#Idk why but even tho I didn't like this ep that much

So just finished watching the ep so review. Spoils ahead:

So the episode was ok to me, solid 6/10 one of the better episodes which since this was supposed to be an "extravagant" ep why does it got better quality than the main eps, idk Viv has her moments like this ep and other eps its a train wreck in writing ect.

Mammon worked on my nerves, from design to his movements, personality ALL of him was annoying, which props for an annoying Villian but its Villian I never want to see back again and he's hinted for some sort of return.

Side tangent: Mammon is like the how many-ith Villian to get a return ep/hint at one. It was 1st cherubs, then dorks, then stella/ice twink, striker/crimson now Mammon & according to the leaked storyboards a ghost guy that tries to talk IMP into off-ing themselves... its a flipping lot and cherubs & dorks seem to be forgotten dispite dorks knowing & having hard evidence they exist, flip Viv chill it with your Villian of the week cos its way too many now.

Anyway, Blitz didn't need to be in this ep besides the flashback. Ozzie got him to talk Fizz out of being Mammon's puppet but ultimately Ozzie spoke him out of it & gave him courage to quit/confront Mammon. Even Blitz being a bodyguard/killing people for Fizz could've been any imp. Blitz is starting to feel like Steven from SU, in every ep even tho the ep doesn't need him/ the episode surrounds topics a wee child shouldn't be in (i.e Lapis trauma dumping on Steven & he a child isn't really equipped to handle that situation).

My fave part of this ep was Ozzie and Fizz. Ya'll I legit prayed Viv wouldn't mess these two up and my prayers were answered. Absolutely a joy these two were. Fizz especially what a darling. Loved that small scenes with him and the deaf imp child, l dont know sign language but it looked genuine animated and was just sweet moments.

From their interactions, Fizz's panic attacks/self doubt felt & were genuine... I felt that as someone that has panic attacks from high stress on my studies/life. It was just handled well. Fizz feeling less than and needing to prove himself from 1. his past 2. his appearance, that accident affected his self image/worth so much (why I felt him forgiving Blitz was too hastily done but I digress) & 3. him doing this Mammon contest still to gain/earn Ozzie's love for him cos Fizz believes Ozzie only sticks around because of this fame Mammon gave Fizz. Ozzie finally saying what he loves about Fizz was lovely, wanted that in the 1st ep but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Their song was... I didn't like it BUT the message in it was beautiful. Lastly Fizz saying fuck you to Mammon from the courage/strength Ozzie gave him was a nice send off... also Ozzie saying he loves Fizz ah ngl that made me smile agh I just love them. I want to see them more than the Stolitz show but thats only a wish. Props Viv, you get 1 brownie point not messing this up.

Last findings, the ep was bloated as hell my soul Viv please stop cramming so much in an ep, this one is 30 mins long & yet still felt bloated. Pacing was a motherfuka damn it was bad & the swearing was jarring (its a Viv written ep I don't expect any less but still gonna point it out) and the comedy wasn't so prominent in this ep, Blitz/Mammon gave some comic relief but in the best and worst ways:

The way the VA delivered this line "to be fucked" made me laugh, the line is cringy but the delivery lol gold

Aand Blitz, my soul shut the fuck up & get out this ep. Last ep & this one he said something so agonizingly cringe I pulled my face

The world of HB is legit American hell or earth just painted red since Fizz named all these places in America just "hellified" where his fans come from.

And very last, congratulations Salem glad you got the cathartic send off you deserve from working under Viv, truly fuck you "Mammon" indeed :) also glad they credited you this time.

SPOILERS FOR AGATHA ALL ALONG EP 8 AND 9

I was so fucking hyped for this shit because I thought maybe my little lesbians would get a happy-ish ending. Instead, Agatha gets killed in her own show and becomes a side piece to Billy, the one male in a female dominated show; Rio just walks away after Agatha dies???? Huh??? Mf that's the love of her life right there, she wouldn't just walk away; the whole point of the road was to get what you're missing, and Agatha needed to learn to move on from her grief, she was missing peace, but instead of accepting death and Rio and Nicky, she just stays as a ghost???? I don't find that satisfying at all; they teased a Tommy return but didn't actually give it to us and I was kinda disappointed; Rio wasn't in the last episode at all besides the flashback, and she didn't even say shit; we got agatha and nicky's story but no agathario?? Rude but okay; and ik she's like crazy and shit but you're telling me Rio was actually going to kill Agatha?? And also in the beginning they said Rio couldn't kill her so wtf; IM SO TIRED OF THE BURY YOUR GAYS BULLSHIT IM AT THE END OF MY ROPE

