan with no other choice.

Lucifer sighed but then smiled, “As long as your happy MC and Diavolo.”

You squealed in happiness. As you lit the sparklers, everyone waved them around. Asmo took photos of everyone with theirs. Mammon tried writing words (they didn’t look good.) The rest were happy to chase each other with Diavolo and Lucifer standing on the side. Diavolo was mesmerized by the sparks shooting out, and Lucifer couldn’t help but laugh with him.

Barbatos filmed the entire thing for everyone to remember later. One of the best days ever.

After showering, you noticed the night was still young. Everyone was kind of doing their own thing now.

You didn’t want the night to end too soon. Hitting up the town seemed like a good idea.

You sat thinking of who you should bring with you.

okay, let’s start with the fact that he’s a single dad

that did not stop him from raising you right

navy brat

after a little bit of instability during his years of service, he got a job as a raptor trainer

so you see, it wasn’t a typical childhood

you two moved to isla nublar so he could begin his work

“woah, that’s a dinosaur?”

“yeah, kiddo, she’s a velociraptor”

you were a bit older when you met the dinosaurs, so owen trusted you to be around them

“if you respect them, they’ll respect you”

blue took a liking to you pretty quick!!!

owen thought it was adorable the way you got along with the raptors

you were sort of like a co-trainer

living in that lil trailer

“this place is too small”

“quit your complaining and eat your mac and cheese”

your dad taught you how to fix cars and motorcycles

you did a bang-up job

watching tv with owen all the damn time

although your father did trust you to take care of yourself, even in a situation like this, he still was extremely worried for your safety

this was actually positively the worst day of your life

okay, it took a long while to catch up to claire’s nephews

“jesus, claire, you’re nephews sure know how to move. this is getting exhausting”

you didn’t find them until the......pterodactyls got loose

finally finding those damn kids

claire saved the day and all three of you witnessed their little display of pda amidst chaos

your dad finally caved and agreed to use the raptors to find the indominus rex

and you got to prove your badassery out there

“you sure you’re up for this mission, y/n? you know you can stay with claire and the boys if you want”

okay i cant lie, you and your dad riding motorcycles side-by-side among velociraptors was probably the coolest thing you’ll ever get to do

but they, uh, kind of turned on you and next thing you know, you were speeding after the ambulance claire was driving

zach and gray were relieved to see you

you gave ‘em a little wave

“do you think we’ll ever be that cool?”

“gray, not now”

“i’m gonna take that as a ‘no’”

CLAIRE LET OUT THE MOTHERFUCKING T-REX

it was an Experience(tm)

you were split up from your dad and the boys while she was doing that

so you were deathly worried

running over there when it was safe

“is everyone alright?”

“we’re fine, y/n” -zach

“are you okay?” -dad

“yeah, i think so”

this final battle between the dinosaurs was a bit shocking to watch, but it was hard to keep your eyes off

it all wrapped up and the dinos were let loose

and......the park got closed down

you and your dad were unemployed effective immediately

but your dad and claire finally got together

“you guys are sweet but are we all going to fit in that little camper?”

“we’ll make it work”

they did for a while

but there was a lot if arguing

your dad wanted to reside in the camper forever, claire didn’t, they broke up, you stayed with your dad to help him out during hard times, he decided to build a cabin

he claims he was not affected by the breakup but you knew better

you and your dad had an unbreakable bond, you’d been through so much together

it was only a matter of time before the world had something new in store for you and dad

More on the Fan Fic issue

I have a few more asks about the issue raised the other day, some of which are long and go into detail on the 'wars' that have been happening on Twitter and AO3.

Sorry for grouping these but I wanted to put it all under a cut because these are long, and also in case people don't want to dig into these issues (which would be understandable).

Not sure we can be so certain about that last part, Anon (I think for a lot of people GG and DD are just characters in a smutty story they have in their heads), but I agree about the term being popular regardless of the type of fans people are.

From what I can see the BJYX term seems to be used 80-90% umbrella, 10-20% dynamic in both international and c-social media (for every 10 times you see the term used, only one or two of those usages - probably less - are referring to a dynamic). This is my totally unscientific estimation, but I think even 10-20% dynamic is being generous. The number of people who are fixated on a sexual dynamic aren't nearly as large as they'd like to believe.

zsww/lsfy fans have become an outnumbered circle who try their best to create exclusive events to avoid the “is bjyx a catch-all term” discourse, but never seem to gain as much traction as gdgdbaby (who has a sizeable following) or those who host bjyx-only events (who also have sizeable followings).

meanwhile the dynamic war has only become more and more hostile and bjyx is clearly the more populated group… ao3 is simply a battlegrounds, if i may dramatize the situation a little for the sake of humor, and the promptfests are a reaction to this irritating t/b discourse that has made bxg twitter completely inhospitable for me…and lots of other fans too.

(i’ve also noticed a huge reinforcement as of recently where ppl will call gg laopo, a milf, an omega, etc even outside of rpf (i.e. posting pictures of him at events and saying he looks pregnant or he’s going into heat) and it’s just… uncomfortable.)

It's sad to hear how fucked up everything has become, but I'm not even remotely surprised. Toxicity leads to toxicity, and the whole idea of dividing up a RP fandom by sex position was misguided from the outset - no matter why it was done or how good the intentions might have been.

And yes, like I said, these people aren't just framing things this way for fan fic. This is how they talk about IRL GGDD.

I had written a lengthy essay here about homophobia in the fandom but deleted it all. Perhaps I'll post it separately at some later point. Suffice it to say that this stuff creates a climate that's often hostile for queer people. So much of it is deeply homophobic, whether people are aware of it or not.

It's really sad to hear about gdgdbaby being mistreated in any way. Anyone who steps up and sticks their neck out to help organize and coordinate activities that benefit a broader group of people should be celebrated and supported, not run out of town by an angry mob.

I've read some of her stories and even have one or two on my rec list. And here's someone who is not only writing good works, but also supporting others to write more good works. Such a shame.

Hello Mr. RBS! I think I can chime in a bit about the fanfic topic as I’ve watched this all unravel on twitter (where a majority of authors/readers are). I apologize if this gets long but it’s been something that’s also been on my mind.