But on the plus side that kiss was fire AS FUCK and Agatha pretty much said "if I'm dying I'm going out with style and kissing this hot mf" and I love her for that. It was hungry and it was raw and so them. I did love that the Ballad was just Agatha and Nicky together tho 🥲 Rio definitely stayed with them for at least some of those 6 or 7 years. Wondering how tf Agatha got pregnant cause I know for a fact my girlie ain't getting with a man

Also I see why Agatha kinda hates Rio, even if she loves her, but idk why Rio has such hatred for Agatha. I need answers, Marvel 🫵🤨

Overall, 6/10. I expected better, but I doesn't look like their story is over yet so I'm holding out hope.

just omfg tho, the fact that what finally snaps catra in half but in regards to breaking her walls down i guess - what gets this gurl to finally be vulnerable w adora after all this time - what leaves her feeling absolutely defeated but in doing so, also forces her to give in and just fucking say how she feels/what she wants - something adora kinda needs tbh as the emotionally oblivious (but also very lovable) dummy she can often be - is simply just adora saying "you'll never have to see me again."

cause like, same as adora couldn't fucking handle fathoming losing catra for life when she thought she was straight gonna die in her arms during save the cat - catra couldn't conceive of an existence that didn't include adora in some way either. i mean, imo it's even why catra kept her close as an enemy in their time at odds w each other lol (aside from s4 when she thinks adora hates her now and will forever)

i think it's in the og script for save the cat - something i def rec looking up if you haven't read it btw - before bringing out catra, prime says something to adora along the lines of,

"of course. you're catra. bitter enemies, and yet, the two of you can never seem to stay away from from each other, can you?"

(ps i truly despise the way prime says catra's name tbh like it makes me so angry esp in his interactions mentioning her to adora before she comes out in save the cat.. like w this kinda condescending, mocking inflection. i fucking hate him so much lmao but i also know ain't no one tryna argue w me on that lol)

holy shit tho fr i get the decision to opt outta prime being the one to tell adora that she broke catra's heart - so much more weighted coming to adora from catra herself tbh. but there's another line i kinda woulda liked to see make it to the screen that also really got to me from the og script, it's something like "you used to talk of ruling the world together. up on that little spot on the roof that only you knew about. then you left... you broke her heart. you always wanted more... but all she ever wanted was you."

like honestly dude, if that minus the broke heart part - given as a line to catra later on in the ep instead - had actually been included in save the cat... hahaha omg idk if i coulda survived it tbh lol

and like just dude.. it's hard to fully fathom how fucking difficult it prob was for catra in that moment to swallow her pride, shut up the dumb neg self-talk in her head, and grab adora's hand before she could walk away. and omg, so so the most vulnerable moment we've yet to see for catra, aside from i guess maybe in the Promise ep where light hope fucks w both their heads so hard that catra does legit cry in front of adora -

I really like the new event and how it works, so let's skip to the parts I DON'T like first!

I hateee that the different colors are limited to the event... Let me buy it whenever I want once it's unlocked omg!!! Especially since they're all SOOO expensive individually!! I definitely won't be able to play the next episode and I don't know for how long (Also because I'll be gone that weekend so even if I had the AP and Gems, I still would have to wait,, I'm consoled since the next EP for The Sims 4 is coming out Thursday and I'm eating that pack up but now we're going offtopic...)

I guess that it makes sense that they're "exclusive"... Since that's like the main way to get money

I don't really like how the doll outfit's dress is only one piece tho :( It'll be hard to style that with other things but I shall do it anyway...

I was also hoping to get more short haircuts but the ones we got aren't bad at all and we definitely don't have anything like those already! I knew people wanted a longer curly wig so I hope you all enjoy it!!

And since I've moved from the things I hate let me pass to the things I've enjoyed (again?)

Like I said at the beginning, I like the new minigame and how it works, it's fun and quick too? I also like the way the points are given out (because it's easier to get many points than just a few)

The site's layout is nice, I like the new colors and I also really like the new rooms we get!! (Somewhat offtopic from the layout but I just remembered lol) I haven't unlocked anything so far from the F2P room, but I love the vampire-themed one! (oh well of course I do, I'm one myself after all...)

Last thing that comes to mind are the Illustrations and scenes! I've only played Amanda's and Jason's so far, but I enjoyed both (Amanda's more too!!)

The illustrations are MESMERIZING (I'm looking at you again, Amanda!!!!) I've only seen the other ones quickly from other people's posts and the third one that looked really good to me was Thomas's! Roy's and Devon's didn't particularly catch my interest, IDK what's going on in those so I'll have to wait and see!

I love all of the LI's costumes so much too!! My favorites probably being Thomas and Devon because they fit surprisingly well!

I wasn't that sure about Vampire!Amanda but she's sooo gorgeous like!! Her platinum blonde hair fits very well... I'm glad I'm getting back into her 😭❤️🙏🏻

Honestly you can't be surprised that I like almost everything since it's an Halloween event, I'm also cutting this short (as if it's not a long af post already) because I have to get ready for work...

Learning that lsoh had a cartoon in the early 90s that lasted for a whole 13 episodes is kinda buckwild to me personally. Now, to be fair, it is based on the 1960 film *and* the 1986 film, and I haven't watched the 1960 film, so please any of yall inform me if what I point out is from the 1960 movie or something.

Firstly, why is Audrey Mr. Mushnik's daughter? Idk it just seems weird to me cuz in the 86 film, Seymour is more of a son to Mushnik than anybody. Maybe they didn't want to make it clear that Seymour was an orphan or something by him being around Mr. Mushnik I guess??(even tho they coulda just made Mr. Mushnik his dad but whatevs) and it's even weirder to me they gave him a health nut mom that neglects him?? Like..what..

Also, ok, Seymour & Audrey are 13(even tho their character designs make em look like 8 but whatever it's fine), which I don't mind since usually kids cartoons have child protagonists. But..they didn't make..Orin a child?? They had his equivalent in the show have a son, who serves as a bully to Seymour and like Audrey. I get it *would* be a little..dark..to have Orin as entirely himself because of how much he loves torturing ppl and to show him when his love for Audrey was still not abusive(i assume they wouldnt show it abusive cuz yk kids cartoon and all)..but you could just alter his personality..idk it's weird to make him reproduce!!!

Also, why does Orin's equivalent(Dr. Driller) & his son(Paine Driller) look like a weird ass combo of like somebody drunkenly trying to draw Dilbert? I don't mean this in an entirely bad way, I do like Paine's design, it's just weird to have these..guys I guess next to regular human characters like Seymour and Audrey.

i can't believe it's over wtf (Love Sea final ep thoughts)

its joever yall... it's not even hitting me that it's over because we still have the special ep to go but omg.... it's the end.

hats off to fortpeat. i love them so much i'm so sad that love sea is done (at least, the main story is). i had my gripes with parts of this story but in the end i was mainly here to see these two do what they love.

i believe mut mostly knew how tongrak would react to his confession. his dialogue to mook last episode proved deep down, he already knew the answer. the first few minutes of this episode showed his hesitation and reluctance, but his courage pushed through in the end. i think fort did amazing here. his pain from experiencing a rough rejection was so clearly on display. (and peat does that eye shifting thing with tongrak to show the beginning of panic.)

it's terrible yall. it was hard to watch. i do not like couple fights.

peat's hair here is good tho. omg i was focusing so hard on visuals because i didn't want the pain

big shoutout to vie in this ep. while she didn't spell out what rak should do, she basically held rak's hand through the whole ordeal.

mahasamut's last meeting with meena and kwan omg.. when he started crying realizing tongrak's meaning by the number 8.. how much more can my heart shatter lmao

and big ouch at palm's dialogue here. he meant it in a light way, but mahasamut really DID come back without his heart.

yo tongrak was so heartbroken he started dressing like his face twin from the other mame series.