I want to preface this by saying that I’m not a fan of the distinctions of dynamics as, like you said, the supposed line between real life and fanfic is long gone, so I’m not trying to be biased against one group over another.

Short answer to the question of, “is this retaliation?” : I do believe it is. (From here onwards I’ll be using bjyx as the dynamic term just for the ease of simplicity.) To understand why, I’ll have to explain with a bit of background info. On twitter, I’d say that there’s a quite large divide between bjyx and zsww/lsfy. That itself isn’t really a problem because people are free to like what they like and associate with whoever.

However there is a big problem where bjyx people are not just bjyx but also anti-zsww/lsfy. To the point where I’ve seen people say that they feel physically ill when they accidentally read zsww. I don’t think this type of behavior should exist in any dynamic bc in the end GGDD are real people with a real relationship behind this content and it’s just a gross fetishization at that point.

With all this happening, zsww/lsfy people have gotten more outspoken on how GG is often portrayed in those types of scenarios, mainly the over-feminization of him, bc it’s not just done in the context of fanfic but regular discussion of GGDD at this point. This tension between the dynamics kind of boiled over when the pregnant xz fest was announced, as you can take a guess at how that went over with zsww/lsfy people. lol.

But around that same time, another zsww/lsfy event was announced (I’m not sure if it’s the one anon was talking about) but the creator of the event suddenly got a ton of backlash for excluding bjyx, with the reasoning that bjyx is technically a part of lsfy. But the event was done to highlight zsww/lsfy (as all specific events are) bc the community and content for these dynamics are much less than bjyx.

Which is how we come back to the starting point of, is all this recent bjyx stuff retaliatory. I believe so bc the events (preg fest, dark event) are very specific prompts that target exactly what zsww/lsfy people have been outspoken against.

As to the point anon made about trying to drown out the tags, keep in mind that zsww/lsfy content is very minimal compared to bjyx and has only just recently started to gain more traction. I think most people would love to just peacefully exist in their own circles but I don’t see this problem between dynamics disappearing anytime soon.

What a mess.

I have absolutely nothing useful to say here about the fandom on AO3 and how it's managed by community members, but I do think it's unfortunate that people choose to be war-like rather than make space for diverse voices, and I think it's a real shame that some people have been essentially run out of the fandom because of this garbage.

Thanks for giving some context for how/why the major shift in tone of fan fic lately. I had no idea any of this was going on.

I urge people to work hard to give space for all voices and perspectives, and not just the ones they favor. I'd also urge people to reflect on how their thoughts, behavior and actions in the fandom might affect queer people in the fandom.

As always, we have no control over what other people do, say or think. All we have any control over is how we respond to what other people do, say or think. Hopefully we'll chose the path of peace and try to avoid fan wars or fights that only ruin the experience for everyone.

I guess one thing I'd ask any of the Anons who have written me about this issue - or anyone who has thoughts about it - is, what can we as readers/fans who care about diversity of voices and perspectives do to support that here and on AO3, without getting involved in any kind of war?

December Prompt

1) I got to NCT (specifically WayV) from SuperM just this summer. Both Lucas’ and Ten’s visuals caught my attention. I ended up reading LuTen fic which led to me stanning all of WayV because 1) it’s hard to read fics when you only know 2/7+ people and 2) I didn’t get what LuTen shippers were basing the ship off of so I watched a bunch of WayV content to try and figure it out.

2) The last person who’s name/face I learned (excluding Shotaro/Sungchan because I didn’t even know they existed for quite a while) was probably Taeil, Jaehyun, or Jaemin, but I couldn’t say which. I think they might just have some of the least distinctive facial features for me?

3) I’m not exactly into JaeDo, but I ended up on this blog bc of DoTae. When WayV’s comeback got interrupted by Lucas’s scandal, I spent some time learning about other NCT units. I got interested in Doyoung and Taeyong independently but simultaneously and ended up watching ship vids to learn more about both of them at once. The videos quickly convinced me that they had a genuine, close relationship but ship videos tend to read into things too much imo so I wanted to learn about how DoTae were around other people. In my search for content Jaehyun’s name came up and I ended up here. I’ve stayed because I think it’s pretty interesting and I like that you don’t take everything at face value and also remember that PR is a thing. I follow JaeDo I guess, but I’m not a JaeDo shipper.

4) This is my first time meeting either of them and I like Shotaro a lot, but am indifferent about Sungchan. It’s probably because Shotaro is so happy and outgoing and therefore easily likeable while Sungchan seems a lot more reserved. I also like Shotaro’s voice quite a bit.

You did with DoTae what I did with JaeDo, heh. I also decided to watch ship videos as a quick way to get to know both at the same time... and now I'm here.

I've noticed that Jaehyun is hard to remember for many.

With TaeDo, aside from them being a couple, there is no "reading too much". They are the way they show their relationship. Even if it is used sometimes for distraction/PR. Watch their vlives for two.

Synopsis: You and Draco are both purebloods and arranged to marry, but you’re are already dating and in the 7th year, you find out you’re pregnant.

A/N: sorry this took so long! also, im thinking of making a new account and transferring my work bc currently this is a side-blog and i can’t answer your sweet comments. :( ALSO! There is no Voldemort, war, or anything from Deathly Hallows in here!

Your seventh year was probably one of the roughest years of your life. With the whole figuring out your future, passing your courses, making sure you keep in touch with friends, so forth.

When you started dating Draco in fifth year, things seemed as though they couldn’t go downhill. The two of you were inseparable and your love grew more and more as months went by. Your friends in Slytherin practically adored you guys.

Pansy called you two the ‘Hogwarts dream team’ and even Blaise was fond of the two of you. Crabbe and Goyle were thrilled that Draco wasn’t shoving them around like they were his slaves anymore, so they came around pretty quickly. All in all, everyone had won. First years weren’t veering away from him in fear of being taunted, and you finally got your parents off your back about finding the perfect pureblood match for you.

Luckily for you, your parents completely adored the Malfoy family (and their status) so over the summer, they had agreed to arrange your marriage to Draco.. You were getting married in two summers, so as long as the two of you stuck by each others’ sides, there shouldn’t be an issue.

But, unluckily, you had hoped too soon.