AND ok like when tongrak chased after the trash car, at first i was feeling the pain and then i remembered how twitter clowned that running shot yesterday and i started LAUGHING oh my god!!!!! like i'm so sorry BUT I DON'T CLAIM THE FAULT FOR THIS everyone was saying he was running after the ice cream truck in the episode poster and i saw it in that moment!!!!!!!

back to regular business, this hits painfully hard actually.

tongrak's main fear being their "end" if they start a real relationship despite not even knowing if it'll come true. it's a very real fear people have (not just for romantic relationships), the mindset that "if it can end badly or if i can't succeed, why try anyways"

i love rak and vie's friendship in this show. dare i say it's way more fleshed out than the GL side plot they have going on. on that note, what even happened with the girls mame... how come they're just together. what HAPPENED.

but vie is The driving factor to pushing tongrak to follow mahasamut. she's so important to tongrak and i love it!

now, idk what was the call here for filming this part at night. it was kinda dark, but mut's pain was clear as day anyways. tongrak, in his own way, wanted to return mut's feelings, but because he couldn't SAY IT, mahasamut ends up misunderstanding his motives.

i really did tear up at rak's recorded confession though. my god i was kinda worried how that would come out, but peat's recording was well done. their confession on the beach was so cathartic to watch. LIKE FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

and everything after was sooo sweet. fortpeat has the fluff DOWN as always.

but also omg the last scene with rak buying the house. absolutely love how at first he was excited, but then seeing mut's serious expression and realizing he should've said something omg.. the way he shrunk himself. and fort's face here oouughghg HELLO PEOPLE!!! GIVE HIM HIS SERIOUS ROLES ALREADY. I THINK THIS ENTIRE EP IS PROOF ENOUGH.

If BT isn't bones, I would seriously question ABC and Tim for allowing Lou to give solo interviews in this current environment. How can you trust this man after everything he has done? He was the one who disclosed that it was supposed to be Eddie and the cameo situation spoiled the medal ceremony and contributed to the major toxicity in this fandom.

Babe, I'm questioning them for letting him stay on the show as long as he has already, as well as completely ignoring his bigoted past at this time in the world, but they did that, just like they ignored Gerrard's.

Tim is also the man that wrote a Vertigo arc that he knew was going to take a few more episodes than he had and has also left Christopher in Texas for months on end, completely disregarding the kind of dad Eddie is as well as the relationship that Chris and Eddie have. Tim's also the one that kept a transphobic actress on the show for a whole season, sooo I really don't expect them to care all that much about that, and I don't think a showrunner has ever really cared about fandom problems (I know some showrunners hate the fandom for their show, but other than a comment abt fans screenshotting his messages, Tim hasn't ever really even mentioned fandom toxicity. Pls do correct me if I'm wrong tho!)

I will be THRILLED if it's an exit interview, but if they are over, why would we not be getting Oliver's thoughts on it? He plays the main character who (presumably, bc I really do think it's on Buck to end this relationship to get off the hamster wheel) just ended his first queer relationship, and what he can talk about for the rest of his arc, it would be the perfect opportunity to milk him for some quotes, but we haven't seen any teasers for him; just Lou and Ryan (which that, at least, makes sense, bc Eddie's having a big arc).

Again, I'm so so happy to be wrong, literally nothing (other than a different president-elect) would make me happier, and if I am, I will come on here after & agree that I was wrong, I have 0 issue w that. I just think we might need to not get our hopes all the way up, that's all. We are going to get a breakup between those 2 I believe, I would just be surprised if it's tonight. (Also, I don't remember 911 doing exit interviews for LI's so that's hard for me to grasp, but I also have not been in the fandom for very long, so that could very well explain that confusion. I know Marisol didn't get one, and neither did Natalia, but those were the most recent, so idk.)

MCL NewGen Ep 9 Commentary

I poured blood, sweat, tears, and money to finish this episode. I fought my inner demons to convince myself that they didn't deserved my money but here we are: with a concluded episode and me with 30 euros less in my bank account 🥲 As always, this post will obviously contain spoilers under the cut so beware~

Ngl after the disaster of episode 8 I had zero (0) hopes for this new one, I wasn’t even excited after everything that happened last month (e-girl pack, episode 8, Halloween event and so on) but I have to admit, this one surprisingly exceeded my low expectations by a landslide by finally giving some insight on the LIs about time i might say.

But first thing first, the cost. This episode was hella expensive, I spent 2604 aps, of which 1832 were free. I'm following Jason's route so I know it's more expensive than the others but I didn't imagine this much. I genuinely hope the others will be shorter and that this was just an exception given the backstories cause I can't handle every ep being like this 😩

As a Jason's girlie, I was ecstatic about this episode. For once, his presence was well-contextualized, he didn’t come off like a stalker and we weren’t the damsel in distress. I didn’t expect him to start trauma-dumping on Candy so soon, considering they don’t see each other as often compared to the other LIs, but I’m glad we got to know him better. I really hope Candy’s attitude toward him will start to soften 'cause she’s always on guard around him and it’d be nice to see her relax and trust him a little more, especially after the intimate moment they experienced in this ep.