That’s how you ended up pacing back and forth in Professor Snape’s office with tears cascading down your cheeks at five o’clock on a Friday morning. You hadn’t been able to sleep at all last night because right before going to bed, you had checked your personal agenda and realized you were nearly two weeks late. You were always pretty regular, so this could only mean a few things.

You had really hoped it wasn’t the one thing you were thinking, but with your luck, it probably was.

About a month back, you and Draco had stayed back in the Slytherin dorms by yourself during supper hour since you had to work on an assignment, and the two of you had ended up in his bed tangled in the sheets not long after that. So, naturally, when you realized you were two weeks late, your mind swung back to that night immediately.

“Will you stop walking around in circles?” Snape snapped, scavenging through the shelves in his office for the one thing he probably never thought he needed.

“Sorry, Professor,” your voice came out shaky as you stopped in your tracks, looking over at him with wide, fear-filled eyes. You raised your hand, biting at your fingernails to keep your mind off of the thumping of your heart against your ribcage.

Sure, Snape had been quite agitated by your rude awakening at nearly four thirty in the morning, but he seemed to be better now as he cursed at every tiny bottle that fell over. As head of Slytherin house, he knew he had to be there for the students at any hour they needed him, no matter how much he hated it.

“Alright, uh, here,” he handed you a tiny box, inside it was the pregnancy stick. Despite housing some of the most powerful witches and wizards in the world, Hogwarts still kept Muggle pregnancy tests.

He tried avoiding your eyes as he gave it to you. You’d probably be feeling embarrassed if it wasn’t for the swarm of nerves in your stomach.

“T-Thanks, Professor,” you nodded at him and rushed out of his office. You bolted down to the Slytherin common room, sneaking in as quietly as possible and into the bathroom.

Shutting the stall quickly and quietly, you took the tiny stick out of the box with shaky hands and sat down on the toilet, trying your hardest to control your breathing. Not very successfully though, as you needed to remind yourself to actually exhale every now and then.

Maybe it’ll be negative, the naive side of your mind taunted you as you started doing your business, shutting your eyes to avoid seeing what it would say even though you knew you’d have to wait a few minutes.

As you finished, you placed the stick down on the back of the toilet, and waited.

And waited.

And... waited.

Finally, after what felt like three hours — but was only three minutes — you picked up the stick, only to nearly drop it again.

Positive.

“Holy shit,” you muttered, placing the stick down on the back of the toilet and leaning against the wall, suddenly feeling like you wanted to cry, scream and vomit all at once.

Why?

You screwed your eyes shut, trying so hard to hold back the tears. You were only seventeen. You still had nearly six months left at Hogwarts. You were so young, what were your parents going to say? What was Draco going to say?

Holy shit, Draco.

There was no way in hell Draco was ready to have a kid. If you were certain of anything, it was that. Sure, you two had spoken about kids, but he had never really mentioned actually wanting to have any. Especially not at this young age.

You leaned your back against the wall of the stall, sliding down and clutching your knees to your chest. You leaned your forehead against them, cursing yourself for not being safe enough. Yes, you and Draco had used just about every safe measure there was, but they were never one hundred percent effective.

You let the tears flow freely by now, not even bothering to try silencing your sobs as they echoed dully around the bathroom. This was the worst way to spend your last year.

You placed a hand on your lower belly, knowing nothing had really started to show or swell yet, but within a few months, it would definitely be visible. You tried not to think about what other students would say about you, what the Professors would think of you, or how Draco would react, but it was nearly impossible not to.

A forceful knock sounded at the door to the bathroom and Snape’s dull voice came flowing in, “Miss Y/L/N, I’m going to guess by the fact that you’re still in there that this isn’t the result you wanted. Come to my office.”

You wiped your tears with your sweater, wiping off the pregnancy test with toilet paper and placing it in your pocket. Not that you wanted to, but Draco would probably assume this was a prank and you needed proof.

You ducked your head and walked out of the bathroom, not even bothering to look at yourself in the mirror. Snape stood outside, arms behind his back, and hair hanging in his face.

“Come,” he took off down the hall and turned into his office. You followed closely behind, not wanting to be seen by anyone, even though it was still five in the morning and no one was up at this hour, but you were ashamed enough as it was.

“Sit,” he pointed to a moth-eaten leather chair in the corner and you walked over to it, sitting down gently and looking up at him, “Now, I don’t think I need to tell you how reckless you’ve been, so I shall skip that part.”

You weren’t sure why you expected him to be somewhat comforting, but the judgment and disappointment in his voice stung.

“Now, I have this little bottle here,” he shoved a tiny, tear-shaped bottle into your hand, “Take a drop of this every morning in your pumpkin juice, or whatever beverage you wish to have, and it will help with nausea, cramping and.... irregular moodswings.”

You nodded, gripping the bottle with your sweaty hands and placed it in your lap, “Do I, uh, stay? Or am I expelled?”

Snape sighed, sitting across from you and intertwining his hands on his lap, his face a tell-tale sign he was very uncomfortable with the conversation, “You are not expelled, but you will indeed be asked to exclude yourself from certain activities.”

“How do I tell Draco?” you found yourself asking, regretting it once you knew you had overstepped your boundaries.

He held back an eye roll, “That is none of my concern.”

“Right, sorry,” you mumbled, fumbling with the bottle he had given you moments before.

“Now,” he spoke up again, “I will need to alert Dumbledore, along with the Heads of Houses, but please try to keep this as secret as you can for the time being. We don’t need rumours and whispers flying amuck, what with all the chaos that seventh year brings already.”

You nodded again, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear and feeling your breathing return to normal, “Thank you, Professor. I should probably go tell Draco.”

“Probably.”

You stood up off the chair, avoiding eye contact once more, but right as you were about to walk out of the room, his voice cut you off.

“As Head of Slytherin house, it is my responsibility to attend to the needs of my students,” he spoke almost regretfully, “So if ever you need assistance... don’t be shy. However, I am not here for you to wake up at three in the morning because you are having trouble sleeping, do you understand?”

“Yes, sir,” you smiled at him, “I’ll avoid waking you up as much as I can.”

He nodded at you and waved his hand, motioning that you were free to go. You walked back to the common room, legs shaky and the bottle clutched tightly in your hand. You stepped quietly through the entrance and let out a sigh, bracing yourself for what was going to come.