I must admit tho the premise didn't really appeal to me and I was skeptical this would be another silly ep with all the Devenementiel crew doing stuff but luckily it wasn't. It all starts with Devon telling us that, starting the next day, a group of interns will be joining the team and it turns out these are Devon’s younger brothers, Gebril and Joen.

Overall I liked the time spent with them. I agree that there were a lot of unnecessary moments and some parts I could’ve gladly skipped but it was a cute scenario, and finally we get to meet some new characters for a change also idk but Joen's attitude kinda reminds me of Armin oh I miss himm

Since we're here let’s already get to the sore spot of this whole ep: the whole Tasha situation. I don’t care if it’s wrong to have beef with my fictional sister, but I’m honestly speechless at how she and their mom acted during the internship situation. You knew for months that you needed to pick a company for your internship and yet, the night before, you have no plans because you delayed the application?? And now you’re asking me to call up my boss at 8 pm to beg him to include you in the internship that’s supposed to start tomorrow? Are you out of your mind?!?

Also isn’t the whole traineeship supposed to be organized by the school? I’m not sure how it works in France, but I was quite confused—here in Italy the school usually guides you through the process and handles all the paperwork. It’s unusual for students to be left on their own in a situation like this...

And the mom is even worse cause she just says "I don’t want to judge you for how you’re acting with her because if I were in your shoes I wouldn’t know what to do either" like uhmm you’re the mother, not me?? If you knew about this the whole time –and she knew for months– why didn’t she help Tasha earlier? Or better yet, why didn’t Tasha ask us weeks ago instead of the evening before? And yet they’re just chilling while playing cards omg you have no idea how much this stressed me out it's so stupid but yet so infuriating like the fact that they only have a bathroom in a mega villa but whatever i guess.

After we refuse to help her, Tasha mysteriously ends up joining Goldreamz for her internship. I’m honestly confused, once again, about how this happened because the night before no company had accepted her and now suddenly she's got the job?? Did Jason see her candidacy last minute right before clocking out the office? If I missed something pls let me know cause I genuinely can't wrap my head around it lol.

What a way to twist things...

But anyway, I honestly liked this option. I admit I would have never imagined this plot for his route but I’m glad they went this way. I loved seeing Candy’s reaction when Tasha told her about working with "the devil" and I also enjoyed her reactions to the ambiguous conversation between Candy and Jason in his office watch Tasha being the first to get the hints about their situationship lol

Maybe it's for the better, we don't want to let our lil sis know we blew up big time our first solo project.

Once Tasha leaves, Candy asks Jason wtf he’s doing and he assures her that he doesn’t have any ulterior motives. He just thought it would be an amusing situation for both him and Candy. After a quick recap, we get a better understanding of Candy and Tasha's relationship. It seems like there’s a bit of a rivalry/competition between the sisters—something I would have never guessed, considering we've only seen Tasha about three times since the beginning but okay. I only wish to see more of their sisterhood but I guess we won't any sooner since she's going to her father for a while, that sucks.

After some usual bantering, we find out that Jason envies our relationship with Tasha since he’s an only child, which leads him to open up a bit about his past. We learn that he found comfort in solitude, often isolating himself by going out on his father's boat in the middle of the ocean. I admit this was unexpected, I never would’ve guessed he’d be so into the marine world - as we'll see soon in the rowboat scene. It adds a surprisingly nice contrast to his otherwise business-like persona.

Touched by Jason’s childhood story, Candy spontaneously suggests they take a boat ride right then and there, to experience the peace and solitude he felt throughout his childhood. This was a cute gesture from Candy ngl, I thought she would simply nod and listen to his story but no. This is the first time she takes such an important first step with him in their relationship and I'm proud of her.

But, once arrived tho she has to ruin everything destroying the cute little moment...

Oh my God. You strangely enough managed to get him to open up about his difficult childhood and you still can’t help but joke about him being the big bad guy? Ugh I take back whatever I said about you Candy, you're dumb.

Thankfully, Jason doesn’t seem that much bothered by her comment and they get on the rowboat. I was lowkey hoping for a cute moment where he offers her his hand to help her aboard but nope, doesn’t happen. Honestly I’m convinced this is his subtle payback for that insensitive joke, if so props to you J.