You couldn’t overthink it too much or you’d never end up telling him, so you had to just go up and do it.

You walked up the stairs to the dorms and knocked on Draco’s door, opening it slightly to make sure you hadn’t woken up anyone else in the room. You peeked your head in, noticing that no one was awake.

Tiptoeing in, you passed Crabbe, then Goyle — who was snoring so loudly you didn’t have to worry about the creaking floor — and reached Draco’s bed. You placed your hand on his head, trying your best to avoid startling him and waking up everyone else.

“Hm?” he mumbled, pulling the blankets up higher, “I didn’t. It’s only blue...”

“Draco!” you hissed quietly, poking him in the cheek. His habit of sleeptalking made it hard for you to get him to wake up.

His eyes fluttered open slowly, and he scanned you up and down with a confused expression, “Y/N? It’s not even six o’clock, what’s wrong?”

You felt so bad, you knew you were about to completely change his world and he had no idea. You watched him for a good moment, tuning out what he was saying.

“Huh? Oh, right, we need to talk, come downstairs,” your voice shook once more, but you didn’t let him question you as you walked out of the room and down the stairs.

Your heart was beating so fast you thought you might need to go see Madam Pomfrey and check for signs of a heart attack. You sat down on the velvet couch, staring into the flames of the fireplace and trying to calm yourself down.

Eventually, Draco’s quiet footsteps came down and he appeared at your side, sitting next to you on the couch.

“You’re worrying me,” he admitted, running a hand through his messy morning hair, “You’re never up before eight. This has to be serious.”

“It is,” you looked over at him, wanting so badly to tell him and have it be a prank, but the reality of it was washing over you in waves of guilt.

“Tell me,” he whispered, tucking a stand of hair behind your ear and gazing into your eyes with such intensity, you felt a tear slide down your face.

“Draco, I’m pregnant,” you mumbled, keeping your eyes locked on his.

The colour completely drained from his face, causing him to become paler than usual, until a small smile formed on his lips, “Good one.”

“I’m not joking, Draco,” you sighed, taking the pregnancy test out and holding it in front of his face, “I’m as serious as Sirius.”

“Wait—,” he looked down at the stick, eyes wide, “This is for real? You’re actually pregnant?”

You nodded, looking down at your lap. You heard him let out a long, exhausted sigh, and then he leaned back against the couch, muttering to himself about ‘stupid condoms.’

“Well, then, I’ll be by your side and I’ll take care of you every step of the way,” he placed a cold finger under your chin, tilting your head up to face him.

Your breath hitched in your throat and you could feel more tears threatening to fall, “Why aren’t you reacting more... I don’t know — panicked? This is scary as hell.”

“I never said it wasn’t,” he spoke quietly, completely contrasted to the swarm you were feeling inside, “But what good is panicking going to do? You need to be healthy, I need to take care of you, and we’re going to get through this together.”

Despite the fact that you were indeed freaking out on a whole new level, Draco’s words made a comfortable feeling settle in your chest. You knew damn well that having a baby at seventeen while attending school was going to be the biggest challenge of your life, but somehow, he seemed to make you feel as if it was going to work.

“Are — Are you sure? I mean, this is huge,” you widened your eyes, waving your hands as if to show him how big this was.

He chuckled, placing a kiss on your cheek, “I’m sure. Hey, we’re getting married in two years, so what’s the worst that can happen? We already know we’re gonna be together for a long, long time. We’re the ultimate team, we got this.”

You smiled, wiping at your tears for the third time that morning, “Draco, this isn’t like getting matching tattoos, this is a baby. A child. In a few months, I’m going to start getting big, and by this summer I won’t even see my feet, and at this time next year—”

“—we’re going to have a little Malfoy,” he cut you off, silencing your rambling, “I got that, yeah. Doesn’t mean I don’t want it to happen. I always knew I wanted kids with you. Hey, if you decide to straight up drop out of Hogwarts right now, I’ll be right by your side, helping you carry your bags and figuring out where we’d go from there.”

You were speechless. This was not the way you thought he’d react to this. You had expected silence, worry, and of course, a whole bunch of tugging at his hair while he swore his head off. That’s how you were feeling inside. You never thought he’d end up being okay with this. He was being so calm.

You let out a breath and nodded your head, “Right, okay, so we’ll be okay then?”

“I don’t see why we wouldn’t be. Yeah, being pregnant won’t be easy, but we’ve got some good people around us here and our families will help us out,” he shrugged, trying to hold back a smile, “I still can’t believe it.”

“Yeah, tell me about it,” you let out a soft chuckle, placing your hands over your belly. You leaned your head back on the couch, shutting your eyes and listening to Draco’s slow breaths.

You nearly jumped when you felt his hand on top of yours, rubbing slow, soothing circles over your still-flat belly.

“This is crazy,” he muttered, leaning his head against your shoulder, “We’re having a baby.”. Nodding, you let out another small giggle, placing a kiss against his forehead.

You were too focused on your peaceful moment with Draco to realize Pansy and Blaise walking into the room, overhearing your conversation and smacking each other with wide eyes.

“Sorry — you’re having a what now?!” Pansy shrieked, gripping Blaise’s sleeve with shock and startling you out of your skin, “You two lovestruck idiots better name it after me, boy or girl.”

Some institutions do not update on Sundays. I have included the date of everything that is in question. That is also why this update is early :)

Thank you to @hysterical-random-things for letting me know about the first death in NYC and where to find that news, to @nanook2000 for information and links about KY’s response, and to @akashicsage for all of the good deets on San Diego county. If you have reliable information from a good source that I don’t seem to have, please shoot me a message/ask/pigeon!

A word on mortality rates: they look very high in some places in the US right now because testing is limited to the sickest patients. People who have mild illness and are well enough to go or stay home may not have been tested until very recently when several states started mass testing/drive through testing. Testing is still limited in a lot of states, so this will be a rolling increase situation, I anticipate.

A word on case numbers: due to the aforementioned expansion of testing capacity in the US (thank fuck), case numbers are gonna grow in a really, really scary-looking way this week. This is not actually as scary as it seems, because it means we are catching more of the cases that would have gone unnoticed and have better information to help more people.