Anyway, he starts rowing and soon we find ourselves in the middle of the lake. This is where the heart of the episode unfolds imo. We finally get a glimpse into his family history. Jason opens up about his father, a scientist deeply passionate about the ocean, that tragically passed away shortly before he turned 19.

This is the moment where I truly lost it. I swear, I was a sobbing mess.

Jason’s vulnerability hit me harder than I expected. We already knew about his father, but hearing him tell the whole story was tough. I can barely imagine what he went through at such a pivotal age. The emotional distance between him and his mother after she got remarried definitely played a big role and when you add his strained relationship with his stepfather into the mix, it’s impossible not to feel for him. It's such a tragic backstory, I hope they don’t mess it up from here on out. My pookie deserves better :(

As for the special scene, it wasn't that much but I liked it. Unfortunately, I can't post the screenshots since I’ve hit the limit per post sigh but it was such a sweet and heartwarming moment. It offered a smooth transition from the heaviness of the conversation to their usual playful banter and I really appreciated how it slowly lightened up the mood without taking away from the emotional depth of his story. I have to admit, I wasn’t really a fan of the illustration. The setting and moment were adorable - it totally gave me Rapunzel vibes with all the whimsy and charm - but Jason’s expression feels off, it’s almost like he’s a villain plotting revenge rather than being swept up in the moment lol. Plus his proportions seem a little strange mmh. Candy, on the other hand, looks gorgeous so gg.

And that’s it. Afterwards, Jason accompanies Candy back to her house, reminding her that despite the little walk down memory lane, things haven’t changed between them in his eyes, and he expects the same from her. Oh, and let’s not forget she owes him an intimate story too as if the whole Ioan drama wasn’t enough.

With that, he leaves and the episode ends with Candy having her same old crisis whenever she spends a little time with Jason.

Now, I’m really curious to see if Jason opening up will actually shift things between them or if it’ll stay the same old. At this point, Candy doesn’t have much of an excuse to keep trash-talking him - he hasn’t done anything to harm her or Devenementiel, yet, and he’s actually been there to help her on multiple occasions. I’m hoping she drops the whole “he’s the devil” mindset because he’s honestly shown more support than hostility in the latest eps.

But honestly I can't hide that rn I'm more worried about the next episode. Thomas having an incident was on everyone’s bingo card -even though I didn’t expect it to happen this early- but here we are. I’ve got so much repressed trauma from everything with Lysander that I genuinely have no idea what to expect next 🫠

Agatha All Along Ep 8 & 9 - spoilers!

Just my thoughts about the finale. And completely without structure. But damn, I needed to write this down.

Not what I expected but loved it so much

Strangely didn't make me cry while watching but it's such an incredibly sad and satisfying resolution to the Witches' Road story

They set it all up perfectly with how Billy created it. The road IS real, but it's also true that Billy made it.

Omg the way that Rio let the flowers grow on Agatha's grave, I AM NOT OK

And how Agatha kept killing witches for her son. That's so heartbreaking, I can't even. And then she kept going because it made her feel good for a moment. Like a drug addiction 😭😭😭

And I'm so glad that she is a ghost. Like, I wouldn't have recovered if she'd have permanently disappeared. And that Billy and her are a coven now - it's literally what I wanted most from this series ("spirit as my guide" OMG😭🙌🏼)

And in a way, Agatha and Rio are together now. In the truest way. Maybe the only way that's possible. Like, they are actually endgame. Tho it sort of seems a bit like a toxic relationship ngl. Rio is definitely in a strong position of power in this. And she may not actually take pleasure in hurting Agatha, but she's not too averse to it either. Idk. I'm still happy about it tho. It's such a difficult, unique and compelling dynamic. Like, I've already seen people complaining online that they killed off the lesbian and that there wasn't a happy ending. BUT THERE WAS. They literally ended up together, wdym?!

Also, she came back after all and they are looking for Tommy now together! So she's going to return! And I'll get my mentor relationship. So happy about this.

Also glad that Jen survived in the end. I didn't really care about her before, but the way she smiled when she got her power back changed everything for me.

Surprisingly I smiled a lot during the finale. Idk why. Logically, I should have cried. But the happy stuff got to me more intensely than the sad stuff for once.