International/General News

Many places experiencing a worsening epidemic are following the lead of countries including South Korea and instituting drive-through testing and high-throughput testing. Some tests (like the ones being used in Vietnam) can have a result in as soon as an hour, enabling people to be quickly cleared or quarantined. (This is super cool science! Yay, science!)

South Korea’s epidemic is currently being driven by a fringe religious group, which represents approximately 60% of all cases.

Italy’s health system is overwhelmed, which is likely why their case-fatality rate is so high. Doctors, nurses, respiratory techs, first responders, lab personnel, and everyone else involved in hospitals/health care are working their butts off and doing some frankly heroic shit to help people.

Singapore has instituted strict travel restrictions on visitors/transiting people from European countries, including Italy, France, Spain, and Germany; this is in addition to restrictions on visitors from Iran, China, and South Korea.

Some doctors from Washington state, USA (the ones seeing the most cases) are noticing that myocarditis (viral infection & inflammation of the heart) seems to be what kills patients, not the ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) that requires ventilation. This is obviously in early stages and more research is ongoing.

The World Health Organization is setting up three hospitals with advanced respiratory care capabilities in Erbil, Baghdad, and Basra, Iraq.

Virology Corner

Today’s topic: where did SARS-CoV-2 come from?

SARS-CoV-2 is what’s known as a zoonotic virus. This means that it spread from animals to humans, and then gained the ability (through mutations) to pass from human to human.

We think that SARS-CoV-2 came from bats (Rhinopholus) or pangolins- which doesn’t mean we need to blame bats or pangolins for this, they’re innocent bystanders in the game of cat-and-mouse viruses and animals are constantly playing over evolutionary timescales. Also they’re pretty ding dang cute.

(Not to get much more depressing, but here goes, as humans encroach on more and more land and as climate change progresses, more zoonoses will affect humans. Sorry to be a mega-bummer.)

Question Tuesday

Today’s question comes from @adventurecalls! They ask (paraphrased because the ask got eaten): “If I do get sick, how do I know when it’s ok to go back to doing stuff?”

This is a really good question, and one that’s rapidly being worked out by public health people as we speak (whoa)!

In general, the thought is that once you’re totally recovered you’re not able to spread the virus, but there’s not concrete data on this. The best we have is this recent study in the Lancet (https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)30566-3/fulltext) which indicates that people who recover shed virus for 20 days from symptom onset, whereas those who die shed virus continuously until their death, a maximum course of 37 days.

I obviously can’t give individual medical advice, which this is not, but the guidance from the WHO is excellent in general, and I will keep readers posted when there’s more information.

I think this is all of them based on a quick Wikipedia investigation?

Interestingly they tested a bunch of people who work in a hospital and found a pretty high (4%) rate of asymptomatic infection. This seems like bad news (are these people spreading, etc) but it’s actually pretty good news because it means the mortality rate is lower than we think. I’ll update here as I find out more, which is hampered by my inability to speak Dutch.

Today’s Hot Tips

Make sure you have ibuprofen and tylenol/acetaminophen/APAP/paracetamol at home before you get sick. This isn’t just covid advice, this is life advice in general. (Obvs, ask your doctor about what’s safe to take if you have chronic health conditions etc but this is a general recommendation, not medical advice. As I said, life advice.)

As far as I know, ibuprofen and tylenol are ok, but research may change this. Current research indicates that steroids, which are used in other severe respiratory conditions, may make COVID-19 associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) worse. More on this later.

It still can’t hurt to have some tylenol around, though, ya know?

There was a reason why blasty boy wanted to keep your relationship private. Literally everyone in Class 1-A was super nosy. Excluding a select few, and he didn’t need a bunch of extras intruding the relationship. You agreed that you wanted to keep it secret as well, enjoying the cuddles and kisses behind closed doors. Neither of you were super into PDA so it wasn’t too hard for the both of you to restrain yourselves. He was used to seeing you joke around with Denki, Mina, and Kirishima so he didn’t really pay too much mind to the innuendos and flirty jokes thrown back and forth. He knew you’d never leave him for either of those idiots and he trusted you enough to stop when things go a bit too far.

Despite him calling them idiots, he trusted his friends to not make a serious pass at you or say anything that would make you uncomfortable. He did get upset when Mina kissed your cheek once but he restrained himself enough because he knew it was just a friendly gesture.

His patience did get tested around Mineta but he always enjoyed watching you kick that idiots ass and making him fall to his knees and beg for an apology. Never fails to make him smile. But there were times where he couldn’t keep his anger at bay, like now.

You guys were out with the bakusquad at a festival, some of your guys’ other classmates followed along. It was going pretty well so far when the night was ending and you had basically had to drag Bakugo over to the game booths.

“Please Suki, it’ll be fun~ Just one game.” You pleaded, pulling out the pouty lips and puppy dog eyes.

“No, I’m not paying for a damned game that’s probably rigged or something.” He crossed his arms.

“What if I paid and you just played with me?”

He huffed in annoyance. “No, don’t wast your money on that crap.”

“Whatever, I’ll just play one myself.” You rolled your eyes and went to a booth, waiting in line to play.

“Oooh who’s that with (y/n)? They’re really cute!” Mina squealed, that caught Bakugo’s attention. A popping noise and black smoke emitted from his palms as he watched the scene in front of him. This person had the audacity to wrap their arm around your waist and try to hit on you.

“Whoah Bakugo, relax.” Kirishima placed a hand on his shoulder but it was shrugged off as Bakugo stomped over to you.

“HEY! Get your grubby hands off of my s/o!”

“Whoa, whoa hey, relax dude.” They pulled away from you and held their hands up defensively.

“Don’t tell me to relax asshole! They clearly didn’t want you so close to them, so back off!” he let poor sweat pool into his hand and the popping intensified, you could already feel the heat radiating from it.

“Alright babe, that’s enough...let’s just go.” You place a gentle hand on his shoulder. He glared at the person who was just all over you and grabbed your waist, pulling you into him and hungrily swallowing your lips in a hungry kiss. A kiss to show everyone that you were his an no one else’s.

Needless to say, the bakusquad was just waiting for the two of you to date, they just hadn’t expected the two of you to already be a couple and they definitely didn’t expect Bakugo to be the one to out the both of you.

“Wow.” You mumbled as the both of you pulled away breathlessly. “What happened to not letting the extra’s know?” You teased.

“Shut up idiot, I had to show ‘em who you belong to.” He looked away, blush on his cheeks.

You gasped. “Was somebody jealous?”

“Wow Bakubro! You’re such a tsundere!” Kirishima snickered.

“You have two seconds to run, airheads!” He growled as he unwrapped his arms from your waist and chased after them.

“Yup...that’s my boyfriend.” You sighed, flinching at the sound of an explosion not too far off.

“You sure know how to pick ‘em, (y/n)!” Mina giggled from beside you.

“Yes, yes I do.”

It’s not like the two of you were hiding your relationship on purpose but it was more like, no one had really asked or anything so you just didn’t see the need to bring attention to it. The relationship was fairly new to the both of you so it was very nice to be able to figure it all out while not having any unwanted attention. Todoroki was a sweet boyfriend, he was very hesitant about initiating any physical contact because he was terrified of being like his father. You reassurance definitely helped but you also didn’t mind taking it slow. You weren’t much of a fan of Endeavor. You never were, not before meeting Shoto and definitely not after.

Today, Class 1-A was having a competition of quirks. It would work like a bracket competition until there was one person standing. Endeavor had caught word and decided to sit in and watch. You had beat Tokoyami and moved onto the next round, Shoto had beat Uraraka and moved on as well. Your eyes widening when the next bracket was announced.

“Alright, Todoroki and (L/n)! Be on standby, the two of you are next.”

The both of you stared at each other with wide eyes. When you guys started dating, you agreed that you wouldn’t hold back during training or battle simulations. You had never been paired up though, so this was a bit of a shock.

“Come on (y/n)! You’ve got this!” Ojiro patted your shoulder as he walked past you since his was the bracket that had just ended.

“SHOTO!” The sudden shout caused you to jump and turn towards the source, not very surprised to see Endeavor sitting in the stands, All Might and Present Mic seated next to him.

“You two ready?” Aizawa asked as the two of you got prepared.

“Ready.” Shoto’s smooth voice calmed your racing heart.

“Ready.” You nodded.

“Alright! Begin!”

Shoto watched as lightning enveloped your body, hair starting to float upward (think of killua’s godspeed). He knew how dangerous your quirk was, especially with how much you’ve trained to strengthen it. You could produce at least 1billion volts without passing out. The same amount of electricity as a raw lightning bolt. The sound of a loud crackle of lightning snapped him out of his trance and he scowled, keeping his senses alert, as he looked around. You disappeared, or that’s what it seemed like. Within a blink of an eye you appeared right in front of him.

“Peek a boo~” You teased, you placed your hands on his chest and sent a mild blast of lightning into him and he flew backwards, using his ice to stop him from flying out of bounds. A small smirk spread across his lips as he skid to a stop.

“Come on (y/n), I thought we agreed to give it all we got.”

“All right then Shoto, bring it on.”

Aizawa instantly regretted not setting a time limit when your battle lasted past the 10 minute mark. Not that anyone was complaining though. Watching two people with high skill sets battle it out was intriguing. Endeavor, however, was furious. Clenching his jaw impossibly tighter every time you got the upper hand.

Towards the 17 minute mark, you had taken a substantial amount of damage already. You were slowly growing more, and more fatigued. Shoto could tell and decided to ease up. But when he attacked, you could tell.

“No, d-don’t hold b-back! I’m not weak!” He could tell that you were frustrated with your performance and he wanted nothing more than to hold you in his arms and tell you that you were anything but weak. He noticed that you were gonna do your ‘signature move’ so before you could complete it, he encased you in ice. Aizawa was a bout to call it when the ice cracked before a loud boom was heard and ice was sent flying everywhere. He watched in horror as you collapsed to the ground.

“Todoroki wi-”

“(Y/N)!” Everyone was shocked as he ran to you, dropping to his knees to check if you were okay. “(Y/n)? Darling please...” He cupped your cheek, thumb running over your cheekbone. His fear may have seemed a tad bit irrational but he panicked. He vowed to himself to never hurt you in any way, so in his eyes he was the same as his father. Once your eyes opened he sat you up and brought your lips to his, “I’m sorry, my love. I’m sorry.”

“Wow, maybe I should get hurt more often.” You chuckled.

“No fair!!! Todoroki has more game than I do!” Denki complained. Well, that cat’s out of the bag.

“Shoto!! What do you think you’re doing?!” Oh right...Endeavor.

I think it’s a bit obvious why he wanted to keep the relationship a secret, he didn’t think he could handle it if other people knew. Mirio and Nejire definitely had their suspicions but didn’t want to overwhelm their friend with accusations.

He was looking for you during lunch, you had said that there was something you needed to take care of something before lunch but that was over half an hour ago. He was mumbling worriedly to his two friends, assuming the worst.

“Oh wait, are you talking about (y/n)?” Nejire tapped her chin. “I saw them go into the hero support classroom. They said something about a suit upgrade.”

Just then, you had entered the cafeteria, but you weren’t alone. You were with Keita...he was another third year who was in the advanced hero support class. They were also known to be a huge flirt. Tamaki couldn’t help but feel jealous as he watched how they had made you laugh, the pink tinge covering your cheeks was worrying as well. The two of you split and went your separate ways.

“Hey (y/n)! How’s it goin’?” Mirio asked as you sat down.

“I’m so excited, my upgrade request finally went through! I’m finally getting a new suit!” He thought you looked cute as you expressed your excitement before guilt filled his entire being as he realized that he was jealous over nothing.

Over the next couple of weeks, you had spent an awful lot of time smiling at your phone, not to mention spending a lot of time with Keita. He knew that creating a whole new suit was a long process. It took a long time to test out prototypes and whatnot but he couldn’t help but think that you were losing interest in him. That you were spending more time with Keita because he was doing a horrible job as your boyfriend. Because he wasn’t there when you needed him or because you just got fed up with his timid nature.

Somewhere inside of him, he knew none of it was true but he couldn’t help but think that he wasn’t good enough anymore. You had noticed that he was acting strange so you decided to ask him about him.