Honestly I wish it would have made me more emotional. But it was too expected, I guess.

Also, I'm begging to get a backstory for Agatha and Rio. Like, they already knew each other when Nicky was born. And they looked like they had already broken up. So, where is my lesbian backstory?!

The fact that Rio let Agatha keep her son for 10 years at all is such a prove of her devotion. Man I'm on my knees.

And it's so devastating. Nicky basically died because he didn't wanna kill more witches. But then Agatha just kept killing them anyway. No wonder she's afraid to face him in the afterlife.

On another note....she's so pretty as a ghost 😍🔥 like. What?! The new dress, the hair, the makeup. Absolutely love it. They could have kept a bit of the black, but I still love it very much.

And I'm so attached to Billy now. I just want both of them to be happy. It's a shame that Jen left the coven. But I guess it was always supposed to be "coven two". From the very beginning. And omg can we talk about the fact that Agatha and Nicky made up the ballad together😭😭😭 that just changes EVERYTHING. She DID walk the road before. In the truest way. It's HER road. Billy may have made the trials real, but it was always a ballad about Agatha's road. OMG

so i've just joined the pjo series discourse on sm (i've read all the books) so maybe people might have already said this but i feel like the monster fights are kinda underwhelming ?? the fights themselves but the atmosphere around them too. i'm just going to say it point by point to be clearer :

Mrs. Dodds: she's the first monster and threat of the show. i was waiting for something scary and surprising, that would have terrified percy or something. but instead the "reveal" was slow, and there wasn't even a fight, he just kind of opened the sword (even tho we don't even see him doing it) and she just. dies like that ?? it was really easy and i get that they can't just kill percy in the first ep but there wasn't even a bit of struggle or anything. tbh this first fight really dissapointed me. there was mystery that creates an intrigue but she just wasn't scary or a menace imo (EDIT : I HAVE NOW REREAD THE SCENE AND IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS EXACTLY HOW THE FIGHT PLAYS OUT IN THE BOOK (extract down below) so forget everything i said in this part, i'm sorry. )

2. The minotaur : i liked this one much more than the first one, the car chase was thrilling and the atmosphere of the scene was really cool. i've only got one little thing to say about it, but i think it's just a me thing and i'm nitpicking (idk how to make gifs so i hope you can picture it in your head) :

when sally takes percy's jacket to lure the minotaur away from the boys and uses it as a red cape like in a corrida, i think it kinds of take the attention away from the fear of the monster in itself by being comedic. AGAIN i know i'm nitpicking here but why not say it.

(also i regret that the last scene was so far away from the camera and from the camp border. i know it's bc it's percy's pov but i loved percy's desperation in the movie (I KNOW IT'S BAD) when he's failing to save his mother and finally sees her (and her emotions) when she is gets taken away from him.)

3. Medusa : i LOVED what they tried to do with medusa and how they tried to make us sympathise with her. however, the fight was REALLY dissapointing to me. it kind of happened from nowhere. it's implied that it's annabeth plan but it really happened way too fast and did not give enought time for the viewer to appreciate the threat that medusa can be. it felt way to easy for them to beat MEDUSA. the fight lasted 5 seconds max and it felt shy in a way, like as if they didn't not want to fuck it up.

+ special mention : 4. Clarisse: I'M NOT SAYING SHE'S A MONSTER, I'M JUST PUTTING HER HERE BC TECHNICALLY SHE WAS A THREAT TO PERCY. i like dior's acting, idk anything about her outside of the show but i'm going to be honest : not knowing the cast at all, at first i immediately thought she was drew 😭. she IS a really pretty girl but for me she doesn't emanate clarisse's ares' daughter vibe. when her spear broke she was so GOOD, but appart from that she's just really chill i think ? like she's not menacing, she just kind of a mean girl bully (which clarisse is ig but she's not a menace enough imo) and tbh i think she's just not as "rough" as i think she could have been.

tldr : i think the fights were not scary enough and did not set a good tone for the series. they were also too easy and fast for them to be enjoyable.

of course i still enjoy this show a lot so i will be watching the next episodes and the rest of it so maybe there will be improvements. please yell what you guys think !!

when she shows up in bright moon in s4e10 to ask for help rescuing entrapta, i think it speaks volumes about scorpia's ability and outright desire to be this compassionate, understanding person & friend that when glimmer starts to question her about why she's there - she's too distracted to answer at first and glimmer thinks she's ignoring her. but she's actually just sooo taken aback to see shadow weaver is there in bright moon. cause yeah catra may have freaked out when adora told her that in the waste but obvi catra never told that to scorpia. cause i think she was kinda just fed up tryna be close w anyone at that point so she basically just went into an erratic tailspin from the end of s3 to s4 till glimmer finds her in the wreckage after catra's fight w hordak. and she straight up invites glimmer to put her out of her misery.

and ugh i love scorpia so much for saying in the fractures ep, "it's just... shadow weaver! at bright moon! it's no wonder catra's been acting the way she has. ohhh and now i left too, that's gonna do a real number on her..."

like, what a considerate empathetic soul, even after everything catra did she still can't help but see the true nature of where a lot of it stems from. and even adora when she says that shares a brief glance w sw before quickly looking away to press on with questioning scorpia. but imo in that quick glance there was at least a moment of clarity for adora of maybe something like 'oh shit.. did i fully take that into consideration? like maybe as much as i should have?'

idk i could be reading too much into it lol but it kinda makes sense to me, esp just given the nature of adora and scorpia's characters. adora's being sometimes oblivious to that kinda shi is a quality she was raised to possess, and while scorpia can be oblivious in her own way at times hah she def always makes a big effort to try and see where a friend like catra is coming from, consider their headspace, and offer whatever support she can. even if sometimes it's overbearing, like swaddling a grown "angry-feline person" in a blanket and tryna asmr-lull them into chilling tf out lmao <3

ps too tho quick note on how that ended w catra bursting out that she lost shadow weaver. she caves cause she's so stressed over it and trusts scorpia w the truth - only to have it be when hordak's imp overhears the whole confession and catra is royally screwed. just another experience for her broke brain to reinforce that she should never trust anyone, and just after getting that same proof from shadow weaver using her to escape - knowing that she was effectively dooming catra in doing so. and sw just literally didn't care. at all.

ugh she's awful. but scorpia's so kind tho, such the sweetheart. and she gives great hugs! :)

Crosshair has too many expressions to count this last scene, asking to hunt the batch down... my theory is he never had his chip removed but that venator engine fried it and it slowly stops working... we know that a lot of the chips are slowly starting to stop working in other clones, maybe its the same for Crosshair ?? so he's feeling a lot of confusion at hunting them down ?? maybe idk lol

New tales Ep 5 live review! I had this in my drafts for so long, I'll finally post. I lost the draft 3 times while playing so some notes are missing or come from memory but yee jshshs

This run was a bad ending one so, a review of the game will happen once I play the good or neutral one, to see how the game was supposed to be played!

- the sequence with Phoung,,, like, I feel narrative would work better if we saw the choices we made in Ep 1? Like, talking about Anu's wrong doings without exactly suggesting them beforehand feels weird, esp since this is whole 'I don't care enough of others'. There was some foreshadowing for Octavio part but not this :/ like sure, it's sad Phuong had the anniversary and Anu forgot but I really wish we were showed that.

- Tediore soldiers are the most entertaining part of this episode istg. I'd even say they're the best part of the game in general as writers can strive at what they wanted - jokes.

- Fran part: Rita was adorable for trying to change (too bad she died sjhsjs) and LOU13 being a cat was amazing 🙀🙀 Bless you toxic yuri

- Mad that the relationship with killing in this game for each character is not stable. But once again, possibly something I'll need to check in good run

- Anu sequence : dear God Rhys made me so happy YOU DONT EVEN KNOW. LIKE I will replay the game and try to get to that part just to record him. He's so adorable 😭😭😭💕💕💕 even Anu can see that

Final conclusions after this for now

- the game has good moments. There is some clever writing here and there and if you realise these characters are supposed to be cringe, it gets better. Tediore soldiers were always a steal and Badass Superfan, Brock, and the couple always made me smile when they showed up.

- I also liked L0U13's design and attitude. Some of his one liners were so strong and cool

- Susan was a villain. Certainly a clever and strong woman but also, often seemed to want to prove to the world she could do anything. Fs for her

- I REALLY hope that the weird inconsistencies I've been talking about with killing is my fault in some dialogues. I'll see if I can figure it out in the new run

- I'll write my review on Rhys' character cus I really feel people kept on saying how he's jack 3.0. There are some parts where the writing resembles more jack but I think it's something we can look at from another angle.