“Tama? Is everything okay? You’ve been acting a little strange recently...” He gulped nervously.

“Well I uh, I-” He sighed heavily. “Do you still want to be with me, (y/n)?” The question completely threw you off guard.

“Of course I still want to be with you Tamaki? Why would you think that?” He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.

“Well y-youv’e been h-hanging out w-with Keita a lot, s-so I just thought...well I don’t know.”

You frowned and cupped his cheeks to tilt his face back up so you could look into his eyes. “Baby, why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

“I was n-nervous...I d-didn’t want you to think I w-was being clingy.” He stuttered, the tips of his ears turning red.

“Aww Tama but I love it when you’re clingy~” you leaned forward and pressed a kiss in the tip of his nose which made his cheeks erupt in heat. “Would it make you feel better if I stopped hanging out with Keita so much?”

“B-but what about your suit?”

“Well it’s pretty much done by now, all the prototype testing was done today.”

He was happy that you were spending more time with him lately but one day when you were walking down the hall together, Keita had approached both of you.

“Hey (y/n), so I know your suit is done and everything but I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me?”

“Oh Keita, I’m sorry.” You slipped your hand into Tamaki’s and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “I’m already dating someone.”

Tamaki turned and leaned his head against your shoulder in embarrassment. Keita apologized and left you two there. You turned and held Tamaki in your arms, lettin him keep his face buried in your shoulder.

“I’m sorry I embarrassed you Tama, but now everyone knows.”

Legend has it that Nejire and Mirio are teasing the both of you about it to this day.

The reason why Aizawa wanted to keep the relationship secret was because you were a petty well know pro hero and with the onslaught of villain attacks against his students and the school, he couldn’t endanger you by putting a target on your back. You were also a young pro, you were only 4 years younger than him, and he didn’t wan to “ruin” your image.

One night, you had gone out for some drinks with Miruko. The two of you had been good friends since your UA days and that bond hadn’t broken. She said she’d be bringing a friend along, you just shrugged it off and told her it was fine. What you hadn’t expected was to see her and a certain maroon winged hero strut into the bar. You were mortified. The memory of telling her you thought he was hot coming back to you and slamming you like a 50 ton truck. That was before you started your relationship with Shota but Rumi hadn’t known about that.

“Hey (y/n) this is Takami.” You smiled politely at the blonde. “Takami this is (y/n).”

“Very nice to meet you.” He grinned flirtatiously.

“Likewise.” You shook his hand, internally groaning. This was gonna be a long night.

A couple of drinks in, you switched to water and club soda so you could sober up. You had an early patrol the next morning and you did not want to risk being hungover on the job. The entire night you had to fend off a flirty Takami. However, what you weren’t aware of was the person a few feet away from you snapping pictures of you and the blonde hero.

The next morning, you woke up to multiple tabloid articles about the two of you in the bar. The dating scandal was trending all over social media. You hadn’t really thought much about it and just went to work like usual.

When Aizawa saw the tabloid he frowned. He was a little conflicted because he obviously knew it wasn’t true and he had complete trust in you but he couldn’t help but feel insecure and a little jealous. There was no denying that people loved the idea of you and Hawks together, even he couldn’t deny that the two of you looked good together.

Later on in the day, you decided to make your way to the school to see Shota because the guilt in your stomach just wouldn’t go away. Even if you hadn’t really done anything, you still felt horrible. You had told Aizawa you would be showing up during your lunch break, he said he’d be waiting for you at the school gate. A few journalists had seen you make your way towards UA and decided to bombard you with tons of questions about Hawks.

“When did you two start dating?!”

“Where did you guys meet?!”

“Do you two usually meet up at bars?!” etc, etc...You had your bottom lip tucked painfully between your teeth.

“Actually, they’re already in a relationship.” The sudden deep voice behind you made you grin. His arm wrapped around you and pulled you into his side, pressing a kiss right under your ear. “Now if you’ll excuse us...” And with that, the two of you made your way onto campus.

“That was very out of character for you, Aizawa-sensei~” You purred teasingly. He grinned and pulled you flush against him, chest to chest, leaning down to kiss you deeply.

“Well I couldn’t help myself from getting jealous, people were thinking you were with that blonde asshole. You’re mine baby.“

“Carry on then.” he didn’t need to be told twice as he dove in for another kiss. His students may or may not have seen that go down and they may or may not have teased him about it the next morning.

Mikasa and Levi took the spotlight this week! 30.1% of viewers felt most hyped up by Mikasa’s “explosive” reintroduction to the anime, while 22.6% were stoked to see Levi take on Porco to save Eren. 18.3% were most hyped by the Survey Corps taking on the Jaw Titan and the subsequent cliffhanger.

THE CGI CONTINUES TO BE A POINT OF CONTENTION. BE HONEST, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EXECUTION OF CGI SO FAR THIS SEASON? 93 Responses

Just under 50% of responses seemed to indicate that they thought MAPPA was doing very well with the CGI utilized. A little over 15% stated that although it was not their favorite, they understood that it could be a lot worse. Other responses (in order) were being neutral about the CGI, not liking it, but understanding the need for its usage and folks who adamantly rejected 3D animation.

I actually prefer CGI titans because of the way their movements looks, it looks almost slower, to me it fits very well with how the big titans are. Im not an anime guy at all so ive never seen cgi in other anime but i really like the way Mappa's CGI looks, it blends in very well. I dont like CGI people though, the shot with Jean throwing the marly soldier off the rooftop i didn't like very much.

I feel horrible saying this believe me... but I really vibed with the CGI up until this episode. I think maybe because it's the first time its been used on humans (OPM) rather then titans. I'm not massively put off though, I really apreciate the efforts this episode must have taken. TY Mappa

The episode is great no doubt, my only concern is the CG personally, as a 3D artist myself, I think I would prefer an all 2D medium like the battle at Stohess. Using 3D is fine as long as it blends seamlessly to the background, like kengan ashura, it's not perfect but bearable.

I honestly think that 2D will always 100% be better than cgi but I can understand why mappa is using cgi

It was fine in the other episodes, but in this episode, it looked overused and bit bad

HOW WAS EREN’S ROOFTOP SWAN DIVE? 94 Responses

When it came down to Eren’s swan rooftop dive (“Like a fallennn angel…”), the majority seemed to be impressed, with 68% giving it a score of 4 or higher. It was not a monolithic opinion however and many seemed also rated it poorly. Do better, Eren!

The Survey Corps has returned! Of these reappearances, viewers most enjoyed Mikasa’s (48.9%), Levi’s (31.9%) and Sasha’s (14.9%) the most. Jean and Connie got a little less love, though we’re sure people were still happy to see them!

It would appear that the slight plurality sees Mikasa as having the best glow up out of the cast, followed by (in order) Eren, Sasha, Connie, Jean, Floch and Levi. The Old Captain doesn’t like to change up his style, we suppose.

In relation to the previous question, we still haven’t seen 3 major members of the cast. Armin, Hange and Historia. When we asked which of the three you were most looking forward to seeing next, the slight majority (52.7%) expressed their excitement for seeing Armin again, followed by 11.8% wanting to see Hange most. Some others have also expressed their desire to see Historia again. 17.2% simply could not choose and 10.8% stated that they simply didn’t care about the 3 characters.

WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT THE WARHAMMER TITAN? 90 Responses

The Warhammer received an overwhelmingly positive response, with the majority expressing much excitement over both its design and powers. 15.6% noted that the design was a bit too creepy for their liking, but the powers were awesome. And on the flip side, 10% noted the Titan’s design was rather cool, in contrast to its rather OP ability. A select few did not enjoy either aspect.

Would probably enjoy it more if it belonged to someone that likely is not going to be just cannon fodder

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE NEW UNIFORMS? 92 Responses

The Survey Corps returned sporting new uniforms to much fanfare. 30.4% of respondents really enjoy the upgrade, finding the suits to be badass. 23.9% couldn’t find the words and just settled for pure hype. 20.7% enjoy the new uniforms just as much as they enjoy the classic uniforms. 12% felt it was a much needed upgrade, though 10.9% don’t care at all about the uniform change.

EREN SAYS TO MIKASA, “YOU GUYS ACTUALLY CAME.” THIS IS FOLLOWED UP BY MIKASA ASKING EREN TO COME HOME. DOES THIS INSINUATE THAT EREN WENT TO THE MAINLAND ON HIS OWN? 90 Responses

The circumstances of the Survey Corps’ presence on the mainland continues to be a mystery. When we asked about whether Eren was there alone or not a few episodes ago, the majority believed that he was either there alongside the Survey Corps or was sent there by them. Overall, the feelings seem to be the same (that Eren came alongside the Survey Corps). 45.6% think that Mikasa’s words may have some other meaning and that things are way too planned out to be coincidence. 18.9% believe that Eren did go rogue, while 15.6% think that Eren didn’t necessarily go rogue, but wasn’t working with them for a while either. The remaining 20% have already been spoiled on this particular plot point.

THE ATTACK ON LIBERIO SEEMS TO PARALLEL THE BREACH OF SHIGANSHINA. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS EVENT IN COMPARISON? 92 Responses

Now that both sides of the conflict have had their rude awakening, we asked how you guys felt about the two events comparatively. 33.7% feel that both attacks were tragic, but still feel more empathy toward the Eldians on Paradis than they do toward those who were raised on Marley. At a tie, 22.8% of respondents felt that the victims of the Liberio attack got what was coming with them, while another 22.8% felt about the same amount of sympathy for the victims on both sides. 10.9% feel this is way worse than what happened in Shiganshina and feel more sympathy for the victims in Liberio.

I am yet to know the goals behind this attack.

Marley did this countless times so I don’t feel bad for them. I kind of feel for eldians tho bc they are brainwashed from a young age to give up their lives for a country who doesn’t give a shit about them.

Honestly they deserve what Eren is doing to them. Excluding Falco, no one outside of Paradis has earned my sympathy, even with the additional context.

SADLY, UDO AND ZOFIA DID NOT SURVIVE THE ATTACK ON LIBERIO. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THEIR DEATHS? 91 Responses

Udo and Zofia have joined the ranks of characters who tagged along with the main cast for a while only to be killed off for character development. 25.3% anticipated at least one of them to die, but not both. Another tie on this poll, 24.2% stated that they were disappointed and was hoping to see more of them, while another 24.2% didn’t care about them at all. 14.3% are happy to ditch the focus on them in favor of more familiar characters, and 8.8% feel pure and utter devastation.

Eren and Floch were anything but BFF’s at the closing of season 3. Now Floch seems to be wholly devoted to Eren’s cause… What changed? 28.6% believe that nothing has actually changed in terms of their relationship, but that Floch simply just latched onto Eren’s fight in need of a new devil. 23.1% feel that they still aren’t friends, but are in more comfortable “ally” territory. 15.4% aren’t sure what to make of it. Smaller handfuls feel that they either grew to become friends and/or co-conspired to attack Liberio together. 22% are already spoiled on the details.

Floch is easily persuaded...and annoying 🤷‍♀️

WE SEE GABI GRAB THE GUARD’S FUN AFTER WITNESSING SASHA KILL HIM. WHAT DO YOU THINK MIGHT HAPPEN? 90 Responses

Gabi moves headstrong into the fight, wanting to play her part in defending her hometown. A large chunk of anime only viewers have been spoiled on future developments for her character. But for those still in the dark - 24.4% feel that she will successfully kill a member of the Survey Corps. 21.1% aren’t sure what to expect, while 10% think she will only manage to injure someone in the Survey Corps. Smaller amounts feel she won’t be successful in any capacity or may even die herself.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?

Epic episode, survey corps come back, OH YEAH, but I wished they didn’t use CGI on humans and bettered the CGI on Titans.

It really makes me sad how Eren is continuing the cycle of revenge by killing innocent Marleyan civilians, but it makes sense for his character.

I think I need more dialogue between the old crew to really settle back in with them. I kinda believe that Mappa's still trying to 'click', they obviously can't just get it right immediately. Other then that I loved the titan scenes, more than ODM scenes 😔

This was a great episode and I was literally vibrating in my seat from excitement! I think MAPPA is doing a great job with the animation and the music works really well with the action. Can’t wait for the rest of the season!
